Sicktember Day 11: Beginner's Guide to Faking Sick
Fandom: Ace Attorney
Characters: Larry Butz, Apollo Justice, Trucy Wright, Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth
Notes: Despite an ill-fitting reputation as a slacker, Larry has never faked being sick in his life. There are over a hundred good excuses out there, should he ever need one. Pretending to be sick was far too risky, anyway. However, as the time for his visit to his boyfriends grows shorter, and his boyfriends’ work days grow longer, Larry may just have to step out of his comfort zone with help from two unlikely sources. Post-SoJ, one mention of Apollo’s whereabouts following the game, but he’s in Japanifornia focusing on the here and now, so assess how risky you personally find it if you haven’t finished SoJ. You know the drill, married Wrightworth mutually dating Larry, and Trucy is in college (they grow up so fast!)
“Another one!?”
Even if the phone couldn’t hear him, it felt good for Larry to shout his frustrations at his latest received texts.
“What’s up?” A muffled form of Apollo’s voice came from inside one of Trucy’s magic boxes. “Is it a good enough excuse to get out of this box?”
“No,” Larry groaned as he rested his cheek on Phoenix’s desk, “Edgey just had to call in another witness, so he and Nick are gonna be working all day again.”
“Damn, I guess you’re stuck here with us, then.” Apollo helped himself to opening the top of the box to climb out, provoking merely a look of disappointment from Trucy once she entered the office just in time to catch him in the act. “Funny how even after I’ve been gone for a while, the boss still hasn’t given Athena her fair share of cases.”
“That’s not true, Polly!” Trucy eagerly corrected him. “This was actually Athena’s case originally, but,” she couldn’t help but giggle, “she’s playing hooky to go on a date!”
“What?” Apollo raised a brow. “I could’ve sworn I heard you tell everyone here that she had the flu, and in graphic detail at that.”
“That’s what I told you, yes.” Trucy blew a quick, playful raspberry. “She needed a good excuse to take time off, so I came up with one.”
“Jeez, I wish an excuse like that could be enough to get someone else to stay home,” Larry lamented, “then the days leading up to my next book fair appearance wouldn’t be so lonely.”
“Who said they couldn’t, Uncle Larry?” Even though Larry was now dating both of Trucy’s dads, the ‘Uncle’ part still stuck. “When I got my appendix out, Daddy and Papa dropped everything just to stay with me.”
“Well, yeah, they’re your parents and you had a major surgery.” Larry countered.
“Didn’t the boss and Mr. Edgeworth take a week off when you had the flu, Larry?” Apollo wondered aloud.
“Yeah, but I was actually sick, and it was awful.”
“Who said you have to be actually sick?”
The cogs in Larry’s brain needed a moment to turn.
“Oh, no! No way!” Larry refused the potential suggestion adamantly. “I have never faked sick in my entire life. It would be too risky to start now.”
“But that would make you more believable!” Trucy insisted. “Didn’t you say Papa used to get away with faking sick all the time because he was so well behaved?”
“Yeah, but I’m not.”
“Sure you are! You have, um,” Trucy pressed a finger to her cheek, “a record of credibility! Yeah! Daddy and Papa would never suspect a thing!”
“But I don’t know the first thing about faking sick!”
“Polly and I can show you the ropes!” Trucy giggled once she saw Apollo’s reaction to being volunteered. “Polly pretended to be sick so we wouldn’t find out he got backstage passes to–”
“Hey!” Apollo interrupted, even though it was obvious those backstage passes were a privilege earned by being the boyfriend of Klavier Gavin. It wasn’t even that big of a deal, since everyone and their mother already knew that, but Apollo liked pretending his relationship was still a well-hidden secret. “I’ll help, just… Just be quiet in exchange!”
“Alright, alright.” Trucy needed a moment to settle down. “First thing’s first: looking the part!”

The makeup was so itchy.
Sure, it helped Larry look like he was at death’s door, but why did it have to be so uncomfortable? This was the stuff Trucy wore for every magic show? This was the stuff Nick wore for Ivy University’s theatre productions? Larry was so thankful that despite his very long résumé, such heavy makeup was never required; even the Steel Samurai live shows just needed the costumes and that was it.
“He looks like a zombie…” Apollo muttered. “I thought we were going for a few days of bedrest, not the walking dead.”
“That’s because I haven’t applied the blush yet, Polly!”
Oh god, there was more.
“How much longer is this gonna take?” Larry didn’t mean to sound like he was complaining, but it did feel like forever.
“Just a few finishing touches, aaaaand… We’re done!” Trucy presented a hand mirror for Larry to assess the results.
“Wow, I look like shit.” If it had been any other situation, that wouldn’t even be close to the compliment it was right now.
“Perfect!” Trucy bounced on the balls of her feet. “That means Polly can help you with the next part!”
“What?” Why me?” Apollo pointed to himself, almost hoping there was somehow another ‘Polly’ in the room.
“You lose your voice all the time from yelling stuff like,” Trucy took a deep breath, “‘I’M FINE!!’” She cleared her throat. “You know, like that.”
“I don’t do it on purpose.” Apollo retorted.
“Well, how else is he going to sound sick?”
“Um,” Larry chimed in, “I could just take a nap with Pess and get congested that way; that’d make me sound pretty sick.”
“Nope! Not allowed!” Trucy was quick to dismiss the decision. “You’ll ruin all my hard work on your makeup if you do that!”
“Alright,” Apollo conceded with a sigh, “let’s get shouting.”

It took until dusk for the excess yelling to do a number on Larry’s vocal chords, but what mattered was that it worked. Even when Apollo suggested he just give up, Larry kept going.
Now he looked, sounded, and honestly kind of even felt sick enough for even the most perceptive of lawyers to fall for his performance.
Trucy and Apollo had opted to leave the office and grab something to eat, mostly because Trucy couldn’t stop giggling and Apollo feared she would give everything away. For a girl who took the art of the poker face so seriously, Trucy sure had a difficult time maintaining one whenever her dads were involved.
All Larry needed to do was just wait for just the right moment to pull the thermometer from the mug of hot water that Trucy had prepared, and all would be right. His boyfriends would immediately take pity on him, call in some substitutes, and spend all their newly gained freetime pampering him.
Life would be so good.
As soon as the door creaked open, it was showtime. Larry quickly plucked the heated thermometer to slide under his tongue, wincing as it slightly burned the inside of his mouth.
“Sorry we’re late.” Phoenix spoke mid-yawn as he and Miles hung their coats on the office coat rack; surely this meant yet another late night of going over case notes… that is, if it weren’t for Larry’s brilliant ruse. “Good news, though: the trial wrapped up today.”
What!?
“It actually wrapped up earlier today, but we needed to run some more errands.” Miles explained.
“Miles and I were actually–” Phoenix’s attention was soon grabbed by the sound of the beeping thermometer. “Larry?” He gently pulled the device from his boyfriend’s mouth and sighed at the numbers it displayed. “A hundred, on the dot.” He kissed Larry’s forehead. “Pretty low, so that’s probably why you don’t feel very warm…”
“If you’re feeling unwell enough to need to check your temperature, I’d say that alone calls for getting some rest.” Miles propped Larry up on his shoulder. “Let’s get you home. We can postpone tomorrow’s plans for a later date.”
“Wha–” Larry tried to ask what plans Miles was referring to, but his voice was just completely gone.
“Oh, geez.” Phoenix made a noise in sympathy. “Yeah, it wouldn’t be much fun riding a rollercoaster with that nasty case of…” He started to snicker.
“Darling, don’t.” Miles advised.
“Larry-ngitis.”
Larry instinctively glowered. He forgot how much Phoenix loved that pun whenever he lost his voice. First missing out on a roller coaster, and now this. Good grief!
“Of course, it could be something that will pass fairly quickly, like a 24-hour bug.” Miles speculated, much to Larry’s relief. “We’ll just have to see how you’re faring tomorrow.”
“Yeah, now that I think of it, it did come on fairly quickly.” If Phoenix was saying that out of suspicion, given the new circumstances, Larry would not have minded at all. “Maybe what you need is a nice hot cup of tea with lots of honey.”
That sounded so nice, to be allowed a night of pampering and an amusement park date with his boyfriends. It would be like that one saying, having a cake and eating it too, even though Larry didn’t quite understand what the point would be to have a cake and not eat it.
All he had to do now was hope his voice would be back in shape in the morning, and all would be well.
. . .
Alas, Larry’s voice was, in fact, not back in shape in the morning.
Well, at least he’ll have his day of pampering, which, he would have to sullenly admit, was not nearly as fun as a date at the amusement park.

“Ryan is being so unfair” your 12-year-old daughter Grace came stomping into your bedroom, nearly slamming the door on Van arguably on “accident”. “What’s wrong? What did Dad do?” you peeked over your shoulder from putting laundry away. Your kids only called Van anything other than “dad” when Van had pushed them to their limit. “Hey! Don’t call me Ryan!” Van would complain while following Grace into the bedroom. “She doesn’t want to invite Liam over for our Valentines Day party this weekend. She loves-” Van would start before being cut off by Grace jumping up top the bed and covering his mouth. “No, I don’t!”
Liam was one of Grace’s best friends from nursery school, partially of Van’s doing. Having kids left him among dull parents and yearning for anyone who would listen to or play music he liked. On Grace’s first day of school, he noticed Liam G. on the sign-in sheet and immediately questioned if his mum and dad were Oasis fans. Later that day Van had discovered his mum was a music photographer and dad played drums for a band. For the past 10 years they’ve been close family friends of yours. As Grace and Liam approached their teenage years, both of you had noticed a budding romance between them. Van knew an interesting plot was developing with Gallagher being so close. This was his one chance at being the most annoying dad his heart desired as nothing could ever shake up their bond.
“He always comes round for festivities. You two have such lovely times together.” You’d try to calm her down while you’d take a quick glance at Van, clearly plotting something to embarrass her. “Be kind to her. She won't let you come to their wedding if you upset her too much”. “Mum!” Grace would collapse onto your bed and crawl behind the pillows. “He’s cute but that's it! He’s still a boy!” she’d proceed, getting increasingly annoyed with the both of you. “Mum said the same about me. Woke up one day and found ourselves married with you and Leo in our house rent free” Van smirked at you as you looked down and shook your head in laughter. “You got me there, Mr. Charismatic Van McCann” you’d mock.
That weekend had your house overtaken by copious amounts of sugar. You were due to give birth anytime now and wanted soak in every single moment with your family before the new baby arrived. You and Van were on baking duty while the kids were making pink, purple and red icing. The previous year Van had made a batch of lovehearts biscuits with naughty sayings and sent the kids to school with them by accident. Ever since then, Van needed to be supervised with all creative family activities.
“I see your boyfriend’s mum and dad” Van would tease as Grace immediately darted into her room. “Don’t call him that! I’m not ready!” she’d shout and slam her door shut. Van’s shirt was covered in flour and had thrown on the nearest jumper he could find which was a “Lick Me” naughty Lovehearts jumper Larry had gifted him last year, not realising it wasn’t suitable for the kids. Liam noticed it as soon as the door opened and sniggered at Van. “What’s so funny young ‘un?” Van looked around before looking down at his shirt when LIam pointed at him. “Aw no!” Van buried his head in his hands, cursing under his breath followed by a breathy laugh.

Personally I always thought he was former MI6, either the best one or even the Chief, but he got incredibly bored of that life and went rogue. He’s still wanted by the crown.

I started reading Larry Kramer's Faggots without very high expectations, and it ended up completely captivating me. I'd been told it was badly written and a vehicle for cliché sex-negativity and, well, true, but there's something kind of beautiful about that, really.
the first thing that got me was that it's very funny. sometimes the humor is very juvenile; the whole book is obsessively scatological, but still:
“Do you know what Fred told me?”
“I don’t want to hear.” Ephra covered her ears.
“Some fegalim tinkle on each other!”
“I worry for him. He’s all alone. What will he do when he’s old like us? If there are so many fine fegalim in this city like he says, what’s his trouble?”
“His horoscope predicts great things for this year. Previously, I gather, his planets would not allow him to fall in love before he was thirty-five.”
“Is he not now thirty-nine?”
“It will now be easier for him.”
“Do they get married like people? What shall I get them for their house? Abe, it’s such a sordid life. I must confess something to you.”
“Confess.”
“I must confess to you that I’ve read they go and do it in the bushes and on islands and, would you believe, inside of trucks.”
“Where do you read this?”
“In the illustrated guidebook Fred gave to you and which you hide from me in your bottom drawer.”
“Ephra, please. Don’t burden your big heart.”
“Why would anyone want to make love in a truck?”
“Love is many things to many people. Love is very complicated. Love is a many-splendored thing.”

and if you stick around for the humor maybe you will find that the long run-on sentences are actually kind of enchanting. like it'll frequently go on for a page or more, not necessarily to any particular effect—the following is, yes, a climactic moment, but Kramer'll do this for anything, lost in the pleasure of stringing together participle phrases. and I can relate! it's fun! it's transgressive!

"two long planes of flesh layered together like some delectable French pastry"? disastrously bad image imo. but there's no full stop, so you just have to keep moving onwards, to the La Brea Tar Pits.
maybe I just lack discernment! I'm a sucker for people telling me I suck. but I really do feel like he was onto something less obvious than "there's more to life than sex" and less pointlessly specific than "these five things that gross me out (yet also turn me on) are bad." that conflict is a key part of it, though. the particulars of weird sex can be terrifying—the Nazi cosplayers at leather events, “twenty deaths last year from holes in the stomach” from fisting. but what's universally threatening is how they're still appealing. you're never safe from wanting something bad. there's a sense of inexorability, a feeling that the dread specter of Fetishism can only be delayed, never reversed or escaped entirely, because if you ever try it, just to see, then maybe you'll like it! and then you'll be trapped by your desire, spiraling helplessly down The Toilet Bowl, with a banana up your ass. you have to be deliberate in your purity, and everyone you know will be doing their best to drag you down... it's kind of a terrifying worldview! the humor deflates Fred's neuroticism a bit, but the tension never actually goes away.
oh also, as with probably many things from the 70s, it's kind of strange about race. the racism is so unfamiliar that I'm like, mostly convinced it's also satirical and that just doesn't translate to the modern day, but he's definitely weird about black people regardless. and trans people. like, nothing about this book makes me want to hang out with Larry Kramer. except it kind of does make me want to meet him, just to ask, like, am I getting it right? more than with most things I read I can feel the process of writing in this; the aimless plot and the clunky images make it feel approachable. so I want to know, more than usual, whether the things I'm getting are ones he was trying to give.

and MAJOR thanks to @goodshiplarrypop for asking my opinion on something?? It's rare and a fun lil treat! AND it's probably for the best that I'm not answering when this is actually the main discourse, bc as much as I do like sharing my thoughts I do NOT like being pulled into disc horsing around, really? That said. I'm putting my answer behind a cut:
I will preface this by saying that this is all my opinion and conjecture, and I don't expect anyone to agree with me. I'm also not interested in debating, so if you don't agree with me that's chill BUT I have no need to hear about it.
I think we've seen signs that Eleanor has been doing her own thing and developing a stronger work life for a while now. She's been working with a lot more brands, and honestly from what I can tell she seems to be having success as a luxury influencer. Her follower count is high enough and even with comments turned off on posts she still gets decent engagement in terms of likes and stuff.
It does appear to me that she loves animals, and I will be surprised if we don't see her with Cliff sometimes. A big part of me thinks that this ending is meant to be a "more mature" one for her and Louis-- they wanted different things and grew apart but still care for each other vs. him basically being a cheater party boy (or having that for her). If that's the approach they take, it could do a lot for allowing Louis down time-- lots of "will they get back together?" moments based simply on her proximity to him BUT allowing her the freedom to actually be out in the world with any man she's really seeing.
For Louis, this is a great chance to be Single and career focused, and honestly kinda makes his interactions with F over the past year+ make a lot more sense to me. I think it's entirely possible that the idea of hanging out with a kid every once in a while-- something Louis likes doing and is good at --might feel like a better use of his time than going on week long trip or doing a papped night out to feed into a straight guy narrative. And obviously timing-wise the January-January ending feels like something that's been planned and expected.
That said, is Aloucia coming asap? I mean. I would be surprised? But I often am! I have a feeling that it's meant more as a place holder, like maybe something more could connect them in a few months. Maybe it was a wink and a nod to anyone who pays attention to stunts. Maybe he likes pictures of fireworks! I truly don't know.
One thing for sure is that if she does happen to stunt with him, I plan on being really annoying and pointing out the ways that beards can't win and are treated horribly no matter what they do or how they do it. It's the one place where I feel like outside critique of larries actually holds water, and I just hate to see antis taking that W on us when we could honestly just thrive by saying less! OH ALSO i find it funny that half of Clexa and half of Larry could be "together" like WHAT IT THE ACTUAL FAN FICCING FUCK??? hilarious!!!! like reliving the 2010s!

Hello everyone!
I'm back with another drawing
I don't know about anyone else but I was a veggietales girl I ABSOLUTELY Loved veggietales when I was little from the animation to silly songs with Larry
In this drawing I drew some of my favorite veggietale characters and scene, one of them being a scene from esther one when the king is almost crushed by a piano and he gets warned before he could get crushed
And he moves out of the way before the piano could crush him and then he turns to haman and is "why is there a piano on my cake?" 😂😂😂😂
I used to think that scene was so funny when I was little and still find it rather humorous now If you have never seen a episode of veggietales before I recommend you watch it
It's one of those nostalgic shows you can rewatch and have a very good time rewatching it
As you can also see I drew madame blueberry and one of my favorites rack shack and benny
I don't know if it's just me but for the longest time when I was I little I used to call the actual bible characters rack shack and benny until I was able to say their actual bible names 😂
For those who have never seen this episode of veggietales this story is kinda more of a kid friendly version of the actual story of shadrach meshach and abednego who are were thrown into a fiery furnace for refusing bowing down to the false god made of gold long story short the story of rack shack and benny was teaching you not to follow what others tell you to do what you know is right and what god and your parents taught you and to stand up when you know something is wrong.
It's a really cute story and has a really good message and song 🎶🎶
Now the madame blueberry is a story that is not in the bible but is still a cute story it's a story about being thankful and in the story madame blueberry is one of the richest vegetables but is a so unhappy hence her name BLUEberry she has all these material things but she is not happy she cries all the time she's just blue and has a full song about it anyway long story short she learns to be thankful for what she has and how to be thankful
Like a said very cute story and age appropriate for young kids who need to learn about being thankful for everything they have.... And it has a very catchy song 🎶🎶
And now for the last and final story which is the esther story which my favorite veggietale story it's a story about being brave no matter how scary it is to never be afraid to do what's right for god is with you in this story it is much like the bible story of esther but more kid friendly if you don't watch was any of the veggietale stories I've said I really recommend this one it's really cute and was my favorite veggietale when I was little and still is....
And it also a really catchy song 🎶🎶😂😂😂

You know it’s funny because I’ve see other larries saying Eleanor is “vital” to Louis and that she needs to stay around and that she minds her business and does nothing - firstly the vital thing is bullshit and secondly she does nothing in terms of stunting now pre covid she was like just like Olivia and followed Louis everywhere you couldn’t escape her 😭 but the difference is Olivia supported his career lol and Eleanor always looks miserable and was on her phone…and since covid and her becoming active on insta again she’s been trolling the fandom it’s so petty and just such immature behaviour like girl cmon now
I feel like I fall in between your opinions and the others you mentioned. I don’t think Eleanor is at all vital to Louis or his image and I actually think the fact that he’s managed to get through an entire promo cycle for an album without mentioning her once is a great indication of that. I also wouldn’t say that I find her to be a total troll, but I do think she knows what she’s doing and does it intentionally. And you know what? You have to hand it to her because she’s successful. Louis and Eleanor haven’t been seen together in June and have rarely even been in the same city since then, but just by posting herself in his clothes, in his house, and with his dog, you have anybody who thinks Louis is with her confident in their belief that they’re still together and going strong.
Also, yeah, the lack of support from Eleanor is....annoying, even if you’re like me and don’t think they’re together. Louis gets support from almost nowhere and the fact that she has never acted interested in his solo career, not even for a single second, not even when he’s there in front of her performing....that’s ugly. People will hate on Olivia endlessly, but at least she acted like she enjoyed Harry’s performances and voiced support for him. And I’ve seen people claim that Eleanor just doesn’t support Louis because she receives hate for it, but if she’s still willing to post his house, his dogs, and his clothes, you’d think she could post a fucking story saying great album and congrats. Like???

(He took a step back, shock apparent in his voice and optics as her words settled in)

Animal House (1978)
National Lampoon’s Animal House is an important movie. You can see its influence in the many raunchy and gross-out comedies that attempted to ride on its coattails after its release. Countless films have either imitated its style or attempted to one-up its hijinks. It’s unapologetically vulgar and crass, memorable and often hilarious. It’s also horribly dated - we’re talking Breakfast at Tiffany’s dated - which makes it hard to recommend unless you’re from a certain era, or watching it for academic reasons.
In 1962, Faber College’s Dean Vernon Wormer (John Vernon) is fed up with the Delta Tau Chi "Animal House" Fraternity. It isn’t hard to see why. Its members are nothing but hard-partying, womanizing delinquents with low grade point averages and a knack for disobedience - unlike the prestigious, snooty, elitist Omega Theta Pi house, who hate them just as much as the Dean does.
Animal House doesn't have much of a plot. For 109 minutes, we follow various members of the fraternity as they go wild. New pledges Larry Kroger (Tom Hulce) and Kent Dorfman (Stephen Furst), the legendary John "Bluto" Blutarsky, motorcyclist/mechanic Daniel Simpson "D-Day" Day (Bruce McGill), chapter president Robert Hoover (James Widdoes), ladies’ man Eric "Otter" Stratton (Tim Matheson), and the only one with a steady girlfriend, Donald "Boon" Schoenstein (Peter Riegert) all go on the kind of adventures that you can’t believe someone committed to film in 1978. It’s essentially a series of sketches, many of which you see once and never forget. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I just need to say “the horse” and you start to crack up.
While the film doesn’t contain the kind of rampant misogyny many of its imitators attempted to mine for comedy (such as Porky’s)… it’s still got a problematic attitude towards women. If it were just one scene of Bluto peeking through a window to see ladies changing, it might be ok. The college students we see are all parading in their underwear while having a pillow fight, which is so outlandish it's funny. The problem is how many moments of this nature we see. Animal House has a scene in which a character has to seriously consider why having sex with an unconscious woman is a bad idea. It’s one rape joke too many but then there's another not too far away. Yikes.
I can’t blame anyone who gets offended at the homophobic jokes - all I can say is that’s just the way things were back then - or the racist jokes - times were different but things have changed, I swear. Even if you overlook them, the picture’s general attitude just doesn’t sit well today. You might not like the snobs in Omega Theta Pi but at least they’re good students. Animal House is filled with cheaters who take nothing seriously and then complain when the administration holds them accountable. Maybe fraternities mean a different thing in the United States than they do in Canada, or they were a bigger deal back in the day but it's hard to figure out why you should like the hooligans from Animal House at the end of the day.
If you’re curious and undeterred by the dated humor, there are plenty of funny gags and several of them produce big laughs. I just don’t know who this movie is for anymore. You’d have a difficult time looking at your female friends in the face after watching this film with them. With your kids? They’d be appalled. Even among your buddies, I suspect you’d find a larger-than-expected number of them who’d go “Hey man, this isn’t cool”. I'm glad I saw Animal House. Now that I have, I understand why the film was as influential as it was but I doubt I'll feel the need to revisit it. This makes me unsure if I recommend it or not. I suppose I do, if you know what you're getting into, at least so you can "get it" too. (On Blu-ray, July 23, 2021)

I think anon is overexaggerating about Nick saying he is straight many times. Context is really important. When he was doing PH him and Sofia didn't have a PR relationship but they played up to the cameras, like all actors do, to sell the movie. The media did the whole "are they or aren't they dating" thing. In an interview Nick made a comment about ex girlfriends and Sofia gave him a funny look. It threw her off lmao. Iirc he also made a comment about being straight during PH era. In his more recent interviews the interviewer was really pressuring him to talk about his sexuality and it was uncomfortable. The interviewer kept assuming his sexuality and he didn't correct them. Then there was a tweet about being an ally when he worked with GLAAD. I'm not saying that he isn't straight but I don't find that proof enough that he is, or him saying he had a crush on Anne Hathaway when he was younger or whatever. He hasn't said anything that Louis hasn't said when pressured to talk about his sexuality. So I'm still keeping an open mind. If he starts making out with women and shows sexual chemistry towards them then I'll change my mind. But not based on the context of the interviews alone. Would love to hear your opinion of the Variety interview Marte! Also, just like HL's fandoms he does have het fans who try and shut down any talk about his sexuality and ship him with every woman but at the moment they seem the minority. It might change as he gets more famous.

He’s not indebted to the queer community, he doesn’t owe us anything. He’s a character actor moving from one thing to the next and he does not care about whether or not the 46 larries that still exist will hype him up or promote his projects. The work he has coming out in the next year is going to catapult him far beyond what larries think fame is.

I have no horse in this race. Like i've said before i don't really mind what he identifies as. I just like him as an actor and as a person, from what i've come to know. And like i said just minutes ago, i haven't formed an opinion yet. Why would i lie about that? I could just say i think he's gay if i did? I don't form opinions on guesswork and stereotypes. And why are you so defensive? You do know that he still might be queer even if he's proclaimed himself to be straight mulitiple times? It wouldn't be the end of the world if he was queer. He'd still thrive and have a large fanbase who'd support him, including 46 larries. Even if that's not his goal.
And to you the first anon, i am inclined to agree. Context and knowledge on how the business operates is important. Saying that he had a crush on AH means little to me. He might be gay or bi/pan and closeted.

hello gaby... probably you have already been asked this question but in your other blog (R.I.P). How did you become a Larrie? how did you know about them?
Hi, it's a funny story actually haha. It's a real learning curve.
So, disclaimer, I'm from a very homophobic country (Hungary), where when I grew up I only saw mom-dad families therefore of course all of my core values came from my upbringing. Even today the vast majority of people who call themselves open are only good w gayness if they don't "flaunt it". I know it's horrible. But that is also fascinating in how the true love of 2 boys/men can change the view of someone who was by definition predominantly homophobic (this was me yes). So, I'd say, this country is not like USA where you can see bars, and trans people proudly dressing up on the street, which would normalize the experience, here in my country this is happening behind closed doors or in the very few gay clubs we have. And here no one even thinks of other sexuals, or other sexualities, so it's straight or gay. Genders? Male or female. No other box to tick or no "not wishes to share" boxes.
Alright enough of the disclaimer, here is the story:
I also was one of those bitches who teased Adam's niece for her love for 1D. (I know I know - as I said: learning curve)
It's important to note that I have this natural tendency to alienate myself from things that are popular, and I'm stubbornly not loving something just because it's popular. Things can grow on me of course (like in this story), but 1D was everywhere, they were pushed down on my throat, if you opened the basin 1D would come out instead of tap water, they were in my favorite movie's premiere, and I was like no, go away, that's MY movie, you're not even actors.. just no!
I took one look at Louis to deduct ok he's gay - it was not hard to deduct - and I know it's superficial, but again, I am from a homophobic country.
Then one fateful night at the end of March 2014 I happened to be in Holland for a business trip and in the hotel room alone I had some time to kill. So for the lack of a dvd player or good TV programs (everything was in Dutch!) I grabbed the laptop and I went on YouTube to find some videos, and I cannot say why, but I was like, let's check 1D's TXF performances out. At that point I never even heard them live, only via mainstream radio. So I checked the videos one by one and they were GOOD, they could SING, and that was surprising to me...
And as I went through the videos, I got a rec (not FIMQ) but a rec which had such a clickbait title, that even my previously stubborn, but now very curious self chose to watch.

It was this video, I can't believe it's still out there. So long story short, it took me 2 seconds to get convinced they really are in love. The video was kind enough to explain the then-valid situation that the fandom SUPPORTS them, and it's only the management/industry which is not letting them come out.
And this really started a huge turmoil in my head because on one hand I was taught something, it was ingrained in me that a family is mom and dad and a couple is a girl and a boy, but what I saw, it was so genuine, it was heartbreaking, and who the fuck decided that what they feel is wrong? So I started digging like a moron, and by moron I mean that I went to bed at 3 AM and my taxi was supposed to pick me up at 5 AM so I slept TWO hours, because I was sooo buried in my laptop, with so many tabs open, and so many question marks. As I said, it was very clear from the video they're genuine. The only question I had ok but are they still together, we wrote 2014, and the video was made in 2013 May, so it was already a year old when I watched it. Again, it didn't take long to find they were still very much real and they were about to start the WWA tour. So I jumped to tumblr, created a blog, learned the ins and outs of this hellsite, followed those whose posts were informative, and built my old blog.
I am now a very well known liberal in our family, I even went against the political views in my family, and my mom simply had to understand. I also told to Adam that when Lizi reaches a point of needing a talk, he'll support me in enlightening her of the world she's not seeing because it's still not normalized in this country, and we're trying to do a good job - she still says it's strange (m/m or f/f) - I tell her it's not something she sees but it's super normal and if she ever feels something is not okay with the mold this society wants to put her into, then it's okay, we're here, we're supporting her, she can count on us.
Back to the niece: I told her wow this Larry is a real thing do you know this? And she's like yeah they're friends, and btw Louis has a gf. I'm not sure if she mentioned Harry, but I specifically remember hearing Eleanor as a reason. And I'm like no honey they're a couple and her reaction made it pretty clear we're not on the same page. So I gave her time. WWA kicked off and me being me, I sent her some gifs, some vids, some links that come on, even the fool can see it's NOT platonic. I sent her tattoos, and you know what's funny, the more I kept digging, the more proof I found, which was undeniable like the tats, but it was not even the main thing that got me believe in them. And I think one of those complimentary tats was fresh as hell before WWA (I need to look at the tattoo timeline). I checked the timeline so in 2014 Jan H got the anchor and in March L already had the arrow...) And also Strong-Happily!!! Soon I got to know the real Louis Tomlinson and the real Harry Styles, and I became very invested that they make it, that they win, because they deserve it!
Back to Adam's niece: I gave her a bit of time to consume the content and the fact that those 2 are undeniably together and that E is a beard. I think a few months later she came around, we were at a family event, (covid what) and I just chatted w her and SHE brought Larry up, until then I strictly avoided it, and she's like I realized E is a beard and th boys are together. And my mom nature immediately kicking off: so are you supporting them? You know it's not right that just because they fell in love it isn't okay/normal/accepted. And she said yes I support them. I was sooo happy! We couldn't SHUT up after that, we were reminded several times that lunch is readyyyy, but we were like 2 whispering schoolgirls haha.
So, summa summarum, they changed me, they changed my whole attitude, they changed what had been ingrained in me by showing it's genuine, it's not this negative picture the government portray gay relationships, and my change affected my husband of course, and will affect our 2 daughters. I also told my mom that she should be open, because if I happen to be non-straight I expect her to love me just like she does today and I know she secretly changed her views too. At least being a bit more open. Everything is still so hidden here, you don't see people coming out, you don't see these examples that could set more examples and start an avalanche of co's, at least definitely not in the public world, so it's still a long way to go, but good news, the younger generation is so much more accepting and has a lot more liberal views than our grandparents and ancestors.
This became long as hell but it was good to go back to memory lane a bit.

Touch deprivation makes a lot of sense now that Harry thinks about it. Niall seems generally unwell; he appears to be weak, his skin is pallid and his lips look chapped, and his breathing is ragged. He’s wearing a cozy-looking sweatshirt, but even over FaceTime, he kind of seems cold, hunched over with his arms wrapped around his body. Harry’s never been around an omega in depri as bad off as Niall looks; most of the time, there’s an alpha friend or family member who can help out with scenting and physical contact.

Louis and Harry are obsessed with Liam Gallagher
Liam Gallagher, blink twice if you’re in danger.
Since Louis has been fangirling over Liam Gallagher/Oasis I thought I’d take a look at Liam’s solo work (yes, sorry, I hadn’t before) and oh boy
it sent me down spiraling, like anything involving either or both of the Mr Tomlinson’s does. There are quite the parallels.
I have to start off saying to please please not take me entirely serious. I’m just entertaining the idea there’s intent. Only with Walls we know there is, all the other stuff is meant to be funny above anything else.
Let me set the scene: me, a possibly slightly too far gone, like chuckles-at-pasta-expiring-on-september-28th-far-gone kinda person, starts watching Wall of Glass, Liam’s debut solo single. Thinks “oh this reminds me of Lights Up, but stop relating everything to Harry!”. And as that thought pops up, Liam just goes “ONE DIRECTION”
Wall of Glass, includes the text “You were sold the one direction, I believe the resurrection is on” with the music video looking like this, released 31 may 2017 (x)
followed by this directly after:

In 2019, Harry’s Lights Up music video contains the following:

The day the Wall of Glass released, Noel does his thing again and trashes Harry once more (x)

Perhaps it was because it had gotten some attention, or perhaps he really wanted to have it out there that there’s a link to 1D, because there’s another article the next day:

It could be about people that are into one fucking mind set, who I find pretty boring. There are obviously bits that could be about Noel. W- wha- You first draw parallels between you and Harry, include the line “one direction”, don’t dismiss it could be about 1d, the lyrics are this (not even considering the aggressive larry response a few years down the road) !?

Opinion time: I think since it was Liam’s first solo release since being in Oasis, a band Harry&Louis both love, it probably resonated deeply. I think all 3 songs (Wall of Glass, Lights Up, and Walls) in a way are about having been in a big band and now going solo, and having a poppy image of you sold for years, now stepping away from it and redefining who you are, perhaps with some bitterness towards those who have been selling and those who believe the poppy image (”you were sold the one direction, I believe the resurrection is on” / “this one is a thank you for what you did to me, why is it that thankyou’s are so often bittersweet” / “never going back now” “would be so sweet if things just stayed the same” poppy la la di da da”, but then there’s also, in all 3 songs again, a hint of secrecy (“You would keep the secrets in ya', You've been keeping paraphernalia things in your closet, oh” / Light’s up and they know who you are” / “and all that’s left of us is a cupboard full of clothes closet”). Anyway, let’s get back to some easier to process stuffs:
In 2019 (well, the pic wasn’t released until late 2020) we got picture proof of Harry and Liam hanging out. I’m not saying Louis took the picture but-

"It’s from Panzer’s Deli in St John’s Wood. It’s top fish."
And remember Walls? Louis just... gave Noel writing credits? Apparently without working together or even discussing it? (x)
The Oasis legend has been given a major credit on the 1D star’s debut solo album to avoid any plagiarism claims.
Louis’ new single Walls, which also happens to be the album title, credits Gallagher as “lyricist and composer”.
Any Oasis fans listening to Walls will hear elements from three Oasis classics, including Stop Crying Your Heart Out and Cast No Shadow.
The biggest similarity is with 1995 fan fave Acquiesce, whose chorus is practically identical. Louis was clearly aware of this and, to avoid a potential lawsuit, went to Noel for permission and got it – at a price.
He shared: “I was surprised when he approved it. Respect.”
Considering Noel will get a chunk of all royalties, I don’t think respect comes into it!
Louis has made no secret of his admiration for the Gallaghers and said: “Oasis is the best band in the world.
“They’re definitely [my] favourite band.”
But the feeling isn’t mutual as Noel once quipped: “Who gives a s**t what f***ing One Direction do? C***suckers.”
Back in 2013 hurt Louis hit back: “You expect him to be a k**b. He says s**t like that but that’s definitely what we would expect from someone like him. He’s predictable.”
Things seem different now and Louis even pays tribute to classic Oasis video Live Forever in his own Walls vid.

I can't even say that much because my feelings about it are so potent that everytime I see an update I try to tell myself to leave it alone to play larger portions of updates as a treat and everytime my willpower FAILS and I replay the demo like twice in a row)
Demon: Recollect ; Forsaken (WIP) - both by @bathalafiction (whew...WHEW!!! Are you kidding me?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Look. I was attached to Demon: Recollect. I loved it. And then I played the Forsaken WIP and now I can't get over my absolutely BOMB character design for my player persona. Also it's kind of fun being considered a jerk in the game, because it opens up a lot of different options that I usually feel bad about taking)

A Comedy of Manors (WIP) - @sviyaginthegreat (I kept replaying options that I hadn't chosen before because I wanted there to be more lmao)
Fallen Hero: Rebirth - @fallen-hero (I think there's a sequel coming up? I haven't stopped thinking about this storyline since I finished it omg... the.. the details are really good and I've become ridiculously attached to my tragic villain? Character... she IS the standard for my reusable IF persona, or at least one of my most prominent ones ;-D )
Samurai of Hyuga (WIP series) - (I'm pretty sure multiplechoicestudios.com is the development blog for this game, or at least what I've been checking for updates..... this is a series with four book currently out.... and I've been playing through book 4 at slower than a snail's pace in a desperate attempt to prolong my experience. I really didn't think I was going to like it as much as I did but I got a little too into it and now I'm horribly attached to all the characters)
The Porthecrawl Witness(WIP) - @porthecrawl-witness (I'm pretty sure this is a WIP?? But ugh. SCREEEEEE- it's so good. It's SO GOOD. I really want to punch Talbot in the face. And Asher, if for a different reason. And sort of Staci just to try. Quinn is just a cutie I could never hurt him like that. Ugh but they're all so good and I forgot that I was reading a WIP untill it suddenly was over..... I'mfeeling really aggressive rn as I'm writing this, so please just note that the punch comment is meant as a statement on how interesting the concept and immersiveness of the characters and story is)
Forgotten Names (WIP) - by Alexandra_Zorila on the CoG Forum (turn the volume up. AHHHHHHHHHH!!! Look, look. It's..... delicious. It's SO interesting and I obsessively have a tab open on my computer to check for updates)
OFNA: Birds of a Feather (WIP) - @ofna (the vibes are so grey and smoky but the fog is definitely from a party smoke machine and the room is only dark because the walls are taped with those huge sheets of black construction paper that teachers use to cover their bulletin boards with... the game definitely falls in the 'dark and mysterious' genre but something just strikes me as really funny when I play it. Anyway it's good and it's in a lot if recommended lists for a reason. Also I'm very attached to my American Goldfinch)
More Things in Heaven and Earth (WIP) - @morethingsgame (in the same way that it's fun to play Guenevere in the Guenevere game or Mordred in The Bastard of Camelot, playing Ophelia in the sort-of Hamlet story is really fun. If anyone has read the Missing collection- which I absolutely love- by Margaret Peterson Haddix, this gives me similar vibes for some reason. Anyway, I really want to give Hamlet a hug and make him a flower crown or something)
A Tale of Crowns (WIP) - @ataleofcrowns (It's kind of not even funny how much I love this game... It's hard to even describe why I like it, just that it's so well rounded in terms of the story, characters, dialogue, and relationships. It's such an interesting plotline and it's pretty immersive. Also the first time I read the demo, there was an update as I was reading and the high that sent me on has very rarely been matched. Also Dara running to save my Crown in the tunnel?? 🤚😩🤭💓 ugh. UGH!! That's good food for my fool heart)
Scout: An Apocalypse Story (WIP)- @anya-dev (I'm usually not that into apocalypse themes/plots but I really enjoyed this game, and the plot was very good and intruiging... it really pulled me in and I like my character in the story a lot. I don't know why but it tastes like chikuwa, atsuage, and this specific type of carmelized onions that my mom makes sometimes)
Nothing left to burn (WIP)- @clowdee-works (......ouch. I *knew* what was going to happen and I STILL became attached to Drew)
Smoke and Velvet - @roast-ifs (It's good. And I am VEDY much into my character design. Also the story is really interesting, and I enjoy the setting a lot somehow)
Speaker (WIP)- @speakergame (very fun to play, and each update gets me more interested in the aspects of the plot. I also really like the little descriptions of what the characters think of the player)
The Nameless (WIP)- @parkerlyn (interesting plot, I like the characters a lot, and The aesthetics of this world are so interesting. Definitely had a good time visualizing what everything looked like)
Fields of Asphodel (WIP) - @asphodelgame (I think it's really cute so far!!! I like mythology in general, and the persephone/hades dynamic is *mwah!*... I like the way the story progresses in the beginning, and I think it works well in drawing the reader into the world. I also very much enjoy petting large dogs.)
...there are so much more.. and I have followed so many blogs.........
I'm not sure why I can't find it rn but there's this one WIP game that I really like where the MC buys a manor for like dollar and moves to go live there with her best friend and shenanigans ensue as they try to settle in and fix up the estate
Harbringer (WIP) - @harbringercog (....are you KIDDING me?? I was fully planning on just enjoying the demo and keeping a mental note to update the list sometime later,,, but this game... THIS GAME really made me fold. It's very immersive and regardless of how nervous the author claims to be after releasing the demo, it's of my humble opinion that those nerves can be calmed. It's very good. I was planning on procrastinating and reading a little bit and then going back to this essay I need to write, but somehow I got pulled in and ended up reading through the whole demo and it's apparent that I honestly had no chance of getting through this without becoming invested in the plot.... just... so good.. I'm very excited to see how this will progress)
Visual Novels:
Andromeda 6 (WIP) - @andromeda-six (I repeat: Obsessed, I come back every few months to see an update and I fall deeper into the hole every time...)
To the Edge of the Sky (WIP,, probably) - by Ajané (??) on Steam (I think, it’s been a while)
Next on my list to check out: Perfumare by pdrrook
Does.... does The Arcana game by Nix Hydra count as VN?? If so, then yes.
Similarly, the FictIF games are all entertaining, although Last Legacy and Heir to Love and Lies are my favorites rn (and.....unfinished....)
I also don't know if this counts, because I kind of consider Otome games to be their own genre, but on the Love 365: find your story by Voltage Inc. There are a bunch of fun stories, my favorite of which are: the Shinichi Kagari route on After School Affairs and the Saejima and Keiichiro routes on Bad Boys do it Better
