A recent Simon doodle ft. a couple different filters on it, it’s sketch, and another similar perspective practice. Blood is so fun to draw. :3

I hate that after following one person who happens to be an amputee, my recommended blogs are flooded with amputee fetishist! I followed a person, tumblr. I'm not here to immediately dehumanised and fetishise them

Stop feeding the algorithm
If you hesitate over a POST for just a spilt second longer, the algorithm picks up on that. Then they send you another post just like it.
Let's say a video about jealousy, if you do the same thing again --- hesitate just for a second, even if you eventually click thumbs down, it knows/thinks that's what you secretly want.
The algorithm has one job in mind keeping you engaged not making you a better person.

i watched one qanon video that came as an ad on IG because it was fucking hilarious (we're apparently all supposed to be dead now due to a "electronic nuclear missile" that will not actually explode but knock out the power grid and that apparently means we also lose water and common sense) BUT i am now dearly paying for it because now i keep getting recommended christian/conservative/straight up just bigoted shit and it's killing me

You are holding a cursed item.
What is a curse? A persuasive bad feeling. A knocking down of your concious awareness of reality in a way that influences you, outside of your awareness, to engage in behaviour ultimately harmful to your life. Bad vibes.
Live this, endless scroll that, that's what it's for- to make you keep engaging, scrolling, an online feeling of community as bait.
Like any trade with an evil being, your technology is taking advantage of your desire to belong to steal your life time, your confidence, your spirit. Keep in mind what you are dealing with and use it responsibly, like a wizard studying a dark magic item.
Know the thing in your hands was, at one point, a helpful tool for scholars. Imbedded into it is a good idea. But it has been corrupted. The creators don't care if it ruins your life, because it makes theirs better. They conciously exchange your life for profit.
My tips are:
Have a ritual: only use it in one place, for a limited amount of time. Keep it caged away from you life, lest you touch it.
Be aware of the contents of your heart: if you hear it singing its praises as a solution to your real life problems, claiming it will make you feel better, DO NOT GO TO IT. That's how it gets you.
When it calls you, be aware what it's calling you for, and if it is something you must get done, be aware that is all you do.
Literally just be constantly aware that you are holding a cursed item.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that I hate algorithms. With algorithms, you never really find anything new, people with small followings don’t get much attention, etc. There’s certain troupes that I found out that I like because AO3 doesn’t have an algorithm shoving things in my face. I’ve found music that I love because I went on Youtube in incognito mode. These are things I could never get with an algorithm.

I've been getting very limited content on my newsfeed recently, and it has been annoying, reminding me of Instagram’s algorithm. So switching off the 'Best Stuff First' option on the dashboard settings/preferences made my day. Finally I'm catching up with all the pages I haven't seen in ages.

What is happening with the ‘For You’ algorithm right now??
Because I have seen not one, not two, but three posts about kinks that I have never interacted with in anyway (degradation, piss, and the final being bluntly transphobic when I myself am trans??) and have no clue why they’re there. I get it if Tumblr is trying to let smaller blogs get their posts seen, but Jesus Christ, I do not want random posts about random concepts that I either have no interest in or clash with my preconceived algorithm. Simply, what is up, Tumblr?
