"Nice Granny bag, Little Jack"
Tumblr media
It's a small moment but I love the scene where Kitty insults Jack Horner's bag because even in a serious and worrying moment, Puss still found her comment funny and even smiled a bit.

Ranking Animated Horse Designs Take 3
This time I really am back by popular demand because the other two posts have been getting a steady trickle of notes for over a year now.
(If you're looking for stuff like Disney and Dreamworks there are two other posts. Here we've got mostly random cartoons and also the Pokemon horses)
Tumblr media
Starlite (Rainbow Brite) 6/10 Little weird that he seems to be drawn in a style that's like 3x more realistic than any other character in this show but hey sometimes you just ascend to a higher plane of existence. (2014 Reboot Starlite gets a 3/10. I do not trust him.)
Tumblr media
Skydancer (Rainbow Brite) 7/10 I bumped Starlite down a point because he wants what Skydancer has. Skydancer doesn't need rainbows to fly. Skydancer has a lightning bolt. Skydancer has the Drama. (The one wiki page said he's a Shire or a Clydesdale and um I don't think so. Maybe a Friesian.)
Tumblr media
On-yx (Rainbow Brite) This is a rocket powered balloon animal. 2/10
Tumblr media
Sunriser (Rainbow Brite) 5/10 Eh. I like her hair though.
Tumblr media
Swift Wind (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power/ She-Ra Princess of Power)
Right (older version) 8/10 I don't understand the wing physics going on here. Also not sure if the horn is part of the mask or just attached to the mask. Diggin the bib though. Also love that he's a ginger.
Left (new version) 4/10 If the older version wasn't there this would score higher because just as a character design I don't think it's bad but if these are supposed to be the same character he seems so cutesy and I do not vibe with it. I don't know either show. So maybe that works. But it feels wrong.
Tumblr media
Amalthea (The Last Unicorn) 9/10 They gave the unicorn the split deer hooves, and the lions tail and that is automatic points from me. Bummed they didn't go all out and give us the goat's beard. Rude. Any distance shot, I love. Close-ups of the face creep me out with the giant doll eyes and tiny nose.
(Pokemon and more below)
Tumblr media
Honey Pie Pony (Strawberry Shortcake) 8/10 Adorable. Fantastically chunky design. The others from this... show? book? brand? are like 6s or 5s depending. But Honey Pie has the It factor. (The It Factor here apparently being that recurring pattern of only the main character's horse being able to talk?? This is the third. Swift Wind, Starlite and Honey Pie have dark secrets about how they come by this knowledge).
Tumblr media
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic "ponies" Just as characters they're cute in a "trying so hard to be cute that they almost miss the mark entirely" way. But this is about how they are as HORSE designs. And these are magical gremlins not horses. 1/10 (WHAT is happening on the far right of this set. I do not approve. Zebra is fine though).
Tumblr media
My Little Pony: A New Generation Like if the MLP: FM ponies and the Trolls characters somehow had children. Somehow the main character of Bee Movie was also involved. The one on the left makes TikTok thirst traps. -2/10
Tumblr media
My Little Pony Tales 3/10 I can almost tell they're meant to be horses. Plus that one has a tattoo of a comb. So. Full extra point for the comb tattoo.
Bratz Horses I can't tell if there's an official video game or cartoon design for these but in ANY given version I found the conclusion is the same: if you look into the gigantic distended eye you will be put under the horse's curse. 1/10
Tumblr media
Boxer (Animal Farm) 4/10 All horses are equal but some are more equal than others, but Boxer is not one of them because his mouth is not okay.
Tumblr media
Marvin (Marvin the Tap Dancing Horse) 5/10 I mean. Dude's got spats. Come on.
Tumblr media
Ponyta (Pokemon) 3/5 The armpit and middle thigh flames were a choice.
Tumblr media
Rapidash (Pokemon) 8/10 Look at his face. The angst. He has seen things.
Tumblr media
Mudsdale (Pokemon) 8/10 The classic mohawk, dreadlocks and legwarmers trifecta. Love it. Would love to hug him.
Tumblr media
Galarian Ponyta 3/10 It's giving sheep, and it's giving dog. Very little horse.
Tumblr media
Galarian Rapidash (Pokemon) 4/10 He's angry because his hair is too long and he can't walk and also he has not eaten enough somebody feed this horse.
Tumblr media
Origin Palkia (Pokemon) 6/10 A built-in hoola-hoop AND thigh high Boots?! what fashion.
Tumblr media
Keldeo (Pokemon) 1/10 Clown goat.
Tumblr media
Spectrier (Pokemon) 10/10 Beautiful goth girl horse floating around like a Victorian ghost who's too modest to show her ankles.
Tumblr media
Mudbray (Pokemon) 5/10 He has passed through the depths of existential dread and returned world-weary but unshakeable and with a snazzy bowl cut.
Tumblr media
Glastrier (Pokemon)
20/10 ICE HORSE ICE HORSE ICE HORSE. I love him so much. He's punk rock
Tumblr media
The Fat Horse (Looney Tunes) 10/10 Queen.

Bestieeeeee 😻,
What is your worst IE headcannons?
I'll tell mine back 💅💅💅
I may be too out-of-touch from the fandom to know what people would consider bad and worst but I do have some that others may have an issue with! AND I WAS JUST ABOUT TO ASK YOU ABOUT HEADCANONS TOO, BUT YOU GOT ME FIRST! AND I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW YOURS VERY MUCH!! (although I haven't watched most of ares and orion so i may not understand some for now, I would love to hear them still!!)
This ended up a long post, I'm making this cut...
I'll start with a tame one (may also be really boring), but this one needs my other hcs for anyone to understand the actual one I want to share. Here's a "brief" list of the others (happened between og series and inago):
Gouenji has unparallel knowledge of ALL Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, and Ghibli movies and will defend the female characters with his life. (This is why I thought he probably knows MLP as I said on the last ask)
He's not a fan of social media and does not use anything outside of inalink and private messaging. Not bcs he's cool, he just doesn't understand them. Much like in honosuto with the laptop, initially with inatube, and him always forgetting his useless phone.
Yuuka convinced him to make an inatter (twitter) and inagram account bcs she does not want anyone to steal the @ and that she also wants to be able to tag him on her posts (and of his teammates/friends) so they can keep the memories. He saves all the pictures he gets tagged in and sometimes prints them out to keep in an album he designed (he's very good w crafts). I still can't believe honosuto came up with those social media names (except for inagram)
He only cared about the bare minimum use of social media so he only ever retweets in inatter (never made his own tweet ever; but he does reply on some that addresses him) and only posts his creations on inagram with no caption or a few words about what he made (made takoyaki, felted a bunny, crocheted a penguin, made cupcakes, etc.).
He only has three kinds of inatter rts: about soccer, about making art, and tweets of his friends and family. Yuuka made his bio in both of them. He also became good at taking pictures of his creations thanks to Yuuka.
However, he is mildly updated with internet language bcs that's all he hears from his sister and her friends and from his own friends in the group chat that he only talks in when he's mentioned. He assimilated most of the phrases they use in chats.
Having said all this, he almost has no social media presence. You're lucky to see his page updated after two weeks. He doesn't reply with strangers either unless it's a kid who loves or interested in soccer.
He also doesn't share much in interviews. Very bare minimum of answering questions and always answers in short sentences and just poses for the camera shortly before he bounces. His favorite answer to questions is "oh that's private" not bcs it's private but bcs he doesn't want to talk that long unless youre asking him about his opinion on human rights-- something that his agent and/or soccer club prevented the press from ever asking him again (an hc drop another time). But anyway, he always had strong opinions and doesnt hold back in expressing them (og series and inago) and that's trouble for the club sponsors so they make a lot of effort on stopping anybody from having the opportunity of asking him anything outside of his personal and athlete life.
And the last context here is that Gouenji is autistic, but we already know that.
Okay so now time for the actual bad HC I want to share... which is how Gouenji came out as bisexual to the public
This started with an inatter thread of a person criticizing Anna (Frozen) for her actions in the first movie that reached Gouenji's timeline. Gouenji answers with 7 tweets worth of respectful paragraph of why Anna shouldn't be criticized bcs of how she was brought up, bcs of her isolation, and bcs of her grief, etc. So, everybody lost their mind, etc etc. AND NOW, at the midst of all this, a soccer fan asked him the question below that he answered without thinking much about:
Tumblr media
This blew up and his notifications gets flooded with questions about his sexuality and questionable taste that he really didn't mind answering if it wasn't blowing up his phone.
He was out with everyone in his circle that he forgot the world didn't know he's bi. So, he fixed that by tweeting "yes, im bisexual" on his timeline. He logs out and then decided to wait a few months before logging in again.
This didn't sound as fun as I amped it up to be but I think it's a terribly bland HC that I find kind of funny
BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT ASK!! I VERY MUCH WANT TO HEAR YOURS!!!

My Thoughts on KFP 4
WARNING: LOTS OF KFP 4 SPOILERS
and made a few edits
Like I said in my last post, it was okay, but it wasn’t amazing. Hell, when Dreamworks first announced there was gonna be a fourth kfp movie, my first thoughts were, “We really don’t need a fourth kfp movie. They ended Po’s story with the third one perfectly!” And boy did this movie kinda prove me right…
Don’t get me wrong, I liked the new characters and the new villain!! And my GOD AM I FALLING IN LOVE WITH ZHEN DUDE SHE IS SO FUCKING PRETTY 😭❤️😭❤️😭
AND PO’S TWO GAY DADS??? ABSOLUTELY PERFECT 😩👍😩👍😩
AND MOTHER FUCKING TAI LUNG RETURNING AFTER 13 YEARS???? I WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE BIG KITTY TITS AGAIN JDHSJSJSKSJSJS
and y’all….the way I held in my scream when the Furious Five appeared at the ending 😭😭😭😭
There were some amazing pros to this movie!! But for the cons…
There were quite a few shots and dialogues that didn’t need to be in some scenes...like there was the part where Po had to choose the next Dragon Warrior, and he just pointed at…himself??? Like da fuk??? And right at the end where Shifu was being bothered by Po’s…like inner thoughts or something??? Like what was the point that???
And I kinda wish Po’s battle against the stingray lasted a bit longer. Some parts just went by a bit too quickly for me. And there was just a lot of second hand embarrassment scenes bro I was so weirded out 😭😭😭
I know this is just a kids movie, but these are just my opinions lmao
I had quite a few reasons for being disappointed with this film. My number one being about Tai Lung. Ngl I LOVED that he returned and had his redemption arc!! But I wished there were more scenes of him…and I was sad that he didn’t mention a THING about Shifu.
I know part of the movie was about Po finding a new Dragon Warrior although he shouldn’t be so soon because he’s still pretty young, but the one thing I would change in this film is to make Tai Lung the new Dragon Warrior. That way he can come back to the village and reunite with his father figure! And make him work on his redemption arc more!!
Overall, the movie was okay, I was pretty disappointed, and I’m kind of terrified about how kfp 5 will turn out (yeah it’s announced there will now be a kfp 5)…
6.5/10 I’m adding 6 instead of 5 because of my pretty gurl Zhen teehee

Okay, I think I covered everything else that’s on my mind about this movie. Which just leaves....
Well. Puss, the themes and Death are so closely tied together that I can’t really talk about any one of them without also getting into the others, so...
Tumblr media
*Breathe in*
SO.
Death.
“I don’t mean metaphorically, poetically, spiritually or theoretically. Straight-up.”
It–and he–are a constant presence throughout the movie, and the film isn’t shy about it. Horner’s men are swatted down like flies without even the dignity of having individual names assigned to them. The first five minutes are dedicated to showing us who Puss in Boots, the legend, is and his characteristically cavalier swashbuckling attitude toward everything
even in those five minutes, it’s been brought to my attention that Death, the character, is lurking in the crowd, watching and waiting for Puss’ eighth life to end, which it does at the end of the film’s first action sequence. (gorgeous sequence, natch)
knowing Dreamworks, I’m sure they found even more ways than that to weave death into the visuals, but the really genius thing is something I realized just in the midst of typing up a previous post
Papa Bear keeps suggesting that their family head home to hibernate, which fits in with his obvious desire to nap, yes, but it also implies the movie is set in autumn
as in the season before winter, when things freeze and die
Puss in Boots is on his last life, literally the last of stretch of the AUTUMN of his mortal time on earth
AASDFSDFGDSDF dreamworks you beautiful brilliant MMMM
the otherworldly whistling that precedes Death’s soundtrack and appearance on screen is eerie and haunting and piercing, suits the character of death so well because even as it sticks with you it’s still startling and chilling each time you hear it
And of course I’m sure many youtuber’s have already said it, Death is a great villain because he’s not particularly a villain, but the personified phenomenon we all must face at some point made real (again, “Straight up”) who’s doing his job. the primary trait that makes him a character instead of some mystery man metaphor is that he loathes Puss for his complacency towards life
ironically, Death actually treasures life more than anyone; if he didn’t, he wouldn’t have spent the film hunting Puss to prematurely end his last life, nor would he have let Puss go at the end
and that brings us to the transformation Puss goes through from Legend to Man. er, Cat.
everything that he learns throughout the film, all the growth he undergoes ties back to who he is when he first meets Death and when he meets Death at the end of the movie and it’s all about letting go. letting go of the delusion that he’ll be fine no matter what danger he throws himself into, of the legend he’s created for himself about himself
The task is the same both times; Puss has to confront Death. Nothing about that fact actually changes, he still has to do it alone at the end of the film, he still can’t definitively defeat Death
but Puss himself changes; he lets go of his image of being a fearless hero, accepts that he’s afraid of Death, he lets go of the hope that he can outrun death through using the fallen star’s wish, he lets go of prioritizing all the moments of winning glory over his past lives and learns to cherish those more mundane and innocuous moments he’s had in this life.
Puss sheds the Legend he once was to be the Cat behind the legend. and the awesome part is that he doesn’t lose out on anything in doing so; the cat he is at the end of the film isn’t weaker than the cat he was at the start, nor is his life less fulfilling. Life isn’t more colorful than it was before, and he doesn’t give up swashbuckling either; he just learns to cherish and fight for the life he’s got
In the end, neither he nor any of the cast really need the wish, and that’s the great moral of the film; the things you need in life, the things you really want, you don’t need magic for. So long as you have your priorities straight, they can be found
i think that’s all from me, then. good night

TW: Death, Queerbaiting, and Voltron
Tumblr media
Like I'm sorry y'all I'm just as hyped for the new content as much as anyone but the second I heard Lauren Montgomery was the one directing the first animated movie my heart sank to my god damned stomach.
For those of you who don't know, Lauren Montgomery was one of the co-directors for Voltron: Legendary Defender with fellow LoK creative director Joaquim Dos Santos. For those of you who very fortunately were not on this god forsaken hellsite between the years of 2016-2018 VLD had this website by the god damned throat. From seasons 1 through debatably 6 it was a genuinely good, if weirdly paced show. Then from Season 7-8 the show went down the shitter. FAST.
To make a long story very short that can be easily explained much better than I ever could by a brilliant YouTube miniseries by The Sin Squad. Lauren Montgomery and Joaquim Dos Santos both had an original script that involved killing off one of the characters, but were forced by their production company DreamWorks to keep said character (It's Shiro.) Alive because DreamWorks correctly predicted that Shiro would become the favorite character of the show.
How did Lauren Montgomery and Joaquim Dos Santos react to this news that they had to re-write a heavy portion of the show just to keep Shiro alive? Well they made it work for Season 3-6 with minor jabs towards DreamWorks here and there. Yet the second they could get Shiro introduced fully back into the team on Season 7 onwards they do a litany of things ranging from pretty good to exceptionally bad.
Announce that Shiro actually died but we're gonna fudge with reality and our own universe to bring him back (cool I guess)
Instead of expanding upon Shiro's role as a leader and a character just designate him as a talking head and a wallflower until they get back to earth (Bad)
Upon getting back to earth, the show shoves a half-baked romantic subplot for Shiro involving another man whom we know Jack and Shit about only to have him be on screen for all of like 4 minutes, 3 of them he's fighting with Shiro, and the last 1 minute he's dying. Perpetuating the bury your gays trope yet again. (very derogatory and bad)
Take a character who literally could have been the champion of diversity in an animated show (A gay, physically disabled Japanese man suffering from PTSD) and turn him into a wallflower for what could have been a fantastic growth opportunity and just have him go through even more trauma all for shits and giggles. (Hatred)
LM and JDS both fully admitted that they did all of this and the reason for this being largely because of their resentment towards DreamWorks and they both regret how the show ended. (*Screams into the dark, cold, uncaring void*)
I do not mean this post to be an attack towards Lauren Montgomery. She has a family and loved ones who care about her, sh does not under any circumstances deserve harassment or threats. She is a professional writer who makes a whole lot more money than I do and is able to churn out a literal multi-million dollar franchise in less than 3 years. Even if said franchise crashed and burned in a way that is only comparable to the finale of HBO's Game of Thrones. She has the professional chops and I don't. I am not at all trying to say I could ever fix Voltron after the literal maelstrom of a shit storm it became with the fandom literally threatening to kill people over ships.
But I am never going to forgive her and Joaquim Dos Santos for what they did to Takashi Shirogane. Ever. And after hearing the announcement this morning that she's at the helm of this upcoming animated movie I cannot in good faith just sit by and let people not know what she has done. Yes you can call me a crazed Shiro Stan. You wouldn't be wrong. But Lauren Montgomery and Joaquim Dos Santos both tortured and maimed a disabled Japanese character and turned him gay only for the woke points and to create more pain. They never wanted to make Shiro gay in the first place because they never wanted Shiro to be alive at that point.
I am happy to see that the Team of Bryke is working very closely with Lauren Montgomery on this if only because they were they original creative directors, but if I were in their position being forced to give one of the highest positions to a well known and documented bad-faith actor, I'd keep her on as tight a leash as possible. I'm still going to watch the movie, but I am going to be hyper-vigilant about the fact that Lauren is the one at the helm. I want this movie to succeed just as much as anyone else, but like I said, I cannot in good faith just stand by and let it not be known what Lauren Montgomery has done and what she could be capable of doing again.

Lux Noctis: Moonshine
Yes I know moonshine is a type of alcohol but shhh
So everyone! Here comes the second youngest of the Lux Noctis! Next post will be about or beloved Nightlight because we can't have star kids without the one we all know and love!
Full disclaimer going forth from here, I took all the good stuff of the GoC lore and threw the rest away or completely made it up myself. In all technicality, the Lux Noctis are my OCs even though they're supposed to fill in the position of canon characters. That being said, ROTG and GoC do not belong to me as all of you should already know! All rights are with Dreamworks and William Joyce.
Tumblr media
Meet Moonshine, an orange dwarf star! The second youngest and honestly the most developed, story wise, of the Lux Noctis at the moment of writing this.
Moonshine's story starts out completely off the rail from all the others. He was created much like his siblings, however, he was not greeted with the fanfare that the others have and that is because of the Tsar at the time.
Now a little lore on that, the last heir of the Lunanoff, Moonlight's charge is a woman named Tsarina Rose. Like all the Lunanoffs, she is kind and compassionate and overall just very much beloved, but she could not find her one true love and was instead married to a man named Frederick who outwardly is a good man.
I could go on all day about the lore I have for there space royals but thts not what we're here about. All you need to know is that Rose married a man named Frederick for political reasons and it turned out that this man is not a good man at all. That being said, back to Moonshine!
Moonshine was of course welcomed by the lunanoff kingdom, except for Frederick. Right off the bat, Moonshine was expected to follow rules that would appease Frederick and hinder his duties. Under the oppressive rule of Frederick, its safe to say Moonshine did not lead a good life at the Lunanoff Palace even with Rose doing all she can to help him out.
But enough of the depressing stuff! Let's get on to something that should cheer us up! Moonshine, despite the hardships, still managed to help raise and protect the next young prince, Prince Aaron who will later become Tsar Lunar XI and MiM's father. Moonshine was also the one to learn how to train mice and start up the moon motif that the Lunanoffs are so infamous for.
Moonshine was also the first Lux Noctis to have been publically referred to as the young Lunanoff's sibling, although with quite a bit of reluctance. Moonshine also has the tendency to get distracted by small objects, often pocketing and collecting them. This is especially true with pretty, sparkly objects like small gems and smooth pebbles. Moonshine also likes to read, history is his favourite subject to read about.
Well that's all I'm going to leave you guys with for now, and again, if you have any questions don't be afraid to pop into my ask box to ask those questions! :D
Voidlight -> Sunburst -> Starshine -> Starlight -> Starbeam -> Moonlight -> Moonshine -> Nightlight

Polytheism Asks
What’s your least favorite myth? I don't really look at it that way. I'm certainly not fond of the ones involving consent violations.
What’s your favorite myth? Again, I don't really look at it that way. I suppose I like the ones that are just plain weird.
What pantheon(s) do you worship? I'm effectively an omnitheist. Depending on how one itemizes pantheons, I've had at least brief contact with more than I'd like to try to count. But the pantheons I relate to consistently enough to have permanent marks on my body for are: Vanir, Aesir, Orixa, Loa, Irish, Welsh, Hellenic, Kemetic, and an infinity symbol for the Whole That Is Divine. I'm also an animist.
Who is your least favorite ancient poet/philosopher/old guy who said “smart” things? Probably Thomas Aquinas. Not that he had much to say about my faith, really. But I had to read some of his work in my Religious Studies and Philosophy classes in university and am definitely not a fan.
What’s your favorite snack to share with the gods? (Curtesy of @luminarycanary) Honey is sacred to nearly all of them. I collect varietals.
Do you pray daily? If so, do you have a prayer schedule? I don't have a schedule. I have everyday prayers, but I say them as the impulse arises, not literally every day. They go well before a meal, and before undertaking ritual work. But they're specifically centered on the Vanir, who are Family/Home to me, so I have other set prayers/songs for other purposes, as well as whatever extemporaneous expression arises.
Do you do any rituals or celebrate any holidays/festivals? Yes. Many. MANY. I should make this its own post.
How often do you make offerings, and what is your most common offering to give? The most common offerings are a candle, a libation, or a song. Candles happen several times a week these days, if only for the Community Well Being Altar. Libations are less common. They used to be several times a month, but the reasons for that have fallen away over the last few years. Still, at least monthly. Songs are connected to specific prompts, which have also fallen away over the last couple years. Those, too, are closer to monthly right now.
How many altars do you currently have up, if any at all? Uhhhhhh *counts* 8-12, depending on how you count altars, I think? Some people distinguish between altars and shrines, at which point I'd have to say most of those are shrines. If I itemize the individual deities, I have easily dozens, but they’re mostly clumped together by pantheon or domain. I have one, maybe two working altars going most of the time lately.
Have you ever made a travel altar? In the sense of making a specific small portable altar/shrine thingy, no. In the sense of packing up a small box of whatever it seems like I might need for travel, many times. I’m not opposed - it sounds like a fun craft project. But what I need with me varies a little too much, beyond what I carry in my purse all the time anyway.
What deity do you think your taste in music best represents, regardless of who you worship? Probably Brighid. With a side of Ghede.
What has been your favorite interaction with a deity so far? I have absolutely no idea how to answer this.
What is your favorite devotional act? Singing!
Would you say there’s a certain “type” of deity you follow? Or are you more broad, without rhyme or reason? Most of the gods I work with at all frequently are on the Life/Death axis, or are Tricksters. But I will work with almost any deity who drops by, if there's a reason for it. Magic is also a pretty common domain around here.
Have you ever worked with a deity? As opposed to what? Well, regardless, by just about every definition that might have been meant by this, yes. Working with deities is pretty well my job. I'm ordained Vanatru clergy, a spirit worker, dreamworker, oracle, and witch.
Have you ever been to a religious site (for your deities)? Several. It seems like every time I get to go on vacation, the Powers find a way to turn it into a pilgrimage. Gamla Uppsala in particular was wonderful.
Do you have any UPGs? Quite a few. Mostly about the Vanir.
What is your favorite way to communicate with the gods? Possession trance is extremely helpful, but there's a lot of places to introduce error into the process, and it can be damaging to handle it poorly. Still, ecstatic trance states in general are a major focus of my practice, when possible.
Do you just worship deities, or do you worship heroes, spirits, etc. as well? My practices include animism and ancestor reverence. I tend to focus less on "heroes", and more on personal connections, and general interconnectedness.
What’s something new you want to try in your worship? Herbalism. Fragrance blending. The overlap between my list of craft interests and my list of worship interests is very high.
What would your ideal practice look like? I wish I knew! The last few years have changed a lot, and I'm frankly at a bit of a loss now. It's been exhausting. I can't keep up what I had to build during lockdown, and the extended community practices that supported me before don't work anymore. Figuring out what I and we need to do henceforth is a big, big task on my plate right now. More than I can really address, yet.
Have you ever received a dream/a big sign from a deity? I'm a dreamworker, so my sense of scale for this is probably skewed. But yes, several times.
Are there any new deities you want to contact? I already have more deities on my list than I know what to do with. I won't refuse newcomers, but I'm not seeking them out.
How do you define devotion vs worship? “Worship” is the expression of love for divinity. Forms of worship correspond to "love languages": praise, offerings, services, etc. “Devotion” is a deeply personal relationship with a specific entity. They’re different points on a continuum. Roughly the emotional difference between enjoying a party to honor a member of your community you think well of but don’t necessarily hang out with much personally, vs. paying personal attention to your best friend, lover, sibling, etc. Either way, the point is the relationship.
What is your favorite symbol of your deity(ies)? I am rather fond of the Vanatru Boar symbol.

Concept Art Cover of My Story (Number 1?)
Tumblr media
Disneyfriend made this for me as a cover, but I can tell it will be more than just one for the story.
Connor Davidson, if you here (might be in DeviantArt if everyone let them know that), your Drake Lupus as well as your other oc characters will be part of my story as I’m a fan of your finest work.
@aggimaginary, if you may not know, that your character Mr Hornet will be inspired to my own character as well.
I thought I would keep it as a secret but Disneyfriend suggested that you deserve to know and I promise that I’ll credit you both.
Here’s the link of his work

Two weeks after one year in prison, Mr Wolf and his friends are trying to be best behaviour for the citizen who are no longer afraid of them anymore while they couldn’t help but enjoy few adventures they adore.
But then one night, Mr Wolf had a nightmare of his past that involved with a black wolf that caused him to seek answers.
Together with Diane Foxington (known as the Crimson Paw) and the five teenager girls as well as more new friends along the way, the gang must unravel the truth of Mr Wolf’s past and why he had great connection of the black diamond that everyone thought it once had dark magic thousands years ago. But little did they know that a cold hearted villain that hunted the family legacy for decades… is not actually gone for good…

The Letter to Pierre Perifel
(To @tbgmoviecoverage from my friend)
🧡💛🧡💛🧡
Dear Mr Perifel,
First, I want to say I'm your biggest fan of your latest movie The Bad Guys. Also, I am really happy to know that you also worked as an animator on other projects such as the Kung Fu Panda franchise, Rise of Guardians and even Monsters vs. Alien (honestly I think those last are underrated gems).
Anyway I want to apologize for bothering you like this, but since the tumblr "tbgmoviecoverage" canceled "submit and post" section I had no choice, but to ask you directly. Like I said before I really love your movie The Bad Guys. It has everything, charming anthropomorphic characters, heists, action, heartfull moments, really funny jokes and animation style like from manga comic. It's really amazing. But I couldn't help but notice some similarities with another concept I am familiar with. I am not talking about Zootopia, or Robin Hood, heck even not about Lupin the Third or Ocean 11 or any Tarantino's movies. No. The truth is that those similarities don't come from movies. They actually come from the more or less well-known video game franchise Sly Cooper.
Believe it or not there are so many similarities you could even imagine. There are heists, some car chases, foxy love interest on the side of the law (who is pretty much combination of Diane Foxington (be a fox, sassy, flirty with protagonist, sometimes quick to judge but understanding) and Police Chief Misty (temper and similar police status as inspector of Interpol), hero's narrating to us, side character who pretends to be good guy help protagonists until the reveal of him(or her) be the main antagonist who betrays them and put them in jail, villain who pretends to be a samaritan, villain who tries to prove be the greatest thief (there are many villains with different goals so that's why I mentioning it thrice). Some cutscenes have really great comic style, except Thieves in Times, that one is more cartoon style, but it's still cool.
The only difference I think they have (aside from location) are instead of 5 typical stereotypes of villain animals like snake, tarantula, shark, wolf it's actually 3 animals like turtle, hippo and of course a raccoon (who is actually a stereotype for a masked thief). And they only steal from others, because and I quote: "There's no honor, no challenge, no fun in stealing from ordinary people."
Fun fact: 6 years ago there was supposed to be a movie adaptation, but due to Ratchet and Clank movie failure, it never happened. Then there was a tv series idea, but it also ended up forgotten and as for the next game, nothing since Thieves in Times came and that was 9 years ago and it's only a speculation now considering the 20th anniversary is coming this year. But after the success of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and of course The Bad Guys, being the two of the top movies at the box office in weeks, maybe there is still a chance.
So I am asking you only two questions:
1. Was Sly Cooper one of your inspirations for your movie The Bad Guys? (If you know about this game of course)
2. If there would be a chance of making a movie or tv series adaptation of Sly Cooper, would you take a chance working on it as a director? (Because honestly, there is no other who I would trust with this but you. Like I said, your movie is a great example of how to make a great animated heist movie.)
You don't have to answer that second question if you don't want to. But I still want to know the answer to the first one. Again I apologize for bothering like that, but I assure you this will be the only e-mail you get from me. I just only want to know this. And the rest of my knowledge of Bad Guys production I will learn from a blog on tumblr I just mentioned.
So for final words: Congratulations to your successful movie The Bad Guys and wishing you good luck for future projects like sequel or tv series. You, Aaron Blabey, Damon Ross, Rebecca Huntley, Etan Cohen, all actors, editors, musicians, choreographers, animators, everyone who worked on that movie, you all deserved it.
Sincerely, one of your fans.
P.S. So Long Suckers!🐺😎
🧡💛🧡💛🧡
Please share this to everyone who will get this letter to Mr Perifel himself to see it!

Bro idk who's around me rn idk who's really still here in this fandom idk who will even see this or read it and i dont wanna get into it (proceeds to get into it) but ive been on a grand fucking expedition to confront past trauma and shit lately which whoopeee what else is new for what basically amounts to a dreamworks adult obsessed with the grim reaper from shrek specifically i think there's probably an actual good reason this is my biggest blorbo yet (which by the way, my good bitches, is truly saying something) beyond "big scary wolf sexy" but like anyways its been a hot fuckin second of me just sort of existing in purgatory with basically only this character to keep me real company the whole time chipping away at fanfic and makin doodles here and there while trying to solve the great big fuckin mystery of hey pal is there any particular reason you spend most of your free time fantasizing at length about being loved and cared for by literal fuckin death but um i kinda sorta had been making peace lately with the very real possibility that probably the only reappearances from Death we'd see going forward in this franchise would kinda just be relegated to stuff like being a playable character in that dumbass mario kart game they made recently that they had the audacity to charge $50 for the version with him in it and I was immediately prepared to shell out the fuckin money regardless anyways tldr this is my longwinded way of saying bless harvey fuckin guillen for supposedly saying he wants to reprise his role as perrito in shrek 5 and specifically mentioning he wanted to know more about his backstory including the near death experience he had in the sock that he still wears like ok let me be clear im not getting my hopes up for shit im super excited about the idea of harvey and everybody reprising their roles for future shrek installments but i know shit be disappointing sometimes and it just be like that sometimes blablabla alright nothing is set in stone in this cursed ass timeline we're in bbbbbbut
✨️H O W E V E R✨️
I cannot help but think in some kind of weirdly jaded optimism that surely dreamworks would not fucking let the absolute furry cashcow that Death is go to fucking waste if they're bringing shrek back to the big screen it just seems incredibly fuckin stupid this big fuckin bastard gave everyone a boner when last wish dropped to the extent that i actually didnt know anything about last wish going in to see it in theaters the first time knew nothing of the plot who was in it whatever right THE ONLY FUCKIN KNOWLEDGE I HAD OF LAST WISH PRIOR TO SITTING DOWN AND WATCHING IT WAS "OH I GUESS THERE'S A WOLF CHARACTER AND EVERYONE WANTS TO FUCK HIM" LMFAO UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE FUCKIN YEAR RIGHT LOL anyways if dreamworks doesnt seize the opportunity to give him at least one more like visible cameo appearance anywhere in whatever they can squeeze out of the shrek franchise after it was dead (lmfao) for like years (the puss in boots show is little known to anyone sadly and also it seems vaguely noncanonical if that makes sense stuff gets said on the regular in that show that just seems too batshit even for shrek standards) I'll genuinely like die of shock the entertainment industry is chock full of companies just like dreamworks always achin to get their hands on another iconic character they can squeeze money out of ad infinitum and like i dont want that to happen with Death I dont but also... please just let him show up at least one more time dreamworks throw this bitch a bone im begging you you will make so much money i promise u the thirsty tumblr fans are no joke we'll bankroll your ass to the moon and back
I feel it would be remiss of me not to offer some form of content after all this impassioned war and peace length solilioquy about the scu (shrek cinematic universe) so here's an old WIP from forever ago im like 90% i havent posted here (if i have oh fuckin well tbh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) its a lil scene from chapter 2 of my death fic where he gets caught redhanded picking flowers for his crush because he's a dork ass loser and wants to impress her without coming on too strong lmao like bro she's so into you just go for it

I want to hear more horror stories about your cartoon cringe friend. He sounds like someone you’d hate to be around, but who’s also fascinating to observe
I had a childhood friend, let's call him Rich, who thought the real world operated on cartoon logic. I'll make a full post later (it's long and needs a lot of context), but here's one of the more egregious examples.
Do you remember that Disney logo with Steamboat Willie? This one
youtube
Notice how he's whistling and spinning the ship wheel back and forth super fast. And do you know how in cartoons whenever someone is driving they never leave the wheel steady, they always mime as if they're swerving back and forth?
Remember this. It's important to the story.
Whenever Rich's mom would pick me up to take me somewhere, I had to sit in the back of their SUV all by myself while they both sat up front. The only exception was on really long trips when he wanted to watch a movie (the flip-down DVD player could only be seen from the back, and of course he always got to choose the movie, always Pixar or Dreamworks, but that's not relevant). His mom was super flighty, a total airhead, the sort of negligent wine mom you see in TV shows which just reinforced his belief that fiction was reality. She would let a baby play with a fork next to a power outlet and think nothing of it. On more than one occasion when I slept over at his house, she would make dinner for the family and tell me to sit in the living room and watch TV until they were done.
She also loved to text while driving.
One day we're driving along, me in the back, Rich and his mom up front, and she receives a text. Usually she would answer one-handed, glancing back and forth between the road and her phone, but this was 2011 or 2012, around the time Rich was starting to learn how to drive. She picks up her phone, and tells him to take the wheel.
Can you guess what happened next?
Rich leans over from the passenger seat, takes the steering wheel in both hands, and starts VIOLENTLY JERKING IT BACK AND FORTH, whistling like Steamboat Willie!
I'm in the backseat, clinging on for dear life as if that would protect me, but without missing a beat his mom dropped her phone onto her lap and took the wheel back. She rights our course, and then snickers, telling him "maybe don't do that again." She didn't get angry, she didn't yell at him, she didn't tell him what he did was wrong or dangerous or irresponsible, she just laughed and said not to do it again. That's just what he thought driving was supposed to be like. He thought that you jerked the wheel back and forth because that's how it looks in cartoons. He thought it was totally normal, and his mom reinforced that by all but telling him it was funny.
That was when I realized this friendship was not worth clinging onto.
Rich and I limped along until 2013-ish when we finally stopped hanging out, and one of the last times I ever saw him was on my 17th birthday in 2014 because my mom thought it would be nice for me to spend some time with him before I went off to college (I graduated a year early), but that's a story for another time.

What Universal should do with animation - My thoughts
Nobody believed me when I developed a huge hatred towards Warner Bros. since I was actually born in the 90's. But now, seeing they were devoured up by Discovery by cancelling every single show to date and delisting them all from HBO Max as a result of the merger Warner Bros. Discovery goes to show that my hatred towards the former was a lot improved over the years. And you know what? It was fun. And hilarious.
However, considering their competitor Universal Pictures already won the animation market last year with big hits like the Bad Guys, the Rise of Gru and the Last Wish, this begs a very important question: what can Universal do within the animation industry?
Since we're now in 2023, I went ahead and shared my five reasons:
Take their division Universal Animation Studios too seriously - Since 1990 / 1991, Universal Animation Studios (or Universal Cartoon Studios) was established to create animated shows based upon popular IP such as Back to the Future, An American Tail, Problem Child and Casper. Their previous works on film included Curious George and Woody Woodpecker; the latter of which... wasn't well received due to it being restricted to direct-to-video. However, to ensure that animation can be made as fun and attractive, as coined by NBCUniversal CEO and president Jeff Shell, it can not only be made for kids but also for adults too. What I would imagine is that a new animated series should be based around any highly acclaimed film, or just make it original. If successful, it might develop a fan base that would cater to all viewers, no matter what genre.
Acquire [adult swim], Boomerang and Cartoon Network with a bit of rebranding - I know I'm going to drag too much naysayers in this post, but hear me out. Imagine if NBCUniversal casually negotiated with Warner Bros. Discovery by owning the rights to all three divisions [adult swim], Boomerang and CN, and then they'd be split as three respective channels, they'd be rebranded as a certain following: Universal Animation Network (Kids and Families), Universal Animation Classics (everyone) and Universal Animation Alternate. The latter of which is similar to [adult swim] but as a full-on focus for adult animation. All original animated shows to air 24 hours with Woody Woodpecker, including re-runs of Universal Animation Studios produced programmes while hiring former CN animators and artists who were ousted by David Zaslav himself and then get experimental and inspired. Just to keep viewers waiting while new shows are presented without cancelling them. Oh, yeah. Don't shoehorn live action on every network unlike what Stuart Snyder did. Then relaunch said programmes on Peacock in case they miss out. Speaking of Peacock...
Make original animated web shows on Peacock? - Similar to Woody Woodpecker who received a 2018 web series on YouTube, Universal Animation Studios should consider making more original animated shows on their live streaming service Peacock. It can develop new shows as timed exclusives before being aired on either one of the following networks (original, Classics or Alternate) or just YouTube in case no one signs up for the app. Afterwards, it'll help NBCUniversal and Team Peacock to boost more interest into the animation market, just like how DreamWorks Animation had creative control with Jurassic World and Fast & Furious. Sure it had mixed reviews since launch, but after hearing it was the big home to the New Woody Woodpecker Show that debuted on FOX Kids circa 1999, every animation viewer immediately signed up for the app and started to binge watch the living hell out of it. Though, I haven't seen the entire show since it was aired. Luckily, I still have Peacock installed on my iPad Pro, but haven't had the time to sign up for it. Maybe in March, I could consider using a year round subscription so I don't miss out what's going on (i.e. the Super Mario Bros. Movie).
Win against WAG, Disney and Nick while avoiding negative actions - Whether it's from Illumination, DreamWorks or their original animation division, Universal has a huge library of animated content that's from the classics. Unlike Disney, Pixar nor Warner Bros., they don't force too much wokeness nor political nonsense into their projects. And, unlike Netflix nor Nickelodeon, they don't delist any good programme off Peacock despite cancellations. As stated, animation is all about fun and attractiveness, including going experimental in a unique style. Their division DreamWorks Classics has full access to many animated shows such as Harvey Toons, Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids, Postman Pat, Felix the Cat, Rocky & Bullwinkle and others to show Disney, Warner and Nick who's the real boss. And in case Christmas is around the corner, throw in some Rankin Bass specials so people can get excited again!
What could be next for Universal Animation Studios? - With Warner Bros. Animation now being gutted down by Zaslav and Disney & Pixar facing giant controversies over layoffs and box office bombs, the Rise of Gru and both DreamWorks Animation films (including Jeff Shell involved) could open the gates to their division once again and show undeniable proof that animation can be made for everyone to enjoy. And it's not exactly about kids nor adults. Universal can then reach out to fired employees of both Disney and Warner Bros. and pitch new and original ideas with a talented story, a line of characters and even memorable moments that can make anyone feel lighthearted about watching said content. Love it or hate it, Universal Animation Studios is certainly the future.
And that's all there is about my reasons why Universal should admire animation more than others. But my certain thoughts about it? Well, I have a feeling 2023 is about to get more interesting with the new animated Mario film and Trolls 3 set to be released in cinemas prior to Peacock re-releases. And as an avid Universal enjoyer, I appreciate their hard work now. :)

[Hot-take Review] Puss in Boots : The Last Wish
Disclaimer: i've started this review some weeks ago just after i've seen the movie (november 27th)
I've watched this movie in preview some days ago and i absolutely wanted to do a little review about it. Normally there's no spoilers in this post, i will do a more complete review (with spoilers this time) when i would have re-watched it. Also a little disclaimer, this is my first public movie review ever.
Ok now back to the movie. First of all, i didn't want to go watch it. I had personal reasons for that and frankly i wasn't fond of the first movie. To me it was "meh", like it was kind of fun but nothing exceptional. However i finally accepted to give it a try, even if i wasn't excepting anything from this movie.
Aaaaand i loved it. I was into it from the start to the end.
Compared to the first movie, it's more mature and well constructed. No really bad childish jokes, or just a few here and there i must say it didn't marked me (unlike in the first movie were it really bored me). Also the characters are truly well developed and the characters designs are neat. I think if Dreamworks keep up with hybrid animation (like we also saw in "The Bad Guys") and with that kind of good scenarios we'll have gems.
Animation: 9/10
They really did a great job with the hybrid animation. The slow frame rate moments were interesting and i like that they only used it during dynamic fights. It was a little disturbing at first but i got used to it.
The artistic direction (management?) is absolutely incredible, the colors and textures are beautiful. Also the atmosphere is often amazing, but in some scenes the brights colors are just too much. With textured surfaces (like fur for example) it tend to work well, but for flat tints the result was kind of weird and even giving an impression of collage. Sometimes some colors are almost neon, which can hurt to see when the all decor is like that. Sometimes you can see it was on purpose but other times it just gave the impression that it was badly handled.
Of course it's what i remember, i've seen it once some days ago and had to re-watch the trailers to be able to put words on my impressions. So to me the visual is incredible despite some little mistakes.
Scenario: 8.5/10
Really well balanced and incredibly well managed with that much characters development in parallels from one another. The base subject (death and how to confront it) are really well treated and the global message as "classic" as it is (you have to settle for what you already have) is well shown and in differents ways. The only flaws to me are some lines of dialogue who are useless, common or even clichés (in the bad way) as well as some little scenario "easy options". But nothing that, at first viewing, stopped me to fully enjoy this movie. I also liked the really highlighted subtext about egoism and envy.
Characters: 9/10
The characters are truly endearing (even those you wouldn't think so) and most importantly, like i said before, very well developed. Nothing is created, they just used the good basics of a good constructed character and some good clichés to deepen it with a good scenario and interesting subjects who where deeply treated. This good character development is also allowed by the presence of two "static" characters, so those who stay loyal to their principles from beginning to end. This type of process permit to make the others characters evolve around them and tho highlight their change, i've found it truly well used in this movie. Also the relationships between the characters are well handled. There is a different type of relationships showned : friendship, love, family and self relationship.
Conclusion:
8.6/10
One of my new favorite Dreamworks movie. Also as a animation student i would love to work on this kind of movie, i'm so happy to see this kind of animation with a big studio like Dreamworks. I will definitely go watch it again and i totally recomand it!
