Some wips for an mlp storyline I have planned! Keep in mind this will be an au so forgive me if when it’s done and I share it it may not be completely accurate but I’ll try my best!!
Some info on them so far, the First three are employees at pinkies party parlour she opened in the storyline, I’ve not decided if this au will have stuff like swearing in it or not but it definitely is mostly wholesome!!
The first pony is a henna artist (she/her) who got her cutie mark by doing henna on her aunt to calm her down from her pre wedding anxiety, it successfully calmed her. She often practices henna on herself as she loves the process and holds it dear to her as it reminds her of all the celebrations she’s had with her family in the past, during the storyline she often does henna for birthday parties, she’s an amputee as she was born without a left back leg but often she likes doodling on the empty spaces of it (she’s a chronic doodler), she enjoys fruits and vegetables, mainly boiled carrots!
Second is an electric violinist (she/her) who was very good at classical as she did grow up in a wealthy household of classical music prodigies however she hated the and feel sound of a classical violin, she much preferred the range of an electrical violin and how dramatic and the wide range it has, luckily her choice in wanting to go into less classical music did not strain her relationship with her family and if anything they enjoy bragging about how out of the box she was willing to be with music (note, I know that they aren’t exactly much different but her parents were very much used to boring, slow and traditional instruments such as piano and normal violin so hearing an electric violin incorporated into things like rock or pop stuff gets their hearts racing and gets them giddy to question her choice when most answers are the same as a non electric violin player would answer lmao), she works at the party parlour as the conductor and violinist!
Third is The mountain birthday goat (they/she), all the other employees only know that they were found by pinkie by the edge of the everfree forest on their birthday, left after pinkie pie threw her a party and started coming back to ponyville whenever they heard it was someone’s birthday also bringing along a surprising amount of good luck the the birthday pony, pinkie pie realised the mountain goat was often going back to the everfree forest so offered an assistant party planner role to them. They don’t speak however they do dance to happy birthday, they like sweets a lot and really hate having their wool being cut so they have a large thick layer of wool on them which has contributed to their outfit being sprinkles as their top layer of fur is while and looks like icing!

apricot doodles! (@chasani) despite having litterally just been the first thing that came to mind i am deciding on apricot as his final name~ its cute and i feel it fits his personality fsr~
anyway!! i like to do lots of doodle sheets with my characters so that i can play around with their body language and expressions as well as learn to draw them more efficiently: it's really fun and its great practice! if you struggle with like, drawing a character without a lot of sketching before hand, i'd say this kind of just fill a page with doodles of them excercise can be very helpful :DD
this has been sitting in my wips for a while, ive never done a lineless piece as ambitious as this and im not sure how to go about it, if anyone knows any artists that do cartoony lineless scenes like this please lmk!!! esspecially any speedpaints/timelapses

so i just found your youtube channel like a few minutes ago and I really enjoyed your video talking about different types of social media and your own personal experience/opinions on them because ive been bouncing back and forth between social medias. I personally miss the old twitter and instagram format but ever since instagram has been turned into a reel-obsessed platform it is very difficult to get reach there so i think twitter has been my most safest/casual posting experience for me. i felt like on instagram i had so much pressure to post reels and i never gave in but it was just super frustrating, sometimes really wanting to just completely leave it entirely, but for now i guess im trying to just post more. im not a tumblr user really but i had this tumblr acc ages ago so i decided to log back in just to message here, but i wanted to ask, if theres any way we can talk further abt this privately i would love to go more in depth ! i dont check tumblr often so im not even sure if you will ever answer this haha, or how i would know if you did or not, but i guess a question that also comes to mind is, how do you post without overthinking? i have so much art i make so many doodles and unfinished wips, and people post wips all the time ! and its like, i cannot bring myself to do that either... im scared of someone either tracing over my art/stealing my art /ocs and just im not sure i guess posting wips makes me not want to finish the art, but when i dont post often i often feel pressure to post fully rendered stuff and sometimes ! i just wanna post a cute furry oc with thigh socks is that so much to ask !!!!!!! so my input on avoiding overthinking b4 you post is to start sharing your work in smaller places to build up your confidence! if you're worried about tracing/stealing, i don't want to say that's not a legitimate concern, bc it IS, however i will say it really doesn't happen too often! ive been around for years and i dont think ive...ever had anyone trace me, the most i've seen is heavy referencing and usually if you bring it to their attention, they instantly stop - when this happens i say it's 70% of the time just young kids that don't realize what theyre doing is wrong or didnt realize youd find out.
you can also watermark your work! theres nothing wrong with watermarks, even if its just on a sketch! while it cant necessarily guard against tracers, it can guard against blatant theft.
you dont necessarily have to post your work in progresses if doing so demotivates you; but you dont have to exclusively post fully rendered art, either. try to get into a habit of making doodles n more simple art in between your big pieces, and get into the swing of posting those! if you feel like you havent posted in a while, just make a quick doodle or something along those lines and share that!
you can build up your confidence with posting online in general by starting small - you could start by sharing your art in discord servers or with your friends so you get more confident about sharing your work regularly.
"ill do this when i'm good enough" is a SUPER detrimental train of thought...bc there will never be a point where you'll admit to yourself that you feel like you're ready. that's just a part of the artistic progression :') if you have that mindset, you'll ALWAYS have that mindset, and you'll never actually do the projects that you want to! if you think its outside your ability, it probably isnt really, and you should give it a go anyways! even if it doesnt look perfect or turn out exactly how you wanted it to, you'll probably still be happy in the end bc u gave it your best effort :]

if you know how to code w html, all you have to do is press "edit profile" on a character and you can code directly into the big box field! if you're not seeing that, it has to do with your settings (which i can explain more in depth if need be)
if you ARENT familiar w html, thats fine too! you can find a TON of free to use toyhouse code templates, and a lot of them even explain exactly how to use them! basically you can copy and paste their code for free into your character profile, and just change the text so it fits your character :3 i have a favorite folder for all the neat free to use codes i see, here's a link: https://toyhou.se/Qwizz/favorites/79962 *my toyhouse is kind of eyestrainy btw!)

What book are you currently reading?
Brisingr (for those who’ve never heard of it, the third book in the series Eragon starts). I’ve read it few times before, but it’s been a while since I last did it. Still love the series.
Also there’s Mariel of Redwall, with which I’ve been stuck for more than six months now. It is dangerous to re-read a book for a millionth of time when you remember that oh no, next is the part you don’t care about.
What’s your favorite movie you saw in theaters this year?
I only went to see one movie in theaters in 2022 (yeah it’s already 2023, shut up), and it was Sonic 2. I did go see it 3 whopping times, so it’s pretty safe to say it’d be my favourite even if there were any others.
What do you usually wear?
Uhhhh hoodies, fitting tank tops or t-shirts, loose pants. Colors vary, mostly black but there can be others.
How tall are you?
169cm.
What’s your Star Sign? Do you share a birthday with a celebrity or a historical event?
Libra. I do not know, Trafalgar Law from One Piece is close enough to a celebrity for me.

I choose to think this refers to irl, so name. My dad is literally the only one to ever call me nicknames or pet names.
Did you grow up to become what you wanted to be when you were a child?
I never really wanted to be anything but a tango queen when I was a kid, and that was when I was 4 or so. So, I guess ‘no idea’ came true.
Are you in a relationship? If not who is your crush if you have one?
Nope. Also no crushes.
What’s something you’re good at vs something you’re bad at?
Uhhh I guess I’m kinda good at drawing and writing? Maybe? Good is such a vague term. I do enjoy those, and I think that’s more important than being ‘’’good’‘‘ at things.
I am bad at playing any instruments. Too many things you’re supposed to do simultaneously with your body.
Dogs or cats?
Cats!!!! Dogs are also good, but cats make me more stupidly happy than any other creatures I’ve met.
If you draw/write, or create in any way, what’s your favorite picture/favorite line/favorite etc. from something you created this year?
I have drawn some pretty good pictures this year, but I haven’t posted them online and I don’t feel like doing that now either. I do enjoy one undead wolf knight thingy I drew. I also like (still partly wip) doll’s bed I made a lot. I have written a lot, but isolating a single line is impossible.
What’s something you would like to create content for?
Currently I’d like to doodle all of my favourite One Piece characters, but we’ll see when I’ll get to that. I have also been redrawing my oldest ocs with the same kids’ color pencils and other stuff as 20 years ago, and it’s been lots of fun. Overall I wanna work on my original projects more.
What’s something you’re currently obsessed with?
Stardew Valley and Sonic Frontiers. Too bad I already completed the latter, I am waiting for the dlc’s to come. Also obsessed about my original projects.
What’s something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?
Dissapointment is for those who do not know how to keep their expectations and excitement realistic.
Jokes aside, I am honestly fairly good at being realistic about things I’m interested in, and it is a very rare occasion I am actually dissapointed about something I was excited for first, and it didn’t happen in 2022.
What’s a hidden talent of yours?
It wouldn’t be hidden if I told you, would it. Tbh, I have no idea. Organizing material things maybe? Keep your timetables and whatnot away from me, but let me rearrange those messy drawers and closets of yours.
Are you religious?
Nah. I am slightly spiritual pagan of my own brand though.
Whats something you wish to have at this moment?
Does not-ill body and mind free of constant anxiety count? If not, then Freedom Planet 2 Switch port would be nice, but that won’t be out before next summer.

thank you for sending this in!! i meant to answer it AGES ago but im terrible at answering asks lmao <3 but anyway here we (finally) are
2. Anything that you’d like to write but feel like you’re unable to?
ohhhh goodness. there isnt anything off the top of my head that's like. an idea that feels like a pipe dream, if that makes sense? i have a lot of story ideas in my head almost constantly, and if i end up not writing them its more often because theres not enough meat on the metaphorical bones to go anywhere, or that ive started writing it and gotten blocked or bored- not that im unable to write them
obviously there are stories that, as a cis white woman, aren't mine to write, and stories that i feel uncomfortable digging into alone because of my lack of personal experience with the subject matter, but i don't know if that's necessarily what the question is asking- because it's less of a story that i'd like to write but am unable to, and more of a story i'd like to read, and am unable to write- if that distinction makes sense?
in a larger sense, there are genres and styles of storytelling i kind of want to write but don't know how- large scale sci fi, anything with a depth of world building, vivid historicals, etc- but more often than not, im drawn creatively to the things i can create, because they're more fufilling for me to explore
19. Share a snippet from a wip without giving any context for it.
Fig glanced down at the doodle of Ayda’s eyes, peering up at her curiously from between two scrawled lyrics. She snapped her notebook shut.
I’m just tired, she told herself.
She shoved her notebook back in her pocket and grabbed her guitar by its neck, climbing down the ladder one-handed with practiced ease. She shuffled back to her bunk and collapsed into bed. Jamina was already asleep, her loud buzzing snores filling the whole room.
Fig told herself that was why she couldn’t fall asleep. Why she spent the whole night staring up at the hammock above her, tapping a familiar beat against her thigh.
But even Fig, the consummate deceiver, couldn’t believe her own lie.

20. Do you work on a single project or many at the same time? How does that work for you?
oh i have SO many wips simultaneously. so many.
i like to jump around a lot, i've found it helps keep me from getting blocked for too long, if i have other projects i can jump to when im feeling uncertain about one, or not in the mood for the story/genre/scene- i tend to stick really strictly to writing chronologically, bc otherwise i never finish things, and so i can keep multiple metaphorical writing plates spinning at one time bc i know where all of them are going- to a lesser or greater extent- cause they're all on a clean timeline in my head !!
according to my annual word count google sheet, ive got abt 7 wips in various stages of completion- but i've also got a bunch of idea docs and notes and unused concepts swirling in my head pretty much all the time that i just havent actually sat down and written yet (i've also got like 6 wips for a non-fic oc type thing that i dont post i just like to write about when im in the mood, that i bounce around between !!)
a lot of the time ill get Really Into one project and work on it for days or even weeks in a stretch, but sometimes i get blocked or bored!! and its really nice to just have a bunch of different things on the backburner that i can go and read through and add a little onto while im looking for inspo <3
23. Dialogue or description? Why is the other one so hard?
god. truly i think it depends on the fic. i feel like every scene i write either starts with a really vivid mental image, or a really clear idea for a conversation/ inner monologue, and what i find easy to write depends on that dichotomy of inspiration- description for the former, and dialogue for the latter. if i don't know exactly what the setting looks like or what the energy of the space is, i tend to write the dialogue first and let the setting fill itself in organically, and if i dont have a strong grasp of characters voices as im writing, ill usually dig into the space and the circumstances and the narrator's thoughts until i find a hook!
that, or rewatching/rereading scenes and moments where character voices are really vivid so i can get them In My Head
