⋆⭒˚.⋆ best brother ever ⋆⭒˚.⋆
(cw: f!reader, some cursing I think, the joke revolves around incest, not proofread, requested)
"Ok just stand here and be cute, got it?" You confirmed with Jaehyun, already trying and nearly failing to stop from laughing.
He eyes you suspiciously, "you're up to something."
You laughed, quickly masking it with a neutral expression, "Okay, just stand here, okay?"
He laughs, "Yes! I don't know how many times you've told me. Stand here, look pretty, act normal. Let's go."
You set up your phone on the kitchen counter in front of you both, you opened TikTok and set up the timer. You stood back and watched the video start recording, you crossed your arms across your chest, immediately breaking character.
This was a very clear and obvious result of you getting bored. An afternoon full of studying and filling your brain with too much information, which led to a “break,” which turned into an hour on TikTok where you saw this idea. You would do anything to get you away from homework, especially pranking Jaehyun.
"If you wanna get to him, you're gonna have to get through me-"
"Who are you threatening?" Jaehyun laughs loudly. Barely able to get a word out through his deep, dad-like laughter.
"Shut up!" You laugh, you take your stance again, "If you wanna get to him, you're gonna have to get through me first."
He snorts again but doesn't stop you. You pucker your lips and turn to Jaehyun to press a kiss to his lips. It's a short kiss, chaste and innocent. You run a hand down his chest before quickly and lightly smacking his ass.
"Hey- yo!" Jaehyun yells, jumping away from your wandering hands. The camera clearly embarrasses him, in any other situation this would honestly be tame.
You struggle to keep a laugh in, turning to the camera as you say, "best big brother ever."
His jaw drops in shock, "...oh- oh my god! What?! What?! What the fuck?!"
Johnny who was walking by runs into the kitchen, "what did you say?!"
Meanwhile you're bent over gasping for breath while you're laughing so hard you're beginning to cry. Jaehyun is busy wiping off his mouth and gagging, "she said- oh my god, ew! She kissed me and then said I was her brother!"
Johnny laughs, falling to the floor rolling around.
"We're never doing one of you little videos again! And you're not posting it either, got it?" Jaehyun parrots your earlier question.
Later when you do post the video and it got more than a little popular. A lot of big influencers reposting or commenting, the official frat page reposting and commenting, some brands even commented but the most liked comment wasn’t from any of them.
No. It was from Haechan. “Your man got the ick babe, nothing could put me off you😍😘😘”

My Little Brothers revenge Part 1
My little brothers revenge
The Hickman's were for the most part a average middle class family. both the parents worked and they had two children.
A 12 year old named Justin who had natural blond hair in a brush cut though he currently had it dyed indigo blue to go with his icy blue eyes. He had a jock's build (well as much as one could have at that age) and wasn't scared to use his physical power to his advantage.
his little brother Alex was short for his age and was always being mistaken for a 6 year old or worse when he was 9 and a half. He had red hair that went down to his shoulders and he kept in a pony tail and his checks were sprinkled with freckles. His slim body meant he was last to be picked for any sports though unlike his brother he was a strait A student and actually sometimes had to help his older brother with his homework, a fact that neither of them enjoyed.
It was their mother Anne (who Alex took after in appearance) who insisted that he help his big brother and it always ended with Justin pissed off and Alex hanging from a bed post by his sponge bob underoo's.
Their father who Justin took after in appearance refused to believe his little all star could be such a bully and so it was usually left to Alex to figure out a way to hold his own or go and whine to their mother, getting him labeled a mama's boy.
Still all brothers fight, it was just a fact of life and it might of all just gone this way with them being a semi happy family till the day the bully of a big brother took things a step too far and Alex decided that Justin had to be put in his place once and for all.
Alex had been hanging out with his friends Saturday afternoon, playing video games in the living room and having semi pissed off Justin who had wanted to watch a movie with HIS friends.
But mom and dad made sure that the TV time was shared and that both boys got a block of time and with their parents just down the block, Justin knew better then to try and strong arm them out.
Said friends were Kyle and Lyle, twins from down the block who had a semi creepy habit of finishing each others sentences and had light caramel skin and black hair in matching mushroom cuts. it was easy enough to tell them apart as by a semi quick of fate Lyle had brown eyes while Kyle had green.
Missing in action because he'd gone fishing with his dad was Max, anther shrimp who had dirty blond hair in a short Mohawk (his attempt to look cool which had backfired) and was so white he looked pale most of the time.
being shrimps themselves they had hit it off well with Alex and had formed a semi losers club of sorts, though Alex wasn't found of the name the twins who loved anything Steven king had insisted and he was out voted 2 to 1 since Max had joined the group after.
the boys were doing a retro gaming session of sorts, playing downloaded old games on a new machine and the game of choice for the moment was Ninja turtles two.
"Man, this game is so bad.." Lyle spoke up, playing as Leonardo.
"That it's almost good!" Kyle finished and was playing as Ralph.
"heh, that the fun part of these old games..you know they were giving it their all but just were limited." Alex said.
all three of them were seated on the hard wood floor of the living room though they had spread out a blanket since despite the chill of the October air his parents had refused to turn on the heat yet.
the twins nodded and Alex went to say something else when he hear the booming footsteps of his brother then a familiar stink hit his nose.
'No way, he wouldn't!' Alex thought.
"Hey Little Alexandra, Didn't mom tell you to toss out your pissy wet diapie when you got changed this morning? It's bad enough your a bed wetter, do you have to leave your soggy huggies around?" Justin asked.
and indeed Justin was holding out a totally soaked Spider-man print diaper in front of him, holding it with just a finger and his thumb and holding his nose.
Behind him were his friend Adam (Nicknamed grizz or grizzly because of his girth and wildly unkempt brown hair) and Rayne, actually a year younger then the other two but a head taller and so very, very much stupider. Rayne kept his head shaved because he thought it made him look more like the pro wrestlers that he so so loved.
"is that-" Lyle asked, pausing the game and turning to look.
"-A diaper?" Kyle finished, raising a eyebrow.
"JUSTIN! Mom told you not show people those! and I DID toss it out!" Alex huffed and whined, his cheeks going crimson then adding. "And DON'T call me Alexandra!"
"Whatever you say pamper pisser. Look, I went to go into our room to get something and was assaulted by the stink of your bed wetter pants." Justin said and then tossed the soggy thing at Alex, hitting him in the face and knocking him over.
the truth was Alex KNEW he'd tossed the diaper out this morning, he wasn't allowed to toss his very much needed bed time diapers out in the house trash because Dad and Justin would raise a fuss about it stinking up the house and he'd had to wait five minutes because the paper boy had stopped to talk to Mr. Johnson next door.
"JUSTIN GROSS!" Alex whined and sat up, whining and now smelling like stale pee.
"Whatever dork, go and toss your diaper out then take a shower..me and the guys are gonna start our movie early. Wonder twins, I'm sure you don't wanna stick around and hang out with a pamper packer like my little brother right?" Justin said.
"Hey! Leave him alone!" Lyle huffed and went to put a supportive hand on Alex's shoulder, but then pulled it back.
he was with his friend but that didn't mean he wanted to get any of the ick on him.
"What he said! Everyone matures differently! Heck, Lyle only just stopped needing a night light this year!" Kyle said, then pout his hands over his mouth as his brother glared at him.
"...Pfffftt BWHAHAHAHAHA!" all three big bullies broke into gut busting laughter.
"I'm not the one who has to suck on a pacifier during thunder storms!" Lyle shot back and blew a raspberry at his twin who huffed and glared.
the bullies naturally were loving it as the twins only dug themselves in deeper and Alex just face palmed.
"Guys, you're NOT helping yourselves." He pointed out.
"Oh my god, it's a group of BABIES! No wonder they all get along!" Grizz laughed, slapping his leg.
"I bet their next sleep over is gonna have them in a crib." Rayne added.
"Alright pamper packers, out of the living room, this movie is PG 13 and I don't want you all blorting your pants when something scary happens. Wonder twins, get your asses home. Alexandra, go take a shower AFTER you toss out your pissy diaper." Justin said, unable to believe just how well all of this had worked out.
"Whatever jerk.." Alex huffed and got up.
he saw his friends off though the twins were still semi huffing and fighting, shoving each other as the walked away and Alex got his wet diaper tossed out without anyone seeing him.
as he went upstairs and got his shower ready one thing was on his mind.
'This means war. I'm gonna make him feel EXACTLY how embarrassing being seen in diapers around your fiends is.' Alex vowed to himself.
Ok, he had no idea HOW he was going to do so, but while Justin may of won the first battle, it was going to be Alex who won the war and prove his Brain's out did his brother brawn.
The movie was going about as well as could be expected since they had to keep pausing it to have anther laugh at just how dorky Alex and his friends were.
Of course Rayne and Grizz had known for awhile (even if Justin technically wasn't suppose to of told them) about Alex being a diaper filler. (and he might of exaggerated what all Alex used his diapers for)
Maybe a SMALL part of Justin had felt sorry for Alex being humiliated like that in front of his friends, but Grizz had actually come up with the idea and he didn't wanna look like a pussy in front of the guys.
Besides with it coming out that the twins were just as big of dorks as his little brother any real guilt had vanished and he toyed with the idea of dragging out Alex's old play pen out of the basement for the next time he had all his dorky friends over.
'heh, get some pacifiers to shut'em up..put them all in Alex's diapers and take lots of pictures. boom, homework and chore bitches till I graduate.' Justin thought with a smirk and chuckled.
"what's so funny? Oooo and I know that look. Someone's had a evil thought." Grizz asked.
"Heh.. How would you guys feel about making some diapered nerds do our homework for us?" Justin asked.
"well, could be funny, but where are we gonna find some?" Rayne asked.
"..." Grizz roiled his eyes
"...Rayne buddy just smile and listen." Justin said semi sweat dropping.
"I can do that!" Rayne said with a big toothy grin.
Shaking his head Justin started to explain his evil plan, and his friends laughed and chuckled, and were MORE then on board.
Getting out of the shower and drying off, Alex got dressed in a pair of black jogging pants and a t-shirt then sat on his bed with his laptop.
He tried different google searches trying to figure out just how to get his brother back in diapers but for the most part it ended up giving him story link's that he bookmarked to look over later and see if there was anything usable.
He did find a forum called little brothers revenge and it had some really wicked ideas for the most part, but only two threads popped up when he searched for diaper.
the first one was clearly bull with it talking about how this kid had pooped in a diaper and hide it in his big brothers room and gotten the big brother in trouble (and even if it wasn't, Alex would hold off crapping himself as a weapon of last resort.)
the other thread was old, and had been posted just before Christmas of last year and had a little brother talk about how he had set his brother up to look like he wanted diapers for Christmas and his dad had fallen for it, and so had the rest of the family.
Of course there was a lot of disbelief in the read over that and one guy commented 'pics or your full of shit!'
As Alex scrolled down, he pretty much thought the same but then his jaw dropped as there was a picture of a sleeping boy, in a t-shirt and thick diapers and sucking on a paci and a younger boy was in frame too, it was a semi selfie and was smirking and giving the peace sign. the caption under the picture read 'Believe me now bitches?'
"Hoooly shitttttt." Alex said, this guy was his hero!
he didn't seem to be activate on the forum anymore though, there were a bout a dozen replies and a few more comments from the guy but then he vanished.
his user profile did have a e-mail attached to it and so Alex snagged it and went to write the guy a e-mail.
Subject: DUDE YOUR MY HERO!
Hey just wanted to say, I saw your post on Little brothers revenge and wanted to say how awesome that was and also I was wondering if you had any advice or tips on getting a big brother in padding. mine's being a total butt hole lately and just ugggghhh @_@
I had one idea about maybe like peeing on his bed after he gets up to frame him for bed wetting, what do you think? hope to hear from you soon!
E-mail written Alex clicked send and then went to kill some time play a few games online, never once suspecting that while he was trying to plot his big brother diaper doom, he was likewise plotting out Alex's downstairs.
It was a hour latter when Alex heard the ding that told him he'd gotten a reply and he switched tabs to go and take a look.
Subject: Re:DUDE YOUR MY HERO
Heh, thanks for the high praise though I gotta warn you, first of all this is something you've gotta be reallllly careful with. Diaper humiliation is a double edged sword, trust me. Had a friend named Ken who tried this and now he's in diapers.
Anyways just taking a leak on your big bro's bed is dumb, you'll get busted for sure! what I'd recommend is making use of laxatives and pee pills in increasing doses till he's wetting his pants all the time and blorting them too. It's a longer game but better results.
what made you wanna get his butt back in diapers anyways, and FYI i expect 'baby pictures' when your plan works.
Alex thought about that for a second and couldn't help but wonder if maybe this 'ken' was really Ben, but pushed that thought out of his head as he started to write his reply.
Subject: Re:Re:DUDE YOUR MY HERO!
Oh well, I'm a bed wetter and the butt hole went and fished one of my soggy diapers out of the trash and threw it at me while I was hanging out with my friends, trying to say i never tossed it out. so trust me, he totes has this coming.
I really got nothing to lose if I get busted since I'm in huggies every night so I'll try out your plan. it works out because he likes to make me get him drinks and snacks.
as for the picture of him once he's back in huggies heh, sure. thanks for the advice and I'll let you know when the plan starts to work.
E-mail sent Alex closed his e-mail and his game tab then went searching online for the best med's to get to reduce his brother to a helpless pants wetting stinker, only to pause after a few minutes recalling that Max had gotten in trouble awhile back for causing a series of messy accidents around school.
'nggggh..no way he'll be back yet though. I'll go and talk to him tomorrow.' Alex thought and set his laptop aside and laid back on his bed, thinking about just how much fun he was gonna have and ended up conking out.
which was unfortunate as he hadn't put on one of his spider-man diapers and with in ten minutes a wet patch was starting to grow on the front of his jogging pants, which while the dark color would hide it, the tan covered blanket he was laying on wouldn't.
"So when do you think we can do this?" Grizz asked.
the movie was basically forgotten but had been kept on to cover up their voices on the off chance Alex came downstairs (Small chance of that) or if their parents came back early.
"Welll that's the tricky part. I have to have all four of the dweebs here AND have my parents gone. they're going on a weekend trip in about 2 weeks though so I'll try and convince the dweeb to get the loser's club all over here." Justin said.
Rayne, who had just shut his mouth like he'd been told to raised his hand like he was in class.
"heh, Yes Rayne?" Justin asked.
"Aren't they into that dice game, Dragons and prison or whatever?" he asked.
"..Dungeons and dragons, yeah." Justin chuckled.
"Same difference. anyways, say you've been reading up on it and wanna try your hand at hosting a game, but just want them over before you embarrasses yourself in front of us.Most nerds I know love to play and will jump at the chance." Rayne said and smiled.
"Sweet fucking cthulhu. Rayne had a good idea." Grizz chuckled and to patted the bigger boys head. "good boy!"
Rayne beamed and was clearly proud of himself and Justin chuckled.
"Ok, I'll just have to learn enough about this nerd stuff to fake it and get them over. you guys will have to be ready to help though, I don't wanna risk one of the losers getting away." Justin said nodding.
"Hey, as long as I don't have to change any shitty asses I'm in." Grizz said.
"Wait, your gonna make them USE the diapers?" Rayne said and then laughed lots. "Gross!"
"Heh, well the best blackmail is a sobbing little brat in a stinky diaper blackmail. no way the dweeb will risk him in all his smelly glory ending up ALL over town."
"Man, I am glad your not MY big brother." Rayne said, never mind the fact Justin was pretty sure if he tried anything on the semi giant he'd be the one in huggies.
"Eh, No worries. you'd be a awesome little bro. Now all we need to do is go and pick the perfect pampers for them."
"Oh, I got it! There's this discount store my mom drags me to because they have her cream of wheat and other junk she likes cheap, but they got in a shipment of over night diapers for big kids, boys and girls. the boys has rockets and stars on them and are blue." Grizz said, setting up the best part.
"Oh, this is gonna be good." Justin smirked.
"the girls has unicorns and rainbows and are pink!" Grizz finished and cackled.
Plans set for his brother's diapered humiliation, the boys finally turned they're attention back to the movie.
After the movie it was getting late and so Justin sent the guys home as technically speaking they weren't suppose to be over, only him or Alex could have friends over for the most part if mom and dad weren't home. (Weekend vacations were the exception, though their folks made it clear the house had been be clean when they got back)
Whoever had their friends over was also suppose to clean up after them and after a chip fight in the living room Justin smirked, knowing he could get Alex to clean the mess up, since it would be Alex and his friend getting blamed for the mess.
Of course Justin usually made Alex clean up after him and his friends anyways but that always took a little bit more effort in the form of using the dorks undies to bounce him like a yo yo if he didn't listen.
He toyed with leaving Alex sulking in their room where he been since the shower and just letting the dweeb get in trouble but since it was Justin's turn to start dinner so it'd be ready and he didn't feel like cooking, he had to get Alex downstairs anyways to be a good little chore bitch.
"This will be SO much easier once I have the blackmail on him." Justin sighed to himself as he made his way up the stairs to the boys shared bedroom.
Opening the door he went to go and say something but was hit by the stench of piss and a quick look confirmed the little bed soaker had gone night night without a pamper on.
"Hey dork face! wake up! you pissed the bed!" Justin said in a loud voice.
"Ngggh a gigi boo..Five more minutes mommy.." the still mostly asleep dweeb said, trying to shoo Justin away.
"heh, baby talk? really? Wow, just when I think you can't lower the bar any more Little bro.. ALEXANDRA! WAKE UP!" Justin said then cupped a hand to his mouth and yelled.
Alex jumped sort in bed then sat up, eyes wide and panting, looking around.
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" He growled once he locked eyes on Justin."ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK?!"
"No, but you had a wetting attack dork." Justin said and pointed.
Alex went to say something then looked down and went from pissed off to blushing and tried to cover himself up.
"Ah crap crap crap crap!" Alex whined and got up off the bed.
this was NOT good. not good at ALL! Dad was already riding him on the bed wetting and if he found out Alex had soaked the bed from a little nap he would NOT hear the end of it, or worse, dad would make him wear ALL day tomorrow!
"Ah..ah..Justin big brother who I love ever so much.." Alex started, swallowing and trying to put on his best 'I'm so cute help me' faces.
"Save it dweeb. I'll keep my mouth shut about your little..well BIG accident as long as you go and be a good little chore bitch and get the living room cleaned up and start supper." Justin said and leaned on the door frame, a evil smirk on his face.
Considering his options Alex just hung is head and then did a small nod.
"Butttt to show you I'm not totally heartless..I got some clothes that need to be washed so you can do them and wash your sheet at the same time as a cover up. I know, my kindness knows no bounds. just be thankful mom got you that rubber sheet or you'd be going to sleep in a soggy bed tonight." Justin said and laughed.
'gee he's all heart. letting me do his landry and clean up AND cook.. ' Alex thought but it WAS better then trying to explain the sheet alone.
"Yeah ok.." He said finally and went to strip stripping the bed.
"ah ah ah, what do you say to your kind and wonderful brother for helping you out?" Justin said, milking this for all it was worth.
'He has to be..ok no, I know him better then that.. just keep digging your grave jerk.' Alex thought then took a deep calming breath.
"Thank you for letting me do your landry big brother." he said, clenching a fist.
"Anytime dork. not get to it, you don't have a whole lotta time. my clothes are in the hamper in the bathroom." Justin said and started to walk away, then poked his head back in. "Oh and dweeb? next time don't forget to put on your diapies when your going for your afternoon nap."
and with that he walked off laughing.
"...I'm SO going to enjoy getting him in diapers." Alex huffed.
Changing into a pair of clean spider-man shorts and a captain America t-shirt, Alex got the load of landry started and then went to work cleaning up the living room while keeping a eye on the time.
the chips were everywhere and every time he though he was done he'd spot some more and wondered how much the three bullies had actually managed to get in their stupid fat mouths.
Between the cleaning and getting landry switched over he didn't have time to make anything too special so he went with the old stand by of making macaroni and cheese with hot dogs as it was quick and simple and his parents never really expected Justin to go all out when he was cooking anyways.
Dinner was ready and the landry was finished by the time their parents got home, Alex just had to go and get it out of the dryer but he figured he'd have time to do it stealthy after eating.
"So, what did you boys do for fun today?" Dad asked as they were sitting at the dinner table, a small grimace on his face at the prospect of eating the old stand by.
"Oh well-" Alex started by Justin cut him off.
"It was pretty much same old same old for me, went out and played some football with the guys and had fun. Came back though and I think The twins brought over some super sugar loaded snacks or something because Alex and them where have a chip fight and trashed the living room. it was cute though." Justin said and smirked, winking at Alex who's jaw hung open.
"Alex, you didn't!" Mom signed and shook her head. "After supper you'll be cleaning up the living room!"
"Oh don't worry about it mom, I know little guys like him just need to get it out of their systems. after the twins went home he was super pooped though, think it was a sugar crash so let him go and take a nap and I cleaned up the living room." Justin lied.
"Well that was was nice of you Justin, but in the future leave the cleaning for Alex to do." Dad said and shook his head at Alex. "Alex, we've talked about this."
Alex for his part was stuttering now, trying to think of a way to prove his innocence without getting scolded but first shots had been fired by Justin and there was nothing he could do now.
"Alex did you say thank you to Justin for cleaning up after you?" Mom asked and her tone made it clear if he hadn't she expected him to now, but again Justin spoke up.
"Oh, he's already thanked me for something else. see somebody was just SO sleepy when he went for his nap that he forgot to get his bed wetter pants on and well, Let's just say it's a good thing I had to do a load of landry anyways." Justin said as Alex,'s jaw dropped.
"Y-You said..you.." Alex stammered.
"Alex! what have I told you about not going to sleep without one of your diapers on?" Dad asked in a sharp tone.
"N-Not to do it again or..or.." Alex whined, looking down and feeling ready to cry.
this wasn't fair! he'd done everything Justin had asked him too and he was still gonna get punished!
"Or you'll be spending the next day in your diapers all day. Now I was hoping NOT to have to use that punishment but clearly you've left me no choice. you can still use the potty of course, in fact I encourage it, but you WILL be in diapers all day tomorrow." Dad said.
His tone left no room for argument and feeling hot tears start to slid down his cheeks Alex looked down at his bowl of food and sniffled.
"Yes sir."
After supper Justin offered to do the dishes if Alex would go and get the landry out of the dryer, but mom said since Justin had already cleaned up after Alex, made supper and did the landry for the most part he could go and relax and watch TV with their dad while Alex got the landry out and folded it.
Justin smiled and kissed his mom's cheek and asked if she was sure, but she insisted and so he went and plopped down on the couch, ready to watch some hockey with his dad and giving Alex a shit eating grin as the huffy and tear stained cheek dork started to stomp his way up the steps till dad called for him to knock it off unless he wanted to go to bed early.
'Oh my god. this worked out even better then I could of hoped! Mom and Dad are just too easy!' Justin thought, having to bite his tongue every so often to keep from laughing.
the dweeb had done all the work and yet here he was sipping on pop and munching on chips with their dad while the dork was off folding his undies and was gonna be a crinkle butt the next day.
'It'll be a nice little preview of whats to come.' Justin thought and let out a little chuckle despite himself.
"what's so funny?" Dad asked.
"Oh, just thinking of how silly Alex and his friends looked this after noon. they were like sugar crazed toddlers." Justin lied.
"heh, Next time you should try and get a video of it, I bet it looked cute." Dad chuckled.
Upstairs Alex was mentally cursing up a storm, pissed off and fuming like crazy as he folded pair after pair of his brothers skid marked undies.
'Son of a bitch! son of a bisket eating bitch! I'm not just gonna get him in diapers, I'm gonna make him the biggest dumbest big baby loser of all time! I'm gonna have him in the halls of his school in nothing but huggies and a bib and bonnet!'
of course a small part of Alex knew that going that far likely wasn't gonna be possible, it was a warm thought that helped him keep from just having a melt down fit that would of gotten his bun's blistered and him put to bed before it was even 8 pm.
He should of know better then to think that Justin was gonna hold up his end of the deal, or he should of spoken up about getting the landry done but nope. He'd trusted his big brother and was paying the price for it now in spades.
'And now I have to wear a diaper all day tomorrow..Maybe I'll wait till Monday to go and talk with Max.' Alex thought.
it would mean putting his plans on hold for a bit but he really didn't wanna waddle the block and a half over to Max's with pampers on under his pants.
Finishing up the folding and putting the clothes away Alex checked to make sure that his rubber sheet was dry and tugged in his blanket he'd hung out the window to dry (as it would of taken up too much room in the machines to do Justin's landry too) and with it dry he started to make his bed.
'God, what did I ever do to deserve a asshole like him for a big brother.' Alex whined mentally and finished making his bed, looking it over and then jumping and letting out a girlish shriek as a hand came on his shoulder.
"heh, Relax sweetie, it's mommy." Came his mother voice, sounding a little amused.
"That's ok, I didn't need that heart." Alex huffed, blushing and turning around to face his smirking mother. "what's up mom?"
"Well I wanted to come up and check on how the folding was going and to help you get ready for bed." She said with a smile.
"...Mom it's not even 8 yet, and it's a Saturday night.." Alex said, not liking where this was going.
"Oh You can stay up and everything till 11 like normal, but I just wanna make sure you don't conk out with your 'special armor' on." she said, using finger quotes.
"Mom I think I'm quite capable of putting my own diaper on." Alex huffed, feeling a hot blush cover his face.
"And yet you soaked your bed earlier." She cheerfully pointed out.
"T-That was different, I was just all tired and didn't realize I'd be conking out!" Alex whined, sounding more like a fussy toddler the the big kid he was trying to be.
"I know sweetie, but it kinda goes with my point. what if you just conk out again tonight? do you really wanna have to go to school on Monday in a diaper?" She asked, and the ruffled his hair.
The mental image of it stopped Alex's whining in it's tracks, picturing himself in a bib and spider-man diaper and sucking on a paci in the halls.
"No way! I'd Dieeeee!" Alex whined and shook his head no A LOT.
"well then let mommy help you out. And also if your gonna keep being so tired maybe we'll lower your bedtime for awhile." She added, then smirked and winced at the glare Alex gave her. "Now now, no using your super pouty powers on family."
"Moooom!" Alex huffed but resigned himself to his fate, when she got like this there was no getting her to back down.
He reached under his bed and pulled out his pack of spider-man diapers and noted that he was running low, and started to tug down his shorts when mom spoke up.
"Oh Alex, before we get your in your bed time diaper, do you have to use the potty?"
"mom, I know I wet the bed but I THINK I would know if had to take a leak or a dump you kn-" Alex started and then there was a loud 10 second poot out of his bottom and his tummy was gurgling.
"You were saying?" Mom asked, holding her nose but smirking."
"I-I'll be back.." Alex said in a small voice, blushing SO bad as he went past her he was shocked his hair hadn't caught on fire.
As she watched him go and had to fight the urge laugh, the little guy's undies had a fresh skid mark appearing on the back.
'Maybe I should look into getting him some of those washable training pants.' She mused.
One trip to the potty later and with Alex realizing what's he'd almost done in his undies, and the fight was all out of the little guy at least for the moment.
Zero fight was put up as he let his mom take his shorts and briefs and then proceed to diaper him, numbly just going along with her requests of butt up and the like.
"Are you sure your feeling alright? Maybe I should of checked your temperature before getting the diaper on." Mom asked, putting a hand to Alex's forehead.
"N-No I'm fine..just I dunno, Tired." Alex said, wincing.
he had to be the only boy his age to still get his temperature checked via the back door and it's wasn't that fun of a experience.
"Hmmm I think somebody better lay off of the sweets for awhile if it leaves you JUST drained after." Mom said and then started to tug Alex's blanket up on him.
"M-Mom what are you doing?" Alex whined, looking at the clock, it was 7:51 PM!
"I think you've had a big day, and your just not feeling that good. it would explain all the huffing and whining too. if you be a good boy and go night night for me now I'll see what I can do to get your father to back off with the all day diaper punishment tomorrow. I have to take you shopping for more diapers anyways with you almost being out and you get embarrassed enough as is when your in your undies."
Alex whined and whimpered a little but after a few seconds just signed and nodded.
"Good boy." She said and leaned down, kissing his forehead and then went and got one of his stuffie style Avengers from their display shelf and handed him Thor.
Lacking the energy to fight back Alex just took the offered stuffie and snuggled into it as his mom turned off the lights in the room and paused at the doorway.
"Night night little guy. Mommy will leave the door open a crack for you so you don't get scared. Love you and see you in the morning." She coo'ed/
"..Love you too mommy." Alex said, blushing.
He hadn't been scared of the door in like ages but somehow mom had the impression he still was and the only reason he wouldn't accept a night light was Justin would complain.
She left the little guy to go to sleep and Alex listened to her footsteps.
'This is bull shit. I'm not some little baby! I bet I don't even fall asleep till 11 anyways.' He huffed, crinkling and squirming in his bed.
Five minutes later he was snoring softly around his thumb as he sucked it in his sleep.
"So did Alex give you much of a fight?" Justin asked as Mom came downstairs.
"Just a token one, he's already gone to bed. I don't think he's feeling well and I think that should excuse him for needing his punishment tomorrow." Anne said, though the last part was more directed at her husband.
"Look, rules are rules, and if we start g-" Jackson started but was cut off.
"Excuse me, but who's idea was the rule that a D or worse meant no TV or computer time, and yet Justin who got a D on his last English test is watching the game with you?" She asked sweetly.
Justin gulped now and turned to his dad.
"Uh..you know..I think mom's right, we can't punish Alex if he had his accident because he's sick!" Justin chimed in.
"Heh, Nice try buddy but your mother is right in a way. I can't really punish your brother and not punish you. "Jackson said
"Soooo Alex isn't wearing a diaper tomorrow?" Justin asked hopefully.
"try again buddy, but do it in anther room so I can finish watching the game." Jackson chuckled and ruffled his sons hair as the 12 year old pouted.
"Finnne, I'll just go to my room an-." he started to huff and went to get up.
"ahhh nope. First of all I know you well enough you'll just go on your laptop." Anne said. "and second of all your brother is sleeping. Don't worry though, we have LOTS of board games you can play with me."
"Geee, spending Saturday night playing board games with my mom. aren't I lucky." Justin groaned
One mind numbing night of games later and Justin went to bed, taking note of the fact that Alex had semi drenched his pillow in drool and was still sucking his thumb.
'Heh, He's kinda cute...Still gonna make him a big dumb diaper nerd chore boy..but he's cute.' Justin thought before going and climbing into his bed.
as he went to go to sleep he had the most wonderful evil idea that could at the same time be played off as just being a nice big brother and help get 'revenge' on Alex for making him miss the end of the game.
'Hehehehe damn I'm so smart!' Justin chuckled and dropped off to sleep.

How is Zoe's comic racist? (sorry don't mean to question you, genuinely curious) Also, I admit I was also sucked into the salt fic whirlpool, but quickly left after I realized how toxic it was being. Could you also elaborate on GalahadWilder, if it isn't too uncomfortable for you? I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude, or ask uncomfortable questions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can’t point out everything off the top of my head but the racism (along with everything else but that’s not the focus) is a large part of what made me throw my hands up and write this. And I won’t be answering any more asks about any of this because I just want to get it out there so people know (because of how many people genuinely don’t see it) and then go back to trying to forget that this shit ever existed, rather than dragging out some new fandom drama. Also keep in mind that while I’m West Asian/Arab, I’m also white-passing so if I get anything wrong, I appreciate call-outs. (Also I finally got my laptop charger today so I can snip my posts again 😭)
Her treatment of Max in ‘Gamer’.
It’s not unique to her; it’s a very common salter thing to utterly tear into Max for being a “sexist jerk” and daring to underestimate princess Marinette because she’s a girl. Never mind that they canonically aren’t close friends because of Chloé’s bullying, so Max probably had no idea that Marinette’s liked video games all this time, where Adrien is the new boy so it’s just one more thing to learn about him.
It’s especially heinous compared to how the other classmates are treated far more leniently for their own mistakes - they still get salted on but Max, aka the Black boy, always seems to get singled out and held to higher standards. Just look at ‘Chameleon’ and how the other classmates are mildly to moderately attacked by salters but Max gets utterly ripped to shreds because he “should know better”. (Never mind that just because he’s smart doesn’t mean he’s good at human interaction. They just want to attack him).
It also angers me because people like Nathaniel and Ivan are absolved of what they do as akumas (like kidnapping others and literally forcing someone to go on a date with them) because they couldn’t help it, yet Max is literally held responsible for what he did when akumatised (because he dared to go after Princess Marinette) and even for daring to get akumatised in the first place. Both these things just make him a sore loser, apparently.
So SL ‘Gamer’ was the final straw for me, especially with how she characterised Max as a smug arsehole, and it made me so angry that I just exploded to my friends, but I didn’t know how to directly call it out without looking like a petty bitch.
Here’s a post I made about salters and ‘Gamer’ if you’re interested in a more coherent and in-depth thing about it.
Alya’s treatment throughout the whole thing.
In canon, she’s an enthusiastic and passionate girl who sometimes gets carried away and goes too far and who idolises Ladybug because Ladybug stands against evil. Here? She’s treated as the butt of the joke for being so starry-eyed over superheroes that she idolises Scarlet Lady while Marinette mocks her behind her back. Never mind her iconic line of “all that is needed for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing” and this is why she loves Majestia in the first place. Never mind that she loves Ladybug because Ladybug is kind and passionate and strong and creative. Canon Alya wouldn’t want a bar of Scarlet Lady, who just sits around complaining, and yet SL!Alya worships her because...why? Running joke? The only Black girl in the series is treated as a gag to be made fun of by someone who’s supposed to be her best friend, just for the audience’s amusement. Marinette’s probably meant to look funny and relatable here, but she just looks like a major bitch to her new friend. Alya’s flaws are basically blown up and exaggerated for comedic effect, while Marinette in contrast is airbrushed to perfection, with no flaws and no anxiety that was only alleviated in canon by - guess what - being Ladybug.
It’s like Zoe wants to stick to canon while adding her own little “fun” twists for humour, like making Marinette snarky and perfect (which just makes her look like an utter bitch) and in the case of Alya, it does her so dirty that even Lila is more sympathetic. LILA. After SL humiliates Lila, Alya looks doubtful but buys some bullshit excuse so that she can continue to be the Scar-worshipping idiot. And then in the aftermath, her concern isn’t for Lila, the girl who was humiliated and bullied by a literal superhero and then ended up sick. No, she’s angry because...Lila lied on her blog. The blog that doesn’t have nearly as much recognition as in canon because SL would never validate her, unlike Ladybug. So her passion for her blog is exaggerated to imply that she’d say that a girl deserves to be bullied and sick because she told a few lies (since at this point, Alya doesn’t know about any possible malice on Lila’s part, just as in canon. All that’s known is the lying for attention).
It’s horrible hypocrisy, where Alya is held to higher standards than the other (white) characters and when she fails to meet those standards, she’s torn into. She’s not afforded any sympathy for being hurt that Lila lied to her; in fact, she’s demonised for feeling hurt, especially because of the running joke that her blog is focused on someone so horrible and she doesn’t see that. Lila is presented as the sympathetic one here. LILA. Just because Alya dared to believe her in canon.
Also, how she’s constantly trying to either tease Marinette for having a crush or insist that Marinette’s only doing what she does because of a crush...even though according to this ‘verse’s canon, Marinette is too good to make mistakes and do obsessive stuff over a crush, which is why canon Alya thinks this about her in the first place. That didn’t just come out of nowhere in the show purely for “woe is Marinette, her best friend doubts her”.
Like in the first part of ‘Gamer’, where she’s accusing Marinette of only entering the tournament to flirt with Adrien while Marinette so “coolly and calmly” rebuts her...why? By the ‘verse’s own logic, Marinette isn’t a flustered mess around Adrien. The only purpose of this scene is to glorify Marinette and her amazing calmness while making Alya look like a nosy idiot who dares to doubt her best friend. The logic of the ‘verse and of canon clash really jarringly in moments like this, and it becomes clear that the only purpose of these moments is to make Marinette look better at the expense of others. Most often her best friend, who’s an utter idiot for not seeing Scarlet Lady’s true nature and just can’t keep her nose out of Marinette’s business and so comes to wrong conclusions. Why are Marinette and Alya even friends in this ‘verse? SL!Marinette’s been nothing but condescending towards Alya most of the time.
Uh, and also the way she occasionally whitewashes Alya. Just look at the SL headers. She literally made Alya, aka a Black girl who’s one of the good guys, lighter than Lila, aka a white girl who’s one of the bad guys and not even that tanned in canon. Why do people make one of the villains darker and often whitewash one of the heroes? It’s not that hard to figure out.
(Also the way she really played into the aggressive Black girl stereotype in ‘Horrificator’ over a minor argument, even physically threatening Nino. Why? Literally why did she have to go full-on aggressive instead of just looking angry and scolding him or something?)
This all might not be conscious on Zoe’s part but the way Alya is treated is still disgusting, especially if you’re operating on internalised salt from other aspects of the salty fandom. I’ve seen her claims that she’s trying to help Alya improve and she’s not being salty but...even if she’s not being consciously salty, her salt is definitely still leaking over it and part of that salt includes racism. I also don’t see how making Alya a joke and exaggerating her flaws is helping her to improve when there was plenty to go off in canon but, well, that might just be me.
Even Marinette, who’s pretty much treated as white for 99% of it.
Marinette, aka the girl who’s only made visibly “Asian/Other” in SL ‘Reflekta’ with her Chinese-inspired Black Cat suit and name which is a one-off, while her permanent Bee outfit is just the bland tight suit that salters criticise Ladybug for having and her name is just Marigold. It comes across as using “Asianness” as a costume and it really didn’t sit right with me at first, but it took me a while to tease out why exactly this made me feel ick.
There’s nothing wrong with touching more on Marinette’s heritage and expanding on it in ways that the show doesn’t, especially because this is a big sticking point for salters, but again...it’s only a one-off. A costume. There aren’t casual hints sprinkled throughout the comic that just normally establish Marinette as half-Chinese, aside from like a page or two in ‘Timebreaker’ showing Sabine’s outfit. It’s another ‘Kung Food’ where it’s slammed into one episode and shoved into our faces that Marinette Is Chinese and it’s really jarring and unpleasant.
It just comes across as fetishising, is all. I don’t think it’s something most people would pick up on unless they’re used to being able to see this kind of thing.
Master Fu. Oh, Master Fu.
From an old man who made mistakes but tried as best as he could with the limited knowledge he had, he’s now a bumbling idiot who...put the earrings in Marinette’s bag instead of her room for some reason? To kickstart the plot? Especially because the ring was still in Adrien’s room. It’s very, very contrived.
And then in one of the most recent updates, Zoe has Adrien - a white boy - physically threaten Fu, aka an elderly Asian man. It’s disgusting. I was gobsmacked when I first saw it. And that’s the thing with salters: they tear into Adrien for being a white boy so they can look Enlightened when he hasn’t actually done anything racist, yet they then turn around and perpetuate actual racism in trying to “fix” him
There’s probably more but those are the examples that jump out at me of the racism in SL. There are plenty more problems but...whatever. I’ll be here all day if I try and cover those.
As for the Galahad thing...it’s personal. That original post was as much as I was comfortable revealing.

Ask Explosion #9:
Asks answering previous posts:
Tumblr media
Sabrina, I have one word of advice for you...
R U N
Tumblr media
“Chat, please stop talking.”
“But that’s my thing!”
“YOU JINX EVERYTHING!!”
Tumblr media
Ayyyyyy~
Well, it’s something, I suppose?
Tumblr media
Answered this here.
Tumblr media
It absolutely did. Bless you, kind and hilarious citizien. ;P
Tumblr media
I’m torn because... on one hand, I want to give proper mythology and such for like--anything that’d be put into the show, but on the other, I liked the idea that Alix’s brother was just sort of a conspiracy who thought of stupid stuff (which is why I kept the concept for MC Jalil Kubdel).
Zoe did it really well in Scarlet Lady where Alix knew the actual mythology and started blurting it out whenever Jalil got it wrong.
New Asks:
Tumblr media
Considering “Ikari Gozen,” I imagine Alya and Kagami don’t get along as well. I agree with basically everyone that Marinette and Kagami not getting along is bad, but Alya and Kagami not really getting along makes more sense and is more tolerable.
Since Alya is Marinette’s “““BFF”““ (supposedly), I could see her kind of being like, “You’re competing with my girl over the same guy,” and keeping Kagami at arm’s length, worried that keeping Kagami close will allow Kagami to be closer to Adrien since Adrien is an extension of their friend group (kinda, sorta, not really, but Marinette calling him a friend so technically--)
You know, Alya trying to be a good friend and help Marinette with Adrien in more subtle ways. It’s the wrong way to go about it but she’s trying.
Tumblr media
LUKANETTE IS AMAZING IN TERMS OF PROGRESSION KDJNGJDFG, I ADORE IT. Every episode they share together, we either learn something new about them or see more details on their relationship.
I think I was already all-in before “Silencer,” but man, that episode just sealed it even more. I was like well dang, why does the love square even EXIST???
Tumblr media
jfdngjkfdjgfdg
Incredible. Only problem is that the creator doesn’t know how to use it properly.
Tumblr media
You mean fourteen year olds aren’t perfect human beings???? :o
(no, but really, that’s me all the time; like, she’s barely a teen!)
Tumblr media
He’ll believe it if it’s Chat Noir who’s doing it. If Marinette ever does it though, he’ll be sure to shut it down. ;P
Tumblr media
Ugggggh, the worst part is that I have the same exact fear that they really are going to be like yeah Ladybug you silly fool Chat Noir has been with you since the beginning!
I mean, we’re already basically getting that with the New York special; Chat was supposed to protect Paris and then didn’t tell Ladybug that he “had to” leave for New York (and the New York thing is inadvertently Marinette’s fault and parts of the fandom actually did blame her for it even though it was Chat’s choice not to say anything), then Ladybug gets upset with him when she discovers it mid-battle, which leads to Chat being distracted and Cataclysming someone (another thing that Ladybug can be “inadvertently” blamed for), then Chat gives up his miraculous so Ladybug isn’t even allowed to be angry and cue the later line of “I can’t imagine being Ladybug without... him.”
So clearly that’s saying something. Adrien doesn’t get anything close to that level and Marinette is chewed out for not asking him to stay when Nino had already asked him too.
It’s like--Marinette chooses to go after Adrien and then gets either nothing in return, or humiliated by the narrative, and then in the New York special, she decides to do nothing and everything still goes wrong while Alya yells at her for it. The “damned if she does, damned if she don’t,” on display is stunning. The girl tries to confess and it’s like, “no, not allowed, but Chat is allowed to confess.”
Tumblr media
I still don’t understand this logic of his overarching plot but also “there’s not much of a timeline.” I think the only solid thing we’ve ever gotten was something about all the episodes in one season coming after all the episodes in a previous one, but there are still things that don’t add up? The only thing the season 3 production order will give is making sure the hero debuts work out (so no Viperion or Pegase before “Party Crasher,” for example).
It’s not really reliable. I mean, like--I’ve been experimenting with timelines for a while, and stuff like “Miraculer” baffles me. It’s basically non-canon with no value whatsoever. All it does is make “Heart Hunter” look even more confusing and treats Marinette even more horribly for not picking Chloe when she explicitly told Chloe that she wasn’t getting it back.
Tumblr media
I’m not familiar with that one! Is it any good?
(Okay, I actually was too curious and ended up looking it up; fancy! I couldn’t have guessed that it was a webtoon! I started reading the 1st issue and before I knew it, I was on the 6th! Oops~)
Lila is totally Rashta, 100% agree. The fact that the comments have a nickname of “Trashta” for her, equivalent to Liar Rossi, says as much ;P
Tumblr media
Because lessons that involve telling someone that they’re valid and allowed to feel a certain way don’t apply to Marinette. Isn’t it nice? :3
Tumblr media
Not that I know of? Though I also don’t look for that kind of thing, so it’s possible that it exists and I just don’t know about it.
Even if it did exist thought, I don’t see a problem with you doing your own regardless. Good luck if you do!
Tumblr media
No. No I do not. ;P
Tumblr media
GREETINGS FELLOW INTJ!
And yeah, I’m not really capable of not analyzing shows. There are some small exceptions, but they’re usually not full shows in the normal sense. If there’s an ongoing plot, my mind tends to be working at all times.
In terms of Miraculous, Season 1 was harmless enough where I was bothered but pretty quiet about it, but then it just got progressively worse. It really feels like one of those things you can’t unsee when it finally hits you, y’know?
I’m glad I was able to help you get that satisfaction you need (and appreciate Lukanette, of course ;3)!
Non-Miraculous Asks:
(some heavy Puella Magi Madoka Magica salt below)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wow, this is a really dedicated ask! Nice!
Gonna go point by point here:
1 - Yeah, the whole thing with Homura not “being able” to save everyone... kinda questionable, and I didn’t really buy the arguments they used to explain it away. I think there was this one PSP game or something with Madoka Magica where you could kind of choose what happened (like, there were bad ends where Sayaka didn’t get her soul gem back in time and her body was partially decayed; ick) and I think there’s a good end where Homura saves everyone but--yeah, not canon.
I just don’t care for twisted stories like that unless there is actually a good end on the horizon (and I mean like “Everyone Lives and is Happy” good end). Angst is just so exhausting so the second I saw Mami’s head being bitten I was just like, “Ah, okay, so we’re doing this then.”
2 - Eugh, the sexism thing. It’s so... yeah, and especially this because the whole “girls are emotional” thing, I don’t really care whether or not the show is trying to “subvert” or “explain” anything, it just feels like poor taste and I don’t like it. (I also didn’t know about that Death Note thing because I didn’t watch it, but geez.)
3 - Wow, I’ve been away from the show for so long that I forgot what Mami’s wish was; I thought it was to “not be alone” or something (or maybe not die alone?? I really don’t remember), but either way, the fact that it follows some sort of genie wish logic is just--*sigh*--they’re teenage girls, come on (plus, the “genie wish logic” is really overdone to me anyway).
4 - The other thing about Sayaka is that it’s really predictable that she’d “die so quickly.” Basically everything was pointing to her just being annihilated at some point, and being Madoka’s best friend, it was pretty inevitable that she’d go.
((semi-unrelated, but someone also asked me which character’s name was lied about before episode 3 hit and they wondered if it was Sayaka’s; it was Kyubey’s))
Tumblr media
Yikes. Sorry you had to experience that.
Anyway, I guess I’m not experienced enough in multiple fandoms to say for sure? If I was ever in a fandom, I would just blacklist the people/stuff I didn’t like, so I didn’t get to see a tong of “bad things” going on.
+ I try really hard not to generalize fandoms into one thing.
Tumblr media
𝓖𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 𝓝𝓸𝓻𝓶𝓼 𝓐𝓻𝓮 𝓢𝓽𝓾𝓹𝓲𝓭 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓑𝓸𝔂𝓼 𝓐𝓻𝓮 𝓐𝓵𝓵𝓸𝔀𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓛𝓲𝓴𝓮 “𝓖𝓲𝓻𝓵𝔂” 𝓣𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼
Tumblr media
Oof, uhhh, shows, huh? That’s tough.
I think the main ship from Given (Mafuyu and Ritsuka) is really adorable (you might’ve seen the amusing video of their love being mutual before), and while I would’ve said the same thing for the kinda-sorta side ship, it gets--uh... really bad during the movie/rest of the manga, I’ll just say that much.
Mafuyu and Ritsuka though, totally adorable.
Inuyasha kinda? Though Inuyasha and Kagome are definitely not the kind of romantic chemistry that I lean towards (I find “the bickering couple” to be rather exhausting). Plus, Cardcaptor Sakura did the “male tsundere” better than Inuyasha did (though the Clear Card Arc was terrible, at least it’s not canon kinda-sorta? idk it seems like a mix of the anime and manga so...).
After that there’s...
uh
...
hm.
I mean, there’s probably a couple more examples somewhere, but--yeah, I’ve got nothing. Maybe if I thought back to all the generic children shows I watched when I was little (like those old Disney live-action shows; I had no taste when I was younger), there might’ve been something that satisfied kid me but idk.
Tumblr media
I don’t remember what post inspired this, but I have no problem answering regardless, ahaha~
My main issue is Aang’s attitude about the whole thing. I’m not saying it was right of Katara to go out and get “revenge via murder” exactly, but I also think that Zuko had the right idea with allowing her to go and face the man who killed her mother so she could get some form of closure (also note that Zuko doesn’t express any sort of opinion when Katara decides not to kill him; he just wanted her to have whatever she thought she needed to heal).
It’s also the episode where Zuko directly confronts Aang on his “violence isn’t the answer” rhetoric which then goes completely ignored as Aang lionturtles his way out of the conflict. Aang is also not confronted on his point of “forgiveness is the first step to healing” (when Katara has a right not to forgive and Aang isn’t challenged outside of Katara commenting on it) and was permitted to ride his high horse when Katara “steals” Appa like, “It's okay, because I forgive you... that give you any ideas?” which is just--
reaaaaaally "holier than thou”-esque when Aang is like, ten, and Katara is a sort of motherly figure to him. The episode even has Sokka praise Aang for how “wise” he is and I groaned through the entire thing.
Another smaller thing is that it sort of makes the air kingdom look way too “perfect” by having Aang be the “source of wisedom,” especially when it’s like “violence isn’t the answer” while all the other airbenders are dead.

Marshmallow Harmony—J. Skinner
Requested by anon. No warning. Check out my other imagines and master list on my blog with #hockeyimagines.
Tumblr media
When you heard Jeff Skinner was coming to Buffalo, you freaked out. Originally from Raleigh, you remember when Jeff was drafted and watching him play for the Canes. He was your favorite player, and when you moved to Buffalo for a position as a Sabres Social Media Coordinator, they knew he would always be your favorite. And since you spent most of your time around the players, taking pictures and videos of them and along interviewing them and playing little games, you had became good friends with some of them and they could not help but to text you when they heard the news.
Eichs: How happy are you lover boy is coming to Buffalo?!
Sammy: Your husband is coming to town!
My Beau: Your wingman is here. Let’s get you some Skins
Bogo: Mila always told you wishes can come true
Risto: Smiley Short Shorts is coming for you
Z: Skins!!!! In!!!! Buffalo!!!!
Jo Swede: I bet your smile is a big as his right now
Evs: This is your chance. Get your man
The texts from the guys kept up until the first day of camp when they all started pitching in in person. You watched from a distance, taking videos and pictures for Snapchat and Instagram, as the guys practiced and got to know their new teammates. Occasionally you swore you saw Jack, Sam, Nathan, Zach, Rasmus, Zemgus, Johan, and Evan point in your direction. One of them always seemed to make sure Jeff was facing towards you.
“Y/N!” You turned to see Grace, the YouTube and live stream guru of the Your duo, came running up to you. “I need you to come with me. I got the green light to record a Q&A with the players. They want it to be the new ones so fans have an opportunity to get to know them better. You’ll be interviewing them.”
You almost dropped your phone. “You mean like Casey Mittelstadt, Rasmus Dahlin, Conor Sheary, Tage Thompson, Vladimir Sobotka, Matt Hunwick, and Carter Hutton? No problem.”
Grace giggled. “You forgot one. Jeff Skinner is a big one. Let’s go Sobotka is up first.”
————————
Jeff was the last one to be interviewed and by this time you had no idea what to expect. Grace changed it up each time, both questions and how the interview had to be done. Different players came in and out to watch the interviews. The largest crowd yet had been Dahlin’s where you asked him questions with a microphone that changed your voices each time. Hutton’s was fun as you asked questions while trying to save a balloon from touching the ground.
Before Jeff even came in, your self appointed wingmen entered the room. “What are you guys doing here?” You hissed.
“We’re here to watch you interview Jeff,” Johan answered.
“Yeah, guys have been in and out all day watching,” Evan added.
“Plus, what kind of wingmen would we be if we didn’t make sure you didn’t fuck up your first conversation with the love of your life,” Risto commented.
Sam punched him in the shoulder. “Shut up. We weren’t supposed to say that.”
You groaned as Grace walked back in. “Don’t you worry. Nothing is going to go wrong. Here’s the marshmallows.”
“What are these for?”
“Part of the interview,” she explained. “You each are starting off with a marshmallow in your mouths. You ask a question and he answers. Then you add one more and the cycle repeats until you run out of questions or someone’s marshmallows come tumbling out.”
You could hear your “wingmen” giggling like little girls behind you. “Now Jeff can see how much she can fit in her mouth without swallowing,” Nathan whispered.
“That’s disgusting,” Zach gagged. “Disgusting.”
The door opened to Jack walking in with Jeff trailing him. “And this is where the fun interviews happen. Jeff, meet Grace and Y/N. They run the Sabres Instagram, Snapchat, and the fun portion of the YouTube channel. You’ll see them around a lot and sometimes one or both of them travels with us.”
Grace introduced herself first. “Hi Jeff, I’m Grace. I do a lot of the production aspects and filming. I’m the one behind the camera normally because Y/N has such a beautiful face that was made for it. Don’t you agree, Jeff?”
“Uh…”
You slapped Grace in the arm. “I’m sorry about her. She loves talking. I’m Y/N. It’s nice to meet you.”
Jeff smiled, making you want to melt in your spot. “Jeff. It’s nice to meet both of you. So shall we get this underway?”
Jeff took a seat in the chair opposite of yours. You began talking when you saw the red light. “Hello Sabre Nation. It’s Y/N here with another fun Q&A. Today’s player is another one of our new players, Jeff Skinner. Jeff played for the Carolina Hurricanes as left wing for 8 seasons. It’s great to have you here in Buffalo, Jeff.”
“It’s great to be in Buffalo, Y/N,” Jeff grinned.
“Alright, let’s begin,” You pointed to the bowl of marshmallows. “Grab one and put in your mouth, but don’t swallow. I’ll do the same. After each question we’ll add a marshmallow. Ready?”
Jeff nodded and plopped a marshmallow into his mouth. “Favorite food?”
“Sushi.”
“Favorite TV show?”
“Game of Thrones.”
Things started to get complicated around seven marshmallows. “Celebrigee ook ike?”
“Goseph Ord Evit.”
“Bavorite ort esides ockey?”
“Aseall.”
“Avit oosi argis?”
Jeff’s eyes went wide. “Uh, ick armoy.”
All the marshmallows fell out of your mouth as you began laughing. Jeff blushed. “I like them too, don’t worry.”
His cheeks got redder. “Ill oo o out it ee?” He asked.
Your eyes widened and it was your turn to blush. “I et if oo on’t one oo.”
“Yes,” you nodded. Jeff’s mouth dropped, causing all the marshmallows to fall out. “Yes, I will gladly go out with you.”
“I can hear the wedding bells,” Sam sighed happily.
“Mission accomplished, wingmen,” Jack grinned.  Grace coughed and glared at him. “And wingwoman.”

Mass Effect, mental illness, and healing.
I’m replaying the Shepard trilogy, and this has been bouncing around my thoughts lately.
So in Mass Effect 2, Miranda says that part of The Lazarus Project was the very specific order of recreating Shepard exactly as they were, no exceptions. This includes their personality, their memories, etc. Ignoring questions like ‘how do you reconstruct someone’s mental structure, store it in a computer, and then transfer it to a mind you hope to make sentient,’ this leads me to the more interesting question of (1) does future technology and medical science in the Mass Effect universe have the ability to map brain chemistry to the point of knowing how one’s individual mind functions; and (2) what does this mean for mental illnesses?
While it’s highly unlikely that Shepard could have served if they had a serious mental illness prior to their service, it’s all but flat out said in the opening lines of Mass Effect 1 that Shepard has serious emotional scars. I.E., Shepard at the very least had a PTSD diagnosis depending on what military background you chose for them. And while PTSD is treatable through medication and therapy, it doesn’t seem to have barred Shepard from continuing their service in the Alliance. If anything, Shepard only advanced further, becoming the Normandy’s commander and eventual commanding officer once Anderson stepped down.
I will allow Bioware some dramatic license for this story, and Shepard is also constantly considered a person with “a remarkably strong will,” which means they can endure pain and hardships beyond what most would find tolerable. But just because someone has a “strong will” doesn’t mean they aren’t affected by pain and trauma--they could just keep it all inside and suffer quietly, which Shepard seems to do.
Much like a post I made about Fallout 4 and Nick Valentine’s human form (and how the pre-Institute MIT folks mapped out his brain prior to his death, and simply used that data to make synth Nick’s mind), what we have here is yet another case of someone being created (or resurrected) with a mental map that included mental illness... and that mental illness being programmed in. It wasn’t removed. It wasn’t treated as a flaw to eliminate. It was an integral part of that person’s mind and identity.
With Shepard, this is likely because of Miranda’s orders: Shepard had to be the exact same, no exceptions. But with Nick Valentine, I consider this especially brutal and unfair, because synth Nick wanted so very much to put human Nick’s memories and ghosts to rest. He wanted to build a life and live that life separate from the man he was built from. And this choice of his, while noble and fully valid, was made all the more difficult for him to do because of human Nick’s PTSD and survivor’s guilt being transferred over.
Make no mistake: I’m not saying The Lazarus Project should have eliminated any/all of Shepard’s lingering mental trauma, nor am I saying the Institute should have done something different (it’s very likely that they couldn’t, or just didn’t think it would matter). I myself have been diagnosed with PTSD--that’s why I’m so fascinated by the presence (or lack thereof) of mental illnesses in the video games I play, which are largely RPGs in scenarios where mental health and treatment are either nonexistent (Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, Soulsborne), or very seldom remarked upon (Mass Effect, Fallout) unless it’s for a specific quest. What I am saying is that I wonder what this says to us who have mental illnesses, no matter what they are, and how we can use this narrative choice in video games as a way to change our perspective about these illnesses and the part they play in our identities?
My psychiatrist and I have weekly therapy sessions as part of my Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Very recently, we ended a session with a question that we’ll explore in later sessions: is it possible to practice acceptance and active healing at the same time? Acceptance in this scenario means acknowledging that while my situation and illnesses are not fair, that’s also what they are. I do not like that my life is so brutally sidetracked far too often by symptoms of my illnesses, or by the very existence of the illness itself. But that’s my life.
I wasted an entire decade of my life (all of my 20s) mourning and hating and being brutally ashamed that this was my lot in life, that it wasn’t fair, that I couldn’t be expected to endure all that my illnesses demanded of me on top of the normal things life asks of us all--but none of that thinking got me anywhere. It didn’t make me feel stronger, it didn’t encourage me, it didn’t offer answers or hope or anything useful in the slightest. If anything, it made me worse, to the point where my body was then literally wasting away and destroying itself because of my anxiety by the time I was 29. But I digress.
Back to the question and, eventually, Mass Effect and Commander Shepard. Acceptance of mental illnesses and living with them simply means you look your life square in the face and you accept it--you don’t judge it, you don’t question it, you don’t wonder how it could have been different. It’s not different. It’s your life--period. And it’s yours. That alone should make you want to cherish it. It might be hard, it might be frightening, it might be lonely and all other kinds of things--but it’s yours. No one else’s. And your life, and most especially your illnesses, needs your love.
We care for wounds without questioning why they dare hurt in the first place. We just tend to what hurts and wait until it heals. Why should we do any less to ourselves and our illnesses? That’s acceptance.
The second part--active healing--is trickier, and slower, and far more intricate a process than acceptance. It also requires you return to step one (acceptance) almost every single day. Or, if you’re like me, and have a mood disorder, every hour of every day, for the rest of your life--period. But all active healing really is, in the end, is looking at why acceptance was so hard for you and filling that in with love and care.
Active healing means you tend to your wounds. You get out of bed. You brush your teeth. You shower. You make food. You do chores. You go for a walk. You take your medication. You call your doctor if you feel like you need help outside of your appointments. You remove habits that no longer serve you in healthy, useful ways. You indulge in things you like to comfort yourself when you’re feeling down. You realize that you might need more time to do things, but that extra time doesn’t diminish the importance of what you do. You’re healing. You’re on the mend. You will always be recovering and repairing. This doesn’t have to be shameful or exhausting (even though it can be--but then you start back from acceptance and slowly work yourself back up). It just is.
Which, finally, returns me to Mass Effect 2, The Lazarus Project, and a resurrected Commander Shepard who has their military background include a deep emotional scar added into the mix of the very current emotional scar of having died in space. Jacob tells you that you were “just meat and tubes” the first time he saw you. You weren’t a corpse--you were pieces of a corpse. And you were remade from every atom--including your illnesses. Including your wounds, private hurts that only you ever felt or knew about.
How would this make you feel?
How would you feel about this life, this second pass through the universe, this mulligan on oblivion that pulled you back to this ol’ mortal coil? Angry, undoubtedly. It’s why renegade Shepard in Mass Effect 2 is something of a raging vicious psychopath--but I can’t quite blame them. not really.
Remember the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer? When Buffy finally lets slip that she wasn’t in hell, suffering--she was in some kind of heaven? She was happy. She was at peace. And her friend dragged her soul back to its body, forcing her to dig her own way out of her grave, back to life, before she suffocated and died once again. She got her life back, but was never asked if she wanted it back.
That’s Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 2. That’s baseline commander shepard in Mass Effect 2.
Now imagine a mentally ill Shepard having to bear this burden. I’m not questioning whether or not Shepard could endure it (you’ve probably played the trilogy--you know the answer to that question). I’m simply asking you to imagine it. Imagine a marine of whom the galaxy, the entire galaxy, demanded everything. Every thankless task, every brutal mission, every hard choice, every life-altering, life-threatening, life-shortening thing possible under every sun. Imagine a marine lying in a pool of their own blood being told, “it didn’t work,” and their response is, “what do you need me to do?”
What do you need me to do? That, my friends, is the central question of acceptance and active healing. What do you need me to do? Ask your illnesses this when times are tough, or even when times are good. What do you need me to do? Maybe your brain wants to trick you every now and then. Slips in an invasive thought, or a self-destructive demand. Maybe it tries to sell you on a suspicion, building up to full-scale paranoia. These are not things you should feed into; they aren’t actions you should take. More pain will not serve you. Hurting yourself in any way is not the answer to an already existing pain.
Acceptance. Active healing. What do you need me to do? Assess your damage, know that pain will always be integral to your existence, but is by no means the only thing that defines it, and figure out how to respond to it.
Instead of looking at your traumas, your symptoms, your triggers, your anythings as flaws, as failures, as setbacks, as things to hate and be ashamed of, look at it as a part of you in need of care, and ask, What do you need me to do?
And remember this last piece of advice: be kind. Because even after destruction, Commander Shepard took just one more breath--one more small gasp of life. And sometimes that’s all you can ask of yourself: just one more breath. And then another. And another. This is probably the hardest lesson anyone with an illness will ever have to learn: you are healing. You will always be healing. You will always have to take just one more breath. Because that’s what you need to do for you. No one else.
So breathe.

So when thumbs up this hump day hangout is going to be magic. So all right, I’m going to go around as I see it, and let’s get going so Hernan you’re first up, man, how you doing today?
I’m good, man. And good. I am excited to be here. Happy to be the first half of the Hangout of the year excited for a really good 2021. And yeah, wishing you Everyone, the best Happy New Year. And I thank you for your continued support. And I hope that you crush it 2021 for everyone that’s watching, so Well, thank you. I will I appreciate you saying that to me. You got a man.
All right, Marco, how you doing today?
What can I say? Man? It is Groundhog Day.
Groundhog Day? Oh, yeah, help it is the price I pay for the life I live man. You know,
dude, listen, I just posted an image. In the Hangout, I was gonna post it in, in our Facebook group and in the heavy hitter club. Because that’s where I share, right? The big, the heavy duty stuff. But I wanted to show it here, because this is my conversation with client. This is the position that you guys got to get to this is this is powerful. This is what I do with the clients, I tell give me three months, give me three months to show your results. And then we’ll talk and it’ll be just whatever. It’s never any lower than 7500 a month. And it can go to whatever depending on competition, depending on market, just whatever. Alright.
And then from there, what I say is in another three months, when this thing is zooming and just going nuts. We’ll sit again, and we’ll have a talk on making it more permanent. And then we’ll discuss the what the final fee is going to be.
Look at those results. I got this conversation coming on Friday. Don’t talk about going in there and saying, Oh, you need me to do to do for you. But I don’t need you to do to do I do.
That’s POFU, man. And that’s where you guys got to get desperate. You got to work on me. I’m I saw that. I said, Oh, this guy. He’s a he’s in trouble. Because he know, he knows. I’m already charging them well, but he knows it. It’s gonna be quite more
outstanding. I got nothing to add to that. That’s a good way to do it. Marco because it’s nice walking in with that, right? Yeah, man. It’s like so this is these are the numbers that Google are giving us. I take them through through search console and take them through analytics. And we have goals set and analytics on what I’ve explained this before, on what the value of the money pages are, what the customer value is and what the final checkout value is. So I have all that I know everything that’s going on on that website, but you can’t say shit. Except, yeah, man we made we made that much. And yeah, you should be getting that. He should say I should be getting half of it. But I mean, negotiating that yet.
Outstanding. Outstanding. All right, Chris. How about you, man? How you doing today?
Yeah, things are exciting. Like, I don’t know, like, I’m working on a couple things for Semantic Mastery here. So yeah, like, knows, knows. But like, stay tuned. There’s some really good stuff coming. So you can help out other than that.
Snow took this morning. I’m quite happy about that. So I hope like, I don’t know, like towards the end of January. I can still hit the slopes for like a week or so before the kids are back out of school. But yeah, like, other than that pretty good things here. All right. Last but not least, Bradley, how you doing today? Good, man. Happy New Year to you all. I see that they get Jim. So somebody on the page said fuck 2020 dubs. So yeah, I second that sentiment.
But yeah, I’m happy to be here. Although, apparently, there’s a bunch of unrest going on in Washington DC, which is kind of like, you know, my backyard. So who knows at 2021 is kind of getting off to a rocky start as well. But who knows, man? All we can do is make the best out of it, right? Yep. Yep. We got a few things that cover to before we go in. Marco. I’ll come back to you. I definitely want to touch base on charity webinars. But real quick, just want to say if you’re watching us for the first time, first of all, welcome to 2020 Welcome to Hump Day, or 2021. Welcome to Hump Day Hangouts. I find that shield your site, don’t worry about algorithm updates again, and it’s free training. So head over there. It’s the SEO shield, the word the SEOshield.com. And secondly, we also hear a lot from agency owners or just consultants, right? Who want to grow your revenue, you want to scale your team and get more and better clients. We have got a ton of training that primarily Bradley and a blueprint on put together some of this in double your agency and you can find that at 2xyouragency.com.
And if you’re ready to really grow your digital marketing business, whether you’re the owner of a business and you’re taking you’ve taken on the digital marketing side, whether you’re again, a consultant, whether you’re an agency owner, then the mastermind is the place for you to be find out more about that at mastermind dot semantic mastery.com. And I just mentioned that at the beginning, but I do want to touch base, again, done for you services, it’s the stuff we use ourselves, you can find all of it at mgyb.co. That’s a syndication networks, the SEO shield link building press releases all that stuff, and much, much more. Now, like I said, at the beginning, we’re going to talk to Marco real quick, if you haven’t heard yet, or you haven’t been in Hump Day Hangouts, I want to put it in your head a little bit about what’s going on with charity webinars, how you can get access to them. And a little bit more details about, you know, how you’re helping and who you’re helping by attending these webinars.
Well, who you’re helping is just people who have nothing, said this before, I’ll say it again, poverty in Costa Rica is not like poverty in the US poverty in the US, you see people going up and picking up the food bags, in their cars. These people have no fucking cars. Most of them don’t even have a fucking driver’s license, man. They never they can never ever hope to own a car, let alone pick, go pick up the help in a car. I mean, I I saw that I said, oh my god that’s like, being down and out in the US that that that’s, you know, needing help. In the US here needing help. It’s like, you have absolutely nothing. I’ve said this. Again, I’ve said this before, when I grew up, we literally had nothing. And on some nights, my mom would just drink a glass of warm water and go light light stomach down on the bed, so you don’t feel hungry.
That’s the poverty that we’re talking about. And that’s people right now starving, who have nothing getting to wash their hands. They have no so no running water, no heat, no electricity.
And so that’s what we’re talking about. These are the people that we’re looking to help we help the children. And we help the families we do provide some assistance to the families, especially food so they can feed the children. We take them from school, from grade school, all the way through technical training, so that they can get one of the jobs that they have that they’ve made available that the companies here have made available. We also provide scholarships for children who show the inclination to attend the University. We just have one who got her master’s degree in, in preschool education, I believe it is. I can’t remember but she just got her master’s degree. And now she has a job at the university. We got, of course, Fernando, the guy in the YouTube channel, who is who is a start up again, this his story he started out with with 10 of his friends coming in and out of the charity, and all but Fernando are dead.
Due to drugs due to getting shot kills, or just whatever, it doesn’t matter. That’s what we’re talking about. So what I do with the charity webinars is I simply give away the farm, basically, because you guys are kind enough to donate. I just tell you what’s working. I I’m right now I’m showing an image in the hump day Hangout, but we’re actually going to talk about what it is it’s working, that’s producing those results. It’s not just happenstance, is that just shit that we come up with? That we say, oh, let’s see if this sticks. And we don’t we throw it up against the wall. Maybe it could might work? No, we know what’s working. And we know what will be working. And I’m going to have people come in and tell people what it is that’s working, and why and how it is that now it’s it’s two things. It’s the way that you do content, and the way that you do code for the bot that’s bringing it all together. And so that we’re going to explain this to people in detail, so that you can go and take on 2021 and be like supremely confident that you can go into any niche and literally rule any niche. Now I’m not saying you’re going to take on Amazon. We had that question. No, that’s a that’s a trillion dollar company. I think it was a million dollar investment that well, millions to start with. It wasn’t just it wasn’t bootstrap. Okay. Google wasn’t bootstrap. YouTube was a bootstrap. Yes, there are some bootstrap companies which grew to that point. But it’s the exception rather than the rule. And so look at look at that. But if you want to go into a niche, and take a chunk out of it, if you want to go into a category, let’s say in Amazon, and take a chunk out of that, it’s there for the taking. So with that, I have posted the page to the donation, what you do is you donate, then you send an email, and I’ll post the email, send an email to that Gmail, and my VA will notify you when or how to sign up for the webinars and when they start
standing. Alright, yeah, if you haven’t yet, I highly suggest doing that. You know, like Marco says, you know, your heart determines, you know, if you could, if you’re gonna do this, your wallet determines how much you know, it’s any amount anything helps. So, if you can, it’s definitely appreciated, you know, by us, but you know, we’re not the benefactors. You know, there’s a lot of people out there who need the help. And, you know, I think all of us have been helped at some point in our life, or at least that’s how I look at it. I know, there’s been people who have helped me in different ways. And you know, being able to do something like this is truly remarkable. So with that said, Guys, anything else we need to cover before we dive into it? Alright.
So grab the screen.
Guys, you see my screen? Correct? Correct? Yes. Okay.
How Do You Use Microworking Sites Like Mturk To Help Scale Up SEO Efforts?
So it looks like Troy is up first. He says, Is there anything we can do with micro working sites like mturk, or Mechanical Turk? To help scale up SEO efforts? I saw a video on another channel where they used micro workers to boost CTR, but from what Bradley says this is not a good practice anymore. Wondering if there is some other stuff we can do instead? Happy New Year. Yeah. This question we we’ve gotten this question often Troy So, you know, there, we used to talk about CTR, or CT bots, or CT spam bots, which click through spam.
That used to work really well used to use crowd search.me, which was a product by Dan Anton, it worked like gangbusters for quite some time, that methodology works. But Google’s algorithm has gotten so much better because of it tracking profiles and users and building like profile histories. for users, that it’s so easy to discount, it’s so easy for the algorithm to just automatically recognize spam traffic. Right? Does that make sense? So in other words, if the way that it would work was in the past, and micro task workers worked well, for this, this is, you know, before the algorithm has gotten advanced, as it has now, as it is now I mean, and what would happen was, we would and I learned this, by the way from Ivan budimir, all the way back in like, I think 2011.
I don’t remember what he called it, but I coined the term CT, spam, click through spam. And he talked about hiring microtasks workers, either from microtasks workers or from Mechanical Turk. And there was, there was a several other sites that you could do it. And what we would do is go out and set, you know, set up a gig, a microtasks gig that would state, go search Google for whatever keyword, then locate this URL, right click through, and then copy, because you would always provide like an answer box that they would. So it would be like copy the 23rd word and the fourth paragraph, or something like that. And that would be the answer that they would have to paste in. Because what it would do is would force them to do a Google search for a keyword, right? Or it could be a brand search, but at the time, we were doing mainly keyword searches, then they would click through once they found the URL, they click through to it. So that’s a good signal. And then they would have to spend some time on that page to locate that word that we would tell them that, you know, would be the answer to the question, right? That that they would have to solve in order for it to be a chargeable or a billable micro task, right? so that they could get paid. And that would cause dwell time on the page because they’d have to locate that particular word. And it would take some time, usually, there’d be some scrolling involved. And it would just be dwell time on page. You could set up multi steps, like you know, once you copy and paste that word and click through to the contact page or something like that. So you’d get like another page view out of it. There’s different things that you could do. And it worked really, really well. But the hard thing about it was it was it was hard to regulate when you’re using micro task workers.
How much volume you would get, you could continually lowering the lowering the cost per task completed to where like, not very many people would take that task. But, uh, yeah, and you could also change your budget and stuff like that, but it’s kind of a bitch to manage it was worked incredibly well. And we’re talking about like, way back in 2011 2012. I mean, within a matter of two to three days, you could see a significant jump, and search positioning just from that alone. Then, people started automating that Dan Anton was one of the first that I’m aware of, he had a really great product crowd search.me that I mean, it just kicked ass like crazy. It worked for about the first year and a half, and then it slowly started stopped working, like started to be less and less effective. And, you know, my understanding is that Google’s algorithms started to catch up to that, right. So a few different things proxies, the bots that they would use to create or perform the search and click throughs.
Were going through commercial proxies. And because of that, commercial proxy traffic was oftentimes just discounted. It’s not that it would hurt anything, it just wasn’t really counted. And then since that time, so I really stopped using it. But since that time, I know the algorithm has gotten way, way better, because, for example, I do a ton of YouTube advertising, or Google advertising, right, I do a lot of Google ads. And there is intent based marketing, there’s audience and intent based marketing groups, right. So that you can that you can purchase traffic from audiences that Google has already determined, are in market for particular products or services, or they’ve been there, they’re having certain are experiencing certain life events, and all that kind of stuff. So it’s intent based audiences. And so you know, and just two or three years ago, there wasn’t near that the the targeting options within Google ads as there are now and so what I’m what I’m trying to get at is that Google can understand from the visitor to a page, right and through because so many things are connected to Google, that Google can understand the history of the search history, kind of like the profile of what that Google user is into, right? There’s affinity audiences, where those are like affinities are like things that people have a long term interest in. There’s in market type audiences, which are people that are in the last 30 days have suddenly expressed an interest in a product or service, based upon their search history, the content that they engage with all of that kind of stuff. So that’s how Google determines that they’re likely in market for something life events, again, somebody getting married, or moving or getting a promotion or retiring. Like, oftentimes, Google can identify them because of their search history and the communications they have within Gmail, and all of these things that Google uses to develop a profile an avatar for that, that that user, that, then it can determine what its behaviors and interests are right. And so if you’re just buying click throughs, from spam bots, or from micro task workers that express no interest whatsoever in whatever you’re buying traffic to, they have no history of that or anything else, then how much weight does Google give that click through? Very little, if any, does that make sense. And it’s because Google can recognize when it’s a kind of a forced or a spam type, click through because of the the lack of history or geographical relationship, you know, again, everything I do is local, I don’t do any sort of affiliate stuff anymore at all. So I think spam traffic might work better on kind of a more national or global type scale, where it’s not locally based stuff, but especially with local projects, buying click throughs from spam bots, or from micro task workers that could be anywhere in the world.
It really is not providing any sort of benefit, because it’s very, it’s a non relevant traffic signal, if that makes sense. So what is the solution? That’s really what you want to know, right? I just kind of want to give a little bit history. We talked about this often, because this question comes up often, but I always feel like this is a good question for people to ask to start to understand how much more advanced Google has been has got, has become. And so if you want click through from relevant audiences, is absolutely beneficial to SEO, right? Because it’s again, it’s what Marco always talks about art activity, relevance, trust and authority, but its activity. But now it’s from a relevant audience. And it’s from a trusted Google user if you’re buying traffic directly from Google. So that’s my answer to you is use Google ads.
You can use YouTube ads, which are very inexpensive. If you get your audience targeting right with YouTube ads. You can get very inexpensive clicks. What
So it’s not just about the views, I used to always use YouTube ads about views. But now I’m actually optimizing for clicks and ultimately conversions. And if you get your audience targeting, right, you can get very, very inexpensive clicks, like roughly $1.50 per click from YouTube, that’s highly relevant traffic, because it’s coming from a relevant audience, you can set geographical targeting, so that only you’re getting clicks from IPS within a certain geographic region, they’re from audiences that have you know, again, are either in market or have an affinity or life events, or you can even create what’s called custom audiences. All of those the Google on like a sending traffic, they’re only exposing your ad to people that are likely going to click it because of the audience targeting that you selected within a specific geographic area if it’s for local. And then when that click does occur, it’s highly weighted, and there’s chance, a chance that that visitor from the click through is going to convert, because you’re buying traffic from a relevant audience. And so I just mentioned YouTube, but Google Display Network, Display Network ads are same thing, you can buy clicks directly from the display network using the same audience targeting that you can for YouTube. So we’re talking about like, typically, for cold traffic campaigns from the Google Display Network. So display ads, you know, I usually get clicks for anywhere between 60 to 60 cents to like, $1.15. So somewhere in that range, probably on average, around 85 cents per click. So it’s inexpensive, and it’s super effective, because you’re buying traffic from a relevant audience that is, that has it stands a good chance of actually converting whatever your conversion goal is, opt in form, product sale, you know, whatever estimate request, whatever it may be phone call, you can set up all those conversion actions, and then that conversion action is an additional huge SEO signal that micro task workers aren’t going to do, but you’re not going to get a micro task worker to submit a opt in form. And if you do, that’s a, that’s an invalid lead for you anyways, right? You’re not going to get a micro task worker to call the phone number with a conversion action type, you know, a tag essentially a conversion goal set to dialing that phone number, because it would be an invalid lead for the business. Does that make sense. But real traffic from real people that are that are potentially interested in the product or service, it’s likely that they are going to convert, and it’s going to be a true lead or a true sale or a true whatever it is that you’re optimizing for. So again, I just want to reiterate guys use Google ads, YouTube ads, Google Display Network, you can accomplish exactly what you want to do with a click through spam bot or a micro task workers. But you’ll get much, much better results from irrelevant audience that has a much better chance of converting, which is what you ultimately want. Anyways, Marco, you want to comment on that?
Yeah, just just one thing, if you use micro test work is like they can be a good jumpstart, but then never gonna convert, as you said. So what what happens is it becomes an expense, it’s a cost to you, rather than you being able to profit from whatever it is that they’re going to do, it is a good way to jumpstart like to get the bot to come in to look, look at the dwell time, look at look at all the other things, and to send you more traffic. Now here’s the problem. If you haven’t properly optimized for that traffic that you will get, then then you got big issues, because then you’ll be sending Google negative signals. Right. Whereas if you if Google starts sending you traffic to figure out what this is all about the signals are different. You’ll have traffic from Mechanical Turk, that set a pattern. And the pattern it might be different than the pattern that’s established by the traffic that you get from real people. Of course, they’re probably different because you’re directing the the micro tests working on what it is that they have to do on your website, and how long they need to spend watching your video and how and all of these instructions, where a real person is never going to set to follow a set of instructions to the letter because you as a human being have no instruction, you have life. And I’ve said that before you have life happening. You’re watching a video, and you got to click off. I gotta turn this off because I gotta go, my baby fell, I gotta go take care. I come back two hours later, I might finish watching the video, I might just close it.
And people real people act differently. And you can’t account for that. No matter how good the analytics getting YouTube, you cannot account for these people just having different behaviors. Now, another thing that you have to account for is where are these people coming from? Are they come in from the same block of IPS?
The IPS, but there are so many things where, as you said, you can just pay Google you can pay you to And not only that, you can go to
You can go to Facebook, you can Instagram, you can go to Twitter, you can go to what do you call it, Pinterest, all of these different places and for a couple of 100 bucks a month, you’re going to get real people. And you will recover that money so that it’s not, even if it’s a wash, the signals that you’re telling Google are way better than anything that any microtasks worker can give you. Because that micro testwork, as you said, is never going to convert. So you’re never going to recover the money that you’re paying for that micro task worker unless you trigger that traffic. And then it’s traffic where you’ve already set up your website to convert the way that it’s supposed to.
Is It Possible To Embed YouTube Videos Into A GMB Post?
Alright, so the next one says Happy 2021 Sam. Thank you, he says, got a question about local GMB. Is it possible to embed YouTube videos in a GMB post I tried but only found an option to upload a video. And it would be nice to just embed a video though thanks No, not that I’m aware of. If you put the URL in the post, it will be a hyperlink but it will not turn into an embed. And you can’t put code into a GMB post so you can’t really embed an I’ve put an iframe in it. So as far as I know, all you can do is upload however, uploading videos as opposed to just normal text posts or you know, image plus text posts. For GMB. You’ll see that similar to Facebook, when you just do an image post. If you do a video post, it gets more views. Facebook shows it to more people are gets exposed to more people essentially. Or if you do a live stream in Facebook, it gets shown to even more people than a video would. Does that make sense? And so with I’ve noticed with GM B’s when you upload a video, it tends to get a lot more views than just an image-based GMB posts. So if you’ve got videos there, in my opinion, why not upload the video file? It takes a little while to render and all that kind of stuff. But I think videos is a good strategy for GMB posts just to kind of add some variety. Any comments on that? Yeah, no, you cannot embed videos in in a GMB posts. You have to upload them natively into the GMB. It helps. It helps because it’s it stays that people most people won’t do. Yeah, put that call to action in that video link. Make sure because it’s not YouTube. So make sure that people know exactly what it is that you want them to do what it is that you’re looking to, for them to do. And nice thumbnail in the beginning. Nice. Nice. Nice CTA in the beginning, nice CTA in the end towards the middle, and something flashing on the screen so that you’re reminding people of what it is that you’re wanting them to do. Don’t make it too long, because people aren’t there on their mobile phones and they’re not going to stand or sit there all that long to watch through that video. But yeah, it’s a really good way to drive traffic into your GMB. I don’t do it that much. But when I when I do use them, it works really well. I’m driving traffic to my GMB strictly through the way that that I do the the posts through the way that I do the images and through the through the way that I do the press releases that link to all of that and the way that dedhia hits it on and just hammers the crap out of
How Do You Use Firebase In Backlinking?
the next question is about the Google shortener that has been deprecated. Since Google stopped the goo.gl shortening service. It’s got too many O’s in there, but that’s okay. It mentioned something called Firebase Can this be used for similar backlinking? What would be the easiest way to get started? Thank you, Marco. I’m gonna let you take that one. Because I never did anything in Firebase, but I know you did. Yeah, I mean, just follow your structures. It’s all there on how to set it up. I mean, we can’t go through it here. either use Firebase or use the MGYB shortener lot of power in MGYB. It’s a good point. So go to mgyb.co/s. And that’s the MGYB.co shortener, you can do it with a free account. Or you can have a paid account that gives you additional functionality and all that other kind of stuff. But yeah, it’s the MGYB.co slash s. And that’s our shortener, which we’ve been building power into now for few years, a couple years, at least two and a half years, something like that. And it’s pretty incredible how powerful those short URLs can be. So yeah, or you can try to set up Firebase on your own. I’ve never done anything with it, though. So so on on the shortener on MGYB. If you have a paid account, what you’re able to do is you’re able to flip out the destination. So talking about being imperfect and total control of everything, when you shorten everything through MGYB. And you get this crappy client who then after you’re getting him or her fantastic results refuses to pay. If you’ve done things the way that we teach you with which is absolutely use the MGB shortener to power everything up because of the power that’s built into MGYB. And then the power that’s built into the drive stacks and G sites, when you’re controlling all that
And you turn it off, and you can flip out the destination. So yeah, so that that power can go elsewhere. I mean, there’s other things that you can do, you can tag it with geo tagging, this all sorts of things that you can do with it with the paid account that you cannot do with the free account. And but one of the main things is having that ability to control it.
And to change the destination of that 301.
There you go.
How To Leverage A Brand Name To Increase Rankings For Service And Branded Search Results?
So next question was,
I have a competitor who has a very generic business name that contains some keywords in it, who is ranking above me? What are some ways to leverage the brand name to increase rankings for service and branded search results? So you’re asking, I’m not sure I follow the question. Maybe he’s asking what are some ways to leverage his own brand name? Or are you talking about leveraging your competitors brand name, which is generic? I’m assuming you’re talking about your projects brand name?
That’s a good question, Marco. I mean, just what we talked about with the SEO shield and powering up the entity and eventually and then local GMB Pro, especially if we’re talking about the Well, I don’t know, he’s not talking about the maps back but RYS. So essentially, the SEO shield and then what we talked about for powering up the entity, which is all included to everything that we do is about an intensity based CTO. And eventually you should I mean, it doesn’t even have to be eventually if you’re pretty aggressive about it, you ought to be able to overcome that relatively quickly as as you build authority to your brand. Because Google is absolutely in favor of brands over generic websites and keyboard based stuff now. So Marco, what do you say it’s what we teach, right? You create a brand, a brand that’s marketable, a brand that’s identified that’s identifiable, a brand.
I talked to my direwolf group on on the mini mastermind group on Tuesday night. And I always tell them, I can’t remember which which tribe it was, which Native American tribe. But they wanted a remembered fight so that if they were going to go to war with somebody else, they wanted it to be something that was going to be spoken of, like, through the generations when they’re telling the story. They wanted that fight to be told. And this is what I have in my mind, when I’m looking at a brand new one, I’m looking to brand something is make it memorable, remembered brand. So that when you create the brand plus keyword association, the idea then is to relate all of those keywords to that brand because that’s how Google became a verb. That’s how Xerox to Xerox something became a verb, a zipper became a noun, and a verb to zip. And so when you’re doing these things and when you’re creating the brand plus keyword relationship, which is what we teach, and then you branch off into creating all of the keyword relevance into the categories, you continue the siloing. That’s when you’re going to outrank the person who has pigeon holed himself under this generic business with either an exact match, or partial match, or by including the location in the brand. But you do definitely pigeon holed when you’re doing that. You want to keep it so broad, that you can branch out to anything you want. Amazon started, the story of Amazon is so fantastic when we’re discussing this. Because Amazon started out as a bookstore, it was supposed to be an online bookstore. You have to remember the story of Jeff Bezo’s losing millions of dollars every year, until Amazon became what it became. Why was he able to branch out into all of these different things or now, it’s like you used to go to the corner store to look for something, or to the clothing store. Or you go to Amazon, and you look for anything you want. How was he able to do that he called the fucker Amazon.
They call it Google. They call it Yahoo. April, we all know what a Yahoo is, right? But you call that a foolish person. Let’s just leave it at that. But all of these memorable remembered brands and and other brands that that simply just go by the wayside, because they’re not memorable. So when you’re looking to do this is exactly what we teach and RYS Academy Reloaded. And what we’ve been teaching forever. I’ve been here for at least well over five years before all of this entity thing started on the web, but when it became a big deal, we were already teaching it brand plus keyword relationships. If you are Local, then you go brand plus location plus keyword, not necessarily in that order. But you get the idea of what it is that you have to do. And then you start pushing power, you start categorizing, you start extending your drive stack and you start creating the extensions to mirror your mind money said, there’s so many things that you can do when you’re doing this, because you’re not pigeon holed into that specific name. You can just make it anything you want. It’s remembered.
That’s right. Our name is Semantic Mastery. And it has been since we formed our Corporation in 2013, I guess it was. And so we were a bit ahead of the curve on that. We saw it coming way back then the Semantic Web and so we even optimized our own name for that for a few years there the first few years that Semantic Mastery was a corporation, I thought that we might have misjudged because it was a lot slower to roll out the Semantic Web, or for Google to adopt the Semantic Web than what we initially thought. But here we are in the in the thick of things now. So I think it was a good call on our part.
Is It A Good Monetization Strategy To Park Domain And How Does It Help From An SEO Standpoint?
All right. Next question is looking at branching out from a client project from client projects? And try my hand at lead gen and ecom? But I have but have a surplus of domains from over the years based on your experiences, parking domains, a good monetization strategy? I don’t know. I’ve never parked domains. So I can’t answer that.
The only thing I’ve ever done with domains that I’m not using or that I didn’t know, that had just been in my account, which I’ve got dozens and dozens and dozens of them now is I will use them as you know, kind of like PBN, style sites. I don’t build PBNs anymore. But every now and then I will use something for kind of a buffer site for really more testing purposes than anything. And I’ve also, the first money I ever made online was from flipping domains. But you know, I only did that a handful of times before I realized that I could make a lot more money by developing the domain first before flipping it, right. So or developing it and then renting it, which is what how I got started in rank and rent, when I first started in lead gen, and all that kind of stuff. So I don’t know about parking domains. I can’t imagine it’s a very lucrative strategy of any kind. But does anybody here have any comments on that?
parking domains?
Sorry about that I was muted, man. It’s not something I do. It’s not something that that I can give him much guidance on. Although, if you have a very old domain, the domain age could help.
It’ll have more to do with with like, what you’ve been doing maybe with that park domain? Is it just does it have that like that generic page from the host? That it is a parked domain? Or have you? Does it have some use that. It doesn’t have any history? That’s why if you’re going to do that you better off buying an expired domain with a good backlink profile, that’s going to hit your power immediately. Because that that park domain, if you’re not giving it any power, it’s really nothing there other than the history of it being parked forever, and doing nothing.
Yeah, and so when I mentioned some of the times that I’ve used domains for kind of like feeder type sites, not necessarily PB ends, not in the traditional sense, but there’s another question further down I saw earlier it was talking about so hopefully we’ll get to that was asking about using, like WP robot or something for auto blogging. And that’s where I have, and still to this day will build sites occasionally as like feeder type sites that are I guess, somewhat kind of like PBN sites, but they’re auto blog sites that are populated with content from other sources from various sources, which is what we teach, like, for example, with syndication Academy, or multi tiered syndication networks, we always talk about if you’re going to be using a multi tiered syndication network for blog syndication, right to promote your money site, blog posts. Then on the second tier syndication networks, we talked about adding in additional content, relevant content source content RSS feeds, because then you can auto populate those syndication network sites, just like you could a domain, right a domain that you’re not using, you could set up auto, like essentially auto blog type sites that have relevant content all about a particular topic or within a particular topical theme. And then you can auto syndicate your own content to that, so long as it’s mixed and buried in depth, but again, you still got to remember guys, you have to know how to hide your footprint when you’re doing that, because that’s unlinking scheme. And Google’s algorithm is very, very good at being able to pick up on that now. It’s, it’s crazy, that’s why I just don’t really bother with that kind of stuff anymore, because we found you know, how to do it with Google’s own properties with our SEO shield method. So it’s a good question. But typically, like I said, You know, I do some auto blogging stuff still to this day, and we’re doing some testing now, for a product that we’re gonna be talking a lot more about. In the coming months, I actually just had a call with a developer today about that. So that’s coming soon, we’re going to be talking more about some really industrial strength auto blogging platform. But other than that, I would just, I would focus on something that’s going to produce better money for you now.
Have You Created And Ranked Local Listings With No Physical Location?
Next question, has anyone had any luck with creating local listings with no physical location and getting into the three pack for your targeted keywords? I don’t know down to the image, dude, scroll down to the image. Is that a, is that a no physical location? Yeah. Okay. I don’t know how you guys do that. Then? Because I don’t have any GMB is that don’t have a physical location, except for maybe some that I purchased as spammed verified GMB listings. But all the other ones that I’ve ever done have all had a physical location. So I’m not sure how you do that. So I can’t answer that question. Well, I think he’s talking about having a service area, rather than an actual brick and mortar.
Right, because we do we do the peel box with street address method.
Yeah, but right. I think that’s a service area, it really has no physical location. Well, yeah, it does. Because in order to verify the listing to well to, in order to request verification, you have to have a published or a physical location for them to send the postcard to So what exactly is a physical location or postcard? Because you can get the phone call method where they call right away, you can verify it that way. I understand. I haven’t seen that in two years, but and that may, it may still be available. I just haven’t seen that the phone verification. But in any case, what I’m saying is if you go to set up a GMB, they’re going to ask you for a physical location, period, end of story. The only way that I know of that, and again, I don’t do GMB verifications except through the postcard method. So there may be some spammers out there that know how to do it. I’m sure there are I just don’t do it that way. But I know that in the past, you used to be able to find published but unverified GMB listings and force a phone verification that way, but what I’m saying is for setting up a new GMB, when you go through that process, it requires a physical address in order for you to even ask for verification method. So I don’t know how you do it without a physical location, even if it’s only to collect the postcard up front. That’s what I’m saying. All right. So maybe maybe I misunderstood the question. I took that as being that it’s a service area, rather than a physical store where people and I may be missing interpreting Marco, you may be right in assuming what you assumed. And if that’s the case, absolutely. Can you rank in the three pack? That’s what I mean all. I’ve only had in my entire career, probably maybe six or eight clients that actually had a physical location, a storefront. Wow. And then I had a preschool client, he had multiple locations, but outside of that every other client I’ve ever had has been a contractor, which is a service area business. So we would, you know, there’s a physical location, but we hide the physical location from the listing. So it’s an unpublished physical location. And it’s a service area business and I’ve been very successful at ranking in the three pack over the years. So a service area business can absolutely rank in the three pack. I don’t know about a GMB without a physical address tied to it because I don’t know how you do that. I’m sure it can be done. I just don’t know how to do it. So
Do You Still Use GMB Briefcase?
anyways, Braga, blasters up he says do you guys still use GMB briefcase? Can you tell me a little me a little about that product? Okay, so yes, my team still uses GMB briefcase. Although I have to be honest, I just signed up last week for local Viking, which is the local client takeover version of what we have used as the GMB and it’s only because I’ve heard a lot of good things about local Viking. And so I just contacted my bloggers. As a matter of fact on Monday of this week to let them know that I’m going to be moving all of our GMB locations into local Viking. The reason I say that is because there is a ton of really cool features and local Viking that GMB briefcase just doesn’t have yet. Not only that, but the the kind of like the training and everything is better through local Viking and you know, I hate to say that because shripad, the developer for GMB briefcase. You know, we worked with him a few years ago, when he was kind of first launching that product but local Viking has obviously been developed better, faster. It’s got more features, more functionality. One of the main things that I wanted out of local Viking, which again, we haven’t started integrating it into my processes just yet but that’s coming from from my agency. So I will have bet more to add to this local Viking discussion in probably a month. But it provides an RSS output feed for the GMB and I know supposedly, the GMB briefcase does too, but I’ve never been able to get that to work. And something that I’m working on right now is using the GMB as my primary syndication source for clients because of some other project which i’ll reveal in a month in a few months. But my point is I’m trying on test starting to test with local Viking now and it seems to be a lot better for what I need than what the GMB briefcase was. But to answer your question, I’m my my bloggers are all still using GMB briefcase to this day. But I think that’s, that’s going to be going it’s gonna we’re going to be switching over to local Viking here within within within a month probably. So, any comments on that? No, I don’t use a GMB briefcase. I still have people going in as managers.
Is It Possible To Do Paid Ads For Spam GMB Listings?
Let’s see. The next question was from maka, blaster as well. He says, Is it possible to do paid ads for spam GMB listings? Of course you can. You can you can do paid ads. Well, Google ads, you can I don’t know about other platforms. But you can send Google Ads traffic to any Google property. Any Google property period, end of story.
Even if even if it’s spam, that’s verified. Yep. If it’s published, yep. If it’s published, you can do it.
Should You Create Separate Drive Stacks For Each Brand Within The Same Company Or Not?
So All right, next question. If you have a large company that operates multiple brands, would you have a single drive stack for all of them to store press releases PDFs, etc? And then make separate g sites? Or would it be better to have entirely separate stacks? The brands are all in similar niches. Now, that’s that’s a tricky question. In my opinion, maybe Marco will have some more insight on this. But in my opinion, you know, if you can create ambiguity, by trying to promote multiple brands under one brand, remember, we talked about branding and the entity and each each brand should be its own entity. And at least the way I understand it, they could be sister companies or parent and child companies. So you know, that kind of stuff. So there can be an umbrella company, and then child companies underneath that. And all of that, but I would treat at least unless and and again, obviously this question could be missing some context, right? Like I could be missing some context around what this question is, but I would treat every brand as its own entity, even if it has a parent organization. That’s just how I would do it. Marco, what would you do?
If they’re all branded differently? Even if there’s similar niches, I don’t know why you’d want to create all that confusion.
It could, it can get really complicated for the bot, to try to understand what the relationship is between all of these. And if there’s similar niches, you might end up competing, one against the other. I mean, that might be okay, if you’re looking to take over, like multiple spots in SERPs. That might be okay. I’m here without without more context, it’s really difficult to suppose what Google might could do. Right? I would just say, separate them. But then the one main entity, you can still create the parent child relationships under that one big entity, even if you’re branding out all of the others. So I would still have a separate design and dry stack for all of the different brands, but that parent could incorporate Sure. All of those into all of these different part of the whatever family of websites, part of the whatever family of plumbers, the way that we’ve done it before, right? When you have a brand for when you rank for plumbing in GMB correct. And then you have to change the brand. Well, you teach the people who answer the phone, how to answer the phone correctly so that there’s no ambiguity. When the person is calling you say, wait a minute, I was calling it XYZ plumber. Why is ABC answering? Well, you take care of that. When that person reaches the person who’s talking to you let them know who it is that they’re talking to right from the start.
Yeah, like ABC dot XYZ, right? alphabet is the parent company for Google. But Google is its own brand, right? And YouTube is its own brand. And so my point is that they’re, they’re all they’re all connected through the parent alphabet company, but they’re, you know, they’re all their own brands, and they’re all integrated together in some form or fashion, but they are all very strong brands on their own. Right. So even the business, the GMB right? You get a business site on on a separate domain. Although it’s Google’s, it’s it’s separate. And they’ve done they’ve done a really good job of separating all of these brands. Although we all know that YouTube belongs to Google. And we know whatever else belongs to Google. Same thing with Facebook and Instagram and WhatsApp, and all of these different things that Facebook owns. Yeah.
Do You Need To Have Different Contact Number To Each Spam GMB Listing?
So the next question, it says, For the feature that GMB has, where the customer can text you, can you put the same number in different spam GMB listings? Or does the number have to be different than all of them? And if so, is there a way around this? You know, I don’t know. That’s a good question. I haven’t used that a lot for clients. I’ve set it up for clients, but that goes directly to them. I’ve got a ton of lead gen assets that I have not,
you know, set up the messaging systems for although I know and I think GMB briefcase can do that. I’m pretty sure local Viking can do that. And so that’s again, I’ll be learning more about that as I start transferring all of my projects into local biking. And I’ll probably start messing with that, because that’s becoming more and more common. I know because several of my clients now are getting leads from their SMS. You know, the messaging feature from right within the SERPs, right? So for on a mobile search, you know, you can message right from, from the mobile SERP to the through the GMB to the contractor. Again, it’s all contractors that I’m dealing with. And I’m seeing that becoming more and more of a trend more and more leads are starting to come through the SMS function or the text messaging function of GMB for my clients that have enabled that. So it’s something that I am looking to start doing. I just haven’t started testing with it yet. So I can’t answer the question. Maybe Marco can, I would assume having the same phone number across multiple standard GMB listings, if it’s even if it will even allow you to do that I can imagine that would create a footprint that I would be wary of, especially when you can get phone numbers from Twilio, for example, for so cheap. I don’t know why that I would really want to create that footprint, but I can’t give you a solid answer on there. How about you Marco, I would not create that footprint at all, I would just go get different numbers you can get them.
They can all now they can all bring through with caller IDs to one number, right. So you can channel all of those, which would be a better way of keeping it separate. So you don’t establish that one phone number footprint in all of the spam especially the spam GMB that you cannot recover once they get suspended. It’s really hard to recover a spam GMB man, a great
100% agree and you know, again, $1 a month per phone number, an SMS you know, if you’re getting charged per SMS text, it’s very, very inexpensive opinion it’s worth the dollar per month per phone number. They can all forward it to the same phone number, but that way you’re eliminating any potential footprint. So I totally agree with what Marco has set up caller ID so that you don’t get anything confused. Yeah.
Okay, let’s see. And guys, again, I’m working on something really, really big and we’ll talk about it and probably it’s going to be several weeks before I’m ready to really reveal it but um, I’ve got a platform that I’m using that is working incredibly well to make it super easy to get phone numbers. And it’s it’s it’s just crazy some of the stuff that can be done. So that’s coming that’s coming in a couple months.
Is It Still Viable To Use RSS Plugins Like WP Robot When Setting Up Autoblogs?
All right next is Jerry says how do you all when it comes to setting up auto blogs? This is the question I was talking about earlier and we’re almost out of time when it comes to setting up auto blogs. Is it still viable to use RSS plugins like WP robot to automatically grab content from feeds and provide citations to the source? If not, how would you recommend approaching this as a as a way to generate traffic automatically. Okay, I don’t know about WP robot. I haven’t used any plugins to do that kind of stuff and yours.
Because I’d always used IFTTT and then just create my own spliced feeds or have multiple triggers. So so essentially multiple applets to feed a WordPress blog with different RSS feeds. As I was talking about earlier, Damon Nelson came out with RSS masher. And he’s it’s just been recently rebranded as to RSS master technology or whatever. And I know that that works really, really well. You can create some beautiful auto blogs with that. I know there’s a ton of a learning curve to that, though.
What something else that and again, I was just talking to Jeremy, the developer today of the condis app. I had a call with him earlier this morning. And he that’s what I was talking about where there’s this industrial strength product that he’s been developing now for months. That is, you know, it looks super promising. I can’t wait to start testing with it because I’ve seen some of the results that he’s been able to achieve with it. And so we’ve got a beta group going right now.
No, Adam, I don’t know if you’re still listening. But if you had that opt in page for the condis program, if you want to drop the link, you guys can get on a waiting list when the beta is done, we’re gonna open it up to some more. So again, I would use something like RSS masher or the product that we’re going to be talking about when it’s ready called condis. In the coming months, yeah, I’ll put that on the page in a sec. Okay.
Uh, but yeah, Marco, do you have any comments on that one? No, no, I’m waiting on Candace also. I mean, I’ve been in there playing with it.
Yeah, in the meantime, RSS masters is available. And that, again, that that can do exactly what your what you need. I can’t speak on WP robot or anything, because I just haven’t used anything like that, and probably five years at least. So.
What Is The Perfect Time To Order The SEO Shield?
Alright, ah, Lang? lanner. I’m not sure if I’m pronouncing that right. I think we chatted in Facebook, just in the last 24 hours or so anyways, he says I got my keyword research which exceeded my expectations. fantastic work. Thank you for that. He says, M and M now building my website. My question is this when I do order the SEO shield? Do I order after I have built the website and added my three categories in supporting category pages, etc? Or can I order while building the website? What will be the next product order afterwards? RYS link building, etc. Okay, here’s how I’m going to answer that.
I talked about this last week, if you go back and watch last week’s previous Hump Day Hangout, or look at the most recently uploaded videos on our channel, you’ll see it’s been separated out as its own video clip now, where it talks about, if you have multiple locations, do you order another RYS stack for each location? Or how do you handle that? in that question, I think is like an eight or, you know, eight or 10 minute answer.
I talked about this. So you can go back and review that too, because we’re almost out of time. But what I do now, is I don’t even create keyword plus or brand plus keyword Association on the top level stack right on the SEO shield order the SEO power shield order, what I’m doing now is just ordering a branded stat period, right, I still give them my top level keywords and all that. But I specifically state in the order that I just want the top level stack and the G site branded. That’s it, right and so, and yet again, I tell them the niche, I give them the keywords, so they’ll go out and populate all that with relevant content based around the keywords that I provide. But I just want a branded top level, g site and stack. And then because I’m going going to set up silos for all of my top level keywords or all my top level keywords are going to get there each own separate silo, right? And so then I go in after that. So to answer your question, all you need is the URL for your money site in this the way that I do it. Now, you don’t need to have categories and silos and all that stuff set up on your site, because the way that I’m doing it is just a branded stack. All I’m trying to do is promote the brand itself on the top level. And then I go in and order an RYS Expansion Stack for all of my top level keywords or tops all of my silos, and then also for all of my locations, if it’s a multi location business, so each location gets its own RYS expansion, and each top level keyword or, or silo, right, so top level category of siloed, my site around those, each one of those gets its own ROI is expansion stat. So all I need in order for me now to order and SEO power shield, which is what we recommend, is a domain that is live. And that has at least one post in the RSS feed because you need that for the syndication network, the RSS feed has to contain one item, even if it’s the Hello World item that comes default in a WordPress setup. So that’s how I do it again, I don’t I used to always also do keyword Association plus brands. So I picked my top level keyword and tie that to the brand. But I don’t like that i think it’s a cleaner look to have the top level g site and ROI stack is just the brand. And then I make the associations with RYS expansions for all my top level cyber silos and my locations as well. Marco, what do you say? Yeah, I mean, it’s fine. To do that. Just make sure that you’re posting on that WordPress site at least once a week, because we’re getting Twitter to kill it. If it lay if it lies dormant. We had our shutdown, we as a matter of fact, I think it’s the MGYB or something that I’m working on something that’s shut down because it just wasn’t us. So in order to just you prime it right because that’s what the workers are going to do. And then you establish, it could be every 10 days every week or so. You just do a post you can do a quick post, it’s okay. And then you establish that pattern that you will be posting and that gets you the profiles to last longer, but yeah, you can do it perfectly just the way you said.
yeah and then we got to wrap it up guys it’s five o'clock but the order in which you order things is if you’re ordering an SEO power shield, you’re going to get the syndication network and first and that gets delivered first and then the syndication network profiles get built into the drive stack it’s not something you have to do it’s automatically done when you order the SEO power shield it gets delivered in stages and then each subsequent stage builds upon the previous and so and then afterwards you know link building and again and again land lanner I’m sorry if I if I need to learn how to pronounce your name apparently anyways if you I think I You and I were chatting and Facebook and I sent you the process street process doc that’s all listed in there the order in which to do things it’s all in that process street process doc so it’s semanticmastery.com/process if you go to that guy’s you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about all of it is laid out there you can also go to the SEOshield.com opt in for free and go through a four part training series there that will tell you the proper order and sequence can also read the battle plan. Any other guys will always teach the same sequence so it’s available in many many different locations. Um, so again, you know, I’m hoping to answer here but we’re out of time but at the same time like I said, Go to semanticmastery. com/process, you can learn it there you can also go to seoshield.com learn it there. You can also go to the battle plan and learn the proper sequencing of products and services there. Okay.
All right, everybody. Thank you for being here. And we will see you guys next week. Happy New Year. Bye, everyone.

Announcement
And speaking of live, we are live Welcome everybody to Hump Day Hangouts. This is Episode 320. Today is the sixth of January 2021. First Hump Day hangouts of the new year. So we are going to get into it. But first we’re gonna say hi to everyone real qu ick. We got some short announcements. And I just saw some great gifts on the page.
And for everyone watching, you know, just say hi, I know we got more people watching the comment, that’s normal. Just say hi, even if you just want to say hello, or let us know you’re here.

HEART BRAKER i still don’t know what i want but i’m trying to keep things entertaining without my glasses i was sure it was a heronimous bosch painting but it was a picture of us on mark’s couch the last time we all saw each other o sweet greedy inconsolable o party princess getting by with a little help from her damn self this is my horse named how to burn a bridge this is how easy it is to shift your paradigm: the more things you do that scare you, the less scary they are y como ser feliz? sit here in the shockwaves of my trail of broken hearts sit here in the trauma puddle of my own brewing mourn a home, mourn a former soul, mourn a worn-out body in some fantasy i will have hidden a hard drive to reinstall from an earlier state; live out all the possibilities be everybody’s wife in turn like i wanted we’ll fall in love one summer and i’ll shape myself around you like a living soft shell and then one of us will die reboot we’ll fall in love one summer and i’ll shape you and one of us will die reboot we’ll fall in love and we’ll die i guess the only comforting eternity is to live forever in a fixed point in history or the good old stand-by: nothing i’ve spent a good decade chasing the numbwave enough to know better walking through the basilica at el escorial and feeling most connected to the mural of the devil with a blurry face scrubbed out by some indignant monk who couldn’t bear to see it among the saints i’ve been having dreams where i have to warn my family the government is coming to put us in camps but they’ve been listening; their agent appears silently around a corner a man in a red t-shirt with no face or head, instead a blur and i’m too horrified to scream i wanna write everything, reflect until my life is an inside-out reflection of reflection live in a house with ice cubes always in the freezer and an animal always lounging on the floor. i feel ick and primed. i’ve looked across a sea and jumped it and what would i say if i could tell you anything? that language is so inexact; that feelings are slippery and i’m maybe not to be trusted with them. maybe still too much of an object to myself, still competing, deeply magic, the sky turns Bosch’s perfect rosy orangepink, the teal blue of his distant mountains. barry crimmins said “my drug of choice is my friends” so i’m gonna need you guys to get me real high and keep me real high LENGUA MATERNA i’ve got notches on notches on my belt yet it’s still hard to trust the simple fact of my voice to be enough to speak without owning or owing; to write like your mother is dead. still there’s no proper decoding into words these reverberations of memory, like i can paint for you but don’t make me speak i can dance for you but don’t make me speak i can exist for you but please don’t make me speak just call me angel of the mealy hometown ease the buildings here are wood and they age like old men cracking and shifting without crumbling splinter finally into the dusty grass i’ve come back talky and touchy but feel like a little fish flirting with the net of an abandoned timeline brings on a sickness that rises from your base holes up the spine and out through your sinuses there is no escape just a gradual ease with this giant blue neon flower, this blooming psychic circuit of memories that crowns you like maria i find myself in beautiful self-imposed exile i find myself a giant i find it hard to focus; then there’s that story about how the blind horse was the only one on whose back you could cross the treacherous mountain pass because she was trusting and couldn’t see what to be afraid of pass the tight rope over fire over the black mountain, over half fish men merrily prodding, these days i’m in spain and satisfied in brief rapid cycles and my lips are the feet of a tree frog and the majority of conversations i have with strangers mention my americanness CAN’T SPELL WOMEN WITHOUT OMEN on july 29th i heard lorena scream in the garden UN BUHO! a dejected baby owl had flown into our walls we put him on the terrace to await the owl rescue but that night he flew into the koi pond and drowned mohamed ali said he loves how people want what they can’t have. is bored of knowing people better than they know themselves. is bored of traveling women, open to thrills. is bored of fucking newlywed women in the ass with their husbands in he next room. texts me two words every six months, “miss you” and i don’t know what he means by that alexius throws a pizza at me in the street because i’m blackout drunk again and he’s infatuated with someone else and doesn’t want to be around me but is too much of a coward to say so so he nudges me until i’m bitter and drunk drunk drunk and hungry for pizza… i often feel left lifting heavy things like endings, the endings are mine , and now i’m panic attacking, ugly crying in sol which is like, the times square of madrid a girl asks me if i’m okay and i say, it’s just a man. a man crouches with intense attention and concern his name is othmane and he has moroccan doe eyes, ossama’s eyes, mohamed ali’s eyes, he walks me home, speaking broken english, points at his eyes whenever i start to weep again, i tell him no sex, tell him i knew loving this guy was dumb from the start, and i did, i did, i promise i did. othmane tells me to be patient, starts repeating, rakk, takk, making the gesture of throwing and pulling he says, you throw out the net, rakk, you wait, and it will always bring something back to you, takk. remember that you have already thrown the net. rakk, takk, rakk, takk. i woke up one morning with my left eye red and puffy, a distortion in the lens never left after that though it’s possible it was already slightly there and i hadn’t been paying attention i went to the eye doctor who had me balance tiny strips of paper on my lower inner eyelids, then based on the papers’ saturation told me my eyes were so dry, están secissimos i feel docile and compliant and humming with asmr when i’m in the doctor’s office and not having a panic attack. i’ll put off going to the doctor forever, i mean i’ll walk on a broken ankle for five months,,,,,,,,,,, nobody will understand it not even i will understand it i woke up one morning and my country had been pulled out from under me i woke up one morning and my country had been handed over i walk past streets named after dictator’s generals i walk past walls that have crumbled for centuries MOONSAULT my trouble is i can see out of both of my eyes at the same time. i can see all the way around the whole tree branch, it wraps and it doesn’t and there’s not much i can do about it i forgot how to be and not even a good fuck or a good feast could bring me back from the edge where the city sits so small and perfect, fully formed in a cloud of silty haze, i can see all the way around the whole world how it’s fig pink and dirty how it’s gray and dirty how it’s dry and dirty i’m overcome with the need to dive between unknowable edges when one color becomes the next between the pollution haze and the sky between the sea haze and the sky between the me and the sky unsure what makes me deign to trust one poison over another my body itself is a margin among margins foldable, stiffening one long dissolve from scene to scene i don’t scream anymore, i just see and dissolve TRYIN TO GET UP THAT GREAT BIG HILL OF HOPE sometimes i sleep poorly but in great black gaps eyes thudding open in the dawn light, waking like a stone drops through water it has been a hypersaturated year this is perhaps the most beautiful time of my life i love my home and friends, the end of summer swims swiftly in great golden honey droplets. feel disconnected like time and reality wheels are spinning out of sync, subtitle track is off i’m not afraid to say anything, sprawl my branches over the garden walls figs, sweet and pink and reptilian, fall into the pond in nebraska my old dog grows new lumps   i’ve learned to see liars a kilometer away but not exactly how to avoid them i love the feeling of standing up and almost blacking out alone, clutching the wall, reality becoming 2D black and white squares for a minute and me grinning for the thrill of it. breathing deep into the blackness. do other people not live as projections of themselves in the imagined feelings of others? i surprise myself at how rarely i get tired of compensating for the gracelessness of men. my home/garden/sanctuary protects me a moth tastes my fingers sun illuminates a globe of champagne-colored sap birds peck at the plums and figs the pretty fish swim and the waterfall muffles the sounds of the bus down the street i wanna be held  called peque, little chicken, honey bun, reminisce i speak cryptically; i tip-toe around, i’ll fuck your husband to save your marriage i’ll fuck anybody with a garden full of ripe tomatoes. i want every day to be like those videos of color blind people who see purple for the first time. i like to get high and ride my bike like a normal 30 year old woman

LISTEN TO TLR’S LATEST PODCAST:
By Paul Meekin
If you’re a nerd of a certain age, you’ve pirated a game. Be it using an SNES or Sega Genesis Emulator to play classics you couldn’t afford as a kid, downloading all of the Leisure Suit Larry Games to see some pixelated wabos, or, in my case, trying most everything you could get your grubby little hands on.
One of these games was “Tom Landry: Strategy Football.”
Released in 1993 for the PC – it was not what you’d think of a typical football game. You did not control the Quarterback. You did not hit a button to sling passes. Instead you were essentially Tom Landry. Calling plays, using a 4-3 Defense against a pro-set. Switching to the dime or the nickel based on a four-or-five wide receiver set, blitzing, dropping LBs into coverage, line shifts, and other football nerd stuff.
It was, in a word, intense. In another word, it was educational. This was a foundational game. Teaching the nuances of football in a way games like “Madden Football,” or even a standard ESPN broadcast, glaze over.
I’m unsure how successful the release was. Probably not very as it never got a sequel. It was not ‘accessible’. It was a Football Encyclopedia when most of the fans were hooked on phonics.
I downloaded it from the legendary Abandonware site Home Of The Underdogs, played it, loved it, and moved on.
Until a curious day, more than a decade later. Pro Strategy Football on the iOS app store caught my fancy. I downloaded it. It felt…dated and in a way, needlessly complicated – but I loved it. I loved it because it was the best football game on the platform, because it *was* a complicated football game on a platform synonymous with streamlining, and because it reminded me of Tom Landry Strategy Football.
Because I’m a nerd and think I know everything, I e-mailed feedback to the developer – what I loved, what the game could use, and how it reminded me of “Tom Landry: Football.” Turns out Pro Strategy Football was by the same guy. Mr. Batts.
What a small world. We hit it off and became Facebook friends, but it turned out he was possibly the worst thing imaginable to liberal ole me: a conservative.
A…religious conservative. Ick.
But in between religious posts, anti-Barack Obama memes, and Fox News stories – there was a human being. A man who took evening walks, a man obsessed (and I mean obsessed) with grilling.
A guy who made a game that supercharged my love of Football and made me ‘that’ guy who talked about the zen of a team and formations and who told my friends to watch the offensive line, not the quarterback, if you want to know how a given play is going to go.
Clearly this person couldn’t be all bad. As the 2016 election raged on, occasionally one of those evil Fox News stories would make a point. Occasionally something religious touched me in an soulful way.
Thanks in part to insane partisan politics, a raging ‘left’ and a raging ‘right’ I found myself desperate to understand as much as possible, and this dude’s Facebook wall was my cipher.
Of course he didn’t speak or all conservatives, but he was my barometer for what the ‘average’ well meaning conservative thought and believed and shared and cared about.
Mostly grilling… but also politics. A woman’s right to choose, and about his personal, negative, experience with healthcare premiums in the wake of Obamacare.
Then Donald Trump won. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton said reach across the aisle; try to understand ‘how this happened’. The left. My left. My side. My tolerant ideology ignored that advice wholesale. Instead they resorted to the same tactics and vitriol and anger they accused ‘the right’ of.
Now, all of a sudden, Mr. Batts wasn’t a ‘not that bad guy’. He was a good guy. A good guy who saw his world changing rapidly without particularly caring about him or his concerns because he was white and in Texas.
In fact, you could argue a lot of people on ‘the left’ would read “White Texan” and immediately assume enemy.
I’m glad I didn’t.
Games have an overwhelming ability to educate and entertain and connect us. Everyone plays games – it’s a community and niche unto itself. Liberals, Conservatives, Libertarians, Women, Men, Transgendered people are all a part of it and care so passionately about it because Mainstream Media got it so wrong for so long and still does.
The Sports Gaming community is even more galvanized because *gaming* media routinely disregards the genre because they’re not ‘core’ titles.
But somehow, a silly little football game where you don’t even technically play football, put me on a path to a cultural enlightenment of sorts. The notion we’re all people and we’re all connected and if we let petty things like labels separate us or insulate us, we’re doomed.
I’m not religious, but Christ that’s a hell of a thing to be coincidence alone.
(Curious note: The first article I wrote for this website was about Abortion – an article the 34th most popular Libertarian website refused to run. It was the lefts and rights of the argument, the confusion and frustration regarding the laws surrounding it, and the nuclear radiation associated with anyone trying to make any sort of nuanced point on the subject.)
Of everyone to offer feedback, pro-lifer Mr. Batts said I made some very good points. Keep in mind the article advocated a pro-choice mentality.
Well shit. I might just move to Texas. It could possibly be the most tolerant place on earth.
EDITOR’s NOTE: The views expressed are those of the author, they are not representative of The Libertarian Republic or its sponsors.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t add a postscript here – Abandonware is important. Preserving old games and allowing folks, especially poor folks, the ability to play them – for free – is so foundational to kids curious about computing, engineering, electronic history, and fun – that I suggest everyone go play an old game immediately.
I am of the mind if we ever wanted to reform IP Patent Law, that there should be some sort of caveat for those who download and play old games for obsolete systems on their new hardware. Maybe give it a 13 year half-life, or something like that – Commercial rights remain with the developer, but a commons license exists after a certain number of years. Who knows.
In fact, Archive.Org is swimming in classics. Sega Genesis. Arcade. PC-DOS. Windows. You can play them all there, for free, in your web browser. It is a video-gaming museum – and publicly funded by people like you. No tax payers.
Additionally the most recent version of Pro Strategy Football is available now
