Bro please can I get “I broke the lock. You were screaming” with nines and our little detective? I don’t really have much of an idea for a story… maybe a case gone wrong and nines insists on staying with her because she’s clearly shaken?!? Idk I love your writing it’s def one of the things I look forward to on my feed <3
Okay SO first things first thank you, Anon, for your super kind words!! You are the sweetest <3
Secondly, I took the liberty of assuming based on the descriptor of "our little detective" that you're talking about the reader from Ruiner, Ruination, so I wrote this fic within that universe (which i hope is alright).
This idea led me to the creation of an offshoot series stemming from Ruiner, Ruination, which I have titled Ruiner, Ruination - Indictus. The point of this series is to highlight little canonical moments that have occurred between Nines and the Reader that went unsaid in the main series (hence the name Indictus, meaning "unsaid").
The creation of this series is super exciting for me because it allows me to write out requests in the Ruiner, Ruination universe AND make them canon without it being too confusing or weird to map out, since I can simply say where each fic takes place in the timeline as things are planned out and published in the original fic.
Anyways, sorry for the rant on the new series, but I hope you enjoy this fic and any upcoming Ruiner, Ruination - Indictus pieces that follow!

Avoidance Tactics (rk900 x reader)
A Ruiner, Ruination - Indictus chapter
Timeline - This fic has a lot to do with the events of the 7th Ruiner, Ruination chapter and takes place after the (currently unpublished, oops) 8th chapter.
Nightmares/sleeping dialogue prompt #2 - "I broke the lock. You were screaming"
Word Count: 3,586
"Could you hover a little bit less ominously? You're really creeping me out."
You muttered under your breath as you passed a wandering gaze over the incident report you had spent the past few hours filling out. Once you were done, you would finally be finished with the process of submitting Nines' work related injury to the DPD's HR department, which you were eager to be done with for good.
It had been two days since your partner's accident, and you had spent nearly every waking hour since avoiding the subject as much as possible by working yourself to the bone.
The unfortunate downside of this was that just 48 hours later there was nothing left for you to do but file away the very incident report you'd been avoiding, and honestly, that had been just as awful as you'd feared it would be.
It required you to go into immense detail pertaining to not only Nines' injuries, but also his reactions to them, the lethality of them, and the traumatic responses that may have occurred as a result of them.
Gavin had filled out his end of the form on the day of the injury back at the DPD with you, and now it was your turn to fill out the individual portion.
And to an extent you hadn't truly expected, the memories were haunting.
Your hands had shaken vigorously above the keyboard as you'd typed out the amount of blue blood that you had gotten on yourself in the process of stopping the bleeding,
the stickiness that lingered between your fingers for hours afterward,
the way it had remained spattered on your clothing even when you could no longer see it,
the scent of it and the way it had stuck to you until multiple showers later.
You had bit back tears when recalling the staticky quality to Nines' voice as his vocal modulator had struggled without the support of his circulatory regulator,
the slightly glazed quality of his eyes,
the way he had groaned in pain as they loaded him into the android care ambulance,
and the trail of blood he had left behind in the process.
It had all been so awful.
And the extent of his injuries had been no small issue either.
Without his stock circulatory bio-component, Nines' thirium pump regulator, and therefore his thirium pump as well, had been put under unnecessary strain for days now, unnecessary strain that would doubtlessly cause a machine like him to falter and shut down sooner than he ever would have otherwise.
And somehow, it was this fact that terrified you the most.
Sure, you had always known that Nines would outlive you,
that fact had never once bothered you,
but the idea that his likely absurdly long life would be cut short, even slightly, by this accident?
It unsettled you that such a thing was even possible.
Years off of the life of a thing that some didn't even view as living at all.
The humanity of it all struck you in the very worst way,
But fortunately you wouldn't really have to dwell on that for long.
"I am not hovering, Detective."
Nines replied coolly from where he stood beside the entryway of his dining room, where you had been sitting for hours as you worked tirelessly to write up your incident report.
"I am simply analyzing you to discern whether or not you are still capable of writing your report in a manner that will meet the Captain's standards."
You rolled your eyes,
"Well that really doesn't matter now, because I just submitted it."
Nines gave a low hum in response, but neglected to say anything more.
You were right though, he had most definitely been hovering, and for quite some time, at that.
He had started making his way throughout the apartment around the time you'd started your write up, and had been careful to ensure that he never stuck around you for too long as he performed his scans, which allowed him to discern whether or not your actions were causing you any emotional strain.
And every time that he had scanned you, the results always came back the same: judging by the amount of cortisol present in your bloodstream, the report was almost assuredly bringing back traumas you were not yet ready to unpack.
And yet, try as he might to think of something he could do, Nines had yet to come up with a single solution.
He was resigned to let you finish, and then, maybe, he might just get you to talk about what was bothering you.
Except now, as you looked over at him for the first time in hours, he could see how exhausted you were, and pushed the thought out of his mind.
It was time to get you to bed.
"Would you like to stay the night, Detective? The spare tooth brush you utilized the other evening is still in the bathroom, and I believe you packed an extra work outfit in your trunk after last time."
You glanced towards your partner quizzically, raising a brow as you closed your laptop,
"Seriously? I thought for sure you'd want me out of your hair by now."
Nines shrugged a bit at your statement before he moved to plug your computer in on the counter where the cord was located, just out of your reach.
"I have no qualms with you sleeping here if it would be easier. It is not as if I require the use of my bed for any particular purpose."
You gave a small laugh at that, but Nines was quick to note that it didn't reach your eyes, despite the distinctive lack of sarcasm found within it.
Your mannerisms were certainly concerning, but he tried not to over analyze for the time being.
You spoke up,
"Yeah, I guess not huh? In that case, if it doesn't bother you I think I might as well just stay over again. It'll give me a little extra sleep, which I could really use right now."
Nines gave a brief nod in response before heading into his bedroom at the end of the hall,
"Alright, in that case I should find you something to wear to sleep for the night. Any preferences?"
Your cheeks were dusted a slight pink as you spoke, and Nines noticed a sudden increase in your body temperature as well, but even so he chose to ignore it in favor of paying more attention to your response instead,
"Uh, I didn't mind the shirt you gave me the other night? If its clean?"
Nines hummed and retreated to the bedroom without another word, leaving you to make your way to the bathroom to get yourself ready.
You sighed as you stared at your face in the mirror, taking note of your haggard and saddened appearance.
God, that report had taken a lot out of you.
Forcing yourself to give a brief smile, you squeezed some tooth paste out onto your tooth brush before beginning the familiar motions that went along with brushing your teeth as you waited for Nines to return.
To your surprise though, by the time you were finished, your partner still had yet to come back from his detour at the end of the hall, so curiously, you opened the bathroom door, only to shriek in surprise when you saw that Nines was standing on the other side, that familiar shirt of his that you had worn the other night in hand.
You placed your palm against your chest as you took a few deep breaths to calm yourself down, shooting your partner a wordless glare as you did so.
"My apologies, Detective, I didn't mean to scare you."
You groaned and rolled your eyes before ultimately choosing to forgive the man in front of you, offering a gentle thanks as you took the shirt from him and re-entered the bathroom, closing the door behind you once more.
You took another deep breath as you looked back into the mirror, the scent of Nines' shirt wafting into your nose as you did so. You were a bit surprised to find that this was oddly soothing, and elected to ignore the comfort that warmed you as a result of it.
Afterward, you told yourself that you just happened to require a rather deep inhale at the very same moment that you were pulling the white undershirt over your head.
You glanced over at yourself in the mirror, legs bare and hair mussed from changing your shirt, and let out a soft sigh as you ran the pad of your pointer finger over the dark circles beneath your eyes.
It was definitely time for bed.
So, with that idea in mind, you placed your hand on the cold doorknob, letting it absorb some of the heat from your palm for a while as you basked in all of the external stimuli that surrounded you, grateful for the proof that the world around you was real at all.
And then, quietly, as if afraid you might be frightened once again, you pulled the bathroom door open, allowing yourself the time to glance up and down either end of the hall before making your way over to the door found at the very end of it, which remained cracked as an invitation for you to enter.
Nines looked up at you in greeting as you pulled the door open further, closing the door to his closet before he made his way over to the bed you were now working to climb on top of, his foot steps quiet and lithe behind you before they halted at the foot of his queen sized bed, which was fitted with the same huge black comforter as last time.
You glanced up at him as you laid your back against the soft pillows found at the head of the bed, struggling to make eye contact as you tried not to think too hard about the comfort his scent had offered you previously.
God, what a weird thing to think about your partner. Maybe you should buy him a cologne so he smelled different or something.
You shook off your thought as Nines brushed imaginary lint from the blanket you were now comfortably laying beneath as he finally spoke,
"Is there anything else you need, Detective?"
He watched you intently as you shook your head, and gave you a few moments afterward to change your mind before he finally started turning around to head back out the door.
"In that case, I'll just be out in the living area. I will remain in light stasis so you won't have to worry about me being hard to wake up if you find that there is something you require my assistance for. I will also be locking the door, as my research has supported that this will help you feel safer. Is that all agreeable with you, Detective?"
You were a bit taken aback by the sudden influx of information, but nodded nonetheless after allowing yourself a few seconds to comprehend what was being said to you,
"Oh uh sure, yeah, that's fine, whatever you want."
Nines gave a slight nod in response before clicking the lock in place, taking a step over to the other side of the door frame before he turned back to look you over once more, his eyes traversing your frame slowly as he did so,
"Sleep well, Little Mouse. I will see you in the morning."
And with that, he was closing the door behind him before you could say a word, leaving you with nothing left to do but drift off to sleep.
And drift off to sleep you did, though it was far from the peaceful slumber you had anticipated.
You fought back a cry of pure anguish as you watched the android, the same AV500 model from the abandoned car factory, shoot Nines for the fifth time that night, this time right between his eyes.
Your partner fell back soundlessly, his body hitting the ground with enough force to make the floor shake as he stared up at you with those unseeing gray-blue eyes of his.
They were so haunting like this, when you could tell they were observing nothing despite their unnatural openness, and you forced yourself to reach over the close them in spite of the blue blood that coated your fingers as you did so.
It was sticky and warm, just as it had been every other time he'd been shot within this hellish nightmare, and you had to stop yourself from vomiting as everything started all over again.
Here you were, for the sixth time, standing in that same room with that same murderous android, and once again, there was nothing you could do to stop him from killing your partner.
You couldn't plead for mercy, tackle the man to the ground, or even shoot him with the gun Nines had provided you with. You had no choice but to simply stand there and watch as he gunned down your partner, your friend again and again.
It was torturous.
And this time, as he shot Nines right in his thirium pump, and you saw that pained and confused look on his face for the sixth time that evening, you couldn't help yourself.
You screamed.
You screamed out of fear, out of frustration, and above all else, out of grief.
Here in this nightmare, you couldn't even tell what was real anymore, and with each passing murder, you could swear that Nines had really died back at that factory, and that this reality, where you simply had to watch and suffer wordlessly, was the real one.
You screamed for so long your throat hurt even within your own dream, raw and painful as you prayed internally for this torture to end, eyes squeezed shut and brimming with tears as you heard distant gunshot after distant gunshot go off before hitting thick plastic over and over again.
You would never be able to forget that sound.
But then, even more distantly than those gunshots, came the sound of Nines' voice, far off and calling out to you as if he were searching aimlessly while alone in the dark.
And without a second thought, you called back.
You awoke gasping for air, throat aching tremendously, and eyes stinging both from your tears and from the much too bright light coming from the lamp to the left of you.
But none of that was nearly as noticeable as the android who was hovering above your form as you laid on your back, his arms poised on either side of your head as he looked down at you with an almost fearful look on his face.
"What the- Nines?"
You croaked out in confusion, glancing over at the previously locked bedroom door as you attempted to make sense about what was going on.
“I broke the lock. You were screaming”
Nines all but panted out, eyes still a bit wild as he slowly began to pull away from the bed, standing at the edge as if afraid you would start screaming all over again the moment he moved.
You squinted your eyes in confusion and in an effort to mitigate the impact the lights were having on your head,
As if he could read your mind, Nines reached over the turned the lamp off without a word.
You sighed softly, noting the way that the air barely managed to leave your mouth due to how shaky you were feeling.
That nightmare had to have been one of the worst you'd ever had.
And the worst part yet? It wasn't going away.
You could still hear the sound of a single strong bullet hitting thick hard plastic, and you could feel the splash of warm thirium against your skin as a result.
It was horrible.
Tears filled your vision as you sat up slightly, bringing your knees to your chest as you tried to make sense of what was going on.
Why couldn't you stop thinking about it? Why were you torturing yourself like this?
You were just about to ask Nines what was wrong with you when he spoke up first,
"May I see your hand, Detective?"
He asked not unkindly, and hesitantly, as if afraid this could somehow go awry, you gave it to him.
You then watched in the dim lighting of the bedroom as your partner raised your hand up to where his thirium pump worked tirelessly within his chest, pumping in a manner that you could feel as it did so.
"I am alive."
He murmured softly, and you briefly wondered how he had known what was bothering you without you saying a word before you simply let it go and pressed your hand harder against the area below his sternum, feeling the evidence of his existence thump strongly against your palm and the pads of your fingers.
You looked up at him then, tears pooling in your eyes and spilling down your cheeks, and asked him for something you had never once expected to throughout the entire duration of your partnership,
"Nines, can you lay here with me?"
You murmured, watching as the android briefly contemplated your request before nodding once in compliance.
The bed dipped slightly as Nines dropped his knee on to the mattress before climbing the rest of the way over to the empty spot beside you, where he sat a bit awkwardly as he awaited your next request.
None of this was familiar to him in the slightest, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not figure out what you might want from him.
You sighed in slight relief as you laid yourself back down, noting the way that Nines watched as you did so before slowly doing the same, his head propped up by the pillows as he laid his palms face down on the mattress at either side of him.
He was very clearly not used to laying down, but you almost found it endearing that he remained so stiff even when in a position that was meant to be relaxing.
How very Nines of him.
Giving a gentle sigh, you turned your body on its side in order to better face your partner, who immediately shifted his gaze towards your own as you spoke, your hand raised ever so slightly towards him as you did so,
"Would you... Do you mind if I feel it again?"
Your cheeks burned as you considered your own request, but before you could back out, Nines shook his head before expressing his response verbally to reassure you,
"Not at all, Detective. I have no issues with you touching me if that is what you require."
You couldn't help but clear your throat upon hearing his words, but slowly lowered your hand onto his chest anyway, feeling yourself relax a bit as you once again felt his thirium pump beat strongly against your palm.
"Does it help you to know that I am well?"
Nines murmured, giving a low hum of interest as you nodded in response.
The room was silent for a few moments before he spoke up again, his voice quiet despite the silence of the room around you.
"I did not realize you had been so deeply impacted by my injuries. I apologize for my ignorance."
You were quick to shake your head upon hearing his words, and raised yourself up onto your forearms to better address him as you spoke,
"Don't apologize. I didn't realize either... I think I was just hoping to ignore it until it went away on its own."
Nines didn't reply, but instead gave a gentle hum of acknowledgment as he further considered your words.
You, on the other hand, took the silence as your queue to try and get back to sleep, something you were more than a little bit eager for after your night of terror and exhaustion.
Even still, you found yourself struggling to drift off, despite the added comfort of Nines' thirium pump as it beat steadily beneath your palm.
And after waiting and waiting for sleep to overtake you for what felt like far too long, you sat up on your knees and faced your partner in the darkness, your cheeks tinted pink as you made your second humiliating request of the night.
"I uh I can't sleep. Can I try something?"
Nines gave a small nod of approval, curiosity evident in his tone as he replied,
"I don't see why not, Little Mouse."
You felt your heart skip a beat at the familiar nickname, and swallowed thickly as you pulled yourself closer to your partner, letting out a nervous sigh as you lowered your torso back down onto the mattress, straightening out your legs beneath you as you let your head fall to Nines' chest, where the sound of his thirium pump working tirelessly within immediately filled your ears.
And with that, even more so than before, you found that your body grew relaxed, your eyes becoming heavy as you allowed your newfound comfort to will you to sleep once more.
Nines remained silent all the while, but watched you as you slowly drifted off to sleep with your head lying atop his chest, soothed by the sound of his artificial heart as he relished in the knowledge of your safety and comfort, even within a presence as dangerous and cold as his own.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by @skyyknights and @traveleorzea ! Forever ago but I'm finally getting around to tackling all these questions. Thank you so much for the tags! :D I decided to answer these questions (mostly) based only on the fics I have posted to AO3 right now. I could have answered some of these questions based on WIP's I haven't posted yet, but I decided to keep it simple. The stupid new format of Tumblr kept screwing up my links, which is part of the reason why it took me so long to post this.
1. How many works do you have on AO3? At the moment, only 43!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 39,225 as of December 30, 2023. I expect this to skyrocket once I eventually post my megafics for Transformers and Fire Emblem. But, it is not this day.
3. What fandoms do you write for? Anything I want to write for 🔥❤️‍🔥🔥The Legend of Zelda, Transformers, Miraculous Ladybug, Fire Emblem, the MCU, Critical Role, and Puss in Boots are the fandoms represented on my AO3 now, but that's only the beginning! I have a few more fics in the works for many other fandoms, including but not limited to Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario, Batfam, Honor Among Thieves, and The Stormlight Archive, that simply aren't ready for AO3 yet. I hope to get them up someday, in the years to come. 4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? From the top and descending, that would be: "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" (Puss in Boots: The Last Wish) I'm genuinely unsurprised this is at the peak. It's held this rank ever since I posted it. Wholesome Team Friendship Fluff, post-movie! "To Bee a Leader" (Transformers: Robots in Disguise 2015) This one always surprises me!!! I never expected it to get so much traction! But I'm so happy it keeps getting hits! I'm so happy people are enjoying / relating to my Prime in Disguise Bumblebee angst + emotional hurt / comfort! "Release Me" (The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom) With the advent of TotK, it is only logical that this shot to the top 5. This is my fic I wrote before the game released, where I theorized: what if the green arm was actually antagonistic? "Watched" (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess) I think the LU fandom finally found this one, because it wasn't this high in the ranks before, lol. It's not technically Linked Universe, but you could certainly read it as either TLoZ or LU, as you prefer. Pre-canon, still in Ordon Village, Link doesn't know it...but he's being watched. "A Name Aptly Chosen" (Bumblebee (2018) / Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) Oh, when did this happen??? When did you hit the top 5? 👀 This is news to me! This makes me so happy!!! This is how I imagine Bumblebee explained to Optimus Prime his name-change from "B-127" to "Bumblebee" ✨
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Most of the time, yes! I love when readers leave comments because I'm excited to hear what in my writing stood out to them. Thus, I try to reply to as many as I can. I hope that if I stay engaged with my readers, they'll feel more comfortable with commenting, whether on my fics or someone else's ✨ That being said, however, when particular comments don't pass the vibe check, I see no need to reward with any response. <3
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Ooh. As of now, that trophy goes to "Where Sorrow Rings" (Fire Emblem: Engage). A close second might be "Out of Tune" (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.) (The even-heavier angst that I write is currently unpublished, because most of it is in my megafics.)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Good question! My first instinct would be Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, but depending on preference, I suppose Welcome Home and Dissonant Echoes could possibly compete with that one.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not much yet (lol), but I figure it'll happen eventually because that's how the Internet works, regrettably. 9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Nope. I don't read it either.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Lol, this is a super funny question for me personally. I crossover so many things, but my best crossovers haven't made it to AO3 yet because I'm still building up the greatness to reach its full potential. I think the only crossover I have right now on AO3 is a Stormlight!AU for TLoZ, The Song of Stormlight. But oh, the crossovers in my mind...! I gotta mention some of them just for fun, in the hopes it'll motivate me to bring them to fruition:
Psych x Transformers Assassin's Creed x Transformers Assassin's Creed x Fire Emblem Fire Emblem x TLoZ Fire Emblem x TLoZ x MCU x MtG x Nintendo-in-general x 신의 x Stormlight Archive x literally anything else I can think of and no I am not joking, this is very much a thing. This is my magnum opus. One of the biggest worlds I'll ever write; one of the biggest projects I've been working on for many years that have already passed, as well as many more years to come.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I hope not. 🗡️🗡️🗡️
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Not that I know of. If someone wanted to translate a fic of mine, I might be truly honored, but I would want them to ask permission first.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Hmm...not seriously. I've collaborated worldbuilding with many people over the years, and done much roleplaying, but I've never co-written a "fic" that wasn't a for-fun "Round Robin" game.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? OoT Zelink. They are my OTP.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? *laughs That could be literally any of my WIP's at any point. I want to finish them all. I plan to finish them all. I hope to finish them all. But, actually finishing them all is dependent upon many factors. I think of ideas faster than I can finish them, and I have many priorities to juggle. I hope I don't abandon my stories, but I make no promises. Even so, I try not to doubt that I'll finish my fics; I strive to keep a positive mindset, because that will lend me the motivation to finish them, even if it takes me years to do so.
16. What are your writing strengths? Dialogue, poetry (I love writing words to a beat even within prose), and coming up with titles, to name a few!
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Finishing
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I think it's delightful when it's executed well, and distracting when it's not. That's why I try to be careful when I attempt to do so. When I do so, I wish to respect the language and the culture the language is a part of; language has much nuance, so I don't just wanna copy-paste something from the Goog's Translate without taking certain linguistic factors into account.
19. First fandom you wrote for? The first fandom I posted for on AO3 was Transformers: Prime. That's not the first fandom I ever wrote for, but I'm not telling you that, Tumblr.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written? This is a cruel question. I could well cheat this question and say "all my fics are my favorite fics I've ever written, because writing is a delight." I would mean that. But, in the spirit of the ask game, I will respond with "Safe With You." 🏍️ Oh, I just realized now I gotta tag people 😂 All rightyyyy, I'm sorry if you've been tagged before, but I'm going to tag @misscrazyfangirl321 @cooking-with-hailstones @clawedandcute and @margindoodles2407 but only if you want to! <3
P.S. This is probably self-explanatory but just in case: if you hop onto this game, please make a new post <3 Thank you in advance, friends!

Get to know your fanfic writer
Thanks @jamilas-pen for the tag!
When did you post your first ever fanfic?
It would have been some time in early 2005 on Fanfiction.net
I’d essentially been writing fanfiction in notebooks in the 90s but before then our computer was in a shared computer room and we had 30 minutes of dial up allowance per sibling per day so I never browsed the internet enough to understand what fanfiction was and that people would want to read things. I was just having fun!
Then Livejournal (and later AO3) happened and the rest, as they say, was history.
First Character(s) you wrote for?
Ash and Misty in Pokémon (largely unpublished and just for fun until 2007) and then my first published fanfic was for Paine and Nooj from Final Fantasy X-2
Main character(s) you’re currently writing for:
I do still love a bit of Pokémon fanfiction. But mainly nowadays I’m writing David/Patrick (Schitt’s Creek), Nick/Charlie (Heartstopper) and, occasionally, Tim/Lucy (The Rookie). I’m also working through a very long (for me) story based on a series of books I read as a child (Animal Ark) so we can add Mandy Hope and James Hunter to the list even if I take massive hiatuses on it.
I have severe ADHD though so I tend to be very flighty with fandoms. The ones that have stuck around are ones that I have essentially trauma bonded myself to (I can date my periods of stress to when a particular piece of media came out because I’m still obsessed with it decades later!)
Character(s) you haven’t written about before but plan on writing about soon:
I’m not sure there are any… I tend to just throw myself in!
EDIT: I never did write the Basil/Polly Fawlty Towers fic I outlined in 2010 while camping at work when I was snowed in. I have also considered writing a Daphne/Niles Frasier fic but have never got round to it. Because I am 50 at heart.
Fandom(s) you’re currently writing for:
Schitt’s Creek
Heartstopper
Pokémon
Animal Ark
Platonic pairing(s) you currently write for:
I don’t tend to write a lot of platonic stuff. I did enjoy recently writing Patrick Brewer & Ronnie. I have also been known to write tiny snippet stories set in the Discworld and they always involve something platonic.
Romantic pairing(s) you currently write for:
Nick/Charlie
David/Patrick
Ash/Misty
James Hunter/Mandy Hope
Your top 3 tags on AO3 (if you post your works on AO3):
Friends to lovers
Canon compliant
Drabble
Your current platform where you post your works:
AO3
Post something from a wip:
I’m stuck on a scene that needs to go between the most recently published one and this one so have a random scene from the Animal Ark fanfiction that I am writing purely for my own enjoyment:
The photo he had landed on was one she hadn't seen in years; she remembered when she flicked through the facebook album when they got home that it hadn't even registered as something she should dwell on, the trip had been full of too much safari excitement. But now… she dwelled. The two of them were sat, questionably close, on a bed in a wood panelled hotel room; his chin propped up on her shoulder as they read a book together- the title had been lost to memory- and his arm braced behind her. She remembered a kid from their travel party, young and excitable like she had once been, taking the photo before either of them realised she was there and it ending up nestled in a photo album that was otherwise posed and purposeful. A little secret anomaly. After, when the flash had made them jump and they broke apart, she remembered the feeling of guilt, of being caught in the act of something that she couldn't quite identify. He hadn't ever come away with them again, life had got busier, and she never told him about the hot, quivering feeling that had overtaken her in the seconds before they were interrupted. How, if he had come just a little closer, she would have closed the gap and kissed him. It would have been a first for both of them, and it would have been clumsy and awkward, but she would have done it without a moment’s hesitation if she hadn't been startled by that camera. She had forgotten about it, truthfully, for a long time, but now the memory of that unfamiliar heat rising up in came flooding back when he stepped closer to her.
And, just in case, another from a little Heartstopper scene I started in lieu of getting up and doing anything productive at 8am this morning:
Charlie’s voice, more like music in his ear than the sounds he had just created, played somewhere nearby. Close, but not close enough until he stepped forward and peered down at Nick. From this angle, the glow of the neon sign cast shadows across the angles of his face; highlighted the fullness of his lips in a way that made Nick feel hot. He looked away, tried to inject something that would sound like humour in to his voice.
“I’m trying!”
“Here, budge up, let me help.”
I always feel awkward about tagging anyone so, I tag anyone who wants to answer!

✨ 2022 ao3 wrapped ✨
thank you for the tag, @pizzaqueen @hexmionegranger @flashyysins @unclewaynemunson! I adore all of you :')
Works Published: 14
Word Count: 78,639 [not including the roughly 50k currently unpublished until January!]
Hits: 52,347 [holy fuCK you guys?!!?!]
Bookmarks: 1,944
Most popular by kudos: and if I get burned, at least we were electrified. explicit, 9.2k. [I loved writing that one so much, I think I was possessed but the response to it was beyond anything I could've imagined for a little Halloween oneshot!]
Most hits: livin' on a prayer, explicit. 17.9k. [totally makes sense because that was my first steddie fic back in August! also my first piece of writing since literally 2013 so again, I'm shocked and awed that it garnered any kinda audience.]
Longest: kind of cheating here because the longest published is also livin' on a prayer, but over the hills and far away is the longest thing I've ever written at 75% done and 50k.
Shortest: hush when no one is around, my dear. teen and up, 1.1k! [a request based on a prompt from @corrodedcoughin where Dustin finds a cute note from Steve to Eddie in a DnD manual.]
Most comments: once again, and if I get burned, at least we were electrified. [but funny enough, a cute fluffy oneshot I wrote isn't it obvious? is very close!]
Fic that made me cry: counting stars (when I look in your eyes), teen and up, 6.3k. [this was my christmas fic for the spicy six challenge and for several reasons, I cried writing it. I really do project onto Eddie so fuckin' much.]
Fic that made me smile: i made this mess with love., explicit, 3.9k. [this was a steddie+ bar fight request from my bestie @bayouteche and I may or may not have included us as little side characters because why the fuck not? writing us into that very small scene really made me laugh!]
Gifts: simple twist of fate. teen and up, 3.3k. [this was for the fruity four halloween gift exchange with the prompt of Steve/Eddie and Robin/Nancy coparenting the party.] also special shoutouts to gifts I've received because they've been INCREDIBLE: Adventures in Flirting by @misspanicdead and boston cream by @fruityfourgalore <3333
Events: other than the spicy six winter fic challenge [which BY THE WAY holy SHIT I'm gonna compile everything into a masterlist at some point soon but you all fuckin' rock, seriously. I didn't think it was gonna take off the way it did and I love every single one of you for making it a thing that made it all the way to TikTok!], I also participated in the fruity four halloween gift exchange [simple twist of fate], @eddieismissing's halloween challenge [requiem for a nightmare.], and the @strangerthingsbigbang which okay, technically not completed until january but whatever, I'm counting it for this year too.
tagging: (I know this has been going around so if you were already tagged or already did it, ignore me <3) @bayouteche @sharpbutsoft @henrystars @kkpwnall @flowercrowngods @withacapitalp @hotcocoaharrington @stevieclaus @solosnail @strawberryspence and literally anyone else, this is me tagging everyone who wants to get in on this :')

Gonna do it in French, for the sentences part. Be prepared !
more fic writer asks!
reblog & your followers can send asks with the questions they’d like you to answer!
the last sentence you wrote
"Comme s’il n’y avait jamais eu le moindre mensonge, comme s’il s’agissait d’une visite de plus, parmi toutes celles qu’il lui avait fait, comme si rien n’avait changé et qu’il ne portait absolument pas encore il y a peu, un masque immaculé qui reposait encore entre ses mains."
Took the most intereting one. Otherwise, it would have been : "Il ne devait pas…." But these two were the last i wrote recently. Will probably write more this night XD
a character whose POV you’re currently exploring
Q!Aypierre. Again. But i'm in a QSMP fanfiction Arc, so....
how you feel about your current WIP
Proud and frustrated at the same time because i don't progress as mauch as i want XD
a story idea you haven’t written yet
One of the list ? Okay.... "When the time come.. " A what if, where Q!Max was about to break with Q!Aypierre, thinking he doesn't need him really but couldn't because realizing he was not well, thinking he will break with him later when he got better but.....He began to see sides of him he doesn't know and fall XDDDD But i have so many, you have no ideas XDDDD Some ghost fics, some soulamte fics, some more casual......
first sentence of the fifth paragraph of an unpublished WIP
"Mais tout cela allait prendre fin dans quelques minutes, n’est-ce pas ?". Comes from an OS about the ending of Purgatory, from Q!Guill point of view.
the word that appears the most in your current draft (wordcounter.net can tell you)
"De " XD Disappointed of the result i must admit XD
your preferred writing fonts
Times New Roman. Not original XDDDD
if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you’d write one for…
One for a fic i wrote before which was a mix between Alice in Wonderland and D gray Man, based on Alice through the looking glass.
start to finish, how long did it take you to write the last fic you posted?
....... I never finished a fanfiction. XDDDD Not because i don't like them, but i m always full of new ideas and some of them must be written down immediately, otherwise, i will loose the words that came XD
what is the longest amount of time you’ve let a draft rest before you finished it?
Months. Maybe, even years XDDD
a WIP you’d like to finish someday
"Les Marques du soleil. " A fic about how a RPZ character (Lenny Johnson ) obtain each one of his tatoos. A spin off of an other fanfiction about him and Kenneth.
a trope you’re really into right now
The clown who hides what he really think behind his smiles and jokes XD
a fandom you’re thinking about writing for
Red Queen. A prequel with Carmadon and Davidson.
where do you get your inspiration?
Absolutely everything around me. XDDDD Can be looking at something and.... Tada XD
favorite weather for writing
Don't really mind XDDD
favorite place to write
On my bed. XDDDD But i wrote in many places before XD
talk about your writing and editing process
Depends. I write often on the impulse, seeing the scenes before write them, immerge myself in the scenes, until i need to go to sleep, when i m in a writing session. Let the words and sometimes how the characters want to act. Sometimes I have ideas which turn out differently as if the characters guide my hands XDDDD I read myself a lot of time for be sure to make less faults XD Sometimes i write my chapters like Verne did (i learned this technic in a litteracy course : writing chapters by ideas you will use in this chapter ). But i use this when i have a good idea and i m afraid to loose how i want to build my chapter XDDD Sometimes i write the feelings the characters feel, to be able to immerge myself in when i take back the writing XDDDD
if you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic
I write mostly on the PC. I may have notes (when i was at university, i wrote on paper and write later on the PC at home) but i m too lazy to go upstairs and search XDDD
the most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic
Was not for fics, but RP. China in the 19 th century with the occidental world and...... poisons XD
in what year did you publish your first fic ?
It was a song fic and it was published in 2012 XD
when did you publish your most recent fic?
In 2023.
do you ever worry about public reaction to what you’re writing? how do you get past that?
Yeah, but most of the time, i have so few person who like and comment about my works, that what i'm anxious about is, is there people who read about my works or/ and don't they comment because they don't like my works ? XD
pick three keywords that describe your writing
Feelings - Hurt and comfort - Slowburn . (you will not see me on silly ideas without plot ).
how do you recharge when you’re not feeling creative?
I play videos games, or i read. I do other things and don't try to force myself, even if sometimes i feel guilty XD
besides writing, what are your other hobbies?
Reading, playing videos games, diamond painting, paintings by numbers.
are you able to write with other people around?
Yes. but if not too noisy and if nobody talk to me XDDDDDD
your favorite part of the writing process
When letting the words come to me, and let the flow of the story guide me and change what i have in mind before.
your least favorite part of the writing process
When it's the 425857515124141 time i read mylsef again and i still find mistakes XDDDD
how easy is it for you to come up with titles?
Most of the time, easy but sometimes really difficult for me. Always in english, though. Easier for me.
share a fic you’re especially proud of
"Des châteaux dans le sable ". Which i will finish one day. A story about a child and an adult who try to save their souls in a war context, in D Gray Man context. Or "Les Marques du soleil".

New WIP Game
Rules: share your unpublished WIPs. No updates to ongoing fics, just new shenanigans : )
Tagged by @athenasparrow … I’m pretty sure because they want the world to know what I’m currently working on and not just them 😉
Revenge Tastes Sweeter - A jily fake dating at Hogwarts story. It’s a gift for @joyseuphoria that’ll probably get posted during this years @jilytoberfest as it’s a ‘sequel’ to something I wrote for one of the 31 prompts during last years fest.
Evans Guide To Quidditch (and Seducing James Potter) - Another jily fic that takes place during Hogwarts years. aka Lily Evans creates a fantasy quidditch tournament. Writing thanks to encouragement from @theresthesnitch @petalstofish and @uncertainwallflower who showed interest when I shared the fic idea a little while back. I’m hoping to publish it at some point during April but no promises.
Untitled - A jily AU story. James is starting up his own social media marketing company and takes on client without quite realising what he’s getting himself into. He thinks it’s just a dance studio but turns up to discover it’s a POLE DANCING studio. Lily is obviously the owner & dance instructor. Still working on a title for this one. Again potentially out in April but likely later. Depends how much writing time I get.
Stripping Back To Basics- My very first collab fic! It’s absolute an absolute jily AU crack fic based on the tv show Naked Attraction. The fic is complete and dropping tomorrow!!!! So watch this space. It’s been so much fun to work with Athena on this. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time.
Summers Where It Began- An old work I’m face lifting and finishing before publishing. It another Jily story that starts in the summer before a year at Hogwarts. James and Sirius decide to go on a motorbike road trip of the UK and end up in Cokeworth. They accidentally come across Lily Evans (it’s her home town after all). This one is a bit of a sad fic for a good chunk and deals with a lot of grief and angst. No ETA on this fic. It’s close to my heart and quite an emotional rollercoaster for me to write and work on as it’s the first fic I ever wrote while I was going through some stuff, but I never finished it and I want to do it justice now.
Not sure who’s been tagged for this already so apologies if you already have! Tagging: @turanga4 @merlins-sequined-hotpants and @allthosedarlings

Fic Writer 20 Questions
I was tagged by @texasdreamer01 😊
1.) How many works do you have on ao3
9, though some of them are only visible if you're logged in.
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
64,757, not a lot but there's nothing wrong with that.
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
Star wars, lots of Star Wars. I think I wrote for Yuri!!! On Ice before? I used to write for Marvel, I did a little bit of Phantom of the Opera (very little), I have some unpublished Avatar the Last Airbender fics, and I am currently writing for Our Flag Means Death 🤭 I hope around depending on what I feel/am hyperfixating on, but ultimately it always comes back to Star Wars.
4.) What are your top five pics by kudos?
Fighting For Your Power - one of my first published Star Wars fics. Definitely not my favorite and also unfinished, a common occurrence with my ever changing brain.
If I Could Hold You For a Minute (Darling, I'd do it Again.) - Codywan. A little hurt comfort thing that takes place after the Rako Hardeen incident
Orbital Decay - another Codywan fic, probably my longest posted fic at this point in time.
And cowboy is his name - a short little bobadin cowboy au that I'm thinking of adding more onto, whether it's little snippets or an actual story is to be seen.
To Be A Good Soldier - a Commander Cody fic, kinda my own little headcanon as to how he got his scar.
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do, it just takes me a while to get there. I'm always a little slow on the up taking. I reply to comments because someone took a brief moment of their time after reading my story to let me know their thoughts, and it means the world to me, so the least I can do is respond to their comments.
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
A fic that no longer is on AO3 🙈 I took it down after a couple years of like....no one reading it, and decided to keep it to myself, like a dragon. The story is hurt comfort without any of the comfort lol. Poor poor Garashir, doomed by the narrative and also me.
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oooooh let me think. Recently they all have happy endings because I myself need one. Uhhhhhh. Probably Orbital Decay. My babies get together very tentatively at the end.
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
Ehhh my fics don't get seen by a wide enough audience I think. The only 'hate' I've ever gotten was someone demanding me tag something, but it wasn't even very hateful so. No I guess not.
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Once upon a long time ago, but I haven't in ages and frankly it makes me uncomfortable to write, always has.
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I don't, it's not something that holds my interest.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of...😳
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
No sir-y
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yes and no? It's a collaborative fic, but I'm not the one writing it, I just had the base idea and give more ideas for the concept and squeal and cry over it.
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
It changes with the tides, but how can I pick one set of my beloveds over another?
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
All of them. Lol uhh I really really wanna get the Codywan AU fic written, but I'm at a point where I currently don't have it in me, I don't have much writing in me at all right now.
16.) What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. I love dialogue. I've also been told, and I have to trust what people tell me, that I'm very descriptive and also know how to write a fight scene.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
Lack of confidence in my skills. Inability to finish what I've started. Making sure I'm keeping people in character, and also I tend to lack in the plot department.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Well, I think so long as you...ugh this one is tricky cause I don't know how to phrase it. I like to write in other languages in very very small doses. A little smattering here and there. But also, I feel like it's important to know the language you're writing in or consult someone who does for accuracy? Idk how to explain it.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Marvel. Marvel. And more Marvel. I had a very long story (with no actual plot) posted to a different site, and then took to writing people's requests for Marvel ship fics for a time.
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
Uhhh idk To Be a Good Soldier? I'm not entirely sure. Maybe it will be the little OFMD fic idea I had, but who knows.
Softly nudging @poibynt @missypup @frostbitebakery and anyone else who might like to do this

1, 13 and 14 for the ask game ❣️
What are you most excited about when you start to write it/publish it?
Hmmmm, this is hard... I don't actually really know...
I mean, I am really going to be interested in what kind of reaction the fic I call MOT's daughter fic, which is my first official published work in my realm of DCLA next gen.
Gastón and Nina's control freak and perfectionist middle daughter Aurora and her best friend, Luna and Matteo's oldest child, easily freaked out and little flighty Stella, find a certain book in the Blake library and may or may not end up time-traveling back 30 years to discover that
Then I am also excited for this years holiday fic where Gastina, Lutteo and Simbar travel to Finland to do some skiing... and someone crashes into a tree and ends up in the hospital
I am also really excited for the rest of the S2 AU... which I have not even fully mapped out yet, but Sharon is gonna try to cause trouble for the Valentes, but this time, they actually have very powerful allies. Gastón's parents are not going to be easily intimidated
Is there any unwritten/unpublished fics you haven't mentioned you're gonna do?
Maybe... There is certainly some ideas I want to explore
Is there any unwritten/unpublished fics you planned on doing, but now you're feeling like you're gonna scrap those ideas?
I can't lose you... The fist chapter of that is out and I will never finish it, since I have moved away form the concept now
Then there is that one draft I wrote of an idea someone else shared on here, which I am not going to continue in it's current form since that idea is theirs and they are allowed to write it on their own. (I am thinking though, that I will keep what I wrote for a modified concept since I am in love with this Gastina romcom trope, just not have it be about Lutteo's wedding or based on Tis the Dam Season... Lutteo's baby shower may or may not enp up ablaze. Whose gonna stop me?)

76 asks: 🏰🧠⌚😎 for whoever you like!
I'm gonna go with Willow as the longest-played of my alts.
Current camp: Willow's newest camp is now on a hill above the old Summerville Lake lakebed, based on a site I wrote about in an unpublished fic. The important part about the site is that it backs onto an old bunker, which Willow and Beckett are able to use as an addition to the living quarters. (Which is one of the shelters.)
So they've got a cabin/house and then the shelter in the back, which gives them a lot of space and privacy. I hate to have Beckett be out in the rain with his kiosk, so I always build that into the camp.:)
SPECIAL stats, perks, and mutations: Willow was originally going to be a charisma/intelligence build, but at launch, there was essentially no reason to use the charisma stat, unless you interacted with other players, which I didn't. So I rebuilt him as a luck build, which honestly explains a lot more stuff in his story :) He's now primarily Luck/Agility/Intelligence, plus some legendary perks.
Speaking of perks, just about all my characters end up with these:
Aquaboy, everything that reduces weight of stuff, Adamantium Skeleton, Starched Genes, Super Duper, First Aid, Action Boy, Born Survivor, Marathoner, that perk that removes radiation during sunlight hours, and more. Oh, and Lone Wanderer since I usually play solo. I know I could swap builds, but I never ended up doing it.
Mutations: every character of mine ends up with: Speed Demon, Healing Factor, Marsupial, Bird Bones. Willow has others that I don't dare try to remove because which ones get removed is random, which seemed neat at the time but now I could stand to lose, like Plague Walker.
How old are they and were they born in the Vault?: Willow is 24ish and was born in Vault 76a. Which is a good time to point out that because of the multiple "waves" of Vault Dwellers coming out, with Appalachia in different states of plague / depopulation / repopulation, @the-lastcall said that there should be multiple Vault 76s. Willow's obviously from 76a, which had the least supplies and was just kicked out the door. Will and Rowan Dane come from 76b which had the easiest time (they got supplies and the wasteland isn't quite as deadly as when Willow started). This is my headcanon now about the Vaults in this game :)
So Willow is one of the first wave of Dwellers released, from his Vault; he didn't even know that other Vault 76s existed until those from 76b started appearing, looking shell-shocked at this world and everything trying to kill them and so on.
(Technically, he was 22 when he left the Vault, but he's been out for a few years now.)
His experience with Beckett's quest: I will be first to admit that Beckett's quests are a little awkward at times, and I wish the relationship aspect was better than it is, but at least it's something. I have fics on AO3 about these two. I also miss the NPCs that were introduced during Beckett's storylines. We should be able to have Beckett's friends and brother show up randomly at our camp after his questline is done.
Thank you for the asks, anon! :D

👀 👩‍🏭 💖
👀 Do you have any WIPs that you would never let see the light of day? If yes, what are they about?
First DC fanfic I wrote, which I wrote when I had just gotten into batfam and I had only read like the first 12 issues of nightwing (1996), some birds of prey (1998) and Robin: Son of Batman. Based off the crossover with amensiac bruce in R:SoB I thought that Damian should get to interact with amnesiac Bruce. It totally doesn’t fit in my current timeline because it doesn’t take into account anything else going on at the time and I would recharacterize some people. I might revisit the idea later but it would be way different
👩‍🏭 If one of your fics was going to get you arrested, which one and why?
probably one of the ones that involves googling “crime thing in detail” so i can explain it. i know recently for an (as of yet unpublished) fic I was googling how to break open windows because I couldn’t describe it.
💖 What do you like most about your own writing?
hmm this is going to be hard because I am very egotistical :P
I’ll say my dedication to multiple POVs and making sure to get the characters different from each other, including characters who aren’t my fave I’ll still put a lot of effort in and try to understand why their fans do like them so they come across as authentic.

Tag Game
I was tagged by the fantastic and wonderful @asteria-argo ! Thank you for the tag my love! This was a really fun one!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
24
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 52,317
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I tend to fall into hyper fixations with things and write only about what I'm into at that moment so currently Ted Lasso, but I have written for several other things, Outer Banks, Derry Girls and the Umbrella Academy being the biggest ones
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The more you know - Umbrella Academy
We'll talk about it tomorrow - Ted Lasso
With a Whisper of Hope - Umbrella Academy In The End - Umbrella Academy God the kid looks so sad - Ted Lasso
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! Sometimes they get away from me if life gets busy and I forget (Sorry!) but I do really do try too even if its just a thank you
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Between Space - The Umbrella Academy It was based on a prompt of what if Five is the cause of the apocalypse and him basically erasing his existence to save everyone else
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hmm I mean generally I try to wrap things up nice and neat with a big bow so they mostly have happy endings. Maybe we'll just say In the middle of the night because its a fluffy one shot where Jamie gets a cuddle and fun fact its also a fanfic of a fanfic kudos to @asteria-argo who's brilliant fic Counting Sheep inspired it
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not really, I don't have a massive audience so my comments are usually very lovely
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I don't! Nothing again it just not something I can see myself writing, but hey never say never!
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
No I don’t! I have to 100% agree with Asteria on this one crossovers annoy the shit out of me for some reason
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, and while I'm not actively against it I don't know how that would go I'm pretty set on my theories and plans etc etc 14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I'm not really a massive shipper, found family is more my vibe
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I don't start things and leave them unfinished, it would really stress me out to do that lol its why I write a lot of one shots
16. What are your writing strengths?
You know what? I honestly don't know
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
CONCENTRATING! Oh my gosh! If I could actually fucking concentrate guys I would be churning out novel length fics like you wouldn't believe! I'm writing in my head all day long but the second I sit down to physically write I cannot focus for the life of me
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I am a native English speaker and its my only language as much as I would love to learn another one, so except for maybe one or two words to keep a character IN character for which I would use google, then I'd steer clear.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Probably Teen wolf? Lol
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
ooooh is it shameless self promo to say the one I'm currently writing is probably my favourite? Its unpublished as of yet but its for Ted Lasso and its called We're all waving flags and yeah I'm finding the writing process for it very fun and cathartic
I'm always terrible and knowing who has and hasn't been tagged so my bad if you have already been but I'll tag the lovely @sighonaraa

For the fic writer ask 2, 9, 15 and 27
Thank you so much for the ask! 🥰
2. How many fics did you work on this year? (They don't have to be finished or published!)
This one requires a surprisingly complicated answer! For published, I have 18 fics on my main account (though one of those was really written the previous year and just edited and published in 2023, and another one only had one small chapter that was 2023, while most of it was 2022), and 1 on my alt account. For unpublished, I wrote a fic for a zine in 2023, but it's not public yet. Also, I want to add some scenes I had to cut to that one before publishing, but hopefully it will be up on AO3 sometime this year.
Now for fics I've worked on… This one is a bit harder because I have 60+ wips in all different stages of progress, so I can only really give an estimate. I'd say it's approximately 52. This is only counting the ones I've done some amount of work on this year (more than just coming up with the plot bunny), like planning/outlining, notes/summary, or writing bits of prose/dialogue.
9. What fic meant the most to you to write?
I'm not sure how much had meaning. Like there are ones that I enjoyed writing and was happy with the end result, but not sure what they would mean to me. Probably the one I wrote that I put the most of myself in would be After All This Time.
A lot of the mental health and depression stuff in there is based off my personal experience, as well as those of people I've known. And the alcoholism aspect, as well as struggling with being a single parent and financial stuff/maintaining a home and food security, while not directly experienced myself, was heavily influenced and referenced from an ongoing experience with a previous long-term relationship I was in.
15. Rec a fic you wrote or posted in 2023
It's currently unfinished (2/7 chapters published), but I wanted to rec my fic, A Demon's Justice, since I'm very happy with what's been published so far, and I'm so excited to share everything I have planned. It's been about a year since I first had the concept of this fic, and it's been growing in scope since then.
A Demon’s Justice
At a critical juncture in State v. Wright, Maya fails to come into her powers, and as a result, Phoenix is found guilty of his mentor's murder. Months later, Miles Edgeworth, a prosecutor with a perfect record who put his former best friend behind bars, now finds himself accused of a murder he did not commit.

27. Did you do anything special to celebrate finishing a fic?
I don't think I've done anything special, really. Not that I can recall, at least. Most of my fics are written on deadlines (that I usually procrastinate on and don't finish until I'm way too close to), so my celebration is usually just the sense of accomplishment and decreasing my stress level now that it's done.

In 2021 I got really into reading books.
One of my favorite aspects of it was getting to see my stats at the end of the year. Something about seeing it all in neat little charts and graphs was really satisfying to me. In 2022 I got back into fan fiction and was annoyed at the lack of anything similar.
I set out this year to rectify that for myself.
Starting with a Notion that eventually moved over to Sheets with an attached form to fill out, I tracked each and every fic I read this year, all 168 of them.
The above images are the results.
(Q&A + Fic Recs under the cut)
Q&A Time - Readers Addition
While looking around to see what other fic readers included on their AO3 Unwraps I stumbled across this fun questionnaire ask box meme. I figured instead of posting and waiting for questions I’d just answer them because I really wanted to.
You can check out the original post of questions by clicking here!
Fic you clicked on the most times this year?
That would be Kings and Pawns by HittoSama. Now there are some caveats to this. First, it was the fic I was reading while building my first fic tracker over on Notion. While building it and then again when building it in Sheets, I had to go copy the link a good few times. It’s also a pretty long fic and I was reading it before I was downloading to read them in Books. Between reading on different devices, as well as going back to link it on a few rec lists I made this year for friends….it racked up the hits from me! But it is a great fic, wonderfully written, and has some of the best Shikamaru characterization I’ve come across so you should all go check it out.
First fic you clicked on this year?
Also Kings and Pawns. It was my first read of the year.
Your most read Fandom this year?
Naruto. It’s actually the only fandom I’ve read this year. I have plans to branch out in 2024 but we’ll see how that goes.
Your most read pairing this year?
Kakashi Hatake / Sasuke Uchiha. I’ve read 72 works for them this year.
Most popular fic by hits you read this year?
In Good Company by Weialala reigns supreme with over 404,000 hits.
Your personal favorite fic you read this year?
In Good Company and its sequel Ragnarǫkr by Weialala were both standouts this year that I ended up rereading three times.
Most recent fic you clicked on?
Technically Ragnarǫkr as I needed to fetch the spelling but not counting stuff looked up for this challenge, last clicked on fic would be The Blood-Soaked Road to Paradise by Renyanen. I’ve not read it yet but I was compiling my tbr for 2024 and it’s one I’m looking forward to checking out.
Highest word count fic you read this year?
An unpublished story I co-wrote with my friend. It comes in at 643,478 words and is based on the concept of Itachi taking Sasuke with him to the Akatsuki. It’s my favorite thing and honestly very self indulgent and unlikely to ever see the light of day. Ten of ten recommend every fic writer to have one of these.
Shout out an incomplete fic you read this year?
From This Earth by Embers. I’m really looking forward to reading more of it in the future!
Oldest fic you read this year?
I’m pretty sure nothing else I read beats In Good Company by Weialala. She began writing it over on FF.Net back in 2008. It’s sequel is currently incomplete and I await the day she returns to finish it. 🙏🏻
That more or less wraps us up here!
As a final section, as I take my leave, I want to give a small recommendation list based on my favorite fics I read this year. Many of these were mentioned above in the questions and images, some of them weren’t but still come highly recced from me. Enjoy!
The Rec List (in no particular order):
Kings and Pawns by HittoSama Sharingan Rising Series (In Good Company / Ragnarǫkr) by Weialala Wild Things by TheAdventuresOf From This Earth by Embers Eye to Eye by Embers Scarlet Ink and Paper Swords by Renyanen Mosaic Eyes by BitchBot3000 Hold Your head Up and Run by TakaGang Why Storms Are Named After People by Naava

Hi! For the Writer ask meme - 1, 5, 13, 21 And for the Fanfic ask game - B, G, S, W
Hi! Thanks so much for the ask Nonnie, I know it's been ages since this arrived in my ask box, sorry about that!
Keep reading added because the answers to these questions are fairly detailed...
My current WIP is a series based off of a one shot I wrote about Palpatine being a total creep and manipulating Anakin. It was pretty well received so it spawned something I've been working on for almost a year now. So far it stands at 4 unpublished works (3 of which I have written something for), about the galaxy being saved by... I am gonna have to say 'the power of friendship' as Anakin becomes closer to Rex, then the 501st, and he becomes much more mentally healthy and less manipulatable. Palpatine is pretty pissed about this.
It's not gonna be published for a while due to life commitments meaning my writing schedule is super super sporadic :(
5. Top 5 formative books?
Bears in the Night by Jan and Stan Berenstein - I wrote my first fic based off of this at six years old, it then went off on a tangent, the bears were only relevant in my first 'book', and I spawned many OCs that became fully fledged characters in their own right, and some of those OCs are even present in my writing today ^^
The famous 5 by Enid Blyton - I can't read those books now but they had an immense impact on my writing as a kid and also the character of George had the side effect of me being very pro trans rights at nine years old (years before I had heard of the term 'trans')
The Declaration by Gemma Malley - I read this too young and was pretty affected by it but wow was this a very good book and a good series.
A Little Princess by Frances Hogston Burnett - this really spoke to me and affected how i think about the world. The kindness and hope and imagination prevalent throughout the book was very important to me.
The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett - introduced me to the world of Terry Pratchett at nine years old. I dressed up as Tiffany on world book day and came to school with an actual frying pan in an apron my mum made me so that I could fight monsters with it.
13. Describe your writing process
I generally don't know the ending of a fic when I begin it, but as I get into it I will map out the key events. I will normally bullet point key events I need to write in a chapter. If I am really struggling to write I will just write all the dialogue and then go back and edit all the description etc. around the points of dialogue.
I used to publish a new chapter as soon as I had written it, but given how frantic my life is I am now trying to write a whole fic before I do so, to avoid any repeats of A Quiet Normal Life, which I wrote many chapters to, and then haven't touched in 2 or 3 years because stuff happened, I lost momentum, and was hit by writers block.
21. What aspect of your writing are you most proud of?
I am really not sure to be honest! It tends to vary between fandom and genre. Normally, it is characterisation and the ability to get into characters' heads, but when I write certain characters I just kinda shrug and hope the characterisation is not too OOC as I have no idea!
B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
Normally, just certain aspects of what I write inspired by feelings I have about things (eg. I realised a bit into writing 'The Monster Under the Bed' that I was pulling Loki's fear of being discovered as a Frost Giant from my fear of losing everyone due to my sexuality). I wrote 'Merit' due to personal experience tho, one of my lecturers was awful to me, so I shoved all of my feelings onto Marisa and then made her experience worse, for catharsis.
G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
I try to write from start to finish, otherwise things are less likely to get finished, but I will write scenes out of order if i am inspired or am really struggling with a scene.
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
Hurt/comfort, angst ^^
W: Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones? I will do either, I don't think I have ever received prompts, but I would be very happy to!
