This advertisement is for The Archive Undying—a debut science fantasy epic from Emma Mieko Candon, and book one in their Downworld Sequence, featuring commissioned fanart of Sunai, the book's main character. The artist is Caitlin Ono.
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
Plugged into his AI god when its corruption renders him unfortunately immortal, sad gay disaster Sunai takes a die-again-or-die-trying approach to his tragically unending life. Despotic police states want to leash him and giant robots want to eat him, but reuniting with the small handful of people he cares about is what’s actually horrifying.
Adrift in the wilds, Sunai makes several unwise decisions such as:
Scavenging old ruins haunted by hostile fragments of another shattered technological deity
Allowing his mind to become further compromised
Sleeping with his mysterious employer for information and fun
Joining a haphazard crew of pirates who all have different motives for hunting a feral remnant of the same god that cursed him, all those years ago
This brain-melting series-starter is like a Neon Genesis Evangelion AMV set to a bass-boosted cover of George Michael’s "Careless Whisper."

astarion can still give tav eternal life as a spawn.
he can play your song at a tavern, cook your favorite meal for his new lover, tell your cheesy jokes. new companions ask who you were and astarion will give a taste of your adventures, just enough to satisfy them while keeping some memories only to himself. those memories aren't a ballad of heroes saving the city, they're precious, priceless moments he spent learning how to live again. how to do all of this without you

i've never even seen the show First is from and yet i love your First x Chase Young ship so i have to ask. If anything did HAPPEN between the two of them what sort of emotions would they be dealing with afterwards?
Wow, this is such an unexpectedly nice compliment for me? Cause it means, you are a Chase/XS fan, who saw my crack ship and went 'I don't know what's going on, but I enjoy your silly little ship, funny crossover shipper.' and you know what? It's very nice and made me happy. ;) Thank you!
And well who said nothing ever happened between them lol IF anything happened between those two (be it emotional or physical ;3), their default way of dealing it would be DENIAL DENIAL DENIAL, in similar but also in slightly different ways.
Chase Young is a man who seemingly doesn't do softer emotions. Any possible feelings and reactions who could be attributed to him actually caring about First Ninja, are re-labeled in his head into him doing all of this because he is trying to manipulate First on his side (and he totally still is, but he also now wants to feed that man, talk with him during long evenings and perhaps take a nap with him, you know, disgusting cute domestic stuff amidst oh i dunno- taking over the world and being evil together. >;))
First Ninja on the other hand, is very much aware that for things to go this far means that he is absolutely having emotions about Chase. But he is also in denial, because how can he betray all of his moral standing and beliefs, if he starting to care about someone like Chase Young? So he shoves it so far deep, he is in denial about denial, and turns completely blind to anything even resembling them being something more than opponents who tentavely respect one another.

Hetalia nations having the only remaining copy of their favorite play or book. Special first editions of certain books, sometimes gifted by the author themself. Portraits done by artists no one else cares to remember. Stories never written down that they only remember parts of and wish they could share again with their people. Little knick knacks they picked up over the centuries with value only to them. Things that remind them of who they are, who they used to be, that are so important they can't part with them.
Then there are those things that only live in their memory, that they wish they could see again but it just wouldn't be the same.

Thinking back on it, it’s so obvious Solomon isn’t as emotionally intelligent as I additionally thought he was. Which knowing his childhood and background…yeah that makes a whole heck of a lot of sense.

this probably won't happen BUT since kuras almost destroyed the world (i think so? i gotta refresh my memory) once, what if in a bad ending he gets affected by the main character's hands and actually goes through with it?
what if he destroys the main character along with it?
his precious friends, his precious lover, all of it would be gone. just as fleeting as he said it would be

nightbringer lesson 14 FUCKED ME UP in several ways but primarily I've spent the last 48 hours making myself sad over the solomon backstory we got. specifically I have, for no reason, latched onto that one chapter in the Kids event where baby solomon cried because he felt so guilty over being responsible for that spell. and that just feels a touch more depressing in context

I think about this moment a lot.
Like. It feels really rude that Fushi’s just brushing Tonari off like this, jerking his hand away as if he’s annoyed she even tried to touch him in the first place. The fact that we don’t even see his expression when he does this makes it feel extra brutal. But I think a lot of people see this scene as if Fushi rejecting Tonari’s ‘advances,’ so to speak, and I’m not convinced that’s what’s happening here.
Like, yeah we see that big love bubble at the corner of the panel while she’s telling Fushi how important he is to her, but Tonari’s just reflected on how she feels about him and ultimately rejected her own feelings. Romantic love is not something she wants to feel for Fushi. So I don’t think she was working her way up to a confession. At least, not intentionally (it’s not her fault Fushi’s an empath)!
Instead I think this scene is supposed to be a parallel of the moment that happens between Gugu and Rean.
Gugu doesn’t tear his hand away from Rean’s because he doesn’t want to hear her confession. He isn’t running away because he doesn’t love her back. Gugu pulls away from Rean because he’s rejecting the concern she has for him and his safety. He realizes there’s something greater that he needs to focus on, something he feels only he‘s strong enough to take care of. And he wants to take care of it to keep her and the people he loves safe. Gugu loves her, it’s just not the right time for him to indulge in it.
In my opinion Fushi feels similarly to Gugu (not the reciprocation part though). He appreciates Tonari’s concern and love for him- that’s why he smiles a little and thanks her- but it’s not the right time for him to indulge in that. He‘s still trying to prove that the world is at peace (something he’s doing because of her, for her), he doesn’t need or want her getting involved in his fight against the nokkers.
I wanna reemphasize that I’m not trying to argue that Fushi secretly reciprocates Tonari’s romantic feelings- he’s already said he’s never felt that way about anyone before. I just don’t think he’s outright rejecting them either.
I think the hands in this scene are also what get people thinking this scene is a little more romantic than it is. It’s a standard cliche where one character stops another from leaving after all lmao. But this to me is what solidifies this as a scene that’s not inherently romantic.
Them grabbing at each other like this is a much older, a much deeper thing for them. Back when they were on Jananda, they’d often grab at each other’s wrists because they could never quite see eye to eye. Tonari specifically would grab at Fushi’s wrists a lot when trying to impose her will on him and drag him along. Once they start understanding each other, however, their hands actually touch (ex. Tonari pressing Oopa’s blow dart to the back of Fushi’s hand).
This scene is a little mix of the two. Tonari’s grabbing Fushi’s wrist to stop him from leaving (imposing her will on him) but her hand overlaps with his palm a little (trying to understand him). Tonari doesn’t know what’s happening completely, but she knows enough to know something’s wrong. In a way, Tonari grabbing for his hand is her appealing to Fushi to open up, to let her in, follow through on this connection that’s always been theirs.
But he doesn’t. Fushi rejects it.
I think the chapter image shows it all pretty well too. They’re both reaching out for each other. But while Tonari’s solid in her attempts to reach him, Fushi's all fuzzy. It's as if these are his emotions. Like, subconsciously he wants to reach out, but he can't. So close, yet so far…

Even if Skeppy never shows up on the QSMP, I am so invested in the story of these two immortal soulmates, who even when stuck in a time loop that reset their memories always managed to find each other, being forcibly separated for the first time in forever and are now desperately trying to find each other again... I hope Bad can keep drip feeding more lore and story about them whenever he is able.

boy, this game really feels different in small, unexpected ways when you play a character that's in love with an immortal, huh.

Yo Aria!! Since you posted the new chapter of SICSIG I thought of making a picrew of Gabe
Here it is
I hope you like it!!
HE'S PERFECT I WANNA PUT HIM IN MY POCKET 😭😭😭🥺
Stars!! You're the best, oh my gosh!!! Look at himmmm he's so sweet im gonna pop 🥰💖💖💖 you got all the lil details perfect!! Like his watch and his button down and gorgeous curls, its so him! And he has the birthday dahlia im gonna cry 💗
This totally made me think -- Gabe getting his first pride pins would be so special for him, right?!
Like, Cas and Luca embellish all of their clothes and accessories and stuff all the time, its second nature for them with their aesthetics, but Gabriel is always so put together, its a part of the whole "perfect President Adalhard" mask, right? This guy owns an iron, for Christ's sake.
But for Cas or Luca to just give him a little present one day, and its just a little rainbow pin (and maybe a polyam pin too!), for him to clip onto the strap of his satchel somewhere, just an understated little thing, i think it'd speak volumes to him. Gabriel's journey in SICSIG is really about finding his sense of self and learning to love himself for who he is; after that whole section where he's thinking about how he identifies, wondering for a time if he was demisexual, and admiring how confident ease with which Cas and Luca use their labels... god, i really think a pride pin would mean so much to him!
Yes he ultimately decided "he was fine just being Gabriel", but for him to have agency around that? To be able to show people that he's actively living as "just Gabriel?" To visibly be part of a community, and slowly unravel the "perfect" mask he puts up by accessorising how he wants, being vocally who he wants to be? That's growth and healing right there!!
HES SO CUTE I WANNA SQUISH HIS LITTLE FACE THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!
