I took in my friend’s grandma’s cat yesterday. I’m not going to share too much because I want to respect my friend and their family’s privacy. But I will say that the living conditions were less than ideal for the last year and a half. Definitely stressful and not the healthiest situation for the old lady .
She came with me to the clinic today so we could get all her matting brushed out and also get a bunch of bloodwork and a urinalysis done.
Her name is Lucy and she’s 17 years old. Eyes are very dry, likely have been for a long time. Otherwise her bloodwork was pretty unremarkable for a 17 year old. Her urine did show that she has either a bladder or kidney infection.
Her personality is currently a little… lacking… from the stress. I like my fingers so I’m going to hold off on any eye ointments until she settles in. And she’s going to get a sedative mixed into some wet food everyday until she’s feeling better about living here.
