HERE I AM I WATCHED THE FINALE
OKAY FIRST OF ALL IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD AND ACKNOWLEDGED/BROUGHT BACK A LOT OF THINGS I HAD NOT VERY HIGH HOPES FOR
but i gotta be honest, the whole season did. it was fun and genuinely hilarious, while also acknowledging (maybe not doing something with it yet, but we have a whole other season already under go) some plot points like colin dreaming about his childhood with lazlo
THIS FINALE THOUGH
i honestly honestly honestly have to say, i would not have changed a single thing from it. it was INSPIRED. i want to talk about the theme of this season, the vampires are assholes and they will never be nice to each other, but they are a FAMILY and they care about each other so deeply
first of all we have the morrigan manor trap, which i enjoyed so much, and although the season did a great job at building up to this with a hundred little moments in the previous eps, i was still literally shook at seeing the vampires face the music. like wow the guide is really telling them off for how they treat her and guillermo. like, i felt it. and nadja and lazlo are like ok this could have been a conversation but fine heres some footage of us being nice about u behind your back, AND THATS SO LOVELY LIKE - MY DEAR WE ARE FUCKED UP CREATURES OF THE NIGHT WELL NEVER TELL YOU TO YOUR FACE THAT YOURE IMPORTANT TO US
and its like. this season does a lot to put all the previous seasons into perspective. i cant even begin to speak about nandor and his aversion to turning guillermo. like, CHRIST
anyway the moment where nandor finds out was SO fucking delicious i love you mr de laurentiis i am completely in love with you going insane going insane also like ive seen some DISAPPOINTMENT over this finale and im ???? speechless is it that they didnt kiss or fuck? NANDOR KNOWS GUILLERMO BETTER THAN HE KNOWS HIMSELF HE KNEW HE COULDNT BEAR KILLING HE KNEW HE WASNT READY AND WANNA BET HE ALSO KEPT HIS DISTANCE ALL THESE YEARS BECAUSE HE KNEW THAT WOULD ADD TO GUILLERMO WANTING TO BE WITH HIM FOREVER BUT HES TOO CODEPENDENT TO LET HIM GO WHAT!!! THIS SHIT IS DELICIOUS

but where was i ah yes nandor finding out nandor staking out panera bread and talking to some rando about guillermo and nandor going to his mothers (vampire killer! so its like dangerous for him lbr) place once he found it within himself to let go of the humiliation and prioritize his feelings for guillermo. let that sink in. he didnt want to find him not really. otherwise he would have threatened his mom weeks ago. nandor actually forgiving guillermo and its just like that. because he loves him too much. nandor doing the gayest most romantically and sexually charged shit in the world to prove to guillermo he actually has forgiven him. nandor bringing guillermo home. and saying he will be living with us AS AN EQUAL
nandor bringing him blood. and while we are on this topic, NANDOR WHO HAS THE IQ OF A RUSSIAN TOILET KNEW RIGHT AWAY WHAT GUILLERMOS PROBLEM WITH HIS TURNING WAS AND HOW TO FIX IT. AND HE DID. IMMEDIATELY. WHILE LAZLO STRUGGLED FOR WEEKS. NANDOR KNEW INSTANTLY. this episode had such biiig caretaker nandor energy and i fucking gobble that shit up. he pays so much attention to guillermo and he is so warm and loving to him whenever hes not catching himself…… i think im gonna go cry
nandor looking at guillermo with barely repressed lust as guillermo shows off his new vampiric powers and is taken by a frenzy to just go and do some shit. nandor lurking in the shadows listening to guillermos confession about not being able to kill, and looking so broken up about it, and wanting to fix things immediately for guillermo (but he cant, and btw im glad they brought back the lamp even if it was just to say you dumbass, you are out of wishes, like maybe that was a disappointment to some people but im sort of glad they made nandor use up all his wishes because the whole ceremony bit was sooooooooooooo thoughtful and soooo warm on nandors part). he went and staged the whole place and orchestrated the whole thing just so guillermo could speak from the heart and say he made a mistake. that is insanely loving of him
and btw idk anything about the lore of vampiric lineage BUT! tbh i do think this is such a cool loophole. like when guillermo reverted, time for his human form had passed. which means if any vampire who has lived, idk, more than 130 years had the same thing happen to them, they would obviously turn to dust. of course they would die! but guillermo had this happen only a few months ago so hes good! and the vampirism is reverted! and he has the time and knowledge now to think long and hard if he still wants it
to be honest (not to be a blorke about nandermo) i do believe that nandor and guillermo will get into it next season and the subsequent conflict will be that guillermo cannot be a vampire so he will age and die one day, but i think since nandor is so caring and “acts of service” in this last episode, maybe the solution they find is they decide nandor will turn guillermo eventually, and then bring him blood without guillermo having to hunt and kill (he could also like rob blood banks or drink from people without draining them)
anyway how cool is it that guillermo turned out to be so similar to louis (interview with the vampire, the very movie that got him to want to be a vampire), with the same conflict, except he did get a do over thanks to nandor ❤️
one last thing before i go that i didnt mention NANDOR TYING GUILLERMOS CAPE SO LOVINGLY AND WITH SUCH ATTENTION WITH SUCH REVERENCE GOD I KNOW WE’RE IN FOR A TREAT NEXT SEASON. AND NANDOR FUCKING STAKING DEREK. DO YOU WANT ME TO DO IT. I DONT KNOW. I DO *STAKE *. LIKE WHAT. THAT WAS SO INSANELY HOT TO ME GOODBYE FOREVER AND SORRY FOR THE LONGASS POST

okay with that out of the way. these two acts were definitely just expository, i feel like nothing substantial actually happened but it definitely set up the tone for the final acts
really just lots of lore/history dumping by wriothesley i'm gonna be real i don't think we needed to know that much about the inner workings of the fortress would have been better to get that through context clues e.g. show don't tell but genshin and its classic tell don't show am i right
i did fall in love with the fontaine cast more. but you know who surprised me the most? SIGEWINNE. love that cute mfer. i did not expect to like her as much as i did but like i do i really love that little melusine. love that she literally just has a tranquilizer.
on that note both her and wriothesley are sooooooooooooo unserious i love it. did feel pretty bad for lyney though they really pulled some psychological torture on him
like on one hand it was pretty obvious wriothesley and his reasons (as he said) on the other hand the quest did a pretty good job of making him seem despicable through lyney
like when lyney said I can't lose lynette again... oof that hit so damn hard
LOVE the neuvillette / wriothesley / clorinde power trio i never even thought of that but fucking loved it. their banter and chemistry worked super well. hating myself for making this comparison but it did really feel like an avengers assemble moment. i didn't even expect clorinde to show up it was a nice surprise. THOSE CUTSCENES WERE SO GOOD TOO
also was really nice to see someone other than the traveler save the day and also not really be a main driving factor in the plot :D when i saw wriothesley was gonna freeze punch that ice was like OOHHHHHHHHHHH FUCK YEAH BBY

ugh love her. her design is so pretty i couldn't stop looking at her eyes i LOVE the x pupils. also i was team short haired arlecchino at first but the long hair really grew on me, her hair ornament thing is super pretty as well her whole design is just sooo elegant and she actually feels threatening diplomatically i love it love it
the investigation part in act 3 did feel kind of like a slog to go through but also i kinda liked that it breaked up the linearity archon quests usually go through.
act 4 i felt like just kept going there were so many points where i thought it would end and it just. fucking kept going they really want you to talk to everybody in fontaine in act 4 lmao. there were also a lot of points where i was just like realistically you would not have just "figured this out" but i understand you gotta push the plot forward somehow
underground maps didn't do a damn thing here i consistently kept going the wrong way while running around the fortress
wriothesley vs arlecchino battle of scheming would be really interesting to see

genuinely was just swooning anytime arlecchino was on the screen i'm in love with her yall
okay back to seriousness. pretty weak acts especially compared to act 1 & 2. pretty sure they could have gotten the point of act 3 & 4 across in one act, felt drawn out in a lot of ways. or maybe it still could have been 2 acts but they could have presented the story a bit differently idk.
again just felt like nothing substantial even happened, maybe they could have spent more time alluding to the forbidden zone bc honestly outside of lyney being interested in it we as an audience didn't really care much about it even though it was kinda super fucking important
also when wrio led us down there i was like we just had beef with him why are you guys trusting this dude to follow him into an unknown location so soon
they spent a reaaaaally long time on the hidden rules and it was just like random shit wriothesley sigewinne and that one company were up to? like that was honestly such a weak reveal why do we care about any of that
like maybe to play up how good wriothesley is at misdirecting and how he was ahead of the game the whole time? but it still didn't really work
in general genshin has never been good at showing characters are intelligent they just want to tell us they are. they did good with arlecchino though but I might just be extremely biased considering my infatuation with her
that being said not sure how I felt about them just dumping all of her motives in flashbacks at the end there (her assassin fit though.... swooning)
but they've got the setup down hopefully the last acts pull their weight (i forgot how many acts fontaine is gonna have... 5?)

I MISSED YOU SO MUCH HELLO!!!!!!! MY TRIP WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN we went hiking twice, went to the park a lot, took lots of walks, ate out almost every night lol, i got to cook my friends dinner one night and everyone said it was really good, i was so flattered ;-;. and we went to the bar one night and one of my friends threw up on the side of a building lol, and we went INTO THE MOUNTAINS!!!! i wasnt sure if we were gonna go up there bc we were more around denver and loveland but im so happy we got to go bc i love it up there. there were so many animals!! deer chipmunks rabbits elk it was crazy!!! OH and we went to the museum in denver and saw dinosaur bones, IT WAS SOOOOO COOL I FUCKING LOVE DINOSAUR BONES!!!!!! okay i'll stop screaming now but im so excited im still riding the high of this trip literally lol colorado weed is crazy you guys.
im so glad to be home though, i cant wait to play bg3 for the rest of the night ha. thank u for the niceness ilysm i missed u <3

so like obviously i have no spoons ever at all anymore because my life is in shambles but things have been looking up enough lately that i've cycled back to my semi-annual obsession with pokemon. its always there in the background don't get me wrong but at times like now i have the spoons to poke at things.
also my good friend tv writes the most wonderful pokemon fic (read eldritch and zonnia especially zonnia the more people love on zonnia the closer i get to finding out what the fuck is in the ocean over there) and their worldbuilding is just so fucking inspiring. i just said a lot about zonnia but tv is literally creating a whole pokemon biosphere and it fills me with joy and also thoughts
have you ever wondered why humans can't go in a pokeball? i know somewhere in the lore there's been legends that like humans and pokemon diverged from a single ancestor but i genuinely don't think that's right. i think i have a fair case to make that humans are not originally from the dimension that pokemon live in.
why do i think this? well let me lay out my conspiracy string web for you
pardon my thoughts for jumping around i have had a long day and i am very tired. this is basically nothing but wordvomit but its word vomit that i love turning in my head
so i've been putting together a timeline of pokemon history for reasons and things. i really wanted to know about all of the most mega massive historical events, especially regarding the clashes of the titans. there's a gap between "arceus creates the universe" and "humans are first mentioned" that is very interesting to me.
there is evidence of cyclical rise and fall of civilizations. ancient ruins, ancient technology, ancient writing. ancient submarine. archeologists in the pokemon world must have so much fun. what this means to me is that every so often either humans destroy themselves or the legendaries rise up and destroy just enough of everything that civilizations are reduced to survival instead of thriving again.
i recently read a book called nightfall by good ol sci fi man isaac asimov; basic pretense is that the world is constantly lit by a combination of six suns but every few thousand years the suns align perfectly to deprive half the world of light for 24 hours (like a normal day night cycle here). everyone who looks at the stars goes fucking nuts. ever been out in the country and looked up at the sky and had so much existential dread and felt like you were falling up into the sky? no? just me? okay anyway what i was saying is that everyone went fucking insane and destroyed everything, except for a few people that managed to avoid the sky and the insanity by like locking themselves in a room or whatever.
this isn’t a perfect 1-1 obviously but we have sooooooooooooo many documented instances of legendaries and mythical pokemon just breaking so much shit all the time
now:
the games are very adamant that you are a child. the lore is very adamant that pokemon who do not wish to be caught, will not be caught with your standard pokeballs (which is all you are ever provided, aside from the master ball, which is a fuckery i can’t get into at the moment). you as a child are able to catch titans and legendaries and the being who fucking created the universe. arceus sends you as a child 300 years into the past to fix an issue someone else made.
this is where the strings get tenuous but that’s okay this is my sandbox and i get to play in it
there has to be a reason for it, right? that legendaries come under the care of children. that legendaries allow themselves to be caught and partnered with adolescents.
aside for a moment:
so what i mainly want to focus on eventually is that 3000 years ago two specific momentous things occured.
1) the Kalos war (which i need to read up on more)
2) the darkest day (which i also need to read up on more to make sure my facts for both are correct)
now there may have been a few years in between these events but in the timeline of things thats inconsequential.
there are also instances of humans eventually turning into pokemon (see: ghost pokemon etc) and a lot of ghost pokemon lore is tied into humanity too. i think that maybe a few million few hundred thousand few tens of thousands of years ago ghost pokemon might not have been a thing, or might have been suuuuuuper rare. notably for this is claydol, which, also notably, was created around the same time that eternatus lands.
eternatus is very incredibly extremely palpably not from this world. so not from this world that its existence in galar has lead to some extreme fuckery. the ability to dynamax, for one. gigantamaxing, too; i think its eevee pikachu and meowth that can gigantamax? and if they have the ability they are no longer able to evolve. eternatus can control the ability to dynamax, either forcing it onto pokemon or keeping them from dynamaxing. this is because the ability to dynamax comes from basically tiny shed particles of its body saturating the land. you come into contact with one of those pieces almost immediately in game and can then dynamax your pokemon.
you can’t dynamax a human.
even the horrid poison dragon from out of space can dynamax. everything down to the littlest caterpie can dynamax.
but humans cant.
humans have been on the earth for millions of years at that point. they’ve evolved and adapted the same way other pokemon have done so. but they’re still completely unaffected by this one thing that affects every single pokemon in the region.
isn’t that funny? isn’t that curious.
tl;dr i posit that arceus brought humans into this universe for legendaries to use as proxies so they didn’t keep fucking destroying the world every so often. yeah sometimes they still do but its a much lower instance than it could be

I haven’t written much atm cuz my little sister and her husband just bought a house AND she’s due to pop a baby out literally any day now (should be Sunday, but the midwife said that she’s at 40wks development and not 39 so I might become an aunt waaaaaay earlier than expected ahahah!!) and AND… she literally has like ten cats and also her dog, so between baby and moving her house at the same time about an hour and a half away, I’ve had many older sister emotions and duties I’ve been seeing to, and then I’ll be helping once the baby is born, so I don’t know what my free time looks like atm but I AM hankering to write XD on that note, I am actively thinking about/sometimes adding lines to an omegaverse Stranger Things fic I’ve been asked about (I haven’t seen past season 2 but my dash has been CONTENT lemme tell ya… do I ship the thing? I ship the thing XD) but I’m also not committing to that before I know I can do it properly XD BUT after that, yes yes anon! I’ll reblog my commission post thing when I’m ready-ready :)

ok uhm. anyways so in onmyoji i’m almost at level 59 which im super happy abt! I just hit 200 days iirc so i think thats p good progress, esp being in a v small guild w just friends. i love this guild sm but holy shit growing an acct in a tiny guild is hard. anyways . look at my sps
my pride and joy in this game is that i’ve managed to get TWO sp ubumes like. im shaking still just thinking about it. i love her so much. bt um. out of all my sps, only 1 ubume, shuten, and ootake are fullskilled it’s so bad. sp yama was my first sp and he still doesn’t have a single daruma in him…… child neglect. BUT !! i just got sp kingyo a couple days ago and im sooooooooooooo happy i love her so much shes the only sp i ever planned on sharding <3 she and kani-hime occupy my brain 24/7 theyre my daughters. my sp ren,,, he just kind of sits there honestly. being gay and whatever. miketsu sits there and activates my lesbianism but also does nothing outside of that. rn my skill plan is 12 to yama, 8 to kingyo, 12 to menreiki, and then start on my poor neglected ssrs, same priority w g6ing (ignoring the fact that i splurge g6d sp kingyo in a moment of weakness. a terrible decision but i stand by it). soul set wise,,,,,, i want to cry when i think abt their souls theyre genuinely so ugly it’s unreal. i have maybe two good souls and they just switch between whatever shiki im using at the time. i need to get off shadow souls so bad bro like literally all i use is shadow. im gonna try branching out to moving some shiki onto fortune cat, seductress, and fenikkusu, but I ,,, Dont Want To. OH ALSO LMAO I FORGOT ….. MENREIKI. so her event is going on rn, her sp JUST got released, and i got her on my 20th pull! I got a great haul this time with only 60 amus, im so happy mwah mwah rng gods kissing my forehead gently. anyways i finnaallly got a good dedicated puller, and she has a second life form!!! which fucks SO hard considering my teams main shiranui and sp ootake solely for their second forms. i love them so much theyre so fun. i cant wait to add sp menreiki into the mix in place of kamaitachi and make the most headache inducing realm raid team
but anyways. look at my ssrs.
here r my beloveds (sans ubume!). shiranui, kinnara, and enmusubi my loves <3 i will lay down my life for them. kinna, shira, orochi, and enmu are all fullskill, and once im done g6ing my sps im upgrading enmusubi and haku! those 5 r the only ones i use,, i definitely need to start using some more ssrs like menreiki, ootake, and higan, but im too poor to build them. ive had menreiki foreeeverr now, im planning on running her w dps sputen just to fuck with people, but shes completely unbuilt it’s so sad. that team is gonna be such a mess im planning on running the dps as menreiki, sputen, and shiranui. maybe kaguya and kamaitachi as supp once i shard kaguya. i will def lose most of the pvp i fight w that lineup but it wld also be so fucking funny to just bring a speeder/supp lineup that looks like a massive headache with looping but just put them on tanky slow dps builds. BUT! In the recent sp menreiki event, i got a bunch of new uncollecteds!!! i finally sharded hakuzosu (pls. pls his new skin is genuinely so…. god he deserves better), but i got ungaikyo from the frog collection scroll and miss suzuka gozen from the event scroll!! im soooo excited abt them, despite them being at the bottom of the ladder in building priority alksjflskjf. i desperately need ungaikyo to carry in a couple secret zones, but ill j have to wait a couple months until the shiki first in line are built. i dont rly have a use for suzuka atm, but i love her so much that i was gonna shard her right after kaguya :) because i have no fucking good orbers help me. but! in the event summons, i got a couple ssrs there too. uncollected was just ssr shuten, but i got dupe ibaraki, yoto-hime, and kinnara, all of which sans miss kinnara promptly got sold off to the shrine to feed hakuzosu. I have no use for double kinnara. I am building her regardless. i am in love with her
anyways im Planning on sharding kaguya and senhime. I just finished sharding haku, so i put feeding my sp yama on halt to get the lil fox boy up and running. I also rly need an orber that isnt oitsuki, so im gonna grab kaguya but im not v excited abt it. I definitely want senhime waaay moret but ,,, sadly orbs come first.

OKAY I HAVE TO STOP SOMEWHERE LMAO anyway uhhhh AJ Dalton headcanons time. Disclaimer these are just my incredible(?) opinions based on the literal crumbs the show provided and yes there are pairing biases all over the place. sorry, I’m beyond help. Also it’s been 80 years since I watched any of AJ’s episodes aside from Deep Freeze so... lmao
AJ Dalton is not dumb. Okay, he kind of is, but there are different types of intelligence and he can be dumb in some ways and smart in others. Have you seen Legally Blonde? Legend.
He’s just... well, really excitable. And he loves fun! And it just so happens that ‘fun’ and ‘dangerous as fuck’ mean the same thing to him. So yeah, he gets why people might look at that and think, “Oh, this boy’s dumb as hell.”
Elaborating on that first point though LMAO, imo AJ is super emotionally intelligent. Really good at reading people and really really good at seeing the potential in others that even they might not see about themselves. Remember when Stanford was like ‘abluuuhh I have no traction in this ice tunnel’ and was probably close to a freak-out and AJ was like ‘chill dude these guys suck even more’ and you know what it was a small thing but it grounded Stanford and let him come up with a solution and that’s what I’m talking about
also I think it’d be really neat if AJ and Stanford kissed like on the mouth. that’s not a headcanon that’s just what I wanna see
(I just think it’s so cute you can tell AJ took an instant shine to Stanford. Stanford WHAT are you going to do about it.)
anyway. AJ is so excitable, in it for the thrills and because Vert asked him to, but also somehow so laid back and thoughtful and chill all the time?? Always ready to help, SO helpful even when he’s SO not?? I kiss on the forehead.

At a glance, gray has traits that I wouldn’t associate with him at all but I also think it’s unrealistic to expect each person to fully match their suit color. Sage is doing her best out here.)
Would die for Vert no problem. No hesitation dude. (I feel like he does a lot of things without hesitation, the man’s insane.) If it’s him or Vert, it’s gonna be him. ALSO ON THAT NOTE AJ is pretty damn impulsive, but it seems like he’s got the... idk I don’t know if “street smarts” is the right word for it but he’s got the know-how to adapt and overcome when needed. That being said, it’s one thing for him to be in an ice place versus... a hot desert or volcano. My mans might not be so helpful there, so it may just be him being incredibly used to the ice and snow and so he can really shine there. But I think with his fearless personality, he’d adapt either way.
AJ being incredibly protective of Vert. If you are genuinely mean to Vert and hurt his feelings he is gonna find out :) and he is gonna talk to you about it :)

I’ve said it before but I just thought it was so neat how AJ came up with the solution to those weird monsters in the ice caves. Like on the fly he just... solved the problem. They showed that he’s buckwild and loves fun and loves danger but at the same time his solution to the problem was to think about it in a calm and cool way. (Meanwhile Tezz is always like “how about I beat the enemy’s ass with my bare hands” and Vert’s like “NO okay yes”)
that being said I think we all know that AJ. Is not a genius LMAO. But I think he can read a situation and he just has no problem staying calm which lets him think outside the box without panicking. That, and he’s not afraid to dive right in, kind of a fuck-around-and-find-out attitude. It’s not so much approaching it in a “facts-based-logical-way” like Tezz but more like “I think this would work based on what I’ve seen, I’ve got a strong hunch and we may as well try it” way. Tezz would get so pissed about it if he weren’t literally getting emotional and throwing his ragdoll body into enemy fire at every opportunity. Actually, Tezz does still get pissed about it but he knows deep down that he’s being a hypocrite. It’s fine.
AJ = silly, fun-loving, but somehow calm and collected at the same time.
Tezz = serious, uptight, logical until he’s not because he’s HELLA emotional and hot-headed he just doesn’t want anyone to know this. Nice try king AJ sees you. They all see you.
sorry I can’t help but compare them because the parallels are so amazing and they are both in the “we came in during season 2 so they had to try to cram as much character development into us as possible in like five episodes” situation
I really feel like nobody can hide their feelings from AJ.

I don’t think AJ would ever actually beat someone up (I mean never say never but like. He’s not gonna fight your dad, Vert) but I think he would be REALLY disappointed in Jack if he didn’t immediately step up to mend his relationship with Vert.
I think about Vert going to the Yukon a lot. If he’s 18 in the series that means he was pretty young (16 maybe?) when he went and met AJ. I think they bonded because they both love extreme sports, but I also think AJ recognized pretty quickly that Vert was not only hurting inside but really just throwing himself into the dangerous sports. AJ does it for the thrill and for the fun, but I just think... I really just think Vert had so much anger when he went there and he was trying to distract himself from it all so he didn’t have to confront it. I think AJ saw that Vert could really hurt himself if he kept going down that kind of path.
Thankfully, AJ is such a good friend and all-around a good guy. AJ sees the potential in people. He's observant, too. He notices how they’re feeling and he can say the right thing to make it better. Sure, he likes to joke and tease people but AJ knows when to turn that off, when someone really needs his shoulder. I think AJ took Vert under his wing and they became really fast friends, which gave Vert a healthy outlet for his pent-up feelings. Maybe meeting AJ In the Yukon was a huuuge turning point for Vert and helped shape him to be the calm leader he is now.
In summary yes vert he loves you SO much. Vert talks about how lucky he is to have AJ as his friend but AJ’s thinking no dude... I am the lucky one dude....... :’)
SO ANYWAY YES JACK HE KNOWS YOUR HISTORY LMAO. I mean, once he realizes you got kidnapped in space he’ll have some sympathy but he also has heard... about how you were... before the space kidnapping so like. Step up your fucking game.
Anyway I could talk about Vert and my entirely made up assumptions about him for days but this ain’t about him
AJ pretty much loves everyone unless they give him a reason not to. Yeah, even you, Mr. Wheeler. It’s just how he is. People immediately feel at ease around him until he starts bringing up sledding down the side of a cliff or extreme deep sea diving or some crazy shit.
I also think he’s really endearing to everyone else. Except Tezz kind of wants to fight him but only because AJ teases him. Tezz loves him, too, just... in his own way. It’s hard to deal with such unabashed kindness when you’re all messed up from being in complete isolation for so many years, man!!! AJ knows that being dumb about it helps lighten the mood and probably makes Tezz less uncomfortable around him. He’ll come around. They always do.
I just feel like people gravitate toward AJ when they’re feeling low and he lets them talk it out. Then he spouts some random, helpful wisdom and they’re like tf you just say and why do I feel better now
Vert: THAT’S MY BEST FRIEND
AJ knows people think he’s dumb as bricks. It’s okay. He’s got nothing to prove because he knows who he is and he knows his friends love him. And, you know, he IS kinda dumb. Just like how Tezz is kinda dumb, and Sherman, and Agura, etc. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses and AJ prefers to focus on each person’s individual talents instead of bringing them down or putting them all in a box.
(AJ also knows a traumatized person when he sees one so he’s NOTHING but patient with people like Tezz and never takes it personally when Tezz says something snarky. God AJ I just love you dude.)
Let’s not forget that AJ loves fun and doing fun things and thinks dangerous stuff is SO fucking fun and that tends to override everything else until the situation gets serious.
I feel like I wrote a ton about how AJ is some secret wise feller but what I was trying to say is that AJ has a ton of potential and I just think it takes a special kind of person to completely present as one way and then turn people on their head when you open your mouth and wisdom just comes out effortlessly. Of course he’s a thrill-seeking silly little man. But he’s also smart and observant and kind, and I think AJ is really fearless and brave too so like, you really have to keep an eye on that guy in the battlezones.
sometimes he jumps in knowing the risks and odds of survival because that’s what he’s gotta do. sometimes he jumps in thinking OOH YEP THIS IS GONNA BE FUN AS HELL. the duality of man.

ok trek dump of recent thoughts
- i really cant remember much about the reckoning, as an episode - except for... well. its just, its so strange. it FELT like what happened in there should have been important but it really didnt feel like much to me. and again ive said it before- but it IS such a shame, bc i really, really do want them to explore bajor and the prophets more, and do them a good service, but... ehhh id otn know.
- i really, liked valiant though. nog and jake centred eps, i feel, are actually generally some favourites- theyre both VERY lovable, you know, but also... realistic, in a very specific way? familiar. like ive said before: theyve really NAILED writing characters that are of that age, as most stuff either makes them too stupid or too mature and i think theyre the right level of very component dumbass pieces of shit. and i think their faults really just... help realise
- that being said i wouldnt even consider valiant a nog and jake story necessarily. obviously it is about them, and they are important but yo uknow like... i just really like that they revisited red squadron. on so many different levels. like, not only does this kind of pull back the curtain on starfleet itself- the fact that yes, babe, it IS a military ... and obviously that has been approached during the run of ds9 a lot already, but this explores... that whole other gross aspect of how predatory and brainwashing it is. these, like, kids (i mean? young adults- i would assume theyre MY ageish, at oldest which not right at all there babe) being so willing to die. and moreover its also like...
- ok im not going to engage in wesleydiscourse bc honestly this isnt abt him but OK LET ME. let me touch on it a LITTLE. gifted kid narratives in stories... i very rarely like them , and sorryyyyy for the amount of talk im abt to do abt gifted kid syndrome etc. etc. bc i KNOW!! BITCH, i know, but like... see the thing is: in principle i dont hate the idea of exploring, like, extremely gifted and young individuals. but the writing never... does it right. there was a lot of that with wesley in early tng- WHICH, by the way? its one of the reasons why i do like to defend this little guy (other than the fact i think ppl are fucking WEIRD) bc like. i really do not think wesley himself was annoying but instead it was literally. all of the early tng writing which sucked so fucking badly.
and i think with lots of "gifted children" characters they weirdly infantalise them but also jsut. make them totally infallible in the weirdest fucking ways. like i said: early tng is written soooo rough, babe... but i remember there were so many episodes where characters would just be bent out of shape and written to act stupid as hell, so that wesley can do the smart thing. which is like. again i see why people are then annoyed at wesley in that case but frankly. it jsut doesnt... READ right at all like. you just made everyone kinda frustrating to watch in this episode. if you WANT wesley to save the day theres more elegant ways to do this than just... screwing over everyone but ok. its like you have to be more balanced with your approach here my love.
(and it was most egregious with wes, but frankly- hell... theres lots of picard instances, too, in tng that kinda just make me roll my eyes. where its like- the ENTIRE episode plot will not include picard at all. it will be narratively unsatisfying for him to conclude the episode's issue, rather than the people actually involved who have DONE all of the legwork todeal with the situation, and wherein it would actually MEAN something if they get to do the resolution. but then they just.... randomly bring in picard to do a speech to end the episode anyways. and its like i get it hes the captain, you want him to look sooooooooooooo competent- but i literally... do not want to see that bald cunt right now. its like its just SLOPPY you know bc if you want to have that moment of picard making a speech, then write the context for it? actually build it up? dont jsut... randomly slap it in like my goodness gracious. bc again ur just... robbing other characters and doing him himself a disservice bc ur just kinda. making it more irritating than anything anyways OMG)
omg im getting sooo off topic and anyways its WHY i liked wesley a hell of a lot more in later stories, his last one with the traveller notwithstanding (as they... literally went back to insisting he was oh so special just? for no reason!? i guess??? and putting him on a weird pedestal- which is so... contrary to what they'd done more recently). bc its never HIM who was irritating but literally. tng incompetence early on. LIKE, for example!? his run-in at starfleet academy, where he almost got expelled... that was literally my favourite wesley ep i think. like i WANTthat you know. i wanna see a little guy whos very clever and talented and does have a good heart- like give it to me, baby.... but i want you to actually write me a character whos living that life rather than writing an episode around a character whos just that if that literally makes any sense.

but yeah . thats what a lot of these cadets also really felt like. where they are all clearly extremely gifted and intelligent and wonderful kids but also... very fallible in their own rights. and i think its also like- theres a self awareness here that i also really appreciate and its actually ok.

1. the key themes of this episode have been done way better by other episodes of trek;
2. the extremely weak writing between the o'briens as a unit makes this really hard for me to care, because like you quite literally just ship keiko and molly and yoshi off constantly like... frankly i really was just expecting them to leave molly in the past like that and for there to be no fucking bearing on miles or the rest of the show... bc i literally do not think there would be even if you did that;
3. and theres just some decisions in here that jsut... dont WORK you know? worf trying to bond with yoshi- oh thats ehrm. sweet. and it does git with this ep i guess but like?a very horrifying thing has happened and it just- it feels like... cant we focus on that. this is another one of those eps where it WOULD be hardhitting if you cut out the B-plot. even if its thematically relevant it jsut... i really would rather focus on the pretty horrific thing thats just gone on and its also like. ahhghmmeerr ok hang on not and lasty bc;
4. and LASTLY it just feels like. hm. ok im going to be honest im very autistic and i have issues so osmeitmes i just get confused but it jsut... feels like the way people were reacting to this situation!? were NOT .... NORMAL.... !? like i like that keiko got frustrated- that makes sense that they wouldnt totally understand molly but its also like... nmy ggod it felt like they so easily and readily accepted that this happened to her. i know you guys are adjusted to trauma but- you guys seemed kinda calm1? and then so easily decided to let her go back and i think thats like. again a consequence of the above point wherein i feel like you werent really immersing us in this and its just a matter of execution AND also the second point but it sjsut i dont know... i just feel like i did not care my love. and i should of my goodness me. like i would have liked better focus on the strain and- the actual consequences of this rather than just... a very superficial look at how molly is acting like. i dont know but its also very hard to do that with molly and keiko because uhm. like i said you really havent built proper characters to work with, have you hmmm? have you ds9!? noo yiu havent! <3

So y’all first met on the first floor, ya’know (where the reduce 400 ppl to 200 thing happened).
And this happened before meeting Khun.
As bam stood up, he noticed a dude, coming up to stab him (this mother fuc-) and on instinct, he held up ‘his’ needle, closing his eyes shut.
But instead of his head falling off, he heard “BITCHHHHHHHH-“ and the sound of a body dropping towards the ground.
To see what the commotion was about, he opened his eyes and saw-
Oh god.
Love at first sight is real.
He saw your gorgeous figure, veiled with sunlight as-
“Fuckin’ Hell! Do you realise how rude you are? Who the fuck steals someone’s shit when they’re sleeping? HUH?? ㅗㅗ”

“Hm? I didn’t save you for shit. It‘s just that this asshole, stole my shit so I decided to fuck him up.”

By the time he collected his thoughts and tried to talk to you again, you were already walking off, too far away to hear him.
The second time he met you, was during lunch after the crown game.
Since you were a fishermen, and because of that,you were kinda friends with Endorossi (her reason being you’re ‘pretty’ (if you’re a dude, you were pretty so she made the exception.) but added “Not as much as me”)
When Bam saw you, his eyes literally lit up with joy, running over to where you were.
“Do you remember me?”
“?? The fuck, who?”
You swore that he had imaginary dog ears deflating towards the ground.
“Oh. You’re the boy from last week, right? On the first test.”
“Yeah! I am! You remembered me! Hehe”
Bam, being Bam, had no sense of personal space or communication, so he leaned up, quite close to your face.
Which you responded with immediately standing up, walking away, but Bam failed to noticed the rising blush on your face and ears.
He really, REALLY wanted to talk to you, get to know you, and all that bonding stuff, yet you were either always occupied or just gone.
And since he didn’t really know how to get to know you, he decided to wing it, although he knew how risky that was.
So the next day, he was going through his normal routine, as well as trying to find you.
But surprise surprise,
He let out a small yelp as he was pulled to a corner, by his collar.
And when he looked up/down (idk how tall y’all are) he saw you. Oh wait. You? YOU???? OH SHIT! He was NOT ready for this!! He didn’t see this coming. Um. What to do now? He didn’t want to embara-
“Oi. I’ve snap out of it!”
Well that definetly worked.
“Why the fuck were you following me this whole week?? You a fuckin’ creep or some shit?”
“No I-“
“Don’t wanna hear it, just leave me alone”
“Wait-!”
When you took a sharp turn to leave, he pulled you by the arm, putting you back in place, but calming yourself, you asked him what the fuck his problem was.
“I-.. Uh.. Hmmmm. I just-“
“Get to the point already!”
“I want to get to know you!!”
“Wha-“
That’s when Bam thought he fucked up but according to your red-as-fuck face and a fluster expression, he decided that maybe you didn’t hate him as much as he thought.
“T-Then you should have just talked to be instead of following me around, dumbass!!”
“But I didn’t know how..”
“...Tch, fine”
So that’s how y’all became uh.. friends. Yeh. JK, y’all have a fuckin crush crush, its adorableeeeee. :D

Ranking the Sonic Forces’ Avatar songs
Well, I blasted Classic Sonic’s music not too long ago, so I feel like I should write something positive about Forces for a change, and what better thing to write about than the Avatar songs, arguably the thing that carried the game the most for me.

The first Avatar song we knew of, probably the best banger to introduce someone to this game.
