There was a deafening silence between the two after Arthur finished telling his... and his brother's story. Toni not able to let a word out for what seemed an eternity.

"... So... that is all" finally Arthur broke the silence "Of course I recognized Peter the moment I saw it... but I knew he wouldn't know me- he was too young when... that, happened." he continued to look down, as if the fish or rocks under were very interesting.

Again the silence. It seemed Tino was really taking his time to process it... and really, he couldn't blame him.

"W-Wait a moment-" aftera couple more minutes, the older finally spoke "You- you two... went through all of that-!? And you... y-you have been all alone since then...?"

"Well... not alone-" Arthur sighed "A pair of shark mermen looked after me... there are another mers, and even kind humans that have made sure am alright and... well, have company" a little smile appeared on his face thinking about all of them "... I'm quite grateful they were there... I don't know what could've happened to me if they weren't."

"Oh, no no- I don't even want to think about it-" Tino put his hands over his face, trying to remove the awful image off his head "... w-when... when we found Peter...

Like that... all alone, hurt, so small... W-We knew we couldn't leave him there- we had to take him... M-Maybe if we had stayed and search a bit more- we could've found you? O-Or your brother, your mother- anyone-"

"Don't" Arthur had to stop him there "... Please don't feel guilty. You... you and Bewarld saved Peter, took him in and cared for him as yours... I could never be more thankful for doing that for us."

His smile turned a bit sadder though "I will admit, I... planned to take Peter back with me, whatever way it was... but now I realize I can't- you are his family now... n-not me..." he let out a shaky sigh, already starting to tear up "... I-I don't want to burst that happy bubble he's in- he doesn't deserve it... and if I have to keep this secret from him for a while more... then I accept it."

Tino stared at the boy infront of him surprised by his words. He was speechless once again, not sure of what to say...

So instead he reached for Arthur.

"... you are such a loving brother, Arthur... but also so selfless." He chuckled softly "It's very brave of you to come all this way- and then... give up the chance to take your brother with you..." He separated from the octopus and smiled warmly.

"I... may not agree fully on not telling Peter who you are right now, but, I will respect your decision. Be asured though- you are more than welcome here whenever you want to come, to stay... we will never deny you being with Peter, okay? I promise."

It was now Arthur's turn to stare back at Tino as he processed the words... which in the end did nothing but to make him smile widely, nodding "Y-Yes... understood- thank you... thank you so much"

"You have nothing to thank me for... We will talk with Bewarld later, alright? Now, have some food so you can go play outside for a bit before it gets dark."

He sounded so motherly saying that...

'It reminds me of her... can guess that's why Peter attached to him easily...'

"Yeah... yeah, I will..." And took a bite of his fish. The task was almost done, at last...

now i've watched a fair amount of d&d i've started to pick up on the differences between dm style i think

like brennan IS all the bad guys. every game he dms is brennan vs the players. he makes npcs and battles that make his friends throw things at him and he smirks the whole time. he makes them tell him their worst fears and then he makes them do it. and it's awful and amazing and really funny

matt IS exandria. his characters and battles never feel written or constructed, they just feel like things that already existed in the world. it's all about verisimilitude with him, and he's amazing at it. he tends to fade into the background and let the players react to the story and it makes everything he does incredibly cinematic

aabria dms like she's just another player at the table reacting to the story, right up until someone gets lulled into a false sense of security and tries to fool around and THEN she throws a curveball by making them deal with the consequences of their choices. she's like oh you think that's funny?? then i'm about to be hilarious, bitch. and she keeps getting away with it bc she's just that good!

basically, brennan's an evil bastard, matt's the world, and aabria's the queen of consequences

(also change belief)#as for how The Truth Come Out... this is what i mean by The Isabeau Torment Nexus(tm). which is that i think... isiloop should almost occur #BEFORE isabeau knows who loop is. he's just genuinely charmed by them eventually and tries to close the open end of the polycule #which FREAKS LOOP THE FUCK OUT because thats just too genuinely sick and wrong. and obviously w emotions high its not a great confrontation #ANYWAY told u i had more thoughts. if i were normal itd be a text post but.

Dp x dc AU - If the Internation Space Station orbits the Earth 16 times a day, then so does the Watchtower.

Danny’s on track to move out of his parent’s house and move to Gotham for college (He swears that Sam bribed the board to let him in- and she wasn’t even going to that university!) but the dorms don’t open for another three days and he cannot wait to escape. Seeing his parents try to perfect yet another weapon to use against him while he changed out the ecto filters on the portal was too much. He’s completely over the idea of staying when he already has everything packed and ready to go.

The solution? Take all his boxes into his haunt in the Ghost Zone, leave them there and then spend some time in camping in space. He’s already explored the Infinite Realms enough to be bored of it for a minute (not to mention he wants to avoid getting more ‘favors’ to do from Clockwork) and hell, he just wants to see some stars.

He grabs his tent, a sleeping bag and all the food and things he could need and brings it into the atmosphere with him. Keeping it all tethered to him, Danny stays in a fixed position above Gotham (Cause that’s where he’s going next, duh) and treats himself to some quality Me-time.

Only problem is that several times a day he has to make himself intangible while he lets satellites and things pass through. Easy enough and honestly pretty interesting to observe as a wannabe engineering student.

He doesn’t know when exactly it happened the first time- but it turns out the Heroes of Earth all congregated in a satelite office building? It was bigger than the ISS! What the heck!?

Going intangible but not invisible, the JL spot Danny and are incredibly confused how an ‘Alien’ teen just happens to appear in their meeting rooms disappearing at the rate (slowly but surely) of the Watchtower moving through space. Was that camping gear? How was he roasting a marshmallow? Did propane camping stoves even work in space??

16 times a day they get the opportunity to ask Danny a few questions. He mostly ignores them or gives them joke answers. Eventually Martian Manhunter phases through the Watchtower to join him.

They talk about how hard transition periods in life can be and having strained relationships with family. J’ohn returns to the watchtower on its next cycle and reports that the kid is just fine, being an adult is just a hard thing to do.
