While we are discussing Nyaruto, the descriptions of the cats on the Nyaruto website make me insane (complimentary). Whoever wrote these, I am nodding and shaking your hand.

Songs that remind me of One Piece ships and why.
Lets start with:
Luffy x Boa - Addicted to you by Avicii
I think this songs describes Boa's obsession with luffy very well.
"You came into my crazy world Like a cool and cleansing wave Before I, I knew what hit me, baby You were flowing through my veins"
What can she do? It's Luffy :D
Sanji x Pudding - Stereo Love by Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina.
This song describes a bit the pain that Sanji went trough in Whole Cake Island, with Pudding's lies, yet he still tried to make it work. :(
"I can fix all those lies But baby, when I run, I'm running to you You won't see me cry, I'm hiding inside My heart is in pain but I'm smiling for you"
Usopp x Kaya - If you're not the one by Daniel Bedingfield.
Because in my heart, Usopp thinks about Kaya every sigle day and he loves her.
'Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away And I breathe you into my heart and Pray for the strength to stand today 'Cause I love you, whether it's wrong or right And though I can't be with you tonight You know my heart is by your side"
Robin x Law - Mirrors by Justin Timberlake.
Because of their similar past and personality. They have been trough a lot of pain, but Robin was healed in a way that Law wasn't yet, and In my delulu mind she can heal him.
"It's like you're my mirror My mirror staring back at me I couldn't get any bigger With anyone else beside me And now it's clear as this promise That we're making two reflections into one 'Cause it's like you're my mirror My mirror staring back at me Staring back at me"
Zoro x Tashigi - Another Love by Tom Odell.
Because the main reason why people ship them, is because zoro finds tashigi similar to Kuina, and it doesn't matter how their relationship will develop tbh, I think he will always see her as someone similar to Kuina.
"I wanna sing a song that'd be just ours But I sang 'em all to another heart And I wanna cry, I wanna fall in love But all my tears have been used up
On another love, another love All my tears have been used up On another love, another love"
Franky x Robin - We found love by Rihanna.
Because they met on a sea train on the way for their execution, and they did have some great moments there :)
"Yellow diamonds in the light Now we're standing side by side As your shadow crosses mine What it takes to come alive
It's the way I'm feeling I just can't deny But I've gotta let it go
We found love in a hopeless place"
Nami x Luffy - Believer by Imagine Dragons.
Because she was broken, but he made her a believer.
"I was broken from a young age Taking my sulking to the masses Writing my poems for the few That look at me, took to me, shook to me, feeling me Singing from heartache from the pain Taking my message from the veins Speaking my lesson from the brain Seeing the beauty through the...
Pain! You made me a, you made me a believer, believer"
Ace x Yamato - Thousand Years by Christina Perri.
Because Yamato was waiting for Ace to return, and he would still be waiting...
"I have died every day waiting for you Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more"
Zoro x Sanji - One more night by Maroon 5.
Because they are always fighting :D If they are a thing, this is their song.
"You and I go hard At each other like we're going to war You and I go rough We keep throwing things and slamming the doors You and I get so damn dysfunctional we stop keeping score You and I get sick Yeah, I know that we can't do this no more, yeah
But baby, there you go again, there you go again making me love you Yeah, I stopped using my head, using my head"
Sanji x Nami - What are words by Chris Medina.
Because it doesn't matter where, when or how. Sanji will Always be there for nami.
"Anywhere you are, I am near Anywhere you go, I'll be there Anytime you whisper my name, you'll see How every single promise I'll keep 'Cause what kind of guy would I be If I was to leave when you need me most"
Zoro x Robin - She's crazy but she's mine by Alex Sparrow.
Because she's crazy, and he always saves her when she's in danger.
"The kinda girl who really loves to dance She loves to mess around with her friends Wanna know her now, wanna love her now I wanna make her be my girl She likes to give a smile to every stranger She loves to get her ass in any danger Wanna love her now, wanna love her now I wanna make her be my girl"
Hiyori x Zoro - Make you feel my love by Adele.
Because she fell in love for him in Wano and was always worried about him and took care of him when he was hurt, but he had to leave.
"When the rain is blowing in your face And the whole world is on your case I could offer you a warm embrace To make you feel my love
When the evening shadows and the stars appear And there is no one there to dry your tears I could hold you for a million years To make you feel my love
I know you haven't made your mind up yet But I will never do you wrong I've known it from the moment that we met No doubt in my mind where you belong"
Koala x Sabo - Can't help falling In love by Elvis Presley.
It's a simple yet beautiful song, as we haven't seen much about them, but I do think Koala couldn't help but falling in love with sabo. :)
"Take my hand Take my whole life, too For I can't help falling in love with you"
I probably forgot a lot of popular ships, tell me what you'd like me to write about next! Don't forget to give me your opinion and other songs for this ships!

Once a Year
Story originally published in the @ophalloweenzine! :D
[ Read on AO3 | Ko-Fi ]
----------
There were thousands of islands across the five seas, each with their own culture and customs. Yamato knew this for a fact; not because he had been there—after all, if he had ever left Wano, he had been too young to remember—but because Oden had described them in his journal.
Yamato wanted to see it all. He wanted to visit the island in the sky, the millennium old elephant, the island where lightning falls like rain. He wanted to enjoy the different sceneries, meet the people, play their games, experience their culture… But he was stuck here on Onigashima, heavy metal cuffs on his tiny wrists; still too weak to break the chains.
He wasn’t Oden, yet.
He wasn’t free.
But, there was a way. A way to become Oden, if only for a single night.
----------
Yamato grinned when he looked down on himself. The short, orange kimono wasn’t perfect—the crescent moons on his chest were a little crooked, the pirate who had sewn them on not accounting for the change in angle once worn—and the white and purple nio-dasuki he had wrapped around himself was too large for him, dwarfing Yamato’s form and making him look even more like a child.
But even so, Yamato was happy.
So incredibly happy.
He had been waiting for this moment for three years, ever since he had read about the custom of ‘Halloween’. According to Oden, it was a once-a-year celebration taking place on a certain autumn island. He had written some details about the meaning of the festivities too, but Yamato couldn’t say he understood much of it.
What he did understand, however, was the tradition of dressing up—costumes of fairies and ghosts, pirates and marines, characters from books and fantasies… anything you wanted.
And there was only one person like that for Yamato.
Running out of his room, Yamato threw his arms into the air, spreading them wide as he laughed. Just wearing this outfit, he felt so much lighter. He couldn’t wait to show his friends—the nice Beast Pirates who gave him food and helped him when he needed it. The ones who didn’t laugh or scorn him whenever he said he was Oden.
The ones he liked.
“Young Master, where are you going?!” someone cried in alarm.
Yamato paused, his happy smile not leaving his face even when his eyes fell on the panicked face of the approaching pirate. "I'm going to show everyone. I really am Oden now!" he announced proudly, gesturing to his kimono.
The pirate's eyes widened before his head whipped around, turning every which way as if looking for something. Finally, he sighed in relief and looked back at Yamato. "Young Master, please, don't say things like that or—"
"Or what?!" Yamato demanded, puffing up his chest. "I don't care what my father says! He can't stop me!"
The pirate paused at his adamant refusal, chewing on his bottom lip as he searched Yamato’s eyes.
The boy only huffed, crossing his arms over his chest to show how serious he was; this matter was done and over with as far as he was concerned. Nothing this man said would change his mind so Yamato only returned his stare with his own defiant one, just daring him to disagree.
Silence hung over the hallway for a moment until the man's pleading gaze broke under Yamato's immovable determination.
"O-okay," he stuttered weakly, just as a loud crash came from the direction of Kaido's room, making the man nearly jump out of his skin.
Yamato paid it no mind, all too used to his father's drunken mood swings. Instead, he simply side-stepped the pirate, heading for the stairs to the upper floor. He wanted to show his costume to Ulti and Page One, the children that Kaido had taken in recently. They were bound to be excited!
And if his father saw him, so be it. The bull-gorilla could choke on his own fist for all he cared.
“Young Master! Wait!” the pirate called after him, blocking his path in a few quick steps.
Yamato frowned, giving the man his best annoyed look. “What now?”
“You have to cha—” He stopped himself mid-sentence, going quiet for a second as he stared at Yamato with a troubled expression but soon, he visibly deflated. Even his voice sounded defeated when he spoke up again, “I heard the children went to the beach.”
Yamato tilted his head to the side, staring at the man intently. He felt like he was being lied to… but he couldn’t know for sure. He supposed there was no harm in checking the beach first either way.
Giving the man in front of him one last, suspicious look, Yamato huffed before turning on his heel and running off towards the exit instead.
Honestly, even if the others weren’t at the beach, Yamato wouldn’t mind. He liked the place; he wasn’t able to swim in the ocean—courtesy of the devil fruit he had eaten in hunger-driven desperation a year ago—but he still loved watching the waves crash against the island, humming their song and carrying the smell of salt and freedom with them.
One day, he was going to cross those waters. One day, he won’t need this orange kimono to feel connected to him.
One day, he will see the world just as Kozuki Oden had.
Stopping at the edge of the beach, a determined smile pulled on Yamato’s lips. He didn’t care how many years it took. If he had to wait the seventeen years until Joy Boy arrived, that was fine. After all, he was still only eleven years old. He wasn’t stupid; he knew he was much too weak to get anywhere in the world on his own for now. He would wait patiently, training and preparing for the right time; just like Oden had before Whitebeard’s ship had landed in Kuri all those years ago.
And he had this bright orange kimono and tattered old journal to draw strength from.
“Young Master Yamato?”
Yamato jumped at the deep, quiet voice that came from behind him. He didn’t think anyone was there; he hadn’t noticed anyone—not even the little siblings—when he had arrived. “Who—” he started, turning around quickly to face the newcomer, but then he sighed when he recognized the tall man. “Boss Kyoshiro! Hello,” he greeted politely.
The yakuza regarded him for a moment without a word but then he slowly sat on the ground next to Yamato, facing the sea just like the young boy had before, and patted the ground next to him in invitation.
It only took Yamato a second to comply; the man was still a mystery to him, a new star in Orochi’s command and impossible to read, yet somehow… Yamato didn’t hate him. That couldn’t have been said about many of Orochi’s people.
“I like your outfit,” Kyoshiro said with a smile.
Immediately, a wide grin pulled on Yamato’s lips as he threw his arms out wide once more. “Right?!” he asked, full of excitement. “It’s for Halloween. You’re supposed to dress up like people you like!”
“The celebration from Jack-O’-Island?” Kyoshiro asked.
Yamato’s mouth fell open in surprise. “You know about it?!”
“A person very important to me told me about it once,” Kyoshiro explained, his smile widening a little… even though it seemed a little sad at the same time. “Do you like Kozuki Oden?”
“I am Kozuki Oden!” Yamato corrected proudly.
At that, Kyoshiro laughed. It startled Yamato at first because… it sounded so happy. Open and honest and completely different from the demeaning laughter Yamato was used to—and so much more real than anything Yamato had seen of the man.
In the end, Yamato couldn’t stop the giggle that bubbled out of his own chest.
“I’m sorry, I don’t have much on me but—” Kyoshiro paused, taking out a small box from his satchel and opening it, revealing a few mitarashi dango— “you can have these. For your trick or treating,” he added the last part in response to Yamato’s confused stare.
Yamato beamed. Bowing his head, he accepted the gift but before he could even thank him, a large lizard-bird landed next to them.
“There you are, Yamato.” King shot Yamato a look once he turned to his human form. “What do you think you’re doing walking around dressed like that?”
“Trick or treating,” Yamato said simply as he shoved a dango stick in his mouth.
King looked like was about to scold him but as soon as their eyes met, he groaned, rubbing at his masked forehead. “Let’s just keep you away from Kaido-san for now…”
Yamato huffed. “I don’t care what he says.”
Heaving a sigh, King wordlessly shifted back to a pteranodon to grab Yamato’s arms in his talons.
As they took off, Yamato shot one last grin at Kyoshiro. He knew barely anything about the man but he did know one thing—
He already looked forward to showing him an even better Oden next year.

I feel like I've asked you before but I can't remember. I've tried looking through your posts but didn't find anything but here goes.
I'm writing a fic, Sasuke x oc / reader or whatever. I've gotten into the habit of writing usually from the character pov but I feel like sasuke is a difficult character to write for so I'm not sure if I should switch it up to the oc's pov instead. Another thing is that, it takes place during Shippuden. I'm not good with writing battle scenes and I'm not sure I want to even write that. How would you suggest I go about it? Any suggestions?
Oh I forgot to add, they'd part ways after the orochimaru absorption thingy as I thought her traveling with him would be a little cliche? So there's the question about the povs
I sent an ask a couple days ago and I hope you don't feel pressured to answer it! I hope you're doing well. Writing can be so stressful sometimes, especially when you want to write something but nothing is coming out. Everyone is here to support you whether you're writing or not! I hope things get better!
~ X ~
Hey there! So sorry I only get now to this ask, I felt like it deserved some proper thinking and answering on my part, and not just a nilly-willy response.
This is definitely an interesting fic you're writing ^^ As I don't have much experience myself with writing Sasuke, but my adivce would be to just try "him" out. Try to write the next scene from his perspective and see how that works out!
Giving a different POV to the reader can definitely spice things up a bit, as it shows the motivation and characteristics of the other side, so to speak, more clearly than descriptions of the original POV could. Especially with a closed-off character like Sasuke, that could open things up a bit.
Then again, depending on the end goal you want to achieve, writing his POV too early or revealing too much of his motivation could severely damage the impact you want to have on your readers later on.
If I might be so daring: in my fic "It was a long way" I mostly wrote in the POV of my character, only switching things up partly and later on (I believe, from chapter 10 or 11 onwards). By then, the big reveal had happened and the switch of POV or the memories from another perspective helped highlight the story between chapter 1 and 9 in another light. If I had included the POV of Yamato/Tenzo from, let's say, chapter 2 onwards, that would have ruined a lot of the tension and questioning, what the intentions of him would have been. But that is just an example on my part.
After all, every story is different and every writer works a bit differently. What works for me might not work for you, or you don't feel my advice at all, which is also fine. I can only tell you what my look on the matter is :)
And to the point of battle scenes... Yeah, I'm myself not very good at them, and I constantly try to avoid them as much as I can ^^" My best take would be to also try your best on one battle scene and see what that feels like. Better yet, try more than once, different scenarios.
Just a few little pointers: battle scenes don't have to be long, you don't have to describe every little innate detail. The adrenaline is rising high and smaller stuff will escape the characters in the heat of the moment. Also, there will be objectives for each character in their mind: one might want to protect the other, while the other is more focused on winning the battle instead of caring about their battle partner.
I hope this helps! Thank you so much for your lovely asks, and sorry again for the long wait!

Choujin X: Chapter 1
So I'm really excited to read more of Sui Ishida's newest manga, and I'm arriving just in time for the front seats! I don't want to let this pass without writing down my thoughts on the first chapter and possibly look at it in the future as the story progresses. You can read it here:
Having said that, please note there will be spoilers ahead!
Tomato Girl
The chapter starts with this cute little girl with that native(?) farmer-like hat, who supposedly grows big fruits (it's huge in Japan, look it up!). I think she will also be a main character since she's the first person we see. From this point I'll call her Tomato Girl. She is obviously from a rural area and is a farmer. We see her motivation is money (and that big dog... which, I think we will see in the future lol). She also wants to marry a "handsome goldilocks hubbie", lol. Wonder if this means she's going to be a love interest of the other cast? She also wants to have 9 kids. Naki and Miza, is that you?! Lol. So here, we have a girl with lofty aspirations! We shall see if any of this will happen or if it will change or if she's lying!
Also an observation - Tomato Girl is also close with her granddad, since she said she's going to the contest in lieu of her granddad (whose back was hurt). She obviously has this strong personality, standing up to the creepy bad guy, who was going to hit the old lady.
Bad Guy
The Bad Guy (since this guy doesn't have a name yet) is obviously a terrorist-for-hire. Also seems to be obsessed with beauty and elegance. I would guess his power lies in blowing things up?
I think, though, that Tomato Girl is a choujin herself, considering she didn't immediately get blown away. Plus, Bad Guy was on fire, and so was she. So, it doesn't necessarily mean Tomato Girl is already dead. She also seems to be reaching out to the Bad Guy as that scene ends.
It's later revealed that despite the plane crash, there were 200 survivors. Hmmmmmmm. Maybe they were turned into choujins?Only the hull was burned but the frame wasn't.
Tokio Kurohara and Azuma Higashi
Yes, the MC! He's notices the plane catching fire. Then, for some reason, Tokio's teacher (Ms. Bazonkas) has a weird voluptuous design. BUT, I think there's something afoot there. She might actually also be a choujin. Possibly a mentor role for Tokio? She seems to be very knowledgeable.
Anyway, going back to Tokio. He's introduced as a sixteen-year-old high school sophomore from Tsuru High. Like any high school kid, he finds studying math to be useless. We're also shown that lives in a district which has destroyed buildings. Possibly dystopian future?
We next find a girl getting harassed by a Mohawk guy and his 2 honchos. Tokio calls for someone, turns out to be Azuma. I just thought it's funny how he called for Azuma, he sounds like a police officer. Haha. But right after, Azuma is introduced, flying from a building.. a very dramatic, heroic entrance. He kinda looks like a hybrid of Haise and Armin from AOT for me. Haha. He's so cute and tiny but he's strong and is apparently the town hero. He breaks the arm of the thug, which Tokio thinks is going too far.
The girl seems to be a pretty girl, and I think she will play a role later on. She's a lot older than them, since she said she's going to an interview. She will possibly a love interest or a villain, but I think more of the latter. I just read CSM so I'm wary of pretty girls lol. Anyway, I think there's something there to link her with Azuma, considering, Azuma introduces both Azuma and Tokio but she only seems to thank or acknowledge Azuma. Tokio even says "don't mention it" even if the girl didn't even thank him, lol.
Azuma and Tokio talk about the plane crash, and it's revealed that choujins seem to abuse their power, and that the attack is kinda normal. We look at their hometown which is really wrecked. Buildings are dilapitated in an abnormal manner -- one building looks like it was done in with a circular force... They live in Yamato Prefecture which is described as an ordinary, self-governed prefecture with some areas partially destroyed. Wonder what self-governed means, but my guess is that it's kinda like a state and the national government is different altogether.
Roly-Poly
Well I never really thought of pill bugs or rolly pollies until I read this. Azuma talks about how roly polies roll around in dry areas and when they find a damp rock, they hide under it. He questions if the roly polies like damp places. And Azuma wonders if choujins are anything like roly-polies. Tokio is confused, so am I. I'm not going to make solid convictions what he means by it, but I think... what Azuma is driving at is that, roly polies and choujins DON'T like damp places. I don't know, I have no reason for this, it's just a guess. We'll see what Azuma means eventually. Haha.
It also appears that choujins are generally bad guys, since Azuma wonders why they don't use their power for good. Maybe something about being a choujin corrupts? Just a guess based on the succeeding events.
They end their conversation with Azuma thinking if he can help with the plane crash. Tokio comments, "seems noble of you" and Azuma says, "it's just a habit". Wonder if Tokio finds Azuma pretentious or if he's genuinely impressed. Azuma's answer is also quite concerning, "just a habit", a question arises if he's sincere in helping in the first place.
The Mohawk Guy
So this guy is supposed to be a funny, evil villain, now bent on exacting revenge from Azuma. Then, a guy (possibly gay guy because he is wearing a lipstick?) with a briefcase offers him an injection.
Tokio's Family
So Tokio has a bigger sister and a dad who seems to be very quiet. Not sure if that's their dad though, it wasn't clear. It's possible they don't have parents anymore and that guy is just an associate. Anyway, it appears that the sister pays Tokio's tuition and she's the breadwinner.
Tokio and his sister talk about Azuma. Azuma is apparently very smart, very athletic (proficient in judo and karate), girls love him, and that his dad is a big shot in the police. The sister questions why Tokio is so proud, and Tokio funnily admits that it's because he feels popular because Azuma is popular. A leech!
Vulture
I just finished re-reading Tokyo Ghoul and :re, and I was blown away by Ishida's art and story. To say I love Kaneki is an understatement. I think I'm going to love Tokio too! I also want to discuss the cover.
Tumblr media
So it appears that the cover is the Tokio with an image of a vulture. Tokio is naked and it feels like the vulture is seducing him. From here, I get the vibe that Tokio might be corrupted by the power. "It's something of an affliction" is a dead giveaway. It feels like becoming a choujin or superhuman also corrupts, in a way?
Also since, there seems to be a commentary on the negative view on vultures being scavengers or "steals prey". (Though TBH I always thought vultures wait around for the predator to finish eating and then it eats the scraps??)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the other hand, Azuma, Tokio's best friend who's mighty strong and brave (almost to a fault), is viewed as a lion by his peers. Also, an uncanny observation is the when Tokio cries about while sitting on the floor, above him is a hyena. Hyenas are known to prey on the carcasses of lions' prey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's almost uncanny when Tokio himself says, "I can be a lion too". But Azuma makes Tokio feel better by telling him that buzzards can fly higher than any bird -- telling Tokio to focus on the strength
But even if Tokio admires Azuma, Tokio thinks of telling Azuma when he's going too far. I think this comes from a place of concern. But maybe secretly he's also jealous?
Tokio also even tells Azuma that maybe they should hold hands so Tokio can be more like Azuma, implying that Tokio wants to be like Azuma.
Praying Mantis
Just before Flexi Choujin attacks, Tokio mentions that he bought an insect guidebook and was about to say a factoid about praying mantis near water. I wonder what Tokio was about to say? A search on the internet about praying mantis and water shows this disgusting video of a parasite exiting the praying mantis leaving the mantis to die. Ew. Let's see if this is the factoid Tokio was thinking of. If so, who's the mantis and who's the parasite? Is it Azuma and Tokio, respectively? Hmm. Also, love the insect symbolism. Throwback to Kaneki's centipede!
Flexi Choujin Attack (Johnny Kiyoshi Takeyama)
Mohawk Guy, now a choujin, is a flexi monster who's now more resistant to hits. He attacks Azuma indiscriminately with his new powers. He also kinda goes crazy... His subordinates fear his super violent side, begging him to go back to his "kinda naughty mama boy self", but he ends up snapping their heads off.
For some reason 2 injections fly up into the air?! Maybe someone tossed it. Because as Tokio brought Azuma to the water and brought him back out, he sees the 2 injections. Azuma wants to use it on himself.
Tokio hesitates to have Azuma use it but Azuma insists. Tokio remembers how Azuma saved him from bullies as a kid, and they agreed that Tokio will help Azuma beat the bad guys... Tokio gets the other injection and points to himself. Azuma says Tokio can't but Tokio insists because he feels that it's the only way to stay friends with Azuma. They also promise each other that they will have no regrets over this. This is kinda alarming for me!! Let's see what it will mean in the future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But instead of both of them transforming into a powerful choujin, only Tokio transforms into one. He looks like a vulture, very beast-like. Looks even like Kaneki's Centipede! I think the other injection might have resulted in a bad/weak power, or maybe it's empty, or maybe Tokio didn't inject Azuma? But I doubt the last one. Anyway, Tokio's choujin look is amazing!
Tumblr media
Can't help but feel this scene is related to the praying mantis thing... Maybe my hunch is correct? The parasite exits the mantis when near water, which is why Tokio manages to muster up some courage on his own?
We'll see!! I'm really excited to see this develop. It will be the first manga I will be able to see from the start to finish!

Day 25 - Cane
***
V wasn't really choosy when it comes to weapons.
Yes, he thought that Dante's Devil Sword, Vergil's Yamato, and Nero's Red Queen were really fascinating and strong. But, he couldn't deny the fact that there was something so classy and elegant with his antique metal cane. It feels so light in his hands, it didn't look obnoxious, and it served him really well so far. He could still remember the utter satisfaction he felt when he plunged the cane deep into his enemies' flesh, and he could still feel his own power coursing through it when he unleashed his demonic powers upon those fiends.
Plus, it's a storage saver, as well.
That said, V never really thought of paying that antique shop a visit,... to actually pay for the metal cane. Until now.
He could still remember the place, two right turns after the shopping district.
He would pay the cane in full, no matter how much it would cost him. V knew it was the right thing to do.
V entered the dark and quiet shop, expecting an old, grumpy person manning the cashier.
Instead, there was a familiar face waiting behind it.
"Mr. V? Oh, my God! I didn't expect to see you here."
"I'm glad to see you look so well, Ms. Avery." The poet greeted the pet groomer. "Aren't you,... supposed to be working,... somewhere else?"
"Totally!" Avery answered as she went around the counter to get closer to him. "Well, I look after this shop sometimes. You see, my father is the one who owns this place. I mean, was the,... owner. Now, I work full time here. Well, I have to. You know what I mean." The woman blinked her eyes several times.
"Oh, I'm very sorry."
Avery smiled and waved a hand. "Ha! Don't be. So! What brings you here?"
"Oh, about," V began, feeling at a loss for words on how to describe what happened the night he took the metal cane. He handed the thing to Avery, who gave it a look of utter shock, and went on. " ... that. It's a,... very, very,... complicated,... story. But, rest assured that I'm willing to pay for it. In full. No matter how much it would cost."
"I knew this went missing when that huge fucked up tree showed up here in Red Grave!" Avery exclaimed, appraising the thing with her own eyes. "I saw you carrying this the first time we met. Now, I'm sure it really is the same thing."
"Y - yes." Please, don't get mad. Please, don't get mad,...
"Well, you can have it."
For a moment, V thought he misheard the words. "Sorry?"
"I said, you can have it." Avery repeated. "You helped me so much with my pet grooming problem. In fact, I even got a promotion after what you did! I couldn't thank you enough. Although, I can't really understand how you did it,... "
"It's a well - guarded secret, my lady." V replied with a wink, a mischievous smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. Receiving the cane from her, he politely asked, "Is it really alright for me to take this? I'd really, really like to pay for it."
"Nah, it's alright. You really can have it." Avery answered as she made her way back to her place behind the counter. "Besides, it seems to really like you as its owner."
"And that means?"
"It's a well - guarded secret, my lord." She answered with a mischievous wink of her own.
And this made V chuckle. "Well, then, I'll be on my way. Thank you so much for your,... generosity,... Ms. Avery."
"Pleasure." The woman answered with a nod.
And just then, when the poet was about to leave the antique shop, he saw a silhouette of Avery's former pet hovering above the woman's head.
"Thank you,... for watching over my master." It whispered, it's voice almost sounding like a breeze.
"I always fulfill my promises." V answered.
"What's that?" Avery, who just saw V suddenly talking to himself, asked.
