Looking back on Twilight criticism is so funny because mainstream crit (that I saw anyway) was all focused on "Ew girls like it" when literally the ENTIRE BOOK NEEDS CRITICISM IT STARTS WITH A CREEPY DUDE WATCHING A GIRL WHILE SHE SLEEPS AND WHEN SOMEONE ASKS "How much racism will Smeyer add?" SHE ANSWERED "Yes."
Exactlyyy. White ppl will like hide behind any type of marginalization they face (like misogyny, homophobia, etc) when they wanna dodge either being accused of racism, or things they like that are racist & being critisizes for that racism, even when said marginalization has nothing to do with it.
Twilight itself is an extremely misogynistic book, where it places White women as the ultimate standard of femininity, particular thin rich White women who are stay at home moms, home makers, etc, and places all other women as not as good or "pure" as them. Bella at 17 literally looks after her dad and cooks and cleans for him. Leah is demonized as a Native woman for literally no reason & gets used as a punching bag throughout the film & books. Abortion is seen as "murder", even when the fetus is slowly killing the mother & clawing its way out of her. There's more obvi but those are just a few examples.
But even if you ignore the racism or misogyny (which you shouldn't) it also romantisizes abuse, what with Edward fitting ALL "signs that your partner is abusive" ticks.
If you ignore the romantisization of abuse, it's also classist: the Cullens are upheld as this angelic set if vampires who are literally billionaires, and could go any fucking place in the world, but they decide to go to the one place they agreed not to go near (due to a treaty with the Quileute Forks) & where they were literally already colonizers who disrupted & harmed the Native population & where they're a threat to the Quileute & they go there for no reason. Edward replaces Bella's old car that her dad & Jacob had fixed up for her (which she had already stated to adore, one reason being that she has an interest in old things) with a sports car, purely to one up Jacob. They all drive various sports cars & Alice routinely wears & throws out clothes. They're held up to this romantisized standard against Bella & the Quileute tribe's middle to lower class status, & this is meant to be another point of why Edward is supposedly better than Jacob (because he is rich).
If you ignore the classism, racism, & misogyny then there's also the weird Mormon ideology literally baked into the entire series, & it can be considered essentially Mormon propaganda. The Native characters are demonized, obviously (considering Mormons literally think Native people are evil). None of the vampires have tattoos but all the werewolves do, & according to the lore, any and all tattoos get removed after becoming a vampire (which is what Mormons believe happens to tattoos in their afterlife). In the books, any poc who become vampires become pale regardless of their skin color in life, & again, this is what Mormons believe happens to poc who become Mormons & enter the afterlife. The whole "no sex before marriage" thing & the abortion thing. Bella & a lot of the other non-demonized female characters dress pretty conservatively, & Edward finds a full length skirt sexy & "indecent". The (white) vampires are repeatedly compared to "angels" & called beautiful & perfect. Other non Christian, non-Mormon religions (& the people that belong to/practice them) in the series are routinely demonized & mocked. Vampirism, but namely for the White characters, is literally an allegory for White Mormons in heaven.
If you ignore all the above and a bunch of other bigoted & weird shit in the series that I haven't yet mentioned, then it's genuinely just very dumb & badly written with stupid logic. Bella thinks it's weird how the Cullens all have really old names when HER name is literally "Isabella Swan". The Cullens literally hate the Quileute & "werewolves" for no fucking reason since they literally trespassed on Quileute land as colonizers in the 1800s, & it's already been established that the shapeshifters aren't even actually real werewolves in the lore so therefore they have no inherent quarrel with them based on the vampire vs werewolves thing, so they just hate them for no reason. The vampires keep going to high school & learning the same shit over and over again when they could be going to COLLEGE or idk doing something productive. Jasper apparently has to teach the Natives how to fight so obviously Smeyer has never seen a rez fight. Jasper is considered a "newborn" even though he was literally turned in the 1860s. Bella gave her kid the dumbest name ever. Ppl have been memeing & making fun of this series since it came out, & I feel like it's hypocritical for twilight fans to both say "ppl only hated it because girls liked it but its actually really good!" While also saying they find it hilarious even the actors made fun of it & hated making it because of its many faults (like so you agree? People made fun of it even back then?) And while also saying they "enjoy it critically" meaning. They admit there's something wrong with it, but still get mad when ppl critisize it.

TRGB as classic horror lit
A continuation of this post I made a bit ago. This is just a couple short little plot synopsis/ideas along with some extra notes for possible TRGB episodes based around classic horror stories. They're all a little goofy to make them work as actual episodes for the cartoon, but if these inspire you in anyway, silly or angsty, I am all for it. So uhh enjoy under the cut :]
Egon Spengler in.....
The Stange Case of Dr. Spengler and Mr. Fright
Plot Synopsis:
Lately Egon has been disappearing in the night, coming back in the mornings tired and disheveled. Despite arguments that he's fine, his friends decide an investigation is in order. As well, they decide to figure out if it has anything to do with the appearance of a certain "Mr. Fright".
Notes: I think Mr. Fright should look almost exactly like Egon but with some minor differences (specifically in my mind his hair would be black and possibly a liquid and i like to imagine it constantly dripping, batim style). There should also absolutely be a big dramatic reveal of them being the same person. As much as I would enjoy this ep following more closely to the actual plot of/dynamic between Jekyll and Hyde, I don't wanna throw Egon's morals into question.
Peter Venkman in.....
Venk-ula!
Plot Synopsis:
During a call, Peter is attacked by a vampire. Not wanting to worry his friends, he decides to keep it a secret. Afterall he's feeling just fine. But when his teeth start to sharpen and he develops a thirst for blood, running away seems the best option. It's up to his friends to get him back, and to try and find a cure.
Notes: On one hand, I like to imagine that the vampire bite is in a spot that's much less conspicuous. On the other hand, it takes away the drama. I like to think this ep has a similar-ish premise to the episode "Very Beast Friends" but instesd of Peter and Ray fighting, it's Peter almost killing his friends but his love for them allows him to control himself. (I also think it'd be very homoerotic)
Ray Stanz in.....
Dr. Stanz's Monster
Plot Synopsis:
While doing some spring cleaning, Ray finds a box of his childhood belongings. Stuffed animals, toys, comics, books, and a childhood favorite of his...Frankenstein. Deciding to revisit the story, Ray gets some inspiration for a new project. For science of course! But for the sake of science, how far is too far?
Notes: Ray creates a monster send tweet. I wanted to add some sort of supernatural element to make Ray a little fucked up and evil, but I couldn't quite figure out a way to do so. Maybe his book is possessed or something, or maybe he's just really obsessive about his creations.
Winston Zeddemore in.....
The Phantom brought the Opera
Plot Synopsis:
Winston decides to rekindle an old passion of his, but one audition and a cursed music book later, and a musical curse is placed upon the city of New York. It's up to the Ghostbusters to find a way to stop it. And to think, Winston's going to have to miss his callback.
Notes: Obligatory musical episode??? gang I'm gonna be so real I know literally nothing about Phantom so if any of yall have better plot ideas I'm all ears. Also this was kinda unintentionally inspired by the song 'touching old magic' from The Halloween Door in season 5, let's be real Winston's va can sing. Also I couldn't think of a good pun for the title sorry guys.

ALRIGHT I'M MAKING THE POLL!
For my next liveblog, of anime, to run alongside Kamen Rider Ryuki, I'm presentiiiing.... 12 options!
Blue Gender's a scifi with some horror and with mechs, and from what I've heard it has a very cool woman, a loserman with weird cancer disease, violence, and crabs.
Mou Ippon is a show about a girls' judo club, and it would be the first sports anime I finish if I put it on! Got recommended it for being a non-horny girls sport anime, i like the designs, its got rivalries, and ive heard its underrated!
Asteroid In Love is vaguely a yuri, it's got an astronomical theme, I can never locate the manga for it, and I rarely watch slice of life shows so it also sems like a change of pace. Might not be too fun to liveblog tho?
MoNoNoKe is a show ive heard is fucking insane. About a medicine seller who hunts yokai with it all being morally ambiguous, wildly visual, and deliberately bizarre. Seems very fun to blog and watch, though maybe disorienting
SSSS Gridman is the only thing Tsubaraya has that isn't ultraman, and it has evil yuri megatron or so I've heard. Mech show with characters! got kaiju! comes highly recced.
Zetman seems to be both tokusatsu-y and stupidly edgy. That's al I know, that and the title character looks like an utter dingus!
Ex-Arm is a trainwreck masquerading as a yuri masquerading as a cyberpunk masquerding as a trainwreck masquerading as pornography. Few things have looked more funnybad on visuals alone. Also Zero Berzerker seems to be there
Agatha Christie's Great Detectives is an old show about both Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot occurring at the same time. Seems to be an interesting way to connect two series of mysteries. Also there is a bird and a girl
Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna is a mystery show with a beautifully grating OP about some sort of murder, some people called Blade Children, a class reporter hounding a protagonist to see if he's a murderer maybe?? There appears to be a kaworu and a misato. It compels me
Air is about a puppeteer searching for a Winged Maiden and I have absolutely no clue what it's doing in my list. Look at this cool art i found
Ajin is a 3d grimdark? anime about zombies slash Orphnochs being hunted by the government and its got horror and gore. and ghost?
Canaan is a TYPE-MOON work, though doesn't seem to be in the Fateverse or the Tsukihimeniversity, it has mercenaries, violence, hopefully yuri, and even more hopefully the Nasu Dialogue we all know and love.
Regardless! These are the choices for the anime to stand alongside Kamen Rider Ryuki in liveblogs once i'm done with Vampire Miyu!

People's blood is a very sacred thing. In many religions, it's often considered the life of a human. Yet, it's something vampires need for sustenance. Most consider vegan diets, and some just become full on killers when too unregulated.
Stephanie Lauter is unfortunately, a vampire. From what she overhears, her dad made some deal with eldritch gods, and that's why she's here. Solomon Lauter hates his daughter, but she hates him back too. However, to not expose this secret to the public, he helps get Steph's cravings in check by supplying her with animal blood.
Yet, it's never a filling meal. She hasn't had a proper, enriching, bit of human blood in such a long time. Not since middle school. But never in a million years did she expect to drink the blood of the pastor's daughter, Grace Chasity.
Nor did she expect how delicious the blood would be.

Every other day, Steph spends her nights at the old Waylon Hall. Hearing all the rumors about the place, it doesn't seem so bad. It's just really fucking abandoned and creepy. Nonetheless, a few candles and fairy lights powered by battery packs make the house look a lot less evil.
This night, she decided to bring more and more of her belongings into the living room. Yeesh, it's a damn mess. She swept the floor with an old broom she found in a janitorial closet, suited most likely for a maid. The more Steph cleaned up the hall, the more she liked that it became kind of her own hideaway. A very eerie home away from home.
After a few hours of just generally cleaning and decorating the main room, she smiled. For once her life, Stephanie Lauter had made something she was proud of. How fun.
Suddenly, she heard an opening from the front door.
For the months she had spent going here, no one had dare even approach the Hall's grounds. So who the fuck seems brave enough to wander in the most "haunted" place in all of Hatchetfield?
Who the fuck..
Steph had hid in some big closet in the room, and took a look at the girl trespassing in her space. In which she was also trespassing in. The girl wore a light blue sweater and a white button up underneath. She wore a brown skirt, white socks and Black Mary Janes. She had rolled up the sleeves of both the button up and the sweater and had her hair in a side part.
Look, she was already in a silk dress meant for sleeping, and she did not want to be disturbed by some girl. However, something just... attracted her. Steph sniffed something good. Better than the "wagyu cow blood" her dad ended up getting to satisfy the urges. Shit, this came from the girl, didn't it?
God- it smelled so good. That feeling of hunger filled Steph's mind and triggered her vampiristic instincts. She need to feed, fast.
As the girl turned her back, Steph quietly came out of the closet she was hiding him. Walking towards the back of her, she saw that her neck was wide open. Thank god for people parting their hair sideways. As she was about to feed, she snapped back to reality, wobbling back and falling on the floor. Of course, the girl turned around, and looked right at Steph.
"Oh my- who are you? What are you doing out here so late?"
The girl put a hand out, and Steph took it. She quickly responded, "I suppose I could ask you the same question, but I don't think I'll get an answer. I'm Steph." "Grace. My father and I were seeing the house earlier, and I left my 'What Would Jesus Do?' bracelet here." Steph nodded as her eyes are remained on Grace's neck and forearms. They sure do look appealing.
Grace yawned, and ended up sitting on the floor. Steph had already placed some sort of old mattress on there, and simply covered with a bedsheet. "Man, I gotta bike back..." Steph looked at the girl while she complained, and smirked slightly. With an alluring look in her eyes, she turned Grace's head to look at her. "Ah, it's alright. Rest here for a bit, I won't bite."
Grace looked nervous at the offer. She had to go home, she wanted to go home. Yet, this girl... Steph, she just drew her in. Before she knew it, her mouth muttered the words yes, and the two kept on staring at each other. "Now Grace, I have to ask you a question. Do you know anything about vampires and the like?"
"...no? If it's some kind of like, band fans, then I have no idea about them."
Steph looked shocked at this admission, and tried to think through how she'll phrase this properly. In order to charm a human properly, you first need a good approach, don't you?
"Ok then. A vampire is.. a creature who preys on human blood. They usually hate the sunlight, garlic, and silver. Got it?" Grace nodded. "I do. How come you're telling me this?" "Will you believe me if I say that I am a vampire?"
Grace looked confused at the question. Was this girl playing some kind of cruel trick with her? But, like God commanded, answer truthfully. "Why would I? You sound kind of insane right now." Steph smirked, opening her mouth and baring her fangs. They're way too sharp and long to be just a regular humans, and she put her hair back behind her pointed, pierced ears. Grace looked a bit scared, she's never seen a person like this, but regardless, she wanted to know more.
Something keeps telling her she wants to know more.
"And look, Grace. I'm quite hungry right now. Would you mind if I.. just got a bit of your blood~?"
Steph asked, leaning closer towards Grace. The closer she got, the redder the other girl's face was. She then pushed her away slightly, hesitance in her voice. "I... I don't- will it hurt?" "Probably, Gracie. Do you want me to comfort your boo boo, then?" Grace blushed even more, unsure what this feeling is towards the mysterious girl and confused as to what's happening.
Look, Grace had some strong willpower. That's what you have when your dad's the town pastor, after all. However, when she offered her arm to Steph, who's presumably a "vampire," that might be the complete opposite fact. "Go- just take what you need..."
The vampire widened her eyes. From stories she's heard, people need a lot more convincing. But this pretty girl just offers up her arm and blood? Hey, at least it was easy to get a meal for Steph today.
She took Grace's arm gently, placing it near her mouth. Jesus, the smell of the blood really came out. Her mouth almost watered at simply the smell, but why sniff it instead of tasting it?
Steph's fang suck into the arm, Grace wincing slightly from the pain. As she sucked the blood, she couldn't believe the taste. She couldn't believe how energized she was. And she couldn't believe how insatiable the feeling was from getting this girl's blood was.
Grace watched as Steph sucked the blood out of her arm. It was a bit painful, but is it weird to say it somehow made her extremely tired and excited? She could see her blood dripping down her arm as Steph eagerly feasting on her. It's scary, but it's somehow so attractive at the same time. She could easily pull away- it's not even like she's forcing her too.
It's just that... the feeling in her stomach that she gets from simply seeing this girl means letting Steph doing whatever she wanted. After a few minutes of silence and blood sucking, Steph lifted her head from Grace's forearm, wiping the blood from her mouth with the back of her hand.
As Grace slowly put her arm down, Steph looked at her, longingly and hungry for more. Steph quietly said, "Do you- do you feel ok? Are you too hurt?" The other girl nodded no, and Steph stood up, walking around the room. On top of the fireplace, she rummaged through a little box and found a roll of bandages. Tearing a long piece of it off with her teeth, Steph began to tightly wrap the fabric onto Grace's forearm.
The feeling of Steph wrapping her arm with the bandage, hell the feeling of the wound itself? It all felt numb. Grace Chasity couldn't feel anything ever since Stephanie Lauter sucked her blood. All she knows is that it felt so damn good.
Finally tying the bandage off, Steph leaned back from Grace, letting her sit up. "Alright, let's see.." Steph stared into her eyes, rolling down both the button up and sweater sleeves, covering both of her arms. She stood up, offering a hand out to Grace so that she can also stand up beside her, "Now, I'm sorry pretty girl, but you can't remember this.. for a while. However," Steph paused for a second, twirling a big strand of Grace's hair.
"I have a feeling we'll meet again, won't we? You're of course, drawn to me, but somehow I am too. Even without drinking your blood, something intrigues me about you, Grace. Come back here next time, won't you~?"
As she let go of the other girl's hair, Grace simply smiled and started walking out. Steph hated the charm ability vampires had as she saw the girl leave. Sure, it benefits both her and the person who she charmed because now whoever she targets will have no recollection of what she's done. Yet, something about Grace made her want to have her remember tonight. She wanted Grace to recognize her face and know who left that mark on her forearm. Oh well, what can a girl like her do?
Sighing and lying on the mattress, she closes her eyes. That was good, no, great blood. That's settled. Great blood comes from the prettiest people. Who knew?

Grace Chasity woke up the next day, in her bed and feeling somewhat extra tired. It was.. 2 in the afternoon? Huh. As she stood up and walked to the bathroom, she looked in the mirror. She didn't change at all from when she came back home yesterday from school. Thank goodness it was a Saturday, or else she would've gotten in big trouble with her parents.
As she turned on the faucet, she rolled up her sleeves so that the water wouldn't soak the fabric. The more she rolled her sleeves up, the more she saw that on her right arm, bandages tightly covered her forearm. Well that's.. odd.
Stopping for a minute, she pondered over how she got the bandage on her wrist. Staring at the blood covered and hastily wrapped fabric, Grace shook it off and began to start washing her face.
Eh, she must've fell while riding her bike.

Okay guys we get it Sigma is alive, everyone chill.
I didn't think Sigma was dead, but good to have confirmation regardless.
The true duality of Double Black is that they can take down the most vindictive and smart villians.
And also share one braincell between them.
You'd think the first one or two times Chuuya dropped Sigma he'd think maybe this isn't gonna work.
And of course he dropped him 15 times.
I kinda wish it was 16 purely because Chuuya is wearing the same outfit he had on during the Dragons head incident (which was 6 years ago, when he was 16.)
But this is still funny.

Considering how Araki liked killing off so many ladies in Part 8, or ignored them, I'm more bothered that we didn't get any female-Rock Humans. I get maybe Pillars were rushed for time, but he had way more time to say, make some rock humans who weren't guys. Just something that bothers me.

And arakis really weird convoluted whatever about insisting their just kinda antagonistic in nature and cannot hold a positive relationship with humans and romantic relationships with humans end with them hurting or killing their partners? Like what was the point of that especially when at least 2 of the rock humans from their lil group were ruining by their humans romantic partners? Like they loved and trusted their humans so much that it near destroyed them ? And one of them still wished to be with his old love?
Then being like, rock humans cannot have with kids with humans..... (100 chapters later) lol sike here's a half human half rock person for some reason
Like what did we gain from them specfically being rock humans ig? Geniuenly idk if I read jojolion too fast and suck at understanding but if someone has their interpretation or better understanding of this I wanna know fr? Like I LIKE rock humans I just fjdjjd don't get it lol

And yeah araki kinda just barely has woman antagonist in general like... being able to literally count every female antagonist on my hands it's like... yeah he doesn't! Tend to go the way of making many cool evil woman sadly.. so it's not a surprise no female rock humans... but fuck dude it woulda been nice to see!

as a romani woman who's always felt hurt by how romani people are portrayed in canon and viewed in fandom, its so nice to see this kind of allyship from a gadhži. its incredibly frustrating having to know that to a lot of people in fandom we'll be nothing more than a Villain and im always so appreciative for those who work against it and talk about the racism towards us in both canon and fandom
oh gosh this means a lot to me? i am constantly feeling that i'm really doing the bare minimum here, so this ask is .... simultaneously really heart-warming and really Makes Me Wanna Kick Some Knees (the knees of the people causing these problems. to be clear). i literally got an ask within an hour of my response to that ask about angel going "i think that the fandom sees the romani as shortsighted, not evil" discounting the fact that i am a goddamn jenny calendar fic scholar who has read everything that she's in and has been keeping fucking track of the way people write her larger romani background.
i think one of the problems is also that jenny as a character is written so clearly as someone who is stepping away from old traditions and customs, and the romani in the buffyverse are portrayed as locked in the past and unable to progress (because, again, the show is egregiously racist towards romani), so of course in fic if you're not thinking about what you're doing you're going to go "well, she's not like her family :)" and kinda lean into that. i sometimes worry that my fic does that too sometimes. i know one of the things that meant the most to me as i was writing what you make was 1) presenting jenny as part of a romani family that is full of a lot of joy and community (nora and donovan!) and 2) introducing non-white-passing romani to the narrative (donovan and his kids!) sort of shifting the focus away from jenny's family being romani as the problem & towards the idea of jenny's IMMEDIATE family having a lot of complex generational trauma that motivates their approach towards angelus. like, enyos as someone whose immediate family was slaughtered by vampires and who has never been able to process that loss, yknow?
but yeah! it is horrible and disheartening to see all the ways that people will bend over backwards to go "there's no anti-romani sentiment in btvs OR in the fandom :) it's just that the romani were trapped in the past and not good at what they did and didn't understand that angel REALLY deserved to be redeemed, and also enyos got what he deserved and jenny was a lying [anti-romani slur] spy :)" like hglksdhglksd the number of times i've just seen that slur tossed around IN FIC, or by people who are talking POSITIVELY about jenny! there's been a shift away from it but it was still very present in fic from the mid to late 2000s! (and still also now in fic where jenny is a supporting character who the writer doesn't care about!)
thank you for this ask. to know that saying stuff about how fucking horrible this fandom is about this (and other things) is making other people feel better & safer here -- i am so glad that this has a tangible positive impact somewhere! yesterday felt a little like shouting into the void especially as i look at spuffy fandom, which is STEEPED in racism in a way that i rarely see white spike/spuffy fans interacting with or wanting to talk about. i am determined to carve out a corner of the internet that feels good for nonwhite btvs fans, because it is HARD OUT HERE.

Okay. Finished Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Here's my scattered, informally-presented thoughts on it (some spoilers under the cut, but tried to keep it vague). I recommend looking through a professional review online if you want some more in-depth opinions tho
TLDR; Good game, but severely tainted by its janky combat and the writing being pretty "of its time", I think.
I loooove love love love the gameplay, for the most part! I think the stat system is good and forces you to really consider what you want to put your stats into, instead of just letting you farm them or whatever. You can't be an everyman (unless using console commands ofc, which i did). You have to stick to a build, though I think that ranged combat far outweighs ranged. But then again, roleplaying game. Getting a good combat build or stealth build is a side part of the whole experience.
However, I do wanna talk about the combat. The combat. Oh god, the combat. It's really, really bad. For most of the game you can avoid it, but there are multiple boss fights at the very end of the game that force you into combat. If you put all of your experience into stealth and subterfuge options, RIP. Many enemies are damage sponges, and you are most certainly Not a damage sponge in equal measure. Your movements in melee combat are usually slow and difficult to maneuver, meaning that if you get jumped by three or more enemies when you play melee, you're kiiiinda fucked. You stagger on every melee hit and cant avoid damage for shit half the time. Little better with ranged ofc, but the enemies also have guns most of the time, and some enemies will gun you down before you have any time to react. which means that if you run into a group of enemies, again, you're fucked. it's miraculous that they didnt catch just how bad it is to face off against large groups of enemies (and the bosses. they are Really Bad. All of them) in playtesting. So strange.
The roleplay is AMAZING, though. it has good diversity in its dialogue and character backstory, so you're relatively good on that front if you're here to be some guy thats having the roughest time of their life. plenty of avenues you can go for in the gameplay to fit the image you have in mind for your character, and I think that's its greatest strength.
the story is also pretty good! writing is great, love the characters and the setting. the writing is pretty tight, interesting the whole way through, and the reveal about the driving force of the narrative at the end of the game is real fuckin good. greatly enjoyed it.
ofc, there is some pretty bad shit as well; the chinatown area and any chinese character is depicted as evil, traitorous, stupid, or greedy. there's like, probably one or two good chinese characters in the game (if i remember correctly, my playthrough took a while). there's other instances of racism, however; The Sheriff character is a silent, animalistic bodyguard that is killed in several routes. hes stated to be from africa, and serving La Croix, a powerful white person... yknow. There's like four total dark-skinned people in this game, and a whole one of them is good, but only technically in one route, and he's still portrayed as an aggressive guard.
but all in all, i really think it is like, kinda worth the money? its pretty good despite these faults, especially since you have access to console commands and can just turn on god mode if shit gets unbearable (which it will, trust me). theres several unofficial patches that also add to the experience, and are probably even vital to playing the game. I used the VTMB Unofficial Patch, but there's other patches out there i believe, if you want to look at those.
so yeah i recommend it if youre fine with playing an old pc game thats too ambitious for its time.

a very quick summary of the current infiniteverse shit. its now werewolves and vampires as the primary story.
the galvezs are a prominent vampire colony and the williams are vampire hunters but also some of them are werewolves. benjamin williams kills zora galvezs mom so zora decides to take out the entire hunters guild but is so paranoid about it she hires anim, a vampire she turned, to kill off basically anyone in the bloodline. and javier is her brother but was never turned because he left the family and hes friends with joshua williams and doesnt want this all to happen. and harper williams is a creep.
anyways javier manages to make anim see that theyre being manipulated and gets them away from zora but zora finds and kills them. javier has a depressive spiral and sleeps with zoras ex/his werewolf friend emily and he accidentally knocks her up and she feels like she cant be trusted with her kid as a wolf who is bad at controlling her form so javier mainly takes care of kyra. and hes friends with joshua who had a surrogate to have tethys so they were friends as young children. but javiers also a slut and knocks up jamies mom at some point. when he finds out that zora killed anim he attacks her and she kills him. zora takes in kyra and is like yeah your dad fucked off lol. she kills joshua but lets tethys go because she doesnt wanna kill a child. tethys is taken in by emily who by this point has gotten her shit together but is unable to reach kyra because zora hates her.
so years later shits fairly normal. tethys and jamie meet at school and become friends. sam goes to the same school and joins. jamie is disowned by his family for being trans and moves in with tethys and emily. MEANWHILE zora has her weird silly little family with her wife juno, her daughter kylin, and her niece kyra. kylin loved anim like family and idolized them and zora reluctantly lets her hunt the vampire hunters in their place, but she eventually gets killed on the job. zoras been a shitty wife to juno so after their daughter dies juno leaves her and zora gets really depressed and starts being shitty to kyra.
this is where it gets fuzzier. i think car accident? idk, sams in a coma. kylin returned as a ghost but because she wasnt supposed to shes decaying fast so zora kidnaps sam and kylin takes him as a vessel. when sam wakes up theres now both him and kylin in the same body taking turns. hijinks insue. zora finds tethys again and is like yeah shes old enough to kill now. one night tethys sneaks out to find sam and jamie follows her after, tethys is kidnapped, kyra tries to help her escape but tethys is caught again and killed by kylin whos posessing sam. jamie sees this and fights sam and i forgot to mention jamie has werewolf blood and so hes shot by a silver bullet that fucks up his arm.
a year later tethys ghost comes back. jamie is Different. sam is coping poorly. kyra has taken on kylins/anims killing job. zora makes her kill emily because emilys working with juno whos running a group to stop zoras evil shit. kyra kills emily and it fucks tethys and jamie up really bad. emilys brother aaron comes to take them to the resistance base where they meet juno. plot to take down zora and stuff. blah blah kyra sacrifices herself saving tethys, but barely lives as we learn later. jamie ends up killing sam to get kylin out of his body. samlin throws tethys into a fire at some point during the fight.
the sequel was gonna be sam coming back as a ghost and joining the resistance group because zora is still alive, this time kyra also comes back and kills zora and she and kylin become the next big bads for some reason? and uhhh everyone dies at the end. none of the sequel shit is canon anymore because its bad

one of my ocs sort of got sucked into amy's family unit and he's in a sort of younger-ish sibling role to her (despite being older) and she makes him very happy and he loves her very much. they are friends :)

I mentioned it last night, but me, Isa, and Lea are gonna throw a Halloween party at the old mansion in Twilight Town. Isa's gonna be a werewolf, I'm gonna be a vampire, and Lea is gonna be a monster hunter. He probably watched Van Helsing and thought it was cool.
We're inviting the majority of the non-evil adults that are still alive while the kiddos go off trick or treating (Xion is gonna be a tonberry, that has nothing to do with anything I just thought it was funny when Owen suggested it). That INCLUDES Bee and Demyx and Dae and Lauriam/Marluxia, by the way.
It ALSO includes Terra and... other KH!Adri. Somehow. It's best to not acknowledge it. Terra is ALSO a werewolf (if i had a nickel for every kh boyfriend who dressed as a werewolf-) and I'm Little Red Riding Hood.
So much bullshit is going to happen, it'll all be funny. To some less than others, but hey.
It's gonna end with me and Isa dragging Lea back into bed when we get home because he got too drunk and probably fell off a banister or something. And then me and Isa are gonna sit down on the couch and watch horror movies and cuddle now that our beloved third wheel is down for the count.
Me and Terra, after getting moderately tipsy, make our way home after saying goodbye to everyone and... proceed to engage in Activites™. It's the couple's costume's fault, probably. We've been eyeballing each other since we put the damn things on.
