Ahhh thank you so much! I hope everyone will like the CYOA- I’ve been plotting things out for a while now, and I’m super excited for it too!

And I’ve been working on Primal Moon for a long time now, so I’m really, really happy to finally get a fic of it out!

Wukong is one of the more demanding, pushy demons during the verdant lunar cycle. He’s been alone in the wilderness with his monkeys for a long time- he’s super excited to have a troop! Wukong wants to cuddle! He wants to groom! He wants to share his food! He wants group naps and shared nests!

It just so happens that this swell of love-seeking behavior comes with a severe loss of inhibitions that he’s never taught himself not to indulge in. And although he’s pretty reasonable in spite of all this… he’s still willing to severely crack down on any intentional disobedience within his ‘troop’.

Macaque is a loner, and he gets along just fine by himself- so the instincts that get brought to the fore are much less severe than Wukong’s. But he still has them, no matter how much he’d like to pretend otherwise. There’s a lot of embarrassment involved in these weeks for him, accepting and giving affection without even realizing it. One moment Macaque is trying to distract himself by reading, the very next he’s snuggled up to you/Wukong/MK, whining for scritches and pats. By the time the time he’s realized what’s happened, he’s already purring on his back, his tail sweeping back and forth in glee.

Poor, poor MK. This kiddo is going to despise himself when all is said and done. After a lifetime spent unaware of his true nature, the first Primal Moon he endures absolutely destroys him.

Usually people have a lot of time spent preparing for this event- even babies and toddlers are affected by the moon, so people can grow accustomed early. As you grow older and stronger you can resist the animalistic urges that rise inside, and some demons/celestials can even suppress their instincts almost entirely- with training and practice.

And guess who hasn’t had so much as even a day to prepare?

So MK goes from gold-hearted goofball to a damn near abuser, beating and pushing and throwing you around because his mind and body are genuinely brand new to this- he doesn’t know what else to do! He doesn’t have the years of acclimation that his friend and family have, the coping mechanism that they’ve learned to employ. And at the end of the week, the viridescence in the skies dies away entirely, leaving him free to see the entirety of what he’s done to you.

And he’s going to hate himself for it.

Also I had to do a lot of research on animal behaviors for this AU- fun, because it’s my special interest- not fun, because animals are incredibly awful little things who sometimes engage in awful behaviors!

Like, male pigs engage in so much baby-killing. Just so very much. Very little in the way of parental/familial instincts. And unless I base him around an octopus, what am I going to do for Sandy? He’s a river demon- what instincts does fish even have?

Luffy

Great friend but also not💀

Bro will show up uninvited to drag you into something possibly illegal

He’ll take your food too, your not safe

He will always be clinging to you in some way. Like he'll have his arms stretched around you or he'll carry you on his back.

He loves giving you gifts, but he's really bad at it

like he'll give you a box of leaves he thought were cool, or a really long worm he found in Usopp's garden

Sometimes he'll wander into your room and sleep in the room with you.

You'll wake up with him hanging off the end of your bed or snoring on the floor.

If you ever seem stressed or upset, he'll put his strawhat on your head. It's kinda his way of trying to comfort you without being pushy about what's bothering you

You'll pretend to be Zoro and he'll pretend to be Sanji and the two of you will jokingly fight with each other

He'll trade you his goldfish for your Capri Sun

Most things you do are gonna be a competition with him

The two of you tried to start your own band once but Nami said you were being too obnoxious

There's no chance he washes his hands so, for the sake of everyone else, please make sure he's somewhat hygenic

Your hype man

He'll find you before breaking into the fridge. You're the iconic duo Sanji despises

Very spontaneous friendship, it's very common for the two of you to be playing tag or hide n' seek at the worst possible moments on the worst possible islands

Zoro

He'll try to trip you when you walk by

You're one of the few people he wouldn't mind taking a nap with

Would ask if you wanted to work out with him and secretly be really happy if you agreed

He'd share his alcohol with you

You two would do drinking games with each other every other day

The crews gotta somehow separate the two of you and send you to bed cause you're both laughing wa too loud and none of them can get any sleep

I imagine his love language would be acts of service, so he might offer to help you with whatever chore you were assigned that week or just anything in general

He'd push you to be your best self physically and mentally

He would never admit it, but he loves spending time with you

Let's hope you're good with directions, cause the two of you are going to end up lost a lot. The crew eventually just appoints you to keep him from wandering.

You'll have to get a leash for him or something.

He's a very loyal friend and would never dare betray your trust in any way

Throw your trust and abandonment issues out the window cause you aren't getting rid of him anytime soon

He hates physical affection, it just makes him feel kinda uncomfortable

Although if you really needed it, he'd give you a very stiff hug and an awkward pat on the back

One time you were fishing together and you fished up a beer. Zoro now looks forward to fishing.

Sanji

Your confidence will skyrocket after hanging out with him

He'll give you the kindest and most genuine compliments you've ever received, regardless of your gender

Out of these three, he's probably the best to go to for advice

He’ll do whatever you wanna do. He loves talking to you and just spending time with you overall

You know that meme where it’s like “they asked for NO pickles”? That’s him. He’ll be defending you for absolutely everything

He’ll try to give you fashion tips, but it’s 50/50 whether it’s good or bad

Would probably cry if you gave him a gift

I feel like he’d really like watching movies with you. He just strikes me as a movie kinda guy.

He’s physically affectionate but also kinda not (?)

It’s almost as if he holds back on it cause he doesn’t wanna overwhelm you

When you’re out on the town he’ll be your self-appointed bodyguard

He’s gonna love cooking with/for you.

He’d be so excited if you wanted to learn to cook or were just a little interested in it.

Why do Angel and Alastor hate each other? Probably partially due to Husk but there has to be more too it than that right?

I am SO glad someone asked this. Prepare yourself yall cause this will be LONG.

When it comes to Angel and Alastor, it's a one sided relationship. Angel doesn't hate Alastor. He finds him entertaining actually. All the hatred and pettiness is on Alastors side. Alastor DESPISES Angel. Absolutely hates the man. Why he hates him so much is a multitude of reasons.

☆Power and Posture★

Alastor has a ego but he knows he's not the most powerful of the overlords. Yes he's absolutely one of the stronger ones but he knows he's not unstoppable. Angel is what levels him. Angel is scarily strong when it comes to overlords. Having exterminator weapons along with raw power is a scary combination. Angel is a force not to be reckoned with. Alastor knows this and it bothers him. He knows that Angel, besides Charlie, is someone that can push back on Alastor's behavior. Alastor is a bully but Angel isn't afraid to fight back.

Angel's physical stature is also something that bothers Alastor. Alastor knows that physically, without his power, isn't something people are intimated by. He's super skinny and he's tall. You could snap his body like a twig. Angel isn't like Alastor. Angel is twice Alastor's size. Angel has a body builder like build. Angel is physically more intimidating and both know it. Angel doesn't hide his physical dominance from Alastor either. If Alastor is bothering someone too much for Angel's liking then Angel will lift Alastor like a sack of potatoes. If Alastor tries to get in Angel's face then Angel leans over Alastor, staring down at him. Angel is a physical force that can and will if necessary crush Alastor. It's humiliating. Alastor hates this.

☆People person★

Angel is a people person. He goes a little mad when he can't talk with someone. He's smooth, he's charismatic, he's good with everybody. Angel is everything Alastor wants to be with people. Alastor is good with people to a extent. He can come off as pushy and clingy if he likes you well enough. This plus Alastor as a whole usually freaks people out. Alastor scares people away, Angel draws them in. Like a spider to its web. All the people Alastor knows, Angel ruins it for him somehow. Mimzy, his secret crush has know Angel for longer. They're closer. Charlie. Alastor was the first to offer his help. But no, Charlie decided that the death overlord would be the better pick. Is Alastor not good enough? Valerie is someone be can teach and influence. No. Angel teaches her to fight. Angel teaches her to talk again. Disgusting. Nifty, his sweet, darling Nifty. The only child Alastor would ever call his own. Angel swoops in and suddenly Nifty wants a new dad. How could he?? Is Alastor being Nifty's mentor not good enough? What's so special about Angel? Husk. His only friend honestly. He's harsh on him, he understands that. He needs to be better, he knows this. But Husk sticks it out with him. Angel can't ruin this for him. Then Angel seduces Husk. How?? Husk is the most closed off person Alastor has ever known. How did Angel break open his shell??? Why does Angel understand Husk better than Alastor does?? Alastor doesn't know. He knows that he despises it though. Despised Angel. It's all Angel's fault.

☆How can we trust him★

Now Alastor won't say he's trustworthy. He's caniving, shifty, and untrustworthy. But he's upfront. He shows you all his cards before he even plays the game. Angel doesn't. Angel hides his cards under the table. How can we be sure he's trustworthy. No one ever sees him. Why is Mimzy so sure he's a good man. How is Charlie sure Angel wants to get to Heaven? How is Valerie sure Angel won't be too rough with her? How is Nifty sure Angel even likes her, let alone see her as a surrogate daughter. How is Husk sure that Angel isn't like other men, that Angel won't break his heart?

Why is everyone looking behind their shoulder at Alstor but looking forward at Angel?

Alastor doesn't know. But he knows he hates it. He hates this feeling. He hates how no one bat's a eye.

He hates Angel.

Sorry if this is poorly written. I tried to give the best explanation for Alastor's hatred. Alastor is a character I feel like I'm neglecting so I'm trying to give him more characterization and personality. I really want his envy and jealousy to shine through.

🔥Jealousy🔥

Authors note: I love me a good jealous clone.

Relationships: Hunter/Fem!Reader, Tech/Fem!Reader, Echo/Fem!Reader, Wrecker/Fem!Reader, Crosshair/Fem!Reader

Warnings: Mentions of a stranger being a little too pushy, And Crosshair probably not having the healthiest jealousy

✦ Hunter ✦

Hunter can become vehemently jealous, but he’s capable of being pretty civil. Externally.

What he hates about it is the physical contact. With just flirtatious comments or chatter he can deal or wait for you to cut them off when they become too much, but if they hug you or anything similar; Hunter is out of sorts. The sight of someone hugging you for too long or kissing your cheek makes him more jealous than he'd like to admit.

He trusts you of course, and he knows it's a largely silly thing to be out of sorts about; But you’ll smell like that person now for hours after saying goodbye, and Hunter can't help but despise it. It makes his neck tight and his nails dig into the palms of his gloves.

He'll be a little more touchy feely afterward; Both to just enjoy you're close and make sure you smell like just you and him again.

It's around the third time it happens that you realize what he's doing, but you keep your mouth shut just because it's so weirdly endearing.

✦ Wrecker ✦

Wrecker is the most chill of them all. He has no reason not to trust you, and all you're doing is chatting anyways, why worry? If anything, he'll be jealous because you gave someone a hug and he wanted that; Because somehow, every thirty minutes wasn't enough.

It ends up spawning an adorable habit of whenever you hug someone else, you have to hug each other. Sometimes you'll just be sitting and suddenly Wrecker comes and just hugs you, having just finished almost strangling Tech or squeezing Omega.

But, it isn't to say Wrecker is completely immune.

There's been times where someone's being way too overly flirty or handsy for his liking, refusing to back off even if you'd said to. Wrecker will suddenly get even taller and shove the person backwards, demanding they quit it and leave you alone.

That's usually well more than enough to scare people off, and he stops snorting fire. You'll be back to whatever you were doing in no time at all, and Wrecker will be no different than usual after making sure you're all good.

✦ Crosshair ✦

Crosshair is by far in a way the worst. You’ve seen this man actually threaten full on physical altercations. And in all honestly you don't even really get why. Half of the time can be quite aloof, so to quickly go from that to aggressively jealous almost gives you a good case of whiplash.

He cools down a little once he starts being a tiny bit more open hearted with you- and in turn you reassure him you aren't going anywhere- but he still tends to glare at any shiny that comes within sniffing distance.

Though sometimes he's not close by you, maybe he's getting something or answering a holocall from one of his brothers. If at any point then if someone comes up with any sort of obvious ulterior motive it's not long before they swear they can feel heat on their back, and a tall, lithe sniper comes into view.

They usually don't stay long after, as Crosshair chills the air far too much for anyone to continue flirting.

But part of you finds it almost endearing, even if you probably shouldn't. It's just a little bit too sweet how his hand tightens against your side, only loosening if you touch back.

✦ Echo ✦

Echo is quite civil. He has little to no outward reaction, apart from maybe making it a bit more obvious that he’s not just your friend. He'll stand a bit closer to you than whoever you're talking to is, just so they know he's still here.

In his mind however; Echo is running around full code red.

Post-Citadel Echo has some huge gaps in his confidence, largely in regards his new body. His entire lower body and more is now nothing but hardened metal and sometimes, he questions whether you're going to stick around, or ditch him once you find someone 'better'.

That doubt had slipped out to you once and you'd made sure to correct him, but Echo still has the thought sometimes. You'll feel his hand brush up against your own and when you glance up you see his face; Stern with lips pursed but eyes saying something else entirely.

Silently you grab his hand, wrapping your fingers around his and squeezing them. Echo noticeably softens, that feeling he hates dissipating, and you can continue whatever you were doing.

✦ Tech ✦

Tech takes place as the second most overt, if Crosshair is established as the worst. Tech will have a very specific scowl- his lips pursed tight- while his brow is furrowed behind his goggles. His sentences are cut and dry and he'll only state the necessary facts; Nothing more.

You and other members of the Batch usually notice instantly but someone who isn't close to you probably won't, leaving Tech to stew until you eventually stop laughing at whoever you're talking to you and realize he's off.

He understands why he feels this way logically; You're important to him, someone who always listens and respects him, and it's a part of natural behavior to not want your partner around other prospective mates.

But even if he words it so simply as if it's the easiest thing to understand, Tech can never quite be stronger than it when the person across from you is being way too overt with the way they're talking about things.

If you take too long he might even end up telling them he needs you for something, in an attempt to end the conversation prematurely. He usually does have something for you to do, but you can just tell there was an ulterior motive for him doing this.

Do give him a kiss though sometime though, he keeps looking at you for one.

Oh these are great questions! I'll answer for all of them. <3

What's their relationship with the cast?

They're all potential platonic/romantic candidates for MC. 💙

Karasu: I actually detailed his relationships with the demon brothers here, and a more in-depth look at his relationship with Mammon can be found here. For the most part, he can get along with them easily enough.

Azra: Easily aggravated by Lucifer and avoids him. Doesn't really interact with most of the brothers except for when they're at the club. You could argue that he and Asmo are friends. Asmo spends so much time at The Fall that they see each other a lot and get along. It helps that they're both lust demons and interested in the Devildom fashion/beauty scene.

Zekhan: Very rarely interacts with the demon brothers except for Lucifer or Asmo. Sometimes he speaks to Lucifer if there is a special party or event being hosted at The Fall. He also sees Asmo frequently so talking to him isn't too much of a chore, even though he thinks they have nothing in common.

Metatron: Was intimidated by Lucifer but got along with the others when they lived in the Celestial Realm. He used to be close friends with Azra before he fell, and his feelings about him now are complicated. (After getting over his initial shock and fear of Satan, he'd probably get along with him since they're both such avid readers.)

What is a character trait that will immediately make them despise someone? On the flip side, how can you easily win their favor?

Karasu: He would despise someone that broke his trust. In a romantic relationship, this would probably mean cheating (emotionally or physically). You can earn his favour by being genuine, honest, and kind without pushing him outside his comfort zone.

Azra: He hates being bossed around or talked down to. It's not hard getting on his good side though: he appreciates honesty, humor and authenticity. He gets tired of demons who only want to know him for his money or his looks.

Zekhan: He would hate someone who is pushy or doesn't respect his boundaries, especially when it comes to his personal space. However, if you want to get on his good side, the best thing you can do is be patient and kind with him. He'll warm up to you faster than you realize, even if he doesn't show it right away.

Metatron: It would be hard to like or forgive someone that manipulates him or betrays him in some way. Someone wanting to be friends should show an interest in books/learning and being open-minded.

Are they easy to read or do they mask their intentions perfectly? Are they manipulative? A good liar maybe? What are their tells?

Karasu: He hides a lot of his thoughts and feelings behind a screen. He's very reactive in-person and it's harder to hide his feelings, especially ones that lean towards the romantic. He's not a great liar.

Azra: He's perfected a bland, charming mask that allows him to fit in with the other powerful and popular demons in the Devildom. He's a good liar and he can be manipulative when it suits him. His eyes and hands will give away the first signs of anger or frustration he feels.

Zekhan: Poker face for days with most people. He's confident and authoritative and it's hard to get a reaction out of him. He can be manipulative but he avoids outright lies if he can. It's rare that something stuns or upsets him into silence. He will disappear (you think) if he's ruffled - but really, he's just watching you from somewhere close by and trying to figure out how to solve you like you're a very stubborn puzzle.

Metatron: He wears his heart on his sleeve. He's an optimistic the-glass-is-half-full, sees the best in everyone type of angel. He wouldn't want to manipulate anyone, but he could lie convincingly if it was important enough. (He will be very regretful later.)

Our dear demon bastard stated what type of women he likes. What do you think would be the type of woman (and maybe even man) he dislikes the most?

He is living in my head rent free

This one is much easier and less complex to answer 🙏 (I promise your other ask is in the works 😚 its just taking its dear sweet time to manifest in coherent thoughts)

My picture of a person Mephisto absolutely would not like conveniently exists in canon: Michael Gedouin. And no, I'm not just saying that because I hate the bastard.

Gedouin is everything Samael loves to despise. He's clingy, desperate, arrogant, short sighted, pushy and rude. He's got delusions of grandeur and crippling insecurities. Mephisto would eat him alive out of spite - possibly literally if he weren't so fat as to give the malnourished demon clogged arteries for the effort.

I personally think that when Samael expressly dislikes or loathes someone he goes out of his way to be an absolute menace to them. Because he's petty like that.

Canon kind of backs me up on this, and offers a compelling series of reasons why. Everyone he dislikes in canon, he dislikes because they're too intrusive or rude (Lewin) too cocksure and ignorant (Arthur) too needy and pushy (Yukio to a degree) or too self absorbed and narcissistic (Lucifer).

What do all these people have in common?

They're all liars.

They all lie to themselves and to others constantly. Lewin lies to others because he has to in order to appear normal; Arthur lies to himself so that he feels normal-ish despite blatantly knowing he isn't; Yukio lies to both himself and others for the sake of status quo and because he has crippling insecurities he would rather pretend didn't exist; and Lucifer lies to everyone including himself because his mind and ego can't handle the truth or reality, so he twists the narratives to suit himself, and to hell with the rest.

Samael, Father of Lies, absolutely despises liars.

He despises liars, and he despises those who turn away from a hard truth they'd rather not face. In his mind, these people are cowards, possibly, and I don't imagine he is fond of cowardice either. Part of why he is so hard on Yukio is because Yukio refuses to see or acknowledge the present, focusing -- and hiding in - the past or sometimes the future. He is similarly stern with Rin at times because Rin was running away from the past, but with no sense of direction for the present or future; he was lost, though, not deliberately hiding. Yukio hides; he uses the past or possible future to justify the present while acknowledging neither, and that makes him both annoying and dangerous; vascillating between the past and future without thinking about the present is how you end up circling a drain with no outlet. Yes, Yukio is depressed and stressed and has some serious trauma issues, and that is why he acts that way - no doubt Mephisto is well aware of that - but he also was stubborn and foolish and refused to accept help in any way except very marginally for his way, and his way was not what he needed. And I just don't see Samael having the greatest patience with people who wallow in their misery and refuse to help themselves, or if they are, like with Yukio, then they won't listen to reason if they're wrong.

Samael does not like people who deny the truth. Who insist they know better than he does, who won't budge an inch no matter what he tells them. He has not the patience, and after a lifetime of dealing with Mr. Narc Himself I honestly can't blame him for that.

At the same time, he finds great delight in tormenting people he despises. He ribs Arthur all the time and makes a mockery of him, he belittles Yukio and infantalizes him in some respects; He openly says he doesn't like Lewin and finds him creepy due to his persistent, invasive intrigue regarding himself, and doesn't bother him much I feel because anything Samael did do to bugger him would only entice him more; and he can do nary a thing about Lucifer, except quietly chide him in the back of his mind and hope his brother comes to his senses eventually. A hope I think he has lost all faith in.

Now, I feel a need to bring up an odd little relationship regarding these things - Amaimon.

Does Samael dislike Amaimon? Yes, i think he does, in a way. But he dislikes him because he is rude and lazy and doesn't like to think for himself or make hard decisions and acts like a total child about it when he does. Amaimon doesn't pick sides because he doesn't want to think about the ramifications of either choice, so he just doesn't make one. (until he has to). Amaimon doesn't like actual hard work, so to entice him to do anything one must invite him to "play" or offer a reward - and sometimes punishment - worth motivating him. Amaimon does not give a single flying fuck if anyone really likes him or not, which I do think Samael finds admirable about him actually, but it comes with the caveat that he can't trust Amaimon to blend in very well or follow a set of rules he sees no point in following, like "Dont punch people, because they die, and we dont want them to die". To explain anything to Amaimon, one must explain it in his terms, on his terms, which makes him difficult and annoying to deal with at times because if there's no relevance to himself going on, he has no reason to care. He is the quintessential "not my problem" guy.

(I confess after writing this I am a lot like him in many regards)

Samael doesn't appreciate people who make his life more difficult, I would say for the above case. He prefers things to go a certain way, and people who propose to mess this up by being stubborn and difficult to control are thorns in his side; but he is willing to put up with them for the greater good of his work.

Rin is another thorny case for Samael at times, though its more that Rin has the utmost potential to be a problem than that he presently is one; Rin is strong willed, though not exactly stubborn - he can be plied fairly easily with the right kind of persuasion, and as recent chapters have so kindly delivered onto us, Rin is the faith-having sort of person; he believes in Mephisto's power and abilities, and has faith that Samael would be able to put the world to rights if Satan wasn't being such a stubborn Git about it all.

That being said, I could easily see the tables turning if Rin decided to get in Samael's way and provoke him with his stubbornness, especially since Rin isn't always keen on listening to reason, so I hesitate to say Samael likes or dislikes Rin outright - I think he's an edge case and that Samael cautiously likes him, but would absolutely kill or maim him if it came to that. And I personally am of the mind that Rin is very much aware of this.

So, to recap -

Samael does not like Liars, Truth Deniers, and People Who Make Life Harder.

I also am of the mind he has a particularly vengeful distaste for thieves, based on the possessiveness of his personality and penchant for collecting things, but only insofar as they have stolen from him. After all I doubt he got all of his own belongings by moral means, given Loki and Dionysus' penchant for being thieves themselves. So steal away - just don't steal things from the Devil, maybe. Unless he wants you to. (Ahem, Impure King arc). But even then, probably not the wisest idea.

what a coincidence, certainly not indicative of who the majority of Clyde stans (or even fans) are, nope. definitely DOESN'T explain why so many Clyde fans are rude, pretentious, and prone to projection ("we're the REAL Claude fans!! everyone who doesn't like Clyde never REALLY liked Claude!!" sure bud tell yourself that) i promise.

Basically, yeah. They think it's "the real him", citing that one interview (that didn't actually say Claude was planned to be super shady, just that he wasn't quite as "good" as he turned out to be (but the final version is obviously something they were comfortable and satisifed with or they wouldn't have bothered).

Apparently they think it's "good" because he's "only invading Faerghus and killing their people to get to and kill Rhea, who is Very BaD". From almost every person in support of GW Claude, it's an extremely tunnel visioned mindset of the ends justifying the means only as long as Rhea is killed... and as someone who has been actively part of Joe Z's community for about three years now, I can absolutely without question and with full confidence tell you that most of the Claude community absolutely despises Rhea and takes full enjoyment of the idea of Claude murdering her.

Yes, I am being serious and no, I am not exaggerating. I was in his livestreams on Twitch so I could see the chat. Some of the shit I've seen is pretty appalling honestly. I love Joe, but his takes on Claude were a bit sketchy for me because he was part of the "let's go kill Rhea because she's evil" brigade. The Claude community at large typically knows of his content, but it's not just his community and it's not just the people outside of his community - it's both.

You're completely right about the Claude stans too, sadly. Not all Claude fans do that, not even all GW Claude fans, but I've seen my faaair share of "we're the real fans" and "you don't understand him" from people who prefer his behavior in Hopes. Apparently they wholly missed the part where Hopes was an AU, or maybe they just imagined the eye patch on Dimitri the whole time and never noticed.

I don't have a problem with people liking the writing or liking that version of Claude, but most of the ones I've met or seen posts from are like... very pushy and aggressive about it. Thankfully most of them did catch the racist understones and don't support that, i.e. actual Claude fans and not uwugard stans, though of course uwugard stans don't care about that at all because yes, certainly, let the brown man be questionable and do evil things for our Totally Not Evil white waifu. Yaaaawn.

It also really sucks because I only know a few people who liked GW Claude without liking him in a hypocritcal way. Like sure, you can find it interesting and still like him while understanding what he did wasn't good or justifiable (justifiable because he did not choose violence as a last resort in any of his battles, whether they were fights he picked/started or not). The closest he came was begging his abusive, hateful brother to stop fighting him, which was... uh... yeah, okay). It's just that the ones who now think they're the "true fans" are very loud and mean.

Like nah, I'm gonna keep liking my big brained Claude who can fight his battles with words and secrecy. Everyone else is doing the violence thing, so I'm perfectly happy with Claude being the outlier and being the unexpectedly different one. I happen to like the contrast in his personality, wanting to bring people together and make everyone happy pappy sunshine and rainbowy friends, while still having that fear of rejection, of being hated and feeling the need to be sneaky and secretive because he's paranoid. I like the guy who makes poisons that are "relatively harmelss" and sleeps with a knife under his pillow, but who also wants to be lighthearted, learn to love others and be loved in return for the first time in his life. That was a fun, interesting, detailed character.

Pretty sure I'm a "true Claude fan" just like the next guy who likes GW Claude but isn't a dick to other people about it.

Ok, I want to vent about my personal experience with a subset of m/m shippers. I have a lot to say and I'm too afraid to express it to anyone. I have a friend who vehemently despises a particular m/m ship in my fandom (it's not a canon ship by any stretch of the imagination, just a popular fanon one) and she will openly say she hates it if asked and she's been attacked a lot for hating this ship and been called a homophobe and been told to kill herself etc. I feel the same but keep my mouth shut because I'm afraid of the same backlash. (Just to clarify, my friend doesn't seek out this content to hate on. In fact, she'd rather not see it at all and she actively blocks and mutes creators for this ship, she only talks about hating it if anyone asks her about it.)

So here's what I want to get off my chest. In my personal online experience, I have found that m/m shippers are the most pushy, rude and overbearing types of fans. This is not all m/m shippers, or even a majority. Most of them are great and very nice people but when there's bad behaviour, I usually have gotten it from toxic incel types and m/m shippers. I ship m/f of a popular 'bad ass' character that these kinds of incels like to think they identify with (wrong, the character is super respectful to women and is basically everything an incel isn't) but it triggers them a lot to see this guy they look up to being happy with a girl. So I think the incel reaction is self-explanatory.

But this subset of m/m shippers, and I've noticed them in all fandoms, I just don't understand. Their ships are all headcanon, just like my m/f ship. I live by ship and let ship. I mean, people could ship my beloved character with his refrigerator for all I care, that's cool. What's not cool is insisting, forcefully, rudely insisting that anyone that ships him outside the popular m/m ship is wrong.

My ship is headcanon and I have never remotely said anything like "This is the one true otp" and "everyone KNOWS X is actually straight". But I see this sort of thing all the time from the m/m shippers.

I recently saw an innocuous post on Instagram where the OP was giving their headcanons for different fandoms saying "I think these characters are straight, these characters are gay, these characters are non-binary, these characters are bisexual, these characters are aroace etc" and in their "Straight characters" they included Bakugo from MHA (not my fandom but it's a good example). You should've seen the comments tearing into the OP. "Um hello, everyone KNOWS Bakugo is gay", "Yeah no...Bakugo is gay lmao", "Wtf? Bakugo is obviously gay, this is idiotic" etc. And I thought...since when does *everyone know* Bakugo is gay? Pretty sure it's never been confirmed either way in MHA so why this hostile reaction to someone sharing their headcanons?

I've seen similar things in other fandoms including my own.

I understand there's a lack of positive representation of the lgbtq community in anime and manga and I think it's great that people explore characters' sexualities and create a variety of ships for them and create relationships that they can identify with. I've seen my comfort character shipped as gay, bi, straight, ace, pan and I think it's wonderful that people can take this awesome guy and write/draw him in a way that represents them, or comforts them but it's not so wonderful when you're beaten over the head for not making him gay with the other popular male character.

There's this sense of superiority among SOME m/m shippers that I haven't personally seen in m/f shippers in my fandom and it really gets under my skin. I'm sick of being told or implied I'm wrong or inferior because I don't ship m/m.

Anyway, sorry for the long rant but I've never let this out anywhere. I try to curate my online experience as much as possible so I don't run into ships or content that I don't like but sometimes these kinds of people still find me and it bothers me that I feel I can't speak out against them because it feels that any negative remark on m/m shippers, even when it's valid, will be very quickly labeled as homophobic.

I mean... where are you hanging out? I promise you that "How dare you not love my canon het ship?" types and many other shipwarring assholes are just as bad. You just haven't been meeting them. Which faction is the most toxic just depends on the fandom and the platform.

Alder and I never actually looked at her canon history before we made her the character she is in BT now bcus we thought she was just a Background Character (which she is!) but it turns out she has Some Importance in canon side books

to start off, she’s in the same generation as Leopardfur! Older by a few moons or so, I believe. I read Leopardstar’s Honor so I should know but c’mon who remembers that stuff lmao. apparently Leopardfur thought she was bossy. tbf i think all the kits except Sunfish? and maybe Frogleap? were mean to Leopardfur in some way. but i still classified them as friends! kithood friends. they all stood together when Skypaw was held back and waited to become warriors with her. how nice :)

she’s also Crookedjaw’s first apprentice! she appears to be a little rambunctious and over-energetic. y’know, one of your typical apprentice personalities. she also apparently thinks Rippleclaw is really cool! this ties in nicely with the “admirance” part of her personality - i think she can get a little ‘obsessed’ over certain people and idolize them as a ‘can do no wrong’ kind of thing.

onto her personality! our Sedgecreek is kind of a well-meaning but self-serving kind of cat. she wants good for her friends and clanmates, but she’s also a bit oblivious, or, well “bossy.” despite Lightningfur constantly clearly pushing her away or calling her annoying/disgusting, Sedgecreek is just “aw! so cute :) she’s playing hard to get teehee.” she is very straight-forward herself though! she doesn’t hide her crush on Lightningfur and is unphased by any teasing.

as for why Sedgecreek has a crush on Lightningfur? it was completely randomly selected, in the moment sort of author decision. but, upon reflection, the reason would be simply that Sedgecreek was impressed by Lightningfur after the flood. previously she just kind of thought Lightningfur was There and ThunderClan and Out of Place and ignored her. but after the flood, where Lightningfur saved the kits and helped keep the clan calm/safe, Sedgecreek thought Lightningfur was noble and selfless. she began to believe that underneath that rough, prickly exterior, there was a kind and shy soul wanting to be loved, and Sedgecreek continues to blindly believe it to this day

but why does Lightningfur hate Sedgecreek?

at first, when Sedge first started being pushy and invading her personal space, Lightning truly and utterly hated her - she was the bane of her existence! she was annoying, pushy, didn’t leave Lightning alone like she wanted, had this disgusting “crush” on her (Lightning hates romance! the idea sickened her to her core!), and she wasn’t even a strong or smart warrior (in Lightning’s opinion)! Sedge doesn’t have the best understanding of boundaries, so its honestly understandable why Lightning is annoyed by her.

but after Silverstream’s death, there was a slight change over time. Sedge thought Lightning needed even more support and love after such a tragic event (Sedge was not so blind that she didn’t see that Lightning had a crush on Silver). at first Lightning hated this, desperately wanting space. but being alone while filled with hatred is a bitter existence and Sedge’s persistent attempts broke Lightning a little. though Lightning still hates her, now it’s because Sedge isn’t Silverstream. no one will ever be as perfect a best friend as Silverstream, so she is outright refusing to truly stop hating Sedge, and keeps herself in the cycle of despising Sedge. but all the while, Sedge has sort of become her new best friend, because at the very least Lightning acknowledges that she’s very very loyal and she begrudgingly/unconsciously keeps Sedge in her ‘inner circle.’

besides, Lightning would rather be "besties” with Sedge than creepy cultish old man Rippleclaw

(also things of note are: Thistlestar killed her dad, Timberfur. he poisoned the prey that killed Timberfur the deputy, which lead to Oakheart becoming deputy and so forth. Thistlestar also killed her mentor Crookedstar, obviously.

for honestly like. as many guys as you want: 12. How does your oc handle talking to somebody they can’t stand? What if it’s a situation where they’re forced to work with this person? [first thought was nickle, then casey, then veto, and then i realized this is a good question for literally everyone]

lets GO

CASEY: 1) They don't. Silence. No eye contact. If forced to work together, they try to focus on the task at hand and stick to the facts. Or 2) It's Octave, and they get really heated arguing over the way things actually are. Complaining. Loudly announcing how terrible things are. Asking frequent questions and objecting to risks. Trying to stick to the rules. Agitated over the lack of regard for the rules. Much more likely to actually use sarcasm or say rude things. Ironically, emotes and expresses strong opinions more than usual.

NICKLE: Tries to get along with them. Nickle doesn't dismiss anyone as beyond worthy of their friendship, even if they have a hard time being around them. They will feel guilty about it. Passive aggressive, overly helpful, tries to find common ground. The exception is if this person has threatened or harmed the people they love, at which point Nickle switches to hating them. Then: Murder smiles. Little comments that are meant to get under their skin. Will try to intimidate them. Watches them constantly to keep them in line.

OCTAVE: Absolute asshole. Constant threats and snapping. Will demand you keep your mouth shut when they aren't threatening to kill you. They don't believe that they need anyone else, and they're willing to do three times as much work if someone walks out on them. Either you work around them or get out. Will also show that they're better at what they do at all costs. Has a special little violent loathing reserved just for people who (in Octave's opinion) think they're smarter than they are. (Has a special little thing where they despise, provoke, intimidate, and casually fuck with Casey. Threw a knife near their head whenever they came into a room to make them jump. Was banned from throwing knives at them and given a stress ball. Started throwing the stress ball near their head instead and got the exact same reaction.)

VETO: Generally doesn't seem fazed. They deal with plenty of shitheads on the internet. The pragmatism of "I'll work with someone I hate" and the mastermind act sometimes reveals something a lot pettier. Veto will treat anyone as a rival, so long as their own position is secure. Tries to get a power position, makes sure that they are either equal to or slightly in charge of the threat.

BLITZ: Still polite. Sometimes even friendly. May be cold and hostile, or even outright threatening, if it's the right person. Keeps their distance.

DEAD EYES (bonus): 1) Acts polite, but makes little comments that make it clear they don't respect them (K-Com). Wants to seem like their hands are clean. 2) OR it's Mav. They hate Mav. Genuinely irritated by this awful guy. Hates er attitude, hates er voice, hates er awful car. Can be seen visibly trying not to lose their patience. Trying not to get pulled into interactions (and Mav knows it). The "just ignore them" philosophy at work, which is to say not working. Completely willing to shoot them when they can get away with it. Acts above it all.

VYE: Doesn't respond directly or immediately. Doesn't even seem to mind. She likes it. May get a little obsessed with you. May also ignore you and just arrange your death. Expect to be used to further her ambitions and to get so many incredibly personal provocative remarks. It takes a lot to get this reaction from her.

OGRE: Fumes. Can't wait to crush their little head. Hates them so obviously but isn't allowed to kill them. May do so anyways.

GLOAM: Very clearly doesn't like them, but won't try to hurt them. Will probably still save their life.

FRISS: Snaps, gets rude and pushy. She doesn't take disrespect and will not let you argue with her expertise. Tolerates you only so the job gets done. Will call your manager. Will take you to court. Will shoot you.

BIGGUNS: Threatens to break your arm.

KOR: Glares. Attitude. Doesn't pretend to be nice. Will not hurt you unless you deserve it, will generally not engage in hostile behavior if kors commanding officers disapprove. Kind of hard to distinguish between this and how kor usually treats people.

DIANIDA: Used to it. Just files you as someone she'll have to pressure into cooperating and moves on.

KYU-AR: Nervous, quiet, tries not to engage. May hide behind someone else.

STYX: Tries to keep things a friendly, but starts losing patience visibly. Some comments slip out. Will hold their ground if challenged directly.

ACEL: Generally goes flat. Expects to be disrespected, treated as subordinate. Will not start confrontations and will allow someone else to act like they can push them around, but the look in their eyes makes it clear they're planning a mutiny.

HUBBLE: Cold professionalism. Most of the people Hubble can't stand are people Hubble will actively wish dead. May be calculating how to get there. Will not let it get in the way of work.

TESSERATE: Indistinguishable from how they talk to anyone else.

MAV: BORING! Bar, shoot that guy!

K-Com: Sticks to procedure. Just hates their job a little more.

CAPRI: Acts out. Annoys them, refuses to cooperate. Or just reminds them where they stand.

I hate Halloween so much. I hate how everyone acts like it's the fucking greatest holiday and when you tell them you don't like it because if trauma they act like it's not valid and i should like it anyway because funny costume.

I despise that holiday, I hate the people that send screamers, I hate people that act like everyone celebrates it. I just want to hide in my house and cut myself off of the internet because I know October is coming and everyone acts like it's here already.

Great skeletons in July, spooks early, wow. It's specially bad because this year I'm full on work and I'm stressed out already and i just want to talk with someone who is willing to act like it's not a thing and doesn't remind me of it.

I just wanna cry you know? Even writing this post which i feel like not even posting because it's long and dumb and people will ridicule me for having trauma about a holiday and being paranoid of things i see in the corner of my eye and suspicious of clicking on videos sent by random persons. And I don't wanna be rude to people who like it but it feels like everyone is pushy about it and it's worse when some of them don't like Christmas and they are pushy about me not talking about it but if i ask not to talk about Halloween they get rude and man i just hate this holiday so much, i wanna die

ok, let me put my thoughts into coherent words. so-

i also understand where you are coming from, anon. you're not alone with this opinion. of course, you are all allowed to hate her character & everything, especially that it wasn't in the original webtoon to begin with, so it was given that it'll modify the outcome of the drama. but times like this i always wonder: do people watch dramas as they are or as they want it to be like?

i think these are empty projections to be very honest.

i have never despised her character and i have never seen any implications that they meant to be, therefore i don't understant the general outrage she's getting. it's people and their warped imagination that goes "they'll have a relationship, look at them! the hate they feel for each other is so intense it's nearly attraction and love!" let me ask you: do you also feel attraction to people you hate and have different values from? if not, then why do you force this emotion on a pair that showed no sign of attraction but more likely utter loath (and then some understanding) based on how they're handling justice differently?

kang hana wanted to get rid of dogi and ceo jang from the very beginning while dogi kept his distance from her as much as he could because he knew she means huge danger. why do you all trying to force romantic feelings into plots that have different stories to tell? why do you all think that a story isn't whole without romance when it's obviously not true? it's you all that project that love line into stories, not the writers.

those that complain that "she was annoying, she was everywhere!" of course, you smartass peanut. as a prosecutor, who saw a mysterious car taking away criminals, sniffing out that one of your closest acquitances did it, with a mindset that you 'have to catch that one true criminal even if it means letting go a hundred' you'd also be everywhere near them. if she'd just stood on the sidelines, thinking "something is going on but it's my boss' best friend and my boss also told me to stay put anyway" then she wouldn't do her job right - and that was also the point of the story. kang hana was a prosecutor that took her job seriously & did it right while the other deadbeat prosecutors did what their boss and secured connections told them to do, and was also restricted by idiotic laws these criminals knew like the back of their hand - as that rat park yangjin did. please, be serious for a moment.

i also find it strange that when fans like me point out that dogi showed bigger affection towards goeun, people usually go "but don't they have a more sibling-like connection? i mean, their age difference-" again, if you had actually watched the drama and not let your imagination take over and write a different story, you'd seen that their connection is not sibling-like, (also not love-like, true), but it's obvious that the two have something going on. go eun seeing the bandaid set dogi gave her in the middle of her breakdown, dogi rushing to her after goeun saw the videos of her sister, or concentrating saving her first before everyone else in the end - subtle signs of placing her in front, and not because she's the only woman on board. and the joke is they've somewhat even confirmed this at the end of season 2 when they had a beer on the rooftop. dogi is not creepy towards goeun, and goeun never threw herself at him, but you could see how she was a little jealous of hana and how goeun is important to dogi. apart from this, i don't think age is a matter in here since they've met as real adults. (not to mention that esom is only two years older than pyo yejin, so all this age difference yapping is tiresome the least).

so again: do you all actually watch these dramas or fantasize about a different outcome out of anger? the creators push the signs and clues into your faces, what more do you need to read them?

Really though that is super hard, i have wayyy too many ocs and my favorite sort of swaps around every few months or so. sometimes it just cycles between the same few for a year or two though.

I would sayyyy right now? Probably anybody from Mary's whole squad. Which would be her (Mary-Anne Cassia), Samiel, Roberto Yun-Capo, Hale-Bopp, Puss in Boots (aka Danyel Mewette), and Winter Adams. All of them are here in this photo! (Hale in the star, Winter in the heart, Roberto in the triangle, Puss in the square, Mary in the circle, and Samiel in the..whatever you call that shape. He has the gun)

To narrow it down even further, specifically my top 4 are hale, mary, puss, and roberto. And then out of that Mary and Puss are probably the two im currently most focused on (but again the whole cycling thing applies here ahjgdjhfg for all i know next week ill be back into being obsessed with roberto)

I like them mostly because they're my first ocs that are actually in a sort of sci-fi setting, which is something i always wanted to do but struggled to! But then i watched Wander Over Yonder again and i was like damn....i could do this but with insane people.

All of them except for Hale-Bopp started off as either Lobotomy Corp OCs or just straight up LC characters that i just..yoinked and changed up a bit, because me and my girlfriend have a Lobotoym Corp rp and their personalities had developed enough to basically not be themselves as they were at the beggining anymore. Samiel was Der Freischutz, and Puss in Boots is.....Puss in Boots. Although he was never actually in the game, he was cut content that we decided to bring in for the rp, so everything about him is still, essentially, about 90% my own creation, since the only thing he had in his cut content was art and some flavor text.

I really like Mary in particular because i think she is just, a horrible human being, but in an interesting and somewhat sympathetic way. Which is something done a lot I know, but i mean hey there's a reason those sorts of characters get so popular ajhgdhj. She does awful things and doesn't let herself open up genuinely to anybody, but she's masks all of it under multiple layers of joking around and being weird in general. She's extremely emotionally stunted, refuses to allow herself to experience genuine connection despite desperately wanting it, and she makes this into everyone's problem. But she's very good at what she does, and extremely competent in other aspects, which is what manages to keep the whole group together.

Puss in Boots on the other hand, is also an emotionally stunted character but in a different form. It's not quite as bad as Mary, who can't handle emotions in herself nor with others very well. Instead Puss mostly struggles with handling his own thoughts and feelings while being excellent with other people. Sort of. He's great at reading people, and he isn't dumb, he often has great advice, but what he is, is PUSHY. He doesn't know how to let things happen naturally, and so often makes things worse instead before theres any progress. I think that the dynamic between him and his (unwillingly, on Puss's end) estranged brother is fun to explore. He has a very strong sense of justice and has lots of conflict with Mary, because she's one of the few people who he can't read very well (Samiel being another one, but he's still easier than Mary) He can't tell if he despises Mary or if he's just concerned for her, and it keeps him around on the ship out of fascination, like a pet project. He hates everything about most of the crew (except winter, and somewhat okay with Roberto) he hates their behavior, their jobs (3/6 of the crew being hitmen/assassins) and most of all he can't stand their morals, or lack thereof.

It'd be a LOT to go into further detail ajhgdhjdf so i think this will do fine as a start bc its. um. 7AM where i am and i have not slept. Oops! Never Not No Trump

It takes effort to be loathsome while resisting someone so contemptible. Never Trump grifters remain as objectionable as the enemy who remains their sole purpose years after his tantrum upon losing to Joe Biden ended his career. They hate to hear that, so be sure to repeat it to them.

A debate with options where neither is particularly fun at least summarizes out times. Were the smarmy buffoons liberals the whole time or just sellouts whose guiding principle is churning out whatever dreck donors will pay them? Both philosophies are just lovely in their way.

It’s at least fun to mock the soulless dispatchers and bulwark custodians like determining who’s the worst Cleveland Browns draft pick. But players presumably wanted to play well even if it seemed like they only wanted to collect paychecks.

Gatherers of gold who allegedly resist the equivalent are worst mercenaries available. Effete quasi-elites who struggle to lift their tweeting devices are not about to win your war. Pleasing the daft wealthy dopes who are keeping them afloat is their only victory, and it sure feels Pyrrhic. Besting Hillary Clinton is another uncanny parallel.

People who’ve read the Constitution are punished for not joining either cult. Members seemed a bit pushy even before we asked about day care and gym discounts. If you just wanted somewhere to serve as an oasis for respecting federal limits, you’ve been enjoying life on the road as a nomad.

Our quite same times feature shrieking liberals freaking out about the most liberal Republican president around. True dissenters didn’t want to join a GOP bully cult, either. An unwavering ideology was supposed to be the whole point. For some, the guiding mantra was to rake in cash by exploiting whoever was in a lather.

Government sucks. Some things remain consistent. The party that ostensibly exposes its eternal expansion doesn’t become cool while wielding authority. Remaining in favor of cutting federal spending in half as a good start to cutting it by 95 percent.

Values remain constant for constant people. The question of whether it’s better to abandon them for a quick cash infusion or reflexively disagree with whatever a wayward ex-president spews is a debate for the august pages of a stalwart ether journal.

The resistance unit despises Trump so much that they became liberals. They make as much sense as each other. One of the countless cases against him as the Republican standard-bearer is his fondness for invasive government.

An all-time buffoon’s capricious lust for autocracy came about either because he’s a fan of an intrusive state or just because he likes pretending he’s a strongman boss. I don’t know what excuse his sworn foes use.

Delivery means nothing for the unstylish. Both factions of alleged conservative standard-bearers argue for federal invasiveness. Agreeing with Democrats in order to resist a surly executive whose policies sure often sounded similar is the sort of skirmish each side deserves. Unfortunately, the collateral damage only starts with increased unfathomable debt.

One thing not getting promoted is adherence to the Constitution. Fighting for liberalism is just what the villain in question wants as long as he’s the one who gets to tell everyone else what to do. Obeying pleases Trump as much as unchecked fealty.

Trump’s superpower is dragging down others into the sewer with him. It’s not a particularly nice or useful ability, but it did get him enough notoriety to host a reality show and win some election. The cartoonish caricature is unlike Lex Luthor, who actually earned a fortune while admitting he was bald. Taking the bait is the Lincoln Project’s specialty.

Arguing on his miserable terms apparently isn’t bad enough. Altering views based on what they think their opponent believes serves as one heck of an editorial policy. Ending up agreeing with the de facto Democrat means the farce continues. For the record, tariffs are foolish no matter which president from which party thinks punishing the crime of buying imported goods thinks.

Commentators we respected show that The Simpsons isn’t alone in either getting praised as the greatest or condemned as irrelevant while losing its purpose depending on the era. Missing when it was awesome makes present lamentable output even more agonizing by comparison. Some consumers of conservative commentary may have dug their contributions to National Review or the Weekly Standard in years past. But Trump sunk the reputation of everyone who defined themselves in relation to him whether they were for or against.

Thorough charlatans remain linked in ostensible opposition to a petulant fraud who hasn’t been president since just after his minions threw a vicarious tantrum for him. The only thing worse than taping one’s personality to another is constantly announcing they reject him. People who themselves by what they hate are surely as joyous as they are distinct.

Trump’s semiprofessional adversaries don’t want his tired toxic shtick exiled to the past. His self-parodic shtick was tiresome enough in the ‘80s when it was in semi-vogue. But volunteer sentries would feel purposeless without their bête noire and his black glass. Similar phonies still stake their identities on dissenting against who he pretends to be.

Defiantly rejecting allegedly sacrosanct conservative policies was a missed opportunity to reaffirm doctrine just like shyster developer was precisely the wrong person to rebuild the wreckage left by the Obama presidency. The lost chance is perfectly reminiscent of Trump’s tenure. They really are the same.
