While I get why people are doing it because its a push back against Israeli propaganda, all these "look at how beautiful and kind Palestinian people are! They don't deserve to be killed!" posts rub me the wrong way. Yes, the Palestinian people and culture are beautiful. Yes it's absolutely atrocious what's happening. But even if the Palestinian people were rude, or unfriendly to foreigners, or their culture was off-putting and "strange", that wouldn't excuse what's happening. A group of people could be the coldest assholes in the world, and they would still deserve support against genocide. That's what human rights is. And trust me I get why people are doing it, but it pisses me off that genocided people have to prove that they are worthy of saving while being actively slaughtered. It shouldn't matter. It really shouldn't fucking matter. People, no matter what, should not be going through what they're going through. I'm so tired of aspca commercial level posts going "look, they're human too!" and knowing it is actually necessary for some people to give a fuck.

some people seem way too happy abt the creators "TAKEN DOWN" in the hbomb video. people gleefully talking about Somerton's upcoming veer to the right. just always looking for someone they can feel guiltless and happy about tearing to shreds. and bloodletting wasn't the main point of that video. why is that the main takeaway.

maybe i'm missing something here, but it always confuses me when i see things like "some autistic people are disabled by their autism and some aren't" or "not everyone sees their autism as a disability". because... autism very much is a disability?! if you're autistic, then your symptoms must be present in a way that is disabling to you in your everyday life. it's literally in the diagnostic criteria. of course the extent to and areas in which you're disabled can vary greatly depending on the individual, but disability is part of the basic definition of autism, regardless of your personal feelings on the matter.

don't get me wrong, it's still much better than "autism is only a disability because of capitalism" because at least it doesn't make sweeping generalisations that aren't even remotely accurate to the lived reality of most autistic people. but it still perpetuates incorrect assumptions under the guise of personal choice, and honestly feels like an attempt to distance autism from disability in general. being disabled is nothing to be ashamed of, and i wish people wouldn't twist the meaning of autism to remove disability from it.

(and yes, that goes for level 1/low support needs autistics as well. i would be considered level 1 (though i wasn't diagnosed that way) and i'm still disabled by my autism! not to the same extent as many other people, sure, but i'm still disabled. if i wasn't, i wouldn't be autistic.)

ok back on my hater grind I cannot stress enough how much I hate the “characterization” that Blake has gotten for the last few volumes. Like. I’m gonna say it, she’s pretty much just been rendered to the “other half” of bees, when even THEN yang gets more stuff to do than she does. She barely gets to interact with anyone else. Stuff is thrown in about her last second without any foreshadowing. (Looking up to ruby…Her being a bridge… her having a fucking culture? Um nooooo….?) Girlypop can barely fight on her OWN anymore. Where’d that shoulder strength you showed in the V5 ending go girl? And now all she does is act as her GF’s arm candy y and cower behind her, cower away from the person she supposedly looked up to who is also their youngest team member.

Idk I just don’t think revealing a character to have been a victim of abuse and then for the next three volumes they’re the helpless meek shy one is very empowering girlboss of them

Those things should literally be banned, that's how we will save women'"

Like even if you put aside the whole ‘she just turned 16’ thing her blush expression that she makes when it comes up is used just as often to indicate humiliation, uncomfortable embarrassment and general shame or discomfort in the story as it is a cute sort of embarrassment. There’s no indication she has a thing for owning people beyond wanting the statue and acceptance from other fairies that comes with being a high class fairy that can own humans in lostbelt britain and it just seems really mean spirited to take one person’s teasing of her over a plan they all formulated together to try and protect someone as indication that she has a fetish
