Zuberi combines physical might with a gentle spirit, his robust frame concealing a guardian's heart. He excels in foraging and identifying plants, and though he is not much of a talker, Zuberi shares his wisdom through gestures and actions.
Likes: the crunching sounds of chewing, misty mornings
Dislikes: confrontation, being alone

This is one in a series of portraits featuring different hominids under an intimate and humanizing light. Take these reconstructions with a grain of salt, but ask yourself: how similar to ourselves could our cousins have been?
Overlooked since the 1950s, a new study of a bone fragment offers a surprise. It was decoratively carved by a Neanderthal, offering a unique insight into how our close relatives thought 100,000 years ago.
Meet Homo floridensis, or “Florida Man”, a hominin species which roamed Florida around a million years ago, early in the Pleistocene epoch. Or would have, were it a real hominin and not something I made up.
Seriously, the infamous phrase “Florida Man” sounds like the nickname of a fake or misidentified hominin specimen which creationists would appropriate to discredit the entire field of paleoanthropology and the theory of evolution.
I don’t think we give enough thought about just how brief our place as apex predators has been compared to millions of years our ancestors spent as humble foragers and regular prey.
Made a second pass at my scientifically plausible mermaid and actually put some effort into it.
My thought process:
If a hominid species ever became aquatic, there's no way it would lose it's legs and evolve a tail. Instead they would likely evolve similar to a pinniped (which I used as my primary reference).
Dark skinned because A) most hominids look/looked that way and B) makes the most sense for a marine mammal. Eyes are blue to take in more light in the dark.
Get's to keep the hands because tool use doesn't seem like something that would be given up easily.
Still has an overall transitional look so it still looks like a traditional mermaid; breast tissue is still present, upper torso is still mostly human shaped and not super hydrodynamic compared to other marine mammals, and head hair is still present (though the eyebrow hair has been replaced with light colored markings) inspired by Thought Potato's explanation of hair retention in his mermaid video.
TRANS GRUG
a lil sketch to stretch my art muscles :) featuring some ancient transmasc human. no specific species in mind, vaguely based on homo habilis
Hello hi! And welcome to my…. blog?? E-diary? Repostatory?? not really sure what it’s meant to become yet 🤔 but regardless, Welcome & hopefully you’ll enjoy some of the stuff you’ll find here!! 😄
A few basic things about me; I’m currently in Uni & hold a job, both of which i’m more comfortable elaborating upon in DM’s 😅; I’m an indigenous Russian, I’m an infp, a 9w1, a Pisces, currently in my late 20s & I’m Questioning/Pansexual :D!! Nothing too serious or fancy but I’m always open to questions. 😁
I’ll almost exclusively be re/posting stuff that I’m interested in OR simply find cool❗️😁 Generally things like Star Wars, JJBA, Black Clover, Avatar TLA; video game things like a few of the Assassins Creed games (mostly Odyssey, Origins, and Unity mostly), Crusader Kings 2/3, EU4; nerdy things like History, linguistics, culinary, art or photography, whether it be my own or someone else’s, i’ll always differentiate!! I’ll also be dumping random thoughts or just stuff that’s on my mind here so it can differ by allot 😅!!
A few rules?? guidelines? idk, I’m not too picky but some stuff I feel is important to mention!!
• I do accept DM’s for almost anything !! idle chat, discussing history or general nerd things, becoming friends, etc. but PLEASE be respectful & understand that i’m also a human being & get busy with life, work, school, & such. I also ask that you have some sort of pfp because unless you do, I won’t be replying 😅 (ie blank pfps or profiles in general)
• DO NOT send unsolicited images of ANY kind, you’ll be blocked immediately! 🤩
• Just because I may post, like, or talk about NSFW topics DOES NOT mean I’m interested in you that way, please respect that or you will be blocked.
• ABSOLUTELY N O O N E under 18, if you’re a minor, LEAVE & DO NOT INTERACT with ANY of my posts‼️
Already revisited because the top part didn't feel quite right to me and I wanted it to be a continued web of synapses, and add the glowing nerves which also resemble mycelium, all merged as one ❤️ :D
A study of Lucy, our ancient hominid ancestor, has shattered preconceptions! New 3D muscle reconstruction reveals she walked upright and flexed impressive strength. This groundbreaking study could revolutionize our understanding of human movement evolution.
This female Homo bodoensis, who represents the hominin species hypothesized to be the immediate ancestors of modern Homo sapiens, is throwing a spear while charging at her prey. Both the spear’s stone point and the knife she has strapped to her left thigh would have been fashioned using the Levallois knapping technique which was characteristic of tools made during the Middle Paleolithic (or Middle Stone Age) circa 300,000 years ago.
SCP mythos: Timeline of Hominid Civilizations on Earth
I made, or I guess am continuing to make, an attempt to chart out the history of hominid (human and human-adjacent) civilizations from the SCP mythos. Obviously it's a bit janky due to there being no single canon, but it's fun to try.
