do you ever just remember how one of the most effective things parvis said to get silence to lose faith in saria was essentially "do you really think she would ever choose YOU over everything?" and silence with her low self esteem really didn't believe saria would.

Then in the end saria really did choose them over everything, left her defense director job and her whole life up to that point behind for the sake of silence and ifrit. and silence still doesnt even know. do you ever think about that and lose your mind a little bit.

the art im making is for if mdzs was an ace attorney game, playing from WWX's POV to solve various mysteries/cases over the course of the plot. so this scene would be from turnabout goddess, which would loosely cover the dafan mountain mystery.

Turnabout Revenge (Mo Manor, quick introductory first case)

Turnabout Goddess (Dafan mountain, the good times flashback)

Turnabout Saber (the man-eating castle (omg hiii nhs))

The Blind Turnabout (Yi City arc)

Turnabout Deviation (the Koi Tower conference, Empathy on NMJ ala turnabout memories or beginnings. opening cutscene is his qi deviation)

The Blood-Soaked Turnabout (second Burial Mounds siege, flashbacks: Xuanwu, Sunshot, YLLZ, Nightless City massacre)

Turnabout Lotus Seeds (testimony about JGY, tree scene, golden core reveal, bathtub scene. opening cutscene could be JGS' death but that would make it canon rather than ambiguous)

Turnabout Confession (Guanyin temple)

the problem with splitting novel!mdzs into turnabouts is that flashbacks are a huge chunk of the book but they don't have mysteries/ cases to solve so they've gotta be lumped together with present day stuff. imo? many of the flashbacks would likely have to be abridged so they could be retold ala DL-6, SL-9, or the fourth grade incident, where characters talk about it over some pieces of art. this is really difficult when theres a metric ton of unspoken, complex, and signifcant history between every character lmao

there's not as much of a problem with the cql timeline but i have not finished it. so.

the opening cutscenes in ace attorney always show the murder and/or the murderer plotting. the first cutscene of the game would be MXY summoning WWX, muttering about getting revenge on his family (it would also be good for him to mention the yllz being dead because that's how the novel starts.) cut to WWX's POV as he wakes up covered in blood and the investigation segment begins.

for investigations of monsters (goddess, saber, etc) the cutscene would be a scene of some poor throwaway cultivator getting their shit wrecked.

it would be cool to make a breakdown for JGY but again I need to review that scene cause I don't know who I'd base him on. maybe Vasquez or Dahlia.

If we put aside the racism, the book Hunchback of Notre Dame (by Hugo) is such a good account of how a teenage girl gets taken advantage of by different adult men who use their experience, their older age, their fame and their power, to use her for sex (Phoebus) or to prey on her and force her to sleep with them, only to kill her when she refuses (Frollo), how married men will see their wives as trophies and objects and will sleep with girls they don't care about (Phoebus again), how that teenage girl grows up in a society that grooms her to think older, powerful men are to be desired, and how Romani teenage girls are eroticized and seen as exotic (which... Hugo himself is guilty of that...).

Disney mostly corrected the racism that was in the book but they completely removed any criticism of heterosexual love that was in it. They could have taken it and gone further and made it feminist, but no, they completely removed it. Now, Esmeralda is an (adult? i sure hope she isn't supposed to be a teenager) hottie who is probably the most sexualized Disney character to have ever existed (like... she does a pole dance then flashes her genitals at Frollo's face) and her relationship with Phoebus is portrayed as pure and healthy (despite their unequal places in society). Hunchback of Notre Dame misses so many marks and could have been so much better than what we've got. I have no idea why Disney decided to adapt that story for their movies and I have no idea why they decided to turn it the way they did

i hate all social media and it's consistent prioritising the advertisers over the users and the internet simply was a better place before capitalism sunk its hooks into it

Man I'm STILL thinking about the whole thing with the Professor(s) in Scarlet/Violet

Learning that a character who we thought we've been talking to for an entire storyline has actually been dead the whole game & we've just been talking to an AI version of them the whole time is an experience

And they don't even try to sugarcoat it, either. It is openly stated in-game that the real professor is dead. It's not one of those things where it's only implied and/or you have to read between the lines to figure it out because they don't want to talk about death in a kids game

Like, it was kinda inevitable that we'd eventually get a Pokémon game where the professor was also a villain, but at no point did I ever suspect that we would get a professor who was the villain, but that also the professor we've been talking to the whole time was an AI who wanted to stop their dead creator's plan

I wonder if the DLC is also going to have any story details that will make me have to sit and think about things every time I remember it

have spent the last few days indulging in the straightest of my interests (bridgerton) and oh my god i really don’t care what anyone else is saying, season 3 is my favourite BY FAR. season 1 one was ok, season 2 was great, but this… this was made for me. penelope trying her best to fit in but still feeling so aware of the opinions of others that she struggles to feel comfortable. colin trying to change who he is as a person to fit into what society expects him to be. both of them being able to properly be themselves in each others presence. I have never needed two people to kiss more in my entire life WOW. also all the side plots! the featherington sisters being hilarious! violet getting a second chance at romance! eloise + cressida! FRANCESCA (i’m obsessed with her)! all in all, 10/10

When Robin was first introduced, she had been working with Crocodile in Alabasta for the past several years, so I could understand her skin tone being a little lighter than it used to be, but not this bad.

It's extremely fucked up. I would understand the "it was an animation error" argument if it wasn't because it happens with all the characters (not only Robin) and they're whiter and whiter each episode (even the characters that should be black).

If we follow irl reasoning as you say, then all of them should be tanned because they're pirates. They're constantly under the sun. But no, they go backward and instead, they lack melanin every episode. It was already bad, but Egghead fucked up big time.

And don't get me started on Usopp because people could use that excuse on any other character, but Usopp?? I truly, really, don't think it takes too much thinking to get that he's black and Toei just keeps making him paler than Sanji. It's ridiculous and racist and people who ignore it or say it's been talked "too much" (because people say it and apparently there's a limit for them as to how much you can complain about racism) always get on my nerves.

What Toei is doing is just disgusting and people defending it are always the ones who refuse to see any mistakes in the things they like. News flash! You can like something and admit it has mistakes.

there is no escaping him. scara is one of those characters with an infinite horizon of possibilities, stretching on as far as the eye can see. one idea leads to another... which can be built into something new... that develops in x way... he has so many interesting themes surrounding him. i think i've said it before but i'll say it again, scara is a writer's d r e a m. man(doll) vs god, greed leading to one's downfall, heartbreak, disillusionment, loss of innocence, betrayal, pride, rebirth, on and on the list goes.
