So, this week saw the end of the Sag-AFTRA strike! 🎉 I am so excited for Pedro knowing he may well be back to doing what he loves very soon. This is great news for everyone who was out on the picket lines and those striking to protect their livelihoods, their creativity and artistic identity.
(And let's not even talk about the whole Patrick Dempsey thing from this week, okay? Did we travel back in time or something? 😐)
This week was a busy one for me, again. Ugh, why does adulting suck? I wish I could stay at home and write all day rather than have to work and earn pennies to feed myself. 🙃

Las Mañanas - @kiwisbell I discovered this gem of a story this week and am hooked! I've devoured chapter 1 and am setting time aside this coming week to catch up on the rest, and you totally should too. Javier Peña in this is just everything you want; heroic, charmingly smooth with a pinch of arrogance, and the type of man you absolutely want coming into your coffee shop. 😍
Two Left Feet - @linzels-blog I adore this story. My mouth still aches from smiling so much as I read it. I was pulled right into Whiskey's world and Southern charm. Such a great fic that left me right in the action. I was dancing, I was drooling. I highly recommend this. 🤠
Send In The Clown - @covetyou I sat on this fic in my tbr for waaaay too long, let me tell you. I'm actually pissed at myself. This is nothing short of genius and please, if you're not into clowns that's cool, but I'd insist you give it a shot anyway because you'll be pleasantly surprised at how this is done. I don't even know if this would be considered a fic?? Cuz honestly this was such a short little thing that I wrote in under like 15 minutes 😭 probably the shortest amount of time it's taken me to ever write literally anything. But it was after I watched S6 E136 and literally that night I had a dream where this whole scene was played out in my head. And it just felt so dramatic in the right ways and just raw emotion that I had to write it down. And it's STILL my most liked post on this entire blog😭 but honestly understandable bc sometimes I go back and read it and I'm just like "damn wait I wrote that????" lmfaoo
"Only for you, Toshi" — Shinsou:
Completely opposite from the last one, this is actually the longest thing I've ever written. (that's posted anyway, there's a few longer still in my drafts) I just feel like Shinsou doesn't get enough love but he definitely deserves it😭❤️ all my friends that read it said they really enjoyed it and I'm just really happy with how it came out after working on it for a couple weeks, and that not touching it for a few months and then coming back to it only to finish it in like 2 days lmao
"Attention" — Dabi:
Now this wouldn't be a post about my fics if I didn't include something for my absolute favorite character in the entire show🖤 this fic was very self indulgent bc I'm such a brat🤭 and I'm convinced that Dabi is the king of brat taming. Fun fact, the outfit I described is something I literally own in my closet 😂
"Secrets" — BakuDeku x reader [UNFINISHED]:
This is a multi-part series I'm co-writing with my bsf @haru-x-ren on a joint account we made. (@bunny-x-haru if you'd like to follow) it's currently still a work in progress with only a few parts released, but it is a continuation of a 2 part fic I wrote when I first started called "You're the Only Thing That Makes Sense" — Bakugo So I do recommend reading this one first before Secrets for context and background info. I feel like you can really see my growth in writing from then to now, cuz that was like literally the second thing I ever posted lol. And Haru was literally my biggest fan bc he's the one that got me into writing fanfic<3 so after he read it, he had this absolutely BRILLIANT idea (spoiler) to take the scene I wrote where bakugo and deku were caught fighting after school hours (similar to that scene from season....2? When Bakugo learned about OFA) and turn it into a BakuDeku love triangle and I was honestly obsessed with the idea

Another one for my fav<3 this one was for his birthday and is very nasty🤭 also with a little bit of fluff at the end bc I am indeed a hopeless romantic with no romance🥲 also, the cover photo is most definitely the reaction I was imagining when he walks into the room lmao

HP Rec Fest, Day 13
I know there are many long fic lovers out there and they will be pleased with today’s prompt for @hprecfest! Unfortunately I don’t have the time or necessary focus to indulge long fics the way I used to; my sweet spot is either 3k or between 16k - 22k but every now and then I get that long fic itch and search for something to put me in the “zone”. I love the feeling of getting so damn invested, so intoxicated with a fic, I just can’t put it away and go to bed. Pulling all-nighters for fic is both exhausting and exciting, ah how I miss the good old days! These two stories had that long-lasting effect on me and are among my all-time favorites:

Five years after the war, Harry finds himself drawn to Draco Malfoy by memories that aren't his own. Or, in which Harry hates his Auror partner, Draco flips houses, Pansy sleeps around, Hermione is a magical creatures’ justice warrior, Blaise is getting married, and Ron is just along for the ride.
I got a single rec for this fic sitting in my drafts for months now and I should really post it some time soon because I constantly think of how I lost my sleep over this fic. at some point there’s a parallel story but the Drarry arc (which is the main arc) is just phenomenal and hits all my boxes: accidentally voyeur Harry going from horny to curious to infatuated while Draco struggles to get over his not-quite-requited love for Blaise?? yes pls! I love how all characters are so human and flawed, the dramaH is chef’s kiss and the UST is out of this world, so lush and sensual and self-indulgent it got me salivating. oh there’s also a morning sex scene that got forever imprinted on my brain, you’ll know it when you see it. you’re welcome 🔥

back when this fic started posting I couldn’t care less for this ship but I had just finished RoA and was eager to read anything written by this author. ofc this story finally pulled me into this rare pair (one that I’m still very fond of) as I could not resist the beautiful and enthralling prose, the brilliant character development, the magnificent platonic slow burn. this is first and foremost a story about family and friendship; it is also a coming of age story and as such it touches upon difficult themes and complicated feelings, it explores loss and grief, loneliness and pain but also joy and love in all its forms. the fact that I couldn’t get enough of a T-rated 330k fic just proves how epic this story is!

My Writing This Week
No updates, but I posted the series list for Let's Get Lost, my ex! Frankie at the beach fic.
I'm really excited about this concept and am delighted several people have shown interest so far.
Current state of the WIPs:
Your Hand In Mine - I have been working on a one-shot update between chapter three and four called 'Rumours about hips and thighs and whispered sighs' and it's uh, well I think the title implies a bit? Joel and the reader have come a long way from bench chats.
Let's Get Lost - working on chapter one and likely to be posted after the above one-shot
Secret Smile - remains on temporary hiatus but I hope to be writing for it again very soon.
I Can See You In Your Suit and Your Necktie - still in early drafts

What I've Been Up To This Week
I bought a new book at the weekend called Ink Blood Sister Scribe that sounds great and I'm about to start. I'm also eyeing up several other books at the moment but I'm trying to work through my TBR.
Nothing I've read this week beats last week's read of Girl Goddess Queen yet.
I've been listening to some more podcasts, including You're Wrong About and Maintenance Phase which are really interesting.
I had my hair recoloured and now it's super coppery and I'm really happy with it.
I've continued playing BG3 - at the moment I am stuck in Act 3 in my OG runthrough which is with a half-elf bard (why is the house of grief so hard? Why?!) so I started my Durge runthrough this week (tiefling driud for extra act one drama) I remain stuck in my Astarion and BG3 moment and I have made my peace with this. It's fun as I'm finding things I missed in my main playthrough (like the book in the cellar, the well in the village, etc.)

Greetings, fellow travelers! It’s your favorite hot mess speaking! 🖖
In the new year, I wanted to make an effort to share more about my writing progress and give you guys better (and hopefully, weekly) updates on some of my WIPs that I’ve been working on during that time.
So, for the curious among you, it’s a great opportunity to get some insight, and for me, it’s awesome because I get to share some of my excitement about current projects with you guys. And you know the rules here, questions are not only allowed but welcomed. Let me know if you like this idea and if we should continue it. In the future, I could also add fic recs of what I read that week if that would be something you’re interested in. So, without further ado, let’s get started! 🖤

Series Updates:
DBM: Finished three chapters this week. Spoilers: First part takes place in the reader’s past with chosen moments throughout the first three seasons. The chapters are called: Lemons, Salt, Tequila. Cas and Jack also finally make appearances 😇
TBH: Finished up and ready to go up until 30. I still hate them. They keep sacrificing themselves and dying or do something insanely stupid. They won’t cooperate with me, but I’ve worked out quite a few kinks! 💪
PH: Finished until 18. Oooooooh, do I love writing this thing! Spoilers: Intense jealousy and anger management problems in parts 17 and 18. God, they’re idiots! Also, have I mentioned the smut in 13 and 14? 🔥 No? Well, there you go…
Planned Miniseries:
Cast Away: So excited for this one! It’s a hate to love, with one part already being piningly in love, and everything happens on a deserted island because of a stupid witch spell (haha cast away… Get it now? 😂). Also, there might be some Peter Pan elements in this. Be surprised (and if you send me an ask about it, I might send you snippets of the first part) 😉
Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You, Baby: This is actually a part two to a Jensen x Reader one-shot I did in June. I said back then that I want more of them, and I still do. This has been sitting in my drafts for months again. Edited so many times I can’t even count and still not finished. But I had one final idea on how to fix what I don’t like, so we’ll see. I’m quite happy with the direction it’s taking 🙃
Upcoming One-Shots:
Mercilessly: Demon!Dean x Soulmate!Reader fic. Not gonna spoil too much about it because it’s posting soon for a challenge 😈
Everything I Wanted: The alternate ending to On The Beach aka the one I deleted because it was depressing, angsty and devastating. Anyways, who wants their hearts to be broken? (Also, I titled it after the Billie Eilish song because the lyrics and video always make me fucking bawl my eyes out 😭)

Festive Fest FAQs
As hard as it is to believe, we are only a few days away from the opening of the Jaime x Brienne Festive Fest 2022 collection! I know a few of you eager beavers are already done, but if you aren’t (or haven’t started) that’s fine! You still have until January 1st to create and post your gift, which is plenty of time.
However, if you know you cannot complete a fic please reach out to as soon as possible so a knight writer can be arranged. Life happens and there’s no shame in needing a little help. Just a reminder, you will need to begin posting or contact us with an update by December 28th--it's totally fine if you aren't posting until the first, we just need to know so we can arrange knight writers for those who need them!
Now with the collection opening soon, here’s some FAQ on posting!
How does posting work?
The exchange portal will open at midnight UTC on December 23rd (check when that is in your timezone here) Once it opens, there are two options:
The simplest is to go to your ao3 dashboard and select 'Assignments'. Select 'Fulfill' and upload as usual--ao3 will fill in all the prompter and collection details for you.
Alternatively, go to the collection here, and in the top right there will be a ‘Post to Collection’ button OR upload your fic (or link to other art form) to AO3 as usual, and make sure you enter JBFestiveFestivalExchange2022 in the collection field pictured below.
From here, the process is the same as any other upload. Fill in the relevant details and ensure you tick the 'Does this fulfill a challenge assignment' box so the work is gifted to your prompter.
If you’ve already made an AO3 draft before the 23rd, make sure you add it to the collection and put in your recipient’s username in the fields mentioned above, and make sure you change the date when posting (or your gift will be buried). Be aware it can cause some shenanigans where the gift may not appear at the top of the page.
After that, it’s as simple as clicking Post! Your gift will be submitted to the exchange.
What about Stocking Stuffers?
I’m glad you asked, imaginary exchange participant that’s totally not me talking to myself! A Stocking Stuffer is a gift made by anyone (you don’t even have to be signed up for the main exchange) for anyone (who also doesn’t need to be signed up for the main exchange). Like other Festive Fest gifts, they can be any size and shape. It can be art! A video edit! A moodboard! A fic of any length! We’ll be releasing the prompt spreadsheet and posting instructions on December 23rd.
Can I thank my beta in the notes of my story?
Absolutely you can! The betas of the fandom work HARD, they definitely deserve recognition.
What if I don’t receive a gift?
Everyone gets a gift. Authors have until December 28th to post their gift or contact us. If it’s midway through the exchange period and you haven’t received one yet, it might be because your gift needed a knight writer, who is probably working very diligently to complete it.
What’s the etiquette around thanking my author?
A kudos and a comment is pretty standard. It’s up to you how long your comment is; we don’t write comments with our heads, we write them with our hearts. Just keep in mind that a person out there spent time working on something just for you, so make sure you show your appreciation!
Can I promote my story?
Yes, go wild!
Can I rec my gift story?
Absolutely! Share the love!

Intro Post
(Every few days I remember something I forgot or have new links to add lol it's constantly changing a little bit)
So I go by Lyra (or Library lol) and I use she/her pronouns. That's all I can think of to put here lol.
I'm a reader and a writer. I love romantic fantasy in both, but I'll read almost anything. Not really into horror, but I've dabbled in most other genres when it comes to reading, all the way to non-fiction. I'm always accepting new recs even though I have a ridiculous tbr and wishlist lol.
Always happy to talk about books with anyone, but be wary of that once you get me started I won't ever stop annoying you about it lol.
Some of my favorites right now are:
The Folk of the Air trilogy [the cruel prince, etc]
The Grishaverse books [my favorite is either Crooked Kingdom or Rule of Wolves]
Once Upon a Broken Heart series (as of Oct 15. I'm hyperfixating on this one, so you're getting a lot of fandom content for them)
I have ADHD (if you couldn't tell from my overuse of parenthesis and brackets [every thought comes with a bonus thought and sometimes an extra bonus thought like this!]). I'm a Christian with more progressive theology, but this blog is a safe place for everyone as long as we're all loving to each other and respect each other's beliefs and identities (and I love having good faith dialogue [not debates!! 0 interest in theological debates.], I love hearing other perspectives and getting to talk about it, so feel free to dm me about that, too). I'm an ISFJ and a 9w1, and I don't know that much about it yet but I love typology. I also love video games, mostly Stardew Valley and the sims right now (thinking about making a secondary blog for that).
I post fandom stuff and writing things for my wips. You'll probably get lots of stuff for my wip Idk, Dragons ocs once NaNo starts. And just random stuff for whatever I'm hyperfixating on in the moment lol. I'm totally open to asks about anything involving my wips or fandom-related asks. I participate in Storyteller Saturday and Worldbuilding Wednesday every week, and feel free to ask for any of the other events, too. Tag games are also cool!

i've been sitting on this for a bit but today (andorversary) seems like the right day! I've been having fun with writing some Andor stuff but I'm not gonna pretend that i'm super prolific (there's a lot of small drafts and wips i have, though), so i'm only going to rec 3 of my stories. honestly, I never know if they're good or not, but (story time) I spent a long time in architecture school learning/working on how to critically see your own concepts and stepping back from a work, so i think i'm happy enough with all of them.
To prevent (electric) shock, do not remove cover (Cassian/Nemik Narkina 5 AU, almost 10k words (!!))
I adore AUs and i love the concept that no matter what Cassian does, he will always end on the Scarif beach. Although I did think a lot about whether a galaxy that ultimately will always make him end up there (the force???) and Cassian's personal agency are at odds with each other? Look, i know i post about skemik here and skemik there but really the idea that they will be BURIED TOGETHER has such a hold on me. it kills me. This scene is canon, to me. They filmed it and just forgot to put it in. I also really liked writing from Vel's POV, her struggles feel so real to me.

oooh, not the first thing i wrote for Andor but the first one I finished (and the most popular of my stories ig). we all saw the scene where Cassian and Melshi ran over the dark landscape and had the same thought ... huddling for warmth. This was a kind of flash of brain activity for me, and i think it comes through! Also, Melshian ... ugh. I love when they laugh together, too!

this love x thiam — this is, like, the second set i ever made, but the coloring and glowing font are still so pretty to me and fitting of the dreamlike, expansive quality that the song’s rerecording has. also with how cool-toned most thiam scenes are, it all fell into place effortlessly and looks that way.
thiam: first love, you remember what that’s like? — (in which i discover my favorite sharpening settings for the first time, but not yet how to do transitions in gifs, so i make the transitions in video and import from there.) time and memory are my favorite topics to explore, so this was sooooo fun. i think it’s poignant!
i also enjoy the blending on the 3a set! the emotional tether gif especially, the timing of it, how the water flows over lydia’s hands, looks kind of starry, how her eyes flutter open as allison’s close. this was the “draft” version without selective color or a gradient map over it, which i think also looks nice:

How's everyone doing!?
I'm still recovering from Hobipalooza. IT WAS INSANE SKJLGNADJKGN. I'm literally so proud of him. if i didn't have work I would've had been headbanging in that crowd. 😭
Unfortunately this week I'm out of the city for work and It's going to be hard for me to write the next chapter, but don't feel sad! I have it drafted already and have half the scenes done👍. I can't tell you a day for the next update yet but know that I'm hiding from my bosses to write on my phone in the dark corners lmao.
In the meantime, I have one unusual request and one favor hehe.👉👈 As you guys have been sending me media that reminds you of Days Since I Met You (that I will turn into IG posts soon or just add it as aesthetics) I was wondering if you guys had any songs that reminded you of the story and if you can send them my way to build a playlist? It can be literally any genre. One kind reader actually sent me the soundtrack of EVE🤯, a kdrama, because she thought the instrumental fitted the heartbreaking scene at the music store...and gosh...the emotions went overboard when I heard it like fuck. Excuse the swearing.
Hold Me Tight by Kim Yeji is the background music for these chapters (20-22). I've decided lmao. 😅👌 (if you want another round of convulsional crying play this while reading chapter 20.)

It's for research I SWEAR. I know you guys spotted the eventual smut tag in the tags section. I'll be realistic and transparent with you guys, I'm drafting the first smut scene soon, but it's going to be awhile until you guys read it since you know how I draft chapters way before. It will tell me what my readers are into and how steamy I can write the scene without losing the realistic aspect of it and ofc so I can build it around Mika's and JK's personalities and preferences.

Heyy! I absolutely love your fanfics and your Maeglin becoming Gil-Galad is a personal favorite! I recently saw your post on song recs based on lotr and it feels like I've found a gold mine. All of them are BANGERS!! I was wondering if you have anymore recs, or more specifically any songs that remind you of certain charachters from Tolkien's works?
Of course I'll share more! Thanks for liking my fic as well. I really want to write more, but I'm starting my spring semester of college and I'm feel like I'm sort of at a dead end. I still think about that fic concept every night though, so I wouldn't rule out another update sometime.
Ships by Cirkeln. Used to be on spotify, but no longer is. The other songs on this album are good too.
Ballad of Aiglos by The Lonely Mountain Band. I listen to this very often. The prettiest one in this list. It's from the perspective of Gil-galad's spear.
The Oath of Fëanor by Númenor. More metal.
Shadows by Sabaton. I'm a history nerd and I love Sabaton. This one is about the nazgûl.
Moria by Bloodbound. I'm not sure it's entirely LotR related based on the lyrics, but it is a really good song.
Tar-Calion and Caradhras by Summoning. I don't know how to describe these two.
Lord of the Rings by Blind Guardian. Yet another amazing Blind Guardian song based on Tolkien's stories but this time not in Nightfall in Middle earth.
The Tides of War by Blind Guardian. Probably my favorite Blind Guardian song. It was meant to be in NiMe but I guess it was dropped and it's not on spotify. There's another one also dropped called Doom, but make sure you listen to the NiMe version and not the other one.
Túrin Son of Húrin by Emyn Muil. I like this one, though I have heard someone called Emyn Muil a cheap copy of Summoning and I would have to agree. The album is good but could be better. That being said, I do like the last song on it, Hail to the Black Sword. Just don't listen to the end of if you'd rather not hear Túrin impale himself on his sword.
The Longbottom Leaf by The Fellowship. An instrumental, a very good one.
Children's Song from Dale by Broceliande. I'd consider this folk song style.

Wither Rose Alliance Playlist
Alright, well, this has been sitting in my drafts for... a while. To be honest, I’d kind of given up on it; I just lost motivation and had originally felt bad just posting it in the state that it’s currently in.
But, with Season 2 starting as soon as it is, I figured I might as well. Better something than nothing, right? And honestly, if anybody has suggestions for songs for me to add to it (mostly for Gem and Pearl, they’re the ones who I had the most trouble finding songs for) I’ll happily add them and credit you for the suggestion!

If you’re curious, here are the songs in order, and what made me choose them!
Wither (by Rachel Rose Mitchell) - I chose it more for the name than for the song itself, but if you kinda like... squint than some of it does kinda fit? lol
Inkpot Gods (by The Amazing Devil) - okay so, at first I was just adding this for the joke of black dye coming from only squid ink or wither roses in the game... but listening to the lyrics, it does actually fit pretty well! I feel kind of like it’s Sausage and fWhip singing to/about Gem (and maybe Pearl too, i’m not actually sure if she’s fully in the alliance?), and then Gem (and maybe Pearl) singing to/about Sausage and fWhip!
Crusader (Are We There Yet (by Black Gryp0n & Baasik) - OKAY YES I KNOW IT’S SILLY BUT!!! The opening lines are literally “Three friends taking on the world together, big plans in a bigger world” and that’s so them!!! You could also say that the line “You’ve done it all from A to Z, are you trying to find your destiny?” fits them basically constantly switching ‘alignments’ (which still staying incredibly chaotic, of course lol)
One of Us (by New Politics) - just a pretty good found-family (and in my eyes I consider the alliance to be a sort of found-family) song, in my opinion :) (you could also consider this being them welcoming Pearl and/or Joey into the alliance, if that’s something that vibes with you! I mean, both of them have rooms in the “Wither Rose Alliance HQ”)
Second Family (by Patent Pending) - Again, just another pretty good found-family song, one that I definitely feels fits their vibes.
Family (by Mother Mother) - very much a roseblings and/or found family song if you include Sausage in it! Especially with the episodes after Scott froze Gem... “If you fuck with them, YOU FUCK WITH ME” (if you fuck with Gem, you’re fucking with Sausage and fWhip... and you better watch your back lol)
Soldier, Poet, King (by The Oh Hellos) - Soldier = fWhip, Poet = Gem, King = Sausage. That simple lol
Defying Gravity (cover by Caleb Hyles & Rebecca Parham) - Mostly Roseblings! Whether it be through magic or tech, they’re (metaphorically and literally) defying gravity. (I say MOSTLY Roseblings because the bit closer to the end about visions is definitely more of a Sausage bit lol)
Ready As I’ll Ever Be (from that one Tangled TV series?) - Not gonna lie, I literally only heard this song once before I started this playlist, but I saw someone else mention it as a good song for the alliance when talking about songs for Empires in general (really sorry I don’t remember who you are but!!! I appreciate the song rec lmao)
Wicked Ones (by Dorothy) - We can all agree that the Wither Rose Alliance were basically antagonists at the beginning of the series, right? Well, this song is for them back then :)
Trouble Is a Friend (by Lenka) - Gem is the singer and fWhip & Sausage are Trouble(TM)
Heathens (by Twenty One Pilots) - Again, we had to get some more Antagonistic!Wither Rose Alliance songs on here, and this song felt like it fit that vibe.
Alone Together (by Fall Out Boy) - I can’t really honestly say exactly what about this song made it feel like it fit, but it’s still here lol
Watch Me (by Icon For Hire) - Vibes for Gem and fWhip being like “whoops maybe we shouldn’t have thought sending the Codvengers into the end would be a good, fun idea” and for Sausage thinking making a deal with Xornoth was definitely not going to end poorly (lmao)
Bad Guy (by Set It Off) - this just had the right vibes. I especially like the line “I stole the moon, I made the stars align” for Gem, “I taught you how to fly” for Pearl (because she is part of the alliance!!! fuck yes), they’re little things but I can just SEE it in my head when I hear the lyrics now you know?
What Have You Done (by Within Temptation ft. Keith Caputo) - Very much Gem & fWhip at Sausage (and/or the rest of the server at the whole alliance, lol. especially the part of “it’s over now, what have you done?” in reference to fWhip stealing the Codfather Head right after they had JUST finished the war by returning the music disk)
Good For You (from the Dear Evan Hanson musical, of which this is the only thing I’ve heard from it lol) - Pearl, Gem and fWhip singing at Sausage because he’s gone all evil, Sausage internally being like “noooo what have I done :(”
Dancing With The Devil (by Set It Off) - Gem and fWhip feeling by betrayed by Sausage turning against them to become Xornoth’s champion. (”Years of us building the trust up / No love was ever enough / I’m foolish to think we were friends / It’s funny how it ends”), and then the end bit is Sausage (”You try to act as if you’re saving me / But you wouldn’t cut the rope if it was hanging me / I’m sick of people saying ‘what you sow you reap’ / ‘Cause I’ve been counting down the minutes of that so to speak”)
Blood Right (by Madame Macabre) - We’re in “this is literally just for Sausage territory” now. I’d quote lyrics but honestly the whole song is pretty good for him throughout several of his arcs!
We Have It All (by Pim Stones) - Sausage in his “Xornoth’s warlock/champion arc” (”Our hearts we have sold / For diamonds and gold / But hey, baby, take a look / We have it all”) (then him at Gem & fWhip: “There’s glory ahead but our love will be forgotten / If my heart was still mine I would go to the bottom / And apologize to you until the day it went rotten”)
Falling Inside The Black (by Skillet) - a nice edgy song for Sausage losing himself to Xornoth’s powers :) (also there’s a nice part that could be him singing to Gem & fWhip “You were my source of strength / I’ve traded everything that I love for this one thing / Stranded in the offering / Don’t leave me here like this / Can’t you hear me scream from the abyss?”)
My Demons (by STARSET) - does this even need any explanation? another song for Sausage losing himself to Xornoth.
Monster (by STARSET) - Yet another corruption-arc Sausage song (not out of that territory yet lol) (though, with the more recent episodes, this one might lean more towards having to do with the actual full separate entity that is corrupted!Sausage! (I put the song on the playlist long before that happened but like, if the shoe fits right?))
Liar (by The Arcadian Wild) - Sausage starting to have doubts about/regretting being Xornoth’s champion.
Open Your Eyes (by Aviators) - This has got to do with, like, Sausage slowly trying to regain control with the help of his friends.
UNHOLY (by The Faceplants) - More corruption-arc Sausage wanting to become uncorrupted but being unable to fight it on his own
How To Save A Life (by The Fray) - Gem working to save Sausage from Xornoth/himself. All while being worried she’s lost him for good. (some of my favorite lines from the song for them are “Let him know that you know best / ‘Cause afterall you do know best / Try to slip past his defense / Without granting innocence”. They just really made me think of them)
The Parting Glass (cover by Peter Hollands, The Fox + The Hound) - This song makes me think of the scene where Sausage is basically writing/reading out his will. (there’s no real reason I chose this cover over other versions, it’s just the one I found the fastest lol)
Coming Home - Part II / Bonus Track (by Skylar Grey) - A nice song for after Sausage gets uncorrupted. (I especially like the lines “I know my kingdom awaits / And they’ve forgiven my mistakes” for Sausage because he is a king after all)
Nightmares & Flare Guns (by Seb Adams) - This song made me think of how Sausage started getting dreams after he was freed from Xornoth’s control.
The Story That Never Starts (by Abney Park) - This song felt like it had the right vibes for Sausage’s new dream-powers and him being able to travel to alternate realities. At least to me, lol.
Broken Crown (by Mumford & Sons) - I can see this as being for Gem or Sausage, depending on how you look at it. For Gem, it’s about her not wanting to be royalty; she’s no queen, or empress, or countess- she’s a wizard, and that’s all she wants to be! For Sausage, it’s about him being done searching for power- he doesn’t want Xornoth’s corrupted magic, he doesn’t want the power of the Server Crown, he doesn’t want any of it anymore!
Brother Stand Beside Me (by Heather Dale) - Finally moving away from Sausage lol. This song is for the Roseblings! Obviously from Gem’s perspective (as fWhip would be her brother in the song).
The Rockrose and the Thistle (by The Amazing Devil) - Another Roseblings song, but this time it’s a Sad(tm) Roseblings song. (I’ll admit that it’s mostly vibes, like not really exact lyrics to scenes. Other than the bit of “And up those cliffs I climb”, that does feel like it could be a good reference point... also the “Rockrose” and “Thistle” part of the song/title makes me think of Wither Roses so, ya know.)
Whatever It Takes (by Imagine Dragons) - This song makes me think of fWhip! He’s just got that vibe of a mad scientist/inventor who would do anything for his craft. (Also, part of the song goes “Whip, whip” and like... “fWhip” literally stands for “Fail Whip” so!!!)
Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) (by Fall Out Boy) - I can’t exactly explain it with the lyrics (and admittedly some of the lyrics match Scott more than anyone, lol, but he isn’t in the Alliance)... but this song makes me think of fWhip.
Arsonist’s Lullaby (by Hozier) - This song just has fWhip vibes to me. Like... he’s basically an arsonist in canon yeah? Sure he doesn’t set things on fire as much as he just blows them up but, close enough right? lol
Bang! (by AJR) - ...Speaking of fWhip blowing stuff up (lol). Yes, this song is for fWhip, I don’t have exact lyrics for this one it’s just VIBES you know?
Come Alive (from The Greatest Showman) - Another song for fWhip, but some lines (like the parts about “dreaming with your eyes wide open”) make me think of Sausage too! It’s just a nice upbeat song and I feel it fits their vibes pretty well.
Spirits (by The Strumbellas) - I got recommended this song by @oklotea via an ask, I’d never heard the song before but when listening to it for the first time, it made me think of fWhip and Sausage (”Guns in my head” = fWhip, “Spirits in my head” = Sausage). Very good song, appreciate the rec!
Come Hang Out (by AJR) - Gem has been so busy with her wizard school, fWhip’s been busy with his inventions, Sausage has been busy learning to deal with his new powers, they haven’t really had time to just ‘hang out’ you know?
