Farah and Laswell with a Reader with a Headache

Farah: She’d get fussy over you and demand you drink some water immediately. Won’t say too much while handing you a big glass of water, though. You better drink half of it in one go and gradually drink the rest of it sooner rather than later. She makes sure that you will drink the water and refills the glass as well, doesn’t matter how much you complain. She can be stern when she needs to be and this is one of those times. She doesn’t immediately grab some headache meds, though, opting for literally everything else first. Drink some water, go to bed at a reasonable time, take a long nap, just rest up, that sort of stuff. Only when the headache doesn’t seem to be going away will she resort to giving you some meds. Or when it worsens, whichever comes first. However, if it’s just a headache because you haven’t slept well in a while, then she’ll usher you to sleep while she does most of the housework. Will be quiet while she does so, however. She’s a very competent sniper, she knows how to be quiet while doing something.

Laswell: Like Farah, she would not be very pleased with you not drinking much, or any, water. Will give you the nearest bottle of water she can grab, even one with a flavor you like to give you more of an incentive to drink it. Will also make sure that you actually drink it, she’ll stand beside you and watch you down the water bottle, leave and emerge with a new one in hand. Will also use meds as a last resort sort of thing and tries everything else before that. It’s not that she’s against using medication, but using too much of it can lessen its effectiveness, so she’d prefer you take a nap or go to bed to make it go away. If the headache won’t go away or gets worse then, like Farah, she’ll grab the meds and give you some. Will also usher you to bed if you’re not feeling well, she’ll leave you alone for the time being. Cooks dinner for you and her and only calls you when it’s time to eat. Afterwards it’s time for you to go to bed again and sleep the headache off. Laswell can handle herself and the housework in the meantime, but she will be a little more stern with you if you decide to wake up for no good reason. You will be sleeping it off, whether you like it or not.

Aww thank you for asking such a delicious question, pal! Hope you're ready to listen to my 1 am rambles XD

Alright so, to be completely honest...I actually don't truly know how Romance works to execute it myself 😬

Haha yup, sadly, the concept of Romance and Romantic Attraction didn't naturally come to me my whole life and I had a hard time understanding them. (Skill issue, amiright?) So I learned about them through fiction. And even then, my understanding of Romance was a little bit different from what it's usually is (spoiler: it wasn't actually Romance, the word I needed was "Queerplatonic").

I've drawn ship arts before I started drawing Frans and let me tell you, almost all of them were 2 characters just standing next to each other, no hugs, no kisses. Maybe they'll look at each other with fondness. And I was like "hell yeah, I've achieved Romance 😌" pfft.

My 2020 Frans works were where my ship art skills got improved. But you can still see that they aren't explicitly romantic (like, the first time I drew a Frans forehead kiss was for a request). Whatever, I was drawing stuffs about my fav lil guys and I was happy... and yet a tiny part of me wasn't feeling it, like it felt...odd to call them romantic. All these shippy art and I still felt uncomfortable to draw something extremely Romantic. (...this kinda sounds similar to a comphet kind of situation, you get what I'm saying?)

2 years later, I learned about the term "queerplatonic" and just like that, everything made sense =o Now THAT'S the kind of relationship I've been thinking about all these years and it felt magical. Suddenly, with this new knowledge, drawing shippy art felt more comfortable for me, cozy even. Cuz now, the "romance" I'm making is like something a little special for me.

And then I thought "what if I...👀" I grabbed Frisk and Sans like figurines and used them to make my own little ideas of a queerplatonic relationship as they were the perfect materials to work with for me.

I've actually been busying myself with thinking up ideas for them a year before I revealed it to my mutuals, even long before I revealed it publicly 😅

Still, my Roommate Banter AU Frans is still classic romantic. I've only been making funny lil contents of them but I swear! They're secretly crushing on each other, there's romance underneath! I just suck at Romance 😭

So yeah, TL:DR, I don't completely understand romance so I did what I felt comfortable and did actually get the most, approach a ship with a queerplatonic lens.

Tho I'm still learning about Romance cuz there're other ships I'd love to draw shippy art for XD

i got a $200 coupon from my mother for xmas to get either my nails done, my brows tinted, lashes extended or my lips temporarly filled and this is the most direct homophobia i have ever experienced

I got a job as a bookseller!!!

#nat talks #listen. it's not the dream bc I've already worked in a bookstore and it's actually terrible at times #but I only really worked during holidays and people were just so rude #BUT I do have higher hopes for this location #also I tentatively know two people who work there so it will be fun!#it's a sub role and a little unclear if I'll only work during christmas and the book sale in feb or more #it depends on if the people who are on sick leave will return and when #but I can keep freelancing and apply for corporate jobs I want in the meantime #at the very least I can work during december either way and if I end up finding something else maybe I can work weekends during the booksal #so to not let them down too much #I honestly am just looking forward to getting out of the house and meeting people and working with my body more #because my mind is very fried #I have a short shift tomorrow to train #then I'll see when I'll officially start but it will probably be soon!#I've had a very busy few days so I wish I had said I could do my training shift next week #bc they gave the option of this wednesday or next #but I didn't want to turn it into a “thing” by letting too much time pass bc I might get anxious about it #but now I wish I had lmao I'm tired #also forgot I was gonna be home alone with the dog tomorrow #had been looking forward to it tbh #oh wellll #work stuff

About Laurie’s body language around Erik

Laurie usually projects assertiveness and composure.

Have you ever noticed how different his body language is whenever he’s alone with Erik?

From the moment he starts pushing Erik away...

...and every time he actually needs comfort or reassurance...

...Laurie is always physically turning away from Erik, avoiding to look him in the eye.

Just generally avoidant, in fact.

I mean, he’s nervously twiddling the carpet in this scene. He usually hides very well that he’s a walking bundle of nerves and he’s never been that obvious.

He can’t seem to stand looking at the guy but he takes it very badly when Erik’s not looking at him. Talk about moody...

Arms crossed, looking away. His whole attitude screams defensiveness.

The only times he meets Erik’s gaze straight on, he gives him a defiant look. As if he knew he’s losing control on his emotions and needed to reassert himself.

But whenever Erik takes him by surprise, he’s the only recipient of Laurie’s rare moments of raw vulnerability.

Be it moved...

...heartbroken...

...frustrated...

...or hurt.

He may entirely miss the truth behind those meaningful gazes because Laurie’s little dance with him is so frigging confusing.

#Doodles #Tamagotchi #So unfortunately by this time the first lineage has passed #We managed to raise them to the final(ish) TMP! TMP 4 anyhow #Unfortunately I'm of the belief that they do actually weaken from inbreeding lol - maybe not that sophisticated but like #I'm pretty sure the further you get along the more demanding they are so if you want to raise a ''perfect'' lineage it takes some work!#For the first playthrough we got the cute chonky lads - there named Bay and Bug (nicknamed Lord and Lady for funsies)#And then their babies and then /their/ babies lol #At this point I still only had the Osutchi so I only got to see Bug and Pollina in passing but Bug was soooo cuuuuute #Such adorable little designs <3 I might like the stark mostly-black with white detail designs the most haha #The generations ended with the Mesu first and smol tapped out - fair since I was starting to get tired myself #I still raised them for a bit but I eventually failed at getting the final-final evolution while I was on track #I came back and he had died from sickness :( Poor weak immunity lad </3 #But I've restarted again and am playing solo :) I'm on TMP 2 and about to move to 3! With different evolutions!#I've also set the clocks a bit differently so they're not waking me up early anymore lol - it's just nicer all around :)#And! And!! I got a Gen2 rerelease! :D #Another died to sickness >:0 But at least I got them to adulthood first and Gen2s don't reproduce haha #I'm planning to play through as many of the evolutions as I can - I really want the alien lookin' guy! I had yet another long, strenuous day yesterday and didn't finish work until super late and then I couldn't fall asleep until well past 2am cuz I was in so much pain from standing literally all day

#what made it worse was the client I spent most of my day with was a brand new client. and she booked super last minute #so I wasnt mentally prepared for doing a 5 hour color. and her natural hair was already pretty light so I had to foil foil foil. go back.#pull out first couple foils. foil foil foil. go back. pull out the next few.#over and over and over.#and her hair was so fucking long. and so fucking thick.#and after the first hour she wouldn't talk. like I like my silence so I don't fight it much #but every now and then I would try to engage with her. I'd say something and she would straight up ignore me. no acknowledgment.#which makes me feel anxious cuz it's like jesus... does she hate me?? did I piss her off somehow?#even when I finished her hair (it looked fucking amazing no lie. one of my best highlights yet.) she had next to no reaction to it #she was like 'it looks fine. I mean good. it's good.' completely deadpan #I laughed it off and was like yeah it's been a long day girl! but it looks amazinggg on you!!#no response. deep inhale. alright.#whatever tho.#when I did finally get off work I stopped @ bojangles cuz I was lightheaded and hadn't eaten since morning #and when I tell you I almost broke down into tears cuz there were so many people crowding the goddamn pickup area.#and so many bizarre conversations going on. genuinely felt like I was in some form of hell #like my feet hurt. my back hurts. I'm tired. I didn't get the validation I like to have over a 5 hour transformative color.#I'm hungry and there are two elderly women blocking the pickup counter. one is hard of hearing so she keeps yelling HUH???#and the other only speaks in soft baby whispers. that goes as well as you can imagine.#there's a man behind me grilling an employee abt whether or not he goes to church. he starts witnessing to him #and the employee says 'I've never thought about it like that before' no less than 4 times.#there's a child in front of me playing tiktoks @ full volume. and this is all happening simultaneously.#I really considered just leaving without my food but I knew I needed to eat and didnt have anything at home so I stuck it out #was it worth it? no. bojangles honestly sucks these days but what's a girl gonna do.#got home and tried to pass out but nope. tossed and turned all night.#put on hot n cold patches to try to soothe the pain a little. didn't work cuz one pain would be eased a bit and another pain would take over #blahhhhhh #and now. I get to do it all over again! yippeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

thinking of an elderly retired professor robin buckley who moves home and gets a part time job at the hawkins public library and her partner in crime comes along as well, of course, though he's long-retired and has no interest in actual working in a library. he's always just around.

everyone in town's sure they're an old married couple both because they bicker like they are (usually the arguments end when steve pointedly turns off his hearing aids or robin threatens his kneecaps with her cane) and because they are (married in Vegas in '91).

they live in an old house in town and foster cats the way they used to foster kids when they were younger (half the cats are foster fails and they still have contact with most of their foster kids scattered across the country). the house is tastefully kitsch and full of old books. holidays are loud and chaotic gatherings of old friends and their extended families.

they each have had partners here and there throughout the years but nothing lasted or got serious enough to consider divorce. robin's varying university resesrch jobs took them all over the world and of course, Steve followed.

(The year is 2040. Steve doesn't keep up with world news or politics, saying he's retired from that too. Robin jokes that if he was ever in an accident and the paramedics asked him who the current president was, they'd assume he had brain damage.

"But I do have brain damage," he always says, and in polite company, Robin just pats his arm and smiles indulgently.

Otherwise, she says, "oh, don't we know it.")

Robin's diagnosis was the first secret she had kept from Steve in years and years. Unbeknownst to her, it was the first that he kept as well. He knew all along the real reason she had decided to retire and come home.

They lived a quiet and simple life, intending on seeing through their golden years together without incident.

But this was Hawkins.

Neither realized that their quaint suburban neighborhood had been built over the bulldozed remains of a familiar trailer park.
