Killian smiled as he looked down at his hand, flexing the fingers back and forth. The price he'd paid for its restoration seemed nothing, just a touch of blackmail, and in return, now he could hold Emma with both of his hands. After all, she deserved more than the embrace of a cold metal hook- she deserved to be held with two hands, if that's what she wanted- or maybe even more. The bell over the door to Granny's rang as Belle entered the diner, and Killian waved at her with his restored hand. "Killian?" Belle asked, wrinkling her nose at Killian's hand. "How did you...?" Killian tried his best to give the side of the story that didn't involve Rumplestiltskin being a liar and that didn't mention blackmail and deception. "You don't recognize your husband's handiwork?" Killian smiled. "The Crocodile was kind enough to return it this morning." "Rumple did that?" Belle asked. "Why? I mean, what price did you have to pay?" "He did it for you," Killian half lied with a smile. "He wants to be a better man for you." Belle smiled and fidgeted with her jacket. "He's already a better man for me." Killian looked away for a moment. "What made you ask for the hand back anyways?" Belle asked. "Well, if you must know," Killian tried to smile with a calculated confidence on the outside and not the uncontainable excitement he felt inside, "Emma has asked me to take her out tonight, and I intend to make it an evening to remember." "That's so sweet." Belle said, then she laughed a little as she added. "And you're going dressed like that?" "Of course not!" Killian responded, offended, "I intend to change this vest for my more formal one." "Ah." Belle nodded. "That's exactly what I thought." "What?" She rolled her eyes. "I just. I heard about your time travel adventure. When you saw Emma dressed like they did back in our world, there was something special about that, wasn't there?" Killian smiled. "Aye. She'd never looked more lovely." "Don't you want to give her the same experience?" Killian blinked away the shock. He hadn't thought about that. Emma had stepped into his world, but she'd never seen him step into hers. "Do you know where the nearest clothing store is?" Killian asked. "You mean the only one in Storybrooke?" Belle asked. "I know exactly where it is. Let's go." "Let's?" Killian asked. "I think I'm quite capable of purchasing clothes on my own." "Yes, because knee length leather jackets and more buttons than a one handed man can ever button are certainly in season right now." Belle smiled. "And maybe on the way back you can pick up a feathered hat and a peg leg." Killian rolled his eyes. He would need help to know how to fit in without sacrificing his own sense of style. "And what price do your services require, Mrs. Crocodile?" "The 'Crocodile,'" Belle said, "runs things his way. But I do things mine. Magic may come with a price, but friendship doesn't. Now come on then." And with that, they set out on their journey.
