Zevran does not know where he is. It happens so quickly, in a span of a blink, the now familiar streets of one city morphing into the strange, huddled streets of another. For a moment he fears he has lost his mind and not just his vision. Thankfully, neither seems to be the case.

It takes some creative digging to finally put a name to this new place: Kirkwall. He has never personally set foot in the city before, but he knows the Free Marches. This is Thedas. He's home.

Well, not home, exactly; Antiva is a few days' trip away, at least. But it isn't Spirale. The thought is oddly bittersweet.

He does not dwell on it for too long before another thought is popping into his head, completely unbidden. Had Anders made it back, too? The mage had wanted to return to this very place with such fervor it bordered on madness. It would be horribly ironic for Zevran to wind up here only for Anders to be left behind. Ironic in a way that does not sit well with him.

He has to ask for directions to find the clinic. The woman he asks is reluctant to tell him anything, at first, but he assumes the most disarming yet firmly insistent manner he can muster until she finally relents. When he sees the lantern the mage had mentioned, he knows he has found it.

The relief he feels when he sees the familiar face among his patients should be very concerning, if he were not currently too thrilled with all of these new events to care.

"There you are! Happy to finally be home?"
