yuuta exhibits such previously abandoned, recently adopted dog behavior. incredibly anxious all the time, even though nobody’s out to get him or leave him behind. waits for you to return home or from school or from work excitedly, just to see you when you walk through the door. follows you around senselessly, hovering in your space just for the sake of companionship. initiates affection in prodding ways—starts off next to you, then a hand on your thigh, then deems it safe to lay all the way down, then slowly pushes his head into your lap. gets up whenever you need to get up, and resumes his position as soon as you’re ready. brings you gifts as a sign that he’s thinking of you, and maybe because he likes the affection it brings out in you, maybe because he likes the gentle affirming touches of a hand in his hair or a pinch to his cheek. rests his head on your stomach or his chin on your shoulder when he’s sleepy, stays there, immobile, and will not move unless absolutely necessary. sometimes he gets surprised when he hears you calling for him, there’s a moment of disbelief as he thinks “me? really? you need me?” but it’s very quickly overshadowed by this compulsive need to show up, to please, to do anything for you, which is why he always answers when you call. he doesn’t realize that he has puppygod eyes, especially when he’s excited or confused, but he does and it’s incredible endearing. very reluctant to share your space or attention after a while, considers that to be sacred and he won’t risk being let go or lost again, so as a safety precaution, he keeps himself right by you, waits for you always.

im gonna meet my new roommate this weekend........i hope that they r normal

#for context last yr (or this yr . but last school yr) i had the most insane roommate#she was like an insane clean freak and she was also really loud and kept moving my stuff and I SUSPECT she even stole smth but idk#she also lied to me a lot and attempted to gaslight me to turn me on our other housemates . she made me cry multiple times </3#i lived in an apt of 5 ppl and everyone all hated her but i shared a room with her. and the thing is that they all liked Me but not Her#so whenever there were arguments id end up having to be the middle ground like even when i went home for summer vacation#i was called over on the phone to solve household disputes bc yknow she only listened to me and i was the only person capable of not-#-like blowing up on her bc she'd say some pretty unreasonable things sometimes and my other housemates r all pretty hotheaded#(my roomie included) but i . i do not get angry like ever so im able to calmly deal with things#when i tell you i do not get angry ever im so srs i know i say shit on here but my housemates have never seen me angry even once in 2 yrs#but anyways sometimes my housemates take me out for drinks and theyre like are u sure ur okay lan how do u live with her 💀💀#anyways yeah last yr was a shitshow i hope my roommate this yr is normal like just the bare minimum is fine#ive only ever had insane roommates like my first roommate was a party animal and shed come home drunk at like 4 am#there was even a pregnancy scare once but anyways at least i got along with her rly well#i miss her actually :(((#my second roommate tho. she scares me

on one hand I wanna write my fic ideas wherein my marvel oc gets sent to the alternate universe of Gotham and hijinks ensue whilst she tries to survive and get back and the batfam and such slowly learn more info abt her world and how it's being threatened atm and she needs to go back and help and whatnot.
But on the other hand, the readers wouldn't know the marvel related backstory of this OC and would have. No context for her going in
But ALSO then the readers would know abt as much abt this mysterious figure as the batcrew do, and get to learn via flash backs and her slowly revealing info to them as safety allows
Then there's also just a general. Idk if there's any sort of oc etiquette when it comes to writing oc centered fics? My brain goes so hogwild when I read anything that I usually avoid oc fics other people write just bc I usually read and enjoy fics at face value but I also go "now what would happen if this OC was here?" And that gets real complicated when other people's ocs are involved

not to be the guy complaining about can.on/can.on ships but really shipping Charlie with anyone in canon is so. like. it makes me sad. not out of jealousy or anything but just because everyone around him in canon is so cruel and mean to him and he doesn't deserve to be treated badly for the rest of his life

whats tough about like. Having Chemistry and spending time with someone at the start of the spring semester is that valentines day is coming up and its like a make or break point with what you may or may not Be and you have to question what direction things are headed in and its a pressure just Not present in the fall semester idk. idk
#we uhhhh. kinda hit a bump in the road ...... idk.#hes. been very gentle and kind and understanding about where im coming from and so we havent talked in a couple days but just ....#god ok fuck it. we were hanging out saturday night and at some point we were going somewhere where parking sucked so i just suggested we go#in his car rather than separate bc finding parking for ONE car is a Struggle. anyways so afterwards we went back to where i parked my car#and i hahahhaaaaa was NOT leaving. it was just past midnight and so we were just hanging in his car talking for abt an hour#in there at some point i told him about that last crush and how it dragged on and he was like jesus CHRIST sia thats a lot#i was reclined in my seat and shutting my eyes listening to the music and i caught him looking at me a couple times andddddd uh#yeah basically i ended up in his lap and then we were kissing and touching and grinding for like the next hour and a half#and he asked if i wanted to go back to my place and i was like uhhhhhhhhhhhh not now so we stayed in there and just made out & talked more#and then he TOLD me. basically hes in a similar situation i was in this time last year. like a girl he liked and was talking to actually#has a bf. hes sorta in limbo and she still talks to bim and is stringing him along and playing off his hopes theyll get together for.#entertainment ig. everyone at this school is fantastic btw. jesus fucking christ.#so yeah he told me bc he said he didnt wanna hurt me or end up fucking me over and that i deserved full honesty and didnt want to get my#hopes up. which i REALLY appreciate. we talked for 8 days he got carried away once and immediately owned up. i do appreciate that#so like. he said that we can just be friends with or without benefits and i said id think about it. then at like 3 am we went home and he#check in with me to make sure i was alright since he could tell i had a LOT on my mind. i said id call him the next day and so we talked#and basically i explained the reason for my apprehensions and why i said no to hooking up (csa) and he was really understanding#and then like. i just asked him more about what was going through his head the night before & he described it as a heat of the moment thing#(which i agree it was) and like. he was genuinely concerned about me tho. idk#i told him that after i got home i had to shower for an hour scrubbyat every place he touched me and that im tired of feeling used#and he really heard me out and listened. he also asked if he hurt me and i said no but it def could have gotten to that point and i#and so he said 'im sorry for making your life at all hafrder to deal with' and i REALLY really#appreciate him being as honest as he was. so i said its cool we can be friends but i just need some space rn & he once again was really#understanding & said 'for as long as you need. just let me know whenever youre ready to just be friends again & if you need me to stay sway#from [xyz places we hung out] just let me know and if you need anything for class just feel free to reach out'#and. GOD i appreciate him. so that convo closed out on good terms. i was worried id need WEEKS but it rlly was just a few hours after that#i was ok again. traumas all about narratives and before that convo all i could see was another instance i was usee but like.#after actually talking it out all the fear around it dissipated and i can just see it for what it was: 2 friends who got carried away#but i really REALLY appreciate how hes handled this and we're both single & attracted to each other and so the question im thinking now is:#crushposting

i watched alien (1979) with my partner a few days ago and goddamn this evil space cargo ship company can fit so many sci-fi osha violations in it
#engineering school has made it impossible to not find design flaws in every movie i watch#i know all of it is designed to get the characters where they need to be for the story to work#but also#why does the escape shuttle not have enough room to take the entire crew#you have seven people and a cat in the crew you need enough room on the space shuttle to take seven people and a cat#come on we learned this lesson after the titanic#also why is a cat even on the space cargo ship and given free reign#i know the answer is 'because the crew likes cats' but also what if that thing chews on the wires#also why is the mechanism to self destruct the cargo ship not in the escape shuttle itself#why does ripley have to trigger the mechanism and then run like halfway across the ship to get on the shuttle#bro what if she trips your ten minutes of leeway would not be enough for the crew to all get on the shuttle before the self destruct sequenc#also ripley was like. reading the instruction manual on how to trigger that self destruct#girl who trained you? if the ship has a self destruct sequence you need to learn this in work safety training#again i know i know its to make the story more dramatic#this movie is good and the actual emotional beats are not lost on me#still fun to poke fun at it tho bc if i dont id get kind of scared since i dont do well with horror#my partner says maybe in the distant future of the 2030s the space cargo ship company bought osha and yeah that tracks#the real horrifying alien was capitalism and the osha violations we made along the way#alien (1979)#the crew of the nostromo needs to unionize and lobby for better employee safety training#shut up pandora

Enkyla E042 aka Kells
Her Spartan armor is red and she prefers to melee when possible, and snipe when she can't melee. Legend has it she fought a Gúta with just her armor on and won. While that can't be proved, what CAN be proved is she somehow impressed a Sangheili warrior in the midst of battle enough that he ended up falling for her, though they'd fight each other many times before settling down. Kells claims it was her sense of humor that finally lured him in, and Naqi looks pained whenever he's asked how it happened. Nonetheless, the two share a strong bond and care deeply for each other. Though the amount of times they nearly killed one another before getting together is a bit... alarming.
Taller than most of the people around her, and stronger as well for being a Spartan, Kells is fairly no-nonsense and straightforward. She doesn't get embarrassed easily and tends to ignore ribbing from others. She's actually quite solitary, though once she bonds with someone it's air-tight. She's never been loud but after losing so many of her team, despite their newness to her, on Reach has led to her being even quieter. She's had difficulties getting attached to others since being recovered from Reach; the only true companion she's found is Naqi, and she refuses to entertain an AI. Her expression is most often flat and impenetrable, though it's not uncommon to see a smile on her face when she speaks to Qey.

She looks unfortunately Gideon-like to me tho#Anatomy isn't perfect (I see lots to fix now rip) but I do love how my humans are coming along#Noble six oc#If you look closely at her neck there is a Naqi love bite#She's also got a massive scar on her chest from where she was pierced by an energy sword on reach and nearly died#She is the hospital 'i lived bitch' meme#Also she does have a right eye. I just didn't feel like drawing it. It's got diminished sight due to the damage done on reach#But it's still there. She also has more scars but I didn't feel like designing and drawing more than I did#She's my giant woman and I smooch her forehead gently

Before, my datemate and I were considering adopting a second cat once we move into our new apartment but now we're thinking about getting a dog instead 👀
#I'd personally like to adopt from a shelter#but my datemate suggested we either get a corgi or shiba inu instead#I've been doing a fuck ton of research on the two (dogs are my biggest special interest so this has been incredibly fun)#and we're starting to lean towards getting a cardigan welsh corgi#Im still interested in adoption tho so if I can't persuade my datemate that adopting a shelter mutt is better#I'd like to look into corgi rescues and see if we can get our new baby that way#save a life and give a dog a second chance yknow?#especially with how shady a lot breeders are its probably a little safer going this route#investing our love a d time helping a dog who needs a home vs buying a puppy who could potentially be coming from a bad place#that isn't to say I won't be doing a shit ton of research and investigation if we decide to adopt thru a breeder instead#if we do I will be asking to know and see the dog's family history of illnesses finding out death ages of related dogs#as well as insisting upon meeting the puppy in person along with their littermates and mother to see their conditions and their living spac#I will also do online research of the breeder themself and perhaps get in contact with other adopters of dogs they've sold#to see if any issues have been found with dogs from previous litters#my datemate's mom is also a dog trainer/groomer and former show dog owner and breeder so she has connections#and will be able to help us find someone who adopts out clean healthy puppies#she might also help us with training (which I will rightly compensate her for. we aren't moochers)#sp if we do shop instead pf adopt it will be done responsibly#but we're not that far yet. we aren't even 100% sure about getting a dog#rn this is all hypothetical#sam's rants about life

currently 500 pages into rhythm of war, am enjoying the things im enjoying very deeply (mostly shallan and adolin. and veil and radiant and shallan’s dynamics. and kal but thats easy because he’s my favourite character and besides isn’t even hitting that hard in this one its just that everything he does is everything to me) but so much of it also is just such a slog and idk if it’s me because i usually set aside a day to read like 80% of the book in one go or if it’s the fact that a friend has now also read stormlight and shared some opinions w me that i dont disagree with or if its the book itself but like. navani is such a boring POV character and adolin’s reduction down to his fashion sensibilities is a snore and the bridgemen are practically absent so kal doesn’t even have anyone to endear him even more to me and even venli’s just too like. cautious to have anything going for her. like fr the only person i don’t have any sort of a complaint towards as of rn is shallan
