Anyway here's the little drabble I promised yesterday and forgot about lol:

Inevitable bonus (between chapter 6 and 7)

It's not often that Aizawa swallows his pride and calls Hizashi to pick him up, so Hizashi doesn't push. He doesn't even say anything until they're halfway to Aizawa's home, parked in work day traffic. The blonde turns down the radio until it's a whisper.

"Bad day?"

Aizawa grunts. His forehead is pressed into the cool glass of the passenger side window. His chair is slid all the way back, legs fully extended. He digs his thumb into the muscle of his thigh, wincing at the pressure.

"Leg bothering you?"

He knocks his forehead against the glass. "Obviously."

"Sorry, sorry." Hizashi clears his throat. "It is not fitting correctly or something? We can stop and get one of those pads-"

Aizawa interrupts. "It's not the plastic's fault, it's the fucking muscle it's attached to."

Ah. Hizashi gives a sympathetic wince. He waits for a long while, until the energy in the car simmers down a little more.

"You should take some time off and see your doc-- just to check, you know?"

"I can't take a week off right now, we're about to launch and these interns are morons. Only Ururaka can do anything right, and fucking Kaminari is a burden--" Aizawa shifts and sighs, rubbing his face in his palms. "Tensei'll be here for the convention in a couple weeks, so I'll just tough it out until then. It'll be fine."

"Are you-?"

"I said it's fine."

A car honks somewhere in the sea of vehicles.

"Anything else bothering you?" Hizashi asks it as softly as he can. "You're prickly, but you're not usually this prickly."

Aizawa runs his tongue over his teeth in thought, thinking about his answer. His voice is still bitter when he answers: "Bad date."

"Oh! Oh, shit, I didn't realize you were even--" Hizashi has to recover from the shock before continuing. "Good for you for getting out there. I mean it, you're such a catch. This is great for you."

"Doesn't feel great."

"Yeah, I know, but it'll inevitably work out though, when you meet the right person. I promise. Look at me and 'Muri! I'm a freak and I found someone."

Aizawa gives him the side eye. "You find multiple someone's a week."

"Okay, whoa, sex is different than love. I could get you laid tonight if that's what you wanted."

Aizawa sucks air in through his nose, then slowly sighs. His hand is still on his face, dragging it down almost comically.

"It's not."

Hizashi knew that. He just hums in approval, fingers tapping against the leather steering wheel. "Does this mean you're giving up on...?"

"That was never a thing." Aizawa tumbles over himself as he speaks.

Hizashi gives him a half smile, one that's more sad than convinced. "Got it."

Im gonna ramble about Jedidiah and Sydney. Bear with me. This is a queer platonic sydidiah advocacy post.

The sydidiah dating arc feels so doomed to me and that impending doom casts a massive shadow over any nice sweet moments we have gotten/ might get… it’s so heart wrenching and devious from a writing standpoint /pos

Sydney and Jedidiah are like two trees who were planted too close together, not even of the same species. They’ve grown in sync, twisting together and fusing while the bark was still soft, weaving around each other until they’d become inseparable. Two separate trunks become one messily intertwined form, and they brace each other’s weight— if you cut one base, the other would topple. And yet they can’t survive together… they strain their branches upwards to compete for the same sunlight, every time one forms a sufficient canopy of leaves, the other ends up cast in the consequent shadow. One is always in the shade where it’ll starve, where it’ll wither, where it’ll deteriorate and take the other down with it when it falls.

And their attachment styles are so opposite from what we’ve seen… (My analysis here, some inference)

Sydney understands love as presence and affirmation and re-assuring words and touch, he needs a hand to hold like a ship needs an anchor, otherwise he’s just left to drift at the mercy of his own insecure mind. He talks about wanting something equal, I think a lot of that has to do with emotional vulnerability— he’s spent so long in a relationship where he’s an emotional mess in ways he can’t control, meanwhile Jedidiah is so… reserved. The contrast would make anyone feel burdensome, othered, isolated… even in a relationship that is loving deep down. I think so much of their poor communication/ secret keeping comes down to Sydney feeling like he’s being “too much”, or disproportionately emotional, which… is true, there is an imbalance, but it’s not Sydney’s fault. “I used to talk to Jedidiah about everything, but… I mean, he’s not just an endless well of support for me to dump all my issues into. Your friends shouldn’t have to play therapist for you, right? So I don’t really need to make him listen to all my bullshit anymore.”

Jedidiah understands love as the knowledge that someone is working behind the scenes to keep you steady, that they’re carving out a space for you to find respite in… wether you see them doing it or not. That’s what his parents did for him, that’s what he does for Sydney. He doesn’t want to get too close to the things he loves, because he fears he’ll only hurt them. He regards Sydney like an old childhood stuffed toy that he’s afraid to pick up and sleep with, it’s so precious and irreplaceable that he doesn’t want to risk damaging it… and so he holds it for only long enough to put it on a shelf for safekeeping… maybe brush the dust off once in a while.

They both need to seriously seriously SERIOUSLY a work on their communication if they want any hope of being healthy together— even if just as friends. Jedidiah needs to work on his emotional vulnerability, and Sydney needs to work on his self-assuredness… bro is the poster child of anxious attachment. And Jedidiah is the poster child of avoidant attachment. What a duo we have here! Idk they make me sad.

I started watching Achievement Hunter in 2013. They helped me learn english (hearing six people talk at once was a challenge) . I've loved being In this community. They've been a constant in my life for the past decade. And now they are ending.

And it wasn't unexpected. AH hasn't felt right for some time and I don't think keeping it alive would've brought it back. And it's good that they are able to leave it and go do something they seem passionate about. I hope dogbark is fun.

So I guess what I want to say is: thank you for being a part of my life for so long, and I'm trying to be hopeful for what comes next.

But god I'm gonna miss it

btw i'm sure this is nothing new on account of it having been well over 6 months by now since totk released and we had the no dlc bomb dropped. but i wasnt posting back then so idc ^_^

anyway the funniest thing about totk is no kass 100%. like. what happened to him. they dont even mention him by NAME and the only time hes ever even really mentioned is penn talking about him like this distant legendary figure and not like some guy who was playing his accordion in the woods. i hope amali divorced him

i mostly just have TF2 trivia, as its history has always been something ive always been fascinated with, so i hope these suffice:

The Pyro's Beta Head: While 8 of the 9 classes had their heads redone throughout development (to better show off Valve's new facial flex system), only the Pyro was left untouched, leaving them as the only class to still have their beta head.

Reference Posing Medics: In "Trailer 2", there are two Medics who are in their reference pose, during the first-person sequence of the Scout running through RED's base. While their role isn't clear, one likely theory is that they were meant to be camera positions for shots that were ultimately removed, in favour of the Scouts perspective, and Valve just forgot to remove or hide them. The second Medic even turns to look at the Scout as he runs by, maybe further proving their original purpose.

The Teaser Corkboard: While we don't have a clear idea as to what Valve had been planning with the "Teaser Corkboard", one likely theory is that it was created for the proposed update that would've included both Asteroid and Cactus Canyon, due to the few mentions of "Future", the blueprint of the rocket engine from Half Life 2 Episode 2, and Poopy Joe. Also worth noting, the two posters that were added with the corkboard share similar styles Asteroid and Cactus Canyon.

The Balls of Steel Taunt: Originally, The Love & War update was meant to include a lot more taunts than what ultimately shipped. One of the few to get scrapped is a taunt called "Balls of Steel", where the initiator would dare other players to kick them in the groin. While we don't have footage of this taunt, we do have voiceline files that reference the taunt's intention, as well as the name. The few files that remain were reused for other contexts, such as the Soldiers Conga taunt, where his "Ooh!" and "Ahh!" lines were originally his pain sounds for the taunt.

how was playing hsr? was there anything that you liked in the game and the story?

ITS BEEN AMAZING AS EXPECTED!!!!!!!!! i actually havent played genshin in a while since starting it, i have no motivation to do the filler event while a perfectly good star rail is sitting there waiting to be played :')

but for mechanics, i love they have auto battle so you dont have to nessecarily sit there and invest in every little battle you gotta do....and i love that the resin (resin??) system is a lot more forgiving with a higher cap, lower cost, and allow for overflow...thats nice...i also love that the mc and starter units are very useful. im so emotionally attatched to the star rail crew so im glad they never have to leave my team !!!!

storywise im LOVING IT SO FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i started playing it at the beginning of spring break 2 weeks ago and im almost all caught up!!! i went through belabog and penacony and now im just doing those leftover intermission main quests which im only now realizing i shouldve done before going to penacony LMAO

and of course.....danmarch....im so soft for them......and also i love sampo i cant wait to see what they do with him
