I find it frustrating that you assume I’m seeking attention and refuse to earnestly engage with my feelings when I say I don’t wanna vote for the guy who is actively helping Israel commit genocide. Also, as a disabled person like me, why aren’t you mad at him for pretending the pandemic is over and removing all covid mitigations and making society unsafe for us?
if you're voting for Cornel West, you're voting for whoever Harlan Crow wants you to vote for. If you're voting for Jill Stein, you're voting for whoever Vladimir Putin wants you to vote for. Either way, it's nonsensical and useless. My first election was 2000, go read the wikipedia article about Florida and Ralph Nader, it's not my fucking job to educate you on the meaning of a third party candidate in an electoral system that is a Single Member District Plurality.
As a disabled person on Social Security and living in the bottom quintile of this economy, the Biden Administration has made my life MARKEDLY better. Medicare improvements alone have been a revelation. I now have so much more money in my pocket, no copays on my medications or any of my doctor visits ever, my food stamps have gone up. We are the only major economy in the west that is experiencing economy growth.
Biden has been dealing with a 50-50 Senate and has accomplished more than Obama did with a Supermajority in 8 years. I'm sorry that you probably learned about foreign policy three months ago, but if you think literally anyone else who has a snowball's chance in fucking hell will be better for Palestine, you are delulu as all fuck. Biden is not helping commit genocide, you are spouting internet catchphrases. Biden is not even on speaking terms with Netanyahu at the moment. Blinken has been repeatedly pressuring Israel to pause the fighting because Americans are being held hostage in Gaza. You speak like someone who learns literally all of their information from social media.
You're disabled like me, why are you giving away your country to fascism for one foreign policy issue you probably barely understand and literally no other viable candidate will be to the left of Biden on? Do you think Trump, who your vote will actively assist, will be any better? The guy who literally moved the American embassy in Israel to Palestine in a move designed to be deliberately provocative to Palestine? That Donald Trump?
Assume Biden literally told Netanyahu to stop. Netanyahu would not stop. It would not happen. We have not approved any aid to Israel, even, because guess what: Congress hasn't approved anything whatsoever.
And that is more words than I have been willing to give to anyone who responds to this post because in 2016 I gave a lot of words to people who ended up being Russian psyops agents, and I am tired.
But hey, vote for Jill Stein. Women dying in Texas of miscarriages going septic clearly mean fucking nothing to you, as long as you can keep your Internet Moral Purity Fad Of The Moment.
edit: re Covid that was a global loss and it sucks and I have no Immune B cells and I don't go out anymore but that is hardly uniquely American. Everywhere is pretending it's over. no one cares about sick people anywhere. anyway grow up and realize the world is complicated and if you're a single issue voter like this you are cutting off your nose to spite your face

Your post about how many people are unknowingly falling for & spreading propaganda... yeah. I typed up a whole spiel of a comment on one of your posts the other day that I ended up deciding not to not actually post because it felt like detailing, but seriously. The amount of well meaning, genuinely anti-zionist people ignorantly sharing zionists' posts because they just don't pick up on the leading undertones is honestly more terrifying than than the amount of actual zionists in some ways.
I'm someone who was born into a doomsday cult, and seeing all these people falling for the exact same blatant (or so i thought lol) recruitment/manipulation tactics I've seen used by them my entire life has absolutely fucking terrifying. These are people who are actively trying to combat zionism, but I guess the general public is so uneducated about propaganda/cult tactics that what immediately reads as blatantly manipulative, misleading bullshit to me just doesn't even register as strange to most people. Not to be repetitive, but seriously: fucking terrifying.
There's so much focus on the way people/groups who want to manipulate you will use language of fear, but in this case especially, people need to realize they will almost always appeal to your compassion before they appeal to your fear.
It's all peace and love and happiness because that's what gets people in the door. You preach (or post) the mushy, happy, fun stuff that makes people feel good to draw them in, and you slowly start peppering in the ideas you actually want to lead them to believe later on once you've got them wanting to believe you.
This also has this added effect of helping the group or person's image. Even the people who you don't manage to draw in will have the impression of you as someone who runs their mouth 24/7 about how you're full of love and want the best for everyone, which is especially useful for when you inevitably want to frame yourself as the victim to demonize the people who will inevitably oppose you. If your first and only exposure to a person is seeing them calling for world peace and universal love, you are much more likely to be inclined to believe they (and by extension their cause) are the sympathetic, loving, peaceful good guys being unjustly targeted.
Sorry for rambling, but like... really. It won't always be something nefarious, of course--the vast majority of the the time, it won't be--but I think we would all be in a much better situation if people took it as a general rule of thumb that you should always be a little suspicious of overly vague talk about peace and love.
You're EXACTLY right. I really appreciate this message, because you put to words a lot of my inherent analysis of arguments and ideas. I like grew up with this rhetoric so it's easy to spot for me, but the way that people speak about "peace" as the overall goal when they're zionist is so blatant to me because there is no material change in the scenario they propose but rather a calmness where Palestinians are ignored.
And picking up on subtext of a lot of messages is something you have to have a muscle for kinda because of how subtle it is. The frightening part is, you're right, that the indoctrination part of zionism is the most harmful part because you appeal to their pathos — their fear, their sense of safety, etc — and you go on down the rabbit hole and slowly start being radicalized and pro-zionism or you might not even be pro-zionism 100% but enjoy... soft zionism as a mutual of mine put it once (if you read this and want to be tagged, lmk). Which soft zionism is the MAIN opinion in many liberal circles btw, its not an uncommon opinion.
I even remember once sharing a post by a zionist because i saw them talk about esims but when i went on their blog a few days later because something rubbed me the wrong way, I noticed their pinned and I was like "oh dam I gotta delete that other post" like that's how often this happens.
Idk, I try to combat this by putting sources or approaching from a standpoint of logical arguments rather than identity-based politics (although, sometimes i think there are some things that people who are a certain identity can be the only true experts on) so that I try to encourage actual engagement with ideas and walking them through thought processes rather than "I'm palestinian so just trust me."
Like even with my one fact checking list, idk if I succeeded but I wanted to emphasize that there are multiple factors you should consider when confronting ANY sort of information and should not blindly trust things. News sources have regularly burned or ignored Palestinians so I know a lot of us are really sensitive to these things, but I don't know! I hope people can engage with ideas more than just surface level thinking in general because it helps everyone when you actually interact with the point of view the other person is providing rather than just blindly trusting/distrusting people.

Kinda sucks that my blog doesn’t reflect how I feel. I mostly reblog or post about Israel and antisemitism because there’s just not enough of those posts here, but that’s not what I want my blog to be about. (also I’d have liked to post more Palestinian voices but too often when I’m about to reblog something I realise that the person who posted it hates me passionately:)
I guess I got into the habit of posting out of worry. I worry about the hostages, about jews in the diaspora facing antisemitism, about the deaths and destruction in gaza, but right now I mostly worry about the future of my home which has become so so full of hatred from every direction.
wish I could make my blog be about love and compassion tbh

I do recommend watching the whole thing but here is a clip from Rev. Munther Isaac's Christmas sermon entitled 'Jesus under the rubble', delivered in Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank on Saturday.
Transcript under the cut:
This war has confirmed to us that the world does not see us as equal. Maybe it's the colour of our skins. Maybe it is because we are on the wrong side of a political equation. Even our kinship in Christ did not shield us.
So they say, "if it takes killing 100 Palestinians to get a single Hamas militant then so be it". We are not humans in their eyes. But in God's eyes, no one can tell us that.
The hypocrisy and racism of the Western World is transparent and appalling. They always take the word of Palestinians with suspicion and qualification. No, we not treated equally. Yet on the other side, despite a clear track record of misinformation, lies, their words are almost always deemed infallible.
To our European friends: I never, ever want to hear you lecture us on human rights or international law again. And I mean this. We are not White. I guess it does not apply to us according to your own logic.
So here is my message: Gaza today has become the moral compass of the world. Gaza was held before October 7th and the world was silent. Should we be surprised that they're silent now? If you are not appalled by what is happening in Gaza, if you are not shaken to your core, there is something wrong with your humanity. And if we as Christians are not outraged by the genocide, by the weaponization of the Bible to justify it, there is something wrong with our Christian witness and we are compromising the credibility of our Gospel message.
If you fail to call this a genocide then that is on you. It is a sin and a darkness you willingly embrace. Some have not even called for a ceasefire - I'm talking about churches. I feel sorry for you.
We will be okay. Despite the immense blow we have endured, we the Palestinians will recover. We will rise. We will stand up again from the midst of destruction as we have always done as Palestinians - although this is by far maybe the biggest blow we have received in a long time. But we will be okay.
But for those who are complicit, I feel sorry for you. Will you ever recover from this? Your charity and your words of shock after the genocide won't make a difference. And I know these words of shock are coming, and I know people will give generously for charity. But your words won't make a difference. Words of regret won't suffice for you.
And let me say it: we will not accept your apology after the genocide. What has been done has been done. I want you to look at the mirror and ask: where was I when Gaza was going through a genocide?

Hey, I'm sure you've been inundated with hateful messages since a fairly large blog pointed you out as a proud zionist. I don't think that's helpful for anyone and it speaks poorly of those who sent it. I'd like to ask you some questions though, and I won't call on you to answer them publicly but you may wish to reflect on them in private.
First, do you believe all the citizens of Palestine are guilty for what Hamas has done? If so, I might ask you why collective punishment was outlawed under the Geneva convention.
Second, why did the Israeli government need to make up a story about 40 beheaded babies, and why is that now debunked story worth so much more than the babies that have been killed by bombs or starved to death in Gaza now?
Third, why might the people of Gaza support Hamas? Even if you believe every single Palestinian does, why would such an awful terrorist group be so popular? Do you believe it is because they are just savages, frothing at the mouth to kill Jews and queers?
Fourth, what justifies the Nakba of the last century, the killing and displacement of 750,000 people?
Fifth, what of the documented cases going back decades of Israeli soldiers killing journalists, medics, and peaceful protesters, including non-Palestinians like Rachel Corrie? Why do you think she protested so vehemently?
Sixth, if you believe Israel has the right to reclaim the homeland of two thousand years ago, do you believe Native Americans have the right to violently take the land of the USA?
Finally, why do you think the Israeli organization Breaking the Silence exists, and what do their testimonies mean to you?
I see you enjoy Percy Jackson; those books were very dear to my heart when I was younger, specifically the messaging of compassion for others and standing up against unjust systems. There is no angry message that anyone could send that will make you change your mind, but I hope this, sent in good faith, might help you at least reflect.
Imma answer out of order, going from stuff that's related to the war, to stuff related to the conflict, to stuff pretty unrelated
Hey, I'm sure you've been inundated with hateful messages since a fairly large blog pointed you out as a proud zionist.
So that's what happened! that explains it, thanks
First, do you believe all the citizens of Palestine are guilty for what Hamas has done?
I guess you mean the civilian population as Hamas never declared independence. I do not consider them all guilty, but I consider many responsible, so let's break it down:
Guilty: any hamas memeber, any person who helps hamas (funds, weapon stashes, kindapee holding) and any person who volunteers or sends volunteers or incourage volunteers to serve as human sheidls. all of them are directly guilty
Responsable: reponsable is those who could have responded but don't. those who had information about the war and didn't share it with Israel, anybody who knows the location of kidnappees, terrorists or weapon stashes, etc.
The remaining, mostly children, are neither guilty nor responsible, and I am sorry they are in the crossfire. I wish hamas surrenders soon, but I am not very hopeful
why collective punishment was outlawed under the Geneva convention
collective punishment is outlawed because hurting those who aren't guilty is not okay, any child can tell you that. but this war isn't collective punishment. on the contrary: hamas members use the immence humanitarian support for the civilian population in gaza to remain afloat.
Second, why did the Israeli government need to make up a story about 40 beheaded babies
let's begin by saying that many babies were brutally murdered on Oct. 7, just so nobody gets any ideas
beheading specifically? well see, I was one of the people talking about the beheaded babies, so while I can't speak for my government, I can speak for myself
This was at a time things were pretty uncertain, and It wasn't clear what had and hadn't happened, and an esteemed journalist from abroad had made the claim, not the government, who only defended it. It felt like the horrors we saw were denied before we even got the moment to mourn for them. this is one of the few times in this war that Israel had shared false information, so I can see how one might get caught up on it, but this is 1 detail which was wrong, a few days after the horrific massecare.
babies that have been killed by bombs or starved to death in Gaza now?
I didn't see any proof for starvation, though I wouldn't be very surprised (even though gaza now gets almost twice as many humanitarian aid as it did on Oct. 6, much of the support goes to hamas, so maybe it did happen). About the bombs? I am not very glad about gazan babies and children dying by bomb strikes, but with all due respect, I prefer that the soliders we send into gaza stay alive than gazan children, so if a trapped house with a hamas base and a few children is standing, I prefer we bomb it than risk the lives of our soliders. you may disagree, that's an opinion, but I have friends in gaza at the moment, and I cannot go to another funeral, my heart has had enough
Third, why might the people of Gaza support Hamas? ... why would such an awful terrorist group be so popular?
For the same reason the rest of the arab world and some of the western world does: they kill jews. every time hamas does a terror attack, it's value in the polls skyrockets all over the middle east. they like to see dead jews. I genuinly wonder what other reason could it be in your mind? hamas and groups like it operated from before 1948, they are terrible for every infrastructure and chance for peace one might ever wish for, they call for the creation of a palestinian state on the entire land west of the jordan river, and for an Islamic caliphate, if you belive it's about land you understoon nothing
Even if you believe every single Palestinian does
Well, here is a poll from after Oct. 7
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
tell me yourself
Do you believe it is because they are just savages, frothing at the mouth to kill Jews and queers?
I do not think of them as savages, (hamas are worse than that, the rest are just misled by an awful culture that's filled to the brim with fundamental islamism), but yes, absolutly, they like hamas because they kill jews. they prefer them to fatah because fatah dares to talk with Israel. they support terrorist attacks, by the majority, they share candies when jews are slaughtered, yes, they like hamas because it is the main palestinian group killing jews.
Finally, why do you think the Israeli organization Breaking the Silence exists, and what do their testimonies mean to you?
This is the easiest question you could have given me, thank you. BTS, the extreme-left organization that supposedly devotes themselves to testemonies about IDF misconduct, are cowards.
I have seen their testemonies, and I have reviewd their cases, and I have 2 problems with them:
they generalize specific cases. one of their favorite stories is the story of how once a few soliders (I think in Hebron) were on duty on the time of the world cup, so they evacuated a family from their house for that day, confiscated their TV, and watched the game, what they tell you is that it's a common occourance, what they don't tell you is that It happened once, and the soliders were heavily (though not heavily enough) punished
they prefer to act as social justice warriors than doing the hard work. BTS has dozens of cases of solider misconduct, but many of them has never seen a court, military court or general court. they gather a bunch of evidence, and instead of acting as an increadible organization that keeps the sanctity of the weapon and take misbehaving soliders to court, they exagurate and publish those stories abroad, to get a pat on the back, give bs for antisemites to spew, and leave the soliders out in public. Instead of making both palestinians and israelis secure (because I don't want the guy who thought he can take sombody's home to watch the world cup to walk with me on the street either), they prefer getting a bit of praise from the enemies of the country and leave things be
>Sixth, if you believe Israel has the right to reclaim the homeland of two thousand years ago, do you believe Native Americans have the right to violently take the land of the USA?
That is less like '48 and more like the bar-cokhva revolt... there is an empire there and not an ungoverened body, the violence comes from the people and not the colonising force etc. but let's answer this quesiton anyway because of all of your questions, this one made me think the most
Yes and no. If the first people of the american continent wanted to reastablish governence they never had over empty streaches of land to have it, this is insane. But if the first people organized in a movement to reclaim some of the USA and establish independent states where they once lived, and at first tried a peaceful solution for years, I think I'd support their struggle, yes. That said, it would be suicidal. the time we tried to do something simmilar (the bar cochva revolt) it ended in 2000 years of diasporah, so while I'd support the cause, I'd not support a war against nuclear america, and neither would I support giving back times square or D.C, a settlement would have to be reached. I think many americans would support it as well, particularly from the left
Fourth, what justifies the Nakba of the last century, the killing and displacement of 750,000 people?
I think you were lied to about the nakba... the "nakba" is the event in which right after the establishment of Israel (the day after) a war broke out with 7 arab armies attacked the newform state. in this war, the arab leaders of the time told many arabs in the area to evacuate and return after the war is done and there are no more jews in Israel. in the mixed cities fights broke out, and the army that got there first expelled the population they didn't support (Hadera went jewish, Hebron went arab). lastly, a few (though very few) operations under plan D got arab out of their homes. remember: the jews in the entire arab world, including judea and sameria, got the same treatment, often worse. now for those so called "refugees" (calling the decendent of a person fleeing from a war he started and getting a foriegn ID or returning to live in the same land under a different governance "refugee" is absurd. by that defenition I am a judean-polish-czechoslovakian refugee, even though I was born here) that UNRWA talks about now? they don't have "a right to return" any more than a roman or greek person does. the latest coloniser thinks they can get special treatment. for their property? they can get compensation once the entirety of europe and MENA gives Israel the tens of bilions of dollars worth of property that was stolen from them in '39 and '48.
Fifth, what of the documented cases going back decades of Israeli soldiers killing journalists, medics
I have seen none, I have seen, many, MANY, cases though, of "medics" and "journalists" with guns and suicide bombers.
and peaceful protestors
whats peaceful to you? throwing rocks at soliders? many die from these attacks each year. crossing the border? that would get you arrested or killed in any country except in europe
Rachel Corrie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, I am sorry that she died, there certainly was a better way to deal with the situation. The supreme court of israel (which is very left leaning) determined that her actions constituded an act of war and such the soliders are not guilty. I disagree, but you cannot pretend like this is either A. a common occourance or B. a clear case of non-violent proccess. her actions were, and I quote the surprmeme court:
Tumblr media
I see you enjoy Percy Jackson; those books were very dear to my heart when I was younger, specifically the messaging of compassion for others and standing up against unjust systems.
Well, I see percy jackson as more about acceptance and breaking cycles of violence, but idk. I do think we should stand up against bad systems, and believe me, I could fill a book with the troubles that I have with the IDF. it often puts things under the rug, sacrafices Israeli lives to look better, and many other problems, but I don't think it is unjust. on the contrary, I think any army in the world, and epecially the US's one, would have flattned gaza on the 8th. the IDF is the most moral army in the world (it is the only one even trying)
Hope you agree with me, and even if you don't, how did you say? "I hope this, sent in good faith, might help you at least reflect"
This is the first civil ask I got since, I think, december. thank you for being civil

My entire life, I've yearned for the kind of community the Jewish community and Judaism have provided me. I found out I had Jewish ancestry when I was a kid, I looked into it more later and realized my most recent Jewish ancestor (like three-ish generations back) was almost certainly forcibly converted out, and decided to convert to like. Make amends for that I guess and also because I really vibed with the holidays and how we turn up everywhere in history bc we keep doing cool stuff despite consistently shitty circumstances.
But I digress.
I have waited my WHOLE LIFE trying to experience the joy becoming Jewish has shown me, and that gets shit on constantly.
My sister has started making a truly obscene number of Jew jokes. My mom scoffs at all the 'nonsense rules' and has said repeatedly that she thinks choosing a 'restrictive' religion is dumb and I've made a mistake. She even said it's an insult to HER parenting skills that I would seek out religion after she tried to teach me to know better.
My dad is dead but I never ever in a million years would have told him even if he were alive, and my sister thinks it's funny to threaten to 'out' me as Jewish to his relatives even though they're basically KKK-adjacent so she actually enjoys threatening mg safety at this point. (Yay family right?)
My friends have turned everything into an Israel/Palestine discussion lately and I know damn well what they're doing when they start saying truly horrible shit about Israelis and looking at me. They get mad if I try to temper their extremism so I've given up. I barely talk to them anymore and I spend more and more time with other Jews from temple and I don't want to like. Isolate myself from all non-Jews I guess bc I've always felt like that leads to weirdness and perpetuates shit about Jews being unfriendly I guess idk?
Anyway I digress again. My point is I'm really sick of constantly being expected to tolerate it when people think I shouldn't be Jewish.
Other queer people think I'm somehow compromising my queer identity by being Jewish, leftists think I hunt Palestinian children for sport now apparently, right-wingers think I traffic good Christian babies for organ harvesting or some shit idfk, my friends think that if I'm not being more vitriolic in my hatred of Israel than they already are I'm some kind of secret rabid Netanyahu fan, my family think I've been recruited into a cult apparently and the only other people who show me even an ounce of compassion or regard are other Jews and Gd knows there's like ten of us and that number is unlikely to increase.
Just. Fuck. I've put blood, sweat, tears and money into this, I invested more time and emotional commitment into this than I have into going to college or choosing a career, I love it more than anything and have only loved it more the more I learned about it, and all I get when I express this or even just let slip that I am Jewish and chose to be, I get nothing but hatred. I will never understand how a religion that has spent all 5000 years of our existence minding our business and arguing about the same book over and over can possibly have offended this many people with our existence.
Dmn anon, that is a lot you're dealing with right now. I'm so sorry you're surrounded by people who clearly don't respect you. Because yes this is a lack of basic respect, and it is antisemitic. Now I don't know how old you are and how safe you are, but if you can safely do so, set very hard boundaries. Do not tolerate this amount of disrespect towards who you are. It is hard, and many of us have had to go through similar situations, as you can read all over this blog. But I think having to spend your life surrounded by people who make you feel unsafe and disrespected is worse. I know sometimes there are situations in which people cannot safely set these boundaries, I hope it's not your case, but if it is feel free to come here to vent again.
I know you don't want to isolate yourself from goyim. Many Jewish people don't want to. Sadly, when people disrespect us like this, they're the ones isolating us. It's not your fault. Seek people who love and accept you. Sadly, a good chunk of goyim won't - I'm not saying everyone, obviously, but a portion. Having a good Jewish support network seems to be more and more important, whether it's irl or online.
I hope you can soon be in an environment that's safer and more accepting
- 🐺

I really loved your Palestinian heroes! Both Laiiqa and Ahsan are gorgeous!
Btw,I'm guessing Ahsan was orphaned after his home got bombed, right?
yeah, Ahsan doesn't have any other family left.
Laaiqa has a younger sister and her parents, she lost her older brother and her father was imprisoned.
While Laaiqa is more of a superhero out of desperation for freedom and also compassion, Ahsan is more emotionally numb/ cold anger type. Doesn't mean he's not loving, he just hasn't seen any loveable situations in a long while.
He tries to fight his thirst for revenge a lot, having the miraculous of destruction and all, he knows he has to fight his own demons before he fights for what's right.

might regret engaging with this topic but I find the question “are jewish people indigenous to the land of israel?” to be at best irrelevant to the current geopolitical situation and at worst antisemitic for real, and it’s very frustrating to see people fall into its hole again and again. being indigenous doesn’t make it okay to bomb hospitals. there is a lot to say about the diverse ethnic groups living in israel and how they each came to live there, but it wouldn’t change the reality of human rights violations one way or another.
so when I see people spend their time and energy trying to argue that jews—or at least, some kinds of jews—actually have no ancestral connection to israel, I find that suspect. what does your position gain by asserting that jews are secretly white people in funny hats? well, I guess it makes the argument that israel is a colonial project more straightforward. but if you need jewish people to be alien invaders to strengthen your support for palestinian liberation, I question what is actually pulling on your moral compass. yes, the connection between the people and the land is something that is important and honored in many indigenous peoples movements. but I think there is a tendency for those with a more superficial understanding of the concept (and a certain cultural predilection) to revert to a blood-and-soil impulse that holds the nomadic and diasporic in contempt. violence is more justified if it’s against aliens. violence is more contemptible when perpetrated by aliens. it’s an impulse that, no exaggeration, has been one of the primary killers of jews for hundreds of years.
wherever you believe the jews “really” came from, the people of that place probably disagree with you. my jewish ancestors came to states to escape persecution in eastern europe.* they were considered aliens there, despite their long history in the region. and in gentile imaginations jews are frequently not only aliens but some sort of deceitful, nefarious changelings who merely pretend to belong—who must be rooted out and expelled for the health of the nation.
so, do you see why leaning on “the jews don’t belong there” as a pillar of your understanding props up an antisemitic ideology? do you at least see why many people are going to judge you to be antisemitic no matter how strenuously you insist you do not personally have any problem with jews living in your country? this is not an argument that will lead you anywhere productive. at best you will waste your time on pseudoscientific inquiries into the genetic history of the jewish people. at worst you will find yourself platforming actual nazis.

Sorry I must have missed it; what did Michael say that Twitter fans misinterpreted/were rude about?
To paraphrase, he basically said he hopes for a ceasefire in the israel/palestine conflict and for compassion and safety for all innocent people on both sides.
I guess the x/sh/tw-itter radicals didn't think that was.. radical enough of him? How dare he wish for safety for everybody instead of only for palestinians, right? Is what I'm getting from the tweets and responses I've seen anyway, but I didn't dig too deep into it because I'm so secondhand ashamed of the things people are saying to him I couldn't read it all.
I just hope he knows we love him and most of us are aware he doesn't actually think genocide is a great idea.

There are enough videos and images that Hamas itself released about them crossing the fence to Israel, about the people they murdered and kidnapped. Not Israeli media, not foreign press, but Hamas itself. Is it not proof enough of the atrocities?
You don’t need to support Israel, Hamas or the Israeli government to feel compassion to both sides, which is something too many seem unable to do. The murder of children, women, elderly people unarmed in their homes is wrong on either side. And it’s very naive to assume that if Hamas will take over the entirety of Israel the Israeli civilians will not suffer. The Hamas manifesto calls for the destruction of Israel, plain and simple. And as to the “go back to where they came from” part? Where exactly? To Syria? Lebanon? Tunisia, Iraq, Iran or Libya? Jews living in Israel escaped those countries for a reason and they cannot return.
Guess what babe? Me personally, I also call for the destruction of the terror state of Israel. Every day I pray for this vile “country” built on Palestinian blood to fall brick by brick.
“Crossing the fence to Israel” That’s their homeland. That’s Palestinian land that Israel built a fucking fence around. They were trapped in an open air prison. “Hamas released the videos” oh where? On the hamas official YouTube channel? Please get one ounce of media literacy I BEG
“Murder is wrong” it’s been wrong since 1948 when EUROPEAN JEWS were handed Palestine by the British. But not one word. Who are the Israeli women and children and elderly being killed? Oh you mean the people at a festival partying next to a concentration camp? Who got shot because Israel was using them as human shields? You must be referring to the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians that have been murdered in the last TWELVE DECADES because Israel purposefully bombs schools, hospitals, and disability centers. And then cuts off power and gas to Gaza.
The only people who benefit from the terror state of Israel are EUROPEAN JEWS who have exploited the bullshit “right of return”. Arab Jews are killed alongside Arabs of any other religion. When they chant “death to arabs!” You think they follow with “but not the Jewish ones 🥺”??? Israel forcibly sterilizes African Jews that come into the country. Arab Jews were fine before the colonialism and they don’t need white supremacy to save them. The white European Jews moving from fucking Long Island New York can absolutely return to where they came from.
I will never have sympathy for Israelis who never had sympathy for me or my people. Who took our land, jailed our old, murdered our young, built for centuries. I’m sad that people are dead. But respect existence or expect resistance. No justice, no peace, bitch.
If any of you aren’t happy with the way I talk about MY homeland just unfollow and block me. I’m not spending my time debating ZIONISTS who have never given a fuck until they got a 1% taste of their own medicine.

it's quite a dishonest framing that you say hussein was "regarding you with suspicion" baselessly even though you've publicly state on your blog how you believe zionism is an "intracommunity" discussion.
they at no point even mention that they blame you for "israel's actions". they assumed you were talking about zionism because of previous pointed statements you endorsed where you say zionism should be only discussed by jews. its not imagined, you straight up said this? and you claim that hussein is antisemitic for assuming you're saying the same thing again just with more inclusive language? And it coincided a few days after me posting that tributary post about "defining yourself as zionist or antizionist"? So he assumed that it was in relation to it? sure you might not have meant it about zionism this time, but with previous statements you've made/endorsed you don't exactly have the right to act like you have no idea why they would assume that and misconstrue this as an antisemitic attack where he's conflating zionism with judiasm when you literally agree that zionism should only be discussed by jews, which means you yourself are conflating zionism and judiasm.
Tumblr media
but ok, i guess, they were just taking your words out of context because they're "antisemitic". I even saw this ask last month and assumed you were talking about zionism in your recent post because of this statement you published and told him privately thats what i assumed you were talking about. Not because of you being jewish. But because i remembered this statement you agreed with because i was so offended reading it. And yeah it's a really bad statement that I'll remember because of how antipalestinian it is so sorry I don't think you get to claim the moral highground???? You didn't exactly disagree with any part of this person's statements?????
And like I would have left this alone but hussein often gets called antisemitic by people you associate with and reblog from, and it really shows how little compassion you all have for Palestinians (which btw as I say over and over, we have a right to point out harmful rhetoric that impacts us) who have a "knee-jerk reaction" to these things when we quite literally see our communities call for the deaths of our friends and family by starvarion and bombing in the name of zionism and when we call it out irl we get called antisemitic. You could have like sent an ask or publicly clarified your intentions but you just jumped straight to calling him antisemitic. Which the onus of responsibility is on YOU because of your previous statements. Why would we assume you mean something different based on past experiences???
Rhetoric like "zionism is an intracommunity issue" is stuff that has literally led to death of our loved ones so of course we have "kneejerk reactions" when there is literal proof of you saying these things before. We are not doing this because you're Jewish, we are doing this because we see and experience first hand this rhetoric and youre perpetuating it blatantly and you have people who follow you who look to you for perspective on "israel/palestine". It's so disingenuous to claim he's an antisemite when he's literally finding common talking points zionists perpetuate against us and call it out. And saying "I don't support the likud government or Westbank settlers" means nothing to us because our families were expelled from palestine before likud and settlers happened. Trying to separate modern day zionism from its colonial roots from the 1800s is at its core anti-palestinian, no matter what other conversations you want to have.
Again like the only reason this matters is because people follow you and look to you for perspective AND you reblog/interact with people we have pointed out as harmful. I literally would not care enough to make this post if i didnt see your posts spread enough times around here. So it's not because you're jewish and framing it like that is really dishonest when the person pointing this out was a palestinian who lost family due to zionism throughout multiple generations of their lives.

The irony in Noah being called an anti-Palestine Zionist even though he said he hopes for their peace and distinguished between them and Hamas. . . Do these people purposely twisting his words not know anything about Hamas? Do they think that equating all of Palestine and its people with Hamas is a good thing? I'm at a loss looking at his tag and this fandom. Terrorism is wrong no matter who's doing it and acting like he's said this out of nowhere instead of referencing a very specific event is mind-boggling. Did the mention of Israel suddenly throw all compassion and understanding out the window? Are we not allowed to feel for all innocent lives lost, whether they be Palestinian or Israeli? I don't understand. The callous disrespect for human life is scary to witness. Anyone that supports Hamas supports the extermination of the Jewish and Palestinian people, because Gazans will never be free under terrorist rule and will instead suffer the most no matter what and it is within Hamas' political doctrine to kill the Jews. But sure. Let's all focus our anger on a teenager and act like he called for genocide. If he had omitted "Israel vs terrorism" would they still be so mad even though he was obviously talking about Hamas and what they did recently and still managed to show support for the Palestinian people? Sorry for the essay.
👆👆👆 i think they’re too angry and jumping the gun to really take in what noah wrote. there are people who are already biased against noah, and there are people who can’t or won’t accept nuance. so they’re firm in their conviction that noah is a zionist. they’re also very nitpicky with what noah said; they believe he’s saying palestinians AND muslims are terrorists. the 40 babies being killed is supposed to be misinformation but there is a lot of misinformation, missing context and propaganda flying about - it’s an ongoing event so the incoming news and updates are endless and people will get some things wrong, even without malicious intent. even the most educated people are unable to form their thoughts, so what chance do ordinary people have? even noah who is smart enough for UPenn, but he’s majoring in economics (i think), not geopolitics and such, so he’s supposed to be quiet because he’s not educated in that area, according to twitter activists. i don’t necessarily agree, because he is jewish and he’s worried about his cultural homeland. he also sympathises with palestinians but it’s just not good enough, i guess. we’re supposed to say something but we also should shut up because we’re not educated enough but we’re evil if we’re silent cos that means we side with the oppressors!! we can’t win.
anyway, streets are saying it was a friend who wrote that insta post and they asked noah to share it. whoever wrote it, it’s a sensible, thoughtful post and the backlash is over the top. reading comprehension is out of the window and noah seems to be public enemy number one on my twitter timeline. they talk about him like he’s absolutely vile and akin to a dictator, like he’s responsible for the long history between israel and palestine. the backlash against ST cast members like brett, jamie bower, and cara buono seems nothing in comparison. and we all know why.

the vote blue no matter who crowd should've just kept it to themselves. we have a year before elections and you're already proclaiming that you'll back joe biden and the democrats no matter what?
have you noticed that none of this is over yet? only a four-day truce has been agreed upon and it was still delayed. israel is intensifying its bombings of northern gaza before this truce comes into effect. we don't even know how many palestinians have been killed as the gazan health ministry is unable to properly update the death toll. this is because the idf has been decimating its healthcare infrastructure, invading hospitals and sniping doctors. it claimed hamas had a command centre under the al-shifa hospital, and the biden administration 'confirmed' this without providing actual evidence.
this is only a recent development. god knows what else your government will do to escalate the conflict and help its ally slaughter more innocents. you'll look even stupider in retrospect for flocking to your leader like the brainwashed maga cultists you love to hate.
you don't have the spine to threaten to withhold your vote. you don't have the brains to question your officials' statements and actions. you don't even have the compassion to understand why people hesitate to support the democrats again. hell, some of you refuse to believe israel is committing a genocide in the first place.
you're turning people away, people who would have otherwise understood your point of view. you're effectively shooting yourselves in the foot. it would be laughable if it wasn't a chilling revelation of just how little you care about the victims of your government when it happens to benefit you.
you condescend to your own people as if they're idiots, as if they aren't deeply familiar with the dangers that trump represents. i can't imagine how difficult it must be for muslim and arab americans to be stuck in this unenviable dilemma, and for anyone who held their nose to vote for biden and is now appalled by his conduct. this is no easy choice, not in a country of warmongers posing as a democracy.
but you don't reach out to those people and show them any sympathy, do you? you dismiss them as lazy, useless leftists, because it's easier. you're all too eager to blame them for splitting the vote, as if they were the ones who chose to send more weapons knowing they'll be used for ethnic cleansing. biden wants them to be kept secret and bypass congress. because guess what? he knows you're gullible dipshits who will believe him when he claims to protect civilians.
but sure, you'll do what you can to hold the democrats accountable before you go to brunch. keep pretending your party is a champion of left-wing causes while it collaborates with an apartheid, racist settler-colonial state. your tax dollars go to drones and bombs, but at least your student loan debt is cancelled, right? and that's worth the price in human lives?
you lick those boots thinking they keep you safe, but one day they will crush you too.

Question for fellow Jewish folks on tumblr does this make also a certain way
Tumblr media
To be clear this is not meant to be a call to attack or harass or anything like that to this youtuber
but is it just me that it feels a certain way about this, like maybe something along of anxiety or just having a bad feeling about feeling about it.
Like the comments are filled with praise for Hasan Piker and his coverage of everything which I personally find concerning because Hasan does not have a proper factual understanding of the complex history, but acts like he does and will say things that are totally historically false, he also does not have a good track record with condemning people who hateful comments from his direct community.
The other thing is the use of the word Genocide which let be clear is not me denying the crimes being committed by the Israeli government nor the crimes they have committed in the past. Nor is this me giving a free pass to any actions they are doing. Words however have meanings and must be used correctly or they lose their impact.
In my opinion @spacelazarwolf did a really fantastic breakdown of the 10 stages of Genocide and what classifications are for that and where the Israeli government is in terms of that model.
Because by that model they are very much in the undertaking of a Genocide and with that said it is important to direct and specific when we talk about it and what we talk about, but also to be careful to not fall into the "Jews are blood thirsty monsters" antisemitic rhetoric that I honestly do not trust that goyim will bother to even try to do. I do not trust them talk about any of this care, balance and nuance it needs.
It does not seem to me that this youtuber or frankly most of the people with loudest voices and larger audiences talking on this are speaking the communities most effected by is happening.
They are not listening or speaking to the Israeli and Palestinian communities who are currently living through it nor do they speak to the Jewish Diaspora and Palestinian Diaspora communities.
Because who would know better and understand better than us about what is going on. But when we talk about each we talk with understanding and compassion and about a complex history and that doesn't fit the narrative I guess.
Because the narrative has to be Israel vs Palestine instead of the reality which is Israeli civilians and Palestinian civilians being totally and utterly fucked over by Hamas and the Israeli government.
As always I will continue to hope for and works towards a day when Israeli and Palestinian children can look to the same sky and just see a sky not something to fear.

it’s especially disappointing because during the pride flag controversy several actors stood up and openly called fans of the show out for their homophobia. It’s not like the actors don’t have a history of speaking on issues that could damage their careers. If they can do it for a single pride flag on set why can’t they do it for a genocide? (ok I know their not equivocal but you get what I mean)
YEAHHH AND I WAS SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED THEN it's really such a shame. for a moment i went hey yknow what these guys might actually get it we might have for the first time ever had a bunch of people making a show about jesus who understand at least half of what jesus was all about. but i guess not.
and yeah don't worry i get what you mean. it was so easy for them to speak up about that and stand by what they believe. practically, at least, i recognize that standing your ground when faced with so much criticism can be hard, but you get what i mean literally all they had to do was take their phones and post a little post and address it and that was about it. and it made so many queer people who have been constantly rejected and shamed by religion so happy. and they could literally do the exact same thing to raise awareness and express support for the people of palestine ( or certain of them could, yknow, NOT JOIN THE IDF ?????? ) and they're just not.
and i'm not talking about dallas because i've accepted that dallas is a piece of shit and supports genocide but there's an entire cast keeping quiet about this. luke dimyan is literally arab i think he's egyptian ??? like palestine is. right there. these people could've been your sisters and brothers have you no shame at all. do you live with yourself.
and obviously i'm not placing more responsibility on luke than everyone else just because he's arab that would be an incredibly stupid thing to do. but i just. i think about this a lot. if my own neighbors were living under such circumstances and i did nothing about it and even SUPPORTED people who OPENLY condone these people's sufferring i wouldn't be able to live with myself. i wouldn't with my current circumstances. i couldn't even imagine being so closely related to palestine and still turning my back on them.
like how do they not understand this. how can you be making a show about a palestinian man fighting for freedom and love and compassion and STILL not get this these people claim to love jesus soooo much because they're such good christians of the christian show but if jesus was born today their support of such monstrosity would be the reason he'd end up either dead or permanently injured or orphaned. it could be either of those little children they're so proud of torturing and it wouldn't make any difference to them.

let me guess ur pro israel or ur too concerned about ur aesthetic to share awareness on the current genocide of palestine
hey there,
I am completely heart broken about what's happening in the world.
I am processing the grief, shock and trauma of October 7 when my people were violently raped and murdered in the most barbaric ways. Not since the Holocaust has this large a number of Jews been killed in a single day and the whole world has found a way to justify and even celebrate it.
To support and justify these attacks is not a call for peace, it is a message of support for Hamas, encouraging them to continue their violence until they are liberated, at the expense of other innocent lives. Hamas wants the annihilation of all Jewish people when it is written clearly and openly in their constitution.
While there have been tragic events and loss of life on both sides of the conflict, characterising it as a genocide oversimplifies the complexities at play. Instead, it's more accurate to describe the situation as a long-standing and deeply entrenched political conflict with a history of violence and human rights violations on all sides.
I have compassion and empathy for all victims of violence, there is no violent pathway to ensuring Jewish or Palestinian security.
I am terrified - not only of there ongoing pain in Israel and Gaza, but of the worlds response. Of the hypocrisy.
Of those who under the guise of humanitarianism reject my Jewish identity and ethnicity. Of activism that dilutes hate speech behind banners of "freedom" while calling for the annihilation of Israel and the genocide of Jews. Of the do-gooders who want to #freePalestine but never #freeIsraelihostages, of those who mark Jewish homes with the star of David, just as the Nazis did to my grandparents. Those who set fire to houses and synagogues in Sweden, Paris, Tunisia. Those who raise the Hitler salute and those who tear down posters of kidnappings in Israel in my own neighbourhood.
It could not be more evident, now than ever how much Jewish people need our homeland of Israel - the amount of anti-Semitism all over the world is disgusting and thus we as Jews need our safe place and homeland.
so no I am not too concerned about my aesthetic, I am grieving my people and feel terrified and heart broken about what is happening in the world.
