How would you rewrite Junpei and Izumi?
Hi Anon~. Sorry for being late. In truth I’m being late with almost anything you have requested or asked me about because……….I’ve been sinking into the sea of a game and it has been occupying the free time my mind can spend without studying lmaooooo. Anyway, I had written a draft so I’ve corrected it. I hope it’s decent as an answer! I have got so many feelings about a possible rewriting for them🥺. Sometimes I really feel like they are the characters the writers care about the least. BUT DON’T WORRY! I’M HERE, BBIES!
Hm, important note, I won’t really talk about the evolutions because I’m not even a big fan of the evolutions coming after the ones they own. Deepest wish is for them to have a fusion🤫 but that’s another story💕💕.
- I would give them a family bg because that’s the first alarm giving me the impression the writers just didn’t care about them. They are the first characters in the whole Digimon franchise history who don’t have an explained family bg and this breaks my heart, because knowing about a character’s family is useful to understand so many aspects of that character. I would have been okay if Junpei’s parents had never been shown, though. At this point you must know his bios have convinced me this boy either lives with an aunt and uncle or with his grandparents.
- Izumi’s problems with her classmates have to be rebuilt and rewritten completely. I want her to hold in herself a clearer story of xenophobia. I also kinda would desire flashbacks about her leaving Italy, her sadness, her nostalgia; why not, also flashbacks of what her life used to be like in Italy in comparison with the one she’s leading in Japan. It would be cute if one of these flashbacks featured her enjoying italian wind, because ,SERIOUSLY, the bond between the kids and their element need to be explored.
- Junpei is the one who has got the least amount of flashbacks and insights about his life in the real world. I really feel moved about his issues at building relationships and real friends, but I would have adored if they had given a reason why Junpei acts the way he does. Personally, I would have adored hearing Junpei has taken an interest on magical tricks because originally he wanted to get attention from his absent parents. Parents give him so much money so he can buy chocolate, cards, whatever he thinks the other kids like, and they think in this way Junpei can feel loved so he has got a messed up perception of relationships, of the way you can create meaningful links with others etc… Moreover, his attention about magical tricks makes him even a worse student than what he is like and this makes his father or both his parents infuriated, which compromises their weak family bond even more. In this way that frame from the” Innocent” ending scene, which is way too specific in his case for my tastes, could finally get an explanation in the anime.
- Oh yes, I would describe Junpei’s bedroom being messy and full of toys and other stuff he buys to be liked by other kids; stuff the other kids will rarely be interested in; stuff he accumulates, -just like his chocolate-, in his bedroom and will never use. I would like to clarify he eats so many bars because nobody really wants to eat them.
- I would give both Izumi and Junpei a reason to jump on that train or, at least, make them question why they have done it, especially Junpei:
• Izumi might have had a very bad school day, something common for a kid but an experience which is the last straw making the camel’s back break to her. She is sick of her school life. Maybe she has heard that girl she has helped with her foot laughing about her, joining the others in some petty chorus, and this sends Izumi on the edge of tears. She comes back home, puts her pizza in the microwave while she is sadly thinking about what has happened and that’s when Ophanimon’s message makes her phone vibrate.
• In the first 5 episodes Junpei is always like “It’s better if I had stayed at home!”; “I really don’t want to stay in this world!” and then he jumps on the train again and we don’t know what happened in his head. I WISH for that part about Izumi being the reason why Junpei has stayed to remain, but I also would like to make it more meaningful, and not a stupid crush joke. It’s very precious that Junpei felt Izumi was as lonely as him so I wanted this part of his bios to take a consistency in the anime. Probably, I wouldn’t really reveal it that soon. When Junpei is on the train, I would like to see him thinking about his life in the real world, maybe remembering his parents are going to come back too and he will be scolded about his grades. He is not a kid who likes giving voice to his most delicate thoughts, so he would also think about his classmates , wince because of an unexplainable melancholy creeping in his soul, and then look at Izumi. And feel it.
- I’d love making Izumi and Ranamon have wholesome moments too, because Ranamon is the other female presence we need in this season and she didn’t have to necessarily be entirely bad and obnoxious. After some adventure they’d share together, I would love seeing Izumi using her kindness to make Ranamon understand she has got other qualities that are more important than beauty. I would still let Ranamon be annihilated tho… With tears on her face and a smile because now she has understood her true worth and hopefully in another life she will be more sincere to herself. In a nutshell, I would like if if Ranamon got more human feelings. I LOVE RANAMON., okay.
- AGAIN, I’D STRENGTHEN THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THEM AND THE ELEMENTS. Jesus Christ, Junpei’s fear of about thunders and lightning is so pitiful and mocking. Why haven’t they given it a DEPTH. Like you already know from my fics, I’d gladly link it with his loneliness.
- I would rewrite the episodes of Tsunomon and Whamon.
• The Tsunomon episode wouldn’t be focused on only Izumi because her feeling Tsunomon’s isolation is relatable to her has got a very weird execution. I would make it an episode about loneliness in general; about BOTH feeling their loneliness intensely and maybe face each other about it with some flashbacks. Thus, they would reach a first level of mutual understanding and respect, because , after all, like a dear friend said, they are two faces of the same coin and just have to realize it. - The Whamon episode has to be about both as well, because it’s shameful Izumi stood still in a situation that was about her, letting Junpei be her shining knight in armour. You are supposed to be a heroine, girl! Do you want to sit on the stands for the nth episode while Junpei is doing everything and putting his life at stake for your sake? I want her to snap out of her | *shaking voice* “I-If only I could digievolve🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🐑*. I freaking want her to help Junpei gain his control on the Beast like Tomoki did for Takuya, at least. Junpei was going berserk in the original episode too and what helps him gain his control? Remembering he wanted to get Izumi’s spirit back. So I think Junpei would go berserk and she’d help him with her voice, -like Bokomon would suggest-, which would also be a faint hint Izumi has got a tendency to keep control in similar situations as well. Izumi should exploit that feeling of hopelessness she has experienced while being unable to fight to REACT; to start wishing for a sort of “redemption” and get stronger; to discover her strength.
- AND AND AND AND, I would frankly make Izumi pay Junpei back for that, allowing her to rescue him for once. We had got so close in the episode in which Kerpymon steals the kids’ digivices and Junpei is the first one getting his stolen. Shutumon flies to his side and insists on helping him, but Loweemon stops her. WELL, either I’d make Loweemon shut up or I’d turn Junpei in Ranamon’s prince prey in captivity. So, Izumi would finally have someone to rescue and HOPEFULLY she wouldn’t drown lol, because let’s stop making Izumi drown everytime. This would be Izumi’s new evolution moment ✨.
- Finally, I’d make Tsunomon come back because another thing I hate is how they are the ones who have been shafted away in the most embarassing way in the final episodes. You don’t want to make Kokuwamons and Floramons come back? Fine, because those would have been an episode for each. Well, then, make Tsunomon come back, now evolved in Gabumon and make them save what they care about the most, thank you. Two episodes for Tomoki? Now I’m giving you the chance to give Izumi and Junpei a single episode for both.
And that’s it, Anon. I took two or maybe more weeks to write this because my tw friends make me come up with the worst ideas, honestly, and I needed to write them down. I don’t know when I will post this, but I really thank you for the patience💕. I’m sure there would be so many other things I would add, but this post can (not ) be a papyrus. I also want to say I really want to write some of these someday, especially Izumi rescuing Junpei because I want to see him acting miserable in some cage until Ranamon will threaten to drown him while he’s melting due to her Jelousy Rain.

okay so! i had this huge (i mean HUGE) deciana phase a couple years ago where i consumed every scrap of content i could find for them. i mean every. all of it. i feel like i read every dexiana centered fic there was (and then many that werent dexiana centered but i went through anyway)
and it was like 2020 so obv most the fics were wattpad level bad BUT. there was this one fic. it was soooo good i read it dozens of times i absolutely loved it <33
it was like dex had an ugly sweater right? and biana saw him at the library studying every day? and she was like “oh no hes cute” and she kept coming back to the library to see him but like she could never talk to him bc she was way too flustered and there was bg sokeefitz i think and tbh all i rlly remember at this point was the ugly sweater but!!! it was just a super cute super fluffy fic in general and i loved it so so much
anyways. its been two years but my brain has just randomly remembered that fic and now i. cant stop thinking abt it. ive tried looking for it but i cant even remember what site i read it on. ive searched all of ao3 w no luck (and on a related note i. i need eye bleach. help me.)
and, okay, if its not on ao3 then its probably the wiki or wattpad bc thats where i spent most my time reading fic BUT both those sites have a terrible sorting system so 😭😭 i dont think i read it on quotev or fanfiction.net but then again, it’s entirely possible???
so idk i think just gonna spend my weekend searching the internet to find this one dexiana fic i read when i was 13. like, i did that all the time when i was seriously starved for content so!! i can do this probably!! anyways wish me luck </3

Tbh I'm still learning myself so I probably can't expand on areas like messing around with perspective etc. etc., but I can definitely give you a few things that helped me start out.
1. Study images, photos, screenshots, etc.
2. Rule of 3rds
3. Study color
When I started to dip my toe into painting bgs more seriously, I heavily relied on Genshin Impact screenshots. At around that same time, I became a Genshin content creator, so I wanted to learn how to draw places in Teyvat! The more I practiced, the less I needed to rely on screenshots. I still do use screenshots and Pinterest photos of rooms and stuff for inspiration tho.
All in all, if you're focusing on a more realistic style, it's mostly recommended to study from real life stuff when you're learning fundamentals.

When it comes to the composition itself, I usually like to apply something I learned in a photography course I took when I was still an art undergrad called the 'Rule of Thirds'. It's a great general rule of thumb so your backgrounds look nice and well planned!
I'm terrible at explaining these sorts of things well, so I pulled this explanation from the Adobe website. (lol)
"What is the rule of thirds?
The rule of thirds is a composition guideline that places your subject in the left or right third of an image, leaving the other two thirds more open. While there are other forms of composition, the rule of thirds generally leads to compelling and well-composed shots.
If you imagine dividing a photo, or even your camera’s viewfinder, into nine equal zones using horizontal and vertical lines, that forms your rule-of-thirds grid — a setting you can select on most cameras and even on your phone.
“This might be a generational thing, but if you think of The Brady Bunch intro where you have the nine identical rectangles,” Ingersoll explains, “they’re all the same size and it’s three by three — three rows, three columns.”
That means the corners of the central square are the intersection points in your grid where you want to place the focal point of your shot. It’s called the rule of thirds, but you can think of it as giving you four crosshairs with which to target a shot’s important elements. This will help you balance your main subject with negative space in your shot to nail an effective photographic composition that will draw the viewer’s eye."

Personally, when I'm dealing with my backgrounds, as you've probably noticed before, I'm absolutely OBSESSED with painting skies, landscapes, and all that good stuff. My professor who introduced us to the rule of thirds had us practice this by taking picture of a tree, and wanted us to have 2/3rds of the grid rows with sky, 1/3rd with the ground and vice versa. He also advised against taking pictures where there's half sky and half land (i.e. directly in the middle of the grid), because it could look boring!
Of course this doesn't have to be followed religiously, but it's a good way to avoid stressing about how you want to arrange your background. After a while of practicing that, it's something that unconsciously becomes a part of your workflow.

Color is.... a really gray area tbh (lol). If you don't understand how to work with it, it can be one of the reasons why painting backgrounds could be very painful. I couldn't really grasp how to color well until I took a painting course (also when I was still an undergrad student), and I was forced to face coloring head on with acrylic paints. My prof taught us some great tips to jump off from that I kept applying even after I dropped out of the program.
I'm sure you're probably familiar with color schemes! (complimentary, triadic, and analogous), and if not, here's a great resource on it https://www.canva.com/colors/color-wheel/
But the tip that helped me the most was 'depth by color"! Here's some slides from the ppt to give you an idea (I'd send the whole color theory ppt. cuz it's really useful, but I don't think I should since it was class material, so here's the three slides.
So yeah! When I wasn't sure which colors to pick for my acrylic paintings, I referred to this method of creating space through colors, and was able to get a better understanding of how to use them in my bgs. I don't follow this method as often anymore cuz after a while of using set palettes, you're able to know what feels right and what doesn't.
This is also kind of unrelated, but if you use Clip Studio Paint, it has this really useful menu called 'approximate color', which is also pretty great for picking colors as well.
I usually have it set to "red" and "saturation", but toy around with the settings to get some color options you prefer!

I love how you also grabbed the main point of endwalker and just gave it so Cain! The whole idea of him trying to find his place and I cannot believe how surreal it must have been for him to fight Zenos specifically, after everything Mia has gone through! And you don't need to apologize about anything, don't worry about the wait!! It's so worth it so I wouldn't mind on u going full details lol if u have like anything else to talk abt personality whise or lil hcs you have about him, please do. You really made me so invested in that hard-working bunny!! The whole thing about Cain not fitting vs 'now u have someone's life with you but hey you still have to find ur own purpose dummy' - must've been just too hard. He deserves a rest. You are asking a super good question, I was itching to talk about this actually, but didnt want to add three more pages to my previous answer hahaha.
I actually have a little story for you! I usually write for myself and my partner only, I havent really worked up the courage to publish anything so far, but I really wanted to share this one with you and so I posted it on ao3 :D link is right HERE. It is pretty sad, though, so I completely understand if you do not feel like reading, but if you want more context, it is there :)

Mia had a family of her own, her partners being Diabo, a Hrothgar merchant, and Mikh, a miqo'te rascal. I used to joke with my partner about their house basically just being a giant cat nest hahaha. Eventually, Arnaud Durendaire joins in, which is a ghost of an Ishgardian dragoon. Yes, it is pretty silly, but I always loved ghosts and have a tendency to make characters of various levels of cryptid energy and obviously had to continue said tradition in FF as well xD.
Diabo basically takes him for his own and so does the rest of the family, so he is practically their son. Arnie had a shit family to begin with, the only thing his parents cared for was his success to further the family prestige, and he himself knew nothing besides training and study, before dying too young at the claws of Dravanians. In a way, Arnie got a second chance at a somewhat normal life and family and friends that really love and care about him.
From NPCS, all Scions are like an extended family to Mia, closest relationship she had was with Yda and Papalymo, because they met each other first, as well as Minfilia. Y'Shtola was basically a sister to her, until they had a falling out during Shadowbringers, because Mia thought Shtola became too ruthless and didnt agree with how she talked to Ryne especially. They made up eventually, but the strain in the relationship was still there.
G'Raha is another sibling in all but name, their relationship being extremely close.
The twins are practically her kids. They have their own rooms in their house as well. But then again, the twins are every WOL's almost kids or siblings, arent they hahaha.
Zenos is a special case. Mia always felt drawn to him, despite being unable to figure out why. She wanted to understand him, help him, in a way. It was only after he killed himself that she realized the reason was because he and she were the same in a way, two sides of the same coin. All that power, yet Zenos had noone who tempered him. Noone who cared or tried to understand. Mia was fortunate to have so many loved ones around her, that helped guide her. In a way, she saw herself in him, saw a version of herself that never got to be loved. Only after he died did she realize how awfully alone she truly was, deep down. Because noone, no matter how much they tried, could fully understand the burden and inherent loneliness of her position, noone but him, or so she thought, at least.
When Cain comes to the scene, her original family is... well things are complicated, as one would expect. Diabo shut down, not really wanting to even look at Cain because it just reminds him of everything. Mikh takes it better, eventually finding her way back to him, because, in her words, "Cain smells like Mia did."
Scions take it... well, that depends, I guess. Thancred was one of the most suspicious ones, but after realizing it was true, he warmed up to Cain a lot. In a way, he went trough similiar stuff with Ryne and Minfilia, therefore it was easier for him to relate than the rest. Thancred also has the most guilt of not protecting Mia, of failing her. Urianger saw Thancred trust Cain and so he does too, slowly.
Shtola is the hardest to come around, despite being able to see that unmistakable hue of ember in Cain's soul.
Raha tries his damndest to be supportive, but it is extremely hard for him, because after EVERYTHING they went trough, after EVERYTHING he did, he still lost her again.
The twins take it hard, because it's like losing family, but they try their best to be supportive. Alphinaud does, especially.
It is in Garlemald that Cain meets a new character, an escaped Garlean test subject, a female Viera. She has no name, only thing she was called was Project Raziel, so after Cain asks her about it, he inquires if she would want a name and offers that he could think of one for her, because she herself doesnt really care.
He settles on Carrion, the name just coming to his lips. Carrie for short. Carrie is basically Zenos in a viera body, which is hilarious, in a way, because of his already extremely weird relationship with the man. (Having to fight him again with Mia's memories and feelings and feeling the same way about him, despite wanting to punch him in the face so bad).
So, in a way, the only person who gives him hugs is Mikh, for now at least, and we love her for it.
This is Mia before and after Shadowbringers. Her eye got injured in the Shinryu fight, and it completely lost color in SHB, along with her hair. She grew her hair back after she got rid of the light, slowly, but her eye stayed white.

My Thoughts: This is basically a kind of scifi/au character study of Price but it’s very well done and I highly recommend.
Thanatos Denied by UrgentOrange (Gen)
Summary: *MW3 AU* After their nearly fatal encounter with Shepherd, Soap and Price are forced to lie low in Afghanistan, but soon find themselves on the run from former allies. ( Plenty of violence and drug use in this one - for mature readers.) (122k)
My Thoughts: If you’re looking for extreme angst with character introspection: this is exactly what you need! I think about this one a lot.
Blood Brothers by breathe_out (Gen)
Summary: What if Soap had lived? (1k)
My Thoughts: Soap lives! Read it >:)
The Barracks by doberman (Soap/Price)
Summary: The Barracks is a military-inspired inn based within Hereford, England, where good friends Soap and Ghost work. One day during his lunch, Soap sketches a handsome stranger in his journal. Summary: This is simply a rewrite of the end of MW2 and the beginning of MW3 with just some minor changes to fit in Soap/Price. (5k)

Summary: RSASS And Shine is a decidedly unique little cafe in Hereford, England owned by best friends, Ghost, Roach, and Soap.
His friends have each other, but all Soap has is his journal and his cat, until a new face comes in through the squeaky-but stylishly bullet lined door. (29k)

On the Listening Reading Method front i have HIT A SWEET SPOT. FINALLY. Months of trying and I found a way to do it more conveniently and in a way much more doable if you like me cannot fucking focus for long periods.
Step 1: read the chapter in a language you fully understand (or some chapters ahead so you don’t have to do this as much later, or the whole book). Aka read in your native language (or a language you understand well) to get context. This is L1 language. You don’t have to do this if it’s a book you already read once and remember well, and you don’t have to do this right before you do the rest (if you can remember the overall context you’re good even if there’s a month between this and the other steps etc).
This is obviously tolerant of breaks - read however you like, just get some context.
Step 2: listen to target language (L2) audiobook, while following target language (L2) text.
Ideally, this is where you might read it in the target language if you can keep up with the audio. If you are reading digitally then a quick popup dictionary will benefit you (if you want to comprehend what text you’re following along and need the dictionary). Alternatively if you have a parallel text next to each other - that also helps if you want to look up a word. But word lookup isn’t necessary.
I’ve been doing this either in Pleco - just clicking a word as desired, or by looking at an online parallel text (bilinguis.com works amazing). Both of these options work very easily IF YOU GET AUDIO THAT MATCHES TEXT. The key here is FIND MATCHING AUDIO AND TEXT.
I can’t emphasize how much easier Listening Reading Method is when the text and audio MATCH. Mine FINALLY match and it makes my life so much fucking easier.
Ideally if these match you will find this much easier: audio starts and ends at same time chapter text starts and ends (seriously this is the biggest thing). The audio ideally does not shorten/omit sections of text (however you can adapt if it’s only small changes like a few missing sentences/changed phrases in a while chapter). The text is the same as the audio generally (not edited text - I tried to use the print text guardian with the audiobook based on the webnovel and wayyy too many sections were different it was too hard to follow). If you can find a source where everything (except maybe a few sentences/phrases) are the same, it will be much easier. It will be so easy you can start and pause whenever you want - breaking L R into 5-10 minute chunks if you like me can’t fucking do something too long without breaks. If the text and audio match very well, it is much easier to just pause the audio, notice the place u left the text, and come back to it.
Step 3: follow along with your L1 text (native language/language you understand) while trying to understand the L2 target language audio.
How to make this easier: if you have Pleco, simply click the dictate text button. It will popup every definition as it reads it. I actually find I practice LISTENING skills more when during this step I don’t look at the Chinese text much (because when I look at the Chinese I start tuning out the audio more). I have noticed I can often predict what the word means before I actually see a definition. Also in Pleco since it’s word by word, you don’t spend time figuring out the place in the English text the audio corresponds to - the audio dictation tool highlights the Chinese it’s reading constantly. For me, constantly following along to the Chinese text (or French if doing it for french) makes this step much easier. Alternately: use a parallel text, and glance at L2 target language text whenever you get lost/it gets hard to follow where you’re at. Simply having the target language L2 to refer to makes it so much easier to NOT get lost when listening.
Tools that make L R easier:
Literally look up on YouTube “audio target-language” and “target-language text.” Do it. Make your life easier! There’s a lot of them on YouTube that have for example both Chinese and English text on screen, Chinese audio. All of the work is done for you - you don’t have to keep your place in a text, you can pause and continue whenever! Even if you can just find target language audio-text, makes life much easier that someone else set it up for you.
Also japanese audiobooks sometimes have auto captions which are decent enough.
If you’re doing a Chinese book, get on ximayala app you might find well a matching audiobook. Youtube may also have a decent audiobook (also try bilibili i just found an unofficial 天涯客 audiobook - also tbh sometimes with Chinese the unofficial audiobooks will match chapter beginning/ends better than official ones but it depends).
For text, try bilinguis.com. While the selection of stories is small, they have very convienient parallel texts (which makes keeping yourself from getting lost easier). I was easily able to find audiobooks on YouTube or ximayala that would match the bilinguis texts.
Bidireader, a tool I linked the other day, can generate parallel texts if you can copy paste the texts in. Again, makes it so much easier to not have to focus so hard if you have a parallel text and can glance at the target language to keep yourself from getting lost.
Screen Reader tools - if you have a phone/computer, you may have a screen reader tool to read audio on screen aloud. Not ideal, but will work if you just want some audio practice with text you see and can’t get an audiobook to match it! Also Idiom app can read text aloud.
I mentioned above - I just use Pleco app dictation to do step 3, so that’s my step 3 audio. It’s not as good as the audiobook! But for quickly giving me a chance to match audio to definition, it works fine. Sort of like using a textbook with very stilted audio/just a pronunciation guide (Pleco), and a natural audiobook. It works fine. If you can find a parallel text, you can technically just do some computer generated audio (Idiom app, Pleco, Screen Reader, etc) and look at the L1 language for step 3 (if you absolutely can’t find an audiobook that you like that matches and want to use that text).

Native audiobooks do sound so much better than generated audio, so if you CAN use them, do. At least for step 2 I think (target language audio with target language text).
Bilinguis.com has nice free parallel texts, YouTube has some perfect premade videos to do L R, Pleco can do step 3 in a pinch (if you can’t find a parallel text). Bidireader tool allows you to make parallel texts.
I find I actually find step 2 THEN step 3, as originally intended, helps me most? I’ve tried it both orders.
When I do step 2 first I practice extensive reading since I don’t look words up generally, I practice listening to audio in the bg so I can skim ahead and skim backwards (so training myself to pay partial attention to listening). I get an overall context for the story (I pick up most of what’s going on), I work on speeding up my reading speed (I need to keep up with audio, and often I’ll read a little ahead of the audio). I like it a lot - it’s like regular extensive reading, but I get some sound reinforcement. And I can look up a handful of words if I want. And I’m forced to CONTINUE so I don’t read too slow. (However - regular extensive reading has its place, I have more time in regular extensive reading to figure out new Hanzi and sayings and remember them).
When I do step 3 LAST I find that because I already know most of the chapter (since in step 2 I followed almost everything), I can focus all of my attention into listening. I really hear what words are being said (especially since I just practiced listening once before in step 2). Especially doing it in Pleco, where the English popup definitions show up and disappear so FAST, I really rely on my ears most. Especially when I barely look at the Chinese - because the English shows up so fast and isn’t always the best definition, so I mostly am following based on my listening skills. Also it means in step 3 since I’m comfortable with the main plot, and sound, I can focus my attention on really looking at the new words I want to learn. 插 缩 宿舍楼 权利 were some words I could focus on last time, actually listening to their pronunciation better. Etc. So I do think... for me doing it as actual step 3 when doing it this specific way seems to help more. That way step 2 is mostly reading and sentence flow when listening, and step 3 is more time for new word focus and listening skills in general. Also I find the word-reinforcement I get in the next chapters step 2 anyway.
I’ve done 5 chapters of Guardian in 2 days (so yeah I’d say this way of L R is easier for me to do lol!). 1 chapter of Alice in wonderland in chinese (again bilinguis with a good audio from ximayala worked perfect), 1 chapter from a YouTube premade video. I do think in some ways step 2 actually helps me the most (reading wise, and maybe even over all?). I find there’s definitely value in me doing step 2 on its own, even if I don’t do any of the other steps.
I find the L R combo steps have already helped my listening skills this small amount I’ve done. Which is kinda shocking to me tbh. When I did the Alice in wonderland chinese chapter, first I just listened to the audio in the background. I could follow all of it about Alice’s sister reading, her following a rabbit and falling, her picking up a jar and setting it on another shelf as she fell, without any text to look at. I think part of it is simply Alice in wonderland has more short words I know and less descriptive words I do Not know compared to Guardian. And I have prior context for what happens in the chapter. Still. I found it much easier to catch some details since last time I tried. So I’m going to keep doing L R while I feel like it, see if it helps any more.

quite often these days! i have tons of images saved as reference for all sorts of things. even if i dont end up using any, i like to browse for inspo! the reference i use most is.... my own hand!! 99% of the time i’ll give my own a quick study in the middle of sketching :p
27) For digital artists: how many layers does a typical piece require?
im a lazy artist, i use as little layers as it takes to complete a piece! i hate having too many layers bc i never name them, and its a bitch trying to find that One Thing if i have too many. if im doing flats its usually just 4, sketch, lines, colour, and an overlay (and i usually just merge everything at the end). if i need to do shading and a bg, i can have like 40 layers!

* BACKGROUND OVERVIEW !
axel was born the only child to two loving parents, an american father whose family has run a large media conglomerate for decades ( i got insp from hbo succession ok ), and a french mother whose family has a large hand in the development of nuclear energy in france ! so like ........ $$$$$$
there were probably a hundred timelines in which axel became a spoiled brat, but the universe was fortunate and brought two of the most kind-hearted souls that were ( relatively ) uncorrupted by the power and wealth that their families brought ( they were the youngest in their families, probs. youngest child syndrome *coughs* me ). he grew up in a loving household, one that was open and generous—their four empty bedrooms were always available for axel’s friends to stay over if they needed,
axel learned from their optimism, from their generosity—why be manipulative, when his family had the means to procure anything with ease ? it was a dangerous bubble to grow up in, but his parents, being forward thinkers too, saw him as an equal growing up. they’d tell him all the family drama as they rolled their eyes. needless to say, they didn’t have to work too hard to get by in life, to live in luxury.
TW DEATH. on the eve of his parents’ anniversary when axel was sixteen, a sophomore in high school, his parents died in a tragic car accident in paris on the way back to the airport. he was left devastated, alone in a home with no one to return to. END TW.
while he wasn’t around at cape coral, he was sent to live with his uncle ( his father’s brother ) and aunt, where he finally got immersed into the cutthroat life of the roy family, no longer skirting the edges of the family business. he would constantly get compared to his cousins all the time, which he hated. his aunt and uncle also expected him to follow in his family’s footsteps and continue working at the family company—which he also despised, but didn’t voice openly. he’d known about the shady deals, thought the monopolization of media was an evil he’d want to avoid.
finding it hard to express his pain and loneliness after his parents’ death, axel started taking up art and painting more seriously than just a hobby. he painted and painted and painted, staying after school in the art studios just to let his emotions out somehow. and he became talented—garnering interest from his teachers, his peers, the portland community, and eventually worldwide with his social media following.
TW DRUGS. but the art didn’t spark out of nowhere—he certainly needed help, both to inspire his works, but also to relieve the pain of loneliness, to help him transition from his old life to a new. it was weed at first, but he slowly started dabbling in acid, cocaine, and molly, amongst other things. END TW.
now at cape coral, he’s continuing pursuing his career as an artist, with a humble following, slew of awards under his belt, a few international articles published about his unique genre ( see @ canvas section on my pinterest board here ), and has been invited to have his work exhibitioned in a galleries across the nation.
* PERSONALITY !
axel certainly hasn’t lost the positive charm that he had grown up around, with parents like his. he’s pretty go-with-the-flow ( in a sense, far less uptight than his cousins, and probably many other cape coral students ), preferring to stay on the sidelines than get into the spotlight ( unless it’s the art scene ! ).
he’s generous, and sometimes doesn’t realize when he’s being taken advantage of—another trait he’s probably received from his parents, who were far too giving for their own good.
he’s kind, but not a pushover—he’s becoming more confident in who he is, and won’t back down from pushing back in conversations, nor let his friends make terrible decision for themselves. sometimes he’s a bit stubborn in that capacity.
he’s a pretty good listener, and with his share of heartbreaks and pains, he’s been known to give pretty good advice while he’s sitting at his easel, painting away. whether or not he chooses to follow that same advice himself—a little less certain.
he certainly still focuses on his studies—being part of the honors society—as he continues to pursue a double major in visual studies and psychology. perhaps the interest in drugs came first from his interest in the mind itself. so, he’s definitely an academic, but he likes to have fun, too.
ambitious, yes—in the artistic development sense. otherwise, spontaneous, for sure. he’s chasing highs and new experiences that will inspire his artwork in the future.
he’s fiercely loyal to those who he trusts, but wouldn’t necessarily go too far out of line to protect them. he’ll certainly go out of his way to pick someone up in one of the several cars he has ( he’d never had the heart to sell his parents’ cars ), to chat about problems, to work things out—but he probably doesn’t have the chops in him to break laws for people. but he’d never sell them out—he’d just stay silent.
sometimes he tends to zone out, sketching doodles on his notebooks and napkins, reveling in unique natural color combinations, being fascinated by shapes and lines. but he’ll also be the first to apologize for zoning out.
* CHARACTER TROPES !
TW: DEATH, DRUGS — growing up, axel roy-dreyfus was your classic BOY NEXT DOOR. shining smile, perfect manners, star on the cross-country team who had a charming smile and a brain, too. he was raised that way on purpose: picture perfect, for the only child of a roy and a dreyfus, two completely powerful families in the media world. but their expectations were not met because of strict curfews, or perfectly tied ties, no—axel wanted to be perfect to make them proud, because he loved them. because they were strong but caring, who saw axel as an equal. he never called them ‘mom’ or ‘dad’, but ‘william’ and ‘diana’ instead—they were his best friends, they never hid anything from him—not the family drama, not company secrets. they were the perfect little family, one that his friends often envied, but sometimes good things fall apart.
their little picturesque bubble burst quickly when his parents passed away in a car accident when axel was sixteen, and he was thrust into the bustling life of the roy family. though he was privy to the family drama through the lens of his parents before, he never realized how deeply cutthroat and horrible business could be. he would be constantly compared to his older cousins, would be on the receiving end of inquiries about where he would be attending college (cape coral, of course—their entire family’s alma mater). he found himself playing the role of the CONTENDER, often, battling unrealistic expectations to keep his family happy, yes, but more importantly, himself sane. but with axel’s loneliness, with his sadness came an awakening. unable to properly express himself with words anymore, he turned to art. and people realized that he had a gift like no other.
art became a refuge for him—he’d spend hours upon hours in the studios at school, and when he outgrew them (or rather, found other means of inspiration through pills and other substances), he moved his creative space to his dorm, his apartment—wherever he had space to just be. people started catching onto his talent: teachers and professors first, then peers, classmates, friends who supported his endeavors. purchases made their way across the world and his name became more and more familiar. his art is raw, vulnerable, not for the aesthetic but for the emotion elicited from symbols, colors, shapes. it’s his own genre, one that people have been more and more intrigued by these days. it’s gotten to his head, a little, surely—that he’s made a name for himself outside of the roys and the dreyfuses. he now has a bit of confidence behind him, being able to list his earnings and the recognition he has received at local galas—and people are starting to accept him for his future, too. it fuels him, makes him a HOTSHOT, but of course, not everyone knows about the measures he takes to ensure his creative juices keep flowing.
outside of his own personal journey, axel is known to be a loyal friend. the relationship he had with his parents certainly prepared him to be the shoulder to cry on, to give sage advice to people in need. he jokes that his apartment is now half an art studio, half a therapist’s office, by the nature that many people swing by to chat while he paints (sober, or not). he relied on his friends when his parents passed away, not exactly receiving the emotional support from his family that he needed. in that way, he’ll never sell someone out, never tell someone’s secret without their permission. in the perspective of those he cares about, he could be labeled a FERRYMAN, one who helps guide those who are in need of advice or just someone to talk something through with.

TW: DRUGS — this song describes his personality and love life—unfortunately, he can be a bit reckless when it comes to his own well-being. he certainly dabbles in more than a few drugs, acid and marijuana mostly, to enhance his creative abilities, as it was a piece that he had painted during an acid trip that garnered him the fame and respect he has now. he tries to rationalize it as a creative process, as something necessary to push his artistry to the next level. similarly, in his love life, i imagine that he gets himself into rather toxic relationships. although he, himself, is a selfless person, especially to those he is loyal to, he sometimes doesn’t exactly realize when things are unhealthy to him—bad habits, you could say. he’ll keep crawling back to people as long as they make him feel good, even just for a night.

he has an instagram page, showcasing his artwork, that has 82.7k followers at the moment. he doesn’t post his face or anything about him personally, just cryptic descriptions of vulnerable art.
he keeps his two last names out of respect and love for his parents—not, like many people believe, to be able to milk the advantages to being born to two families that control great media conglomerates in the world.
one of his most damning vices is cigarettes. he smokes them to feel calm, and often needs someone to swat them away from him.
his apartment is full to the brim of canvases and paintings—it’s honestly a zoo. layers of works line the walls of the hallways, whatever’s newest being the furthest out. there are some hidden gems laying around, if anyone were interested in checking.
he has ear piercings—much to his extended family’s dismay. he never used to wear it around when his aunt and uncle were present, but ever since his newfound confidence has bubbled up in his chest, he doesn’t care anymore.
he’s bisexual.
there’s an enormous chalkboard in his apartment too, and visitors are encouraged to draw and write messages on it—as long as they don’t erase his grocery list. he finds inspiration for his work on there a lot.
he’s a 3x state chess champion—it’s a skill he was taught as a kid, and likes how he had practice reading people from the game.
there’s an apartment in his name in the 7th arrondissement of paris, where he escapes to from time to time, the musée d’orsay is his favorite place on earth.
axel absolutely adores train rides. the ride from new york city (where his aunt and uncle live, and where his parents used to live) up to cape coral is some undisturbed peace where he likes to just sit and think, enjoying the changing colors of the autumn leaves.

childhood friends / best friends / ride or dies: likely other cape coral students who have been around a long time, they’ve seen axel through his ups n downs, were there for him when his parents passed, and get up to shenanigans at galas and charity events. the elite kids basically. they’re the siblings he’s never had, he’d protect them with his life and offer advice and paint things for them !
someone who goes with him to art museums pls he’d be super excited and cute and tell them everything about high renaissance art and theories of design patterns
good influence, someone who will swat cigarettes out of his hands and keeps him working on his assignments when all he’d rather do is paint. they keep him in line, and although axel might whine a little at first, he really values their friendship and them always looking after him. i’m thinking rebe/ander vibes from this season.
on the other hand, a bad influence, who might introduce him to different drugs, trip on acid with him as he paints, maybe causes him to spend his enormous trust fund on random shit.
tour guide, axel is good-natured and caring, and that doesn’t stop with the current cape coral students. even if some of his peers and his family might scorn him for being more open to them, he wouldn’t hesitate to show some of the new students around and show them the ropes. besides, he knows what it feels like to want to make a name for yourself.
former roommates (probably a cape coral student), who may or may not have been close.
current roommates (probably also a cape coral student), who may or may not mind the fact that he’s been filling their apartment with enormous canvases, probably super super close friend to his, probably someone whose family probably is close to his, too.
neighbors, there’s a lot of possibility here !! maybe they hated the way axel seemed to blare his speakers when he’s painting and tripping, they could be friends who storm each others’ rooms when they’re having bad days. his couch is practically a therapists’ couch at this point.
a critic, who pushes him to be a better artist. to dig deeper, to think further, to challenge himself and his abilities — which might be his downfall, considering he’s already diving into drug use.
his uh ……… first male hookup ??? this probably would have happened maybe like a year ago after him n giuliana broke up !!! he came out as bisexual in high school but had a long-term gf for a while so it would have been his first time rlly experimenting ya feel

i haven’t uhh gotten around to a bio but i’ll also try to keep this as simple n concise as possible ??
death due to birth tw. baby boy is born as august tenold in los angeles, no dad in sight and mother passed. spent three/four days in the hospital until his grandmother finally made it across the country from new york to take him home to brooklyn where he would spend the next SEVENTEEN years.
they weren’t very well off and by that i mean that they had to sometimes worry about heat, leaks when it rained too much, warm water, so forth, but they were lucky enough to be able to afford a two bedroom.
BUT august never attended a public school once. before her death she had been promised the best education for their son, in place of a role in his life. grandma would take the train with august everyday, an hour and a half to school, and she luckily found a job near his school because the commute alone was a journey. three hour commute, five times a week, and by the time he was in fourth grade he could find his way to school himself.
it was at school that he saw such a stark difference in lifestyle. it only got worse as he got older and whatever they bought would only become more and more expensive. it was there he learned that there was power and influence in wealth when he would get detention for defending himself in a fight he didn’t start while the others got away with things because of family names.
after elementary school is when boarding school starts, where he only sees his grandmother during summer vacations because flights back home only to stay for winter break are too expensive. where he gets special permission to leave school grounds because he needs a job to earn some spending money.
grandma falls ill in the beginning of his sophomore year, but he’s so busy with school and they rarely see each other as it is ( only during the summers ), that he only finds out when he’s a junior becoming a senior. his entire summer is spent working to help pay rent for the apartment no one was living in, and then his nights at the hospital. the staff allow him a makeshift bed after he’s spent a week sleeping there, and as reluctant as he is, his grandmother tells him to go to school to continue his last year, and he obliges. she tells him she’ll be there for his graduation, and it becomes the last time he sees her.
she passes in the middle of his senior year and it’s quickly followed by news that he has a new guardian. his father, who can’t be older than thirty five years old, is geoffrey reyn, ceo of reyn enterprises ( think of wayne enterprises in that they literally have their hands in everything ). he’s come under some heavy fire recently and is not favored by the public, but what’s a better than a long lost son sob story to cover it up ??
violence tw. literally shows up to school the next day and the energy is different because he’s for once at the top of the pyramid. the same people who had tormented him for years step on his toes and he fights back knowing he has a bite to match his bark now. the first time he feels that smug feeling of power is when he leaves the principal’s office for the first time with just a tissue.
he’s dragged around places by his dad during that summer, asked about his new life, how much better it is than living in the shabby two bedroom apartment in brooklyn and not once asked about his grandmother or if he got to attend her funeral ( which he did not ). hurriedly having applied to ashcroft, he got in, and soon he was shipped off elsewhere.
child abuse and violence tw. relationship with his dad was always very violent, but august never took hits sitting down. august wasn’t the grateful puppet geoffrey had needed, and his dad was not a savior. there’s still a lot of constraint and control he tries to place on his son, however, even though years of failure have only confirmed he can’t be controlled. the last few years, however, had been running smoothly. business and econ were finally taken up as majors and minors, their interactions less turbulent, and this was all due to one thing: octavia.
so let’s backtrack a lillll so august first meets octavia when he's 17 where he’s working off the books the job his granny has ( cleaning up after classes at a prestigious ballet studio ) due to her back acting up. he becomes infatuated with her, her lifestyle, and they quickly grow closer. she builds some sort of greed within him to want to be good enough for someone like her, or maybe just her. he swears it, and then his granny passes. the next time he meets her is two years down the line at some gala his dad would insist he attend, and they spend the night stowed away in an empty ballroom, a bottle of champagne in hand and a secret kiss shared behind closed doors. she tells him she’s thinking of applying to ashcroft and he insists that she must, that he’d wait for her. the following year, he’s there to greet her on campus, and immediately they’re an item.
around all this time, his relationship with his dad is supperr rocky. every time they spoke they fought and when august hung up on him too much, he’d appear on campus ( an effective way of getting august not to hang up ). he’s met with octavia and her parents and he realizes the kind of status he has to uphold in order to date someone like her. he finally declares the major his father had chosen for him and understands it’s a choice he has to make to stay with her. he becomes much too obedient with his dad, knowing that the way to stay in favor with her parents would be to finally yield to what his dad wanted. so he becomes a proper heir, majoring in the correct field, taking his studies more seriously, acting and talking the right way. he falls in line to keep her, he gets along with everyone and it’s all because she dulls his sharp edges and he can lean on her. a lot of his life begins to warp around her, and that’s when his dad threatens to touch the thing that had been keeping the waters still.
geoffrey had been having complications in a business deal that octavia’s dad was refusing to agree to. with the knowledge of his crimes, getting rid of the other would be easy, and closing the deal even easier. not wanting to be tainted with such an image, he tells august to end things and even goes as far as to threaten her safety. there isn’t a doubt in august’s mind he’d follow through, knowing all the dirt on his new surname, and things with octavia come to an end, though they continue to keep seeing each other as she begins her new relationship.
has fallen into a bit of a depressive slump, even after the rest of the semester was given off to them. for the first few days afterwards, no one really sees him around. he spends his days locked up in his room, not touching his assignments and not answering to the house maids that knock on his door. he’s completely heartbroken because truly, he believed the rest of his life would be spent with octavia. then comes the anger almost immediately, because while alcohol and drugs allows him to ease the pain it doesn’t allow him to forget, and after coming to bail him out of jail three times, his father stops picking up the phone and cuts august off, taking his cards, cars, everything, unless there’s a promise to behave better. obviously his father is not someone he can come to lean on emotionally for this, and so he picks up other ways of easing the pain: alcohol, drugs, adrenaline, women.
her death is very heavily placed on him for an obvious reason ( she was the love of his life ) but it also comes with the struggle of finishing his degree. he’s so close to it, yet he feels like there’s really no reason for him to continue on with it. octavia had been the sole reason his relationship with his father had been steady. now that she’s out of the picture, there’s no need for a business degree, no need for a shining reputation, no need for whatever upper class bullshit. that’s the mindset that he’s in going into the last semester of college with, and whether he royally fucks up his future because of his grief or if he decides to push through because that’s what octavia would have wanted is up in the air.
so as usual i’m better at describing bg rather than personality so bear with me.
getting to know august is easy, because he makes it easy. he’s amiable, playful, witty, sarcastic to a fault, but he’s also pessimistic. without octavia’s light to balance it out he’s kind of let himself sink into that cynical mindset that has always been overbearing. unlike his father, however, his anger is always quiet, still, and strikes when least expected. there’s never a scene because there’s never yelling ( unless it’s to his dad ), always low voices that drip with threats and cold eyes that warn of something worse to come if the line keeps being tread. how his knuckles become bloody is always a mystery, because you never heard about august reyn getting into a fight until another kid showed up the next day with a black eye. now, there isn’t much that can be done to bring that out in him, but that’s the dangerous part that people always tell you to look out for. it’s because he always seem so easy going that people don’t ever see the darkness until it’s too late.
i did not do a good job at explaining his personality bc i never do sdfkjsndkf BASICALLY he’s?? p chill. always seems to have that easy look on his face. always looking for trouble and getting into it with the principal, or any authority figure tbh bc fuck them. looking for a good time and is always the one to hype up the party if it feels like it’s dying. lives off of adrenaline and nicotine. will call you out on your ignorant bullshit. hates rich people even though he’s one of them and will drag anyone at ashcroft that he sees abusing their power, even though he uses his name to get away with so many things. is the first person called in his friend group if there’s a fight going down. is soooo overly sarcastic that at times it sounds like he’s being serious. has serious eye rolling problems. doesn’t yell during fights but will yell during debates and get really heated.

I'm gonna start watching The Boyz 'Flower Snack' & thought it would be nice to post my thoughts during the episodes, mostly because I'm barely 15min in & this is already too funny
So here we go!
Episode 1.
• I love the concept of them running a snack show instead of this being a survival show or something like that, this feels more entertaining and fun
• I can believe so many people seem to knew about them since predebut but they don't have as much recognition on Korea :(
• Kevin looks a lot different in predebut as now, but he's still baby
• Their dorm looks so clean wtf normally bg dorms are messy but theirs look organized
• Also I still cant believe all 12 of them lived/live in the same apartment what the hell
• Ngl I'm trying not to get attached to Hwall to save a heartbreak but he's too cute :c
• Can't believe Hyuksoo is really going to help them running the snack bar, how did the company get him to that xd
•+ Younghoon not even realizing a deadass complete man was sitting on their couch HOW DID HE NOT SEE HIM??
• The fact that it took them a while to even see there was a grown ass man on their living takes me out aksksks
• Also Juyeon going straight for a hug with Hyuksoo was really cute, he was very excited (*´ω｀*)
• Them saying Sangyeon is a good leader and showing how he leads them doing the breakfast was really nice uwu
• The fact that they apologized because they had almost no food for Hyuksoo 😭😭

At first I wanted to do just episode one today because they're pretty long but I'm deadass intrigued by their cliffhanger so I'm going to watch the beginning of episode 2 🤡
Episode 2!
• okay that intro of them doing the mannequin challenge was cute
• okay but they telling Juyeon he's infected was really mean, like that wasn't funny he honestly looked concerned
• Juyeon thought he was sick but he still didn't want to slow the boys down ;(
• Everybody saying they had to do it together 😭
• Sunwoo saying he was more worried about Juyeon than the restaurant (╥﹏╥)
• dude i was this closed to actually start crying
• Kevin looking that shit up as the INTELLIGENT, SMART men that he is, love his two braincells
• I knew it was a prank
• lmao Sangyeon deadass said: let's give Juyeon a heart attack today
• i hate them for choosing Juyeon
• They chose him because he trust everything very easily,,, the way my heart broke
• they didn't need it to drag it up for so long why are they like this
• Sunwoo was so worried ☹️
• Juyeon was really worried about himself and yet the laughed so hard when they told him it was a prank
• Sangyeon went as far as fake crying & Hyunjae was so mean, these men's are savages
• Sunwoo getting mad and defensive for Juyeon, we love that
• Sangyeon said the he actually cried because he thought "what if one of us gets sick?", he stayed days studying how to open a restaurant and talking notes, he took tests about it, he took charge of the certifications for the restaurant. I'm so proud of him as a leader, it's never an easy job but he works hard and takes care of the boyz, he's such a great leader 💜

I'm not really hoping for anyone to read this long ass post, I just wanted to had my thoughts about the show in some place so I can look back at them sometime.

Favorite PC Game
The Sims 2, hands down. It’s probably the game I’ve played more than any other, ever, and I still play it from time to time. I like it more than the sequels despite the additions EA has made, bc it still feels like the best game to play multigenerational families and also if you’re a control freak like me. I always loved the game bc I’m an obsessive multitasker and I love having it running in the bg while I do other things. I spent many a day studying or doing HW while my Sims were living their lives on my screen in front of me. I have many fond memories of the game, and all the amazing mods, too. (Although the mods for S4 are incredible, I just haven’t been sucked into it quite as much.)
Favorite Trivia
Well, it’s hard to pick a favorite, since I love acquiring knowledge, but one of my favorites is related to some of the weird English grammar rules we have.
(I promise you this lead up is relevant, but you can skip to the end if you really want.)
During the Middle Ages, English was considered the language of the lower classes. The upper classes mostly spoke French (which is why a common language is still called a “lingua franca” to this day) or Latin, and all literature was written in either of those two languages for the most part. A few major exceptions are the King James translation of the Bible and The Canterbury Tales, which began the movement toward texts being published in English, and upper classes beginning to speak it as well.
The problem was, Middle English was limited by its vocabulary, so during Shakespeare’s time (we are already in “modern,” if archaic English by now), there was a huge drive to expand the language, and a lot of experimentation occurred, pulling stuff from other languages like French, Greek, and Latin, and making up words. Anything went during this time, and it was perfectly acceptable to say something like “more betterer,” for example.
What happened was, after this, during the Enlightenment, people looked at the horrific mess that was the monster English had become and decided they needed to standardize it, and so they put out the first real dictionaries in an attempt to standardize words and spelling.
This continued into the 19th century, and along with trying to solidify the “right” and “wrong” words and spellings, elitists decided that grammar needed to be standardized and codified as well. So they literally sat down and made up a lot of the rules that we are taught are “absolutes” by many grammar nazis today.
And the one that is my absolute favorite bc of its sheer ridiculousness (and the reason for this long lead up) has to do with prepositions. Specifically, the rule that states that:
No clause or sentence should end in a preposition.
(That means, don’t say, “where’s the door at,” for example.)
Do you know WHY we have this rule? Bc during this time, the rule makers decided that grammar should be logical, and thus, because the prefix “pre” means “before,” it was illogical to end with a “preposition.”
Seriously.
So, the moral of the story is, do whatever you want as a writer. As long as your reader can understand you, go wild, because the rules are probably made up anyway.

Review: This one is literally a JJP classic. Long af but sooo worth the read. The characters really just grow on you, even if they are dumb af sometimes :( also GREAT SMUT

Summary: Newly graduated, Jinyoung is determined to try new things. New parties, new boys, and when Mark asks for a favor, even volunteering as a counselor at summer camp. But new experiences can get complicated, and he quickly finds himself a little out of his depth.
Review: Another classic. I live for the sex scene in at the end. Jaebum is confused and doesn't know how to stand up for himself and Jinyoung is jealous af but also kind of insecure. But they make a great pair together :'). ALSO great smut (!), awesome Markson and cute af Yugbam plus a bunch of great Kpop cross overs (!!).
* M - Charade by Sugarbowl
Summary: Jaebum and Jinyoung walk parallel paths in many ways, but Jaebum isn't interested in their intersection. Jaebum struggles to support his young son on his own, while everything seems to come easy for wealthy, charming Jinyoung. But when they're forced to partner for a project, Jaebum finds himself a bit more willing, and much more in need.
Review: Another great fic by Sugarbowl. It's still ongoing but this fic is so beautiful. Both Jaebum's and Jinyoung's feelings are portrayed extremely well and the way they come together is beautiful. Plus kid!Yugyeom is adorable. ♡♡

Summary: When the one book he needs for an important term paper has to remain in the campus library, Jinyoung catches the eye of Jaebum, a library assistant.
Review: Another classic. Jinyoung is dumb af in this fic, I literally was on the verge of screaming while reading this. But luckily Jaebum is soft af, so everything works out in the end :DD Great smut is always a plus! ♡

Summary: Jinyoung doesn't love him back.
an AU where jaebum and jinyoung have been best friends for their entire lives, and where jaebum has always been irrevocably in love with him but somehow, jinyoung just doesn't seem to get it.
Review: Another fic that makes me scream. LIKE SERIOUSlY WTF. My heart ached so much during this fic :( But as always everything works out but man, this was an emotional ride for me. ♡

Summary: Prince Jinyoung is destined for a lifetime of luxury, until he's shoved in a trunk and accidentally abducted. Im Jaebum clawed his way out of poverty to captain a pirate ship and... not much else, actually. Jinyoung could be his first real treasure, if Jaebum could just figure out how holding someone for ransom actually works.

I’m here!
Sorry, I’ve been around and I know I’ve got a lot of asks to answer and chat messages to get back with ((which I’ll be working on later today agpsy;odfiasd a it’s early as shit and I don’t want to be awake right now but here I am)). I’m here, but my original content accounts take up way more of my time anymore. I have a bunch of gifs and things to share that I’ve made, so those will be posted soon! I’m on Discord ((AeroSin19#2761)) a lot now. At first it was just to talk to one specific friend because I adored them so much, but others have joined me on there now so I just... am on there all the time.
Also, I need to take a moment to gush! I’m all about lifting people up when I enjoy their content and I need to shout about @penguinfrontier for a minute. I had been waiting a long time for their first original story to come out. I avoided all the spoilers and just waited patiently for it to be finished. This artist is so incredibly talented, I knew whatever she was cooking up was going to be fantastic. It came out, I bought it, and I’ve read it through a bunch of times now. It’s so fucking good. It’s called “Smile” and you can purchase it here! Every page is full color and the art is just stunning! It’s seriously so good and the story is sooooo beautiful! It’s not your conventional male/male story. It has feeling and it’s so real. The characters are so well fleshed out, there’s so much emotion, and god, I fell in love with it! I also sent a detailed message to the author and oh my god you guys she IS SO NICE I LOVE HER! I love her work, I’ve been a huge fan for a long time, and as a person she is just phenomenal! Supporting her is so worth it and the story is worth it -- just, everything about this is worth it. Check out her story, her blog, her pixiv, or her twitter! I have to speak up and say something when I read something I thoroughly enjoyed! I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS TO COME THIS STORY IS SO GOOD! So, if you’ve got the time, give her some love!
I’ve got writing contracts I’ve been fulfilling as well! So I’ve been around, I’ve just been busy with my own original content! I’m really happy and things are going so well for me! It’s unfortunate Gintama is ending soon, but everything must end eventually and Sorachi deserves a break after sticking with this for so long! I’ll be really active over the weekend since I’ll be doing a lot of my schoolwork and will be popping on here to procrastinate and/or give myself a break from it.
