(lovely anon) i'm so happy to finally be answering this oh my goodness hi gorgeous human being i feel that it has been too long 🥲 SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED SINCE THE LAST TIME I'VE WRITTEN ONE OF THESE HOW HAVE YOU BEEN
to answer the things you have said most recently- i'm so mad that spring break is over bc now i have to go back to life??? like dancing and school and shit that feels so unnessacry 😭 and like i can't just do nothing anymore? i was so used to it and now...... ugh. i STILL haven't played sims (i think it's because ✨depression✨ be hitting sometimes) lol but MWAHAH IM SO HAPPY FOR YOUR NEIGHBOR!AU AND THAT THEY HAD LITTLE BABY LEO!! i feel the name thing.. i just come up with something that sounds nice? i think leo is a nice name, it makes me think about lea michele and the fact that her son's name is Ever Leo but anyway. i don't name my sims after what i want to name my children irl either... idk why though. (i don't know why i'm telling you this but for boy names i love Liam🥰 and if i had twin boys i think i would do Liam and Peter though i am not married to the name Peter.... anywho)
LMAOOO the therpaist coming made me laugh thank you :)) i hope it's helpful? this may be tmi but i've only really had negative thoughts recently and not many healthy outlets so i'm hoping crossing one thing off this sad list will make me feel better :') i think during spring break my anxiety and my depression really spiked? idk, it comes in episodes but yeah THIS GOT REALLY SAD
i think a lot of things when i read your posts but i never say them hahaha so imma say it now: i googled what bon appetit meant ( i also just had to google how to spell it ) but ur right, i feel like bone apple tea makes more sense than bone apple teeth.. the "th" is throwing me off bc how i say it bone appa (like app-a) teet (like you're saying tit but teet lol) so bone apple tea makes more sense to me lol
i never know really know the time difference for anything lmao but est to germany (that's not gmt is it?) is like 6 hours wOAH so it's like 9pm while it’s 3pm here? wowee
i feel mega weird after watching this show called hollywood (darren criss is in it, so is laura harrier and a bunch of other people) but i don't like it💀 i feel really icky rn and idk why but reading your last response to my ask (?) always makes me feel better :')
i am doing what you said btw, i'm typing this on my computer first then gonna transfer it to my phone's tumblr lol but when you said a digital detox, it's interesting cuz i feel like i've been having one since tom's new project was announced? gOD i don't wanna get into it bc i get so triggered but i've been off of instagram since then bc instagram stans literally stand by tom through whatever even when something ain't right- i’m just gonna leave it there bc i’ll continue the rant, but yeah so i took a break lol
also heard abt your driving lesson thing (?) was it that bad? i can't find the old post but someone asked if you hooked up with your lesson person and i was sOOO CONFUSED LMAOO LIKE OK ARIA GET SOME BUT UHH HUH?
now to address the actual response HAHA the way you touch my heart :') by :') bringing :') up :') halle :') being ariel :') (i honest to God don't remember if i brought this up first, forgive me if i did, it's been a minute lmao) i'm always talking about it and i'm pretty sure my family is so tired of me talking about it lmao, but YEAH when i found out they weren't twins i was so surprised but idk why i always thought they were twins? but YOU ARE SPEAKING MY LANGUAGE WITH THE DISNEY TALK- everyone is always like "tiana is my favorite princess" and yea she's strong and stuff but...... she was a frog. for almost the whole time. it's about time we got another one!! i do agree with some people on the fact that disney should just make another black princess but halle is adorable and i was ariel on stage so it's already really special to me :')
yeah lol there are good times with my brothers but they make me mad for a good portion of the time (there's the 12yo vincent and the 7yo daniel but vincent??? psshhh he is a piece of work and i'm not sure how much longer i can put up with him HAJAH AND YES VINCENT IS THE ONE WHO WAS 👁👄👁WHEN I CRIED AND THE ONE WHO DOESN'T LISTEN TO MUSIC- writing this now makes it sound like vincent is awful. which he isn't... we're working on him ig. not to add to the awfulness but no, he listens to obnoxious loud VIDEO GAME MUSIC and won't stop when we ask him to stop... he gets beat up a lot) anyway i imagine being an only child is really calming.. like you have time to yourself and its just you and your parents 😌
yeah let me know if you end up watching it (wandavision)! i think it's great but if you like it lmk!! tfatws is sooo good like PHEW i am honestly loving it. sidenote: j*hn w*lker makes me wanna jump through the screen and choke him to the ground. i was thinking right, and the falcon and the winter soldier (THATS SO MUCH EASIER FAJHKDAH) would techinally be like a 10 hour movie right? because every episode is an hour long and there'll be 10 episodes? like wow. i get what you mean though, abt the racism in the show etc, like looking forward to it but not like..... no i get what you mean i will not try and give another example lol but you make me wanna learn more languages like really badly (bc of what you said about the german to american translation) & if you end up watching hamilton PLEASE LMK ABT THAT TOO HAHAHA i love it so much, same thing with lion king lmaoo
speaking of germany, i was at lunch on saturday with my mom and her friend and we were talking about my schooling and like-- she planted this idea in my head lol like what if i just got my GED and went around the world (to england probably) to get a theatre experience??? and i think it sounds so cool but no where near practical lol, it's just..... the dream haha and i would then try and learn a language 😉
uh yes we absolutely should order basically a resturant meal at a cinema, how about burgers, chips (fries), and a large drink? any time next week works for me, should i pick you up?
also about cherry (which i still haven't watched yet lol) i got the timestamps from tumblr😌 i couldn't find them anywhere else, but i agree, i probably wouldn't even look twice at cherry if tom wasn't in it? like i liked tdatt a lot, but it's not a movie i would be itching to see ya know?
HAHAHAHA THE 24 HOUR NOTIFICATION- i think i have around 1030 hours on sims? but i've had it since 2019 lmao (reading the screenshots, yes u are 100% a genuis, i take screenshots too but on anon you can't upload them so i just read them and retype what i wrote lmao) i think the university experience in the game is fun, but time consuming and it's all work imo. idk why i do it so often tho 😭😭😭
and agreed!! when you're making good money in the game you have to find other ways to make it interesting. my cousins who play it just continously do "motherlode" and i'm like.... then what do you do in your game?? it just sounds boring to me... my current sims household, i had a famous comedian sim, her name was dylan, aND SORRY IM LAUGHING SO HARD WHILE WRITING THIS BC ITS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF THE UNI THING UNLESS IM JUST DUMB, she went to college for communications when i wanted her to be a comedian and when she graduated i realized that degree did nothing for the career 🥲 so yeah, i think i'm just dumb. but she had a kid in college, guy didn't stick around and she was pretty broke HA but then she got married to this (great) guy named steve, made good bank, had 5 more kids (two sets of twins and one more lol) but then she passed. uhm... yeah that's still an open wound . lol i'm kidding, but when you get rich like that, you have to find a way to make the game interesting and i chose a million kids.
(this was one giant paragraph until i broke it up uhh yeah) i seriously don't pay attention to the sims prices and just end up spending way too much money and not being able to finish the rest of the house😭 but then again, i'm so used to having sims live in apartments... if i end up building a house FIRST OF ALL it'll look like what you explained before lmao but i'll tell you if i actually end up building a house HAHA & planning out your sims game is so fun to me lol, did enisa and michael take in his daughter yet? i may be thinking too far ahead lol and i love that they fucked woohooed (i say woo woo lol) in celebration HAHA but when i was playing with this one couple i had them woo woo every night hoping the dude would have horrible pull out game and they would concieve, but one night they were too tired and i was like why? get back in there man. if i was in college and lived with my partner we would be fucking every night homie. be grateful. i have been talking a lot about sims, and like you said: enough 💀 i just love this game a lot 😭😭
SORRY LAST THING i think the sims romantic and sexual stuff is so nice bc its what i want?? LMAO IDK like the whole hot tub thing you're talking about- puh lease ITS JUST NICE TO SEE OKAY
i'm reading the german section over again and i said aloud "my german friend is so cool" lol (i was saying that to my brothers & i know they don't care LMAO) (& i'm glad the uni zoom call went well!!) so on a form, in german, it could possibily say Einführungsveranstaltungsteilnehmer because you would be a participant to an introductory event? i swear german sounds so cool 😌 but i love reading your german lessons!! it's really interesting, most of the time my brain can't comprehend it tho?? like that word makes sense to you, but i need a translation. like to be able to look at that and know what it says.... its just appealing and seems so cool lol i kinda wanna write something out in german but i feel that google translate will fail me. während googeln "google übersetzen" mein Computer war so verdammt langsam und es fühlte sich einfach wie etwas Gutes auf Deutsch zu sagen. ich bin nicht sicher, welches Wort ist "fucking", aber ich mag es lmao (did it fail me like i thought it would??)
LMAOOO THANK YOU FOR BRINGING UP JUSTIN BC WHILE AT THE RESTURANT THEY PLAYED A JUSTIN SONG AND I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT OF YOU AND THIS STORY😭 lol i was thinking it's depending on your age but not even that either... i really don't know.... but tom's fans are hollanders💀 i would consider myself one? he's the only person i'm really into like that (like a lot lol) so idk lmao (directioners 💔💔the pain is real)
LMAOOO (both of these paragraphs started off with “lmaooo” smh) "i like my men when they look like they are on the brink of death" PLEASE, i don't like pete's blonde hair... i just don't. i'm not sure if i wasn't watching the most recent snls but yea. my mom thinks he looks like trash, but i think he's okay? like he said staten island people just look like trash LMAO and I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN KING OF STATEN ISLAND GIRL I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THAT!! now i'm gonna make plans to watch it lmao, & yes agreed i find pete hot, don't ask why i really couldn't explain it to someone he's just .
my favorite songs from rex are from pony oh my goodness 🥺 anywho i'm gonna go eat cereal (i ended up eating bun and cheese instead) and listen to the Stormzy songs you recommended... aria. aria aria aria. i would like to thank you for introducing me to stormzy i- i don't have any words or any emojis to express HOW GOOD STORMZY IS. i hope he's popular in germany/the uk because i haven't heard of him but GURLLLL
one second - delicious i love it. it's really good. it’s not my favorite from the album, but its great.
superheroes - at first i played the non-explicit one (on accident) and wondered why the words weren't playing but i was reading them in the lyrics??? THIS ONE THOUGH??? IS THE BEST SONG I THINK I'VE EVER HEARD. i am so SO SO into black people empowering songs (like brown skin girl by beyonce) and this song???? PHEW I CRYYYYY ITS SO GOOD.... i was gonna quote some lyrics BUT THERS TOO MANY I LOVE, "i am young, black, beautiful, and brave" "black queen, you're immaculate, it's coming at the world, they ain't ready for your magic yet, and that was never your fault" THAT WAS NEVER YOUR FAULT- I ALMOST CRIED THIS SONG IS SO BEAUTIFUL (i played it twice lol)
lessons is another beautiful one, like its slow and it feels intimate and nurturing and just OO chefs kiss, beautiful . like you can feel the apology and the regret... it’s so good
own it - OWN IT OWN IT OWN IT IS AMAZING!! swear you would catch me dancing to this song, this song is so fucking good i cannot comprehend like this one might be my favorite for real... "it's the way you wind up your waist, i'm so in awe, you never have to worry abt nothing, you know its yours, you know you own it" 🥲 i played it two or three times honestly
rachael's little brother - YES I DID LISTEN TO IT LMAO AND YES I LIKE IT, its a very complex song and it's very layered in terms of emotions i think and i really like that about it. i probably won't listen to it that often, but its really good. i would recommend this song to my "older brother" bc he would just absolutely love this
shut up - i was taking this song seriously (also very good) until i heard him say shu-T up LMAO, this one is good, i probably wouldn't listen to it 24/7 like rachael's little brother but honestly its still fire
before listening to blinded by your grace and vossi bop, i know you brought up the religion bit, i definitely don't mind that, especially because i'm Christian lol and i actually liked that he brought up God in some of his songs like idk i just like it🥰🥰
(i then went to bed after that lol but first thing in the morning i listened to superheroes and... that song is probably my favorite tbh, i was gonna write MORE quotes that i loved from it but, yeah no there's too many. if you want i'll tell you lmao but this is already so long i would just be quoting the whole friggin song)
VOSSI BOP IS A BOP (lol) I CANT EVEN LIE, i love a song that hypes up a dude's girl so the line- i love that my phone decided to fail to load the lyrics, lemme google it, okay the lyric "looking at my girl like what a goddess" i was like AYEEE its honestly just really good. and no one in america says "sauce" like "i've got the sauce" but now i do (thanks to love island and Nas from last season) and now stormzy so (also im gonna watch the music video for superheroes bc it looks great so 😛)
(because this is already so long i feel like i shouldn't finish the rest but . no i'm gonna do it)
now for blinded by your grace pt2 idk why i’m nervous lmaoo PAUSE I'M NOT EVEN DONE WITH THE SONG GIRL THIS SONG IS *chefs kiss* no words, speechless PHEW y'all gon make me start jumping around. why did i not know about stormzy before, he is amazing i- ok yeah i finished the song, all i have to say is that Stormzy is immaclucate. period. i am literally sending his music to all my friends he is..... amazing
you want my song recommendations 🥺🥺 hmm uh okay lol i listen to a lot of old music, whitney houston, marvin gaye, queen, celine dion, i love "more than words" by extreme uhmm okay, but for actual music i listen to on the daily? (this is a lot of different music like.... they do not go together lmao so be prepared) a song about being sad by rex orange county, betty by taylor swift and lover by taylor swift and... most of that album lol, treasure by bruno mars lmao, OOOO and versace on the floor by bruno as well, lazybaby by dove cameron, creep by tlc has been on repeat lol, deja vu by olivia rodrigo (i saw what you said about drivers license and AGREED LMAO but i like deja vu a lot more haha) and two albums that i listen to in general, rare by selena gomez and ungodly hour by chloe x halle 🥰 you don't have to listen to all of them or any of them lol but that's a sense of what i'm into :) so basically everything haha, i'm into literally every single kind of music really so i wasn't too surprised that i enjoyed stormzy :’)
HAHASBSJHAHA your h20 story cracked me up,, like "wow these actors are so dedicated, learning german just for us" 😭 the beauty of overdubbing
once again, math and maths, in my mind maths makes sense because its mathmatics, but saying maths doesn't feel right to me lol, like if i said maths i feel like everyone would look at me like ??? and yea i was taught it as math so its just more natural for me. but yes math/maths is disgusting, easily one of my least favorite subjects so .
mkay. i- the first time i read this i could not contain my laughter when you said the only pollen you know is sex pollen LMAOKOOSHBABJFAJF STOPPP I'M EVEN LAUGHING WRITING THIS,, anyway. wow! that's interesting, my dad (<<< mostly anything else) gets migraines from the sun and the heat and stuff, yesterday (sunday, i was outside for like hours watching my brothers play football, the american kind lol) i was in the sun for like ever and i got a headache😔
summer clothes🥲 i need to go shopping fr fr. for my birthday my mom and dad got me a giftcard like dedicated to a shopping spree and we've yet to go so..... i should bring it up to my mom lol, but!! i went bra shopping (ended up returning literally all of them cuz they honestly didn't work for day to day work? its a long story) and if i could i would walk around in this new "summer bra" i got, i would. it's so fricking cute and its really light fabric (which isn't perfect for my nipples but still) so i don't get hot in it, but that bra and some shorts would be perfect. its the closest thing to being naked so
IS THE BIRD STILL BOTHERING U ARIA, TELL ME NOW ISTG, i laughed really hard that the bird isn't stupid and is really trying to torture you LMAOO like i was rolling, it wants you to suffer, badly
when you said "mensus" it was still close to mens!!! latin speaking queen 😌😌
okay STORYTIME i was reading back your response and started (fake) crying bc i love you lol and my youngest brother (daniel) gon say "oh man, catherine's crying about something we don't care about, again" I--- i swear when i tell you about them they sound awful, but they aren't that bad, just the stuff i say about them is sounds really mean LMAO
but the thing you said about being kind, same, what i always say is: don't be the person that makes people say "i hate people" ya know? like there's no reason to be a jerk or anything.... but its true 🥺🥺🥺🥺 you are really kind and every time i talk to you i would like to personally fly to germany and give you a hug 💖💕💞💗💓💝💖💘
& i'm gonna show my stretch marks some love bc of you 🥺😭 i really hate how men have basically everyone conditioned that you can't love your own body </3 fuck them, y'all beautiful :')
also thanks for what you said :')) you literally are the kindest, sweetest person i think i've ever spoken to and i love you 🥰🥺🥲💓💗
READING YOUR TAGS HAHAHHAHA the spelling errors makes everything so much funnier. once again, i like your german lessons & yea!! i'm gonna play sims after writing this hahah
#catherine's tags are back #i don't think i've told you my name before?? #anyway it's catherine🥰🥰🥰 #i'm typing this on my computer (without emojis) and if i didn't edit this you would be reading shit shite like #heartface and pout and cry LMAO #yeah abt the tattoos #some stuff with my parents i'm like deal with it??? lol #my mom tells me "if there's something you enjoy or you like but i don't have the same opinion on it... why would my (my mom's) opinion matter? #and i love that #like i'm not gonna go and do whatever i want #but if my mom doesn't like that i swear (which isn't true just an example) #its like okay.... #but whatever #and your tattoo ideas sound really cute!! #and yeah @ your parents, i mean you aren't getting something wild #and the tattoo album>>> #i'm gonna look up ariana's butterfly tattoos just so i know what you mean lol #but i'm guessing you don't want something so incredibily simple, but not super like over the top? #correct me if i'm wrong lol #LMAO the tags were in order don't worry ! #and yeah lol ily2 <33 #and once again, again, sorry for this post JSHJS ITS A MESS AND LONG AS HELL #and you don't need to go in order of my post its literally longer than your german compound words #u're fine #also !!! while writing this the birds were chirping outside and i was like 😳 #and one of your fics (i’ve read all of them, i don’t remember lol) that valentine’s day one where y/n had lingerie on (the pancake one lol) #inspired me to buy lingerie #like when i look back on me “growing up” #that fic & basically you lol really helped with that #that made no sense and i don’t know how to make it make sense... but... yeah. like ily
hiiiiiiiiiii <3333
Dear catherine, 😌
(you have said your name before, but it wasn‘t like an introduction or anything i think you were talking about .... was it possibly the incident at the cinema??? And you said something like ‘calm down catherine‘ like you were telling yourself to calm down idkd dkdkkdkd anyway i didn‘t mention it cause i wasn‘t sure if it was an accident or not dkdjd but now i know 😌❤️ Catherine is such a cute and lovely name btw omg and so are your brothers‘s names 🥰
Sorry that I‘m answering this so late, it‘s been an emotional rollercoaster for me since last week but i‘ll get to that in a second lol
Sksklssk girl i haven‘t played sims in like 2 weeks now ekejdkdlldld ok that‘s not that long at all actually but i keep wanting to play but then i end up not playing for whatever reason, so no news about my sims game 😔 but i love the names Liam and Peter and for twins!!! That sounds really nice actually
okay i‘m trying to answer your ask in chronological answer even though i wanted to wait for the depressing stuff and write it at the end or something OKAY so. i thought that i‘d feel so good when i start uni and that i‘ll like... have a purpose in life again and just be happy (cause in the last year i didn‘t do much and i was depressed like half of the time lol).... anyway i kind of feel even worse now? 😭 i think it‘s because in my brain it‘s like: university!!! that means your life will change and it‘ll all be so exciting. and don‘t get me wrong it is exciting butttt..... idk the online thing is so weird cause you‘re not meeting any new people (i‘m introverted anyway but still lol) and it doesn‘t feel like you‘re listening to/talking to actual people cause it feels the same as just watching a video?
also i thought i‘d be busy again but i only have one lecture (90mins) a day and theres one day where i dont have any lectures at all and just one day where i have 3 hours but.... idk i mean i shouldn‘t complain about having so much free time but i just don‘t know what to do all day and in a pandemic there really is nothing to do but i also can‘t relax bc it‘s like during the week and i know i have uni the next day and .... yeah.
There‘s also this one assignment i had to do that took me AT LEAST SIX HOURS AND IM NOT EVEN EXAGGERATING????? so that was the only thing i‘ve been doing besides “going to“ lectures. for this one course we have to read two (really really long) texts (like it literally took me 3 hours to read them) and we‘re supposed to post it on this website that all the professors in our uni use. So after 5 days of anxiety (✌🏼) i posted mine this morning bc last night i realised that i didn‘t even know why i was having anxiety so i just posted mine today. The deadline is tomorrow at 12 and no one except me has posted theirs yet........ so i have anxiety again 🥰 cause idk if i‘m the only one who did it or if i even did it correctly
Edit while i‘m rereading this: my anxiety about uni is a lot better and i‘m not as d*pressed anymore maybe it was just hormones? idk but i‘m better so that‘s good
(I started writing this like 5 hours ago and then i randomly completely forgot lol)
I‘m in a better mood now though so let‘s move on from that (oh wait also, i think i‘m gonna see if i can find a psychiatrist bc with my anxiety symptoms (long story) i need to go to a psychiatrist, and so far i‘ve only gone to like psycholgists and it didn‘t help but i think that‘s just bc i was meant to go to a psychiatrist and not a psychologist so dldjdjsj
n e ways but yes you‘re not alone, ily, things will get better and yes i love you (i‘m not good at this type of thing🥲 but i‘d hug you right now if i could <3)
Yess i think the time difference between est and me is 6hours but gmt is uk time i believe? i think mine is called.... cet? For central european time? I could be completely wrong though lmao
Oof i completely forgot about hollywood, i remember when laura kept posting about it on instagram but i never actually watched it and i definitely won‘t now lmaodkdksjsn
Okay my driving lesson LEBDJDKDK I DID NOT HOOK UP WITH ANYONE AKSJSKSMMLM especially not my 40 or 50 year old driving instructor lol i like her but NOT LIKE THAT, the lesson was really really really good actually and i think i‘ll have my driving test soon, but i don‘t even remember why the anon would have thought that??? Oh wait now i remember okay KEKSKDLDL so during the lesson my instructor was like do you mind if i turn on some music? AND THIS WOMAN TURNED ON ONE DIRECTION I LOVE HER so i made a post about it and i said something about the song up all night and i guess i phrased it in a .... idk in a dumb way 💀 so the anon made a joke that i stayed up with my driving instructor all night and NO. No.
Wait did i read that right? YOU WERE ARIEL ON STAGE? SIALDBDJDKSLMSBDKDMDMDKDJSLSMDJFJJEDMBFEKLEFBJDLDVSIDLESKSKWKDKDJDOWNYUEKWNDUWLNSUFLWVSUDLEHDOENSIDBEISBEHENJELBSIEMWUDNRIW KB WOBE JO ON SBEUU HIII S HWS LV W ICH US KB okay this keyboard smash is getting out of hand but uh please do elaborate on that 💘😌???? Like you can‘t just drop that information and not say more??? I forgot if you‘re in like your school‘s drama group (is that a thing? lol idk anything about acting) or in an independent group? Either way - ARIEL that is so fucking cool
Your brothers loooooool, no i get it though obviously you love them and stuff but esp at their age children are so annoying so good luck with them 😭😭😭lmao
Yeah “anyway i imagine being an only child is really calming.. like you have time to yourself and its just you and your parents 😌“ yeah just me and my parents who constantly fight 🥰 lmao no i like being an only child, like i cannot imagine having siblings but i feel like if i had siblings i would be saying that i can‘t imagine being an only child so? but i do think it‘s quite different like i‘m trying to imagine having siblings and WHAT that‘s just so different omg i‘ve never really thought about it like properly ???
I saw a tik tok the other day that was like “sometimes i forget that my siblings have a life of their own. like i see them as side characters in my life“ and even though i can‘t relate obviously i felt that. lol, like i can really imagine how it feels idk what i‘m talking about like shut the fuck up, daria
(also my actual name is daria not aria but i dont like it, and also i wanted to be more anonymous on tumblr so now i‘m aria lmao. pls don‘t mention it though cause no one knows except for you and mel (peterbenjiparker) dkdkdkdnkdnd. but i‘m starting to identify with the name cause everyone keeps calling me that looool😭😭😭 (but i like the name, more than daria anyway? well it also depends on the accent, cause the way germans say daria is okay. the was Americans say it is also okay, but some of my family in England are from the north of england and i don‘t like how they say my name 💀 no offence to them(?) but yeah pls don‘t mention the name in your ask cause the chance of people seeing it is higher then (or if you want to say something about it just send a separate ask and i just won‘t post it (IDK what you‘d want to say about my name but yeah just in case slsldlldmsndnsns)
I‘m loving falcon and winter soldier so much but when i was watching an episode the week before last week (?) my laptop broke😭😭😭😭 during the scene where the dora milaje came at the end my laptop just shut down? And it had these lines all over the screen and i had to bring it to the shop where i bought it and they said it‘ll take 6-8 weeks to repair 💔💔💔 but at least it‘ll be for free, cause if i brought it back to apple it would cost like 400€ (i think that‘s nearly 500$) so yeah. but it sucks cause now i‘m “going to uni“ on a really old rusty laptop and on my phone which kinda sucks. oh yeah and also i can‘t watch anything on there 😭 i definitely want to watch wandavision but it‘ll have to wait🤧
Yessss you should def get your GED! I googled and I‘m still not entirely sure what it is dldks but from how you described it- YES!!!!!!
Idk if you know this? Like no idea if I‘ve told you this already (hmmm wait i feel like we talked about it actually?) anyway i was originally gonna go study in England, but for loads of reasons I ended up staying in Germany and I‘m def happy with my decision, but I definitely want to go to England sometime even if it‘s just for six months or maybe for my masters or something? And (obviously everyone is different) but i think everyone should go abroad and live in a different country once in their life, no matter if it‘s for school or what, and even if it‘s just for a few weeks. But i think that‘s something that you‘d never ever forget! And combining that with your acting/theatre??? You really would be living the dream 💘💘😌
how about burgers, chips (fries), and a large drink? any time next week works for me, should i pick you up?— sounds good see you soon 🥰🥰🥰
i used to be one of the people who‘d just do motherlode motherlode motherlode and just... what did i do? Why did i do that??? But not anymore lol. Like I said i haven‘t played sims in a few weeks but i‘ve been watching a few legacy challenge let‘s plays and usually i play with the aging off. So my sims just don‘t age 💀 but i could (should) turn aging on so that it stays exciting and i have limited time and everything. and once i get bored with my current sims i can just make them have kids and continue playing as their children when they get older- like recently i remembered that i haven‘t played the acting career in ages? and i haven‘t had a shop in ages? and i think you can even become a vet right??? like those are definitely some things i want to do in the next weeks!!! Also yes sksksjs i have a few hundred hours on sims as well (if not thousands 😭) it was just that one household that i‘d been playing with for 24hrs
AND GIRL SSKSKJD THE UNIVERSITY THING HAPPENED TO ME TOO, it was a while ago so i don‘t remember what degree and what job it was about but i made my sim study something for aaaaaages so she‘d get a better job from the beginning (you know what i mean like get in at a higher level)...... and i apparently studied the wrong thing cause i didn‘t get any benefits from studying and still had to start at level 1 and shit 🥴🥲
Oh also (this was like 2 weeks ago) Enisa and Michael did take in Michael‘s daughter and i think Enisa currently even has a higher/better relationship with the daughter than Michael but um💀💀💀 also i was hoping (since michael and enisa married (in their back yard i think lol) that the daughter (i forget what her name is😭) would have enisa as her step mom? Like you know how you can see the relationship and it says daughter or son or sister.. and i was hoping that it would say step mom but it doesn‘t say anything 🥲 but in my mind (and if the sims had proper family relations) she is her step mom😌 also Leo is a teenager now???? I mean I aged him up lol dkdk he was being too annoying as a toddler but i don‘t like children so i aged him up twice in one day and now he‘s a teen, but that means he can look after his half sister when she becomes a toddler which is good (the game recognises them as siblings tho even if they‘re just half siblings? why can‘t they have step family members in the sims🥲) okay i‘ve annoyed you enough with sims ✋🏼
I‘ve been a bit sick these past few days and now i‘m getting a headache so i have to finish this response tomorrow 😭😭😭 </3
.
It‘s not tomorrow, it‘s 3 hours later but i‘m better lol
oooff when sims are ungrateful and won‘t woo woo (lol i like that) cause they‘re too tired like?? Be grateful that you‘re not living with your parents anymore 🙄 no okay dkdkdkdl idk if you play with mods (i don‘t) but i know there is a mod (or it‘s part of a mod idk maybe wicked whims?) where you can adjust the percentage of how risky a normal woo woo is, like you still click woo woo (3dksksks okay i‘ll say woohoo again— wait is that what’s it called? 😭) but there‘s like a 25% chance that your sim can still get pregnant just like in real life there‘s always a chance of getting pregnant even if you‘re using protection (just not 25% lmao) but yeah i personally don‘t play with mods sksk and you can always just click try for baby but it would be cool if you could add stuff like risky woohoo to the game without mods (i have no idea how to download mods and i play sims on a really really old laptop and sims is literally tje only thing that works on it anyway so—) i repeat my words from earlier: okay i‘ve annoyed you enough with sims ✋🏼
okay i‘m so sorry i‘m gonna watch fast & furious 1 now cause i need to watch f&f 1-5 until the 30th of april cause they‘re only on netflix til then (i mean i could watch them somewhere else but the quality is never as good) so i will finish this tomorrow after all😭
it is now 1 am, i finished the film, can feel a new obsession coming up again (i always have these f&f obsessions for six months before and after a new film comes out)
THE GOOGLE TRANSLATE wkekdjdj tbh it sounds like someone is speaking with some kind of foreign accent i guess that‘s probably because it just is a direct translation and so anyway slsjsj i don‘t know if you asked me what the word fucking is in german? like idk cause the translation is a bit weird but in case you asked lol sidjsjs theres not really a good translation like we just say fuck for fuck lmao, i don‘t know if you typed in fucking in google translate and it came out as verdammt? cause that means damn (or damned sksjjs) ummm yeah idek if/what you asked so imma move on🤧
I‘m not gonna comment on what you said about every stormzy song cause you already said all the important things but SKSKSJSJSKNSNDBDUDOENWBSLSKKHSULSLSKSBSJSKSK I WAS SMILING SO HARD WHEN I READ YOUR RESPONSE FOR THE FIRST TIME BECAUSE AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH finally i know someone who loves him as much as i do 💘💘💘 also since you brought it up, i‘m pretty sure he‘s considered the most successful UK rapper or if not then at least top 3 so he‘s defffffffffinitely big in the uk, in germany more and more people are listening to uk rap too but not as much stormzy cause theyre dumb apparently 🙄 but anywY i‘m sooooo sooo happy that you like him. i think hith came out end of 2019 (i could be wrong but i think it came out on the 13th of december so (in a european way) you‘d write the date: 13.12 and obviously i don‘t KNOW this but i can definitely imagine that he chose that date because ACAB and yes, Michael. Yes. But he hasn‘t made too much music since then so i hope he‘s working on some new stuff 🤞🏼
Also i ordered the stormzy poster😌 also a nicki minaj one bc i decided i‘m gonna have one wall with red-ish posters (i already have two kinda red ones) and one with blue/green-ish posters (already have two) and i can add stormzy to the blue one and nicki to the red one, but i think that‘s it cause if my walls are tooo full it could look cluttered? I‘m not sure how that type of thing works lmao but my room is generally untidy so i don‘t want the walls to look unorganised too so i think that‘s it for now
I really want to finish this now but my brain is getting kinda slow and i need to sleep soon so this will have to wait till later after all 🥺🥴 (not that it makes and difference to you bc you‘ll see this whenever i post it buttttt i wanted you to know that i want to talk to you again but with my slow brain i‘m just taking too long to do it in one day😭😭😭 and i‘m so busy tomorrow hmm but i‘m sure i‘ll have 30 minutes to finish this then <3)
Okay wait I‘m so dumb I didn‘t realise I‘d nearly answered everything i could have posted this yesterday 😭😭
Oooohh that summer bra sounds so nice like if i was confident enough i literally would just wear a top that resembles a bra (or really is a bra lol) cause my tiddies always be looking amazing i‘m just insecure about my stomach sometimes 🙄🙄🙄 but recently i‘ve been loving myself more and more tbh 😌
also i hope you can go shopping for some nice clothes soon ✨😌
I‘ll be honest I haven‘t listened to your song recs YET but only because i wanna take my time with them and i‘ve been so busy and slso AJ tracey‘s album came out last week and I haven‘t listened to that one yet either so ekdkdj (he‘s also a uk rapper like quite popular and successful as well, but i feel like i‘m not gonna like his album cause whenever i‘m looking forward to an album it ends up being really bad and the albums where you weren‘t expecting it turn out to be bangers.... so yeah but i‘ll let you know when i listen to your songs!!!! :)
Omg i keep having to scroll up all the way to see the next thing you said so sorry if I completely miss some of the things you said😭😭
So when you sent this the bird was still bothering me oh my FUCK DKDLDMMDMDMD but now i‘ve been going to bed at like 1-2am so the bird is probably still asleep lool
Okay and for the rest of your ask my response is: 💘💖❣️💚❣️💛❣️💛💕💞❤️💓💟💞💕💕💖💘💝💟💟🧡❤️🧡💞💛💚💓💚💚💚❣️🧡💖💘🧡💝🧡💕💘🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥺🥺🥺🥰🥺🥺💘💘💘💘💘 (okay that looked cuter in my head i don‘t really like the green hearts dldkkdksndnd)

Chapter zero: his best creation.
It is said that the eyes are a window to the soul, but when they look at you, your eyes are glassy, it is impossible to read the slightest emotion, your soul is empty, your soul has been replaced by a void, by the nothingness. Yet, you smile. A smile that is hard to describe, it is not forced, but it is not genuine either. It's just there.
You look at yourself in the bedroom mirror, and you hardly recognize yourself. Your fingers rest on the choker that adorns your neck, and for a brief second, your smile wears off, and your eyes seem to clear, but it disappears just as quickly. The choker is in red satin, a heart-shaped pendant in the middle. A letter is engrave on it. K.
The alarm on your phone makes you jump, and you turn to the object on the nightstand. It's time for you to go downstairs for breakfast. Kun must already be waiting for you. You turn off the alarm, and leave the room. If the bedroom is warm, the hallways are cold, or maybe it is just the cold from the tiling under your feet creeping into your body.
The marble stairs shine under your passage, and you do not dare to put your hand on the railing, of fear of leaving a trace. The house is immaculate, pristine. Anyone entering the house unexpectedly would think that no on lives here, that this is just a show house. This is what you also believed the first time you came here. Everything is in its place. Everything is perfect, just like Kun.
You walk into the dining room, and you see Kun. He is seated at the table, his laptop where a plate should be, but you know that in the morning, he likes to work while you eat, so he can spend a little more time with you before going to work. And you appreciate that. At least, you think you do.
The chair creaks as you pull it away from the table, and Kun looks up from his screen. He takes off his glasses which he puts on the table, and he smiles with a sweetness that warms your heart. "Good morning, my love, how are you?" you hold out your hand for him, and he takes it to place a tender kiss on the back. "I'm fine. I missed you in bed this morning."
Kun nods, and he gets up from his chair to fill your plate with fresh fruits, and pancakes drenched in maple syrup, just the way he knows you like them. "I'm sorry, doll, I had some late work to finish." if you live for Kun, Kun lives for his work. It is sad, but that's how life is sometimes, but that does not mean he does not love you.
"Eat everything." he says, and you nod, picking up your fork. He takes your glass and pours some squeezed orange juice into it. He turns to a locked glass cabinet, and takes out a small bottle filled with a translucent liquid. He drops a few drops in the glass, and you watch him to it, your head cocked to the side. "What is that?" you ask, and he sighs.
"I told you before, it helps keep you a sweet little doll." you nod again, you seem to have heard that phrase once or twice before, even though Kun has had to remind you every morning for months now. But he doesn't mind, he likes to remind you that it is thanks to him that you are such a sweet doll. He kisses the top of your head, and you close your eyes at the contact.
"Am I your favorite doll?" you ask before stuffing a strawberry into your mouth. Kun sits down again, and he watches you for a second. "Of course. Of all the dolls I made, you are the one I love the most, you are my best creation."

Chapter one: finding the doll.
"Can I buy you a drink?"
You are surprised to hear a voice above the hubbub of music and conversations in the bar where you are. At first, you expect to find Taeyong grinning like an idiot, cheeks flushed from the alcohol he's been drinking ever since you arrived, but when you turn on your stool, you frown when you see a man you've never seen before. You tilt your head to the side.
"And why would I say yes?" you ask, and the man smile. He has two dimples that make him look a little more childhish, a thin layer of sweat sticks his hair to his forehead, but he is still handsome in the dimmed lights of the bar. The first two buttons of his shirt are open, and you can't help but glance at the sliver of skin. "The question is, why would you say no?"
You do not have an answer to that, so you nod and the man sits on the stool next to you. He calls out the bartender, and asks to put two glasses of whatever you were drinking. "My name is Kun." he says, turning to you, and he holds out his hand. Hand that you squeeze for a brief moment. "Y/n." he smiles once more. "Pleased to meet you."
"So what is a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this?" he asks, and you shrug, sliding your index finger across the rim of your glass. "This is my brother's bar." you explain, and you see the colors disappear from Kun's face, and when he is about to open his mouth, probably to apologize, you smile. "I'm just kidding. My best friend got dumped, so I'm here to support him as he drowns his grief in overpriced cocktails."
Kun's shoulders relax, grinning. "What about you?" he brings the glass to his lips to take a sip, and he winces at the sligh burn of the liquid in his throat. "Terrible day at work, I needed to relax." he explains in a low voice. "It's true that being in a crowded bar that smells like sweat and cheap alcohol is the best way to unwind from a day at work." you say, looking at him above your glass.
Kun chuckles softly as he puts his glass back on the bar, he rests his fingers beside it, and immediately regrets his decision when he feels how sticky the bar is. "It's always better than being alone at home." he says, and you agree, altough you are more the type to relax in bed with music rather than in a crowded and noisy bar. You would never have entered this place in your life if Taeyong had not begged you to come with him for over an hour earlier.
"Tell me about you, Kun." you ask, finishing your drink in one go, and you turn on your stool to face him. "I work in my best friend's law firm, I have a dog, and I love reading." he speaks in a bored manner, and you bite the bottom of your lip so as not to laugh. "I'm not the most interesting person here." you shrug, putting your hands flat on your thighs. "That's true, but there must be more than that, come on Kun, don't be shy."
Kun seems to think about it for a minute or so, yes he has more than that, but he can't really afford to tell you, not during your first meeting. His idea is to have a good time, and why not bring a girl back to his house, not to scare anyone and end up in prison that same evening. "I have an obsession with dolls."
This time around, you can't contain your laughter, and Kun is not offended, this is what he was expecting. "Dolls? Like barbies, or porcelain dolls?" you ask after catching your breath, you appreciate his presence, you do not want to see him go so soon, so you have to look and sound interested. "Porcelain dolls, but they are different, they all have stories."
"Stories? What do you mean?" you tilt your head, and Kun turns on his stool too. His knees bang against yours, and you glide your gaze down your legs for a brief moment. "These are not just porcelain dolls you would find in a store, they all come to my house with a clear story, and it is up to me to make sure they end their lives peacefully, and happily." that's fucking weird. "I don't know if you are being serious, or if you are making fun of me Kun, and you know what? I'm not sure I actually want to know."
You do not know how, but you went from an odd discussion about Kun's obsession with dolls, to this situation. Pressed against the door of Kun's room, you pant while feeling Kun's lips on your neck, his teeth digging into your skin, his tongue soothing the burn right away. Kun's hands are everywhere, under your top, along your still clothed thighs, you do not know where to focus.
"You are so hot, doll." Kun whispers hotly against your ear, and you bite your lower lip. "Is that why you brought me here?" Because I remind you of a doll?" Kun's gaze meets yours and he smirks. "Perhaps." you roll your eyes, and before you have a chance to open your mouth, Kun drops to his knees, ignoring the burn of the carpet, and when you give him permission to continue, he busy himself by removing your pants and panties. He slips one of your legs over his shoulder, and he covers your thighs with hot burning kisses and bites.
Kun does everything he can to avoid the area you want him the most, and you begin to whimper impatiently. He laughs as he licks his last bite to soothe the pain, and he looks up at you. You look like a work of art, with your head thrown back against the door, your eyes half-open and parted lips. "What do you want, doll?" he asks, and you sigh. "I don't know. Everything. Give me everything Kun, don't be an asshole."
"Everything?" Kun asks, and you nod with vigor. "Alright, your wish is my command, doll." he kisses your ankle, and he brings his lips up close to your core, and he blows gently. The cold air makes you shiver slightly, and you close your eyes, resting one hand in Kun's hair, and the other on the door for stability, because as he slides a finger in between your folds, your knees buckle.
"You are so wet doll, and all because of a few kisses? Cute." you pull his hair lightly, and he growls. "Stop talking please." you mumble, and Kun shrugs his shoulders but with your eyes closed, you can't see him. Neither do you see him approach his face and replace his finger with his tongue. "Oh." that's all you can say before he lays his tongue flat against your clit.
You are convinced that Kun will spend the next few minutes teasing you, but he does not. He licks your clit with vigor, and you can't help but roll your hips for more contact, and his free hands keep your from moving too much, which make you whimper loudly. His mouth is hot, insanely so. He pushes a single digit into you, making you mewls, not expecting him to do so. "Such a good girl." he says, moving his face away to watch you lose yourself to pleasure.
"More, more, please." you whisper, and Kun obliges. A second, then a third finger join the first, and you bite your lower lip to cover your moans that are getting loud, and embarrassing, but Kun doesn't seem to agree with you. "That's what we are not going to do. I want to hear you." he says in a firm voice, slapping your thigh. You almost lose your balance, but he stops you from falling by resting his hand on your waist. His grip is strong, and you know you'll have bruises of the shape of his fingers for days.
You already feel so close to your orgasm, you can feel it, you can taste it on your tongue. Kun keeps stimulating your clit with his thumb while pumping his fingers in and out of you, your muscle tightens around his fingers and he loves the feeling of your hot, wet walls, so much that he feels himself throb in the confined of his jeans, he can't wait to put his cock to good use inside of you.
When you feel heat spreading through your body, Kun's fingers pull back and you whine. You feel empty, and you do not like that feeling, not with how good Kun's fingers made you feel. "No, no, why, I was so close." you sob, and Kun smiles when he sees a single tear run down your cheek, it is so beautiful to see how fucked out you look with only his fingers. "You will cum. Later. On my cock, doll." fuck. "If you are nice, I'll make you cum twice, how does that sound?" you nod, that's all you can do right now.
Kun puts your leg back on the floor, and when you lower your head to look at him, he slides his fingers into his mouth to lick them clean of your juice, and you roll your eyes. "Kun." you are out of breath, and he straightens up before kissing you. He doesn't wait to get your permission before sticking his tongue into your mouth, and even though the kiss is sloppy, teeth clashing and salive gathering at the corner of your mouths, he puts his hands on your waist, to keep you upright because this simple kiss makes your legs feel like jelly, and he can feel it.
"Lie down on the bed." he orders, and you obey. You do not know how, but you get to the bed without tripping. Before lying down, you get rid of your last pieces of clothing before throwing them somewhere in the bedroom. You lie down, your head resting on Kun's pillows which smell of his perfume, and a mixture of sweat and soap, which is weirdly addicting, you think.
When you turn your head to look at him, you are disappointed to see that he is already undressed, but that's okay, you'll find another opportunity to touch his soft skin. He rummages in a drawer, and you see him walk up to the bed with a condom in hand, and without waiting, he climbs onto the bed to hover over you.
He places a quick kiss on your lips, and he begins to open the condom's packet, but you shake your head, resting your hands on his. "Let me do it." Kun nods, but he gasps when you push him to the other side of the bed to straddle his thighs. His cock is hard, the tip is red and leaking precum. You lean in, and run your tongue through the slit before swallowing the sticky liquid, all under Kun's hungry gaze.
"You drive me crazy." he groans, and you smile, perfect, you like that. You throw the condow packet on the floor, and before rolling it over his member, you lick the vein on the side from bottom to top, a groan snarling out of Kun's mouth. "Can I ride you?" you ask, while rolling the condom over his thick member. "Whatever makes you happy, doll."
You take his cock in your hand, and you nudge the tip over your entrance, you take a deep breath, and you ease the member gently. Kun's hands rest on your waist, and he gently helps you, and when finally you bottom out, he stays still. Yes, he wants to fuck you into oblivion, but he is also human, and he doesn't want to hurt you. At least not that way.
When you feel ready, you put your hands flat on Kun's chest and you roll your hips. "So tight, doll. You were made for me." Kun looks handsome from above, you think, looking at the way he bites his lower lip with every movements of your pelvis, the way his fingers tighten around your waist. But after a while, Kun starts to get impatient, and he plants his feet on the mattress to thrust harder into you.
"Oh fuck." you moan following the movement of his thrusts, but soon, you feel the burn in your thighs. You, who wanted to have a minimum of control, are already losing it as your legs fall asleep on either side of Kun's thighs. "Kun, Kun." you sob, your vision misted with tears once more. "Yes, doll, I'll take care of it." he pushes you onto the bed, and you wrap your legs around his waist when he enters you again.
He nestles his face in the crook of you neck, and he bites, hard. You close your eyes, a lewd sound coming out of your mouth and you throw your head back. Kun's thrusts are quick, strong, and deep, so much so that if you legs weren't secured around his waist, you would be pushed against the headboard. He is not holding back, and fuck you are grateful for it.
Kun sits up, and his hands grip the headboard to speed up his thrusting if that's even possible. His cock rocks against your sweet spot, and your orgasm crash over you without you even realizing it. You vision turns black, and you see stars for a moment as Kun growls when your walls tighten deliciously around his lenght. "Oh fuck, yes." he kisses you but fucked stupid like you are, you are unable to kiss back, all you can do is pant, and whimper at how sensitive you feel.
"One more?" he asks in a soft voice, which contrasts with the way he pounds into you. You are not sure you can do it, but you nod anyway, your body might hate you tomorrow, but it will be worth it. Despite everything, Kun opens his mouth. "What's your color?" he asks, and even though it takes a minute for you to figure out what he is asking, you speak out, in a broken voice. "Green, green, Kun." Great.
Kun doesn't know if he wants to cum, or if he wants to spend the rest of the night fucking you. It is so good, and at the same time, he wants to taste the sweet release he can feel creeping up slowly. He keeps thrusting, his knuckles turning white from the force with which he squeezes the headboard, and even his growls get louder. As for you, a flood of moans mixed with his name flows from your lips which he kisses, and bites hard enough that the skin breaks and a drop of blood flows before he licks it clean.
"Close, close." that's all you moan, and it's enough for Kun to understand. He nods, and one of his hands slides between your bodies to your clit, which he strokes with his thumb. You grab Kun's shoulders and dig your fingernails into the skin, and that's what seems to do, Kun cums in the condom. You feel it. You feel the hot cum against your walls even with the latex in between, and your legs start to shake with the intensity of your second orgasm.
Kun continues to thrust, slowly this time, riding his orgasm, but you are so sensitive that you shake your head. It is too much. "Stop, stop, please, I can't take it anymore." Kun obeys, and he stops his movements and he cages your face with his hands, being careful not to put his full weight on you. "It was perfect. You were perfect, doll." he whispers near your lips before kissing you for quite a while, and much more tenderly than before. And when he pulls out for air, he gets up from the bed to remove the condom and put it in the trash. You feel really empty, but ready to fall asleep.
When Kun returns to the bedroom with a damp cloth, he finds you asleep. You seem peaceful, so much that he doesn't want to wake you up and force you to go home, not that he wants you gone, so he doesn't. He puts on some sweatpants, and he lies down next to your after cleaning you briefly, and covering your naked body with a blanket, and he watches your for a moment before he too falls asleep, a smile on his face.

Chapter two: the morning after.
It is around 11am when you open your eyes. At first, you are lost. You do not recognize the sheets your are in, and you do not recognize the scent around you. The presence next to you is foreign, and it takes you two or three minutes to remembers. The bar with Taeyong. Your meeting with Kun. Kun! You spent the night with Kun, now you remember, and when you turn your head, you see a tuft of blonde hair coming out of the comforter.
Oh fuck, Taeyong!
You left the bar last night without telling him you were ditching him to go home with a complete stranger. You get out of bed slowly, ignoring the pain in your legs, and you find your pants neatly folded on what you supposed is Kun's desk, and you are definitely not the one who did that. Your top and lingerie are laid aside, and you wonder if all the one night stands are as kind and considerate as the sleeping man. But you doubt it. In your pants pocket you take out your phone, and you are surprised to see only two messages from Taeyong.
From Yong: I'm leaving with someone, don't wait for me. From Yong: Can you come get me? Pretty please?
The last message was sent less than twenty minutes ago, which means he must still be waiting for you, and probably with one hell of a hangover. You are glad you didn't drink more than two drinks last night. You put your clothes on, and before leaving the room, you find a piece of paper to write down your number, and a little note. "Call me." and you leave the room.
The problem is, you do not know where you are. You do not know which part of town he took you to, you were to busy cleaning Kun's tonsils with your tongue in the taxi to watch where they were driving you. All you know is that you are in a house, with marble stairs, and modern decor without a hint of dust around you. You go down the stairs, not daring to put your hand on the railing, and you wonder if Kun decided to illegaly enter a show house the night before.
Everything is clean, tidy. Everything is in the image of Kun, perfect. The front door is unlocked, which greatly simplifies the task of leaving like a thief. You dial Taeyong's number, and the boy answers immediately. "Where are you? I'm tired, I want to go to sleep." he says in a hoarse voice, and you look around. "I wish I knew, Yong." you walk down the street, at least until you find a street name. You are in a nice neightborhood, the kind you never go to, way too far from your comfort zone.
"What do you mean you don't know where you are?" Taeyong asks, and you roll your eyes. "I left the bar with a guy last night, and I don't know where I am!" you hear Taeyong giggle before growling, probably from his pounding headache. "Slut." you sigh, as you look around. You probably look suspicious. "You can talk, you did the same." you mumble, and you hear him say something to an unknown voice, so you take the opportunity to hang up to call a taxi, it's the only way for you to get home. Or at least to get to Taeyong, then you can figure it out together.
Tumblr media
Chapter two and a half: Kun.
The following week, busy with work and with well, life, you stopped thinking about him, about Kun. You stopped thinking about the night you spent together, you stopped thinking about his hands, his lips, his scent, you just stopped. Work is mostly the cause, and also Taeyong who spends most of his time whinning about his ex partner, he is not recovering from his breakup, and it's tiring, really.
And when your phone rings, an unknown number appearing on your screen, you answer without a second thought. The perfect way to get you killed, Taeyong said once, but maybe one of your friends changed number and need something, you can't take the risk. But when you hear the voice, you do not recognize it. "Hello?" the silence is rather short. "Y/n, hello! How are you? Sorry I took so long to call, I was busy and didn't know if you actually wanted that." you frown, sitting on the sofa, the rerun of a show playing on the television. "I'm sorry, but who is it?"
"It's Kun?" the man says in an uncertain voice, and you remember. "Ah, Kun. Hi, I'm okay, and you, are you doing alright? Sorry for leaving last time, but my friend needed me." Kun makes a sound of aknowledgment before speaking. "Don't worry, I understand. I wanted to know if you wanted to meet?" you hesitate. You are not used of sleeping around with a man you met in a bar, so you are not sure if you really want to see him again. But also, why the hell not, you have the next week free of work, might as well make the most of it. "Yeah, why not."
"Do you remember the bar where we met? There's a café across the street, maybe we could meet up there later. Is around 3pm okay?" he asks, and you nod even though he can't see you. "Yeah that's fine with me. See you later." the man lets you know that he is excited to see you, and you hang up. You have a few more hours left, so you huddle once more in your blanket, and watch the television, wondering if going out is actually worth it.

Chapter three: How to make a doll: step one.
The meeting/date in the café is what changed your life.
You were not sure you wanted to see Kun, and yet, a month later, you are unable to part with him. There is something appealing about Kun, something highly addicting. He is kind, caring, smart and of course, he is breathtakingly beautiful with his dimples, soft eyes and honey-like voice.
The mere thought that one day he might not want you anymore is painful. You can't imagine your life without Kun, without his smile, without his kisses, without his hands that make you feel things that you've never felt before. And without his love, because Kun's love is amazing, it's like he has not limit to the love he gives, no matter what he receives in return.
When he tells you that he loves you, you feel like hearing it for the first time, every time. You have butterflies in your stomach when he looks at you, or when he talks about you like you are the eighth wonder of the world to his friends and colleagues. You are proud to be with Kun, because you know he could have had any girl, and yet, you are the one he decided to choose. The one he decided to love more than anything.
"Y/n? Come have a glass of water." you smile when you hear your name coming out of Kun's mouth, it's like hearing the most beautiful melody, the way it rolls on his tongue. And he is so attentive too, you think and you leave the living room to join him in the kitchen. He is sitting on a stool around the kitchen island, and he hands you a glass of water, which you take, smiling. "Thanks Kun." you say, and he smiles too, dimples in full display. "You are welcome, doll."
You take a sip of water, then a second, and you grimace. "What's wrong?" he asks, tilting his head. "I don't know, the water tastes weird." Kun shakes his head, and takes a sip of hiw own glass. "I don't feel it, it must be you. You stay too long without drinking, you forget the taste." when Kun says something, you take him at his word, so you shrug and finish your drink. "Sit down with me for a bit." he pats the stool next to him, and you settle down, your head immediately resting on the shoulder of your boyfriend who kisses your forehead.
You stay like that, in silence, for a few minutes before Kun opens his mouth. "How are you feeling?" he asks, and you frown. If he had not asked you the question, you certainly would not have realized the fatigue that suddenly fell on your body. Your eyelids are heavy, and you limbs feel numb, your mouth is dry, and movements around you seem to be slowing down. "I do not know." you whisper tiredly. "My poor little doll." Kun responds, without a hint of pity in his voice.

Chapter four: Bad doll?
This is not the only time the feeling of losing control of your body sets in. At first it's once a week, and now it's every morning, but you adjust pretty well to the side effects, and Kun is so nice to you when you feel bad, he takes care of you, he makes sure that you drink enough water, and that you eat enough food. He regularly returns from work at lunchtime to cook for you, and to remind you how wonderful you are, and how proud he is of you.
He gives you presents, but the one you prefer is the choker you never part with. You love the color, and the pendant reminds you that Kun is near you, even when he is not at home, and that's all you need. Time passes, and yet you do not realize it. You stopped responding to Taeyong, and even going to work. Kun said you did not have to go anymore, he may very well support the two of you with his job alone. No, you do not realize anything. You only see Kun, only hear Kun. Kun. Kun. Kun. Kun. His name echoes like a mantra in your head.
Today, going down the stairs, you are surprised to not hear the slightest noise. When Kun is at home, he enjoys playing music on his turntable. He says that even though the sound is not as crisps there, it is much better, he can appreciate the music more, but now you can't hear anything. Not even the sound of his computer keyboard where he spends most of his time when he is not at the office.
"Kun?" you ask, poking your head through the living room door, which is empty and as clean as usual, if not a little cleaner. You walk into the kitchen, and you pout when you notice that he is not there either, but a note is stuck on the fridge door.
"My doll, my beautiful doll. I'm sorry, but I had to leave for work. I know I promised to take you to the movies, but a case we are working on must be finished today, the trial having been brought forward. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to cook for you, and I'm so sorry. You can cook for yourself, but please be careful with the knives. Remember to drink at least 5 glasses of water today. I have my phone if you need anything. I love you. Kun."
You silently read Kun's words and nod. It's a shame, you were excited to go to the movies. You really haven't been out of the house since moving in with Kun. At least you think you moved here. Kun bought you enough clothes to fill a full closet, and your mind is far too cloudy to think about the clothes you already own, and the apartment you were renting back then.
You do not know if it's because Kun is not here, or because you are too lazy to cook, but you are not hungry. You come out of the kitchen, and once in the lobby of the house, you look around. You do not know what you are supposed to do. Even though Kun leaves you alone to go to work pretty much every day, he still advises you to do certain acitivites, or you usually feel far too tired to do anything.
But today, you feel good. Still a bit groggy, but much better than usual.
A name suddenly comes to your mind, for the first time in months, and you frown. Your heart does a weird thing when you think of this person. Not the same as when you think of Kun, but differently. A certain warmth spreads through your body, and you realize that you actually miss this person. Taeyong. You know you were used to spend a lot of time together, and that you even decided to save your money to find a big apartment to live in together.
He forgot about me, you think.
But you do not realize that you forgot about him, not the opposite. But you are too lost in your own head to realize it. You walk up the stairs, being careful not to put your fingers on the white wall or the railing, and push the door to the room you share with Kun. The decor has changed since the first time you came here. Several pictures of you, and you and Kun together are on the walls, and your favorite color can be found in small touches on the satin sheets, on the curtains, and a few trinkets here and there.
You find your phone in the bedside table drawer, and when you try to turn it on, nothing happens. After so long, the battery must be dead. Finding a charger is not difficult, you just have to walk around the bed to Kun's place. You take it, and you return to the living room. For some reason, you do not like being in the room on your own, you feel like you are being watched, it makes you uncomfortable.
Once in the living room, you plug in the phone, and while waiting for it to turn on, you turn on the television. A serie is playing, and even though you do not understand it, you watch, your head resting on a pillow, and soon, you find yourself wrapped in your favorite blanket, ready to fall asleep. So much for feeling full of energy.
When you open your eyes, you are hardly surprised to see the living room bathed in darkness. It often happens to you, to close your eyes before realizing that night has already fallen. It takes a moment before your eyes get used to the darkness that is only broken by a lit bedsite lamp next to Kun. Kun who is seated on an armchair, his arms crossed against his toned chest. You sit up, smiling. "You are back."
Normally, Kun would smile. He would get up to give you a long, tender hug and ask you how your day was. But today, he doesn't. He looks tired, stressed and disappointed. It is indeed an emotion you have never seen on his beautiful face, disappointment. "What's wrong?" you ask as you sit on the couch, legs crossed, your blanket falling from your shoulders, revealing the same pajamas you wore last night.
You look down, and notice that your phone is in Kun's hand, and tild your head. "Why?" he asks, pointing to the phone. "Why what?" He gets up, and he sits down next to you. You are not afraid, you know Kun will never hurt you, but you also do not know what to expect. You have never seen him angry except at one of his colleagues on the phone, and each time he makes sure to leave the room so that you do not see, or hear anything.
"Am I not enough?" he asks in a voice so weak that you wonder if you heard correctly. "Why do you ask me this?" he sighs and puts the phone down on the coffee table, it's on this time, and you can see the many notifications when the screen lights up. That can't be good, you think, but you do not even think about reaching for the phone, since Kun turns your head to face him by gripping your chin between two fingers.
You frown, your mouth opening slightly at his sudden move. "You haven't touched your phone since you've been here, and today you decided to do it, because you knew I wasn't coming back, why?" he asks in a firm voice, and you avoid his gaze, which doesn't seem to please him. "Good dolls look at me when I talk to them." he says with clenched teeth, and you shake your head. "I- I'm not a doll."
Kun scoffs, rolling his eyes. "Of course not. You are not, you are right. You don't deserve to be one of my dolls." this sudden realization makes you open your eyes wide, shaking your head. "What? Of course I deserve it!" when he shakes his head, your eyes fill with tears and he refrains from stroking your cheeks to calm you down. "No. A doll doesn't look to see someone else when I'm not around." it's crazy how fast a few words made you change your mind about being a doll.
You manage to extricate yourself from his grip, and you climb onto his lap, wrapping your arms around his neck. Kun is surprised at your sudden behavior, and even though he knows he cannot give in, stay firm, he does nothing to stop it. But he doesn't touch you either, even though his hands only want one thing: to rest on your waist. "You are wrong, Kun, I didn't want to see anyone. I just wanted to watch, and I didn't even do it, I fell asleep before it turned on." you speak in a quick manner. "Hey, breathe." he says, and you take a deep breath.
Kun looks at his watch, and he makes a noise of surprise or aknowlegdment, you don't really know. "Did you drink any water today?" he asks, and you are surprised at the sudden change of tone in Kun's voice. "No, I was sleeping." now, he understands. "That's why you decided to act like this! You silly goose, you know you need to drink." you pout when Kun puts you down on the couch, because you already miss Kun's warm touch and scent. "I'll be right back."
A minute or two later, Kun returns with a glass of water in his hand, and he hands it to you. "Drink it all." you nod and take the glass to drink the content. Over time, you started to ignore the weird aftertaste that burns your throat a bit when Kun give you something to drink. He settles down next to you again to pull you onto his lap without waiting, except this time, he wraps his arms around your waist to press your chest against his. "You can't disobey me anymore, okay?" you nod.
"Yes, I will not do it again, I promise." he puts his hand on the back of your head, and he pulls you in for a languid kiss. But before you can initiate anything, he breaks the kiss. "I'm so sorry, I just want to be a good doll." you whisper close to his ear, and he smiles weakly. "I know that my love, and you are, it's just that sometimes you get distracted. But that won't happen again, I'll make sure of it myself."

Chapter five: Taeyong.
For the following weeks, Kun makes sure not to leave you alone for too long. And the more time passes, the less able you feel to regain full control over your body. Kun does everything for you, he doesn't let you lift a finger, if only to clear your plate. If your thought were yours, you would wonder when he plans on spoon feed you himself, but they haven't belonged to you for a long time.
Sometimes you have moments of lucidity. Your eyes clear, and your memories come back, the times you spent with Taeyong, the life you had before meeting Kun, and during those brief moments, you wonder if you'll ever get back to those times you genuinely took for granted. You began to write in a notebook what you remember in these moments, and the time when it happens. And every time, it is before breakfast, when you get out of bed.
Like all plans, Kun's isn't foolproof, luckily you manage to keep it to yourself. You refuse to think about what would happen if he ever found out that sometimes you become yourself, Y/n, and not Kun's doll. Even in these times, you are not afraid of Kun, because you know he'll never hurt you, at least not physically, he is way too sweet, and too in love to do it. Because yes, despite the mental ordeal he makes you live on a daily basis, he loves you, you know it.
Maybe you should stop forcing yourself to remember your old life, and come to terms with what you have become. Maybe you'll get used to it, and start to appreciate what is offered to you, you think, looking at yourself in the bathroom mirror, the only place you can have a little bit of privacy. You rub cold water on your face, because you know that in a few minutes, when Kun gives you your drink, you will not be yourself. And when you turn to take the towel, you hear a little noise coming from the bedroom.
You frown, it is not Kun, you can hear the noises coming from the kitchen. So you come out of the bathroom, and you follow the noise that continues, to Kun's bedsite table which you open, and what a surprise when you find your phone. It's on, and Taeyon's photo appears on the screen. You take it, and with a trembling hand, you answer.
"Hello?" you ask, and the noise you hear coming from Taeyong is barely describable. It's a mix of surprise and relief. "Oh my god, Y/n! Do you have any idea how scared I've been for months?" you bite your lower lip. "I'm sorry." you answer, and he growls from the other side. You can't imagine what he felt. "Where are you? Are you okay? Are you safe?"
When you are about to answer, you hear footsteps coming towards the bedroom door. "I have to go." and you hang up before shoving the phone in the drawer before closing it. And when the door opens, you turn to him, smiling. "Is everything okay?" Kun asks, and you walk up to him, nodding your head. "Perfectly fine, I was ready to come down." you put your hands on his chest, and you kiss Kun softly.
Kun answers to the kiss, one of his hands fiddling with the pendant of your necklace. He doesn't express it very often, but he is extremely proud to see you wearing it every day. It shows that you belong to him, even if you do not need it, you prove it to him every day. "Come eat." he says against your lips, and you take his hand to exit the room.
Once in the kitchen, you drink the glass of juice offered to you, and the effects come much faster now. And when you are finally in Kun doll's mindset, you feel stupid for answering Taeyong, so much so that you feel ready to confess everything to him, and ask him to throw the phone away for you to no longer be tempted, but you do not. "I love you Kun." you say, which surprises the man who smiles with a sweetness that warms your heart. "I love you too, doll, more than anything in the world."

Chapter six: Yes, bad doll.
Kun has to go to work.
To do that, he made sure to give you a double dose last night, to make sure he wouldn't have to deal with another scene like last time. He trusts you, but you can never be too careful, he thinks, looking at you. You are sleeping peacefully, and you are so beautiful, he wonders what he has done to have a person like you in his life. You are the most beautiful doll, his best creation. However, when he met you, it was not a won situation. But you proved to him that you were capable of changing, and he would give his life for you.
He places a kiss on your forehead, and he pulls back when you stire in your sleep. For a second, he thinks he woke you up, but no, you turn, your breathing still deep. His little angel. He gets out of the room, takes his satchel, and leaves the house.
When you open your eyes, it is not because of the sun coming through the curtains, but because of the knocking on the door. You whine, and wonder when the noises will stop, but they don't. Kun must not have heard it, or he is not home. So reluctantly, you get out of bed. You have to hold on to the wall to walk, to avoid tripping. You feel feverish, and so so tired.
When, at least, you arrive at the bottom of the stairs, you approach the door. Everything is silent, and you regret having moved, but as your turn on your heels, the knocking on the door resumes. You open it, and you frown when your eyes fall on a man. He is not very tall, his hair is pink and washed out. He looks like he has not slept in weeks, and when his eyes fall on you, you wonder if he is going to cry.
"Y/n!" he throws himself on you to hug you to his chest. You know if Kun witnessed the scene, you would be in trouble, and yet, you stay in the man's arms. The warmth that he gives off, his perfume, his simple way of being are not unknown to you. "Taeyong." you breath, and the boy pulls back, his hands still resting on your shoulders. "I hope you have some explanations for me, young lady. I've been looking for you for months!"
"How did you find me?" you ask, cocking your head. He is truly struggling to recognize you. Your eyes are glassy, and he can no longer see the happiness and mischief he used to read in your eyes back in the days. "Thanks to your phone. I just wanted to make sure you were safe." you nod, hugging your body with your arms. "Of course I'm safe. Kun takes good care of me, and he loves me very much. I love him too."
Taeyong frowns, he feels liks he is listening to a robot, or a pre-recorded message. It is no longer his best friend that he has in front of him, but someone else, and he does not know how to explain what exactly has changed so much, or what could have happened. He even wonder if you weren't brainwashed, joined a cult, or had a frontal lobotomy. He knows it's stupid, but he is stupid, and those are the only thought that come to him. He is far from reality.
"Can I come in?" Taeyong asks, trying to see the inside of the house over your shoulder, and you bite your lip. You are not sure Kun would enjoy seeing a stranger in his own home, but he is not here right now, and a good doll must also be a kind and welcoming host, so you shrug. "Yes, of course." you push yourself out of the door to let Taeyong in, he wolf-whistles when he sees the inside, and how clean and shiny everything is. "Wow.
You head for the kitchen. "You can sit if you want. Do you want something to drink?" you ask, but he shakes his head. "No thanks." he sits down on a stool around the kitchen island, and you sit across from him, your hands resting on the cold surface of the counter. "So? Tell me everything that happened." yes, you suspected he would ask you the question. "I met Kun in the bar where we were that night. And I don't know, things happened naturally after we saw each other again. I think moving here was the next logical step, it just happened."
"But that doesn't explain why you stopped responding to my messages, and giving signs of life." Taeyong's voice is painful, even for you. You sigh, playing with a thread on your pyjama sleeve. "I don't know, Taeyong." it's the truth, you do not even know why you stopped caring about your phone, you who spent most of your time on it. "But I'm sorry." are you really? Not really.
You spend the next two hours talking. Well, Taeyong talks about things that have happened over the past few months, and you listen. You try to smile, nod at the right time, and be happy to be with him again, but you can't stop thinking about Kun, and what he is going to think when he finds out he's been here today. Not that he is preventing you from having contact with the outside world, but seeing how he reacted when you wanted to use your phone, you suspect that he is not going to be very happy.
"...and Ten started screaming." Taeyong says, and you open your mouth to laugh, but instead, your mouth opens in a silent cry as Taeyong's face makes contact with the kitchen island in a violent manner. So violent that he loses consciousness almost immediately. Behind him, you see Kun, and what you read in his eyes is nothing but pure rage. Your breathing is plowed, and you get up from your chair.
"Why would you do that?" you ask in a panicked voice, and he shakes his head, clicking his tongue. "You should thank me." he says as he approaches Taeyong. He grabs his hair to lift his head, and you gag when you see the amount of blood on his face. "But he didn't do anything!" you defend, and he laughs coldly, so much so that an unpleasant shiver runs down your spine.
He lets Taeyong's head fall back, and he looks at you. It's not longer disappointment he is showing, but something more intense. He is scary, and yet he smiles at you. "You know, I really thought you were different. When I met you, I finally thought I had found it, the perfect doll. I loved you so much, and I would have given you everything, even my life, and yet you decided to betray me." you shake your head as you join Kun.
"I didn't betray you Kun. He came on his own, I didn't contact him. I didn't tell him anything, we didn't do anything either." you say, cupping Kun's face, but he takes a step back to avoid the contact almost immediately, and ouch, that hurts. "I love you Kun, I love you so much." you continue in a whisper, and he shakes his head.
"If you really loved me, you wouldn't have let him in. You would have told him to go, and you would have moved on with your day. But no, you decided to be a little slut." A little slut? You would never dare to do such thing. You love Kun, and only Kun. No matter what he puts you through every day trying to make you the perfect doll, you have never loved anyone as much as you love Kun.
"I'm not a slut, Kun. I'm your little doll." you say in a low voice, not daring to look Kun in the eyes anymore. You feel him approaching you, and you refrain from taking a step back. "Are you sure of that? Are you my perfect doll?" he asks, and you nod. "And what would my perfect doll do for me?" you lift your head, and run the tip of your tongue over your dry lips. "Anything Kun. I would do anything for you."
"Very well." that's all he says before heading to the locked cabinet. The one in which he takes the small bottle of transparent liquid every morning. The bottle is full, and you wonder how get manages to get so many. You follow his every move with your eyes, and you frown when you see him emptying the entire bottle into a glass. And he pours a small amount of fruit juice into the glass before mixing everything.
He hands you the glass, and he says. "Drink."
You shake your head with vigor, you do not intend to drink the content of this glass. Only god knows what could happen to you. "You said you would do anything for me, and I want you to drink." he walks up to you, and every time he takes a step forward, you take a step back. At least until your back makes contact with the kitchen wall. You are stuck, you know it, Kun is too fast, if you try to escape, he will catch up with you in an instant.
"You said you were a perfect little doll. And you know very well that dolls listen and obey when I ask them something." his voice is much softer now, and you get lost in his big dark eyes. So much love are in his eyes, so he might not be able to hurt you, right? He is just playing with you to see your reaction, to see what you are ready to do for him, right? Taeyong growls behind Kun, but he doesn't pay him the slightest attention. "So?"
"I'm going to drink, because I love you Kun, and I want you to know that I am your perfect doll. Your best creation." you say in a whisper as you take the glass, and Kun looks satisfied. You pursue your lips, and it takes a minute for you to muster the courage to open your mouth and drink the content of the glass. The taste is horrible, and the burning sensation in your throat makes you cough hardly. You drop the glass which shatters to the ground. Kun hasn't moved, unlike you, he is too busy looking at you. He knows what is going to happen, and for many reasons, and he doesn't want to miss a thing.
"You know, Y/n, I've had a lot of dolls before you. They were different from each other, and each time I thought I had found the right one, but each time, I was wrong. They always found a way to lie to me, and betray my trust. But when I saw you, when I saw the effort you were willing to make to please me, I really believed you would be the last." he cannot hide his disappointment, and his disgust.
"I loved all of my dolls, trust me, but you... I never felt something so strong for any of them. You were the exception. The one and only." you are having a hard time keeping your eyes open, and slowly, you slide along the wall. Not only do your legs seem to weight a ton, you feel like your heart is doing things it shouldn't be doing. It beats too fast, and too slowly at the same time.
You have chills, and a cold sweat covers your forehead, and rolls down your spine. Soon, your lungs are racing, and it becomes more and more difficult for you to breathe. Kun crouches down in front of you, his fingers sliding down your wet cheeks from the tears you didn't know were rolling. "You are lucky, because your life will end in a much more peaceful way than theirs."
"I could have let them go. I could have helped them get rid of the drugs in their bodies, and let them go back to a normal life, but I couldn't afford to risk being reported to the police, or to see them with someone else, I hope you understand." he turns to looks at Taeyong who gradually regains consciousness. "And unfortunately, your little friend won't have an ending as sweet as yours. It'll teach him to not stick his nose where it does not belong."
Kun talks, but it's just gibberish to you, you can't concentrate. You can't. All you can do is put your hand down to your chest, it's so painful, everything burns. You are hot, and cold. A broken sob escapes your lips, and Kun places a kiss on your lips. "I will never love any of my next dolls as much as I loved you, I promise." he whispers against your lips. "I don't think I can love anyone after you. You were all I ever dreamed of."
You vision gradually fades. You see nothing, except the contours of Kun's body. You do not feel anything either. You do not know how long you've been on the ground, but you are not in pain anymore. You are at peace, you think, as you take your last breath.
A single tear rolls down Kun's cheek when he sees you take your last breath. His heart breaks, but he gets up. Kun could have forgiven you, of course, he dreams of nothing other than spending the rest of his life with you, but he hates being betrayed. No matter how intense his love for you was over the past few months, he refuses to be used. Trust is what matters most to him, and he knows the next few months will be horrible, it will take time for him to recover from your death, your "accidental" overdose, but he will. And he'll try again.
One more name to add to his list of failure.
But first, he has to take care of Taeyong. He can't have a witness in his house, or maybe he can use him. He is a handsome boy, he could be useful in his search for the perfect doll.

Today begins the hiatus that others took during Lent. And since mine isn’t due to liturgical observance, I’ll be out until the latter days of August at least. While tumblr is indeed in many ways the most tolerable social media site at the moment, it’s still tumblr. The connectivity-forced hiatus of 2020 (which lasted almost six weeks) actually turned out quite fruitful, so I’ve decided on a voluntary break this year.
And since this post will be up for a while, perhaps I should mention a few things:
I don’t follow anyone here. I figure that if posts will be buried in the feed anyway, I might as well read the posts on the actual blogs (where I can see the theme). Of course I won’t keep up very well, but I’ll be failing actively!! — The way I fail at other things. I’m so sorry D-': Also, I like being able to ignore the dashboard and trending page.
I currently only have two tags. I might add a few when I get back, I might not. I don’t tag religious-y posts as Catholic because what I blog about is filed under God and His Church in one way or another. Also, I don’t comment in tags, and I probably won’t, ever. I rather like commas.
I am convinced that this time off is important, and I’ll be disabling / hiding the app for the duration of the break. Still, there are persons whose off-tumblr lives I wonder about, and who I wish I knew ‘in person’ (whether or not I see their names in the notifications). I will be thinking of them, and I look forward to checking back on their blogs when I resume posting. As for those that I’ve had … erm ... not-so-pleasant interactions with, I wish them well anyway. I’m afraid I'm really not much for spite and vindictiveness. The thought already makes me tired.
So, with best regards, I take my leave for now.

first line game 🖋
Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all!). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line. Then tag 10 of your favorite authors!
Thank you for the tag @glittering-git!!! Going back 20 fics takes me to April of 2018. I think the only pattern is that my first lines tend to be pretty short. There is very little punctuation other than commas and periods. Almost all refer to a person, either describing or them doing something. Yet only one begins with dialogue (the single Devilman fic, and incidentally the nearly-complete sequel also begins with dialogue.) Over time, I think I show improvement! I’m not sure how representative of my writing this is, however, as I’m more concerned with an opening paragraph rather than lines.
All of these are Drarry, complete, and rated E unless otherwise noted.
1. You’ll Love (To Let Go) -- It was the noise that woke Harry up.
2. King's Crossing (WIP) -- All the trees were bending down to hold him in their arms.
3. New Chevrolet In Flames (Devilman, M, Ryo/Akira) -- “Not again,” Akira groans as Ryo pulls up to the curb.
4. The Company of The Rose -- Brunch, according to Pansy, was the most important meal of the day.
5. Let's Kiss and Make Up -- Washing up just isn't the same without him.
6. Table Ten -- Every Thursday night was Open Mic Night at the cafe.
7. don’t say you love me, that’s extortion -- Harry is only allowed to say it when Draco is asleep.
8. Cryptography -- With a whir and a snap, the sides of the cube fell into place, and a warm glow filled the room.
9. Harriet Evans and the Happily Ever After (G, Ronmione with potential Drarry) -- It was bedtime in the Granger-Weasley household, and there was a change to the routine.
10. More Than Friends (G) --The door to the compartment slid open, and Ginny slipped inside.
11. Turncoat -- (G) When the smoke had cleared and the Horcrux dissolved, Harry, Ron and Hermione stood shell-shocked outside the Room of Requirement.
12. Taphonomy (T, Lucius/Narcissa) -- She’s holding another person in her body, and yet she’s never felt more alone.
13. To Keep the Heart’s Action -- Vampires are disgusting.
14. Variation -- The Malfoy Heir lives in Malfoy Manor.
15. House Cup Blues -- In front of the hourglasses that displayed House Points, two students stopped — or rather, one student stopped and the other ran into them.
16. all the good that won't come out (T, Daphne/Pansy, background Drastoria) -- The bookshop is Daphne’s refuge from the world.
17. In this world (we’re just beginning) (T) -- It’s not like Harry hasn’t seen the latest Muggle fashions.
18. Does Your Heart Beat Slower (M, Dransy) -- Pansy has never seen the Manor looking so gloomy.
19. Really Good, Indeed -- Sometimes, Harry and Draco still liked to fight.
20. Electric Demons in Love -- It had to be Dark Magic.
As to picking a favorite... hmm. I like the ones that make you guess a little bit, like #1 (what noise?) or #7 (allowed to say what?)  Overall, though, I’ll have to go with 12. It’s very sharp. What do you guys think?
This has illuminated how much I don’t like the opening line of my Big Bang, and that I really need to make it punchier. That’s what editing is for!
I never tag a lot of people on these (ten whole tags? hahaha social anxiety says no) and this is a lot of work so feel free to ignore, but I’d love to see first lines from @phenomenalasterisk @sunflower-swan @candybarrnerd

Sunbeams Are Never Made Like Me - Chapter 1
Summary: Chrissy Andersen (original character) just moved to the Outer Banks from Alaska to live with her uncle. It doesn’t take long though for her to catch the eye of the notorious JJ Maybank with her badass ‘girl going somewhere attitude’ and love for the ocean and 90′s grunge and feminist punk. (Basically just a whole lotta angst and S L O W  B U R N.)
Author’s Note: Ignore the terrible grammar and numerous comma splices. I don’t know how I’ve done two years of college either, trust me. Also I realize that this chapter is pretty heavy for a first chapter but I just wanted to put a lot of the OC’s past out there to begin with, chapter 2 will be a lot more mellow I promise. Plus I think we’ll see some JJ next chapter!!!
Warning: mentions of alcoholism/addiction (entire series)
Word Count: ≈4000

(I’m just gonna tag everyone who liked/reblogged my initial post because I’m lowkey an attention whore, but don’t worry I won’t tag you in the next part unless you want me to!)
Chapter 1 - Leaving Alaska
Chrissy Andersen had never seen the Atlantic Ocean before, hell, she’d never been anywhere further east than Idaho and yet here she was in North Carolina. Nearly everything she’d ever owned was piled around her at the Chapel Hill ferry terminal, ready to be moved to a place she had only seen once in a postcard. Standing on the sidewalk that overlooked the harbor, all Chrissy could say was that she was less than impressed so far by the East Coast and its ocean. The water lapped too slowly along the shore for her liking, the waves breaking on the rocks below and pushing up against the boats tied to the dock murky and weak. It was nothing in comparison to the Pacific she was used to back in Alaska- powerful and cold.
“But this is still ocean” she tried to remind herself,  “it can still feel like home as long as the ocean is here”.
Glancing at the water again, it was hard to imagine there could be much of anything alive down there. Chrissy scanned the rocks lining the bulkhead, looking for crabs, starfish, anything really but the murk seemed devoid of life. She wrinkled her nose at it, maybe it wouldn’t feel like home after all. It was hard to imagine anyone could stake their life on shrimp in a place with waters like this, let alone her own uncle. Her uncle who had seen 8 inch dungies on the regular and lost copious amounts of tackle fighting salmon back home in Seattle. But if he placed his livelihood in Atlantic shrimp for nearly a decade then so could she, but it wasn’t like she had a lot of choice. She would be living under his roof for the foreseeable future
In Chrissy’s life, there was little about where she came from that she was proud of but she was proud to be able to call herself a tough west coast girl. Particularly proud in fact to say she knew the evergreen forests and jagged coastline of the Pacific Northwest like the back of her own two hands. She was more comfortable amongst the cedars and the white caps back home than anywhere else. There was just something magical about the gloom and depth of the land in that part of the world. And while she had little to compare it to, in her mind it was the most beautiful too. She would miss Alaska’s rough clear waters and mossy rocks but the move out to North Carolina would be good. A fresh start. A chance to take control of her own life for once.
Getting on the plane to fly to the Carolina coast had been harder than Chrissy had imagined. Leaving Alaska she knew was the best decision she could make for herself but that didn’t make leaving any easier. Watching the dark inlets and glassy waters of Anchorage disappear outside the tiny round airplane window as they rose had been heartbreaking. She didn’t know if her heart could handle any of these new cracks, but she had forced herself to watch the land fade away beneath her anyways. It was the last bit of Alaska she would have for who knew how long. Part of her found it almost funny how much Alaska had managed to take a grip on her heart considering she’d spent less than half her life there. The majority had been spent in Seattle until her mom’s death and her dad’s subsequent relocation to Anchorage under the guise of a better paying fishing rig job. Alaska, in most ways Chrissy discovered, wasn't too different from her home state of Washington yet the cold winters and the bright nights had been difficult to get accustomed to at first. Shortly after the move though, her father slumped back into his usual hole and turned to drinking like he always had. Despite that, their first couple years in Alaska had been alright, he worked, she started a new school, and they lived paycheck to paycheck like they always had. When he lost the job on the crab boat though, he fell quicker than before into his ever deepening hole, too fast for Chrissy to try to pull him back up again. From then on he was in and out of work no matter what she did to help. It hadn’t taken too long for Chrissy to grow up after that, learning to slyly pay bills the moment his pay check came in and pick up extra shifts at the diner she worked at to supplement what he burned drinking.
She remembered the immense loneliness that weighed on her every day after he lost that crabbing job as she looked out over the harbor to the distant barrier islands that would soon be her home. How her father had all but abandoned her from that day forward, how she had woken up every morning at 4 am to try to convince him to get up for work, or how she had to squeeze in a few hours at the diner before school just to make ends meet. Most nights from there forward she had gone to bed wishing to be back in their Seattle apartment, listening to her mom sing along to Joan Jett and Green River in the kitchen. Would this move be like that too? Chrissy didn’t know if she could handle those emotions all over again, even if she was tougher and more clever now than she had been back then. All she could do for now was hope that this move to the Outer Banks would turn out better than Alaska.
After three years of working herself to the bone for him she deserved a chance to at least try and fight for her own life. There wasn’t enough of her dad left to pull together anymore and her mom obviously wasn’t around to open his eyes to the world like she always had before. As much as Chrissy wanted to be there for him and help him get back on his feet, she couldn’t do it anymore. It had taken her a long time to realize it but there was no way to do that without sacrificing herself and her own happiness. It took everything in her to call it quits on him, it was the hardest thing she’d ever done. Chrissy thought about all this as the silty ocean churned out in the harbor. Had it really only been three years that she had been living like that? It felt like an eternity. She could remember the moment she had first stepped foot into the diner asking for a job, any job. That 14 year old Chrissy standing there was a different person, so far removed from who she was now, that it felt like she was watching someone else reenact those memories as they played out in her head rather than just remembering them.
A breeze blew in off the water, brushing the edges of the crumpled dollar bills in her fist back against her hand. She’d never put them back in her wallet after the taxi driver had handed her the change nearly twenty minutes ago when he’d dumped her on the Chapel Hill dock and disappeared back off toward the airport. Time moved like molasses here she thought, maybe it was the muggy air or the slowness of the people milling around the ferry terminal. Either way time seemed to have slowed considerably since she left Alaska. Her oversized suitcase and duffle bag were stacked next to her as she leaned on the pipe railing that ran parallel to the water. She wrapped her leg casually around the duffle in some false sense of protection, as if it would keep someone from slipping off with it. Not that any of the uptight rich folks waiting for the ferry would want anything she had. They were all too busy corralling their numerous shopping bags and commenting on the historical architecture to notice some out of place Alaskan girl with shifty eyes. It was strange for her to have everything she owned tucked away into these bags. It made her life feel small and insignificant, as if she were to lose her bags she herself would disappear into thin air. Never to have made it out to North Carolina, never to have left Alaska, never to have existed in the first place.
Chrissy checked her watch as she tucked the bills into her wallet. She needed to buy a ferry ticket at some point for the 3:15 sailing, but after the long flight she wasn’t in too big of a rush to wade through the crowds of stuffy people. Stepping back from the railing, Chrissy glanced over towards the ferry dock, more people had begun to mill around the pier waiting for its arrival. Collecting her bags she made her way over toward the little booth selling tickets. Behind the counter an older woman with graying hair and a bitter look on her face was replacing the tape in her register.
“Hi, excuse me, I need to buy a walk-on ticket for the 3:15 trip,” Chrissy asked, trying her best to not make the woman any more upset.
“A walk-on? Honey all there is, is damn walk on. This is Outer Banks not New York City,” the woman said, her eyes pointed.
“Oh sorry, I just... uh… am used cargo ferries…like in… in Alaska” Chrissy trailed off, quickly handing her the cash for the ticket.
“Boards on that dock, you can sit over there if you got baggage to load” the woman pointed vaguely in the direction of the water
So much for southern hospitality, Chrissy noted as she made her way over towards the benches where the woman had gestured.
When the ferry arrived Chrissy realized just why the woman had thought her so crazy for mentioning walk-on tickets. The boat had only three decks in total complete with ornate green trim and railings. She could practically see Antebellum era southern belles in flamboyant dresses and oversized hats promenading across its top deck. In comparison to the large industrial ferries she was used to back home this one was comical. Was this really how people got around here? Guess it pays to live in a land of white sand beaches and summer homes. You can have all the cutesy historical ferries you want, no matter how impractical.
When the boat loaded Chrissy made her way to the upper deck, enjoying the open air seating and the view back at the mainland as they left the pier. The warm Carolina air felt nice blowing through her hair, she couldn’t remember the last time she felt this kind of calm, this lack of responsibility and stress. Glancing back toward Chapel Hill, it dawned on her exactly how big of a moment this would be in her life, how everything was going to be so different from here on out. No more long nights at the diner, no more Alaskan winters, no more filling in for her father’s missed shifts on the crabbing boat.
As the green and white ferry continued to plow through the Atlantic current, she watched the people around her. Some were clearly the rich families she had seen on the dock back from shopping trips on the mainland, others were like her - working class, poor folks. They sat by themselves few and far between, spaced away from the starched pastel families. She watched one pair; a mother and her adult daughter, obviously back from housekeeping work on the mainland, laugh loudly amongst themselves. Compared to the rich folks that talked over each other in demanding tones, these two appeared as if they were in a bubble, too preoccupied with making the other smile to notice the dirty looks they got from the passing families. It was peculiar Chrissy thought how wealth seemed to push up against the working class everywhere-demanding more and more space no matter how little they deserved it. It didn’t matter if you were in rural Alaska or a beachy southern paradise, it was always there Chrissy realized.
The mainland became a fuzzier and fuzzier blur of gray and white as it disappeared off the back of the boat. Her uncle had told her over the phone when she called him from the airport that he would meet her at the dock when she got in. She didn’t know how much longer it would be until they got there but she couldn’t wait to see him. Chrissy hadn’t seen her Uncle Chip since her mom’s death, and even though they rarely got a chance to talk since then he was still one of her favorite people in the whole world. Before he had moved to the Outer Banks in pursuit of some girl (who was long gone by now) he had lived only a few blocks away from them in Seattle.
Her mom and him had gone to grunge and punk shows every weekend when she was little, back when the music scene was still strong in Washington. They loved music more than anything, and they could spend hours geeking out over zines and the tiny underground shows they’d caught the night before. The mornings after concerts she would always wake up to her Uncle Chip making pancakes and coffee in the kitchen. He liked to crash on their couch those nights despite the fact that it was only a couple minute walk to his own place. He would play Candy Land with her no matter how many times they had played before and he could make her laugh like no one else could. In fact he was probably more like a dad to her than her own dad was.
When she had first called him up months ago to ask if she could come stay with him in Outer Banks for a while he had simply laughed, ‘why would you even think for a minute that I would ever say no, Chris. You know I love you, of course.’
In that moment his words had made her want to cry, but she had held her tears back and told him she’d let him know when she would be able to get away. She remembered cradling her phone in her hand thinking she should have asked earlier, got out earlier, lived her own life earlier,  it's not like Chip hadn’t always been there, only a call away. Chrissy hoped he would recognize her now that she was grown up, not only was she taller but her hair darker and shorter than it had been when she last saw him.
The speaker on the ferry crackled to life, announcing that they would be docking shortly and to please prepare to disembark. She wandered back inside the boat and down to the lower level to claim her bags. She watched the land approach through the dirty ferry windows, the trees on the shore filled with spanish moss and the dock crowded with tugboats getting ready to leave for the mainland. At least the tugboats and their worn out looking crew members were the same everywhere she thought- at least that was something familiar.
Stepping off the boat onto dry land, she scanned the groups of people waiting in the parking lot for her uncle. She spotted him almost immediately across the lot leaning against the side of an old two toned red and white F-250. He looked the same to her, his hair maybe a bit grayer, his skin a bit browner, but the same really. She waved wildly at him, dragging her heavy bags behind her.
“Chrissy” he yelled, running towards her. “Look at you… all grown up, god you’re makin’ me feel ancient” he laughed.
He pulled her into a hug, forcing her to drop her bags to the ground. He smelled the same too, like salt and the warmth that can only come from spending hours working under the sky.
“It’s so good to see you, I’ve missed you,” her voice muffling into his faded t-shirt.
“I’m glad you’re here,” his voice suddenly becoming more serious. He held her back by the shoulders. “My god you look like your mother, you’re tall like her. You got that whole ‘girl goin’ somewhere’ look in your eyes too like she always had. Tell me about your flight, how was the ferry ride? Did you like Chapel Hill?”
He didn’t wait for her to answer, picking up the bags she had abandoned on the ground by their feet and hauling them back towards his truck. He looked at her over his shoulder, a bit of sadness hanging behind the happy glint in his eyes.
“I hate to tell ya but I got to say I can see some of your dad in ya too, you got those green eyes of his for sure,” he adds, slamming the tailgate shut.
“Yeah” Chrissy gave him a small smile; climbing into the passenger side of the Ford, beginning to tell him all about her travels.
Chip turned the ignition in the truck as he watched over his shoulder at the lot filled with families piling into their cars. An old Soundgarden song coming over the radio as he waited for a particularly shrill mother in a hideous yellow dress try to load her numerous kids into a shiny BMW.
“Hey listen to that,” he said, reaching over to turn up the volume. “This god awful station is actually playing some good shit for once. I mean its ‘Black Hole Sun’ but still, I gotta take what I can get around here.” He laughed loudly.
She had missed this, the religious devotion to rock bands, the never ending critique of mainstream radio disc jockeys. As annoying as it was at times it felt like home to her. Her mom had been exactly like this.
“If you hate this station so much then, why don’t you play  your own goddamn tapes,” she yelled over the song. The music was loud- like real loud-like rattling the nickels in the cup holder loud.
“Uh-uh, you don’t get to banter with me little lady, not when you just got here- not when I haven’t seen you in nearly a decade. Plus, don’t you know I’m practically king around here, and you never argue with the king,” he joked, turning out of the parking lot.
“Is that so?”
A middle aged couple in matching lilac button ups shot glares their way as the truck's tires hit the pavement, the sound of Chris Cornell’s voice booming out the speakers and open windows.
“What with them?” Chrissy asked, glaring back as she cranked the window down further.
“Ah, that’s just the Figure Eight crowd- a little taste of the local rich people for ya. Who apparently also have no taste”
“So… same shit, different state?”
“Yep, although these folks might be worse, at least the assholes back in Seattle have the decency not to dress like 80’s golfers all the time” he laughs at his own joke.
Chrissy felt herself relaxing into the door, chin coming to rest in the crook of her elbow that she had propped up on the window. She watched the trees go by as the truck slowed into the downtown area. A silence falling between them as he let her get her first glimpse of the island. The radio continued to blare as the song came to an end and the intro to Hotel California began. She heard Chip grumble to himself from the opposite side of the truck about having to put up with the Eagles, but she knew how much he secretly liked the Eagles more than he would care to admit. The town was small, just a few strips of buildings, a pharmacy, a grocery, a post office, nothing too fancy. Her uncle pointed out a fish market at the edge of town that he sold shrimp and crabs to and the house he rented a room out of when he first moved here a decade or so ago. The town was quaint, if not a little overly cutesy and touristy she thought.
Leaving town and winding down the main road on the island, Chrissy could smell the ocean in the air even though they had moved away from the beach. The trees here were nothing like back home but they were magical in their own way despite their small size. The moss that clung to their branches and hung down in the breeze reminded her of the rainforests on the Washington coast that were almost more moss and lichen than anything else. She mentioned this to Chip, the early afternoon sun combing through her wind blown hair.
“It’s like Washington, all this moss. But at the same time not at all,” she said.
“Yeah, I guess it sorta is, isn’t it” he chuckled. “I guess I’ve forgotten just how much moss there is back home”
Chrissy wondered what her life on this island would be like, if she’d ever get used to these trees, who she would become, or just how long she would end up staying out here. It seemed nice, Outer Banks, certainly better than Alaska, but she’d been on the island less than twenty minutes and her mind was already drifting back to the Pacific Northwest.
“Welcome to The Cut,” her uncle said suddenly, waving his arm out the window at the passing houses each complete with their own dilapidated boat left high and dry in front yards or driveways.
“The what?”
“The Cut, the poor people’s part of the island, the working class, the good ol’ folks, the blue collars, our people, Chris.”
“Oh- nice,” she raised her eyebrows at him, honestly a bit unimpressed.
They drove a few more minutes before Chip turned off onto a dirt road and slowed to a stop in front of a small white house.  The yard was unkempt, piles of shrimping nets, loose buoys and crawdad traps strewn across it; the grass and weeds threatening to swallow the house whole any second now. The outside of the house itself though was tidy, the windows clean, the trim freshly painted, the stairs to the side door swept. That about summed up her uncle she thought to herself, meticulously neat in some areas and completely unattentive in others. Chip pushed the truck into park and she slid out of the cab ready to grab her bags.
“Hey, hey wait up, I got a little surprise for ya before we head in. The bags aren’t gonna run off anywhere in the meantime,” he said, steering her away from the bed of the truck.
“What, what, what you'd do?” She resisted his pushing, trying to turn around to look at her uncle.
He had a wide mischievous grin plastered to his face. Chrissy squinted her eyes at him, trying not to smile. She was so happy to be here with him. Chip pulled her around to the side of the house where the grass was thin and more trampled down.
“Close your eyes. Close your eyes”
“Ok,” Chrissy said, covering her eyes with her hands.
“Alright, wait just a second,” she could hear him pulling a tarp off something.
“Open your eyes.”
Chrissy pulled back her hands, her eyes adjusting to the bright summer sun. In front of her was a rusted up hunk of a car. She could tell at one point it had been a soft frosted green but now it was scratched up and sanded in random phases of repair.
“A Chevelle? You got me a Chevelle, a Chevelle SS? Seriously?”
“Yeah, yeah” he said excitedly, grinning at her with his big smile.
“I can’t believe you did this… seriously…” Chrissy adds but he cut her off before she could finish.
“I know it looks like shit now, the body’s a mess and all, it’s this fuckin’ salt air I swear to god” he says waving his arm around at the car. “But we’ll fix it up, get a nice new paint job and all, whatever color you want.”
“It’s great, Chip, really, rust and all. I don’t care. I love it”
“Yeah? I’m glad you like it, you can drive stick right?” his voice suddenly panicked.
“Ah-huh, of course”
“Good, great. She runs beautifully, just purrs for ya. I rebuilt the whole thing, engine and all, so you shouldn’t have any problem.”
“You didn’t have to do this really.”
“I wanted to, plus you’re my favorite niece anyways. Shhh- don’t tell anyone,” he laughed, holding his finger up to his lips.
“I’m your only niece” Chrissy deadpanned, her green eyes sparkling back at him.
“Plus I’ve had the body and a lot of the parts sitting around the shop for ages, you just gave me an excuse to finally cross it off my never ending to do list.” He smiled at her as he dug in his pocket for the key.
“And this would be for you,” he added, dangling the keys in the air. He tossed them to her. The chevelle’s keys hooked on a tiny blue and yellow surfboard keychain with OBX engraved in the front.
“Thank you, really. Thank you.” she said, leaning into him and throwing her arm around his back.
Living here was already turning out better than she had imagined, but then again it wasn’t too hard to beat Alaska for her.
“You bet. So you gonna take ‘er for a spin or what?”

RP HABITS.
what’s a grammar rule you find yourself breaking or ignoring a lot?
all of them. every last one. ok maybe NOT but like... i use commas like a motherfucker. i fling colons in without caring if it actually makes sense for it to be there. i know you aren't supposed to begin a sentence with 'and' but tbh english grammar rules are Stupid and so long as they are being broken to enhance the writing and not for the purpose of unreadable poetic flowery aesthetic nonsense. who cares. (ok i care but only a little.)
how often do you reach for a synonym dictionary when writing? how about mentally?
not often tbh? i can definitely think of moments when i do, when i realize that my writing is getting redundant and i need something to break it up. a lot of times instead of using a synonym, i'll rewrite the sentence entirely, or find some way to rearrange things to avoid using the same word.
what do you do after you see a person has replied? do you read it immediately, or do you wait for it to show up on the dash? do you like it, draft it immediately, etc?
i read it immediately and i like it. i don't rly use my drafts because i want to be able to see people's tags, and drafts tend to fuck up, so i will like it and then clear it out of my likes when i reply. sometimes for especially exciting threads i will save reading it until a certain time as a treat DGFLKJF (like if i'm about to go to bed, i'll save it for the morning to read and gush over.)
do you first get in the “zone” when writing, or do you start writing and “enter” it that way?
i start typing words and pray. legit just. hope that words come out and if they don't i will stop and give up. if words come out and i do not mind the direction it is headed i will roll with it while the vibe is there. i am at the whim of my brain.

Part One
“I’ve been searching for a trail to follow again; Take me back to the night we met.”
(Lord Huron, The Night We Met)
 —
 Present Day
The salty night breeze is cool and crisp against your flushed skin. Your cheek feels warm against your palm when you lean on it; perhaps you’ve had five too many glasses of wine for this evening.
The newlyweds are slow dancing to a jazz instrumental version of “Grow Old With You” as they gaze at each other lovingly, and your lips couldn’t help but form a wistful smile. Kyungsoo’s world-famous heart-shaped grin is on full display as it has been all night. No one can blame him, really; Yuna looks beyond beautiful in her wedding gown, the light reflecting on the embedded crystals making her shine—quite literally—as if she isn’t already the most alluring woman in the room. They make a rather striking pair.
Their song choice may be questionable (“Grow Old With You” is terribly cliché for a wedding), but the pure bliss in their eyes is undeniable. Anyone with two eyes can tell that they are what each other has been looking for: the missing piece of the puzzle, or so they say.
You’re not sure how to describe it anymore, because it’s been a while since you’ve felt anything like that—since you’ve felt love.
Something buzzes on the table. Your phone lights up as you look down, displaying a text from a pathetic excuse for a best friend. You still can’t believe he left you here alone.
[ Sehun / 20:46 ] So… did you cry already? I know how weddings turn you into a crybaby.
[ You / 20:46 ] Shut up. Don’t text me. I’m still mad at you.
[ Sehun / 20:48 ] Nah, you love me too much. Is he there?
Your head instinctively snaps up after reading Sehun’s message, looking for someone you know well isn’t there. As much as you hate to admit it, you’ve been looking for him all night. To be fair, he’s supposed to be one of Kyungsoo’s closest friends, so he should be here. But you’re not sure if you’re just telling yourself that in order to justify the disappointment that you felt when you couldn’t find him anywhere.
Byun Baekhyun’s signature smirk suddenly comes into view. “Looking for someone?” He teases, as if he already doesn’t know the answer to his question. He’s still the same annoying kid after all these years.
“Maybe,” you shrug, sipping the last of your fifth wine glass as you arch your brow playfully. “Or maybe I was just looking to see which new girl you’ve managed to charm since the reception started. I stopped counting at four.”
Baekhyun laughs, the loud and high-pitched one he lets out when he’s losing it, and the sound carries a heavy wave of nostalgia with it that almost knocks you off your seat. It’s reminiscent of the high school days when the teacher wasn’t around and you and your friends would circle your armchairs around and just talk and laugh about things, with Baekhyun right in the middle of the commotion as he always was.
That was so long ago, you realize. Something pinches your heart.
“Hmm, maybe you’re the next girl I’ll charm tonight.”
Rolling your eyes, you say, “I thought we’ve established long ago that your ‘charms’ don’t work on me.”
“I know,” Baekhyun concedes, but the mischievous smile still hasn’t left his lips. “Everybody knows only one guy has managed to break through your great wall of feelings.”
It’s funny, how just as Baekhyun says that, the man you’ve been searching for all night finally shows up.
He heads to Kyungsoo and Yuna’s table before anything else, apologizing for his astounding punctuality. Nothing much has changed in the way he looks; perhaps he’s grown a bit bulkier and a couple inches taller, but he still exudes the same elfish charisma that you’re all too familiar with.
Another thing you’re all too familiar with? The pang in your chest that only he can incite.
With cold and shaking hands, you grab your phone on the table.
[ You / 20:59 ] He’s here. He just arrived.
[ Sehun / 21:00 ] Interesting.
Ignoring Sehun’s cryptic reply, you lock your phone and put it back down.
You look up to find him now standing in front of you. He looks even more the same up close—it’s almost terrifying. Your chest tightens as you take your first good look at him after ten years; his smile is just as you remember it—as bright as the sun—and his hair is styled in a way that resembles a comma, just like it was back in high school. He looks beautiful, just as you left him. Or rather, the other way around. Technically, it’s him who left you.
You haven’t seen him in so long that now, as you’re looking at him, he looks unreal, like he just somehow materialized from your memory. He seems like a dream, and he is. He always has been a dream.
“Hi,” he says.
“Hey, Chanyeol.”
  October 2005
“Chanyeol, please sit down,” Ms. Song sighs.
You laugh at the kid who was scolded. Chanyeol. He’s always at the receiving end of teachers’ scolding, but he’s not really a troublemaker. Well, not totally. He’s just goofy, that’s all. He always has this unmeasurable energy, like he eats a jar of sugar for breakfast, but he’s a nice kid.
You’ve never really talked to him in depth, but he seems like the type of person that wouldn’t be hard to be friends with. Well, he’s friends with Baekhyun, so that’s another good sign.
“Okay, now that Mr. Park’s finally settled down,” Ms. Song begins, “let’s begin our agenda for today. First things first: seating arrangements.”
The class collectively sighs.
“I hate this part of the year,” Sehun whispers. “I don’t want to switch seats. I’m perfectly fine with where I’m seated right now.”
You scoff. “You’re saying that because you copy off of me.”
“Well, you’re not wrong,” he says. “Who do you want to be seated next to for the rest of the year?”
You look around the room to see if there’s anyone you’re particularly fond of. “Hmm, I’m okay with anyone, actually,” you decide.
“I’m jealous,” Sehun pouts, and for a split second, you almost feel bad for him, but then you remember that he’s Sehun. “I’ll take anyone as a seatmate except for Baekhyun. I don’t think I can handle his mouth.”
You just laugh at Sehun’s remark. Byun Baekhyun’s infamous for being loud and outgoing. Teachers usually have a hard time shutting him up.
But Baekhyun’s nice, judging from all the times you’ve hung around him. He’s very easy-going, not difficult at all to be around with. As a matter of fact, you admire his personality; you appreciate people who always find a way to make the mood lively. Perhaps that’s why he’s friends with Chanyeol: they’re like the same person but in different bodies.
“Ms. Class President, if you’re done chortling with Mr. Oh over there, maybe you can come up here and help me do the roll call.”
“Sure thing, Ms. Song,” you smile because you know that she’s not really mad. One of the perks of being class president: you’re the homeroom adviser’s favorite. “‘Kay, guys, you know the drill: take all your stuff and form two lines at the side of the room and then sit where I tell you to.”
The class does as they’re told, but not without a few sad sighs and quiet complaints.
You’ve been in Ms. Song’s advisory class since freshman year and it’s been a tradition to change the class’ seating arrangement after every semester. Though, you’re not sure what’s the point of all this. For all you know, it’s just a waste of Ms. Song’s time to draw up different seat plans every six months, but to her credit, she always comes up with interesting seating arrangements.
The desks are arranged by two, so you don’t really have a choice but to try to get along with whoever your seatmate is going to be. This is why you couldn’t hide your laughter when you saw who Sehun was going to be stuck with for the semester.
“Oh Sehun, you get the honor to sit in the front row this time.”
In very Sehun-like fashion, he makes his way to the seat up front with his signature eye roll. He mutters something about Ms. Song being an old hag while he walks past you, but you couldn’t catch the rest of his sentence. There’s probably some more profanities in there somewhere.
“Byun Baekhyun…”
“Oh hell no,” you hear Sehun say from his seat.
Baekhyun beams. “No way. I get to sit at the front?”
“No,” Sehun repeats in disbelief.
“Yes,” you confirm with a sweet smile that you know will piss Sehun off.
Baekhyun makes his way to the other side of the desk where Sehun’s seated as you continue calling other names, and even though you couldn’t see Sehun, you’re pretty sure he’s scowling right now.
The roll call goes on. “Doh Kyungsoo, you’re with Kim Jongdae. Kim Jongin…” You falter for a second until you realize that you’re speaking in front of the class. You clear your throat, hoping no one noticed. “Jongin next to Soojung.”
From the corner of your eye, you could feel Sehun not trying his best to hide his smirk. You try your best not to glare at him and quietly remind yourself to kill him at lunch.
Jongin walks past you with Soojung following behind him, and you try to ignore the jealousy stabbing at your chest. Of all people, why did it have to be him and her?
Wanting to end the roll call as soon as possible, you babble, “Chanyeol, you’re with me,” before quickly closing Ms. Song’s class book and handing it back to her.
“Thank you, Class President,” she says. “Everyone good with their new seatmates?” A few unsatisfied whispers resonate throughout the room. “Oh, save your breaths. We all know it doesn’t matter who sits next to who in this class, you’re all gonna get loud in a few weeks time anyway. Now onto the second thing on our agenda…”
You probably should’ve been listening to that since you’re class president and all, but you’ve grown a sudden interest in your new desk because your stupid brain couldn’t stop thinking about how Jongin and Soojung are going to be seated next to each other for the rest of the year.
“That was really subtle, by the way,” your new seatmate whispers in your ear. You look at Chanyeol with fake confusion. He expounds, “You know, the roll call with Jongin and Soojung. Really subtle. Pretty sure no one noticed how you looked like someone died when you read their names together.”
You let out a half-hearted chuckle. “Baekhyun was right. You are hilarious.”
“What else has Baekhyun said about me?” He smirks.
“Not much,” you admit. “You’ll have to fill me in on the things he missed.”
  Present Day
“This whole situation is so awkward that it puts the time my mom asked my dad about his mistress to shame,” Baekhyun laughs. He’s right about this moment being awkward, but you’re not sure if he’s kidding about that other thing.
“Thank you, Baekhyun, for pointing out the obvious and for that anecdote no one asked for,” Chanyeol says, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Baekhyun stands up from his seat. “I’m impressed, Yeol. You use words like ‘anecdote’ now. Ten years ago you probably didn’t know what that meant.” Chanyeol gives him the middle finger and Baekhyun playfully slaps it away. “I guess I’ll leave the two of you to fill in each other on the things you’ve missed for the past ten years,” he simpers. “Ciao!”
When Baekhyun is out of earshot, Chanyeol says, “He’s still so… annoying.”
“Can’t argue with your logic,” you agree, laughing as you do. “I think it’s cute, though. He hasn’t changed a bit since high school.”
“Isn’t that supposed to be a bad thing? People not changing?”
“Well, it depends on the situation,” you decide after thinking about it for a while. “What I meant was that Baekhyun’s still playful. It’s kind of nice that something from high school still survived after ten years.”
“I guess you’re right,” he chuckles as he finally takes a seat beside you. “You’ve changed, though. Long time no see.”
Suddenly the room feels too cramped despite the venue being outdoors with the soft sound of waves crashing against the shore and the gentle sea breeze blowing through the reception.
“Really?” You force yourself to laugh, trying your best to ignore the way your chest is tightening. “When I saw you I thought you didn’t change much. I just thought you grew taller even though I’m not sure how that’s possible.” You’ve changed a long time ago, you want to add.
Chanyeol smiles, the kind that causes only the left side of his mouth to curl up. Oh, how you’ve missed seeing that. “You just… look different. You’re smiling wider now. It’s nice.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Well, you sported a terrifying resting bitch face in high school,” he says. “I’m pretty sure you’re aware of that, though. You’re just acting coy right now.”
You smile as you look at Chanyeol curiously, trying to gauge what game he’s playing at tonight.
‘Long time no see’ is the understatement of the century when it comes to the two of you—it’s been literally a decade since you last spoke, let alone saw each other, and yet he’s sitting here casually with you, conversing as if the last message he sent you wasn’t a birthday greeting that never got a response.
It’s not that you haven’t forgiven him. It took you a long time to realize it, but you’ve forgiven him so long ago. It just feels… weird; weird in a sense that it’s like the past ten years never happened, like the two of you are normal friends that are continuing a conversation that was interrupted.
“I’ll admit to the resting bitch face, but not the terrifying part,” you say after a while. “You were never terrified of me. You actually acted way too familiar when we first became seatmates in sophomore year, teasing me about Jongin and shit. It was really annoying, by the way.”
Chanyeol shakes his head and says, “I was extremely terrified of you. Everyone was. Apart from the permanent scowl, you were class president and everything, so you were practically untouchable. I was just trying to be friendly because I saw you hanging out with Baekhyun and anyone who’s okay with Baekhyun’s okay with me.”
“What are you talking about?” You laugh incredulously. “Everyone and their mother’s okay with Baekhyun. He was like friends with the entire school and the whole town.”
“What I meant was,” he begins to explain himself, “Baekhyun was scared of you too, but you turned out to be cool. So I assumed you had the same humor as we did.”
Your brow arches in interest. “Byun Baekhyun was scared of me in high school?”
“Plenty,” Chanyeol confirms, nodding. “Pretty sure he still is. I think everyone else, too. You have a pretty strong personality, and even though Baekhyun acts all laidback and shit, he’s scared of women who come off strong. I’m still wondering how he managed to woo Taeyeon… you remember her, right?”
“I remember Kim Taeyeon, all right,” you nod. She was literally all the boys in the school talked about, so it doesn’t make sense for anyone to not know her. “So is that why Baekhyun’s such a serial flirt? Is it his defense mechanism for women with strong personalities?”
Chanyeol shrugs, “I wouldn’t know. I’m an engineer, not a therapist. Maybe, though.”
He became an engineer after all, you silently tell yourself. Before you can say anything about it to Chanyeol, your phone buzzes again.
[ Sehun / 21:36 ] You’re talking to him right now… aren’t you?
[ You / 21:37 ] What if I am? We’re just catching up.
[ Sehun / 21:37 ] “Catching up” my balls.
“Sehun?” Chanyeol asks, stealing quick glances at your phone. He’s smiling, but there’s something else in his eyes. You don’t want to find out what that is. “I was wondering why he isn’t here.”
“I see that you’re still as nosy as ever.”
Chanyeol crosses his arms in front of his chest defensively. “To be fair, I wasn’t the one who asked you for your Twitter password when we were still—”
“You still play ball?” You question quickly to avoid the direction Chanyeol’s trying to steer this conversation into. It’s one thing to catch up; it’s another thing to bring up irrelevant things about the past. “I heard you made varsity in college.”
“Pool B, but yeah,” he answers quietly. “My favorite court’s still the run-down one in our old campus, though. Nothing compares to that, even though the backboard was practically just one layup away from breaking into a million pieces. You remember that?”
Of course you remember that stupid basketball court. How could you not?
“You and Baek and all the other guys cut class just to play ball. Delinquents.”
“Hey!” Chanyeol complains, “You did too!”
  November 2005
“Aren’t you supposed to be in class?”
An annoying shadow blocks the sunlight from where you’re seated. You open your eyes to see the source of the shadow—an equally annoying person. Chanyeol wriggles his eyebrows at you, prompting you to answer him, but your mind goes blank as your vision recovers from the sudden light.
Chanyeol’s uniform is unbuttoned, revealing an undershirt that is horrible at being an undershirt as it leaves very little to the imagination as sweat makes the thin fabric cling to Chanyeol’s skin, outlining the muscles of his torso.
You swallow thickly as you try your best to sound unconcerned. “Can you get your tits out of my face? We get it, you work out. Now, move. I’m trying to get some sun here.”
“You didn’t answer my question. What are you doing here? Isn’t it third period?”
“What are you doing here?” You turn the tables around. It’s hilarious how he’s telling you that you’re supposed to be in class while him and his friends are playing basketball at possibly the ugliest court in the entire world when they know full well that it’s third period.
Chanyeol sighs, wiping the sweat on his forehead with the back of his hand. “Look, you’re class president. Mr. Lee’s gonna notice that you’re gone.”
“Who do you think sent me?” He freezes as soon as you say that, his eyes growing so wide you’re convinced they’re going to pop out of this head any second now. He almost runs to his other delinquent friends when you yank him back and try not to die of laughter. “I’m joking, Chanyeol.”
“What?”
“Mr. Lee didn’t send me. He didn’t even go to class today. It’s free cut.”
Chanyeol still doesn’t look convinced, narrowing his eyes at you. “You’re serious?” You nod sincerely. “If you’re messing with me I’m gonna stick gum on your desk after the detention I get for cutting class.”
“That’s a disgusting threat. Lame, but disgusting.”
“You know you’re still holding my wrist, right?”
Your eyes travel down your hand clasped around his wrist, immediately letting it go when you realize that Chanyeol’s right. You pray that you don’t look as red as you feel right now.
Chanyeol chuckles for reasons you have no interest in finding out and sits next to you on one of the stone benches that surround the old basketball court. The place is older than any of you were; it’s been here since before your brother graduated, and even that was eight years ago.
It’s been bugging you for a while now why school administrators won’t just destroy the court and turn it into something else useful, maybe a football field or something, since the court only takes up a small portion of the field at the heart of campus.
Sehun argued before that maybe it has sentimental value to the students, which is why the administration never so much considered removing the basketball court, but you doubt that. What kind of memories would be tied to this place aside from memories of teenage boys doing stupid-looking drives to the hoop and being horrible at ball handling?
“You play?” Chanyeol asks, breaking your train of thought.
“Are you inviting me to play or are you just asking?”
Chanyeol chuckles and softly shakes his head. Lines form beside his eyes when he laughs, you’ve noticed. It’s cute; it means he smiles so much. “I’m just asking, but I’m not assuming that you can’t play. I mean, girls can be good at basketball too.”
“Congratulations on not being sexist,” you comment, which makes Chanyeol laugh. You rest your palms on the space beside either of your hips, and your pinkie briefly grazes Chanyeol’s before you adjust it slightly away. You try to ignore the odd spark that you felt when your skin brushed against him. “I play a different kind of game,” you say.
“If I didn’t know that you played volleyball, I would’ve thought that was another way of saying you’re a serial killer or something.”
“Yeah,” you say, shutting your eyes in laughter. “But I know how basketball works. My dad’s a huge Gin Kings fan, and my mom used to play back in her day. They kinda rubbed off on me.”
“That’s cool,” Chanyeol nods, but he doesn’t seem entirely convinced.
“Perhaps you’re still a bit sexist, after all,” you raise your brows at him. “I understand, though. Sophomore boys have the mental capacity of a goldfish. Boys in general, actually. Wait, that might be a little insulting to goldfish as a species.”
Chanyeol raises his hands in front of him, gesturing that he doesn’t mean any offense. “I just said that it’s cool. What’s sexist about that?”
“You don’t seem to be buying it.”
“Well…”
You raise an eyebrow at him. “Quiz me, then,” you challenge.
And so you spend the afternoon sitting beside Chanyeol, talking about what constitutes a flagrant foul and who are currently in the Gin Kings’ roster and whatnot with the cold November breeze stinging your cheeks and turning your skin pink. The conversation goes from basketball to all sorts of things, and you realize that Chanyeol is more than just the goofy kid in class who also happens to be your seatmate.
The two of you stay even when Baekhyun and Jongdae and the other guys have finished playing, and the next thing you know, you begin to spend every afternoon with Chanyeol on the very same bench, talking about anything that can be talked about.
Most of the time you still talk about basketball, but somewhere in between you’ve learned about each other’s first loves, each other’s pet peeves, each other’s favorite horror movies. When your pinkies brush against each other, you don’t feel the need to move it away anymore, letting the spark from the contact linger in the air like a question that doesn’t need to be answered out loud.
Well, maybe not yet.
Sehun was right—this old basketball court did have sentimental value to the students. You just didn’t have any memories tied to it… until Chanyeol.
  Present Day
Baekhyun returns a few minutes later with another familiar face, the last person to complete their golden trio when they were in high school.
Kim Jongdae smiles from ear to ear as he makes his way to the table where you and Chanyeol are sitting, and he doesn’t need to speak for you to know what he’s thinking about. Jongdae’s playfulness is more subtle than Baekhyun’s, but it’s there. If anything, the fact that he’s not upfront about his teasing is what makes it more effective.
“Yeol, long time no see,” Jongdae greets Chanyeol first and then nods at you. “It feels so weird being with all of you right now… It’s like I’ve time-traveled to ten years ago. What have you all been up to since high school?”
That’s the question of the night, isn’t it?
Baekhyun’s the only one you know a lot about. He and Sehun went to the same college, and their campus was practically just a stone’s throw away from yours, so that would naturally mean that you saw him around.
On the contrary, Jongdae’s been difficult to keep track of. For some weird reason, he doesn’t have any social media accounts, so you don’t know anything about him other than the fact that he went to State U. You wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already married or something without you knowing. It’s nothing personal, really—Jongdae was a good friend in high school, but some friends inevitably lose in touch with each other as they grow older and, in turn, busier. That’s just how life is.
“Hey, Dae,” you call him, “What happened to you after high school? I know about State U, but that’s about the extent of my post-high school knowledge about you.”
Baekhyun scoffs, rolling his eyes at Jongdae. “You wouldn’t believe how difficult it was to get a hold of this guy when he entered that damn university.” Jongdae starts to protest, but Baekhyun’s mouth overpowers him. “Whenever we would ask him to go out, he would say he was busy with school and shit. I mean, I get it, he’s always been like that ever since, but to see your best friend only, like, once every three months? I have to admit, I was offended.”
“It’s not like that, Baek—”
Chanyeol butts in even before Jongdae could finish defending himself, “And on the days he would agree to go out with us, he was always the first to go home,” he laughs. “Must’ve been boring, not having much of a life outside of school.”
Jongdae opens his mouth to say something again, but Baekhyun cuts him off again. “At least he graduated with Latin honors, didn’t he? Graduated with a 3.9, practically unheard of. Was it worth it, though? Trading your friends for the highest damn GPA of all time?”
At this point all Jongdae could do is sigh. “Yes, Baekhyun, it was worth it. Having good credentials on my résumé is better than having you two assholes as friends.”
You laugh at the trio’s bickering, realizing that you’ve missed witnessing this in person. It’s like the years are melting away from everyone’s faces—as if you aren’t adults in your mid to late twenties but stupid teenagers teasing each other. It’s refreshing, you must admit, how everything about this conversation feels natural, even with Chanyeol in the mix.
“What are you laughing at?” Jongdae suddenly turns his attention to you in the midst of his petty squabble with Baekhyun and Chanyeol. “You weren’t easy to get in touch with either, you know. I have no idea what happened to you after you and Chanyeol bro—”
The sound of silverware clinking against glass shushes the reception before Jongdae could finish his sentence and you couldn’t be any more thankful for it. Kyungsoo’s the one making the sound as he stands up from the bride and groom’s table, thanking everyone for being present in what could possibly be the most important day of their lives.
As you clap for Kyungsoo’s speech, you feel a pair of eyes lingering on you. Chanyeol. The smile he was sporting just seconds ago is now gone, an unreadable expression now replacing it on his lips. At first, he seems to be just looking at you, but you soon realize that his eyes are trained on your neck.
Slowly, his clapping comes to a stop and his eyes flicker to yours. You know what he was just looking at.
“And now I would like to call on one of my closest friends. He’s one of the few people that made college and life in general bearable. I don’t know where I would be without him,” Kyungsoo announces from the high table. “He arrived late, but he told me that he would make up for it by singing a song to me and my wife. Park Chanyeol, come on up here.”
The crowd’s applause snaps Chanyeol back into reality, and he tears his eyes away from the object around your neck. He makes his way onto the small stage just beside the bride and groom’s table and sits on the stool perched on the platform. A staff brings him a guitar.
He clears his throat before speaking into the mic, “Good evening, everyone. I… I haven’t played or sung this song for quite some time now, so please bear with me if I kinda suck.” Soft laughter fills the gazebo. “Kyungsoo practically held me at gunpoint just so I would sing this song, but I’m more than happy to sing this in front of all of you for our newly-weds. Let’s give them a big hand!”
When the claps slowly dies down, Chanyeol starts strumming on the guitar. All it takes is the first few chords for your heart to stop beating and for your mind to travel back to when you first heard Chanyeol sing this song.
  December 2005
Chanyeol’s room is not at all what you initially expected. You expected it to be like your brother’s: messy and chaotic, with all sorts of stuff scattered everywhere, practically a pig-sty rather than a bedroom. Instead, you find yourself gaping at Chnayeol’s spotless room; everything is arranged neatly, from his bed to his desk. Hell, your room’s even messier than his.
“Are you sure this is your room?” You ask as you enter. “This is not how a sixteen year old boy’s room should look like.”
Chanyeol laughs as he sets his backpack on his desk chair. “Not all boys are disgusting, you know. There are boys who like to keep their room clean. Exhibit A,” he says, pointing to himself.
“He has to keep his room clean or else his sister’s gonna smack him in the head,” Baekhyun chides from behind you, carrying a large bag of barbecue-flavored potato chips in one hand and a pack of root beer in the other. “It’s not like he’s keeping it clean because he actually wants to.”
Heeyeon snorts as she takes a seat on a bean bag in the corner of the room. Baekhyun tosses her the bag of chips and she catches it without fault, ripping the bag open and popping chips into her mouth. You highly doubt that the rest of you will be left with some of it to munch on while working on your group paper.
“This is why no one likes you, Baek,” Chanyeol says. “You talk too much.”
“We like him,” Heeyeon counters, and you nod to prove her point. “But I agree with the last part.”
Baekhyun shouts triumphantly, “Ha! See? Everyone loves Byun Baekhyun.”
“Yeah, everyone but Taeyeon.”
You laugh at Chanyeol’s comment while Heeyeon chokes on the potato chips she’s chewing, and the look of genuine hurt on Baekhyun’s face makes everything a hundred times funnier. Baekhyun doesn’t say anything after that, and Chanyeol’s lips curl into a smug smile, knowing that he won this round.
“Whatever,” Baekhyun says petulantly as he sets the pack of root beer onto Chanyeol’s bed. “Door open or closed?”
Chanyeol replies, “Closed. Yoora almost fainted when I told her that two girls were spending the night here. She’d definitely kill me if she sees my door closed. You’d have to search the river for my body.”
Baekhyun shrugs and then slumps on the floor beside Heeyeon. When he brings out his PSP from his bag, you know he’ll be of no help tonight. Sometimes you still ask yourself why you’re still friends with him.
You curiously look around Chanyeol’s room and try to find the few missing puzzle pieces about him, knowing that there’s no place better to search than the room where spends most of his time and possibly grew up in.
There’s a small shelf with glass covers that houses action figures of all kinds and sizes—you recognize some from animes, some from comics, and some you don’t recognize at all. Nerd. On a part of the wall just above his study desk, the Jolly Roger of the Straw Hat Pirates from One Piece hangs proudly. Super nerd.
You giggle when you catch sight of Rilakkuma plushies on the far side of his bed, wondering how you missed them when you first entered his room. Cute. Your eyes shift to his bedside table, where a baby picture of him squatting on the ground is framed. He was a chubby kid, you notice. He’s a lot thinner now, but his ears still stick out now just as they do in the picture. Super cute.
“Snooping around someone else’s room is rude. You know that, right?”
“I’m not snooping,” you say defensively. “I was just… looking around.”
Chanyeol flops onto his bed unceremoniously. His plushies almost falls to the floor. Poor Rilakkumas. “Well, I consider that snooping. Stop looking at my stuff and judging me.”
“I’m not judging,” you laugh as you sit down on the other side of the bed. You grab your laptop from your backpack and start it up before everyone else forgets why you’re all here in Chanyeol’s house in the first place. “I just didn’t know you were a nerd. And that you’re into stuffed animals. You truly learn something new everyday.”
“You say you’re not judging but your words are so… judgy.”
“Is that a word?”
Baekhyun yawns loudly, interrupting the conversation. “If the two of you are done flirting now, can you pass me a root beer? And yes, judgy is a word.”
The atmosphere changes after that. Chanyeol wordlessly hands Baekhyun a can, his neck and ears visibly flushing redder and redder. You know that this happens to him when he’s embarrassed, anxious, or both. Is he flustered because of what Baekhyun said?
The minutes that follow are spent in awkward silence with only the sound of keyboards clicking and Baekhyun’s tapping on his game console filling the air. You steal a quick glance at Chanyeol, who’s also typing away on his laptop. He’s not flushed anymore, but his body language is still so stiff, like he’s extra cautious about his actions.
“Baek, do you have any plans to help out or is our group paper disturbing you in your very important Tekken game?” Chanyeol sarcastically asks as he suddenly jerks his head in your direction, making you jump in your seat and quickly turn your eyes away from him.
Baekhyun doesn’t take his thumbs or eyes off his game. A few overly-enthusiastic smashes on the buttons later, he says, “Yeah, yeah. What can I do?”
“You can stop playing with that damn thing, for a start,” you say. “We need more references. Try T&F and Sage and see what you can find. And wake Heeyeon up.”
“Yes ma’am,” Baekhyun replies and finally puts away his game console. He shakes Heeyeon awake from her short-lived nap on Chanyeol’s bean bag, and the two of them begin to work on your group paper that they should have been helping with in the first place.
At around 11 p.m., the only thing left to do with the paper is to proofread it, and proofreading is assigned to you. You let the others do whatever they want for the rest of the night: Heeyeon falls asleep in a blink of an eye, Baekhyun returns to his game but follows Heeyeon’s steps not long after, and Chanyeol is softly playing his guitar.
“You’re quiet,” Chanyeol says when he notices you looking at him.
You shrug. “I’m always quiet when I’m busy doing something.”
Chanyeol doesn’t take his eyes and fingers off of the guitar. You know that he’s an amazing guitarist, but right now he’s playing sloppily, just barely making an effort to actually hold the chords down on the guitar’s neck. You recognize the tune, though.
“No you aren’t,” he says after a while. His eyes flicker to yours briefly, and the look in them tells you that something’s bothering him. “You talk from time to time even when you’re busy with something, but you’ve been quiet for most of the night. It feels weird.”
“Well…” You begin to say, scratching at the back of your neck while you choose your words. “Well, you’ve been quiet for most of the night, too,” you counter. Defense is the best offense.
Chanyeol sighs and stops strumming his guitar for a second. “I was just thinking… about… you know, what Baekhyun said earlier.”
Your heart catches fire at that, but you try your best to keep a straight face and look indifferent. “Which one? Baekhyun says a lot of things. It’s hard to keep track of what comes out of his mouth.”
Chanyeol looks over your shoulder to where Baekhyun and Heeyeon are sleeping. You and Heeyeon are supposed to take the bed, but since she’s already comfortable on the bean bag, perhaps it’s not a good idea to wake her. She gets really cranky when her sleep gets interrupted.
Meanwhile, Baekhyun is drooling on Chanyeol’s carpet. He’s lying stomach-down on the floor without even bothering to set up the comforters Chanyeol prepared for the two of them.
“Say what you want to say,” you tell Chanyeol when you realize that he’s checking whether Baekhyun and Heeyeon are awake. “Those two aren’t gonna wake up any time soon. They’re sleeping like logs. Their snores are even louder than your guitar.”
Chanyeol nods, but resumes softly playing his guitar for good measure. The tips of his ears are burning red, you notice, and his strumming becomes more and more careless by each second.
His Adam’s apple bobs up and down as he swallows thickly. “I know we haven’t known each other for a long time,” he begins shakily, “but I’ve been thinking…” He trails off again. “God, why is this so hard?”
“We’ve known each other for a while now, actually. Since freshman year,” you point out, chuckling. “What on earth are you talking about?”
“I knew that,” Chanyeol pouts. “What I mean is that we’ve only been, like, friends recently… A-and… Fuck,” he gives up. He reaches for something behind him, a small velvet jewelry box that looks so tiny compared to his large hands.
His fingers tremble, and when your hand brushes against him when you take the box away from him, his skin is cold.
You gingerly snap open the box, and a silver necklace rests inside. The charm glistens even in the dim lighting of Chanyeol’s room—a star embedded with small crystals. A warmth spreads across your chest and settles in the pit of your stomach. You softly trace the charm with the tip of your index finger as you wonder how something so small and simple could be so beautiful.
“I was supposed to give that to you on your birthday,” Chanyeol says. He’s still strumming away on his guitar. He continues, “But I didn’t know how to. I was overthinking the whole thing, like what should I say, what should I do. Should I act cool? What should I tell her? I was so scared.”
You smile, “It’s just a gift, Chanyeol.”
“But that’s the thing. It’s not just a gift. It’s not just a necklace.”
“Then what is it?”
Chanyeol exhales deeply and stops playing, setting the guitar on his lap. “I like you,” he blurts out. “As in, you know. That kind of like. Jesus, this is embarrassing. You’re gonna think that I’m crazy for liking you way too soon and now you’re gonna get mad and everything’s gonna be awkward and I’m gonna beat myself up for—”
“You’re rambling,” you say.
He covers his face with his palms and shakes his head. “I know, I know. I’m sorry. It’s okay if you hate me now or something but please—”
“I like you too,” you admit, cutting his rambling once again. “I thought it would be obvious by now.”
Chanyeol blinks rapidly. “What did you just say?”
Laughing, you shut down your laptop and place it back inside your backpack. “You have the biggest ears in this world, I think you heard me just fine,” you say. “Thank you for your late birthday present, Chanyeol. It’s beautiful. I’ll wear it everyday.”
You lay down on the bed and roll over to your side so that your back is now facing Chanyeol. You whisper good night, but really, you just don’t want him to see you smiling like a fool. You’re definitely not sleeping tonight.
But your consciousness drifts off eventually while Chanyeol plays on his guitar some more. The melody and his singing are barely audible by how soft he’s playing, but you recognize the song anyway.
“‘Cause it’s you and me And all of the people with nothing to do Nothing to lose And it’s you and me And all the other people And I don’t know why I can’t keep my eyes off of you…”
The last thing that you hear before sleep wins you over is Chanyeol giddily whispering, “She likes me too.”
  Present Day
Chanyeol doesn’t take his eyes off of you throughout the whole song.
Your stomach churns as he sings while looking directly at you, and no matter how many times you avert your gaze, his eyes are still locked on you when yours travel back to him. And because of that, you know that he knows what this song means to either of you, something that you thought he would’ve forgotten.
You slowly get up from your seat and quietly make your way out of the reception. Baekhyun asks what’s wrong with a worried tone, but you assure him that you just need fresh air. He lets you go after that, though his frown doesn’t leave his lips.
For some reason, the sea breeze is colder and harsher outside of the open pavillion. You shiver as a strong gust of wind blows by, crossing your arms across your chest and rubbing your palms against your skin in an attempt to feel warmer through the friction.
You look up at the night sky once you reach the smoking area a short walk away from the reception. The moon is bright and full as it hangs low in the heavens with a myriad of stars surrounding it. You can’t remember the last time you saw the night sky like this because the lights in the city drown everything else out.
It’s beautiful, but at the same time you can’t help but feel a pang in your chest because the twinkling stars remind you of the necklace Chanyeol gave you, the one that started everything, the one you’re wearing now, the one that Chanyeol saw before he went onstage and sang that damn song. It suddenly feels like a hundred tons on your neck.
You said you’d wear it everyday, and you kept your promise. You always keep your promises, no matter when and to whom you made them.
Perhaps you should’ve left it at home and wore something else just this once, but you always had a hard time breaking habits. The silver necklace has been part of your day-to-day life for nearly three years, and it’s never easy to let go of something that has been with you for that long. Just like how hard it was to let go of Chanyeol.
But wearing the necklace really is more out of habit than of sentimentality. Sure, for the first few years after the breakup it was more of the latter, but as time went by you realized that it has become muscle memory—something your body has gotten used to, that’s it.
Come to think of it, you never really associate it with Chanyeol anymore when you wear it. It is what it is: just something that was given to you as a gift. But the look on Chanyeol’s face when he saw it around your neck earlier changes everything; it brings back all the questions that are still yet to be given an answer for all these years. It brings back everything.
You fish for your cigarette pack in your clutch bag and light yourself a stick, letting all your frustrations out together with the smoke. Instantly, you feel somewhat warmer. Smoking is another habit—a terrible one, at that—that you also have a hard time breaking away from.
Footsteps fill the still air when you’re halfway through your first cigarette. You look to where the sound is coming from and see Baekhyun walking towards you, his hands inside his pockets.
“I don’t think cigarette smoke counts as fresh air,” he says.
You take a long drag before replying, blowing the smoke away from where Baekhyun is standing because you know he doesn’t like the smell even if he never says anything about it. “You see, Baek, when people say they need fresh air, they mean they want to be alone.”
“I know,” Baekhyun shrugs, kicking at the sand underneath his feet. “I also know that wasn’t what you meant. I think you need someone to talk to.”
“I don’t have anything to talk about with you.”
Baekhyun laughs, but it sounds different. Empty. “I wasn’t talking about myself,” he clarifies. He looks at you before looking upward at the sky, and you catch an odd sadness swimming in his eyes. “You should talk to Chanyeol.”
Your cigarette is almost burned out, just enough for one more puff. You inhale the remains and toss the butt at the receptacle once you’re finished. “We don’t have anything to talk about either,” you say, exhaling a cloud of smoke.
“That’s bullshit,” Baekhyun says, and you’re taken aback by his choice of words. “I think the two of you have plenty to talk about.”
The cold creeps back into your bones at Baekhyun’s last sentence, because you know deep in your heart that it’s true. You shiver, and Baekhyun must’ve seen it because he wordlessly takes off his coat and wraps it around your shoulders.
“I don’t know what to say to him,” you admit, wrapping the coat tighter around your body. “What happened between the two of us… That happened so long ago. I’m not sure if any of that matters anymore.”
“It matters,” Baekhyun assures. “I can see it in Chanyeol’s eyes. I think he has a lot to say, but he’s not sure how to get there and how to say it. Maybe he’s not sure either whether any of it is worth talking about anymore, but I don’t think he’d be staring at you while singing if none of it matters anymore to him.”
Your hands instinctively fly up to the charm hanging on your neck, your fingers brushing against the studded star.
Baekhyun’s eyes notice your movement. Smiling, he says, “I don’t know the story behind that necklace and that old ass song he was singing, but I’m pretty sure that it has something to do with the two of you. Both of you wouldn’t be so weird about it if it didn’t matter, so I think that’s a good enough sign that the two of you should talk it over.”
“I thought Chanyeol told you everything.”
“He did, for most things,” Baekhyun nods, “but he didn’t say much about your relationship, even after you broke up. I thought that was a pretty cool thing for him to do, keeping whatever happened between just the two of you. I think he didn’t want any of us to take sides, knowing that you’re friends with us too, so he said nothing.”
Tonight’s the first time you’ve heard about that. You always assumed Baekhyun and Jongdae knew what had happened since they’re Chanyeol’s closest friends. In your case, Sehun’s always the first to know everything.
But then again, Chanyeol has always been a very private person. He shows his emotions well, but he never talks about them outright.
“He really told you nothing? About us?”
Baekhyun shakes his head. “I didn’t even know it until months later,” he says. “I asked him about you, and all he said was that you weren’t together anymore. A few weeks later I saw him posting about some other girl online. I didn’t want to ask, but Jongdae brought it up while we were having coffee one time and Chanyeol told us about her.”
Your chest tightens because you remember the day you saw that post so vividly. You were eating lunch with Sehun when he suddenly froze while scrolling on his phone. Eyes wide, he silently handed you his phone and tears began to fall from your eyes the moment they landed on the photo of Chanyeol with his arms around a girl, captioned with nothing but a heart. Sehun had to take you home and skip the rest of his classes because you were so out of it. It was one of the worst days of your life.
“Why didn’t you want to ask more about it?”
Baekhyun answers without hesitation, “Because I knew that whatever Chanyeol says, I’ll be pissed about it. So I never asked how the two of you broke up, how he met Chaeyoung, all that.”
You reach for another cigarette from your pack. Hearing that name—Chaeyoung—still sends your stomach roiling, and it will probably stay that way forever.
“I thought you’d understand Chanyeol, no matter what he said,” you say after lighting the stick. A stray ember of the cigarette ash falls on your arm and scalds you before dying out as soon as it touches your skin. “He’s your best friend.”
“That’s true,” Baekhyun says. “But we don’t always agree with or understand our best friends, do we? Besides, I didn’t want to take sides either. But I have to admit, Chanyeol being with Chaeyoung in just a short time after the two of you broke didn’t look good at all. I bet Sehun hates him.”
“He did,” you say, nodding as you laugh. “For quite some time. When I moved on, I guess he did too.”
“Have you really moved on, though? Do you think Chanyeol has moved on?”
Before you could say anything, a tall figure emerges from the path where Baekhyun came from. You can recognize those ears anywhere.
“Am I… interrupting something?” He asks.
Baekhyun laughs, shaking his head. “Nope. She’s all yours. I’ll head back to the reception now. The two of you can continue catching up.”
“Baek, wait,” you call out as Baekhyun begins walking back to the pavillion. He stops in his tracks and turns around. “Your coat.”
“You can return that to me tomorrow morning,” he replies. “I have a feeling that you’re still gonna need that. Tonight’s gonna be a long night.”

a few writing tips from me to you bc writers should stick together so here goes:
when doing dialogue, make sure it reads fluid. what it means is don’t delete all tags and leave bare dialogue -- go ahead and write those actions in, make it colourful! but add it all in such a way that if you completely skip them during reading, the dialogue is not reliant on the actions following and still makes sense without them
if you have trouble with starting a fic, start in the middle of the story. no, not in the middle of your plot, but in the middle of what you would want to write at the beginning. wanted to write about the sun rising over the horizon and waking up in bed? start by saying how much your character looks forward to murdering the idiot in third row of the overloaded school bus who is screaming his lungs out at 7:30 in the morning! it will draw your readers in and keep them interested in seeing more! and once you have their attention, you can go back to the calm and quiet early morning that will be a nice contrast to your murderous intent ^u^)b
if your audience doesn’t speak the language, don’t insert it into the fic. (unless it’s for plot reasons) simply adding a “said in Japanese” tag is much easier and more comprehensible than adding a full sentence in kanji (or butchered romaji yikes) and a translation in the notes. nobody’s got time to look those up!
don’t treat your readers like kids who need to have every detail explained! sometimes it’s better to leave something unsaid and have people come to their own conclusions than tell them all there is to know of your world within a few paragraphs. mystery is a key to grabbing that sweet attention you’re aiming for!
HIT. THOSE. ENTERS. I’m not saying your paragraphs should be even in size, but never give your readers huge unformatted blocks of text. that’s such a turn off that I honestly just click out of those stories without reading them. format your writing to be most accessible.
“Please, don’t make me cringe,” she says. “Learn to format your dialogue properly.” (comma, small letter, period, capital letter -- to indicate new sentence after a tag, end of the previous one)
“I’m begging you.” She puts her hands together and lifts her face to the sky. “So help me God, I will shit bricks if I have to read one more fic where people just ignore common sense.” (period, capital letter, period, capital letter -- to indicate an action done between the sentences)
“There is nothing wrong with not knowing how to do this right,” she explains patiently, “but there is much wrong with not wanting to learn. Don’t be one of those.” (comma, small letter, comma, small letter -- to indicate an action or tag inserted into the same (1) sentence)
if you find yourself struggling to make the words go -- plot. don’t think of the exact wording, don’t even write if it’s too hard. you don’t have to. what you might want to do to still feel productive is plot out your scene. or the next one. or one seven chapters later. you don’t need to actively write to make your story get written faster!
and the last one in caps bc it’s the most important HAVE FUN WITH IT!!! if you’re not having fun with the story you’re trying to tell, don’t force it out. if you don’t like the plot you’re going for, try something else. if you don’t want to write at all, it won’t ever be good enough to make you happy. and most importantly: readers aren’t idiots, they can feel if you’re not enjoying it! and how can anyone like what you make if you don’t like it yourself?
LOVE YOUR CRAFT AND KEEP ON CREATING, YOU’RE AMAZING ❤️

Artificial Intelligence Philosophy – AI and Machine Learning
A student will gain an awareness, and discover to judge and also to produce arguments for and against major philosophical problems concerning AI, robotics as well as their relations to human cognition and behavior. A different type of effort at fixing AIs ethics issue is the proliferation of crowdsourced ethics projects, which have the commendable objective of a far more democratic method of science.
To illustrate DJ Patils Code of Ethics for Data Science, which invites the information-science community to lead ideas but doesn't develop in the decades of labor already made by philosophers, historians and sociologists of science. Then there's MITs Moral Machine project, which asks the general public to election on questions for example whether a self-driving vehicle with brake failure must go beyond five destitute people instead of one female physician.
Philosophers call these trolley problems and also have printed a large number of books and papers around the subject in the last half-century. Evaluating the views of professional AI philosophers with individuals of everyone could be eye-opening, as experimental philosophy has frequently proven, but merely ignoring professionals and going for an election rather is irresponsible. We live at a time in which the fundamental knowledge of what it really way to be human is altering. Social networking platforms still redefine our feeling of place and time.
We grapple using these changes once we attempt to define ourselves and our social relationships within an era of constant connectivity. A couple of decades ago, if a person claimed to possess supporters you’d assume they were beginning a cult. Now it’s an expression that 12 year olds use once they discuss Instagram and Twitter. Customers aren't the only ones who're increasingly more demanding, employees too. They would like to choose their professional future as well as their development.
That's the reason new talent management methodologies have started to emerge, as we will have below. Many counter-arguments happen to be made against unpredicted intelligence explosions, focused largely on technical limitations and logic. For instance, sci-fi author Ramez Naam stated within an essay for H+ magazine that a super intelligent mind would want some time and sources to invent humanity-destroying technologies it would need to have fun playing the human economy to acquire what it really needed (for instance, building faster chips requires not only new designs but complicated and costly nick fabrication foundries to construct them.)The determination that the system, just like an atom of polonium218, is or isn't a closed system, obviously, poses difficult epistemic problems, that are compounded within the situation of people, precisely since they're vastly more complicated causal systems.
Furthermore, probabilistic systems need to be distinguished from (what exactly are known as) chaotic systems, that are deterministic systems with acute sensitivity to initial conditions, in which the smallest switch to individuals conditions can result in formerly unpredicted effects. A small improvement in thousands and thousands of lines of code controlling an area probe, for instance, composed of the appearance of just one wrong character, just one misplaced comma, caused Mariner 1, the very first US interplanetary spacecraft, to veer off target after which need to be destroyed. A minimum of some versions of artificial intelligence are attempts not just to model human intelligence, but to create computers and robots that exhibit it: which have ideas, use language, as well as have freedom.  Performs this seem sensible?  What can it show us about human thinking and awareness?  Join John and Ken because they identify the philosophical issues elevated by artificial intelligence. However the nerd-sighted geniuses in our day result in the same mistake. Should you ask a coder what ought to be done to make certain AI does no evil, you are prone to get 1 of 2 solutions, neither being reassuring. Answer No. 1: It is not my problem. I simply construct it, as exemplified lately with a Harvard computer researcher who stated, I’m just an engineer when requested the way a predictive policing tool he developed might be misused. Answer No. 2: Believe me. I’m smart enough to have it right. AI researchers really are a smart bunch, but there is a terrible history of staying away from ethical blunders.
A few of the better-known goof-ups include Google images tagging black people as gorillas, chat bots that become Nazis and racist soap dispensers. The effects can be more serious when biased algorithms are responsible for deciding who ought to be approved for any financial loan, who to employ or admit to college or if to kill a suspect inside a police chase. I can tell how that's already happening. We have pretty efficient satnav systems, which generally take us right places.
Those who have developed with this type of system have grown to be incredibly dependent on navigation by machine. In the event that begins to fail at any time, Id imagine some those who have lately passed their test as motorists would a very find it difficult to use road signs, or memorized routes, or perhaps a conventional map as a means of having in one spot to another.  Another recent article within the New You are able to Occasions claimed that academics happen to be asleep in the wheel, departing policy makers who're battling to learn how to regulate AI subject to industry lobbyists.
The content trigger a Twitter storm of replies from philosophers, historians and sociologists of science, angry their decades of underfunded jobs are again being overlooked and erased. Such as the Who’s lower in Whoville, they cried in fear, we’re here! We're here! We're here! We're here!
If policy makers and funding sources listen carefully to individuals’ voices, there are answers on offer. The content concludes that people urgently require an academic institute centered on algorithmic accountability. On Twitter, the articles author, Cathy ONeil, was adamant, there must be several more tenure lines dedicated to it. Individuals both seem like solid ideas. Objection II: A minimum of it might be figured that since current computers (objective evidence suggests) do lack feelings until Data 2.  Does arrive (when) we're titled, given computers' insufficient feelings, to deny the low-level and piecemeal high-level intelligent behavior of computers bespeak genuine subjectivity or intelligence. AI lent many concepts without delivering thanks, like ontology, theory of mind, agent based architecture, object oriented design, archetypes and many more. Algorithms tracking our each step and key stroke expose us to dangers more dangerous than impulsively buying anti-wrinkle cream. More and more polarized and radicalized political movements, leaked health data and also the manipulation of elections using harvested Facebook profiles are some of the documented connection between the mass deployments of AI. Something as apparently innocent as discussing your jogging routes online can reveal military secrets.
These cases are simply the beginning. Even our beloved Canadian Tire cash is being repurposed like a surveillance tool for any machine-learning team. Singer didn't think about a. I. s, but his argument shows that the escalator of reason leads societies to greater benevolence no matter species origin. A. I. s will need to strike the escalator of reason must have, simply because they will have to bargain for goods inside a human-dominated economy and they'll face human potential to deal with inappropriate behavior.
The philosopher John Smart argues, if morality and immunity are developmental processes, when they arise inevitably in most intelligent collectives as a kind of positive-sum game, they have to also grow in pressure and extent as each civilizations computational capacity grows.

Default verse / Human / 23 years old
The idol currently works with the company named ᴠᴏᴄᴀʟᴏɪᴅ industries.
Despite being one of the oldest in the company, he’s unexpectedly young — people assume he is old due Kaito being quite a popular name yet that is the opposite case upon meeting him and realizing that he has been around since he is sixteen and only has grown in height, almost as if he hadn’t aged at all.
The bluenette is also fairly popular within co-workers due his kind nature, some call him older brother too which can make him flustered. However, not much is actually known about his private life except that prior ‘the no love rule’, he was dating a fellow idol though it seems to have ended abruptly. Nothing was known and, to this day, if inquired about that past relationship, he will flinch and tense up, quick to change the topic though there’s a visible pain in his visage.
Thanks to his cousin frequently visiting him, Kaito can avoid thinking too much about his past and the pain it brings.
「 V ❥ 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 ; Kaito / 」
Rather than being a mere program that can be used to sing a variety of themes and songs, languages included. He is an android idol that blends perfectly in the human world, in fact, not many know he is actually not human — the company went as far as to design organs that act like human’s.
「 V ❥ 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫 ; Kaito / 」
Interactions remain inside an electronic device  ( say phone, desktop, laptop…).  Kaito is known to often remind his master about messages from other people that had been ignored for more than three hours and is usually cleaning the mess of the desktop, cleaning the trashbin as well.
「 V ⓞ 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙚 ; Kaito / ᵗʰᵉ ᵗᵉᵃʳˢ ᶜᵒᵐᵉ ᵖᵒᵘʳⁱⁿᵍ ᵒᵘᵗ 」
Based in the manga 23:45 mixed with the song ‘Donut Hole’ by GUMI.
The hole in the middle of  donut counts as a kind of existence, but it’s also a kind of emptiness. The reason why I believe that the hole, clearly devoid of matter, is a kind of ‘existence’ is because for other people the memories of that ‘emptiness’ probably exists. Just as other people believe that a donut can only have a hole because the outside circle of its dough exists the things that lack are also because someone’s memories are stored here and can be understood.
Shion Kaito, 21 years idol at the time, suffered an accident that left him in a comma for two years — though when he woke up, all he could think about was to get better as soon as possible without a clue on why. Initially, he thought this was caused by his motivation to tell his fans that he was alright but it didn’t feel...right.    In his dreams, there was always a faceless person smiling at him before it turned its back to him as Kaito hopelessly extended his hand in a pitiable attempt to reach for them. Waking up confused, the blue-haired can only believe that it’s truth that one’s soul might leave its body during such state and explored around due not knowing who he is to begin with or how did he end in such state, maybe he came a cross someone who could see him and helped him recall his memories to return to his body?

Shion Kaito is a young man from a farmer family background, however against all odds he decided to become a potion maker, to cultivate his own medicinal herbs and sell his effective and advanced products in a small shop he built through sweat and blood which led him to be disowned by his family due disrespecting the tradition.

Although he is glad that Ezarel, his boss and leader of the Garde Absynthe  (  finesse fighter and herbal knowledge; excelling in making potions and strategy. Alchemists )  taught him how to create a potion that allows him to have human legs; the bluenette has a necklace with a small bottle with said potion since he ought to drink it everyday so the effect lasts.
Plus,  because he is constantly in his human appearance, his body has a couple of blue scales across his body; and when it comes to a companion, Kaito actually owns a Galorze which is a rare familier to begin with. How he caught it?  Water creatures actually possess an hability called  Devil’s whisper  which can make them manipulate others through their melodic voice alone and get whatever they want.

Mida Rana was the new substitute teacher that...never  arrived. There wasn’t an actual explanation from her side except that she coudn’t, by any means, teach within the Akademi High institution but that she  would  send someone else without adding further in case they were being spied on through the call.    Truth be told, those words were enough to freak out the director who was already a tired old man — he had been once a bright man looking forward to help students graduate without issue but since the events of Ryoba, that spark was soon to extinguish and his name was highly damaged.    Imagine the surprise of everyone when the substitute teacher was a man whose hair was dyed blue and was a half  ( quarter but, details ); the female students were thrilled whereas the male ones were curious but disappointed.    But regardless of his kind smile and big brother nature, Kaito was uncomfortable because Mida had warned him about a student in particular that wasn’t what they pretended to be and if he wanted to help everyone, he had five days to discover who.

IDA: A Study in Gold, Chapter 2-1
After a brief stint exploring the concept of editing with my chapter one analysis, I’m returning to continue my analysis of A Study in Gold in its second chapter. With this return are a couple of changes to the structure of my posts.
First is what you are reading right now: some opening statements and comments addressing “In-Depth Analysis” itself, which previously would have be separated off into a post with the “meta” tag. Now that I’ve established an intent of compiling my analysis and fixing them up, I feel more free to have this sort of dated information that I can later cut out.
Second is that at the end of each paragraph (or post, if I maintain the paragraph per post format) I want to pull back and take a look at the paragraph as a whole. I offhandedly did this for about half of my posts for chapter one, and in compiling and editing it, I found that I liked when the paragraphs were set apart this way. When I didn’t offer any closing thoughts, it became difficult to differentiate between paragraphs and it all just blended together.
One last thing before getting into analysis-proper: in my compiling, I noticed that I had mentioned something about reviewing the chapter as a whole. At the time it was to dive into what made me so invested into the narrator’s life, but there’s also a general call to explore what the chapter has to say about “change.” At the moment, I’m a bit tired of exploring my own analysis of chapter one, but I do generally like the idea of pulling back for chapter reviews. I may even return to that idea before I even finish chapter two.
Anyway, onto chapter two! Starting with what looks to be a quite the long paragraph...
In short order, I had made the necessary arrangements to take up a position as a teaching fellow at St. Assisi's, although due to the long delay between when Dr. Boargelat's letter was posted and when I received it, I would have to wait nearly three months for the next semester to begin before I could take up my newfound duties as an educator.
And this paragraph starts off with a very long sentence. It’s to the point that it might actually be a run-on sentence? At the least, I don’t think the simple comma after “St. Assisi’s” is appropriate punctuation; the easiest correction would be to use a semicolon instead.
The caveat here is that this could be some sort of dated grammar that’s accurate to the period, but given my ignorance of that sort of topic, I could say this about any mistake I find in the future. Regardless, I’d prefer the story to stick to modern rules of grammar: there hadn’t been significant indication in chapter one that the writing itself would explore archaic forms of grammar, so starting now is off-putting.
Anyway, from now I’ll pretend that the punctuation is fixed with a semicolon.
There are two distinct thoughts being expressed here (which is why a mere comma isn’t appropriate to separate them), and something notable is how the length of each thought corresponds to what they actually describe. “In short order” is followed by a brief statement about our narrator having made arrangements. In kind, “due to the long delay” is followed by a thought that more than doubles the length of the previous.
Chapter one has also set a precedent for skipping through time, taking a single chapter to describe a many months-long process of recovery. An important distinction though is that we’re learning about this “three month wait” in the first sentence of this chapter, so this time-span is much less likely to be brushed aside and is instead more important to the story as a whole. (Of course, with my foreknowledge of the story, I can say this with confidence.)
The prudent course of action would have been to delay my departure to the city until nearer to when my contract began and ensure that I had adequate lodgings lined up, but I found myself so filled with excitement that I could not bear any further wait.
Again, we have a correlation between time and the amount of words devoted to describing the span. Describing the why and how of the prudence of a delay, in itself creates a delay before the reader learns what Judith actually did. Once we learn that she opted not to wait, the sentence has already ended.
Chapter one had also provided hints that prepare us for this action. We’d seen that she was disappointed to sleep through simply getting a sight of Zootopia, and we more deeply explored how dissatisfied she is with life in the Burrows.
Despite everything, if there’s one thing that hasn’t changed about Judith since her childhood, it’s how much she doesn’t want to live at home.
I would take the time available to me as a holiday, I decided, and live out of a hotel as I got to know Zootopia.
Given how chapter one gave me the impression that Judith’s idea of Zootopia is akin to a sort of mythical, fantasy place, her treating this as a holiday made me think of a child going to Disneyland.
The brief clause of “I decided” is interesting to me. It’s self-evident that this is her own decision, but still chose to emphasize it. Given the context, it’s here in opposition to “the prudent course of action” of waiting before moving to Zootopia: she’s made her decision, and that in and of itself is reason enough.
There are two slightly different ways to interpret this though: either she feels a need to convince herself, or she feels a need to justify herself. I’m thinking the latter, since she really wants to spend time in Zootopia, but she needs to justify herself against her military experience. From this, we might be able to infer that our protagonist hasn’t historically done much for her own benefit; she isn’t used to “treating herself.” She’s probably not used to taking vacations, and maybe there is also an element of needing to convince herself to go.
My parents were somewhat disappointed to learn of my pending departure, having grown used to my presence back on the farm and despairing of what could happen in the city.
There’s nothing surprising about this detail regarding her parents. We’ve seen that the Hopps parents are attentive and caring, so their disappointment at Judith leaving is natural. While worrying about their child’s safety is also in line with their established characters, it also makes me recall the concern their counterparts had in the movie. In the context of this story though, they probably can’t push the issue in the same way: their daughter has already had a whole career in the military, which was probably far more dangerous.
Although I love and cherish my parents deeply, I confess that I have always found it easier to do so from a distance.
Judith “confessing” this information implies that preferring this distance is somewhat embarrassing, and highlights how family-oriented bunny culture is. There’s some shame in being away from family.
Since this is only being revealed subtly through word choice, I also get an impression that this shame is ingrained subconsciously, and under normal circumstances, the reader is meant to understand this subconsciously. (I’m not sure where I’m going with this point really, but here it is.)
This thought of mine, while lacking the proper filial piety, was only reinforced at the Bunny Burrows train station when my parents and an assortment of my siblings and their kits came to see me off.
Based on context, my first inclination is to think that the “reinforced thought” is that our narrator loves and cherishes her parents deeply, and I do think this is intent. After really looking at these sentences though, the main thought of the previous sentence is that “it [is] easier to [love and cherish my parents] from a distance.” So the reading here could very well be that Judith would prefer that the family that came to see her off were elsewhere, at a distance.
I suppose if the previous sentence were really being reinforced, then both parts would be. I can imagine that she appreciates the fact that her family is seeing her off, but they are doing and/or saying some things that are bothering her. It’s just that within this paragraph, it really does leave it all up to the imagination. The scene may very well be fleshed out in the next paragraph, but the introduction of it has no detail.
Though, the focus here really is on Judith’s feelings, so any specific details about the scene would detract from that. Those very feelings are quite mixed and complicated, so the vagueness of the scene that represents those feelings seems more appropriate now that I’ve thought about it.
We also have mention of “proper filial piety” which is quite a way to express how important family is in bunny culture. “Piety” is religious, so for bunnies, the family is something to be revered and worshiped. This lack of piety is also another hint that Judith is probably atheist, or at least otherwise nonreligious.
This paragraph pulls a doubled-duty of setting up what’s coming up next - a spontaneous adventure into Zootopia - while properly closing out the previous chapter.
I could easily see this paragraph being split in two though. The first three sentences are wholly focused on the move to Zootopia, and the latter sentences are about Judith’s family. Looking again at the fourth sentence, it really does seem like the start of a new paragraph to me.
Mashing all of these sentences into one big paragraph does contribute to a sense of busyness though. There’s a lot going on in this paragraph, which correlates nicely with how busy our protagonist must be with the move.
Still, I think there could have been a smoother flow of ideas by starting the fourth sentence with the Hopps parents being worried about what could happen in the city. Though, it’s precisely that worry that transitions into why Judith prefers to love her parents from afar, so she doesn’t have to constantly deal with their worrying, so it just ruins the flow elsewhere. Really, the most elegant solution to the flow of ideas here is to split the paragraph.
If the intent was to really generate a sense of busyness by mixing these topics, it may have been better to really commit to mixing them. I’m not sure how that would work  (I can only imagine it being a mess), but the topics just seem too disparate as it is.
Speaking of the flow of ideas, while I described the scene as being vague when going sentence-by-sentence, by reading the paragraph as a whole I can better see the logic of the latter half. The Hopps parents worry a lot, so Judith prefers to love them from a distance, and they are likely still expressing their worry during the send-off, reinforcing her preference.

Kotlin From Scratch: More Fun With Functions
Kotlin is a modern programming language that compiles to Java bytecode. It is free and open source, and promises to make coding for Android even more fun.
In the previous article, you learned about packages and basic functions in Kotlin. Functions are at the heart of Kotlin, so in this post we'll look more closely at them. We'll be exploring the following kinds of functions in Kotlin:
top-level functions
lambda expressions or function literals
anonymous functions
local or nested functions
infix functions
member functions
You'll be amazed at all the cool things you can do with functions in Kotlin!
1. Top-Level Functions
Top-level functions are functions inside a Kotlin package that are defined outside of any class, object, or interface. This means that they are functions you call directly, without the need to create any object or call any class.
If you're a Java coder, you know that we typically create utility static methods inside helper classes. These helper classes don't really do anything—they don't have any state or instance methods, and they just act as a container for the static methods. A typical example is the Collections class in the java.util package and its static methods.
Top-level functions in Kotlin can be used as a replacement for the static utility methods inside helper classes we code in Java. Let's look at how to define a top-level function in Kotlin.
package com.chikekotlin.projectx.utils fun checkUserStatus(): String { return "online" }
In the code above, we defined a package com.chikekotlin.projectx.utils inside a file called UserUtils.kt and also defined a top-level utility function called checkUserStatus() inside this same package and file. For brevity's sake, this very simple function returns the string "online".
The next thing we'll do is to use this utility function in another package or file.
package com.chikekotlin.projectx.users import com.chikekotlin.projectx.utils.checkUserStatus if (checkUserStatus() == "online") { // do something }
In the preceding code, we imported the function into another package and then executed it! As you can see, we don't have to create an object or reference a class to call this function.
Java Interoperability
Given that Java doesn't support top-level functions, the Kotlin compiler behind the scenes will create a Java class, and the individual top-level functions will be converted to static methods. In our own case, the Java class generated was UserUtilsKt with a static method checkUserStatus().
/* Java */ package com.chikekotlin.projectx.utils public class UserUtilsKt { public static String checkUserStatus() { return "online"; } }
This means that Java callers can simply call the method by referencing its generated class, just like for any other static method.
/* Java */ import com.chikekotlin.projectx.utils.UserUtilsKt ... UserUtilsKt.checkUserStatus()
Note that we can change the Java class name that the Kotlin compiler generates by using the @JvmName annotation.
@file:JvmName("UserUtils") package com.chikekotlin.projectx.utils fun checkUserStatus(): String { return "online" }
In the code above, we applied the @JvmName annotation and specified a class name UserUtils for the generated file. Note also that this annotation is placed at the beginning of the Kotlin file, before the package definition.
It can be referenced from Java like this:
/* Java */ import com.chikekotlin.projectx.utils.UserUtils ... UserUtils.checkUserStatus()
2. Lambda Expressions
Lambda expressions (or function literals) are also not bound to any entity such as a class, object, or interface. They can be passed as arguments to other functions called higher-order functions (we'll discuss these more in the next post). A lambda expression represents just the block of a function, and using them reduces the noise in our code.
If you're a Java coder, you know that Java 8 and above provides support for lambda expressions. To use lambda expressions in a project that supports earlier Java versions such as Java 7, 6, or 5, we can use the popular Retrolambda library.
One of the awesome things about Kotlin is that lambda expressions are supported out of the box. Because lambda is not supported in Java 6 or 7, for Kotlin to interoperate with it, Kotlin creates a Java anonymous class behind the scene. But note that creating a lambda expression in Kotlin is quite different than it is in Java.
Here are the characteristics of a lambda expression in Kotlin:
It must be surrounded by curly braces {}.
It doesn't have the fun keyword.
There is no access modifier (private, public or protected) because it doesn't belong to any class, object, or interface.
It has no function name. In other words, it's anonymous.
No return type is specified because it will be inferred by the compiler.
Parameters are not surrounded by parentheses ().
And, what's more, we can assign a lambda expression to a variable and then execute it.
Creating Lambda Expressions
Let's now see some examples of lambda expressions. In the code below, we created a lambda expression without any parameters and assigned it a variable message. We then executed the lambda expression by calling message().
val message = { println("Hey, Kotlin is really cool!") } message() // "Hey, Kotlin is really cool!"
Let's also see how to include parameters in a lambda expression.
val message = { myString: String -> println(myString) } message("I love Kotlin") // "I love Kotlin" message("How far?") // "How far?"
In the code above, we created a lambda expression with the parameter myString, along with the parameter type String. As you can see, in front of the parameter type, there is an arrow: this refers to the lambda body. In other words, this arrow separates the parameter list from the lambda body. To make it more concise, we can completely ignore the parameter type (already inferred by the compiler).
val message = { myString -> println(myString) } // will still compile
To have multiple parameters, we just separate them with a comma. And remember, we don't wrap the parameter list in parentheses like in Java.
val addNumbers = { number1: Int, number2: Int -> println("Adding $number1 and $number2") val result = number1 + number2 println("The result is $result") } addNumbers(1, 3)
However, note that if the parameter types can't be inferred, they must be specified explicitly (as in this example), otherwise the code won't compile.
Adding 1 and 3 The result is 4
Passing Lambdas to Functions
We can pass lambda expressions as parameters to functions: these are called "higher-order functions", because they are functions of functions. These kinds of functions can accept a lambda or an anonymous function as parameter: for example, the last() collection function.
In the code below, we passed in a lambda expression to the last() function. (If you want a refresher on collections in Kotlin, visit the third tutorial in this series) As the name says, it returns the last element in the list.  last() accepts a lambda expression as a parameter, and this expression in turn takes one argument of type String. Its function body serves as a predicate to search within a subset of elements in the collection. That means that the lambda expression will decide which elements of the collection will be considered when looking for the last one.
val stringList: List<String> = listOf("in", "the", "club") print(stringList.last()) // will print "club" print(stringList.last({ s: String -> s.length == 3})) // will print "the"
Let's see how to make that last line of code above more readable.
stringList.last { s: String -> s.length == 3 } // will also compile and print "the"
The Kotlin compiler allows us to remove the function parentheses if the last argument in the function is a lambda expression. As you can observe in the code above, we were allowed to do this because the last and only argument passed to the last() function is a lambda expression.
Furthermore, we can make it more concise by removing the parameter type.
stringList.last { s -> s.length == 3 } // will also compile print "the"
We don't need to specify the parameter type explicitly, because the parameter type is always the same as the collection element type. In the code above, we're calling last on a list collection of String objects, so the Kotlin compiler is smart enough to know that the parameter will also be a String type.
The it Argument Name
We can even simplify the lambda expression further again by replacing the lambda expression argument with the auto-generated default argument name it.
stringList.last { it.length == 3 }
The it argument name was auto-generated because last can accept a lambda expression or an anonymous function (we'll get to that shortly) with only one argument, and its type can be inferred by the compiler.
Local Return in Lambda Expressions
Let's start with an example. In the code below, we pass a lambda expression to the foreach() function invoked on the intList collection. This function will loop through the collection and execute the lambda on each element in the list. If any element is divisible by 2, it will stop and return from the lambda.
fun surroundingFunction() { val intList = listOf(1, 2, 3, 4, 5) intList.forEach { if (it % 2 == 0) { return } } println("End of surroundingFunction()") } surroundingFunction() // nothing happened
Running the above code might not have given you the result you might have expected. This is because that return statement won't return from the lambda but instead from the containing function surroundingFunction()! This means that the last code statement in the surroundingFunction() won't execute.
// ... println("End of surroundingFunction()") // This won't execute // ...
To fix this problem, we need to tell it explicitly which function to return from by using a label or name tag.
fun surroundingFunction() { val intList = listOf(1, 2, 3, 4, 5) intList.forEach { if (it % 2 == 0) { return@forEach } } println("End of surroundingFunction()") // Now, it will execute } surroundingFunction() // print "End of surroundingFunction()"
In the updated code above, we specified the default tag @forEach immediately after the return keyword inside the lambda. We have now instructed the compiler to return from the lambda instead of the containing function surroundingFunction(). Now the last statement of surroundingFunction() will execute.
Note that we can also define our own label or name tag.
// ... intList.forEach myLabel@ { if (it % 2 == 0) { return@myLabel // ...
In the code above, we defined our custom label called myLabel@ and then specified it for the return keyword. The @forEach label generated by the compiler for the forEach function is no longer available because we have defined our own.
However, you'll soon see how this local return problem can be solved without labels when we discuss anonymous functions in Kotlin shortly.
3. Member Functions
This kind of function is defined inside a class, object, or interface. Using member functions helps us to modularize our programs further. Let's now see how to create a member function.
class Circle { fun calculateArea(radius: Double): Double { require(radius > 0, { "Radius must be greater than 0" }) return Math.PI * Math.pow(radius, 2.0) } }
This code snippet shows a class Circle (we'll discuss Kotlin classes in later posts) that has a member function calculateArea(). This function takes a parameter radius to calculate the area of a circle.
To invoke a member function, we use the name of the containing class or object instance with a dot, followed by the function name, passing any arguments if need be.
val circle = Circle() print(circle.calculateArea(4.5)) // will print "63.61725123519331"
4. Anonymous Functions
An anonymous function is another way to define a block of code that can be passed to a function. It is not bound to any identifier. Here are the characteristics of an anonymous function in Kotlin:
has no name
is created with the fun keyword
contains a function body
val stringList: List<String> = listOf("in", "the", "club") print(stringList.last{ it.length == 3}) // will print "the"
Because we passed a lambda to the last() function above, we can't be explicit about the return type. To be explicit about the return type, we need to use an anonymous function instead.
val strLenThree = stringList.last( fun(string): Boolean { return string.length == 3 }) print(strLenThree) // will print "the"
In the above code, we have replaced the lambda expression with an anonymous function because we want to be explicit about the return type.
Towards the end of the lambda section in this tutorial, we used a label to specify which function to return from. Using an anonymous function instead of a lambda inside the forEach() function solves this problem more simply. The return expression returns from the anonymous function and not from the surrounding one, which in our case is surroundingFunction().
fun surroundingFunction() { val intList = listOf(1, 2, 3, 4, 5) intList.forEach ( fun(number) { if (number % 2 == 0) { return } }) println("End of surroundingFunction()") // statement executed } surroundingFunction() // will print "End of surroundingFunction()"
5. Local or Nested Functions
To take program modularization further, Kotlin provides us with local functions—also known as nested functions. A local function is a function that is declared inside another function.
fun printCircumferenceAndArea(radius: Double): Unit { fun calCircumference(radius: Double): Double = (2 * Math.PI) * radius val circumference = "%.2f".format(calCircumference(radius)) fun calArea(radius: Double): Double = (Math.PI) * Math.pow(radius, 2.0) val area = "%.2f".format(calArea(radius)) print("The circle circumference of $radius radius is $circumference and area is $area") } printCircumferenceAndArea(3.0) // The circle circumference of 3.0 radius is 18.85 and area is 28.27
As you can observe in the code snippet above, we have two single-line functions: calCircumference() and calArea() nested inside the printCircumferenceAndAread() function. The nested functions can be called only from within the enclosing function and not outside. Again, the use of nested functions makes our program more modular and tidy.
We can make our local functions more concise by not explicitly passing parameters to them. This is possible because local functions have access to all parameters and variables of the enclosing function. Let's see that now in action:
fun printCircumferenceAndArea(radius: Double): Unit { fun calCircumference(): Double = (2 * Math.PI) * radius val circumference = "%.2f".format(calCircumference()) fun calArea(): Double = (Math.PI) * Math.pow(radius, 2.0) val area = "%.2f".format(calArea()) // ... }
As you can see, this updated code looks more readable and reduces the noise we had before. Though the enclosing function in this example given is small, in a larger enclosing function that can be broken down into smaller nested functions, this feature can really come in handy.
6. Infix Functions
The infix notation allows us to easily call a one-argument member function or extension function. In addition to a function being one-argument, you must also define the function using the infix modifier. To create an infix function, two parameters are involved. The first parameter is the target object, while the second parameter is just a single parameter passed to the function.
Creating an Infix Member Function
Let's look at how to create an infix function in a class. In the code example below, we created a Student class with a mutable kotlinScore instance field. We created an infix function by using the infix modifier before the fun keyword. As you can see below, we created an infix function addKotlinScore() that takes a score and adds to the kotlinScore instance field.
class Student { var kotlinScore = 0.0 infix fun addKotlinScore(score: Double): Unit { this.kotlinScore = kotlinScore + score } }
Calling an Infix Function
Let's also see how to invoke the infix function we have created. To call an infix function in Kotlin, we don't need to use the dot notation, and we don't need to wrap the parameter with parentheses.
val student = Student() student addKotlinScore 95.00 print(student.kotlinScore) // will print "95.0"
In the code above, we called the infix function, the target object is student, and the double 95.00 is the parameter passed to the function.
Using infix functions wisely can make our code more expressive and clearer than the normal style. This is greatly appreciated when writing unit tests in Kotlin (we'll discuss testing in Kotlin in a future post).
"Chike" should startWith("ch") myList should contain(myElement) "Chike" should haveLength(5) myMap should haveKey(myKey)
The to Infix Function
In Kotlin, we can make the creation of a Pair instance more succinct by using the to infix function instead of the Pair constructor. (Behind the scenes, to also creates a Pair instance.) Note that the to function is also an extension function (we'll discuss these more in the next post).
public infix fun <A, B> A.to(that: B): Pair<A, B> = Pair(this, that)
Let's now compare the creation of a Pair instance using both the to infix function and directly using the Pair constructor, which performs the same operation, and see which one is better.
val nigeriaCallingCodePair = 234 to "Nigeria" val nigeriaCallingCodePair2 = Pair(234, "Nigeria") // Same as above
As you can see in the code above, using the to infix function is more concise than directly using the Pair constructor to create a Pair instance. Remember that using the to infix function, 234 is the target object and the String "Nigeria" is the parameter passed to the function. Moreover, note that we can also do this to create a Pair type:
val nigeriaCallingCodePair3 = 234.to("Nigeria") // same as using 234 to "Nigeria"
In the Ranges and Collections post, we created a map collection in Kotlin by giving it a list of pairs—the first value being the key, and the second the value. Let's also compare the creation of a map by using both the to infix function and the Pair constructor to create the individual pairs.
val callingCodesMap: Map<Int, String> = mapOf(234 to "Nigeria", 1 to "USA", 233 to "Ghana")
In the code above, we created a comma-separated list of Pair types using the to infix function and passed them to the mapOf() function. We can also create the same map by directly using the Pair constructor for each pair.
val callingCodesPairMap: Map<Int, String> = mapOf(Pair(234, "Nigeria"), Pair(1, "USA"), Pair(233, "Ghana"))
As you can see again, sticking with the to infix function has less noise than using the Pair constructor.

Love Sick by Flowez - Summary and Chapter One
RR: Hey, hey! Good morning, evening, and afternoon! Welcome to Love Sick, kiddos, written by the lovely Flowez! They’ve got a few works up, and a… prologue… to this, but the prologue is unnecessary and one chapter long. It’s - look, I’m gonna be honest, this fic is a guilty pleasure. It’s not quite… My Immortal or It’s My Life! bad, but… Don’t get your hopes too high. I only enjoy reading this because it makes me laugh off my hope in humanity.
RR: Anyhow~!  Joining me for this, and hopefully regularly, is the ever- lovely AK.
AK: Hey there! I’m gonna be honest, this fanfic got me thinking deeply… on lots and lots of things… mainly asking myself how Flowez could keep writing it, some things just aren’t meant to be! Not saying my writing is anything spectacular, but… sometimes you read this and you wonder. Anyway, have fun! If you can.
Summary
Despair, that's the only thing they could feel. Timeline after timeline, they had to watch as Sans and Toriel got together. They always forgot about her. They didn't care that Frisk was madly in love with Sans. Though, the human was tired of it. They wanted everyone to know how they felt. They wanted everyone to see the pain they were in. Frisk wanted to claim Sans as their own.
Frisk hated being ignored.
She was going to make sure she got attention.
RR: And in the worst way possible. GAH. Be prepared for 1NS4N17Y and badfic. So much badfic. Then again, this wouldn’t be here if it weren’t bad. Still.
AK: This is already so messed up. I mean, I thought ‘they’ are Frisk? But then the author introduces that Frisk was madly in love with Sans?! My head hurts already. And now Frisk is a she. *sighs*
RR: Also, friendly warning: there’s gonna be pedophilliac undertones later. Lots of swearing, probably from us.
AK: So hide your kids and pop your popcorn, keep it sealed, this is gonna be a bumpy ride!
   The beginning
Timeline after timeline, you were forced to watch as Sans left you. He never even gave you a chance. Every timeline he had chased after Toriel. Your mother! you watch with hate in your heart as the two kissed, like they did everytime they saw each other.
RR: Every time is two words. Why would an adult give a small child a chance at dating. Why. And yes, your mother.
AK: He’s your father in this, child, cool it!
RR: Nah, that’s Asgore. Sans is just trying to be daddio.
AK: Well he fails miserably already
Their kissing had been getting more intense. Their relationship was getting stronger! You began hating your own mother.
AK: I had no idea that’s what relationships do.
RR: It’s almost like they’re going steady.
A small inhale of air was greatly needed. You began to calm down. There were a few people that actually attempted to make you feel better. Even if Toriel and Sans weren't considered friends, you still had many others. Even the king supported you! He missed having a family. He wanted Toriel back and he wanted you as his daughter. When he told you that, your heart pounded. It was a perfect image. A happy family.
RR: … why would your heart pound at the thought of being in a perfect family? With excitement? That doesn’t seem quite right… And honestly, child, have you tried being happy for those two??? Christ. You little brat.
If that were the case, you wouldn't want to murder your mother.
RR: … Our protagonist!
No matter what happened, though, the skeleton and the goat only seemed to get closer. There was only one time when Sans had broken it up with her. It was a month ago. Papyrus had told you that you deserved a happy ending with Sans.
AK: Papyrus?! What the hell is PAPYRUS doing telling you that?! NO. Not at all
RR: Papyrus is simply too innocent to understand pedophilia. He is, according to the tags, “a bean”.
A smile had graced you features.
AK: you, features, you have been graced with this slutty smile. Help.
RR: *snorts* Slutty. Too early for that, and it’s directed at Papyrus. She saves that for Sans, remember?
AK: Surprised she can keep it to herself for so long.
Papyrus was so nice and you were glad to have a friend like him.
He had went to talk to Sans and insisted that the two would never speak again if Sans continued to date Toriel. If was obvious, Sans was pissed at Papyrus. It was also obvious that Sans would do anything for Papyrus. So he broke up with her.
RR: Sans had a right to be pissed! Goddamn, the out of character is killing me… If anything, Papyrus would try and find the middle ground - he wants to be friends with everyone, and if push came to shove, he’d pick his brother. And the grammar here. ‘Had went’ would be better as ‘had gone’ or just ‘went’, ‘If was obvious, …’ should be ‘It was obvious that Sans…’,  and the last sentence could’ve just as easily been added to the previous with a comma. ‘... anything for Papyrus, so…’
They got back together the next week.
RR: Shame it didn’t end the fic.
"What a pitiful failure."
AK: This badfic is starting to make sense finally! Good job, Chara - I think.
RR: Who even knows if this is Chara.  For all we know, Frisk is hearing voices.
She had squirmed her way back into his heart. She told puns whenever she could. She made extra pie and even snuck ketchup into the recipe. She didn't even care that it had made you sick.
AK: Maybe you should try chloroform next. Also who the hell is who?! Tell me that!
RR: … Did - did Toriel even know you got sick? What out-of-character witch is this?! Goat-Mom would never!
After that night, you moved in with Asgore. He was really nice and always listened to your opinion. You started calling him dad and stopped calling Toriel mother.
AK: Such angst, at least give the goat mom a chance.
RR: What blasphemy do you speak of?! She stole Sans from Frisk!
She was still nice but it hurt your soul thinking about her and Sans.
You Loved him.
RR: Did you mean LOVEd?
The two were blind about it.
RR: Yeah, the thing about most parental figures - or those that would like to be parental figures - is that they tend to view affections as platonic because it’s otherwise inappropriate and should not be encouraged.
Everyone seen it but them!
AK: Everyone done did seen it but him! Isn’t that the way it always goes?
RR: *sniff, sniff* I smell cli~che.
Today, Sans called. Your breathing hitched as your heart began to beat at a fast pace. Sans was calling you!
AK: He’s calling to ask how he mysteriously got your number on his phone.
RR: “paps got me a phone, who’s this?”
It took you a few seconds to respond due to a lump forming in your throat.
"H-Hi, Sans! Watcha doing?" Fuck, you didn't want to sound so desperate! The sudden need to impress him formed. Stop being such a loser.
AK: Never have I thought saying the words “Hi, [name]! Whatcha Doing?” would sound desperate… then again this Frisk has some major social issues.
RR: Was… was it the stutter? AK, help me out here, why is that desperate? Did she yell it? I’m so confused.
AK: No, see, it was her actively trying to keep her clothing on while she said it.
RR: Oh my god. You’re terrible.
"Oh, this will be quite interesting." You ignored that small voice in the back of your head.
RR: Just a generic voice, probably hearing things. Seriously, are we supposed to know this is Chara at this point in time, or just think Frisk is bonkers?
Though, you couldn't. Every thought about Sans had always made your heart flutter within your small chest.
AK: Maybe that’s why he doesn’t like you, hmm? Eheheh
RR: … stop.
AK: Just getting into the same mindset of this character~
The skeleton chuckled over the phone. A smile formed on your face at the beautiful sound. He was happy.
RR: I never woulda guessed!
Why was he? You scream from within your mind as you thought of the possibility of Sans being happy to talk to you.
RR: He’s not. He’s happy you’re so far away that he has to call.
"Tibia honest, kiddo. I was calling to see if you want to go to Toriel's. She said she was starting to miss you and she doesn't understand why ya suddenly left to live with Asgore."
AK: HAH! Hah.. ha.. Ha, get it? He made a - haha pun.. Wow.. that was good...
RR: Would’ve worked better with Tibia-nest, because tibia already has the start of honest. And, patella the truth, you’re gonna get really sick of his puns. They aren’t that humerus. In fact, a few are downright inskullting. They’ll wear on your bones, fast. Especially since the lovely Flowez only uses tibia, patella, and a couple others. I don’t see why she couldn’t just include femur puns if she can’t think of so many - and it’s not like Sans has to pun. Just occasionally is good.
AK: The pun is an art form, when one comes to you, you pun, you do not think of them constantly.
You couldn't tell him the truth. What would he think? Surely, he would be furious if you talked about why you moved out.
RR: … why? Why would he be furious? There’s… what?
AK: *hands up, walks away from that* Nope.
Plus, you could feel the large amount of disappointment show on your face. Your lips had scrunched up together, eyes became droopy, and even your shoulders began to Sag.
AK: That is a real 2 year old pout right there, no wonder Sans thinks of you as a child of his!
RR: ohgodkillitwithfire.
He did not call for you, Toriel told him to call me.
RR: Oh. Is this first person now?
He would never call me like this, Frisk began to bite her fingernails.
RR: Th-third?!
AK: Sure has a lot of points of view, now why can’t it just have a point?
"I-I don't know if I can. I promised papa Asgore that we could do something today. We were probably going to go hiking." The lie sounded pretty good and it didn't even sound fake. You are a great liar.
AK: Okay, but how did she say it? Because that’s where all the magic comes from. Also what hiking trails?
RR: Good question! Also a question: why not just politely refuse? O-or… why is there an emphasis on Papa Asgore? (papa should be capitalized…) Is Frisk trying to rub in that Sans’ll never be her father-figure?
Sans took a deep breath, despite not having any lungs. Frisk took one also so that they could sound equally frustrated.
AK: If you don’t want people to ask questions about the skeleton, just play it off like it’s normal!
RR: Why do you want to sound frustrated. Third person again, so is the reader someone else? Help.
You could practically see him shaking his head through the phone.
"Well, Tori really wants to see you. Do you think you can reschedule?"
Anything for you Sans.
AK: Don’t trust that anything, Sans!
RR: Oh, no. Do. Just not what you ask them to do.
"Sure. Asgore will understand but I feel really bad. I promised the big guy one day and then I cancel."
You wanted Sans to think you were doing him a huge favor. You never had any real plans for the day but making him feel guilty would be the only way to make him show some compassion. You wanted Sans to show you at least something!
AK: … This section confuses me and makes my head hurt.
RR: Best I can translate, dear, is that Frisk is trying to guilt-trip Sans by lying. In doing so, they hope to attain some pity, which I guess is better than the genuine desire to hang out with you that he was expressing…?
RR: … Shit, I just confused myself.
You knew he was smiling based on his voice.
"Thanks, it means a skele-ton!"
RR: You’re not allowed to use that pun.
Click
He hung up already. There was no hesitation. He probably went to go tell Toriel that he convinced you to come over. Then, he would be awarded with a kiss.
RR: … Is - is Goat-Mom training Sans? Is that what’s happening?
AK: I think that’s called ‘normal affection’, dear. I take that back, nothing about this related to affection is normal, he’s totally training her.
It made you sick. Though, you were able to ignore the agony and moved on. You didn't want to worry Asgore. He was already going through enough with trying to make peace with the other humans. So, it would be the right thing to do.
AK: Must have been agonizing if it was so easily ignored. Aw, see she’s a good person - with morals and things!
RR: *shakes head* She’s an angsty brat, she’s had practice.
You scurried through the house. Asgore wasn't in his room, the bathroom, nor the living room. The only spot left to check was the kitchen and he was there.
AK: Surprised he didn’t just leave the fic, it’s what I would have done. Also try ‘there he was’ sounds much better.
RR: Also try a comma between kitchen and ‘and’. Just a thought.
He appeared to be cooking something. Whatever it was, it smelled absolutely delicious.
You walked in a little more so that he could spot you.
RR: … isn’t he looking at his food? Where is Frisk walking in from? Hell, what shape is the house? Where’s the description??? It’s not hard!
RR: You walked a little further into the cheery-looking kitchen, careful not to bump yourself on one of the outstretched counters. The slap of your feet on tile alerted Asgore to your presence. He turned slightly to see you, and the corners of his lips upturned in a smile.
AK: Wow, I want to just keep reading that over and over again just to get away from the next line.
"There you are! Howdy, Frisk!" His voice was cheerful as he stuck something into the oven.
At least someone was happy to see you.
AK: Oh yes, because you’re just such poor hated little thing with no old skeleton to - I am not even finishing that.
RR: I would have been forced to make you read something worse if you had.
"Hi, papa. Watcha making?"
RR: Apostrophe and ‘h’ missing from what’cha…
AK: Nah, English doesn’t matter when trying to communicate
"Just some dinner. It's going to take all day to make."
AK: What if you need the oven for breakfast or lunch? Use your large head would you?!
Good, that meant you could go see Sans. As long as you were back for dinner, Asgore would let you go see your favorite skeleton!
A bright shade of pink began to spread across your perfectly tanned face. You didn't quite mind. Your dad knew you liked Sans more than you should and he was a little flustered. He was confused by why everyone liked him so much. Though, in the end, he agreed the two of you made a good couple and he didn't say that only because he hated him and Toriel together. He meant it.
AK: A little flustered hmm? Just a little flustered that his daughter wants to get naughty with his wife’s boyfriend?! …and he agrees with it! Wow so much is wrong with this.
RR: … I can’t… It’s too early in the fic for me to be running out of wat. Seriously, does no one have any concept of age?! Sans is Toriel’s age, and Frisk is a child!  There’s not even the excuse of bullshit monster biology, children are canonically easily identifiable.
That's why you moved in. He understood you more than anyone. He knew exactly what you were going through.
AK: Why not just fall in love with him if he understands you so well, you angst ridden bitch!?
RR: Whoa, easy there. And I’m more pissed on Asgore’s behalf here. He lost his wife, but he can shove aside his upset at Sans. Et tu, Frisk?
"I'm going to go out for a bit. What time will dinner be ready?" You wished you didn't sound so innocent. Even if people thought you were,
RR: That is a perfectly normal question - what, should you ask about when you shall indulge in the feast of deadened flesh and rotting flora? I don’t get the connection.
You weren't a good person.
AK: Really?! I had no IDEA!!
RR: Shh, hon, shh. That aside… why the fuck is the comma in the previous paragraph, if this was clearly intended???
The thoughts that always swept your mind weren't normal. You were becoming obsessed with Sans and not in a good way.
RR: There’s… There’s a good way? idon’twanttoknow idon’twanttoknow
AK: Somebody find me that good way and write a decent fanfic on it.
"Alright, Frisk. Just make sure to be home before six!"
AK: “but daaad!! That’s no time to get to know anybody!!”
RR: “No, Frisk, the last time I let you do that, you were cat-fishing.”
You gave him a hug before running to leave the house. Your hand rested on the door handle before slamming it open and rushing out but you didn't make it very far.
AK: I need to learn how to slam a door open, that’s some neat stuff. Nothing like showing angst than slamming a door twice.
Smack
RR: Please tell me someone hit her.
You fell to the ground. You banged into something. What the fuck was it!? You peeked one eye open and looked up at the wall that stopped you.
AK: You banged into something? And it wasn’t Sans?! Wow.
RR: *snorts* I’m not sure we’re much better than the fic on the maturity front.
Your breathing stopped.
AK: Not for long enough, though. Sadly.
RR: Quick, Sans, you can still save yourself!
Sans.
AK: Oh wait my amazement short circuited, it was Sans, of course.
He chuckled at your clumsiness for a few seconds before extending his hand out towards you. Deja Vu. It was awkward that you counted how many times you had accepted his hand. A total of fourteen times. Each time felt better than the last.
AK: Sans, don’t be an asshole, she was coming out of the door and couldn’t see you. Yeah but that hand acceptance was a handshake… there’s a difference.
RR: We both know Frisk gets off to any kind of touch involving Sans. I doubt there’s a difference… Also, keep this in mind. I’m gonna yell a little bit later on.
So, when his boney hands touched the skin of your hand, you couldn't help but to smile and look up at him.
AK: I guess differences don’t matter when related to being turned on.
RR: Fetishes.
He tugged on you and pulled you up to your feet. You could see him clearly he was beautiful, like always.
AK: I think you mean handsome, unless he’s in his ballroom gown.
RR: Eh, no, beautiful was an older term to describe an attractive male. Not sure why Frisk is using it, but sure… Not the weirdest thing in this fic.
AK: you mean to say that Frisk is older than she acts?!
RR: The story would be thusly improved by Frisk being possibly legal, then worsened by how Frisk acts. It doesn’t get better.
His smile was real and he looked genuinely happy.
"Too bad your selfishness is going to ruin that, right? You're so obsessed you don't care what happens, as long as you end up with Sans, you don't really care if he's unhappy."
AK: Okay, Chara? Who ruined you? The Author?
RR: That’s the voice in Frisk’s head! I don’t think it’s Chara.
AK: Right, not Chara in the least.
That's not true, was the only thing you could tell yourself to stop the guilt from forming.
Sans gave you a strange glance before asking you what was wrong. You shook your head in response. You didn't want to worry him.
RR: Real descriptive.
if you told him about Chara, he would hate you! It made you wonder if he remembered your genocide route. If he did remember the whole thing, you would have to take drastic measures.
AK: Drastic measures, hey?
RR: Pfeh. “Drastic measures” my ass.
"Wanna take a shortcut, kiddo?" You nodded again. No words were able to come to mind at the moment because you were to busy staring at him to think.
AK: too* … I know, staring at somebody takes up a lot of your brain capacity.
RR: You have to get your eyes to focus right, and then processing the image, and - well, it’s a lot of work for her singular brain cell.
You wanted him all to yourself. Though, he didn't even want you, at all. The only reason he talks to you is because of Toriel and Papyrus. If it wasn't for them he probably would have killed you because you're such a fuckin sadist and a dirty brother killer!
RR: Okay. Nice of you to say. Now show me. Show. Don’t. Tell. I know it’s a staple of bad writing, but come on! And where’s the proof that he only talks to you because of Goat-Mom and the Bean?! He didn’t seem to mind talking to you earlier! And! And! If he doesn’t remember timelines, why would he kill you?! Continuity, do you have it?!
That's right, that malicious voice in your head didn't force you to kill anyone. You had gotten so pissed and so bored that you reset and took everything out on your friends. Eventually, you learned to love pain and inflicting it on there. Your dirty, rotten, cold adventure turned you into a real monster.
AK: I think they would like you better if you were an actual monster. You might have a chance with Sans!
RR: If Frisk were an actual monster, they’d be so much more pleasant to deal with. Oh, by the way~ Mini-rant incoming~
RR: Remember how many times Frisk has shaken Sans’s hand? Fourteen. Fourteen times they’ve done it, and somewhere in the middle of that, they got bored. That’s - that’s just sad. Were all the runs perfect? Did Frisk not once die, not once reset and get shoved back to the last save point? Because that’s never explained. So I’m assuming… yes. I’m not going to try and defend this Frisk. They don’t deserve it - we have zero reason to sympathize with them. And the genocide? It’s all but canon that Chara helped with that, but in this? Oh, no, that was all Frisk. They wanted the LOVE and EXP. Because they were bored of their friends and life, and pissed that Sans had the audacity to pursue someone else. Just… God, I hate this Frisk.
AK: My Bitch’dar is going crazy right now. Anybody else throw away their popcorn and run to find a toilet already?
Though, it was wrong. You were trying to change. You hadn't hurt anyone this whole timeline. Thank goodness. If Sans found out you hurt someone, he wouldn't forgive you.
RR: … I feel sick. It must be so hard to not kill anyone. Nice to know that Sans is your only reason for not doing so. Not Papyrus or Asgore, both of whom you claim to love, oh no. Just Sans.
AK: True - pffheh - True love - hahaa *snrk* Conquers a- I can’t! *cracks up*
You would break down.
Scream.
Cry
Kill.
AK: So you’d identify the problem and make it worse instead of fixing it. I knew you were a smarty!
RR: *downhill whistle and mimics an explosion*
You couldn't let him hate you, he meant way too much. It made you feel like garbage. You were so obsessed with Sans that you were becoming out of control. Almost like an animal that still needed to be tamed.
AK: … I can’t. It hurts too much.
RR: Needed to be tamed implies that you fine once. Which I call bullshit. Going feral would be better. Also presented: completely healthy relationships!
Sans started to walk forward, holding your hand. A darker shade of red formed, he didn't notice it. It would be kinda embarrassing if he did take notice of it.
AK: How do you know what he notices and doesn’t notice?! Frisk is in Sans’s head! We’re all doomed!
RR: Shhh, Frisk is omnipotent.
He squeezed tighter as he rounded the corner of the humongous house.
RR: what house? We’re in a void
Bam.
AK: WHERE’S THE GUNSHOT?! AND THE CORPSE?!
RR: IS IT OVER?!
We were at Toriel's.
RR: Damn.
Sans's magic was amazing He was amazing. You smiled at his strength.
AK: Especially that whole one HP.
That was another reason why you loved him. Not only was he funny, kind, an amazing brother, and a good friend but he was also strong enough to kill if he had too. He was strong enough to punish you.
RR: NONONONO! GODNO! NOPE, UH-UH, NOTOKAY, NOPENOPENOPE! NOPUNISHMENTSABORTABORT
AK: Honey honey, shhhh! Don’t worry! It gets worse!
RR: *whimpers* I know.
"Wow, nice shortcut, chuckles." You mentally laughed at that perfect nickname.
AK: Chuckles. Like a child naming their first dog.
RR: Real creative there, kiddo.
You could see him trying to hold back a laugh but he failed. He chuckled a bit. Not a full blown laugh but it was something.
RR: … you called him Chuckles. That’s barely worth a snort in anyone with actual humor.
"That's what you're callin me these days, kid? That pretty humerus." A classic Sans moment. It was perfect.
AK: And we’re back with puns that aren’t even worthy of a ‘you tried’.
RR: *You failed.
His joke was so bad but knowing it came from him made it so much better. If it was made by someone else you would have found it pathetic. Though, him, nothing about him could ever be pathetic.
RR: Pointing out your own flaws doesn’t make them better.
"I guess. Unless, you want me to call you Mr. Boner!"
AK: OKAY. Where’s the trash bin?! I need to visit it because I have a big delivery!
RR: *laugh-sobs* It comes up again.
"Frisk, watch your language! " Despite it being a inappropriate joke, he still thought it was funny and once again laughed but it was louder this time. You weren't sure if it was the joke or the disbelief of what you just said. You found both funny and laughed with him.
AK: “Watch your language!” As he encourages that behavior. 10/10 father figure.
RR: Do as he says, not as he does? Who am I kidding, Frisk would rather have him do her. Also, should be ‘an inappropriate joke’. That lack of an ‘n’ is inappropriate.
AK: Once again, fuck English for being so damn rulediculous - I’m sorry I saw the opportunity.
"Thanks for dealing with me, Sans."
RR: He gets paid in Toriel.
He released your hand and looked at you right into the eyes.
"No problem, kid. Nothing can get under my skin."
AK: And I almost thought it would get serious for a moment there. *sigh*
Another pun. So, that meant he was in a good mood.
"You'll probably ruin it, though. Don't deny that either."
AK: Chara, your bullshit comments have no purpose, just admit that you’re a sad throwaway character and shut up.
RR: Shh, let them pretend. This is the best we’re getting out of this chapter, and all it is, is an unnamed voice.
AK: Fine.
Stupid voice, was the only thing you responded with. It didn't reply back.
Good.
AK: WHO THE DICKENS IS WHO?!
RR: I thought we stopped asking that?
AK: Well I’m still confused!
You didn't need it ruining your day. A day with Sans. Maybe, just maybe, Today would be the day you could get between Sans and Toriel. You hoped so. Watching them further their relationship made you want to gag.
RR: Haha. Ha. You’re so sweet.
Ugh.
You would sabotage them eventually.
RR: What the fuck is wrong with this child.
AK: Bet if she got a therapist, the therapist would suicide.
For now, you just wanted to enjoy Sansy's presence.
RR: Sansy. *war flashbacks*
Nothing would ruin Today. You would make sure of that. No matter what it took.
RR: Well, must be a special holiday if the ‘t’ is capitalized that.
RR: … Wait, was that supposed to be threatening?
In order for everything to go normally, you needed to act as if you happy for them. Don't let them find out the reason behind your sudden move in with Asgore that occurred two weeks ago.
Act sweet.
Be fake.
AK: Because that works
Make them think that you're still that good girl from the first few timelines. You could never act like that naturally but you were a good actor.
If you weren't becoming a goddamn yandere, everything would have been fine. Though, you kinda were.
AK: Well at least we know she can identify the problem, however, that is a huge understatement.
RR: I… I don’t understand that second sentence. Kinda were… what? And Frisk, sweetie… *points to my favorite yanderes* You’re not even a fuckin’ drop in the barrel .
AK: I don’t think the author understood it when they wrote it.
RR: I think they have their own special subset of English.
Hiding your deep breath, you opened the front door of Toriel's house. This was your chance to prove yourself to Sans.
AK: You know I have to wonder if she ever thought about what Toriel would think of her stealing her boyfriend.
RR: You imply she thinks.
"Be good, little Frisky."
AK: I did not call for a FriskxVoiceinherhead so don’t.
RR: noooo, nonono, it’s better than SansxFrisk in this WE CAN STILL SAVE SANS
You had to be. If you wanted Sans to return the feeling you had for him, then you were going to have to prove you were worth the time and effort.
AK: OH MY GOD WE’RE DONE !! FINISHED!! I CAN GO TAKE A BATH AND FORGET!!!
RR: Haha, no we’re not. Still got some chapters to go.
AK: *sobs*
RR: *pats your head* Don’ worry, it’ll get beeeeett… um. Something. It’ll get something. Something might actually happen.
AK: Reassuring!!
RR: Do you want me to lie?
