I wanted to continue this thing that I wrote for @cod-dump (hope you don’t mind me tagging you lmao), just kinda expanding upon the concept of Nik being Soap’s father and getting into more of the meat in the idea, so here

~~~

Explaining to Ghost and Gaz everything that had gone on between Nik and Soap, their relationship and all, was exhausting. The number of questions they had took forever to get through and made Soap think a little too hard about what why his mother had caused this.

At the same time though, it made him realize he needed to call her to get all the information straightened out here. He needed to know why she did it. Why she separated him from his father.

So, a few days after he had gotten everything sorted with Nik and the team was on the same page with everything, he made the call. He had both Ghost and Nik sit in on the call with him, he couldn’t get himself to do it without some support and he needed to have Nik there to make sure any lies didn’t slip passed him. The trio were sat around the dining table in the common room, Nik and Ghost on either side of Soap. He pressed the call button and made sure it was on speaker, holding it in his left hand still.

“Tha e math cluinntinn bhuat a-rithist, John. It’s been too long since ye called!” She answered the phone with.

“Sorry ‘bout that. It’s been quite busy out here, so I haven’t had the chance.” Soap rested his forehead in his palm and Ghost ran his hand along his upper back in a soothing motion.

“Is there somethin’ goin’ on, a chuilein? Ye sound a bit upset.”

“Yeah, um, I’ve been thinking a lot and had a few questions fer you, if that’s alright?”

“Of course, it is! Ask away.”

He took a deep breath then went for it. “Why did you tell me my da abandoned me?”

There was silence on the other end. The seconds stretched for what felt like forever.

“Well, that’s because he did. He made it very clear to me that he didn’t want to speak to any of us, and as much as it pained me, I knew we had to respect his wishes.”

Soap saw Nik’s fist clench out of the corner of his eye and looked up, seeing an expression of barely concealed rage. Soap set his phone on the table, reaching over and grabbing his father’s hand to try to help calm him.

“Ma, do you remember what he does for work?”

“…What do you mean, John?”

“I need you to be honest with me. Why did you lie?”

He was met with more silence.

“I dinnae lie, John.”

“Ma. I’m givin’ ya one more chance to be honest. I need you to take it.”

“I don’t understand, I’ve been honest-“

He let out a sigh before laying it all out. “I met him again, Ma. Ye seem tae have forgotten what he does fer work. We work together now. I read his journal, ma. I know what you told ‘im. I know you lied to both of us. So why? I just wanna know why you did it.”

“It’s a very complicated situation-“

“Bullshit. I know a complicated situation when I see one, and this is not one.”

“John-“

“Не лги нашему сыну, Elspet.” Nik growled. He’d clearly had enough of her avoiding the question she’d been asked.

“Nikolai, I-“

“You will answer the question the boy asked. You will not disrespect him or diminish his intelligence by acting as though you do not understand what he is talking about.”

They were once again met with silence. Ghost moved closer to Johnny, wrapping his arm around his shoulders and holding him against his side.

“I was tired. Your father’s job took a toll on me, on our family, and I couldn’t handle it anymore. The entire time you were away from me, every summer, I was so scared his job would follow him home and I wouldn’t know because you were so far away. I needed to have you close to make sure you were okay. That you were safe. I couldn’t think of anything else to be able to do it.” She paused. “Look at where that’s gotten us now. You enlisted for the same damn job and now ye work together. Guess it couldn’t truly be avoided.”

Soap was seething. While he understood being afraid for your child’s safety, he couldn’t get passed the manipulation. The lies. The fact that she didn’t just explain that that was the problem. He could have kept up with phone calls, letters, something so he wouldn’t lose his father. And yet, this was the decision she had made.

Nik squeezed his hand and Ghost hugged him a bit tighter.

“John?”

A deep breath. “Thank you for your honesty. I’m gonna need some time to process all that. I’ll call you again soon, yeah?”

“Yeah. I love you, John.”

“Love ye too, ma.” He hung up the phone and rested his head against the table. “Christ, that sucked.”

“Are you alright, love?” Ghost asked.

“I’ll be alright eventually. Just gonna need some time.” He picked his head back up and looked over at Nik. “You alright? Cannae exactly be easy for you to hear either.”

He gave a light nod. “I’ll be okay eventually, малыш. It will take time, as you said, but it will be fine.” He squeezed Soap’s hand again and Soap did the same back. “У нас все будет хорошо.”

He met you through Venti, it was one time Venti dragged you to come along with their hangout. He finds you very interesting but even if you two had a very long conversation both of you never knew each other's name; but that doesn't he stop him from thinking about you.

"Venti, about your friend what's their name?" That caught Venti's attention, Venti paused whatever he's doing and looked at Kazuha with a smug plastered on his face "anddd why did you ask about them? Is Kazuha having a little crush to my friend?" He teased while Kazuha brushed it off.

"Just joking! Their name is [Name] geez you two had a conversation for hours last day yet you didn't bother ask for her name" Venti sighs in dissapointment while Kazuha have a lovestruck smile on his face, 'So [Name]... Suits them well' he didn't even realized he's smiling while Venti on the other hand stare at him, he have never seen this side of Kazuha before.

Sure Kazuha did reject half of the school girls confessing to him hut he didn't expect him to be interested on someone who doesn't give a single thing about what's happening in school. But Venti is surely curious why Kazuha took an interest in you; is it because you two had similar hobbies? A carefree soul? Etc.

Back on Kazuha's daydreaming he thinks about asking you to go with him on a cat cafe, if only he had a confidence...

Classes ended quickly, it was 4:55 in the afternoon, Kazuha was walking at the school halls while a girl called out his name "Kazuha!" He stopped walking and turned around to face the girl who's chasing him; she looked like she put an effort on her face, with her cheeks blushing she nervously hand Kazuha an envelope, Kazuha already knew what was going because he can see the heart on the middle of the envelope "i-i like you.. so please will you go out-"

"Im sorry but im too busy-" the girl didn't give him a chance to answer and ran away with tears It was a lie ofcourse he was too busy being yours. Kazuha payed no mind to what happened just now as he watch you walked out of your classroom looking absolutely stunning, he cant help himself but smile like an idiot while staring at you.

"Oh! Didn't know you're here" your voice bought him back to reality, he smiled at you "i just happen to pass buy" lies. He purposely go infront of your classroom just to see you

You chuckled at him, god he looks so adorable! Kazuha took this chance to ask you out on a date, he took deep breaths before exhaling. Trying to calm his nervousness "would you mind going out with m-"

"Earth to Kazuha hello?" Venti wave his hands on his friend who's busy day dreaming "huh?"

"Geez! You scared me there! Also who are you day dreaming with?" Venti tease him "is it about someone? Or is it [Name]?" Kazuha only avoided his teasing but he's sure that his imaginations will come true... That is if he got the confidence

What if... It's a continuation from my ask (where we meet Razor first before everyone), and Razor is just confused at the patrolling knights near Wolvendom constantly asking him if he have saw 'the impostor'

Tbh he just shakes his head. Who tf is the impostor????? Wtf is an impostor???????

Many question marks later..

He had encountered an epiphany (not really it's just the Springvale ppl talking about someone copying the creator's looks).

The 'Impostor' they have been searching is you.

But you're not an impostor! Razor knows it! Andrius knows it! And with how the nature and the monster responded to you, Teyvat knows it too!

So like the good son he is, he sheltered you even more severely.

Ur not allowed to go out of his sights at this point (he'll still take you to places with many lampgrasses if you still wanna make a crown w it)

And my imagination ends there, do you think there's something else he'd do?

Razor had been subtly steering u away from Mondstadt for 3 weeks now, ever since yall talked to the Springvale locals

An u cant say u didnt notice, but u werent rlly stopping him

You wanted to be like Venti, chillin among the ppl regardless of ur powers, not the Raiden Shogun :/

And maybe shock some ppl who dont know ur a god like him too lol

Diluc had been looking around the lesser patroled areas of Mondstadt to search for the Architect

He didn't even need those incompetent knights to tell him their god had finally descended

He already saw the signs long before Mondstadt

Bc youve been in Wolvendom, the area has flourished over time, more fish in the water, more game to hunt and bigger, crows making circles in the sky despite there being no corpse

And one of the closest places to you,

Is the Dawn Winery.

Diluc's security against Venti began to hold up better, the staff didn't have to clean as much things like dirt or weather damage to the manor,

His hawk had never been faster delivering his letters, he almost thought the little guy had been drugged with something

He patroled Stormterror's Lair, and deep in the woods surrounding the manor that the knights hadn't bother to go into

Afterall, he figured you'd never had a mortal form before, so u were unlikely to fend for urself for very long in the woods lol

so he wanted to find u quick (aww softy :')

He even made a trip out to the Thousand Wind Temple and Dragonspine (he did report that one to the knights, he didn't want Amber, Bennett, or Creator-forbid Klee, being the few pyro users to have to explore it)

Finally, after doing the further away locations, siginificant in history and rich with leftover magic

Diluc figured that's where you might land first, so he saved Wolvendom for last

It would at least let him check on that wolf kid and maybe get to talk to him long enough to ask him if he's seen anything unusual.

The lord of Dawn Winery manor heads into the Wolvendom woods, just as sunset colors the trees...

It was a Friday evening, the sun was setting, the weather was pleasant and it was time for all of the Lupical to come together and eat a big feast!! :)

About once a month, Andrius will come out for a few nights and dine with all of yall

Hes an old wolf give him a break, he takes long naps

So u cook lots of Mondstadt favorites to eat on and a few Liyue dishes too

Razor, ur favorite helper, has helped u finish the last dish and is now romping around with the puppies bless <3

U guys have dragged ur coffee table dining table setup out to sit and eat at

Andrius lets out a not too loud, not too quiet howl, and as the wolves, Razor and you lmao join in

Yall dig in, bones flying everywhere, spagetti noodles flingling around, it would put toddlers to shame lol

Diluc hears a howl that is too... big to be a regular wolf.

It filled the air of Wolvendom like no howl before it, as he used the glowing lampgrass to help light the path deeper

He sneaks past a hilichurl camp or two, all fast asleep

He scans the woods, and figures he'll search the woods besides the path after he gets to that old stone carved pit-

Food?

Diluc sniffs the air, and squints deeper into the forest

The black branches shade the way ahead, but just barely... he can see the flicker of orange and blue light?

He summons his claymore, bracing it on his shoulder, and creeps into the treeline to better hide him

You swear to god (dammit swear to.. you??) someone is watching you.

You look around the piles of fluffy doggos, happy and stuffed full they r slowly forming puppy piles

Andrius is finishing his meat platter, also sitting on all four legs on the ground

Razor is splayed on his back beside you, eyes closed, his feet sticking out the other side of the table, u chuckle at him

But not a single Lupical seems to be looking at you.

Gulping down your last few bites, you scan the treeline

U refuse to be that bitch in a horror movie where their gut says smth is off and they brush it off or barely look at their surroundings

Turning around to the treeline behind you, u see something... red fur?

U sit up some more, peering over the bushes at the bottom of the trees

You meet a pair of warm brown eyes, widened like they're just as shocked to see you

As u notice his familiar red high ponytail (but also not?? Its weird going from 2D to 3D and still recognizing bitches)

U peer down at his chest, as he carefully stands out of the foliage-

That familiar star shaped button that u can press for the character menu screen, the same thats on Razor, on Benny, on Fischl, on Lisa-

Hovers over Diluc's chest.

Diluc is in the bush, observing the human(???) stranger (he really doesnt want to attract the attention of that.. giant spirit wolf thing)

The figure sitting at a ... table?? (He can barely process all these absurdities at once, hes only got so much brain space)

Has sensed his presence, and as he grips his claymore, ready to demand answers,

Razor startles, and jumps up, smelling the pyro user, he summons his weapon-

The figure locks eyes with him, and all he sees is gold.

Diluc drops his claymore.

PKAY OKAY SO FIRST OF ALL. IM LITERALLY SO EXCITED RN LIKE IM LITERALLY SHAKING I FEEL LIKE IM GONNA EXPLODE. WHAY IF IT GOES AGAINST MY HEADCANONS OR SMTH. IK I SHOULDNT TREAT IT SERSIOULU N JUST IGNORE CANON BUT STILL!! ENOUGH ABOUT HOW I FEEL. LETS TALK ABT WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN. Okay okay so! Many things can happen lemme just list down all the possibilities. More maf lore, marks life b4 Billy, marks life after Billy n how he got 2 the void, Mark interacting with Argos/Mr plant, Mark just doing smth in the void like "A day in the life of Mark" (Just realised that's literally my fanfic's title after typing that LMAO) so yeah. Ashur said "A YouTube video related to this series is coming out tomorrow...", the word 'related' suggest that it might not be fully about Mark and could include like. Mr plant and Argos too. Which crosses out the possibility of it being more maf lore, marks life b4 Billy, and 'a day in the life of mark'. I considered crossing out the possibility of the marks life after Billy thingy but like, maybe ashur would show how mark moved into the void and could like connect it 2 Argos delivering mail 2 him or Argos being the welcoming committee for when he first moved into the void (eeeeek this is what happened in my Mark fic!) Now that mw3 is released…bear with me here as I word vomit im so sleep deprived high and sick dksjdjsjsh anyways

I wanna do another comic, idk what but definitely another angsty one, with Ghoap of course (dont expect em so soon lmao it’s going into my wip)

Its just sad to me, I had this convo with a friend of mine and he mentioned how

“Every happy art about them will never be the same anymore”

Because as much as we WOULD ignore cannon, it’s there, one way or another you have to acknowledge it

Every happy art wont be the same anymore because they never got that happiness and peace in the end

And cHRIST does that rip my heart out into million pieces…

Im thinking of drawing the aftermath, more specifically Ghost…..

From the cutscene we see Soap’s stuff….and Id imagine Ghost takes them…maybe not all but some of them

The photo, the watches, the gloves….

The dog tags.

Which is what im planning to do.

Ghost who wears the dog tag or keep it close to his heart in his chest pocket, the rattling and the bump of the metal that moves with him serves as a reminder that Soap—

Johnny is with him.

And id imagine that before any mission, in the short moment of calm, he’ll pat his pocket or take out the dog tag, rubbing his hand over the cold metal, murmuring a small:

“You with me, Johnny?”

And let’s talk about grieve right? There’s an amazing poem I found, here’s what it says

And i think that fits perfectly with Ghost.

People say that it’ll pass, it’ll get better but what if Ghost doesnt want it to get better?

What if he wants to hold onto the “what ifs” and “what could’ve been”

What if he never moved on from that and wakes up a night haunted by the blues of Johnny’s eyes

What if he never want to move on and remained there on the concrete floor….

Because he fears that moving on and acceptance will only increase the chances of forgetting someone entirely

Sooner or later, he’ll forget about his voice….his smell….his smiles his eyes his arms his face

And that thought alone scares him, and so he rekindles back with what he knows best

Anger, sadness and pain

Thriving off the anger and going on a rampage, with disregard of his own safety and being reckless

Thriving off the sadness to remember the last sound he heard from Soap…which was faint and distance, but there nonetheless

Thriving off the pain to fuel his reasons for what he became, for what he could’ve done as he drowns in agony and regret

But i think…..in some moments, where the night is quiet and when the bed’s warm….

He’ll think about the good moments and the banters between them, he has carried their memory as if they’re in a gold locket

On days like this, he’ll bring them out and hold them gently

Cradle with such care that his hands shakes, that his face dampens

No matter how bad it was, there is always Simon who loved Johnny

"What's wrong Nene?"

Nene perked up, raising her head as Emu would speak softly to her. Nene had been keeping to herself since earlier this morning, getting really bad anxiety from a lack of sleep. As Nene perked up, she'd speak quietly, but loud enough for the pinkette to hear.

"M-Me?!- O-Oh..yeah. Don't worry a-about me, Emu. I-I'm fine." It was obviously a lie that Emu could instantly sense, seeing Nene fidget with her hands. She'd smile reassuringly, trying to comfort the grayish-green haired girl.

"I know you're lying, Nene, but its okay. Was it something that anybody did, or are you just genuinely anxious?"

Nene sighed softly, finally opening up about her worries to Emu. "I just.. I can't help but feel anxious about our next show.. I feel scared that I'll mess up like I used to..."

Emu understood what Nene meant, feeling bad for what the girl had to go through. She'd smile kindly, patting Nene's back to reassure her. All was going great now...Well, it was, until Emu heard a soft squeak from the poor girl.

"A-Ah...! E-Emu...Emu doho-don't!"

Emu froze, genuinely confused about what had just happened. She was about to ask what Nene had meant, before looking down to see her hand gently squeezing Nene's side. Smiling, she'd start cooing at Nene, causing a flustered reaction out of the grayish-green haired girl.

"Awwweeee~! Are you tickliiiissshhh~? That's soooo cute, Nene! I'm gonna getcha, I'm gonna getcha! I'm goooonnnaaaa....getcha~!"

Nene squeaked, trying to run away as she dashed in the opposite direction. She, however, would unfortunately be caught by Emu. Struggling, she'd giggle nervously as Emu wriggled her fingers in Nene's direction. "Awwwweeee~! Giggling already, Nene~? I haven't even touched you yet~"

"Nohoho-No..! E-Emu! Wai- EHEHEHEEEP! Nohohoohohohooooo!"

Emu's sudden scribbling from her fingers to Nene's sides caught the poor girl off guard. She couldn't help but giggle uncontrollably as she squirmed around lightly.

"Tickle tickle tiiiickleeeee~! I'm gooonnnnaaa getcha getcha getchaaaa~!" Emu teased playfully, wanting to lightheartedly treat Nene like a little girl. "Nohohoohohohohoho! Ahahahahahehehehehehe! E-Ehehehemuhuhuhuhuuu! Nohohot thahahahahahahat! P-Plehehehahahase! I-It tihihihihihicklehehes!"

Emu giggled along with the ticklish mess, cooing sweetly as she began to lightly pinch at Nene's hips. The playful antics of the pinkette caused uncharacteristic squeals to bubble out of the girl's lips.

"E-Eheheheheheeeek! E-EheheheheHEMUHUHUUU! STOHOHOhohohohopppp IHIHIHIHIT!"

"Awwweee~ Why, Nene? Does it tickletickletickletickletickle~? Kitchykitchykitchykitchykitchykitchykitchy coooooo~!" Emu cooed, her fingers slowly crawling up to Nene's neck.

"N-Nononononoooooooo! W-Wait! P-Pleas- EHEHEHEHEHEEEEK! E-EHEHEHEMUHUHUHUHUUU! N-NOHOHOHOHOHOT THEHEHEHEREEEE! AHAHAHEHEHEHE- *snort* " Nene shrieked, covering her mouth as she let out tiny snorts. She'd keep pleading until Emu finally let up, kissing her cheeks. "You ok, gigglebug? Did I go too far?"

"Nohoho-No! Don't worry, Emu! I'm fihihi-fine!"

As Nene giggled from the ghost tickles, Emu would smile brightly and hold Nene tightly in her arms. "That's good to know! I love you, but know I won't be afraid to tickle you for being sad again~!"

Nene giggled back nervously, but happily. "Ahehehe...! I-I lohohohove you too!"
