weve been mulling this over like all day but we have so many good ones from this lifetime its hard to decide. im gonna ask around and we'll compile the best ones here - [AR] Autopilot 💾
last summer on our familys annual beach vacation we did shrooms and saw through the fabric of the universe and befriended The Horrors. that was pretty cool. id like to relive being high off my gourd stargazing in a place with such little light pollution - Starlight 🌌
im gonna say when we were in tennessee like almost 2 years ago. we had flown out to visit our friend (now qpp & partner system) seepy and heart's so small they're shorter than us and i dunno it was the first time doing something like that and she was so small in my arms and i could honestly have just held him forever. i love you seeps ◇ - Carpet ✨️
yesterday for our friend bears birthday we went to an enchanted forest escape room and it was so well put together and ethereal and it was the best 40 minutes of my life in this physical realm ive never felt so at home. there were puzzles and mushrooms and music and gnomes and my bestest friends were right there too!!! oh it was so wonderful - Sayakura 🧚♀️
confessing to luci. nuff said. but i wanna say more so im gonna: it was me realizing i was in love at the same time as confessing cause i kinda just asked for advice in a group server w them fdsgjsksl. we were already qpps and apparently my family thought we were already dating (i mean we called beem our soulmate like - ✨️) but like i wound up spending the whole afternoon just thinking about them and being giddy. it was nice - Luna 🌙
mine's gotta be the first time we climbed that abandoned water tower past the ravine. we had spraycans and i wrote trans rights on the side of it. the wind gave us such a thrill, it was incredible. and the view was definitely worth it - Waks 📹
im claiming that time in grade 11 when our gr9 science teacher + gr11-12 bio teacher mr coulter approached me and asked if i wanted to go on a field trip to the science centre that was intended for the grade 12 kids. i didnt know anyone but i didnt care bc mr coulter was there and i wore my new animaniacs shirt and i got to run around the science centre itself during the lunch break and play with genetics stuff (i was such a nerd about punett squares and all that its no wonder he asked me specifically). i think the best part was the feeling i had when i was sitting next to mr coulter on the bus ride there and back. he let me take a selfie with him.... mr coulter was like a father to me, so it meant a lot. - Quinn ✉️
i wanna relive when we were playing with shanny and teagsi and we climbed the big tree near the ice rink by our school. i used to read up there too :) - Little One 👾
the body's nanna flew us out to grenada in march... i would like to relive swimming at that beach, on that little island in carriacou. the water was clear and a such beautiful blue, the air was just a little too warm and humid, and sitting on that beach reminded me of my old home - Riku/Shore ⚔️
mine's gotta be the second year we went to camp mini yo we! specifically, reading the letters mom wrote me for each day of the week. she wrote a little story about me; i was the doctor's daughter but i didnt know it, and i had powers that warped me through space and time seemingly at random. she wrote that i found a place and led a revolution against tyrannical oppressive overlords. not single-handedly taking down the villains, but helping empower the people so they could fight for themselves. by the end of the week we had found a crowd of invested listeners in the other girls at camp. it was nice... i think about those letters a lot - Secret 🧩
we were bodily sitting alone in the grass at a local park, it was right as we were discovering our plurality. i could see all of us all over the park, as if we were all there. the kids were playing tag, some were poking around in the forest right there, quinn was in that big tree we like to sit under... scrooge and quinslap were off smoking a joint, sitting on a tree trunk that had grown a little horizontal before it remembered to grow up. it wasnt in our view but we know the path and it was in the area enough that they could be there while our body simply sat in the grass. it was a fascinating and beautiful feeling. like a family picnic, but with only one person present. - [AR] Autopilot 💾

hi um this may be kinda a strange post but like. I have got to say something cause this is Not okay to just let it be happening. I bring it up specifically in the Animaniacs/PATB fan groups bc that's where I've noticed its most rampant but some of you adults don't know when and where things are appropriate, and are absolutely atrocious at keeping younger people safe. I understand there's gonna be an older audience due to the shows age but like. there's always gonna be new fans. not everything is for adults only, especially a damn children's show. I see too many 16 and under people interacting w adults here, while not inherently bad, its getting too a point where most adults are TOO comfortable with it. no one needs to be encouraging a 15 yr old to tag them in their pinky suavo thirst drawings, or their weird child angst or what ever, no one needs to be displaying that kind of stuff everywhere publicly any way, no matter what age. I understand needing outlets for....things but keep that in appropriate friend groups. im not saying cut out every adult ever, but be careful and set your boundaries.
and you the grown ass adults, you ALSO need to set boundaries. I know im gonna get too many "but im shy/a people pleaser!" from both groups, but its the only way to guarantee any healthy interactions.

No see, Animaniacs is this super fun, tongue in cheek, OBJECTIVELY lighthearted show, and then it just randomly smacks you over the head with these wildly out of place dark themes and the tonal whiplash is actually so funny if you think about it. In a morbid way.

Wakko's Wish - Where do I begin? Yakko, Wakko and Dot are starving orphans, Dot's dying from some illness, Yakko's got trauma from his parent's (oh they have parents in this movie! who were apparently royals?) Wakko has to work to provide for his family, everyone's cynical and depressed because of the horrible living conditions made by a greedy tyrant and the tax collectors that abuse their power. Oh! and Pip Pumphandle's the narrator I think?
They're Laboratory Mice! - wtf happened to Brain to make his head so big? Ever wonder if they indeed were subject to crazy experiments leading to them becoming cognizant, and have a GIANT noggin?
Wakko's Appetite - Mentioned in s3ep5 of the og series The Kid in the Lid, apparently Wakko's got low blood sugar (read: hypoglycemia) Strange thing to include despite it just never being mentioned anywhere else.
Scratchandad - Somehow the only parental figure the Warner kids have ever had. sucks that he's going through a villain arc rn in the reboot. Now Yakko's stuck with being the responsible dad-sibling and he's only 14!
Chicken Boo what's the Matter With You? - Bruhhh the human disguises are unsettling enough, but THEN we learned that Chicken Boo pretended to be a hunter and kidnapped the rest of the OG cast and turned them into taxidermy? AND THEY WERE STILL ALIVE AFTER IT? Were they aware while they were stufed head mounted on the wall? Eugghhh, and that transformation sequence was nightmare fuel.
The Infamous IT Parody - Gosh darn it reboot team! You ruined a perfectly good Yakko! Look he's got anxiety!
Brinky Canon? Lol jk, Unless... - Dark Pinky from the evil alternate future where Brain is also totally dead? Or was it Brain screwing with the timeline and accidently turning his homie into an eldritch abomination. Unless it's the one episode where Brain accidenly makes Pinky's hands Hannibal Lector, and starts sobbing when he thinks Pinky died in that helicopter crash. IDK these mice got some angsty forbidden love stuff going on.
Julia - when you remember that Brain IS indeed a villain. Who tried to mind control his supposed wife into doing his evil bidding. And melted her mind when he fritzed out his brainwashing device. Now she's all evil and vengeful! Nice going Brain!
The Warners Freaking DIE (again?) - uh, reboot s2ep2 Please Submit. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot die grisly deaths at the hand of a mass of spam emails that off them one by one in the very same ways they tried to get rid of it.
Dot has Quit - Anyone else notice how Yakko and Wakko seemed to have lost their free will after getting blasted by Dot's cuteness? I did and it was unsettling.
Reboot! - So what DID happen to the Warner kids in between the original series and the reboot? Evidence from the title song, such as them literally signing contracts with the Grim Reaper, and bursting out of their own graves, suggest a pretttyyy morbid idea. Also there's Wakko's weird final line "This time I wonder if we'll dream..." that leaves us on a cliffhanger. Cool. Ok Wakko, you funky puppy-dog kid, give us nothing.
Uhh so yeah. The zany antics definitley outweight the dark stuff but isn't it weird I was able to come up with a list this long.

I’ve been watching old 2000s anime from my childhood and since I’ve been really into Animaniacs lately, I came up with an Animaniacs AU idea 👀
The Warner Siblings as
The Aliens from Tokyo Mew Mew aka Mew Mew Power (or the Cyniclons as they are called in the English dub)
Yakko - Quiche/Kisshu (Dren)
Wakko - Pie/Pai (Sardon)
Dot - Tart/Taruto (Tarb)
The next part is just me rambling about comparing these two groups, I apologize if it doesn’t make any sense

I’m getting real pissed off with the Animaniacs discourse bc of ppl being like “they’re minors!” because again we have the classic internet issue of people not understand the concept of aging characters up because WE KNOW they are minors,
I know Yakkos on his way to becoming the next Oncler up there with Sans undertale and Bendy dancing demon, and I’m honestly all for it. Cringe culture aside (which is dead) he meets the niche of personality types that I and a lot of other ppl like, but like they are FICTIONAL CARTOON CHARACTERS, If we wanna simp in a respectful manner let us simp.
Because they are cartoon characters they don’t age, but also because they are cartoon characters you can apply any fucking logic you want to em and age them the fuck up to make them appropriate for you to enjoy.
Further more I’m a firm supporter of tossing the Canon out the window and functioning on headcanons and anything that lets you enjoy the content in the way you want that doesn’t harm others, so Idk about y’all but before this reboot and bullshit was being tossed in my face about their ages I didn’t KNOW how old they were and always thought they were more older and mature than what they actually are, the reboot just aids in this and makes them seem even older - so I will be sticking to what I know and Yakko is in his young 20s, you can fight me. (the other 2 adjust accordingly I see Wakko as late teens and Dot’s just getting out of her preteens 13-14)
Once again I stand by my statement that if someone is consciously making a character older and look older as best they can they are NOT pedophiles and never will be no matter how badly you want to bully them. Pedos do not take the time and effort to change a character like that, if they wanna diddle a kid they will diddle a kid not an aged up adult version of a kid.
Further more, it’s possible to respect both aged up content and wholesome content because mature adult brains can comprehend different context on each and every post. I can reblog artwork and appreciate content of the Warners being depicted as children and wholesome siblings and NOT simp for any of them on that post because I know better, while at the same time reblogging intentional simp art work that has Yakko aged up accordingly and appreciate that.
If you lack the ability to comprehend this and it triggers you so goddamn much I really think you’re too young/immature to even be watching the show even if its aimed at kids, because its got jokes and themes that really you clearly wouldn’t get or understand if you cannot comprehend this simple concept.
and like if it REALLY bothers some of yall learn to block ppl so you don’t see the content JFC.

when I was a sophomore in college, I had to take a world geography class (which I aced bc it was really easy but thats not the point) and bc of that I ended up watching Yakkos World for like 6 hours straight to "study" for my final (it was NOT useful in anyway except serotonin) and bc of that animaniacs and looney tunes became my finals comfort media for that semester and I watched nonstop cartoons for like 2 weeks and thats how I got sucked into animaniacs fanfiction on fucking FANFICTION DOT NET and found "Bonds" by FearlessFreep.
and idk if they're out there, whoever they are, but I want them to know that that fic Changed My Life. Its the fix I hold all other fics too, my standard. Oh my god.

TIMELINE UPDATE!
OOC. look! devilswinging is updating again! i may not actively post for now (because overall muse is still dead), but i wanted to update everyone on some timeline revisions i’ve done since personally playing BATIM and reading Dreams Come to Life. everything’s gonna be under a cut so that it doesn’t clog up anyone’s dashboard. i wanted to update everyone because if i do come back to tumblr rp, i’ll immediately be jumping into this revised timeline instead of keeping the old one
THE MOST MAJOR UPDATE IS THAT ISA/BAST NO LONGER EXISTS. i know, shocker. the Ink Demon is in fact Bebe now. instead of having two different Bendys, we’re just gonna keep it at it being the same demon, just horrifically traumatized!
mostly i did this change bc of reading through the novel. it just made more sense to me for the once-friendly and peppy yet abused demon to eventually snap and drag everyone down with him in vain attempt to hold the studio up on his own after both of his creators ditched the studio.
secondly! Joey is a bitch! yep, you heard it here, i’ve officially joined the canon bandwagon of Joseph Drewseph Is A Huge Dick. with the erasure of Isa as a character, having Joey be nice just didn’t work out anymore. somebody had to be the reason Henry left. somebody had to be the reason Bendy snapped. and (un)fortunately Joey was the only one who fit the bill. so he’s bitch, like canonically.
(yes, this does mean that joey will be removed from @builtmachine. because unfortunately i cannot actively write abusive/asshole characters as seen by me immediately butchering isa/bast from bad guy to good guy)
last major point! the Inkverse mostly happened because Bendy was attempting to hold up the studio on his own. of course the Ink has a mind of its own, somewhat, but the majority of it is still very much a hell and prison of Bendy’s own making.
the full timeline is this!
Henry and Joey are both born. [1901]
Joey Drew Studios is founded [1920]
Bendy and Co are made around, even if they haven't shown up in the cartoon yet. [1925]
Henry gets sick of the studio and loses hope in it and yadda yadda and quits. [1930]
Bendy begins to destabilize and become monstrous. Thomas locks him in the infirmary under Joey's orders. Everyone still there is forced to ignore his cries. [1930-1934].
Bendy Land begins construction. Financial decline for the studio. [1944]
Studio is placed under investigation for hazardous environments, missing employees, harassment, and excessive backpay. Company also bankrupts. [1946]
Buddy finds Bendy and frees him. Bad idea! [1946]
Snooks, Spitner and Snooks sues JDS for mismanaging workers. The studio closed 12 days later. [1959]
Joey leaves the studio [1959]
INKVERSE!! [1959-1972]
Thomas and Allison begin to die, Boris and Alice sacrifice themselves to save them, making Tom and Allison Angel. [1960]
The Butcher Gang become one set of their corrupted copies, making the indistinguishable from the rest. [1961]
Henry returns to the studio. [1963]
Henry is trapped in the studio. [1963-1972]
Henry manages to calm Bendy (skipping the idea that Bendy becomes trapped in "The End") and leaves the studio with him. [1972]
TL;DR: the Inkverse is ultimately caused by Henry leaving, Bendy destabilized and being publicly abused by JDS and causing at least some of the environmental hazards, and the Inkverse being fully realized once Joey leaves and Bendy has no one left to “support” him.
other minor points that may not be timeline specific but are in fact major plot revisions!
THE CYCLE IS DEFINITELY NOT A TIME LOOP. i’m sorry, i still detest legit time loops as a narrative point. the Cycle for devilswinging’s timeline is simply a cycle of life and death for Henry; considering just about EVERYTHING within the Inkverse is made of Bebe’s ink, it makes sense that every time Henry died and was brought back, the events could - and would - replay over and over. long story short, once Henry actually beats Bebeast with The End, that’s it. it’s over. they can leave. he can take him out of the studio.
the whole universe is now a Who Framed Roger Rabbit-esque Toon Town universe, taking inspiration and pieces from multiple sources on an OOC level - mostly from WFRR and Animaniacs + Tiny Toons. long story short that just about everyone knows: humans and toons live on the same plane and coexist.
but vee, why do the JDS toons have to hide away then if this is a Toon Town universe? THEY’RE FREAKS. explaining that further: they were created by means different from other studios’ toons. putting it simply, most toons (ex: the Warner Siblings) literally jump off the page from the love and inspiration put into them by their creators and studios as a whole. the JDS toons... didn’t get that, considering it was likely only Henry who truly loved them. so they had to be brought to life by other means... aka the Ink Machine, which made them demon-toons instead of true toons; JDS had no choice but to hide them away because if they got caught displaying their demonic sides, there’d be trouble. i mean there’s trouble regardless, but yeah.

👀 - Do you have any WIPs that you would never let see the light of day? If yes, what are they about?
I have so many half-baked ideas for fics sitting in my Google docs, it really is sad. Like, there's this one for the game TWEWY that I was fixating on like, four years ago, that has like. five paragraphs in it and was basically just about Shiki asking Neku why she was his most important thing. And there's this My Hero fic that's based on the song Heat Haze Days that's like, half done, but I never figured out exactly how I wanted ~the Twist~ to go so I just stopped working on it and that was two years ago I think. I also have another My Hero fic from 2017 that was about an adult Izuku finding out people are shipping him and Uraraka together and Freaking Out Over It, which literally just needed an ending scene and it would've been done but now its been so long and its probably out of character and also I don't like writing/reading adult bnha character fics anymore bc I don't think the society they'll be in in the future will be like that and- anyway.
And again, there's my half dozen Luca fics that range from being half finished to literally just existing in my mind, waiting for me to actually write them down, and at this rate I don't think any of them will ever be officially published akdjakdjajsjsj
This isn't really answering the question, because it's not that I would never let them see the light of day, it's just that none of them are FINISHED, and I don't feel comfortable releasing them if they're not at their best. I just have a lot of ideas that I never flush out and soon I lose interest in them, like the adhd brain does, and they haunt me, constantly.
🏅 - What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).
I figured out what I wanted to do for a few scenes for the next chapter of Separated! I've been trying to figure out what I wanted, but my ideas were so vague (to the point where one scene was literally just "Wakko has a scene now" skdkaksjakw) that I was really struggling with writing. But now I've got a better idea, and hopefully I can start putting pen to paper, as it were!
(Also, someone said they were inspired to write their own fic after reading a chapter of mine and that made me feel all akdkakdjakdjajdjaj inside)
👨👧👧 - Do you tell people in real life that you write fic?
Yeah, actually. I don't like.... talk about it a lot, but all of my friends and family are aware that I write both fanfiction and original stuff (though mostly fanfic lmao). My brother actually helps me out with my smut fic.
I'm definitely, like... weirdly ashamed about when I talk about it, cuz I'm afraid none of them would get it? Cuz I put my heart and soul into my fics and I'm very very proud of them, but I grew up in that era where it was taboo to talk about writing fanfiction, so it's kinda hard to get out of that mentality. I know in my head that fanfiction is just as valid as original fiction (and honestly, is sometimes even BETTER than original fiction), but talking about it with my parents (who have even admitted!! to writing star trek fanfic!!! and stuff!!! so why is it weird!!!) makes me Big Uncomfy, lmaooo.
Ah, anyway, the answer is yes.
🤔 - What is the hardest part of writing fic?
I think, probably making sure the characters stay in character, especially when you're changing up their backstory or making them Go Through Some Shit. Like, for example, in my animaniacs fic Separated, I'm having Dot be like, super abused, right? So I write her as being kinda timid and quiet, and metaphorically rolling over when there's confrontation. But Dot's canon personality is very spit-fire and angry and self-assured, so I'm always second-guessing how I'm characterizing her. I'm trying to find a balance where she's still like that, but just more subdued and only that way around her Safe People, and I think I'm doing well. At least, no one has complained to me about her being wildly out of character, so-
But yeah, it's about finding that balance between canon and fanon, I suppose.
