this is like a decidedly non-vague vaguepost but some mutuals have been watching eva recently and one of them has repeatedly said that she wants to read methods of bioterrorism afterwards and it's like, oh god, I don't know that it was actually any good lmao idk if it's worth digging that back up

I've been trying to listen to the new mass destruction, because apparently it doesn't play naturally in battle. And it's taking me a while to get used to it. I really do hope there's a way to switch it back to the original, almost like the p2 remaster in a way.

Currently watching: I'm not really watching anything at the moment, but I last watched John Oliver's Last Week Tonight episode on jury duty (partly because I wanted to prove a point to a particularly stubborn person in my life about how jury duty is a good concept but poor execution results in furthering of systemic racism by effectively shutting out a huge percentage of people who are already disadvantaged and-)

Currently reading: I have a very bad habit of opening one book, reading it, getting like 17% of the way through and then remembering something cool that happened in another book and wanting to pick THAT ONE up. Soooo... I'm currently reading:

Annihilation (WotSQ) by Philip Athans

Servant of the Shard (Sellswords/LoD) by R.A. Salvatore

Brothers Majere (Dragonlance) by Kevin Stein

...and I also keep going back and forth between an already large and ever-growing collection of books on Ancient Greece & Hellenic Polytheism.

Current obsession: Drow. Definitely drow. I *could* hyper-fixate a lot less, but I'm intentionally allowing my brain to go fucking hog wild here because I'm genuinely at my most productive when I let myself just get 587% immersed in something I love, and I let people beat me down for it way too much as I was growing up.

I... don't have a lot of followers and don't know who hasn't done this yet? So whoever feels like doing it, I guess. :P

Hey y’all! I had a bit of an asthma flareup* so I can’t do a bunch of the things I meant to do today (laundry, cleaning, cooking, singing, etc**). That does mean I have more time sitting at the computer than usual, so if you have any questions about any of the hobbies I do or suggestions of what I should make next (especially pride stuff for pride month) I’d love to hear them! *I am okay! Had to use my inhaler, am kinda tired, but mostly fine. I am just not enjoying the Pollen Times in a place where the local flora are something other than cactus and palm trees **the cleaning products I have are usually below the threshold of what causes me asthma trouble, except in times like now, when I’ve just had an asthma attack. So. No cleaning for me today. The singing is because it can also trigger an asthma attack if I’m on the edge of one? And it wasn’t really on my to-do list today, it’s just something I do a lot and get frustrated when I can’t sing for a day or two

#the person behind the yarn #on the one hand there's no tumbleweeds here and I'm like 90% sure I'm allergic to tumbleweeds #in the 'hives and migraines and anaphylaxis' way #and it's nice to not have that #on the other hand I never had pollen-induced asthma trouble back in socal #like. on the whole the asthma is less trouble than the anaphylaxis #but there's something in my kitchen that usually doesn't bother me at all but has set off like three asthma attacks now #and idk what it is! I can't figure it out!#oh well I guess I shouldn't complain that much #pollen asthma is much less bad than smoke asthma #and my ribs are in better shape than they've been in YEARS #just because I had a fire season with no fire (because the part of Tennessee I'm in doesn't HAVE fire season it's so weird)#I am grumpy about not being able to sing lol #like. I know it's for my own good. I KNOW it will cause me problems.#I still want to sing! but no #and that means no piano or guitar either because I know myself too well and if I play an instrument I will also sing lol

I got a bit crazy and manic and in 5 days I built 2 low flutes and a tagelharpa cello with no prior knowledge on how to build any instrument.

The crush has come.

My body aches all over, my right arm is about to fall off, I don't think I can hold a pen for the next week, I'm overwhelmed and tired, there's sawdust and chipped wood everywhere, I've cried for the past 15 minute, I want chocolate.

#tho if you're curious flutes are crazy easy to build #I've made mine with just a pvc tube i had laying around and a cork #don't believe those who tell you tagelharpas are easy tho #i mean they are #but if you want them to sound good a box and three pegs aren't enough like those you see around the internet #I've learned more from violin makers than i have ever known through living #like did you know that the holes in the body of string instruments aren't what catches the sound of the strings?#they do the opposite #the sound comes from the bridge that makes the wall of the body vibrate amd the hole propells it foreward #I'm probably just dumb and this was common knowledge to you but let me tell you I didn't see it coming #anyway turns out tagelharpas sound a lot better with a bassbar and a sound post #and if you don't know what those are go to the luthiers on youtube #and to find where to place those you need math #you also need math to know the ratio of everything #but you can also just make a box with three pegs and not empty yourself of every drop of dopamine in your body #personal

so now that i know that i'm 100% playing skylar.....

i gotta a) get my lyon crappy electric guitar from my mom's house (my elementary/middle school guitar from before i was ACAM (assigned clarinet at middle-school)) cuz like... lyon is to washburn like squier is to fender (it's a sonamaster which is the washburn equal to a strat too and cause skyler is a strat, i guess that's neat)

and b) ... i started learning them on my acoustic and can play along at this point but i need to practice and decide on either...... definition of ugly is... solo or shift solo

shift is pretty finger style solo (also very simple to play) and definition of ugly is is a D#maj chord slid around the neck for different major chord pitches lol)

like i have to get muscle memory on guitar and ukulele sorted out at this point, cuz like... i only practice my bass and my reeds lol

i do not know if i will come across as insane as the girl who asked them out on a date (lol), but i think this may be worse?

like crazy girl asks celeb on date, kinda normal level of crazy.........

crazy girl knows 10 instruments because BAND was her special interest in middle school, not very normal level of crazy

also i have a band concert 8 days before my vvvip where i have 2 bass clarinet solos lol.... "do u play any instruments" is, not bestest question to ask me lol

#personal #hey.... band was why i was like... finally released from occupational therapy in 7th grade LOL #cause my fine motor skills were good enough to get let out...cause of how much i practiced that stupid clarinet in 6th grade #(ofc i dislocated a joint immediately after being let out of government sponsored in school OT (right thumb lol))#i mean i practiced that stupid instrument a LOT tho.. so much.... a crazy amount... my bottom lip inside would bleed sometimes #i'm also in the nutty section of my band cause everyone in low reeds plays at least two other instruments #i found out our 2nd bassonist was lead alto sax in the navy band at one point..ooooooo #(if they ever draft ppl (i know women aren't drafted tho) i get...out w/ band or at least try to)

each string represents a different style of music, a different culture, a different kind of troll

for barb to call the strings, and not just the hard rock string, HER strings is her appropriating all those different cultures, all those trolls' different lifestyles and identities as her own WHEN IT'S FUCKING NOT

and here's the real kicker folks

since without any strings, music is now "dead" and barb turns to poppy and blames the death of music on her

she blames poppy's act of self defense against barb's attempt to assimilate not just her but all trolls to hard rock's rule
