Hello my lovely fandom :) I hope you are doing well. I can't believe we are at the first half of the finale it's unreal. For only having 10 episodes they've really made them count I will have to say. The writing has been so good this season. Killing me softly but so good. Can only imagine had we had a full season what they could've done. But tis not good to dwell on that ha Let us get started.
6x09 The Squeeze
Ugh poor Tim already breaking my heart 5 seconds into this. It's how he’s looking at the crime scene that gets me. Eric conveys so much with just a look. Always blown away by him. His look is saying so much as he looks on at the chaos. He is processing so much in this moment. Bless Grey showing up to break him out of it. Loving the hat btw Wade. Rocking it good sir. Tim letting him know immediately about his suspicions about Dr. London. Grey telling him to be careful with such accusations.
I love Grey protecting Tim with this friggin Detective Pearson putz. Coming in way too hot. No one I would rather have there to have his back though. Well other than Lucy. But Grey is the the right one to have there in this moment. Always protects his people. Hate this guy already. Wanting to crush Tim to advance his career. Just looks like such a weasel. *grumble.*
John was not ready the rant Lucy sent his way when he asked if she was ok. His face lmao Our girl has a lot of feelings ok? Lucy says she’s good. But you’re not my friend. That rant proving she is anything but ok. Sounds like she is trying to convince herself more than anything else. She is lost in life and where she really is emotionally right now. This scene is proof of that. I know people feel she is being isolated this year. I think the writers are doing this intentionally. I don't see it as bad writing which I've seen mentioned. I don't agree. Because it's very in character IMO. Feel like its setting something up as well. Also she is also the one isolating herself.
Even before Tim broke them up she was doing this. Look at her behavior the entire season. Especially after the exam. Handling everything on her own. Making rash decisions without input from anyone. Not even Tim. Hello Jeff Budney ...Just like Tim isn't open with anyone but Lucy she is the same way. Other than Tim she isn't very open with people about deep personal things. About what's affecting her. So this fits. She even shut Tim out of that situation in 6x04 in her decision making. Not since Jackson has anyone really made it in other than Tim. So this is pretty in character for her to isolate. People may feel it's more Tim but he's not the only one.
His is just showcased far more. Her's has been on display this entire season. Lucy and Tim are scarily alike in this way. She is a control freak and like Tim in the way she shuts people out. How she wants to handle it herself. I mean they have the same fatal flaw. It's why their communication became the problem it did. As much as Tim has growth to do so does our girl. That explosion of emotion just shows how very not ok Lucy is. I'm sure come summer or mid summer with the extended hiatus I might have a more fleshed out analysis of her. But she definitely isn't ok that much i can confidently say now.
I adore Angela calling Lucy to give her a heads up. Always looking out for both of them. Guardian Angel that woman. Friggin Nolan in the back asking what’s happening? She’s kinda busy John so hush. That concerned wifey voice is instantly present on the phone with Lopez. Her turning away from them both once it's about Tim.
This quickly became a personal phone call. Her reaction when she hears this. Oh my lord Closing her eyes. Taking in the severity of the situation. You know her immediate reaction was how he was. How was he feeling? Did he need her? The worry settling in and multiplying quickly.
The wifey vibe is continued when Tim calls John to be his union rep. Ugh killing me how worried she is for him. Concern seeping out of her in this moment. Despite everything that's her person and she still loves him so much. Her first instinct is to be there for him. My heart. Lucy asking Nolan how he sounded? Her tone bleeding worry.
Reason she asks is because Lucy can pull everything she needs to know from that alone. Knows him so well. Her innate need to be there for him. Regardless of all that has happened between them. Melissa killing it with the concern in her voice when asking how he sounded. *heart clutch* You can FEEL her worry.
Tim is so anxious waiting for Nolan. I wanna hug him. Jumps up minute he gets there. Telling him they’re gonna hang this around his neck. That now that Mad Dog is dead their scape goat is gone. Idk I would trust John alone for this. But Tim doesn’t have a lot of options right now.... I will say John proves me wrong later in this ep but my first thought was not 'Nolan should spearhead this.'
But look at Tim reaching out for help. Doing this so differently than how he handled Ray. I’m so proud of him. Taking a totally different approach on this one. Not isolating himself and reaching out for help through proper channels this time. Yeah Dr London sucks for being dirty but Tim has had some growth due to it. I couldn't be prouder of him if I tried. I really hope we continue his therapy journey in S7.
I hate this scene so very much. It was killing me to watch it unfold. She’s using his sessions against him and I wanna cry. It makes me sick tbh. And not even real info about his sessions either. It’s clear she doesn’t wanna be doing this though. Doesn't excuse her but you can see it's not something she is excited to be doing. Her conscience slowly eating at her. What do they have on her? I'm so curious.
This schmuck coming at Grey I wanna deck him. The look on Wade's face you can tell he does too. The amount of blatant aggression and disrespect making his blood boil. Telling Grey he favors his friendships over the city. Was making my Italian temper flare up so very much. Coming at Tim SO hard it was like he wanted to be found out. Bias little shit.
I love the minute Angela hears about Tim's admin leave she calls Wes. Angela saying he better give her a heads up if they're charging him. That she’s standing by Tim a 1,000 percent. Calling him family. Getting all misty over here. Angela loves him so much. He's very lucky to have someone so amazing in his corner. Love me some Angela Lopez. Loyal to a fault. Just like me fiercely protects and defends who she loves. Coming at her own husband to defend him. Adore this woman.
Can I just say I adore Lucy seeking him out. Not only that but making sure she has a private moment with him by pulling that stop button. Telling him she is still mad at him. That this doesn’t change anything. (and yet it changes everything IMO) Tim is so confused because the last thing he expected was this hug. Or her empathy at all. Hell when I saw the promo last week I wasn't either. It's the way he just MELTS into her like butter. His whole body relaxes. You can see the anxiety just drain out of him. Clinging to her like a life raft. Emotionally she is in this moment. Holding her as close as he physically can. He is so grateful for this moment to hold her again.
You can tell this is the first time in a long time he's felt whole. Felt peace of any kind just by being in her arms. This hug is so beautiful you guys. I'm tearing up just writing about it. The way she envelops him so completely. Such raw emotion in her voice asking if he’s ok? His answer makes me wanna cry. ‘I am now.’ Reminiscent of 5x21 when he said the same thing. He wasn’t ok till he heard her voice. The same thing remains the same here. He wasn't ok till he was holding her again. My damn heart. I love how she tightens her hold on him when he says this line.
Like she also can't get close enough to him either. They're just clinging to each other for dear life. This hug gave me so much hope. You can see how in love they both still are with one another. I mean my goodness the way she straightens his collar afterwards and touches his arm lovingly. Reminds me of the lint picking moment from 5x12. Still doing wifey things and can’t even help it. That wifey energy coming off her in waves. It's automatic when they part. Just seems so natural. After being apart physically since 6x06 .They easily fall right back into it. So damn nice to see. Feels like I'm breathing for the first time since 6x06 ended. I'm dying in the best way everyone.
Lucy then re-opens the elevator and they share some VERY loaded looks before she departs. I’m not crying you are.... God I love Tim and Angela’s friendship so much. She is willing do whatever for her bestie. She also is wanting so badly to be tagged in for this. To protect him in any way she can.
Tim seems confident in his play even if Angela doesn’t. Letting her know he's handling this one differently than Ray. Do love her saying different isn't her haha God he's lucky to have all these amazing women in his corner. I adore their friendship so very much. I need more of it in S7 writers I just do.
Really loving Lucy going UC for Harper and Lopez for this case. I think this is part of that setting something up I mentioned earlier. Lucy breaking my heart with the detective comment though. *sad sigh* But classic Lucy to have 8 covers ready to go. God I love her. The most Lucy Chen thing ever to have that many on deck. Not only that she's been growing them for months.
I love this human so very much it's insane. It's no wonder Tim is so damn gone for her. She is the cutest most prepared little nerd and I adore her for it. The look between Lopez and Harper is too damn funny. Tim would not be surprised by this info at all LOL Also her alter ego hitting close to home right now. 'A little lost in life....'
Really enjoyed this shot of Lucy and the nanny debriefing her before we head into the scene. This guy gives me the creeeeeeps. It's no wonder she didn't want to go back into that house. That dude looks like a sociopath. She can handle herself but good lord I hate her being near him. Dude has dead eyes too. The wife looks like she is a prisoner.... The whole scene made me uneasy and nervous for Lucy to be there.
Never thought I would say this....But I’m impressed with Nolan and how he’s handling this situation. That's right you actually read that. LOL You're not crazy. Or seeing things. He’s doing Tim some serious justice right now. Rattling all the cages of the potential dirty cops she’s seeing just by being here. Confronting her like this to see if it bears any fruit for them.
Having Smitty stakeout her office because he knows it'll make her uneasy and easy way to log who comes. Has Nell pulling data for him with police fails for last 6 months from dispatch. Also yay return of Nell. Love her. Honestly first episode in a long time I enjoyed his character. So well done John you pulled off quite the miracle here.
Love Grey in this scene. Hell in this episode really. Papa bear ready to devour anyone threatening his kids at it's finest. This scene was cathartic to watch after this putz had been stomping around. Acting like he owns the damn place. Smearing Tim's name all over the place in the process. Threatening Grey in his tirade. Wade's final straw is him coming after Nolan/Celina.
You can watch Pearson visibly shrink when Wade is done tearing him a new one. Doesn't say a damn word after he tells him to stay in his Iane. You tell 'em Wade. I was cheering him on this entire scene. Was a huge tell for Nolan and Celina as well. Nolan's tactic working very well. Outing him as dirty cop because of his outburst to them working Mad Dog's place plus confront Blair.
This scene makes me VERY nervous for Lucy. She did a really good job listening in till the damn toy. I mean she caught it before it hit floor. Unfortunately the friggin thing goes off with it's song. Giving away not only her position but her potentially her cover. Because he finds it on the ground and has a menacing look on his face. Dude gives me the actual creeps. Well done to the actor cause he makes me wicked uncomfortable.
I don’t like the idea of Lucy going back into that house. Like at all. Extra backup or not. I think her cover is blown and sending her back is like sending her into the Lion's den. She is very competent and can handle herself. That doesn't mean sending her back in isn't extremely high risk. Especially with Monica buzzing around now. We'll see how that shakes out next ep. Kinda hoping it produces some Feral Tim if it goes sideways while she's in there. A girl can dream right?
Prepare yourself. I was once again was very impressed with Nolan in this episode. He did a really good job leading Celina and doing what Tim asked. Was smart about his moves. Bringing Smitty and Nell into it and getting the info he needed. Shaking trees and getting fruit from it. Using everything around him properly even Smitty LOL She's got some balls on her asking for complete immunity and a new life. Also Idk Nolan can promise any of these things.....But it'll be interesting see how the second half of this unfolds.
Now Eric had mentioned in an interview post 6x06 about communication for them in the finale. So I'm excited to see what that'll mean. Will they have a real convo? Idk but i'm excited about it. All I want is them to be in a better spot before S7. I never expected things to magically come back together by seasons end. It shouldn't be that way. Also the season too short for that.
The SL deserved time to breathe and develop a bit. My hope is we will be on our way to reconciliation by end of finale. That hug was a damn good start to that goal. As usual thank you to ALL that like, comment or reblog these. Truly mean that every single one means so much to me. Excited to see how this season ends.

Harper and Lopez proving what a bad ass duo they were through out the ep. I need more of this in s7 writers. These two woman are dynamos and I need more of it.
Can’t say I didn’t Miss Tim the rest of the ep but damn was it good. I love when they do ensemble cast stuff flexing what a good cast we have as a whole.
Wes standing up to that heavy was impressive and pretty attractive. He’s grown a lot as a character was nice to see.
Loved the ladies nailing that crooked detective. Amazing. Grey getting to put HIM on admin leave. Suck it you schmuck.

drew WHB Belphie pre-debut because yes?!
Very long discussion under the cut vvv
HE IS HERE YESS (even though he is very late)
I'm very excited for when he drops even though it'll definitely take me a while before I actually get him because I'm f2p only and I have shitty gacha luck hahaha...
Anyway, here are my theories: for some reason, I have a feeling that he's very mean? Or like, he's one of those who will bully MC LOL
(though I can't tell if it's bully because he likes mc, or bully because that's just how he is)
Idk, I just think he'll be prickly because of the piercings. He has so many! Four helix piercings on both ears?! Also, it looks like he's wearing a windbreaker? Or some sporty jacket which makes me think jock...which is also not very sloth-like lmao. It reminds me of typical gangster characters like Draken from Tokrev.
(Though that will be a very interesting character but it's risky since we already have Levi and not everyone likes him <3 the reason why I didn't draw him very gangster-like is that someone said that he kinda looks inspired by Vkei and I wanted to incorporate that somehow)
I also think he'll have a very... interesting personality. I've drawn him all crazy in the second pic, but very relaxed and a little tired? in the first. That's because I really like drowsy/sleepy eyes and also because he's the representative of the sin sloth so it makes sense. As for the crazy one..I also think that aside from the mean attitude, he'll have a very energetic/eccentric personality based on the art. Like he'll be all up in your face talking about the weirdest shit because he wants to get a reaction. Or he's just one very informed and knowledgeable king who has many, many secrets.
Speaking of secrets, there is his hands. I know the other kings also have hands in their teasers, but with Belphie, I think the hands have more significance. Because like, why is it covering up most of his face??? The other kings at least have an eye, nose and/or mouth showing through the fingers, but Belphie only has his left eye with two pupils. I'm starting to think he's very secretive or mysterious. Maybe he's a reclusive king and that's why not a lot of demons know about him or his country? Or maybe he's as strict and 'militaristic' as Nifleheim's description says of their country? Or maybe he has a scar that he's covering up? Idk but I am gonna be disappointed if it turns out to be a red herring >:(
Oh, and another thing about the hands— I might be grasping at straws here but the fingers look like teeth. The way they're intertwined in front of his face makes it look like teeth, making me think either he has very sharp teeth or his idiosyncrasy is related to teeth (i know, this is beyond grasping at straws now).
Also, I didn't draw his horns because I have no idea how to draw his horns. I can't see it at all in the teaser art unless it's this thing beside one of his hands which is....?? I'm not sure. Because if that's so then he's similar to Valefor with a horn in his eye (correct me if I'm wrong huhu) and if that's the case, then he has a very cool design that's very unique from all the current kings (including Asmo if they're going to reuse the design they had of him from Love Unholyc)
Unless his horn is the black halo above his head? In which case, how the fuck is that connected to his head?? Or is it floating with magic?? I don't understand. Why the halo? Is he connected to the angels in some way? A traitor, perhaps? Is he somehow related to the angelification stuff that I barely know anything about?
ALSO ALSO what's with the Roman numeral six on his forehead??? Is that just a random tattoo or will that mean something lore-wise? If so, does that mean he's the sixth king to be before Lucifer? (this is assuming Luci is the last king and Asmo is the first king) Or is this a hint that he's the sixth king MC visits/breaks the contract with? If it's the latter...then I don't know if I have enough patience to play through however many chapters it will take until we get to Niflheim...and also...my phone storage can't handle it eheu
It could also just not be a Roman numeral six and it could be a Latin word/quote that I have no idea about because it's hidden by his hands. Salvi is the only Latin word I could think of with 'vi' but that means 'saved' and I don't know how that works with Belphie. Because then he got saved?? By who?? And why would he need saving?
So many questions and so many ideas, I wonder when they'll officially introduce him (hopefully not next year...).
Also, does anyone know when Lucifer's selfie card goes into the normal banners? Because I don't see him there and the only thing I'm sure will go into the normal banners is Levi's school card which will be three months from now iirc.

Little Alastor Character Analysis
(Also sorry there's no visuals to further my point, I only have prime on my TV and I don't have the time to get it from the internet as of now (Though I may get some later when I get the chance!))
Okay so a lot of people are comparing Alastor to Val after that one scene in episode 5.
But like it's stupid to compare those two in even the slightest way, let me explain why before you start attacking me.
Alastor is someone who we know dislikes physical contact, at least when it's not initiated by him. Because of this he's obviously not going to like physically fighting people, at least not close range.
Proof of this when he fights Sir Pentious, he always keeps his distance.
[The only time we see him NOT keep a distance while fighting is when he's defending the hotel, which is a project he's put a lot of time and effort into keeping upright. Not to mention he said himself he wanted to blow off some steam (Though while I don't belive he was nessisarily lying, I don't think that was the complete truth) It's also worth mentioning that even during this fight he's somewhat keeping his distance and the only reason he's doing this is to example his strength so he can, and I quote, "...show everyone not to mess with the Radio Demon!" ]
More proof of this is the fact that he LOVES verbally fighting people. Like in litterally every song he's in he butts into another person's song and tries to be the one to finish the song.
He clearly does this with Vox, and obviously attempts with Lucifer (Though he was interupted by the raid)
While he and Vox were fighting [ I'd like to think that Vox spent all of those 7 years coming up with those insults to try and get to Al ] he very clearly is improving his comebacks, and quite well might I add!
Did you see his expressions when he could tell he was getting to Vox and clearly winning?
That man was enjoying it. He loved being able to one up people on a whim.
And while he struggled a bit more with Lucifer (Mostly because Lucifer wasn't nessicarily trying to retaliate to Al but trying to interupt him and basically drown him out, which Al isn't used to people doing and dislikes it, mainly because I imagine he sees it as improper and impolite) He clearly liked pushing Luci's buttons. [ We can see that at the 'call me Dad' jab ]
SO (sorry kinda went off on a tangent (though it's still evidence so it kinda works)) BACK TO WHAT I WAS SAYING
Alastor enjoys verbally fighting people. And he enjoys watching peoples reactions to the situations he puts them in. [ *cough cough* the pilot episode towards Husk*cough cough* ]
He obviously going to let a lot of 'disrespect' towards him slide, because that's the reaction he wanted.
There are a few reasons I think he attacked Husk like that.
Number one being the fact that he was already irritated with Lucifer from beforhand when Luci kept interupting him and being impolite/improper.
Number two being the fact that Husk kinda said some things to Al without Alastor himself initiating the conflict.
I mean yes he definately was pushing all of Husk's wrong buttons after Husk 'questioned his judgement'.
Not to mention he's not used to people being able to find out what pushes his own buttons as he's usually the one to do that to other people.
Just to be clear I am not defending Alator's actions in any way! No one should react to anything in that way, buttons pushed or not.
Back to why I even started this in the first place! Alastor and Val aren't alike at all!
One of the main things about Val's abuse is it's mainly physical. He often assaults and harrases his employees and overall enjoys more physical means of doing things. [ ex: him wanting to go to the Hotel in person to 'teach them a lesson' (albeit with a mid-long ranged weapon) ]
But Val enjoys watching people be in pain because of what he's done to them. Almost all of the ways he abuses Angel is physical, even in episode 6. He doesn't so much as say anything harmful ( Yes I'm aware that sometimes he does, but we're looking at what he mostly uses in his abuse) so much as tell Angel that there will be physical consequences to his actions the next day. He's threatening him with future physical abuse, not really finding ways to emotionally abuse him (other than the fact that he knows Angel dislikes and fears the physical abuse)
In conclusion, Alastor and Valentino are vastly different characters and the only thing they have in common is the fact that they're abusive to their, for lack of a better word, employees. Though it is still worth mentioning that they differ even in the ways that they abuse them!
They are both abusive in their own prefered ways and I hate them for it. And I should! That's good writing right there! You should dislike a character for being horrible to other people, dispite their reasons behind it. While yes some characters in other medias are horrible, I almost never agree with there actions nor aprove of them, though I do understand their reasons for taking those actions (ex: often they were abused themselves when they were younger, or they think that behaviour is okay because of how they were raised, or they feel forced, etc...)

I love Jack's uncertainty upon reading Lucy's memorandum. The vulnerability in his voice as he asks van Helsing what it means, and if Lucy is mad.
Quincey's voice is so soft and sweet when he asks to have a talk with Jack.
Man, Jack really is running around all over the place isn't he.
"I don't want to shove myself in anywhere where I've no right to be;" this is why Quincey has been gone from the book for so long.
the music while Quincey describes the vampire bat
love the "royal lot of [manhood]" line, but also the whole bit before it, with Jack being so soft and full of sympathy for Quincey, more so than himself

Lucy's sobbing aches to listen to
"Some may not think it so sad for us," oof, she sounds kinda bitter. perhaps insinuations have already been made? not necessarily that they killed him but that this is mighty lucky for them isn't it/that they deliberately got close to him when he was dying in order to inherit

Am I jumping on the train of offering thoughts no one asked for for the first time even though I promised myself I never would? Apparently so. Do I hate myself for it? Little bit. But here we go anyway.
Maybe they never had Angela tease Tim about dating Lucy (yet) because some time after 5x02, she realized that it was much more serious than she initially thought? Like, maybe she teased him thinking he had a little crush, not actual soul-crushing feelings that caught him so off guard he didn’t quite know how to handle himself at first. Would I have loved to see her reaction? Sure. But I get that we won’t see every moment. We never got Angela or Nyla telling everyone that they were engaged, or that they were pregnant with Jack and Leah. Will it happen this time around? Probably not. Why? Who knows. Maybe because we, the audience, already know, anyway. And that’s fine. Gives us all different head-canons about what might’ve happened, in all these cases. And I kinda love that.
We all build up SO much in our heads and expect so much, especially about Chenford and their relationship, so that when we get something different or less than that, we’re immediately disappointed. Which is fine, we all have our hopes and wishes. But the show’s not only about Chenford. We didn’t get to see a lot of Angela and Wesley’s moments early on, either. They were suddenly living together in 2x01 and then we got more. Yes, I realize Chenford is different, because it’s been built over five seasons. But super romantic and cute (read cheesy, if you want) has never been the show’s MO, so why go there now? We might’ve seen more for Nolan and Bailey, but he’s the main character.
Tim and Lucy have known each other for years at this point and built a solid foundation, they don’t have to get to know each other like the other couples, so falling into an easy rhythm in their romantic relationship after some initial awkwardness is super in character. We don’t need to see all those early moments. There’s still seven episodes left to watch. Plenty of time to throw in some Chenford goodies. We can still get a morning after/cuddling in bed scene, we just didn’t get one for after their first time. Giving us too much too soon would be too fast. And not every meaningful moment happens in the first two months of a new relationship.
Please don’t immediately jump to ‘this is bad writing’ if it doesn’t exactly match what you expected or wanted. They’re all putting in their best work and just because some moments we wished for didn’t happen doesn’t make it bad. We’re not gonna get a parallel to every significant moment from earlier seasons. Take the DOD tattoo, for example. That was talked about in one episode, the one immediately following DOD itself. It’s never been talked about again. I’m not surprised we didn’t get a moment of Tim finding out if Lucy kept it or not. Is it okay to be disappointed about that? Of course. But that doesn’t mean the writers are dropping the ball on Chenford. It just means they pick what they want to show and when they wanna show it and we gotta accept it. We’d all be pissed as hell if they never got together at all or it was dragged out until it was too late. They’re together, we’ve already gotten more than we could’ve wished for this season. A Chenford-light episode or two does not equal dropping the ball or forgetting that they’re a couple. They need to be their own person still with storylines separate from one another. They don’t need to be attached at the hip 24/7. 5x14 for example wasn’t about them as a couple. It was about Tim getting started with a new job and Lucy being a good roomie/sister/bestie/mom to Tamara, with a bit of Chenford sprinkled on top.
Not liking an episode is perfectly fine. Give me all the constructive criticism. But not liking it solely because it was very light on or void of Tim&Lucy and Chenford moments? That I don’t totally understand. Yes, a lot of us watch primarily because of them. But then we need to be prepared for and accept those kind of episodes.
Am I saying ‘don’t be disappointed’? No, of course not. I’m simply saying that we need to remember that there was never a world in which everyone got exactly what they wanted to see. Not because it’s an ensemble show with nine main cast members, but because it would be way too much to show everything for two characters that are arguably the most loved but not the official leading characters in a 42-minute episode of a cop show. We don’t know what the rest of the season brings, but everyone on that show knows how beloved Chenford are. They will always have their moments, just not in every episode. Because it’s not a show about just them. If we want more seasons, we need to accept all of that.
Clearly I’ve been feeling it lately. Guess I’m just saddened that so much negativity’s been going around about something that brings me so much joy and I love so dearly. Something that so many seem to love so much, yet some are quick to kind of hate on the moment we don’t see Tim&Lucy in a scene together for an episode. Let them take a breather. Hell, let US take a breather once in a while. 5x16 is already looking to be a good one for the two of them. We’ll be fine.
And one last note. Trust in Eric. If he says there’s good stuff coming, there’s good stuff coming. Not just in general but for Chenford. We all know he’s the biggest shipper of us all. And he has never let us down.

Actually screeching like a goddamn pterodactyl about your Aquarius & Lucy headcanons, their friendship is way too underrated in this fandom! You have no idea how happy that post made me like— 🥲🥲
I apologise in advance if it seems like I’m coming on a little strong but I have many feelings about these two, like I gobble up every tidbit of Aquarius & Lucy I can get, I’m not even kidding I’ve read every single fic on ff.net AND AO3 about them.
On a side, and very much angstier, note… do you think the spirits could’ve felt Future Lucy dying during the GMG arc? Or if they could like sorta see into the human world via some kind of mirror-lake thing? Cos if so that would be hella angsty (I’m actually still kinda pissed Loke had an almost zero reaction to Lucy dying right in front of him when he’d pledged his life to her like ?? I have so. many. pent up rants about this anime you will not believe) and I’d be so eager to hear your thoughts on it!
Side side note: Loke’s cat ears are fucking adorable and I screech every time I see them 🐱
Oh and I know you’ve touched on it a little bit already, but if you have any headcanons about Aquarius during significant moments like post-Eclipse Celestial Spirits arc or perhaps a little immediately after her key was broken, since we almost never get to see the spirits’ POV, I’d be so excited to hear them! Pretty much anything Aquarius and Lucy haha (I’m sorry if I’m coming on a little strong). I’m actually so addicted to angst lol (but that’s not to say I don’t love a good ol’ heaping tablespoon of fluff!)
I love all your headcanons very much and re-read them whenever I need a smile! Keep up the good work!

Don't get me started on Loke lol, I feel like he has so much potential and is just thrown to the side. Especially cause it seems like he only has one personality trait nowadays :(
As for the spirit world, it's pretty confusing in the canon how it works cause of the weird time thing. But my idea of how it works is that the spirits can sense certain things about their masters. Like they can feel when she's in danger and know when to jump out and save her. I also assume that only works if they have a strong bond. Like Loke couldn't sense Karen dying but can feel everything with Lucy. (kinda like that comment he makes the first time he fights with Lucy about how it's weird that he can pass through so easily.) But I also think that means Aquarius can no longer feel Lucy and is constantly stressed about if she's okay or not. (I also imagine the king has like a weird mirror lake thing he can look through. King perks, you know?)
I wonder if the bond would be different between Future!Lucy and the spirits. Loke seemed just as surprised as the rest of them by the Lucy reveal but that doesn't mean he didn't feel something weird when Future!Lucy showed up. I bet they could feel like a faint trace of a second Lucy but probably ignored it cause that doesn't make sense. (I really have no idea. What a head scratcher...)
I have another couple Lucy and Aquarius posts coming soon so I'm gonna hold off on throwing any on here (for space reasons) but imagine the angst of Aquarius desperately wanting to help Lucy because she keeps seeing her spirits leave and come back wounded, but there's nothing she can do and the spirits wont give her any info because they know she'll just freak out worse. Imagine Aquarius begging the Spirit King to let her watch what's happening and praying that Lucy doesn't get seriously hurt or die. (this isn't exactly inspired by any fight in particular.) I love angst so much... Maybe I should write a fic lmao

DISENCHANTMENT PART FIVE SEMI-SCRIPT DOCTOR (ig)
Ok so, I would like to begin with the character deaths. I’ve got a lot of points but I’d like to start with death. (Also I might forget some stuff don’t kill me (also also forgive me for my lack of gifs n pics :( ))
Luci dies for seemingly no reason other than to make him an angel and bring mora back, two exceedingly stupid reasons in my opinion. We have already been served the point that Luci is a really good person- for example, WHEN THEY SENT HIM TO HEAVEN THE FIRST TIME. The only thing he does in heaven is be there when jerry kills god, which does practically nothing besides -now getting into my second point- bring mora back. Now, I know that sounds mean but if you think for more than a second you may realize we already have a pretty available means to bring mora back, THE ETERNITY PENDANT! It’s pretty apparent that this last part was rushed and since we already know where the pendant is we could use that pretty useless b-plot time for things much more important AND we KEEP LUCI ALIVE! Then we could also make bean choosing to bring mora back with the pendant a direct parallel to the whole Elfo death debacle! A GIANT BEAUTIFUL FUCK YOU IN DAGMAR’S FACE! Now, in terms of Elfo you may already know I do not enjoy the Elfo-Miri relationship, but I swear I have good, non-gay propaganda reason.
So, as you may remember, Elfo is already the heir to a throne. The ogre throne. And as we see at the end, Miri would’ve ended up queen no matter what. (And I do think giving the kingdom back to the elves and having Miri be one and rule was a good idea btw) so why the hell did we get a very rushed and ,supposedly, very important relationship with one of our MAIN CHARACTERS. Them being together does fuckin NOTHING and once again WASTES MORE TIME WE DONT HAVE! We could’ve made even more time for more important plot lines and Elfo still ends up a royal. SHABAM another problem solved!
Okay, now I wanna talk about characterization. Starting with Luci.
Luci is, through provided evidence, a really genuinely sweet thing. So why thE FUCK is he so into being satan’s son and extensively, torture, this season? At the very least they could’ve given him SOME hangups! He has grown so much since the first season and yet they continue to ignore that. It’s very frustrating :(.
Alright, elfo’s turn. I don’t have much to complain about regarding him this part but, blegh. I think my biggest hangup about him is how he reacts to luci’s death, the whole thing just feels eerily wrong. Though I suppose with my rewrite we don’t have to worry about anyone’s reactions to luci’s death so,,
WEPA! Bean time! I DO NOT LIKE THAT SHE LEFT WITH NO GOODBYE! I HATE IT ACTUALLY! bean is so incredibly attached to her boys and they have changed her life for the better, literally reigniting her WILL TO LIVE! She would never in a million years abandon either of them. I do support her decision to leave dreamland and I do find that in character but everything else just feels wroongg,, also why push the whole ‘choose love’ thing if she ends up abandoning her best friends?
This one’s short but zøg one billion percent should’ve had a proper goodbye with bean and I don’t understand why he didn’t.
Also get rid of all the ‘I’m gonna destroy the magic’ stuff. Still have bean be pretty irked towards magic but also have her be all “ magic ruined my life but I kinda need it for the whole killing my mom thing”.
Probably also retcon alva’s whole plan cuz It doesn’t really make sense. AND NOW WE’VE GOT EVEN MORE TIME!
I know I definitely missed some stuff but this stuff irks me the most 100% hope you guys like this strange not very well put together rewrite :) 👍

First things first.
R's pics with Andrew and with T.
Andrew and R: both of them are physically distant from each other. In all the pictures his hand is in his pocket and there's a good distance between them both.
R also isn't leaning into the touch which seems to be recurrent when it comes to T. She's chill but she isn't seeking out his touch. And they've known each other for how long at this point? And also, for the sake of argument, which or her costars does she mention more often/does she have more pictures of her on her IG?/did she said she loved (other than J and T obviously). This is important and I'll go into more detail after you reply.
Second point, I believe that in 99%of pictures T's hand is in a respectful part of her body. A little bit above her waist, her shoulder, I don't think I've even seen a picture of them where he isn't touching her in any way. If there's any pic let me know, please.
In a few pictures they definitely look like an actual couple. Let's be real, how many men will kiss the heads of their female friends who also happen to be in a relationship already? And how many of them will get into hot tubs with them? (This is incredibly intimate, and yet there we have it).
R is constantly seeking his touch, is often close to him, staring up at him and he's not afraid of touching her back which is funny because even at the premire a lot of journalists were talking about how R and J are dating and its not like they kept it a secret. There was no reason that he'd act grouchy just for them to sell the movie and if people need to tell themselves that, well...
Again talking about the interview, it's interesting to see how defensive R got over the kiss. Ir was a genuine question that she should've expected and yet she deflected it completely and talked about J which is well, telling. I said that because it's a mental displacement - meaning: the brought up subject causes a response that makes you uncomfortable because it forces you to deal with a subject you aren't ready to deal with yet and you displace your mental thought to something familiar and comfortable.
Tbh imo it's almost like she's downplaying the kiss, especially with how she says: it was professional (imo I don't think she believes that herself otherwise she wouldn't have worded it that way). She could've straight up answered and said: oh we did this, this and that and agreed upon this, this and that and yet she fumbled and talked about J. I think T might've been disappointed with the use "it was professional " because maybe it was a little more than that for him.
Tbh there are moments in the movie where it seems that isn't Coryo being smitten with Lucy and looking entranced by her, I think it's genuinely just T thinking how pretty she looks, especially in the lake scene

She should’ve been prepared for the kiss question but I’m glad we got to see her real reaction. She froze up completely and used J to deflect so she wasn’t forced to deal with thinking of the kiss with T. I wonder if T does the same? Kinda of shuts down when thinking about marriage and kids? At least going based off tarot reads…
True! She’s doesn’t believe the kiss was entirely professional and T doesn’t think so either which is why he was neutral when she was talking. I found that interesting because he values privacy and professionalism but didn’t nod to anything she said. Very strange.
T was definitely disappointed by the kiss answer and got a little sad so he brought up J and the love notes to deflect too.
Yeah the lake scene where Lucy Gray is talking and leaning on Coryo. A little bit of T came out because he’s always transfixed by R’s singing.

georgiamac brainrot under the cut. y'all know how it is.
1. this gun for hire
ohhh maccready. you're much more than that and you've got a big storm coming.
2. just here for the paycheck
which is what he tries to tell himself in the beginning. he does think georgia's dedication to the minutemen is a bit silly, a lot more morally righteous and "do no harm" than he's used to (little does he know that georgia is a "do no harm but take no shit" kind of person), but she pays well, she's consistent, and keeps it fair.
3. calling someone by their last name is the best way to flirt, actually
georgia almost exclusively refers to him by his last name, so this comes into play a little more once she allows herself to be a little flirty.
4. a ship dynamic that's less of an "italicized 'oh' moment" and more of an "italicized 'ah fuck' moment"
this is pretty much mac's reaction once he realizes he's got it bad for georgia. it snuck up on him and when it's finally staring him in the face he is very distressed by it for multiple reasons. he worries if it'll change things between them, feels a little guilty upon realizing he's slowly moving on after lucy, and fears that georgia won't return the feelings...
5. yes yes i do like you. i am afraid to write the stronger word.
...so he represses them. his "oh i never thought about that" line in his romance in this instance basically means "i wouldn't let myself think about that." on georgia's end, she's got all sorts of mixed up feelings thanks to how her relationship with nate went. is she allowed to move on? should she even be worrying about this when she's trying to find her son? she can't keep her emotions hidden for very long, but she'll allude to them in this case.
6. when i'm with you the line between 'friends' and 'lovers' blurs and i don't care which side i end up on as long as you'll have me
their whole relationship can be squarely defined as friend to lovers. potential spoilers for BLP, but i don't have them planning to outright tell each other their feelings until right before georgia goes to the institute for the first time (subject to change, but probably not). so they have a looooot of time in that will-they-won't-they area, both afraid to make the first move, but knowing that whichever way it goes, they still want to be at each other's sides.
7. i don't know. i mean, we're two sides of the same coin, right?
there it is ! one of my favorite lines in his romance. both are widowed parents trying to do right by their kids while also trying to survive by themselves at the same time. even before they get to know each other, without even knowing, they already understand what the other is going through.
8. please never leave / where would i go without you?
mac basically says it out right, we know he hates being alone, so once he and georgia get close and develop feelings, he really doesn't like being away from her if he can help it. really, he's worried something bad will happen to the one person in the commonwealth that took a chance on him who he's already invested so many feelings into. for georgia, she already decided long ago that mac was her partner (in the platonic sense of the word, to start) and she doesn't see herself going anywhere without him. she wouldn't want anyone else by her side.
9. i am better than i was; i will be better than i am
i am firmly of the opinion that despite him being a little shit mac wants to be a better person (he contains multitudes). it's why he lied to lucy about being a soldier, why he left the gunners, and why he's trying so hard for duncan. why would he lie if he didn't want lucy to think better of him? why would he leave the gunners if what they do wasn't "catching up" to him? why would he fight tooth and nail to save every cap he could for his son? why do all that if you didn't want to be, or at the very least be perceived as, a better person? working with georgia and the minutemen (as well as the railroad later on) kinda give him that push he needs to really decide what kind of person he wants to be.
10. there's good in this world, and i found a little bit of it in you
after first leaving vault 111, georgia was convinced the world was past saving and that she was never going to find shaun. she thought the world was cruel and without mercy. but then she found so many people, mac included, who proved her wrong. for mac specifically, she caught on that he wanted to do better and in doing so, she found another spark of good in the world.

Happy Weekend all :) First off sorry I forgot to thank everyone last ep. My Chris rage was immense so it knocked me off kilter haha So thank you all for reading ❤️ We’ve hit another fav on my list. The dance alone makes this episode amazing. It’s also the things leading up to it that are also great. This definitely has the why aren’t you together moment? Excited to cover their iconic dance. Let’s get going.
4x18 Backstabbers
We begin with Tim telling Lucy they're not riding together. That she's with Nolan and he's with Aaron today. I love Lucy’s little nose scrunch. Clearly not happy she has to ride with someone else for her shift. Riding with Nolan wasn’t on her list of things she wanted to do today and it shows. I can't get over her dislike of being separated from him for the day. I do love her sassy reply though. Can’t let him know not riding with him bums her out.
Also we all know he would rather be riding with her as well. But you know neither of them can admit as such. Because god forbid we do that eh? So they bury their feelings in their banter per usual. Definitely got that old married couple energy going on here. The sassy eyebrow pump she does is so cute. Tim is gonna miss her we all know it haha We also get that Tall/Smol shot I love so much as well. Always happy to get one of those.
They pass Webb on their way to the kit room. He tells Tim what a good job he did on the Stewart case. Lucy is smiling then putting things together. Saying isn’t she the one who solved it? The one who made the connection? Also that she got punched in the face while arresting him...
Tim cutely says ‘You’re jealous.’ Clearly amused by this reaction of her's. Then goes on a classic Tim rant. Asking if that’s why she does this job? For high fives from Webb? We all know that’s not what she’s asking for here Timothy. Lucy tells him it would be nice to have some recognition. It is part of the reason she took being his side. Amongst other reasons….
He then does what he thinks she wants and it backfires. Pretty badly. This isn’t what she meant by recognition. I do love him winking at her while he’s explaining it to Webb. Saying how he couldn’t have solved it without her. All it does it make Tim look even better. Because Webb just continues to praise Tim. He can't possibly think that's what she wanted LOL Now it looks like he is being selfless and sharing credit.
Lucy’s reaction is hilarious when he asks her if she feels better? Cleary not Timothy... She is still pissed because this is after the fact. She wanted the recognition when the case happened. Not after when Tim’s name was already the arresting officer. It's not the same thing. Oh my love you aren’t getting what’s she’s throwing down right now ha Her body language and facial expression expressing her discontent with him.
Aaron joins them and makes the worst decision he could. Kissing Tim’s ass. Idk why he would think this was a good idea. Especially after riding with the female version of Tim LOL Tim is straight forward with Aaron. Tells him to not kiss ass and set up the shop. He turns to Lucy looking for advice. Wisdom of any kind. She is the Tim dictionary after all. No one better to go to about this man.
Unfortunately she is too caught up in own thing to dispense anything helpful. Just goes off on a rant about credit. How he shouldn't let Tim just steal it from him. Poor Aaron is like 'uhhh but I’m a rookie…so that is not helpful at all' ha I love her pout and restlessness as the scene ends. Lucy is so salty and needs to vent. Aaron is not your guy for that sadly.
We catch up to Lucy full on ranting to Nolan about Tim. Telling him it’s not even about the recognition. I mean…it kinda is ha She continues on saying how every single case file has Tim’s name on it. How she’s the one filing all the reports for it. She asks Nolan how she’s supposed to take on more responsibility if no one knows what she’s capable of? Nolan being the dope he is tries to get factual on her. *sigh* John this is why you are just friends LOL You clueless dope.
Asking her 'Wasn’t riding with Tim her idea?' Lucy says yes cause he takes on all the high profile cases. Which is huge for her. Nolan adds in that she is seeing a down side to that now? She nods and he continues to put his foot in his mouth cause Nolan. Saying she should just get reassigned then. Tim would understand. (I don’t know he would...) Also that's not what she wants at all. She was upset they weren't riding for one day together. So there's no way she's walking away from being his aide.
Nolan is being such a man right now. Trying to solve her problems when she just wants to vent. To hear ‘yeah that sucks .’ Or ‘Tim should give you credit’ I love her calling him out on it. Like listen John you are here to listen not problem solve haha Luckily he does as such and repeats back that Tim is the "worst" (I mean he’s not she just stupid frustrated with her work hubby ha). Lucy’s cute little smile after he does is adorable. Like good boy Nolan. ha
We flit back to Tim and Aaron. He tells Tim he’s ready for any test he wants to throw his way. Tim says that’s why he’s not going to. That Harper is a great T.O. (Look how far we’ve come since s2. My heart.) He’s been on the job long enough he doesn't need them. He lets Aaron know today isn’t about if he will make it. It’s about what kind of officer he will become when he does.
Aaron asks Tim how they’re gonna find that out? Tim says by figuring out his superpower. He starts to list everyone’s. He’s spot on for Harper and of course for his girl. I mean her empathy is one of her biggest strengths. She is very good at adapting to any situation. I mean her biggest adaption was Tim at first. Hehe It is her superpower no doubt.
He then says Nolan talks a lot LMAO Aaron isn’t disagreeing….I love Tim’s answer to his follow up question. That if he doesn’t have one he’ll be Smitty Haha Aaron looking nervous and feeling like this is still a Tim test somehow…I mean it is. Just a character based one. Which is pretty damn important to Tim Bradford. So...you should be nervous. lol
This next portion for Tim and Aaron is hilarious. They’re called to a guy magnet fishing. He tells them he found something strange. It’s a sword. Aaron mentions a murder that involved decapitation recently. Tim tells the man they’ll need to take it. He looks bummed but says at least he can get money on something else.
Aaron panics and levels Tim. Knocks him to the ground immediately. Poor Tim and his back issues. I have those now it hurts to watch him tackle him to the ground like that. Tim makes a crack saying 'Clearly being able to identify fake grenades is not his super power.' LOL Aaron makes a face and we see Tim’s back covered in goose crap hahaha Oh Aaron is bombing left and right.
They're back in the shop and Tim is eating his potential super powers for breakfast. Kudos to Aaron for suggesting more and more though. Except Tim is destroying every single of one of them…It’s so funny to watch. I mean it’s not funny for poor Aaron LOL Just more proof no challenges him like Lucy. Truly no one can match what she brings to their dynamic. You know Tim feels it when she’s absent. So he is just mowing down Aaron in the process haha poor guy. I do love Aaron though. He’s such a goober and it shows through out the rest of this season and into the next. He was a great addition to the cast.
Tim and Aaron respond to domestic call. This man just got paroled and wants to see his son. His ex is fighting him saying he can't be anywhere near them. Tim takes the man's ID to run him and Aaron asks to talk to the man. He does a good job calming him down with his own experience. Tells him I’m sure he’s dreamt of this moment for years.
He’s also sure this wasn’t how he expected it to go down. That he needs to remember it’s been years for them. They've been living their lives while he was gone. So they might not be ready but someday they might. Gives him his card and the number for James if he needs it. They can help him get back on his feet when he's ready for it. Tim walks up and tells him good job. Finally got one right. Yay Aaron.
Tim walks up to Aaron at the wedding reception to discuss his super power. Wanting to make sure he knows what it is. He's been searching for their entire time together. Tim tells him that it’s experience with being incarcerated. Clearly he has a connection to those that have been in prison. That empathy and compassion is what he can build his career on. Gah I love when he’s in teaching mode. Fine af. *fans self* Teach away sexy. This scene ends with funny bit about the park moment haha I enjoyed them together a lot.
This next moment is an all time fav of mine. Tim surprising Lucy not once but twice with his actions. First off by bringing up that dance he 'owes' her from 3x14. You know Tim kinda made the first move with her more than once before they were together. 3x14 being one and this being another. He’s the one to bring the dance back up. A dance I’m sure she never expected him to bring back up. We all know he wanted to dance with her and this was his sly way of doing that. So he uses the guise of saying it's still owed to her.
Tim ‘I don’t do weddings’ Bradford wants to dance with his girl. This is his way of getting that but still being himself about it. Acting like he has to do this. When I’m sure that dance has been on his mind on and off since that moment happened. We see right through you Timothy but it's ok hehe The absolute sass from Lucy is on par for her. Always toe to toe with him. She too is excited he’s cashing this in. You can tell she is happy he remembered this dance. A debt was owed hehe Tim making a face but you know he loves it. She is his equal in so many ways but especially for banter. Tells him like it is and he keeps coming back for more.
Ahhh these two idiots in love. Looks at this man when she takes his hand. That is his full blown Lucy smile. That 'I’m a goner for this woman and would do anything for her.' smile. She is the only one who brings that out in him. He’s so love with her at this point you’d have to be blind not to see it. He lights up when she takes his hand and makes a classic Lucy expression at him. You could power a city with that smile of his. The way they walk onto the dance floor you'd think they were each others date to this party.
Harper’s daughter earlier said she liked her mom with James. Noting that ‘You’re happy when you’re around him.’ These two are never happier than when they are around each other. Their true self’s come out and they are radiating joy. Look at those two above. They are carefree and light as a feather in this moment. Projecting heart eyes as far as the eye can see. You’re never gonna see them be this way with their current SO’s. They don’t bring out the best in them. Anyone around them can see they’re gone for one another. Except them….
Tim is heart eyes galore for his girl from the minute they hit the dance floor. Lucy is flying pretty high herself. Look at the way she is looking at him in that first gif. Transparent as ever at hiding her feelings for him. Tim starts off with the thing he knows is bugging her. He didn’t spend the day with her but he knows her. Knows it ate at her all day long. He also knows it's something he needs to rectify.
Lucy has simmered down at this point about it. It’s evident in her reply to him. Tim forges forward anyways. I do want to note the eye contact between these two. It never breaks as they speak to each other. It's so intimate. I love him gesticulating his fingers around her hand. Re-wrapping them around hers as he explains himself. It's a cute fidgety thing he does while trying to get what he needs to say out. It's the little things I love so much .
He starts out STRONG complimenting her. Not only complimenting her but saying she is in the top 5 he’s ever trained.(Psst. She was the best one.) No better praise she could receive in this moment than that. Lucy being Lucy has to make a joke. She craves his praise but also can’t handle it at the same time. I feel that girl I’m the same way. Tim is looking down at her with massive heart eyes might I add. Saying he wants her to have a successful career.
He wants to support her career the way she’s always supported his. No hesitation and putting her first. Look at the way she is beaming up at him when he says this. The way she's searching his face as he speaks. Gah how do these two not know they’re in love? Honestly. She looks so enamored with him as he’s talking. Their smiles and heart eyes are so loud. They’re screaming how they feel to the entire party.
Tim shocks her even further with his next set of comments. Lucy is already on cloud 9 as is. He’s asked her to dance, he’s complimented her in the best way and said he wants her career to be successful. She is in serious shock when he tells her he’s listing her on all future reports as the arresting officer. Lucy is in awe of this man right now. Not only for doing this but for how he’s grown. As a person and as a sergeant.
For him to step aside like this and give her the glory. To put her career ahead of his so she can succeed. The way she says ‘But you’re senior officer.’ Reminds me of her in 5x12 being in the same amount of disbelief replying ‘But that’s a desk job….’ Lucy can’t believe what he’s giving her and putting aside. He finishes it off with his version of I love you at this point. Saying she deserves to be recognized. What he's also saying is she deserves to be recognized by him. He's so damn soft in the delivery of his words. His body language also as relaxed as we've ever seen it.
The way he looks at her while he says this. Be still my heart. Screaming his feelings in this moment without realizing. Showing Lucy he hears her and has done something about it. That he cares, wants her to be a success, and that he’s putting her first just like she always has done for him. Lucy is sassy in her retort because she can be. (Ain’t no one else talking to this man the way she does) She is looking up at him with the same amount of affection he's shooting her way. Telling him 'You’re right I do. Thank you.' haha Look at her. She’s saying I love you right back in this moment. *sigh* These two.
Everything about this moment makes me squee. The non stop romantic looks they’re throwing each others way. The way they’re gazing into each other eyes the entire time. Forgetting everyone else there and the fact that they can see this love fest. Then comes the cutest most carefree part. Look at the smiles on these two! They’re so gone for each other at this point. I imagine this would be similar to how they’ll dance at Nolan’s wedding. With a little more closeness and kisses ha
Seriously though. Have we ever seen Tim this happy and relaxed? Only when he’s with her. It’s oozing out of him in S4. The laughing, the smiles, Lucy complimenting his moves. That glorious smile of his when she does. Be more in love you two. If someone just saw these gifs no context. They’d think they were a couple in love having the time of their lives on the dance floor. It’s hard to believe they were dating other people at this point. I mean look at this scene. They look so damn happy together. Truly just enjoying one another’s company.
Lucy is beaming with happiness when he spins her around. How he leans into her as he spins her around. Her laughter as she leans into him after he does. My heart is gonna implode from the cuteness everyone haha There’s a reason it’s one of my all time fav moments. It’s so sweet Imma get diabetic. Such a good episode I cannot. One of my favs of the season. For this moment alone right here. *sigh* I love them. Moments like this I knew were cementing them for s5. Slow burn at its finest.

I’m very much with you on the writer thing, especially with FOMO & Nicole and am actually a bit surprised at the current backlash (though maybe I shouldn’t be). I guess I somehow missed all this negative energy when FOMO first aired but from the reaction I saw I thought it was one of the better received episodes of the season.
It gave us some lovely Eddie & May bonding that showed just how well he was taking to therapy, the mother & her daughters which felt like a classic 911 heartbreaking emergency, and a lovely Henren story that felt a bit more pleasantly lighthearted than most previous Henren focused stories.
Like yeah I thought the Lucy stuff was cringey too but most of it was cut and what little was left is relatively easy to ignore or skip through. To me it felt like on of the closest episodes to pre-s5 911 than what we’d gotten in while. And if this mid-season finale if Hen focused, her previous writing has me feeling kinda good about what we could get for Hen.
And if people are that worried about Buddie, I don’t think we’ve seen enough of her writing on the show to know if her being on this episode means we’re not anything with them or that it will be written badly?

Writers don't make the final call on anything even if they have a producer or executive producer label in front of their name (KR was already co-shunner in s4 and Tim rejected parts of her original script, ffs), so idk where fandom has gotten this idea that Nicole has the power to dictate when L comes back. 🤨 KR (and Tim, who should still be observing from a distance) would be the one to decide if/when it's time to reintegrate the character, and the writer of the week would then have to include her in the episode.
And the people talking about her being "obsessed" with Lucy because she was...nice to AK? remind me of the reaction to Tim saying he wanted to "explore the reporter angle" in s5, but it turns out the main motivation for asking MW back - and putting her on screen more than intended for the first half - came down to scheduling/cast issues! Nicole may have liked Lucy as member of the 118, but KR is the one who wanted Lucy to get some decent screen time in FOMO...and then changed her mind while going through the editing process.
As for the "we're not getting Buddie :(" whining going on...
1) There's been *some* Buck and Eddie every midseason finale [2x10, 3x10, 4x08, 5x10], so even though Nicole tries to use men as secondary characters for a woman's story...we could be surprised. I don't anticipate "crumbs" or anything, though. It's still only gonna be episode nine of eighteen.
2) Tied in with the above - it's only episode nine!!! There's a whole other half season to give us Buddie content. Right now is about Hen making the decision between doctor and paramedic and Buck dealing with the aftermath of agreeing to be a sperm donor, which looks like it could be finished before 6x09.
Three and a half seasons (the amount of time Buddie has been a strong possibility - I’m not counting s2) is not as long of a wait as people are making it out to be, and I think they would be more "forgiving" if Buddie were treated like a het couple ie obvious jealousy or outsiders questioning their feelings for each other, but again...We're not watching a het couple. We're not even watching two canonically queer characters. Where's the blueprint? How are they "supposed to be" handling this? How do you know the show is doing it wrong? ("Taking too long" is not a good enough reason, fyi.)

Some CoT shenanigans (?)
I know it's been only a day since I read the book but I need to do this so badlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Here are some thoughts about CoT that I need to get out in the open before they eat me alive. I’m just a fan of this series since 2014 and I’ve been waiting for this book to come since that year.
(Note: English is not my native language so sorry for the mistakes)

In general I can say I really enjoy the book, I liked it a lot. I mean, I did feel it a bit rushed since the Intermission chapter, and at the same time I felt it a bit slowed before the same chapter. I felt as things that were relevant (for example, the bracelet thing or finding Lucie) could be written or summarized in two or three chapters but took so long to resolve. Anyways, I’ll be breaking down some of the stuff that I can’t stop thinking about
1. The love triangle. I mean, WHY? There was already a third person in that relationship (aka Gracelet). I won’t lie, at the beginning I wanted to know what would happen or how would it be if Matthew and Cordelia kissed. But just a kiss, not the whole bridge and hotel scene. While I was reading half of it, I wanted the kissing to stop lol. I mean, you can see how much she drowns in love for James in the past books, but there are just tiny glimpses of her POV when she acknowledges Matthew’s smile, eyes, etc., but not in such a romantic way as when she talks about James, it was more friendly if anything when she talks about Math. That difference made me feel that maybe the scene was kinda out of place. Idk, I just felt as if there wasn’t enough romantic history between these two to make such a scene like that (not the way as in TID where you could see Tessa and Jem having those moments as well as Will and Tessa). Their friendship was really special, and it should have remained that way. This love triangle felt as another way to wound Matthew bc I think everyone knew how it would end.
2. Cristopher’s death. IDK HOW TO FEEL ABOUT IT (Of course I’m sad but you know). Because I really wish we could’ve been able to see more of him in the past books. I had a really strong feeling that all his potential was only shown in a few pages of CoT, in the way he helped Matthew with his abstinence and Kit’s reaction and wisdom about all the bracelet thing. I know he’s similar to Henry’s character (in the way he’s too wrap up in scientistic stuff) but Kit is WAY CLOSER to the Merry Thieves (damn, he was one of the 4 members – and as far as I’m concerned James, Matthew and Thomas characters had similar relevance) and way more INVOLVED in the plot than Henry was on TID. I do think Kit deserved more relevance.
3. The coronation. I had hope it would have some deeper meaning to the plot, as if the coronation would allow Belial’s to take control all over the world, not only London (I can’t recall if it was mentioned, if that’s the case, I would’ve liked more elaboration as to the consequences) – or for instance, it would had some other frikin’ dark and evil reason as to why he’s been planning all this stuff up since so long ago.
4. There were too many characters for only three books. I mean, we followed so many storylines and that’s why I felt it was a little rushed in the end. And even in the Epilogue, it didn’t give me a sense of closure (tbh, Idk if that’s for the better) – still, I don’t know why I have this feeling as if there were things left unspoken. Like I was expecting for a conversation between James and Cordelia after everything that they went through. Same for Lucie and Cordelia (this is another thing that had me losing my mind, see next point). I was hoping that we’ll get to see Matthew’s story confession and the whole gang reaction. I thought we would see all and more scenes I wanted to read but there were only sentences that made look as if everything was so unseeingly settle.
As well, there were situations that I thought would be a little bit hard to work out (Anna and Ariadne relationship or Alastair’s confession for reference (Idk if I’m missing something but I don’t recall Sona knowing that Alastair liked men, pls forgive my bad memory if that’s the case ☹)) but at the end it was so simple. I mean, despite everything Anna and Ariadne had said in the past, I was expecting they’re relationship to develop a little more strongly. Idk if that makes sense but I felt such an absence of Anna’s usual character, Idk why (For instance, this is regarding her behavior before Kit’s death). I mean, they never really talked, there were only kisses scenes - but I wanted them to actually sit and settle things down, not in the rush of the moment, like the battle.
5. Cordelia and Lucie relationship. OMG I wanted so bad for them to be parabatai. This was one of the reasons I wanted to read TLH, but tbh I felt as if their relationship was push aside (for most of the series). I know each one of them had a secret but I’d loved to see them bonding more than for a few scenes. And in the end, IDFK when did they worked out their problems. I mean, there were pretty awful words and hurt feelings between them but I don’t know if I missed the part where they apologize – or at least talk about it. Still, I’m happy to see they did get to do the ceremony and all.
6. Grace. For most of my reading of TLH I only thought of her just as a tiny not-so-evil lovely bug that was manipulated by her mother. I didn’t exactly hate her – I felt a strange sympathy for her. It was such a complex character and I liked the way she was developing throughout the book – until the epilogue. Idk what it was but somehow, I felt her ending incomplete.
7. Tatiana’s death. I didn’t want Cordelia to kill anyone. I mean, I know they’re shadowhunters but they kill demons, no humans or someone like them. It was weird at the beginning BUT honestly Idk what other ending I can imagine for all the horrible things Tatiana had done.
Now, things I actually LOOOOOOOOOOVED.
1. The way Matthew’s problem with alcohol was handled. I was so f****** afraid he was going to die bc of it, but he didn’t so I’m happy.
2. One thing that I really loved was the fact the it was the love that James felt for Cordelia what break the bracelet and free him from its power and also overpower his grandfathers will (considering that man was a Prince of Hell). I found it rather poetic.
3. LOVED WILL SENDING FIRE MESSAGES AND THE THELEPHONE THING. THAT WAS SO FRIKIN FUNNY.
4. I didn’t know how much I needed the scene between Tessa and Lucie until I read it. (And the little fraction of sentence were Tessa and Will were fighting the Watchers).
5. This may be controversial, but I feel so conflicted about the ending. I already established that I didn’t get the closure that I’m used to regarding other CC’s books. Still, I can’t help but be happy that the couples (except for Kit and Grace) ended up being together and happy.

why healing feels scary:
the interval of not knowing who you are.
during our early-formative years, if our identity is formed in a chaotic, consistently tense, or abusive situation -- that is not the true you. it is rather an identity made up of reactions, coping mechanisms and probably some damaging false beliefs. when you start to heal, by either finding or creating the proper conditions of safety and curiosity, those defenses start to fall away. they’re simply not needed as an inner-felt-sense of security builds in the actual tissues and cells and blood and bones of your body and nervous system.
enter the shakey rawness of “who am i really?” what do i do now that my body isn’t worried about survival or walking on eggshells? you mean i don’t need these walls around my heart? i don’t need to people-please or feel shame for simply existing? i don’t have to emotionally caretake others to receive love? for real?
[and it’s a process, right...an inching out into the new...a recoil...inching a bit further...maybe a smaller recoil...back out again, inner space strengthening...]
it doesn’t have to be scary, but often what’s familiar is soothing even if the familiar pattern or dynamic is painful. kinda weird, right? like we gotta keep touching that hot stove until one day we can really see it clearly: this fucking hurts and i have the power to change. it doesn’t super feel like i have the power, but deep down somewhere i know i no longer need to touch that hot stove and i can figure it out, somehow, even if slowly. i rather be wildly uncomfortable figuring it out than repeating *that.*
so here we go, off healing into unknown territory...getting a little bit braver as we scooch our way forward, wondering if maybe uncertainty could be...really rich? like, richer than we’ve ever known?
during this interval, i suggest adopting the archetype of an explorer, researcher, discoverer, scientist, archaeologist, excavator, you name it! start to experiment with anything that might light you up.
maybe you already have a few things that light you up but even still, perhaps they too were reactionary.
for example: when i was a little girl i longed to be a star just like lucille ball. i can see now how that easily (likely) could have been a reaction to what i felt was an environment where i wasn’t able to safely express and have-heard all of my emotions...a longing to fully express myself, to be seen, accepted and loved for who i am. it’s no secret that this is a motivation for a lot of performers (maybe even dear lucy herself). as roxie hart puts it from the musical chicago:
“i’m a star and the audience loves me...and i love them...and they love me for loving them and i love them for loving me...and we love each other...and that’s cuz none of us got enough love in our childhoods...and that’s show-biz, kid”
jumping ahead to my twenties when i started acting -- was this something i enjoyed doing? yes, yes, yes and no, depending on the role. now, i am careful with my motivations. will this role or gig be fun for me? will it be fulfilling to play this character and explore their life story, their nuanced depth of emotion? will it expand my empathy or confidence in some way? or am i acting just to be seen? admittedly there is undoubtedly some-”thing” in my core being that has a streak of lucille ball, a streak of performative outrageousness, maybe my leo rising...so who’s to say really? did the developmental wounding set me on my way into something i'd inevitably enjoy doing?
sometimes it works like that, especially with a lot of artists.
but what i want to get at about art or any hobby that lights us up but that contains lingering trauma motivations: let it transform the past for you. let it work for you, not rule you - because at some point in your healing journey, you might find a loss of fuel for that thing you enjoy so much...perhaps the need to prove yourself through this activity has faded...what then? it doesn’t necessarily mean the activity or medium is no good, but can it be a channel for the true-er you? maybe, maybe not. maybe it is time for something entirely new.
another example: my nature walks. people speak of walking (especially) in nature as so relaxing and pleasurable. for me these walks have been a necessity. since a young age i have routinely needed to go outside and be alone, a lot of times bringing with me some heavy load to unwind that it can start to become a reflex for the mental and emotional body, “oh here we go outside again, going on a walk again, cue up some problems to work out.” i’ve had to unlearn and retrain myself how to go on these walks and enjoy them for what they truly are: a pleasurable gift.
i am still learning.
i, too, am in this interval right now, excavating and discovering what kind of life i want to lead with a greater sense of harmony, of safety, and not safe as in tiny window-of-tolerance, pushing out the world to feel safe, but this wonderfully exciting, growing window-of-presence...an opening up more fully to myself and others kind of safe. a simultaneously silly, vulnerable and owning-my-power kind of harmony.
and i feel raw as fuck. :)
in the words of my bcst teacher Anna quoting the words of Leonard Cohen: “ring the bell that still can ring, forget your perfect offering, there is a crack, a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.”
