Betrothed 7

Summary: You have been betrothed to a disgusting pig to settle your father’s gambling debts. The night before your wedding, you are rescued by an unlikely party.

A/N: So sorry this took so long, but here is the long awaited Part 7 of Betrothed. It is also the final part of Betrothed, however the story is not over. Read through to the end to see what’s going on.

FIC:

Loki took you back inside the palace, assuring you that you didn’t have to go to dinner that evening.

“Yes we do,” you said. “We have to face him. Together.” Loki nodded.

“As you wish.”

His reaction did not disappoint After a moment of shock, he settled into a royal pout for the rest of the night

Thor and Frigga both smiled when they saw you. Thor’s was wide, while Frigga’s was knowing.

Throughout dinner, Loki was always touching you in some way.

Several minutes into the meal, you turned to Sif.

“I have a favor to ask” She nodded. “I want you to teach me to fight.”

“Might I ask why?”

“I never want to feel helpless again.” Loki’s hand tightened around yours under the table as he continued his own conversation.

“Of course,” she said. “meet me on the training grounds tomorrow morning at down.” You nodded.

“Thank you.”

You stumbled into Loki’s bedroom the next afternoon, exhausted and sore. He chuckled as you collapsed on the bed.

“I take it it was a good day?” You groaned in response You kept your eyes closed as you felt Loki crawl over you and press his lips to your own. You opened your eyes as he pulled away and he searched them.

“You don’t have to do this for me. You know that right?

“I know…I have to do it for myself.”

He nodded. “If that is what you wish, I will help as I can.”

The first week was rough, but you improved quickly. After three weeks, Sif assured you that you were her best pupil in years and that you could pull back your training sessions to 3 days a week instead of 5.

One day as you were training and sparring with a different soldier, Loki came up to Sif, who was watching from a balcony.

“How is she doing?”

“Remarkably well. She’s determined to improve, and she has.” Loki and Sif both smiled as you disarmed your opponent.

“Thank you,” he said.

“You’re welcome”

About two months after yours and Loki’s first kiss, you sat in the library on one of your days off. Suddenly, four guards entered and stood around you.

“Lady Y/N, you are to come with us”

The doors to the throne room slammed open as Loki stormed in.

“Where is she?” he demanded. Thor looked confused at his father.

“She is gone, and you will never see her again”

“You banished her?! Simply because I love her!”

“I banished her because Draken was going to declare war! I forged a treaty with him that hinges on her banishment. You’re lucky I did not hand her over to him, as that was what he truly wanted.

“You should have fought for her.”

“I did all I could!”

“If she was to be Thor’s bride you wouldn’t have given up so easily!” For once Thor was silent, but he was definitely angry. He looked as thought he was about to explode.

“This is not Thor’s betrothed we are speaking of! You will never see that pauper again!”

“I will find her. You can’t hide her from me!” He turned to storm out.

“The Bifrost will not be opened to you!” Loki stopped dead in his tracks.

“Father-” Thor started.

“To either of you,” Odin continued over Thor, “until I see that you both are thinking clearly. Heimdall will not open the bridge without my express permission.”

Loki turned to face the king. “You can’t do this,” he fumed, his voice dangerously low.

“Oh but I can. Now go. Sort out your emotions.” Frigga entered, obviously angry but she held it back.

Loki looked to his mother and took a deep breath. “Will you please at least tell me where you sent her?”

“No, Loki. Believe me. It is better this way.”

“TELL ME!” Loki demanded and begged. Loki’s anger began to overtake him again as Odin continued to refuse, and he stormed out of the throne room, making his way to his chambers.

Once there, he completely lost control.

About an hour after the confrontation in the throne room, Thor stood outside his brother’s door. He took a deep breath before knocking.

“Loki?” There was no reply. “Loki, please, we need to talk” He tested the doorknob and found it unlocked, so he peeked in.

The room was utterly destroyed. Pieces of furniture were strewn across the floor. Broken glass was scattered around the room from the mirror that was toppled.

Loki sat against the wall, holding a gown in his hands.

Thor didn’t say anything. He had already expressed his anger to his father and thrown a table across a banquet hall. Now he simply sat beside his brother. After several minutes, Loki spoke up.

“Did you know?”

Thor sighed. “No. I know Draken would seek retribution, but Father kept his plan from me as well as Mother.” He shook his head. “I am sorry.”

“Perhaps…Perhaps you might speak to Father! He might listen to you. Maybe tell you where she is!”

“Loki, wait. I already thought of that. I tried, as did Mother, and he wouldn’t tell either of us. I also spoke to one of the guards who arrested her as well as Heimdall They all say the same thing. That once she was told that the treaty relied on her banishment that she agreed to go. She simply asked to say goodbye to you, but Father forbade that.”

“No…No you can’t give up! How can you? You claimed to love her as a sister! But now when she needs you-!”

“I fear that disobeying Father and trying to find her might put her in danger. Heimdall assures me that she is safe and if you ever wish to ask him of her wellbeing that he will answer you.”

“You would not be so calm if she was your beloved!”

“Perhaps not, but you would be the voice of reason. I’m not giving up. I am simply saying that we should bide our time. One day, you will see her again. I give you my word.”

Loki scoffed. “Your word…What is that worth?”

Thor swallowed his anger and his pride as he stood and walked to the door

“I’ll have a servant sent to clean this up.”

“Don’t bother. I shall send for one when I am ready.”

Once the door shut, Loki could no longer hold back his emotions. Whereas before he cried out in anger, no sorrow overtook him.

He held the gown in his hands tighter. It was the one you had worn on your first night in the palace.

He’d found the perfect missing piece to perhaps complete and fix him, and he’d lost her.

No, he thought. She was taken from me. As anger began to fill his heart, it could not chase out the sadness, but eventually he knew he would stand up and brush himself off, acting as though everything was fine.

Because as much as he hated to admit it, Thor was right. He had to wait for the opportune moment. But once that moment came, those responsible for his pain would pay, and he would be reunited with you.

But for now, all he could do was weep. So he allowed himself this one night to give into his pain and weep for his betrothed.

NAME CHANGE

HAMILTON-IMAGINEBUDDIES HERE!!

Hey y’all. Peggy and I have been talking. We’ve decided that we’ve gotten a tad bored with just writing Hamilton, so we are changing our URL to included all the stuff we love!

Our new name is, as you see, Imagine--Buddies, same as our wattpad account.

We will be writing about:

-Broadway Theatre (focusing on Hamilton, In The Heights, and Newsies but that doesn’t mean you cant request anything else!) -Marvel (if you’re requesting Loki or Tom Hiddleston you can do it on here, but I will probably be posting fics for him on my (peggy) Tom account @t-w-hiddlestoner !!) -TURN -anything else we find inspiration for in the future

A/N: After a ridiculously long wait, I’M BACK! So sorry it’s been so long. Enjoy the fluff (while it lasts...)

FIC:

Going to Loki’s room felt wrong, and going back to your own room made you feel sick.

So, you briefly went back to change then ran to the stables, knowing that riding would help clear your head.

“My lady,” the stable master said, bowing. “What can I do for you?”

“I would like to go for a ride.”

“Alone?”

“Yes,” you said. “I would like to clear my head.”

“I hear you are a skilled rider.” He led you into the stables. You jumped as two stable hands were trying to wrestle a horse back into its stall. It kept bucking and kicking.

“You needn’t worry, my lady. You are quite safe. Here we are.” He led you to a much calmer horse, but your attention was drawn back to the other horse.

“What’s wrong with him?”

“The stable master sighed. “His master, a brave warrior, died in battle two weeks ago. He hasn’t listened to anyone since or let anyone else ride him.” He turned back to the hose he intended for you to ride.

“This is-my lady?” His eyes widened when he saw you walking toward the wild horse. “My lady! Please...” He trailed off as you took the reins from one of the stable hands and the horse began to calm down. The other stable hand dropped his rein in shock.

“There now...” you whispered, reaching your hand out. He stepped back and shook his head, but then stilled again. When you touched his snout, you smiled.

“What’s his name?” you asked. The three men stood in shock for a moment before the stable master responded.

“Aldrnari.”

You smiled as you spoke to the horse, soothing him as you fixed the reins and put the saddle on him. One of the stable hands moved to stop you, but the stable master put his hand up.

“My lady, I would not advise this.” You sighed.

“Is there any rule to stop me from riding this horse?”

“Well, no, but-”

“Then I intend to ride him. I assure you. I will be fine.” As soon as he was ready, you mounted him, then spurred him to a trot. After a few moments, you leaned forward.

“Come on Aldrnari. Let’s fly.”

Loki returned to the palace in the late afternoon, just in time to get ready for dinner, so he expected to find you in his quarters, but when he arrived, you weren’t there.

Maybe she went back to her old room, he thought, heading that way. You weren’t there either.

He furrowed his brow, then figured you just lost track of time in the library. When he saw that you weren’t there, he checked the garden, then the stables. If you weren’t there, he’d start asking after you.

When he reached the stables, the stable master bowed. There was a horse already ready to go.

“Your highness,” he said. “What can I do for you?”

“Has Lady Y/N come here today?”

“Uh...Yes, I was about to-”

The stable master turned as Loki looked up. Both saw you riding toward the stables. Thanks to the waiting horse you didn’t see Loki as you dismounted just outside the stables, smiling despite the turmoil still deep inside you.

“Welcome back, my lady,” a stable hand greeted you as he took the reins.

“Thank you.” You looked up to see Loki approaching you, and your chest tightened. He turned to the stable master.

“This horse?! You let her ride this horse?! She could’ve been killed! You will be executed for this!”

“My lord!” you cried. “He turned from the stuttering man to you. You kept your voice firm and cold. “I chose Aldrnari. I calmed him and insisted on riding him, and this man even tried to stop me. As you can see, I am unhurt. You have no reason to be angry with him.” Loki’s eyes softened, but your stiff demeanor shocked him.

“How long have you been out riding?”

“Since this morning.” His eyes widened.

“You must be exhausted.” He took a step toward you, holding out his arms. you took a step back. He dropped his arms to his sides.

“Leave us,” he ordered. Once you two were alone, Loki spoke again.

“What’s wrong?”

“You shook your head. “Nothing, your highness.” You curtsied.

“I thought we were through with the formalities,” he laughed.

“It is better this way, my lord. I only wish to protect myself.”

“From what? From me?” You couldn’t continue to look at him without crying, so you turned away.

“I am simply preparing for the future.”

“The future?” He stepped forward. You stood still with your back to him.

“There can be no feeling between the like of you and the like of me.”

“Whatever do you mean?”

“Between a servant and a prince.”

“A servant?” he scoffed. “You must be tired from the day. Here, we don’t even have to go to dinner. Let’s go relax.” He reached for your arm.

“But that is what I am to become, once you tire of me.”

He froze, not quite having reached your arm. “Who told you that?”

“It doesn’t matter.” You took a deep breath. “I simply ask that you stop playing with my heart now so that I may have a chance at moving on.”

At first Loki’s heart broke, but then there was a bit of warmth in his cold heart. You cared for him. Somehow, someone so pure as you actually cared for him. You sighed and took a step away, but Loki grabbed your arm and spun you around, kissing you passionately. At first, you froze, but you quickly melted into his touch.

After he pulled away, he looked into your eyes.

“I may have said those things, and at the time I may have meant them, but I know now that I shall never-could never tire of you. If you will have me.”

You didn’t know what to say. Loki felt the same for you as you did for him. At first you thought that maybe he was lying, just playing another game. But part of you believed him.

And yet another part of you didn’t care which was true.

You kissed him this time. Loki was taken aback by your boldness, but he held you close as he kissed you back.

“I’ll take that as a yes,” he whispered against your lips. You smiled and continued to kiss him.
