I feel like this one is hard to answer, not because I don't have things I'm not writing but because a lot of what is on my "write this someday maybe" list is stuff I'm not entirely ruling out not writing. Wow, that had way too many negatives in it.
Anyway. So there's stuff on my ideas list that I just haven't gotten to yet because I am trying to knock some current WIPs off my WIP list and I've promised myself I am not starting a story I know will be novel-length until I've finished something else. (Unfortunately, I accidentally a novel for two of my current WIPs. Whoops.)
So that section of the WIP list has a lot of stuff that's, like, fully outlined -- not quite down to the scene-by-scene level but in enough detail that I could start writing. This would be, like, "the story where Steve time-travels from the future to meet ToS-era Tony before the Avengers exist and they fall in love -- I mean, Steve was already in love -- and then Steve has to leave before the Avengers form, and a couple months later Tony is very surprised to learn that Captain America is alive and also he's been banging Captain America from the future." I could start writing that right now. It would absolutely be a novel.
There's stuff that I'd like to write that's pretty well fleshed out as a premise but not currently writable, because of things like I haven't yet figured out exactly how the POV works. This is, like, "the BDSM AU where the serum was supposed to make Steve a dom and it did not and he decides he can just lie about it and never tell anyone he is a sub, because then they will kick him out of the army, and then he has entirely different problems when he gets to the future because wow does he like Tony." Also a story I would describe as "Secret Empire canon-divergent AU with wall-to-wall non-con" but I also haven't figured out how the POV works or how any of the comfort in the h/c works but I know how to break Steve and Tony very, very badly. I just can't put them back together yet. Also those would both be novel-length.
And then there's stuff on my ideas list that I just come up with randomly that I think might be fun, because I am apparently just very fond of generating elaborate sex farce plots on the fly, and there's nothing wrong with them but there's also no immediately compelling reason why I should write them right now. Like "the one where Steve extremely earnestly asks Tony if Tony would like him to send nudes and Tony's not sure if Steve's trolling him and somehow Steve and Tony end up in a situation in which Steve sends Tony artistic and photogenic dick pics every day and Tony can't figure out if Steve means for Tony to jerk off to them or just admire them for their artistic merit because they're actually very well-composed and elegant and Steve doesn't say. Tony feels like he can't just ask Steve this because he thinks this is the kind of thing he's probably already supposed to know about their relationship, you know, whether they're in any way involved with each other. So in the meantime he's just going to die of lust and also frustration." I might write it! I might not! It's fun to ponder, anyway.
So, yeah, those are some things I'm not writing.

2. Which of your WIPs is currently the longest?
Epistaxis Anime at almost 27k
3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?
Probably EA but Guesswork is already at 12k and I'm not 100% sure where it's going to end up. Also Limelight was originally planned to clock in at 20k but chapter 1 is already like 8k so....... we'll see.
4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?
This rotates lmao which is probably why I never seem to finish anything adfsdf. I have a lot of fun with many of these but especially (in no particular order): MikeFoggy fake dating, Gentleman Caller, Limelight, Chintz, EA, and Guesswork
5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?
This also rotates and is mostly because if I start writing something too well I feel pressure to keep it up. Right now on my list of "omg what will i do if i fuck this up" fics are Chintz, Limelight, and mikefoggy.
6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?
Again, this rotates!! I am struck by crippling self-doubt about like every 500 words (at least) of any WIP.
7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?
I asked the lovely @iheartallthethings to give Guesswork chapter 2 a quick read-over because I've never actually been to a bar mitzvah and she was very helpful!
8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?

9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?
If Saint Anthony counts as an OC then him lmao. I only have like 500 words of him but he's great.
10. Which WIP is the sexiest?
Chintz!
11. Which WIP is the angstiest?
Don't Give Yourself This Excuse. It's literally suicidal!Matt so. boom.
12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)?
Either Guesswork or Limelight probably.
13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?
I'm pretty partial to the opening scenes in Limelight and Gentleman Caller, but also the opening to Chintz is gonna knock all your socks off!
14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?
Ooh, difficult to say. I've definitely put a lot of hours into EA but probably Guesswork or Limelight. I rewrote parts of Guesswork chapter 2 like five times and it was awful lol.
15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why?
Limelight because I love the movie it's based on and if I can capture even a quarter of that magic it's gonna be fantastic.
16. Do you dream about any of your WIPs?
Nope, my dreams don't usually go where I'd like them to.
17. Do any of your WIPs have particular complexities that your other fics don't?
Guesswork because it's sensitive subject matter (lingering trauma) seen through the lens of a character who hasn't experienced it himself and therefore doesn't understand it/keeps fucking up because of it.
18. Which WIP is the funniest or has the most humour?
mikefoggy and Gentleman Caller, although Limelight is also pretty funny in parts. oh and EA is delightful if I do say so myself.
19. Do any of your WIPs contain outside POVs or a deep dive on a character other than the main ship? How are you finding that process?
Saint Anthony is an outside POV (partially anyway, it alternates between him and Matt) and it's fun to see things through the eyes of someone who has much less stake in what's happening while Matt's tearing New York apart.
20. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs.
Don't Give Yourself This Excuse's title and idea were taken from Peaky Blinders. Tommy's sister Ada tells him that after some kids were blown up in a bomb meant for him and his enterprise and she's afraid he'll act on his suicidal tendencies because of it.

Hi there! Do you know of any particularly good Daredevil comics panels featuring Steve Rogers or Tony Stark, or even just... general DD comics where they show up so I can do the research myself? One of my best fandom friends for decades is huge into comics Steve/Tony and has been sending me every great Iron Man panel with Matt and/or Foggy in it, and I'd very much like to return the favor. I want our comics to make friends too. :D
I love that, and I can absolutely give you some panels and issues! Rather than showing full appearances, I’ll provide samples; you and your friend should check out the full issues. Click the link (this got long)...
Let’s start with Steve, who has had quite a few Daredevil cameos, starting in Daredevil Volume 1 #43. This is an issue-long fight (which I covered in this post), so have your friend check out the whole thing. Here’s a sample, featuring Steve getting embarrassed:

The next chunk of issues I’ll point out are Daredevil volume 1 #155-157. This is an exciting little story arc in which Matt gets a concussion and beats up the Champions. Cap doesn’t have a huge presence, but it’s still worth checking out.

Daredevil vol. 1 #155 by Roger McKenzie, Frank Robbins, Frank Springer, Bob Sharen, and Denise Wohl
This next one-- Daredevil volume 1 #233-- is a must-read. It’s a great issue in a great story arc, and has some absolutely superb Steve moments (Tony also has a tiny-but-neat cameo in this one). Here’s our guy very politely breaking the chain of command.

Steve: “Not just yet. Sub level six. The vault.”
Soldier: “Sir-- you aren’t cleared-- I can’t--”

Daredevil vol. 1 #233 by Frank Miller, David Mazzucchelli, Max Scheele, and Joe Rosen
Jumping forward, here is another excellent, Cap-heavy issue, this time from Nocenti’s run. In this stand-alone story, Matt and Steve do their best to protect an undocumented immigrant with a miraculous invention from being deported. Partway through the story, they have a somber conversation on tyranny and oppression in the US that I would say is probably essential reading for Captain America fans.

Steve: “How can they expect me to continue to wear the flag of a country that does such things? When Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense-- a book that helped inspire the American Revolution-- it was a call to throw off the tyranny of a monarchy, to get rid of the elite ruling class! And they did it! America gained her independence! But did she? Sometimes I think all we did was replace king and crown with the royal aristocracy of the corporate elite. Man is still tyrannized-- by the corporate kings.”
Daredevil vol. 1 #283 by Ann Nocenti, Mike Bagley, Christie Scheele, Clem Robins, et al.
For thoroughness, I will also mention that Cap plays a key role in Daredevil #326-332, a tech thriller story arc called “Tree of Knowledge”. A lot of Daredevil (well, superhero comics in general) from this period was of less-than-great quality, art-wise at least, and I don’t think there are any particularly excellent Cap panels, but it’s worth checking out. I did a post on a tiny bit of it here.
Moving on to Volume 2, I recommend checking out #65. This was the big 50th anniversary issue, and consists of several short stories, including a really nice one featuring a conversation between Matt and Steve. The issue came out soon after Matt’s secret identity had been leaked to the press, and so their conversation covers Matt’s misgivings and Steve’s advice on how to cope with this kind of upheaval.

Sadly, that’s pretty much it for Volume 2, but fortunately Volume 3 made up for it by giving us one of my favorite Cap vs. DD fights of all time, in Vol. 3 #2.

Daredevil vol. 3 #2 by Mark Waid, Paolo Rivera, Joe Rivera, Javier Rodriguez, and Joe Caramagna
In this issue, Matt has just return to New York after the events of “Shadowland”-- in which he got possessed by a demon and terrorized the city. He’s all better now, but Steve needs to be sure, and tries to take him in. A short but gorgeous fight follows. Again, I’ve blogged about this issue before, but check out the whole thing if you or your friend have not read it yet.
We’re jumping volumes again, just so I can point out Daredevil vol. 5 #4. It doesn’t have a ton of Steve in it, but it’s notable because it took place during the Old Steve Era, a period during which he reverted to his chronological age and became an old man.
The last issue I’m going to point out is actually a team-up one-shot: Daredevil and Captain America: Dead on Arrival.

You’re not one for social calls, so why don’t we cut the idle chit-chat and show all our hole cards. I like to hear the worst news first. Saves the useless suspense.”
Daredevil & Captain America: Dead on Arrival by Tito Faraci, Claudio Villa, Alexandra Hain-Cole, Larry Hama, and Dave Sharpe
This is a neat one-shot, in which Matt and Steve have to take down a vengeful, time-traveling Death Stalker.
Now for some Shellhead! Compiling this made me realize how criminally few appearances Tony Stark has had in Daredevil comics. He and Matt have teamed up a bunch of times, and even fought a few, but almost never in the pages of DD. He does have a few nice cameos, though, starting in Volume 1 #204, in which he appears in civvies and gets drunk at one of Foggy and Debbie Harris’s high society parties. For some context, this issue came out five years after the famous “Demon in a Bottle” Iron Man arc:

Jumping ahead, he has a very cool cameo in Volume 3 #15, one of my all-time favorite Daredevil story arcs. Matt, trapped in Latveria and trying to escape Dr. Doom’s clutches while nanobots in his brain are shutting down his senses, manages to activate his Avengers ID card to call for help. Tony arrives just in time to rescue him.

Tony: “Avengers, this is Iron Man! I have Daredevil, but he needs transport!”
Radio: “Roger that! We’re thirty seconds out!”

Tony: “Really?”

In the next issue, Tony brings comatose Matt back to his lab, where he, Hank Pym, and Stephen Strange work together to destroy the nanobots and restore Matt’s senses. It’s an excellent issue, and features this classic Tony moment:

I also want to highlight this neat little detail from the same issue-- Matt’s experience of Tony’s lab and unique heartbeat:

Matt: “You could drop Tony Stark naked in the middle of the desert and he’d fly out in a jet made of sand and cactus needles. It’s not his stuff that gives him power. It’s his brain. Try using yours. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.”
Daredevil vol. 5 #2 by Charles Soule, Ron Garney, Matt Milla, and Joe Caramagna
He has a few minor appearances in Volume 6 #22 and 24, but my favorite cameo in this volume is in #33. Elektra, operating as Daredevil, is faced with a group of Bullseye clones. Unable to hold off all of them, she fires a gun into the air, attracting some superhero back-up.

After rescuing Elektra and healing her up, Tony gives her some cool tech to use against the gang of Bullseye clones. It's great. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for more Tony cameos in the future, because he needs them.

Rules: Rec five of your own fics that you love, then tag five more people
I realized while trying to come up with this list of fics to rec that. I have written a lot of fics, lol - but I chose these five because I'm pretty proud of them and think they're fun.
The Lesser of Two Evils (AO3 Link) - MattFoggy
Foggy is a very complicated agnostic demon, whose power comes from making people compromise on their morals. Matt is a stubborn human who really hates compromising. Also they fall in love.
This one was a doozy, and took me an entire year to write, most of which was planning the lore and the ethical and moral differences between Lesser Evil and Greater Evil. It also has the plot I'm most proud of in all my fics, probably for the reason that I spent a year on it.
Other People's Blood (AO3 Link) - MattFoggy, onesided Dex/Foggy
Think of this kind of like an Earth-65 (Spider-Gwen) story a bit to the left. Matt was adopted by Fisk after his dad's murder, and Foggy was raised by Rosalind. They both turn out to be awful people, but in my humble opinion it's a delightful ride.
This one I wrote for the MattFoggy bang, with @neonbrutalism as my artist and fellow architect for the AU. It's definitely a bit outside my usual content, but it was so much fun to push it to that evil evil drama place.
Forget Me Not With Every Breath (AO3 Link) - MattFoggy
Ok, first off don't read this one until you've read @missmoochy's fic A Flower Cannot Blossom Without Sunshine, And Man Cannot Live Without Love because this is a direct sequel to that.
It's a Hanahaki AU where Matt tries to bravely soldier through the disease while attempting to rekindle Foggy's surgically removed love for him. Basically, the ending to Moochy's fic broke my heart and I needed to write a fix-it.
Matt Murdock’s Evil Internship for Struggling Superheroes (AO3 Link) - Gen, Gwen & Murderdock
Technically, this one is a part of my SV2 series, which picks up after the Into the Spider-Verse movie and explores/expands on the universes presented in that movie. However, so long as you have a cursory knowledge of Spider-Gwen, it can probably stand on its own.
Gwen needs to protect her dad from charges leveled against him, and makes a deal with her greatest nemesis in order to do so. This story details the beginning of Gwen's saga as Murderdock's apprentice.
It's something I wanted to write about ever since I first read the Spider-Gwen comics - the relationship between these two is really fascinating and comes with a lot of nuance. Also it's just enjoyable to play them off of each other.
The Ghosts of Matthew Murdock (AO3 Link) - MattFoggy or Matt&Foggy, could be interpreted either way
It's the Halloween after Matt's death at Midland Circle, and Foggy is being haunted by the ghost of his best friend. He meets visions of Matt at various ages, and speaks to them.
This one, I remember writing in five hours straight through a haze of tears - it's something I think I really desperately wanted to explore, and serves as both a character study for my interpretation of NMCU Matt, but also as a way to process my thoughts about his relationship to Foggy. It was incredibly cathartic, and I'm pretty proud of the quality considering how fast I dashed it off.

Summary:
Matt expects to live out a life of happy challenge and car theft with Elektra. He settles into being her disaster. Then she's gone, and with Foggy's help, he has to figure out who he is without her.
Losing yourself in a relationship is simple. Finding yourself is not.

Love Across The Multiverse! It's always fascinated me because it's this cracktastic premise with emotional seriousness layered throughout it: how did this story come about (and what else would you like to say about it? :D)
That one was fun! It was for Cap-IM Bingo. I had the square "aliens made them do it," and it was really stumping me, because when I thought about Marvel Comics, I couldn't really think of any aliens who would want to make anyone have sex. Sure, there are Skrull invasion plotlines every few years, but mostly the aliens just want to... kill them and take over the Earth. And I would have felt a little guilty making up aliens in this situation because for me one of the fun things about writing in a canon with so much canon is being able to find the perfect detail and the person who has also read That One Comic is going to be so excited because they know what's coming before anyone else does.
Anyway, then the Cap-IM IRC channel (this was back when they, uh, existed) pointed out that Mojoworld would totally make people have sex if they could make a reality TV show out of it, which is not exactly canon (mostly they're into making people fight each other), but it seemed plausible to me. So, yeah. Mojo makes them do it!
This then gave rise to a separate plotting problem, which was the "making them do it" part. The dub-con element, as it were. And I couldn't really get this to work for 616 Steve/Tony because they didn't seem like characters who would dubcon each other, by which I mean that if aliens made them have sex they would be All Over That. Gosh, Cap! The aliens want us to fuck? That's won-- terrible. How dare they. But I guess, you know. If we have to. For the mission. It wouldn't really be... a hardship, actually. You will note the epilogue where I brought 616 Steve/Tony in and they are totally in favor of that.
So obviously if they're completely into it from the get-go, the narrative wouldn't really have the same kind of charge. So I thought about it and decided that the version of canon where they might just need... a little push... would be Ults. (Probably it would work with MCU but I don't really write MCU; I'm sad that Alestar never finished the MCU remix of this because it was so great.) Apparently Mojo also exists in Ults but I think as a human; this is why I made Tony say he knows a guy with that name.
So to kind of lampshade everything I made it a plot where Mojoworld fucked up the universe numbers and wanted 616 but got 1610. Easy mistake, really. (The reason they couldn't have had 616 anyway is that at that point in 616, Steve was dead, post-Civil War. So, y'know, any Captain America will do.)
Anyway, yeah, so this is a story where Ults Steve figures out he's queer when aliens make him have sex with Tony. Definitely a thing that really happens to real people. We can all relate to this. I basically wanted to space it out and ramp up the UST and take him on a journey from "I am not going to do this" to "actually this is amazing."
I just really like to take wacky premises and play them completely seriously. It's probably one of my favorite things about fanfic. They may be starring in alien porn but all the feelings are real because there's no reason the feelings shouldn't be real. It's very Comics. Sometimes you are reccing people comics and you realize you're saying things like "this is a great comic where Tony finally deals with his feelings about his father because he's in hell and his father is a demon and he's fighting him while the devil sits there watching and eating popcorn." So why not just take the feelings seriously? Make Steve feel vulnerable!
As a writing tip, I would definitely not recommend writing a sex scene where one character is in another room listening to the other character jerk off for the camera because I was like "oh my God, I only get one sense to work with for this entire sex scene, and it's not even, like, a phone sex scene so they're not interacting in any way, this is a terrible challenge" and I did not actually realize what I was letting myself in for. It's difficult.

End of year fanfic asks: 9, 14, 15, 21, 28?
9. longest wip of the year
Because I’ve split it into a series to make myself feel better, it technically doesn’t LOOK like a WIP, but it for sure is; my SV2/Spider-Verse 2 series is the longest by far. I think my word doc compiling it all has almost hit 90k words. I’ve wanted to post more, but I think it’ll have to wait until next year since I’m busy with events right now.
14. a fic you didn’t expect to write
Hearth and Home, definitely. Honestly, in the year of our lord 2021, who ever thought the Doc Ock thirst would reawaken in me? It’s been a long time since I wrote Canon Character/OC fic as well, so I’m surprised and heartened that I’ve been able to do it again without stressing too badly or cringing at myself.
15. something you learned this year
MONTHLY CHALLENGES ARE JUST AS TERRIFYING AS THEY SEEM FROM THE OUTSIDE. But, also… I think things like Whumptober are good to force you to just, write. I’m very proud of the pieces I put out in my Whumptober series (even if I do technically have two days left to fill) and it was a lot of fun doing the challenge alongside friends like @stripedscribe and @missmoochy
21. most memorable comment/review
Oh god. You have to understand, because fandom is so prolific in their comments, like true champs, I’ve got over 30 pages of comments in my AO3 inbox just from this year. And my brain is definitely not big enough to remember all the really wonderful ones.
But most recent in my mind is a comment left on my unfinished, several-years-old-now F/F Bagginshield fic, The King and Her Damosels. I did maybe genuinely cry a little bit while reading it. This part in particular really got me in the heart:
“I don't know if you'll even see this comment. But I wanted to leave it anyways, because this just made a pretty mediocre day in a pretty terrible year absolutely fantastic, and I felt like that shouldn't go unsaid. I hope you're doing well.”
It was such a lovely reminder that even the things we don’t end up finishing can still make someone’s day — and I think that’s really what fandom is all about.
28. longest fic you read this year
The award goes to @iheartallthethings with To the Realm of the Sky, which is a whopper of a fic, an emotional roller coaster, and an absolute delight.
