Passing on advice I received growing up as someone who grew up around alternative adults of several flavors and heavily tattooed folks with "job killer" tattoos (and was raised by one such person!) that I have had to put into practice as someone who is alternative themself now:
If you are a young alternative person, it cannot be understated how important having a couple "normie" pieces of clothes in your closet "just in case" is.
Sometimes you will have a job interview, a doctor's appointment, a housing application, or some other kind of obligation where for your own safety and security you need to tone yourself down for a brief period of time.
It's not fair. It's bullshit. But sometimes you have to eat your vegetables you know? And it's a cost benefit analysis and it depends on the things you personally prioritize in your own life, but sometimes minor sacrifices have to be made in order to keep yourself safe and get yourself things you need to do so.

I can't stop thinking about Blade saying gifts are unfamiliar.
And I can't stop thinking about Kafka and Silver Wolf, hearing that, and making it a mission to bring him gifts whenever they travel somewhere for their script - even if he's there with them. About the confusion in his eyes when they steal buy something and turn right around to hand it to him.
About his room starting out completely empty except for the bare minimum necessities, a few spare clothes and what he needs to take care his Shard Sword, but filling up with little trinkets and gifts over time. Clothes and jewelry and perfume from Kafka and posters, figures and plushies from Silver Wolf. About them also bringing food back, expensive specialties swiped from a restaurant and the weirdest option they could spot in a lone vending machine, a category of gifts that doesn't leave anything behind (except the photos they both take of the three of them eating together, or of the faces he makes when Silver Wolf manages to trick him into trying a suspicious snack while he's distracted with polishing his weapon).
About Kafka spending hours finding clothes and jewelry she thinks would suit him, because that's her love language. She gets him makeup too, refusing to let his good looks go to waste. She knows he can't put it on himself, they both do, and he doesn't care for his appearance enough otherwise - but he'll let her do his makeup for him anyway, because she enjoys it, and because he finds it soothing.
About Silver Wolf also buying him clothes, but the ones she gets aren't his style at all, and just barely his size. She gets them for him, but just so she can steal them right back - her love language is quality time, and she fills Blade's room with gifts she can borrow along with a moment of his day. It still counts as a gift, she insists, practically swimming in an oversized jacket she swiped from his closet.
About how in another life, Yingxing gave gifts to the people he loved and in this one, Blade receives them from those who love him.

[un-screwbacks the Victorian earrings you converted during the 1910s-1960s moral panic about women piercing their ears, to wear them in my slutty immoral un-American earlobe holes] fuck you

Hi, it's me, the person who is very susceptible to sales, especially when they're ONE DAY ONLY. So here I am with the RockLove TVA stopwatch necklace that I told myself not to buy. 🤡
It's very pretty but I don't know when I'd wear it! The second my partner sees it, he's just going to shake his head. No judging, but he will perceive me to my very core.
We just had this conversation:
Him: How many times have you watched Loki?
Me: ...a few?
Him: I thought so. You usually don't buy stuff unless you've watched a show a lot.
Me: (thinking) Oh no, he noticed the 'stuff'...
Anyway, it's a very cool necklace but I can't help wishing they had released a pocket watch, which I'd feel better having but not carrying around. I imagine this was a more marketable idea.
ETA: more pictures to show the width and chain. I also forgot to mention that the arrow spins, which is a very cool detail. I tried it on and I do like how it hangs lower than the collarbone so maybe I'll have to suck it up and endure my partner's perceiving gaze when I wear it.

Most of the time it's not that big of a deal, my symptoms are mild and I have ways to work around it in most areas. But sometimes my lack of coordination and fine motor skills is really really annoying. I feel really happy when I look pretty, and want to do things like braid my hair or paint my nails or wear makeup or put on clip-on earrings or do jewelry clasps or do up little buttons or whatever. And I can't do any of that stuff easily, and some of it I can't do at all. I don't have the tremor in my hands I had when I was on lithium, at least, that sucked. But my coordination and motor skills are still pretty poor and it makes it really hard to do a lot of things like that, and it's just frustrating. I'm trying to learn how anyway but I just wish it was easier.

Ship + 1 word prompt: StaticMoth + upgrade
"And you can feel this?" Valentino asked as he traced a gold-tipped claw over the glowing freckles dotting Vox's new skin.
Vox grinned up at Valentino, screen brightening with excitement as he shivered from the new sensation: "Every touch," he confirmed. Since manifesting in Hell, he'd had a sixth sense for electricity – although calling it a "sixth" sense felt disingenuous when he'd lost so many other senses due to his technological body – but this was so much more sensitive, allowing him to feel Val's gentle touch instead of just knowing he was close enough to do so but having to rely on visual inputs to see exactly what he was doing when Vox wasn't being bodily manhandled into position. The synthetic electrosensory system had been years in development, having thrown Baxter onto the project the moment Vox realized that technology had possibly advanced enough to create the miniscule array that was now imbedded in the flesh-like material covering the layers of unfeeling, rubber-coated wires his body was created from. It wasn't the same as nerves, only sensing the electric currents given off by everyone else's nervous system instead of any degree of temperature or pressure or texture or the usual sensations that real skin offered, but the very idea of getting some amount of sensation back had been too exciting to pass up, especially with Valentino eager to help him run the beta test on it.
[Send me a ship or character(s) + a word and I'll write a five sentence fic!]
