Indie horror filmmaker Eddie Munson, high off his first big (underground but notable) success, knows the movers and shakers of the film world have their eyes on him.
They're just waiting to see if he was a one hit wonder before they open all the doors he's been trying to kick down.
His next upcoming film is his chance, his shot at finally making it. Of being like Rob Zombie and the other creators he looks up to that masterfully blended metal and horror.
This is his golden ticket.
The project starts off smooth. His last success has greased the wheels, and things fall into place faster than ever before.
He's got the best idea for this insane haunted house story, a true "mazes in mazes" type of deal with a queer twist. A real look at how a place can haunt a person just as easily as a ghost can.
Everything's going swimmingly--until one of his leads drops out the day they're due to start shooting.
No call no show's, and later, Eddie will find out the guy got a last second call back to be a contestant on one of those Love Island bullshit romance gigs (and laugh his ass off when the main love interest takes one look at Billy Hargrove and goes on a five minute rant about ugly mullets on national television) but right now?
He's fucked.
He's called in every favor he has for this film. Maxed out every credit card he owns, tapped every contact, got on his hands and knees and begged his rising star journalist best bud to help him market it. (Which Nancy agreed too, for way less cash than she should have.)
Eddie can't get anyone on the phone, much less find a replacement actor and the amazing place they rented, that is so dark and wonderfully eerie, is booked out the rest of the year as an AirBnB.
If he doesn't film now, he loses it all.
Cue the other lead, unknown theater actor Steve Harrington, watching his hair pulling, tire kicking, 'cursing and hopping while holding a toe' mental breakdown and asks why Eddie himself doesn't act in it.
"Just go full Kevin Smith man. Act and direct." He says, with an easy grin.
Jeff, Eddie's tried and true videographer, trades glances with Gareth and Grant (Eddie's long used special effects and makeup team, who double for about twelve other jobs because they're also his best friends and they're all in this together, make or break.)
"We don't really have a lot of other options." Gareth hedges. "You're already using me and Grant as background characters."
Eddie, hands fluttering around his face as though trying to wave away this entire situation, squeezes his eyes shut and lets out a pained hiss.
"Fine, fine!" He announces with the air of a man running towards a fire. "Fuck it, this is our one shot and so help me I will be shooting it!"
Steve politely hides a laugh with a cough.
"Chuckle all you want big boy, I'm going to tragically romance you so hard people will forget both of our characters actually live." Eddie snarls.
Steve, the handsome bastard, just winks.  "Looking forward to it."
Eddie blushes, but hides it with a surge of frantic energy, conveyed by lots of yelling and moving and getting the ball rolling.
Two days later, Steve would give the performance of a lifetime down on his knees, covered in a literal pound of fake gore, booty shorts and nothing else as he sobbed about how a lover could become a home. His hands clawed at Eddie's jeans before resting a tear stained face on a slim leg as he bent his body towards Eddie like it hurt to be away from him.
Eddie would later receive equal praise in his own acting during the scene, with the world and every reporter in it asking how he conveyed an otherworldly panic so beautifully throughout Steve's performance. What was he thinking, to evoke those expressions on his face?
The way his own pale hand, unmarred by blood and acting as a metaphor for the plot, would come to stroke Steve's cheeks.
Eventually he'd come up with a smooth polished answer that cheekily pleased his audience, but nothing would ever come close to the truth.
("Eddie I've known you since grade school." Jeff said that night, a scant few hours after they'd wrapped. "You can act man, but not like that."
Eddie made a wild "shut up" gesture, looking frantically over his shoulder before admitting; "You saw how close his face was to the prince of darkness!? I was seconds away from popping a boner next to his lips, in front of the 4K camera!”
Eddie bounced into Jeff’s face so he could hiss: “He fucking had his chin on my thigh, Jeff, and I am only a man. A mere mortal!"
"So we're gonna unpack all of that later." Jeff said finally, when he'd managed to get his mouth working and Eddie back out of his personal space. "But dude, we've talked about you calling your dick the prince of darkness."
Eddie flipped him off.)
One year later and critics named Corroded the best horror film of the year, praising the camera work, practical effects, and how there wasn't a soul alive who was surprised to hear Eddie and Steve were dating after their explosive on screen chemistry.
No one ever quite understood the prince of darkness jokes or why Steve mentioning it made Eddie blush, but that was a secret to find out later.
Today on WIP’s I have no intention of writing, indie horror movie AU!

I love the concept of Banshee!Danny like what a vibe! An immaculate aesthetic! I need a horror movie style fic where the A-listers do dumb shit in the woods and start getting hunted for sport
Then they stumble on Danny being a whole ass cryptid in human form, wailing in warning and trying to save them and they think HE’S going to try to kill them tho they can’t agree if Danny is possessed or if he’s gone Carrie

Hi Lena! I hope your week has been pleasant thus far!
I’m not sure if this question has already been asked yet, but what kind of characters would the ROs be in a horror movie? Like, who’s the cynical character that doesn’t believe the monster is real, the cocky guy who is all like “yeah I can beat this idiot no problem”, the “survivor” character that shows up later in the movie to help the main cast, etc.
Sorry if this question doesn’t really make any sense, feel free to ignore this is you want! 😅
Hi there, I sort of answered this question in various different ways--I'd recommend checking out the Halloween horror masterpost, which has a few different horror AUs!--but I didn't really specify what "tropes" the characters might fall into, so here goes!
Blade: I'd think he's the leader character who tries to give everyone the best chances of survival by directing them to defend themselves and makes you feel safe with his presence (you know, like the older brother who was in the military or the super strong athlete boyfriend or the hyper-competent neighbor with a mysterious set of skills or what have you), but then he has to leave the group because he stands the best chance of getting help (thus removing the comfort of his presence and rocketing up the anxiety of the film); he probably gets "killed" by the killer in a jumpscare and is knocked out and left for dead for most of the movie, then shows up all bloodied to stab the killer in the back at the last minute when the audience thought he was dead! So he survives, but he's pretty heavily injured and the rest of the group has to help him make it out
Trouble: he's full of confident bravado, like "you know what? *grabs kitchen knife* fuck this guy, I can take him! he can't get all of us!!" *immediately gets killed* or *power goes out* *in an effort to reassure the group* "don't worry guys, I'll go out there by myself to check the circuit box, nothing could go wrong!" Or he's the guy who "sacrifices" himself so the rest of the group can get away, potentially with the surprise ending of coming back with the police to arrest the killer and finding him alive after all! So he has a very low chance of survival, but he might live depending on how things shake out!
Tallys: she has final girl energy for sure, she's the one hearing Trouble offering to go outside in the storm alone and is savvy enough to be like "mm-mm. nope. we're not doing that. not today!" She's the one who doesn't seem like she's doing much throughout the movie as all the people are getting picked off, but then you see her doing really clever things like rigging booby traps or hiding under a bed so she can stab the killer in a foot or something crazy like that. Her self-preservation instincts and cunning definitely means she's going to make it through to the end: whether she's the lone survivor or if her skills guided the group to safety after Blade and Trouble got taken out just depends on what type of movie we're watching, lol!
Shery: sadly, she has helpless victim energy where she's so terrified and unskilled that someone (like Trouble) might first die defending her, making the audience frustrated, and then she might end up dying as well! Or she might end up just hiding away somewhere, not able to contribute but not dying, either! ...But yeah, she has sweet, innocent, sacrificial lamb energy, so she might die just to show the audience how wicked the villain truly is 😭
Riel: he's the skeptic of the group, he's the one who refuses to believe that anything supernatural is going on, he's the logician who flatly says, "this can't be happening. there has to be some other explanation." I feel like those types of people generally die in horror movies, so he's probably dead, but if we're not going by horror movie rules, he's probably smart enough to outwit the killer/supernatural threat if he can break through his own disbelief and actually start scheming against it! If it's like a monster or something like that, he stands a good chance, but if it's a demon or a ghost, he's probably dead 😵
Chase: he's the comic relief, he's the one keeping the morale group high, he's the clown who seems largely unfazed by what's happening but is skilled and capable enough to help defend the group. I feel like those types stand a solid 50/50 chance in most horror movies, where if they're minor characters, they'll definitely die, but if they're major members of the cast, they end up being one of the heroes of the story because the audience is fond of and rooting for them. Given Chase's uncanny ability to survive most things life throws at him, however improbable, I think he's one of the last ones standing, kind of like in Cabin in the Woods!
Red: he's the source of information, the smart one who's providing everyone with the backstory/information/mythology of the killer/threat. The guy who's been researching local anthropology in the area and just happens to have extensive knowledge of "that one serial killer in the 80s who [insert backstory] here." He might lack the common sense or hard survival instincts of a Tallys or a Blade, but he stands a good chance of surviving so long as no one sends him off by himself! If he's caught out alone, he's 100% a goner 😔
Ayla: she has like "batshit final girl" energy, the member of the group who seems sullen and withdrawn at a party and strangers are like, "what's her deal?" and there's some backstory or implied allusion to her dark past where she survived being kidnapped by Jigsaw or her parents were killed by a serial killer or something like that, and you think it's all speculation until someone starts killing people off and she's already in the corner sticking nails in a bat or busting out the chainsaw saying grimly, "Not like this. Not again." She stands a very good chance of survival so long as her trauma doesn't make her act reckless and the killer doesn't outsmart her by digging a booby trap or something!
Briony: I feel like she either has badass final girl energy or the energy of someone who vastly underestimates her opponent, like I could see her taking charge after some of the others get taken out and is like, "Don't worry guys, I've taken tae kwon do for ten years!" and she just is like not really processing the level of depravity that is going on and just gets annihilated, or she's the one keeping the group together and like plows the killer down with a car in the chaos or something like that. If Shery causes anyone to die to protect her, though, it's definitely going to be her BFF Briony 😭
Lavinet: this is not who Lavinet is in real life, but in a horror movie AU I could definitely see her being cast as the pretty, popular, spoiled rich girl who gets gruesomely murdered first lol... realistically in her "real life" persona I definitely think she'd be a final girl, almost to the point of prioritizing her own survival over someone else's, but in horror movie trope standards I think she'd be the one making out with some random jock in the car outside before the killer pops up in the backseat and then you cut to the characters walking outside and finding the car on, idling, with the windows covered in blood 😭
Halek: he is absent/sleeps through the majority of the spooky stuff (or, like, he's the guy you see at the beginning of the movie who can't go on the trip to the haunted cabin because he has to work or some bullshit and you sort of forget he's a part of the cast but then he shows up to save the day at the end because he felt like something was off when no one was answering his text messages)! He's sort of baffled when everyone piles into his car screaming bloody murder and can't relate to their ✨ trauma ✨ but at least he saved them!

HOORAH MY QUESTIOM HAS BEEN ANSWERED I CAN REST
ALSO WHO DO YOU THINK WOULD SURVIVE THE SCREAM MOVIES AND OTHER HORROR MOVIES LIKE I CAN JUST SEE NATE AND MAEVE LIKE "WE TOLD THEM DON'T GO OUTSIDE WHEN THE POLICE ISSUES A CURFEW AND WHAT DID THWY DO GO OUTSIDE" AND LOCK EVERYONE OUT
Nate, Maeve and Addy are the only survivors. Sorry to everyone else, but come on. I can't really explain it, but I think mainly because if it were set in the Scream universe, I can imagine Nate and Maeve being Ghostface.
Also thank you for whatever ask you sent in! I know why people stay anonymous, but it's nice to know that you've sent in more than one ask! It makes me happy that people like my responses! Continue to ask away!

The Encanto Characters in a Horror Movie:
Mirabel and Dolores: The heroes trying to solve the mystery and save everybody, Dolores is also the final girl.
Isabela: Doesn’t believe that there is any horror to be wary of, dies first.
Felix: Is the one to let the heroes know there is a villain on the loose.
Agustin: “Let’s split up.” Trips while running from the murderer.
Julieta: Is the red herring suspect for the murderer. Do the foods she makes actually poison people? The world may never know.
Luisa: Survived to the end of the story…sike she dies along with Mirabel.
Pepa: Puts up a pretty good fight, is courageous, strong, and determined. Surprisingly doesn’t give away the hiding spot. She should have survived ‘till the end of the story, but something went wrong. Perhaps the writers pulled a Naomi Misora and with it her collar.
Alma: Is lying on her deathbed at the beginning of the movie, gives Mirabel and Dolores a clue that they must decipher before her eyes close…and never open again.
Bruno: The supposed villain of the film, responsible for scaring and mutilating multiple people, all because he lost his way in the family…but surprisingly he’s not the TRUE Mastermind…
Antonio: The one ACTUALLY pulling the strings with that animal mafia of his. He gave Bruno rats to spy on the family with and has Parce waiting for the moment to strike. What are our heroes to do?
Camilo: Doesn’t exist and also Mirabel is Dolores’ sister rather than cousin in this au.

Ronancetober Day 4: Horror Movie AU
please help me from my nightmare
summary:
"What's your favourite scary movie?"
After tonight, Nancy can confidently say none of them.
Read the opening scene below or you can read it in its entirety on AO3 here
“What's your favourite scary movie?”
Nancy rolls her eyes. She didn't often find herself settling in for a horror movie marathon, but Robin had asked if they could do something low-key for Halloween this year, and it wasn't like Nancy was going to deny her this request. Especially when horror films were the perfect excuse to cuddle close to her girlfriend for hours on end.
Robin had somehow roped Nancy into a whole evening of horrors, starting with the classics, before Robin said she was going to give her an “education on Horror” the following evening. Nancy didn’t mind, not really. She wasn’t the biggest Horror fan out there, but she didn’t hate the films either. Aliens had to be in her top ten favourite films of all time. But, she muses, that could purely be down to Sigourney Weaver.
It was now a few minutes to midnight and they were already three films deep in this marathon. Robin had put the DVD for Scream in and left to go make some popcorn and grab them some more drinks, citing that she could ‘quote the opening in her sleep’ and that it wouldn’t be an issue to miss a couple of minutes. Nancy would beg to differ with how much she knows Robin loves Drew Barrymore, but she won’t argue against not having to get up from the blanket nest she has created for herself, her girlfriend’s warmth still lingering beside her.
She stares idly at the screen, watching the scene play out, mentally answering the questions as her chin dips closer to her chest, eyes feeling heavy.
“I’m sorry, that’s the wrong answer.”
Nancy feels her eyes snap back to the screen, she hadn’t realised she’d begun to doze off, waiting for Robin to return. An uneasy feeling settles over her as her mind switches to alertness, jumping in place when the porch lights flip on screen. Just as she’s about to call out to Robin because shouldn’t she be back by now? the single lightbulb that lights the Wheeler basement flickers, along with the television, plunging the room into darkness, before the bulb comes back to life.
Nancy is frozen.
The television doesn’t fully come back to life, instead it’s as if the screen has burned the image of Casey, crying on the floor, into the glass. A shiver works its way up Nancy’s spine as she stares at the screen. She steps up from the couch, immediately missing the warmth as she edges closer to the stairs, eyes fixed to the television.
“Robin?” she yells up the stairs. She waits a moment, waits for any sign of Robin moving around, but receives dead air in return. She looks up the stairs, panic beginning to swell in her stomach as she yells, with more urgency, “Robin?!”
“Final question.” Nancy jumps as the television appears to have unfrozen itself. She sighs as she turns around, expecting to see the next scene playing out, but all she sees is Casey. Lying on the floor, face still frozen in anguish. Dread twisted in her gut as she turned to face the room, a dark shadowy figure creeping out of the shadowy corner, mask as white as Nancy had just seen in the movie.
Nancy’s eyes drop to their hand, the knife they hold shining in the dimly lit room. Her eyes shoot back up to the mask; their head is tilted to the side as if surveying her, like she’s some sort of prey. She swallows thickly at the realisation, and in that moment, she knows this isn’t some sick, twisted joke.
She knows what comes next.
“Are you ready?” the figure asks, following the script as they stalk closer, taking two steps towards her before they pause. Nancy can’t seem to get her feet to work, fear rooting them in place. Her eyes flicker once more to the screen in a desperate hope that this is some horrible lucid dream, but the picture is still frozen.
The figure, on the other hand, is not.

Slasher Camp AU
just a small fic for my slasher camp au. techically spoilers? but im not gonna do a multichap fic so not really
fic below the cut
They stumbled through the woods, Nancy’s arm around Robin’s waist to keep her standing upright. Robin’s breath was coming out in short, pained gasps, her own arm wrapped around the stab wound in her stomach. Her shirt was drenched with blood, getting onto Nancy’s too.
“Almost there,” Nancy said, and Robin grunted to show she had heard. “Just hold on, Rob.”
The fucker had come out of nowhere when they were coming back from the lake, jumping down from a tree. Both of them had run, looking for anything to use as a weapon, and Robin had gotten one hit in, swinging a tree branch for his leg. Then she had been knocked to the ground, a knife buried in her side seconds later.
Nancy had managed to knock him off, grabbing Robin’s arm and forcing her up. They’d gotten far enough away the killer had either given up, or was waiting to ambush them again.
“Nancy, I can’t,” Robin gasped out, and now Nancy was practically dragging her through the woods.
“You have to,” she hissed out. Robin was fucking heavy. “He’s still out here.”
Robin’s legs buckled under her, and Nancy was barely able to keep her from cracking her head on a rock.
“Fuck, Robin,” she said, crouching by her side. She pulled Robin’s shirt up to check on her injury. It was worse than she thought it was.
Blood was still spilling from the jagged cut, nearly two inches wide, just under her ribcage. The killer must have twisted the knife when he stabbed her, because parts of the injury were torn in a way a simple stab wound couldn’t do.
“That bad, huh?” Robin said weakly, eyes staring right at Nancy. Somehow, she still had that stupid sarcastic grin on her face.
“Hold on,” she said, taking Robin’s hands in her own and pressing them to the stab wound. Robin’s breath hissed out when she touched it. “Keep pressure on that, ok?”
“Aye, aye, Captain,” she said, pressing down harder on her side.
Nancy dug through her backpack, now insanely glad she had brought it. There was an extra shirt inside, a few small towels, two water canteens that were completely full, and a bottle of vodka Eddie had gotten her.
“Just in case,” she remembered him saying as he slid the bottle into her bag.
She would’ve hugged him if he was here now.
Picking the shirt out, she ripped it into long strips for bandages, then took one of the towels and a water canteen.
The bleeding had slowed a small amount, enough that Nancy could take Robin’s hands away. They were coated red.
“Hold still,” she said. “And be quiet.”
She poured the water over Robin’s wound, moving quick to wipe away the dirt, grime, and blood. Robin’s stomach tensed as she fought to stay quiet, a low groan escaping.
Once the stab wound was sufficiently clean, she uncorked the vodka. Robin’s eyes landed on it, and she chuckled.
“Drinking now, Wheeler?” she asked, and Nancy took a stick from the ground, and shoved it between Robin’s teeth. Probably disgusting, but they didn’t have any other options.
“Shut up,” she said, dropping the cork into the bag. “Bite down. This is going to hurt like a bitch.”
Something in Robin’s eyes changed, something she didn’t have the time to decipher, but the blonde nodded, jaw clenching around the wood.
Nancy lowered the bottle, lining up with the still-bleeding stab, and nodded to Robin.
Robin shut her eyes, and Nancy tipped the bottle.
Robin’s entire body convulsed, going taught as a bowstring, the instant the alcohol touched the torn flesh. A low whine came from her throat, the sound thin and reedy. Nancy’s face flushed, and she pulled the bottle away, corking it.
Robin’s eyes were shut, her chest and stomach heaving as she breathed through the pain. Sweat dripped down her temple, Nancy’s eyes following it like it was something precious.
When the blonde finally slumped onto the ground, she shook herself, face reddening at her reaction.
The clean towel was pressed to RObin’s side, and the injured girl let out a hoarse cry. Tears slipped out of her eyes, trailing down her cheeks.
“I’m almost done, Rob, I promise,” Nancy said, and helped Robin sit up so she could tie the bandages.
Her fingers moved quickly to keep herself from hurting Robin more, tightening the bandage and tying it behind Robin’s back.
“All done,” she said, for some reason her fingers moving down to the small of Robin’s back. She didn’t miss the way the blonde shivered at the touch.
Neither of them said anything for a few seconds, Robin just sitting there while Nancy’s fingertips traced over her back.
It was surprisingly intimate, and made Nancy’s skin prickle each time she moved. Robin was still breathing heavily, and Nancy’s eyes were drawn to her shoulders, the bare skin peeking through the oversized shirt almost taunting her.
Her fingers brushed over Robin’s spine, and the blonde shivered.
“Nancy,” she whispered, and her voice was hoarse. From what, she couldn’t tell.
Nancy pulled her hand back, cheeks flushing as she registered what she’d been doing. She got to her feet, shoving things into her bag.
“We have to get back,” she said, refusing to look at Robin. “Before he finds us. And you need to rest.”
Robin got up, pulling her shirt down to cover herself, wincing as she did.
“Yeah,” she said, voice still hoarse, but there was something new to her tone. “Yeah, let’s go.”
Nancy led them through the forest, back to camp.
She felt Robin’s eyes staring holes into the back of her head the entire way.
Tumblr media
Things had gotten even worse when they got back.
Somehow, the local authorities had gotten the idea that there had been a highly toxic chemical spill, and had quarantined the area.
No one in. No one out.
Nancy checked her shotgun again, the pistol and revolver already on her nightstand, ready to be fired at any given point.
The door creaked open, and she tensed, before she saw Robin coming in, hands filled with random items.
“I got some actual medical supplies,” she said, already talking fast. “Bandages, anti-bacterial stuff because you know that creep doesn’t bother cleaning his weapons and infections are bad enough when you can go to a hospital and we’re all stuck here so we should probably-“
“Robin!” Nancy snapped, immediately regretting it when she saw the hurt look on Robin’s face.
Robin’s mouth snapped closed, face going blank. “Right, sorry, I shouldn’t have bothered you,” she said. “I’ll just, I can go.”
Just before she was about to leave, something stopped her. She looked down, seeing Nancy’s hands wrapped around her wrist.
“No, don’t,” Nancy said. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have snapped at you. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Robin closed the cabin door, making sure to lock it, and let Nancy lead her to her bed.
Nancy took the medical supplies from her, setting them on the nightstand next to her guns.
“I shouldn’t have yelled at you,” she said as she wiped her hands off with a clean rag. “I’m just stressed, and I took it out on you. I’m sorry.”
Robin’s eyes stared up at her, something in them she couldn’t read, and she nodded.
“It’s ok, Nance,” she said softly. “I understand.”
God, how was she so good?
“Take your shirt off,” Nancy said, and Robin blushed from the tips of her ears all the way down her neck.
“What?” She squeaked, and Nancy shook her head.
“You brought actual medical supplies,” she said, gesturing to the pile of stuff. “I don’t want your side getting infected.”
Robin seemed to relax at that, the blush still making her ears turn an adorable red, but she stopped looking like Nancy had just said she was going to jump her.
She was still wearing the filthy, torn shirt from their escape in the woods, the blood now dried to a dark brown color. As she was lifting her arms, a soft gasp escaped her lips, face twisting in pain.
Nancy stepped closer without even thinking about it. “Here,” she said, taking the fabric from Robin’s fingers. “Let me.”
Robin just nodded, allowing Nancy to pull the shirt off, leaving her in her spots bra. the scraps of Nancy’s shirt holding the towel to her stomach were filthy, both from dirt and blood.
“Hold still,” she said, untying them. Robin’s breath hissed out when she undid them and pulled the towel away, eyes snapping shut from the pain. “Sorry.”
“Is all good,” she mumbled out. “At least I’m not dead.”
Nancy smiled. “True,” she said. “I’m glad you’re alive.”
She cleaned the stab wound quickly, smearing antibacterial cream onto it before covering it with a thick gauze pad and wrapping it. She tied the bandages off, tucking the ends under the other layers.
When she was almost done, just tucking in the tail ends, her eyes traced over Robin’s bare shoulders and back. Her face went red, but she couldn’t look away.
Her freckles continued down her back, scattered everywhere Nancy could see. She was surprisingly muscled for her build, each breath Robin took making Nancy lose hers.
“Nance?” Robin asked, and she shook herself, blushing harder. “Everything ok?”
“Yeah, all good,” Nancy said, hopping off the bed to throw away the bloody fabric and towel.
When she came back, she genuinely thought she was going to die.
Robin had pulled her bra and pants off, her completely naked back on full display. Her eyes raked over every inch of skin, mouth hanging open.
She was wearing boxers, worn out enough that the elastic was loose around her hips, low enough to make Nancy combust.
Her suitcase was open on her bed, and she pulled out a gigantic tee, pulling it over her head.
When she turned around, Nancy ducked behind the doorframe, somehow blushing even harder.
The sound of someone flopping onto a bed came, and she peeked out to see Robin face-down in her bed.
“Rob?” She asked, and the other girl shushed her.
“Too tired,” she mumbled, burying her face in Nancy’s pillow. “Sleeping.”
“You’re in my bed,” she reminded her.
“Not gonna bite,” Robin said, and Nancy’s eyes widened. “C’mon.”
She pulled the covers back, just enough for them both to get under, and crawled into bed next to her. Robin huffed, a strand of hair falling down on her nose. Nancy tucked it behind her ear, and the other girl’s eyes cracked open.
“Night, Nance,” she said, after a few seconds of staring. Her eyes closed, and she sighed into the pillow.
Nancy’s throat closed up. “Night, Rob.”

Chestnut covered his mouth, trying to quiet his heavy, painful breath. the teen couldn’t run for much longer, his lungs burned, and his legs felt like jelly.
“F-fuck-”
Chestnut mumbled, looking around, desperate for a way out. his eyes lit up when he spied the slope down into the snowy forest. Kuri carefully edged down the slope and into the woods, trying to be careful with his footing, but also trying to avoid staying in one place for too long.
Chestnut squeaked when he lost his footing and tumbled down into the snow, an intense pain shooting up his leg, one he assumed was caused by him tripping on a rock and spraining his ankle or something, until he looked down and saw the metal clamped around his leg, the sharp teeth of it sunk into his flesh and causing him to bleed.
“A-a-a...” Chestnut started to mumble, shaking as he watched his blood beginning to properly stain the snow around him. “A beartrap?” Kuri reached his glove covered hands down towards the thing around his leg, trying to pry it off with numb fingers, tears trailing down the teen’s face as he wrenched at the trap.
“Oh, my dear! look what we have here!”
Chestnut froze, looking up at the couple suddenly towering over him, smiles plastered on both of their faces.
“I say! quite a scrawny one this time, my dearest Magnolia!”
The man said, delight lacing his voice. “Oh, my darling Alastor! I told you not many would be through at this time of year!” the woman giggled, leaning further into who Kuri assumed was her husband.
“Um...excuse me?” Chestnut piped up, interrupting the couple, who were laughing amongst themselves, but they stopped suddenly when he spoke. “c-can one of you help me out here?”
“Oh, don’t you worry,” the man said, his eerie smile growing. “we’ll help you.”

@augustwritingchallenge Day 16: Psychological Horror (Mama)
Robin had met the craziest woman in the form of Zelena Mills. She was ruthless and out of her mind. But he loved her, no matter how much he wanted her out of his life forever. When she took their children, though, he thought he would never recover. That’s when he met Zelena’s gentle yet closed off sister, Regina, who was willing to help him look.
Regina had isolated herself from everyone except her father and friend/unintentional co-parent, Emma Swan. After meeting her brokenhearted future in-law Robin, though, that all changed. Despite their best attempts to keep the relationship platonic, Robin made her feel more alive than she had felt in years, and finally Regina gave into her wants and started a relationship with him.
When Roland and the unnamed baby are found in the woods five years later, Robin makes it his mission to help them back into society. While Regina is nervous given how her parenting with Henry had nearly fallen apart when his birth mother came back, she quickly warms up to her new kids. Unfortunately, though, a dark shadow from around the corner doesn’t like that...
