Seriously, what else is there to add? The story is tight. Maybe a little more of Toothless' perspective, giving him more scenes of agency and character, but does Dean even still see him as more than a baby pet?? Does he even give a rat's ass about aLL THAT???? HAHHAHAHHAHA
Just. We all know its not gonna work. I have an inkling that all "show dont tell" sequences are just going to get marred or removed of all nuance. I do not want to see Downed Dragon, Forbidden Friendship, New Tail, Test Drive, or Romantic Flight or practically any of the scenes that made me love this movie get a poor imitation.
You really think live action can mimic the body language, gestures, tHE WAY THE DRAGONS FLY in the first movie or miraciously somehow make it even better? You really think the music of the first could even be topped? YOU THINK THE CINEMATOGRAPHY, THE SHOTS AND LIGHTING WOULD BE COPIED??
Either way, at the end of the day, they already know they cant beat the original movie. All they need to do is horrendously mimic some parts to keep your interest, whether its a beloved scene or music. You're not watching the new one because you love the new, you're gonna watch it because you loved the original.
I really hope it either gets dropped, sent to development hell, or ends so bad that they cant make more. Please please please i hope it gets the ATLA movie treatment

people whitewashing Asha is crazy. Disney fans yelled about supporting a black princess since we hadnt seen one since 2010 and and how good representation is but then those same fans immediately whitewash her like ok that was a lie.. 🙄 i saw some use concept art for a redesign and like theres concept art of darker skinned dark eyes asha in her cultural attire why of all the concepts did you pick the lightksinned one with looser curls and green eyes for the redesign? 🤔

Rollo: “Hello.”
Rollo: “…Yes, that’s right. The usual set of letter stationary and envelopes. Yeah, one pure white one.”
Rollo: “…Hehehe, I think so too. Letters are good even if they’re considered anachronistic.”
Rollo: “It's not as convenient as email or phone calls, but it saves you time and avoids using careless words.”
Rollo: “What? There are other sets similar to this one from other manufacturers? …No, the usual is fine.”
Rollo: “Changing the format of the letter mid-way through the process can be confusing. Because things have to be consistent.”
Rollo: “…Yes, certainly. As always, thank you very much. See you.”

Rollo: “…A good shopkeeper. As expected of the residents of the town who love the righteous judge.”
Rollo: “As a student of Noble Bell College, I must follow by example.”
Rollo: “…This city is easy to spend time in. The people are nice, and the scenery is beautiful.”

Look if Disney actually DID end up releasing Nimona as they intended it to be, we wouldve gotten Raya and the Last Dragon.
So many nuances and plot points in Nimona would've gotten translated into what became RATLD.
Friends to sword fighting enemies to friends again, with homosexual undertones? Raya. Found family in inconvenient circumstances? Raya. Cheesy animal based humor and changing forms from animal to human? Still Raya.
But here's the thing. One of these movies is amazing and stunning and conveys such a beautiful and heartfelt story and the other one is Raya. You forget Raya a couple days after watching it at max.
Raya, or just Disney themselves, were cowardly. While two female strong POC leads should've been insanely revolutionary, it was cowardly. The most liberty Disney was ACTUALLY willing to take with these characters is make them a little mean and throw out some jokes, cashing out on that reputation rather than exploring it or making it mean... anything. Stakes were low despite seeming high, the movie left you with little feeling. Like you've seen it before and you will again and nothing is really that revolutionary.
If Disney had released Nimona, we would've just gotten RATLD. Ballister and Ambrosius wouldn't have said "I love you" or forgiven each other and absolutely wouldn't have kissed, because Raya and Namaari hardly came close to ANY of that. Nimona wouldn't have said "But i'm not a girl, i'm a Shark" or any of her iconic lines, because there was absolutely no way Disney would've let Sisu say "But im not a girl, im a dragon."

The cruel irony of Disney, a company that used to be known for Happily Ever Afters & overall wholesome family-friendly shows/movies, absolutely butchered & disrespected Reylo's story just boggles my mind. They really looked at what Rian Johnson did with TLJ & and said, "Let's ruin EVERYTHING" just because the internet had the equivalent of a temper tantrum mixed with a mental breakdown over Luke not being this perfect Jedi that he was in the Old Canon/Legends continuity.
They must've mentally blocked out all of Yoda's warnings to Luke about the consequences of using the dark side.
Like when he flat out told Luke & us as the audience that if Luke used the dark side, it would start him down the dark path. Forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you it will. As it did Obi-Wan's apprentice. This proved to be true when Luke's use of the dark side allowed him to overcome & defeat Vader. But at the cost of changing his destiny. This is further explored in TLJ when Luke tries to kill Ben in order to stop him from becoming Kylo Ren in the future.
Sooo we're just gonna ignore that the biggest difference between Darth Vader and Kylo Ren is what Luke sensed in them? People lack critical thinking & literary analysis skills, and it shows.
Luke to Darth Vader - "I've accepted you were once Anakin Skywalker, my father. It is the name of your true self. You've only forgotten. I know there is good in you. The emperor hasn't driven it from you fully. That was why you couldn't destroy me. That's why you won't bring me to your emperor now."
Luke continues on. "Come with me."
Luke walks toward Vader, his eyes hopeful and determined. "Search your feelings father, you can't do this. I feel the conflict within you let go of your hate."
Vader responds with such overwhelming sadness, "It is too late for me, son..."
Luke: "Then my father is truly dead."
Luke: "Your thoughts betray you, father. I sense the good in you. The conflict"
Vader: "There is no conflict."
Yet, when he looks into Ben's mind, he sees darkness. He's an unreliable narrator as well to Rey, who has to force the truth of what happened to Ben out of him.
Luke: "I saw darkness. I sensed it building him in moments during his training. But then I looked inside, and it was beyond what I ever imagined. Snoke had already turned his heart. He would bring destruction and pain and death and the end of everything I love because of what he will become. And in the briefest moment of pure instinct, I thought I could stop it. It passed like a fleeting shadow. And I was left with shame and consequence. And the last thing I saw was the eyes of a frightened boy whose master had failed him."
Rey believes in Ben being their last hope, and she was right in the end. She was also right to tell Luke that his fatal mistake was believing Ben's choice was made already. It wasn't.
Rey & Ben found belonging in one another in TLJ and had that story been given a proper conclusion with lots of kisses, sex and all that good stuff, then we would've had a future that truly lives forever instead of one that's a pathetic shell of what it could've been.

i can’t enjoy she hulk shitting on redditors and man babies etc bc it all feels so insincere tbh like you admit there’s rampant misogyny and racism but that’s another story and yet made it a point to slim down she hulk, made her hair and face like perfectly coiffed and conventionally pretty in she hulk form, shoved in 50 million cameos bc you knew she couldn’t rate the way you’d want her to without them (imo she still didn’t even with them milking them fuck outta matt’s appearance) and her entire show revolves around “why can’t i find a MAN thaT LOVES MEEEE” yes very empowering very not forced and natural
