Dreamers | Sebastian Sallow x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 4.6k
Warnings: Spoilers for Hogwarts Legacy, domestic abuse
A/N - Post Hogwarts angst and a bit of fluff at the end, inspired by this ask, a bit different than the original request but I hope you enjoy anyway anon! Also turned out a lot shorter than I wanted because it was pretty difficult to write.
“Did you hear me?” You asked.
Leander was flipping through a book. He was sitting on the grand red sofa that sat in the middle of the main room of his house. His family’s connections to the Ministry got him a fancy Ministry job after you graduated and he was able to buy a nice house and fill it will all the fancy stuff he wanted. You weren’t as into the exorbitant materialism but you appreciated that he handled most of the finances. He made it clear that you were not allowed to get a job, he was the provider, you were the trophy girlfriend. The Hero of Hogwarts.
“No,” Leander replied.
“I’m meeting Natty in Hogsmeade tonight,” you repeated yourself.
“No you’re not,” Leander closed the book sharply, “I told you I don’t want to go out tonight.”
“You can stay home,” you responded quietly, silently hoping he would agree so you could get a night off.
“And let you go to Hogsmeade alone?”
“I won’t be alone,” you sighed, “I’m meeting Natty.”
“Anyone else?”
You thought about the letters from Sebastian and Ominis that were hidden in your dresser, protected by a few unnoticeable charms, “Nope, just Natty.”
“Fine, but only because I trust Natsai.”
You silently thanked Merlin for Gryffindor comradery continuing to hold strong even after you left Hogwarts. You smiled and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before heading to the fireplace to use the Floo Network to travel to Hogsmeade. London was a bit too far from Hogsmeade to fly there and you never bothered to get your apparition license. You waved to Leander, who looked annoyed but waved back. You tried not to let his sour mood ruin your excitement. The flash of green made you feel a bit sick to your stomach as you stepped into Hogsmeade Square. You were immediately hit with the smell of chocolate and toffee wafting from Honeydukes. You remembered the time you snuck into the basement to steal Billywig Stings for Garreth and smiled to yourself.
The village was full of young witches and wizards rushing about to get their school supplies before the new school year began. There were only a few more days before Hogwarts would open its doors and a new class of eager witches and wizards would begin their magical education. Only two years prior, you and your classmates had graduated and joined the rest of the adult wizarding world. Your relationship with Leander was still somewhat new then, you had only started dating him a few months before graduation but once the pressure of the real world hit you, you realized that you were going to need someone to support you until you found a job of your own. Merlin knew your family was no help, the shock of you being a witch was still too much for them to handle. So, one thing led to another and you ended up living with Leander.
“Y/N!”
You would recognize that bright voice anywhere, Natty was rushing over to you. You had seen her just a week prior, her and her girlfriend, Morgan, had visited you and Leander in London, but she still looked absolutely ecstatic to see you. You had kept in touch with all of your old friends from Hogwarts, whether Leander knew about it or not. Morgan was taller than Natty by a few inches with stick straight strawberry blonde hair that was a sharp contrast to Natty’s curly black hair. Morgan had graduated from Beauxbatons a year before you and Natty graduated from Hogwarts, and the two had met doing auror work in America. Now, they had moved back to Scotland to be closer to home, or at least, closer to Morgan’s home.
“Hello Natty,” you smiled and hugged her tightly, “Hello Morgan.”
The taller woman gave you two short kisses on the cheek but couldn’t get a word in before Natty continued to speak, “The boys are already at The Three Broomsticks, we should hurry. You know how Sebastian gets when you keep him waiting.”
You agreed, Sebastian had a habit of whining if you left him on his own for too long. Still better than when Leander would scream at you for leaving him alone for too long. The three of you began walking down the familiar cobblestone streets. Morgan told you about a poacher camp they had found in Norway, apparently it was one of the largest they’d found in recent years, it was becoming a real problem there. You wished you could join her and Natty on their adventures, but it was hard enough to convince Leander to let you go to Hogsmeade, let alone Norway. As you got close to The Three Broomsticks the smell of chocolate faded in favor of the warm, comforting smell of butterbeer. You took a deep breath as you reminisced on all the memories of coming to Hogsmeade as a student.
Natty held the door open for you and Morgan and before you got two steps in the door, Sirona was in front of you, holding out a mug of butterbeer which you grabbed without thinking, “On the house.”
“Sirona, I can’t accept that,” you began to rifle through your pockets to find money for her but the innkeeper shook her head.
“Too late,” Sirona laughed as she walked back to her usual spot behind the counter, “It’s already in your hand, dear.”
You scowled at her, but the argument was cut off by a shout from the back of the room. You turned to see Sebastian standing at one of the larger tables. Ominis was on his left, and he had saved you a seat on the right. Next to Ominis was Poppy, and next to her was Garrett. You realized sadly that Amit was not there, and Imelda was also missing. The latter did not surprise you, that girl had barely taken a day off since she started playing professional quidditch. She had sent you a few tickets but Leander never wanted to go to the games. You, Natty, and Morgan all made your way to the table. When you got closer, Sebastian grabbed you in a bear hug, lifting you slightly off the floor.
“I’ve missed you,” he laughed as he set you back down. The two of you had seen each other just a month before, he had asked you for help on an auror assignment, but you had to turn him down due to Leander not wanting you to be put in any danger.
“I’ve missed you too,” you sat down at the empty seat next to him, admiring the way the light from the fireplace brought out the subtle auburn highlights of his hair, “I missed you too, Ominis, and Poppy, I haven’t seen you in months, how are you?”
Poppy told you all about the recent dragon rescue she had helped Natty and Morgan with in Norway, a detail Morgan seemed to have left out of the story. You listened, somewhat sad that you hadn’t been able to be there. However, it was still nice to hear the retelling of the story from your old friend. As she finished her story the table grew quiet for a moment before Ominis turned to you.
“How are you, Y/N?”
There was a weird tension at the table, and you felt it, “I’m doing great!”
It wasn’t necessarily a lie. You and Leander had been doing better for the most part. As you adjusted to living together, it became easier to avoid any potential triggers and keep the peace between the two of you. While he wasn’t allowing you to get a full time job, keeping the relationship together did seem to have become a full time job. You spent most of your day avoiding him, and preventing any potential arguments. It had become the new normal, but you were still dependent on Leander for most things.
“How is Leander?” Sebastian asked, although his disdain for the man was not well-hidden, if he was even trying to hide it.
“He’s good,” you took a sip of your butterbeer, “He works a lot, his job is very important.”
“Right,” Sebastian stared into your eyes and it sent a shiver down your spine, “We need to talk to you about something.”
“All of you?”
While you had all kept in touch it seemed more than a little suspicious that they had all come together to talk to you about something. The tension at the table was palpable. There was a part of you that wanted to just run out of The Three Broomsticks and go home, but you stayed frozen in place. You wondered what they needed to talk about and why they were being so secretive.
“It’s about Leander,” Sebastian started, but Natty cut him off. She realized that his blunt personality would not necessarily be an asset in that moment.
“We just have some concerns about him,” Natty finished Sebastian’s sentence for him.
“What do you mean?”
“Y/N,” Natty sighed and took your hand, “We barely see you anymore, and if we do get a response to our owls it sometimes takes days, weeks. I mean, Ominis sent you an owl two months ago and you never answered.”
“I’m busy, Natty,” you suddenly felt very defensive and you pulled your hand away from hers, “I’m sorry my schedule isn’t as free as the rest of you, or that I don’t live in the area anymore but that has nothing to do with Leander.”
“You can travel by Floo Powder,” Poppy pointed out, earning herself a glare from you that made her drop her eyes to her feet. You felt guilty but were still in shock about what they were implying.
“Well,” you paused, realizing Poppy was right and that travel wasn’t exactly a perfect excuse for your absence over the past two years.
“It’s only gotten worse,” Natty sighed, “Over the last two years.”
“I’ve been busy,” you repeated yourself, not caring if you sounded like a broken record.
“You don’t work,” Sebastian finally spoke up again and the tension at the table got even worse. Everyone knew that if you and Sebastian really got into it, it could cause serious damage to not only your relationship, but Sirona’s establishment.
“You don’t know my life, Seb,” you glared at him, as if daring him to keep talking.
He ignored your warning look, “I think I know your life better than you do, I’m not blinded with love for Leander fucking Prewett.”
“Sebastian!” Ominis kicked him under the table but you all heard the thump of Ominis’ foot hitting Sebastian’s shin.
“What?” Sebastian shot him a look that Ominis couldn’t see, but he knew was there, “I’m right.”
“Sebastian,” this time it was Poppy that spoke up, “Maybe you should take a walk.”
“No,” Sebastian slammed his fist down on the table. The chatter in the bar got quiet as people began to notice the growing situation at your table.
“You have no idea what you’re talking about,” you felt angry tears forming in your eyes, “Is this seriously why you all asked me here? You didn’t want to just have a drink and catch up? You wanted to trap me so you could interrogate me about my boyfriend?”
“Y/N,” Natty reached for your hand again but you pulled away, “It’s not like that, we’re just worried. We want you to know that we’re here for you.”
“I don’t need you to be here for me, Natty!” You felt the rage boiling in you and you felt the rest of the bar fade into the distance, your focus now was on the people at that table, specifically Sebastian.
Sebastian Sallow had grown up a lot since fifth year. He was taller, his hair was longer, and his chin was covered in stubble. However, the same freckles dotted his face, and his eyes were the same dark brown that prevented you from really being able to read his expression at the moment. You stared daggers into them, wondering if you could cast avada kedavra just by thinking it. You felt so stupid, thinking your friends just wanted to see you and tell you about their lives, but clearly they had other motives. Of course, you couldn’t help but see their side and a small part of you did wonder if they were right.
“Fine,” Sebastian stood up, almost knocking over his butterbeer, “Then we’re leaving, right?”
The others didn’t move, instead you stood up, “Not like you to run from a fight, Sallow.”
“This wasn’t supposed to be a fight,” he huffed and pushed some of his dark hair out of his face, “We’re here to help you, but we can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves.”
“I don’t need help,” a few tears slid down your cheek and you saw Sebastian’s eyes dart to them. His expression softened a little, saddened to see you so emotional, “I have all the help I need, at home.”
With that, you left the table where your friends were sitting and barged out of The Three Broomsticks, not even stopping to thank Sirona for the drink. Who were they to judge your relationship? None of them had been in a serious relationship besides Natty. Sebastian was a serial player, leading girls on and then leaving them high and dry. Ominis seemed too preoccupied in his research into whatever to care about girls. You didn’t even know what Poppy’s relationship history looked like but you knew that any relationship she did get into didn’t seem to last very long. You continued marching to the Floo Flames in Hogsmeade Square when you heard a voice behind you, and it was not the one you expected.
“Y/N, hang on,” it was Morgan, Natty’s girlfriend.
“What?” You only turned around because it was her, and you knew she would not have been the one to plan this, she didn’t know you well enough to be the mastermind behind the intervention. You realized, of course, that was why they sent her but you stopped to hear her out anyway.
“I know it seemed harsh in there,” Morgan stopped a few feet away from you, and even in the low evening light, you could see the genuine concern on her face, “But they only did it because they all love you so much, and they want to make sure that you are safe and happy.”
“I am safe and happy,” you sighed, “We haven’t known each other very long, but you should know that this is me when I am safe and happy. So you can go back in there and tell them that I am fine and if they would like to apologize they can write me a letter.”
You turned away again, leaving Morgan standing awkwardly in the road. As you continued towards the Floo Flames you wanted to cry again, but knew that if you went home crying, Leander would know that something was up. You took a deep breath to calm your nerves before stepping into the flames and appearing back in Leander’s living room. He was no longer on the couch, you assumed he was in the bedroom. It wasn’t that late but he had a tendency to go to bed early. You wandered through the hallway of the house to the bedroom. The door was closed and you couldn’t hear anything coming from inside the room.
“Leander?” You knocked before you walked into the room.
He was laying on the bed, still reading his book. He closed it and looked up at you, his eyes were dark. You felt your stomach drop, something was obviously wrong. He set the book down and got up off the bed.
“How was Hogsmeade?” His voice was very monotone, he was clearly upset.
“It was good,” you tried to think of a convincing lie about what had happened, “Natty and Morgan adopted a cat!”
“Did they?” Leander clearly wasn’t buying it, “And what about Sebastian and Ominis?”
“What?” You felt like you were about to throw up, how could he know that they were there?
“I know you weren’t only meeting Natsai,” Leander took a few steps closer to you and quickly smacked the back of his hand across your cheek, “Why would you lie to me?”
Tears welled up in your eyes, “Leander, it’s not what you think.”
“It is exactly what I think,” he tilted your chin up so you were meeting his eye contact, “You lied to me, Y/N.”
“I knew you wouldn’t like it,” you flinched as he pulled his hand away from your face, “I just wanted to see my friends.”
“Are you cheating on me?”
“Of course not, Leander,” it wasn’t a lie, while you did have feelings for Sebastian, you knew the feelings were not mutual.
He grabbed your wrists tightly, pulling you within a few inches of his face, “You’re just lying to me and seeing men behind my back.”
“My friends,” you sobbed, “I was just seeing my friends.”
“I forbid you from seeing Sebastian Sallow or Ominis Gaunt ever again,” Leander sighed and released your hands, “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“I know,” you cried, your whole body was shaking with fear, “I’m sorry.”
“You can sleep on the couch tonight,” Leander pushed you back out of the bedroom and slammed the door in your face.
You stood in the hallway, shaking as tears ran down your face. You didn’t want to move, afraid that any noise would trigger Leander to come back out. You just stood there, sobbing. There were marks on your wrist from where Leander had grabbed you. You stared at the bruises and wanted to scream, how had everything gone so wrong? You silently walked to the living room and collapsed onto the couch.
A few hours passed, and sleep seemed completely out of your reach. You sat there, watching the fire burn in the fireplace, appreciating the warmth. You wrapped a thin blanket around your shoulders, wishing there was someone there to hold you instead. You remembered nights you spent with Sebastian in the Undercroft, nothing romantic ever happened, but he had always been there to comfort you. As if on cue, there was a quiet knock at the door. You sat frozen for a moment, not sure if you wanted to answer it or not. It was late, but you weren’t sure why someone would be knocking on your door at that hour if it wasn’t serious. You walked to the door and casted a quick charm to make the door appear translucent to you, but not to whoever was outside. Your breath caught in your chest when you saw Sebastian standing there.
You threw the door open, “Sebastian?”
“Thank god,” Sebastian immediately wrapped his arms around you, “I was worried that Prewett was going to answer the door.”
“What are you doing here?” You pulled away from him, your brain was in overdrive.
“I’m getting you out of here,” Sebastian said bluntly.
“What?”
“I can’t let you stay here,” Sebastian put his hands on your cheeks and looked deeply into your eyes, “I know who he is, and I can’t let you stay with him any longer.”
Any other night you would have told Sebastian to go away, leave you there with Leander, but tonight was different. You stared into his dark eyes and realized this may be your one chance to get away. You lifted your hands so you were holding his wrists and nodded, accepting his help. He beamed at you, ecstatic that you had agreed to go with him. He knew that he was getting you out with or without your acceptance, but it made it that much easier that you weren’t going to argue with him.
He pulled his hands away from your face but as he did he noticed the bruising on your wrists, his face flushed with anger, “Did he do this?”
You pulled your hands away, “Sebastian, it’s not what you think. I lied to him about what I was doing tonight, he was just upset.”
Sebastian barely heard you, he was blind with anger. He pushed past you, but he wasn’t sure where the bedroom was so instead of going to seek out Leander, he yelled, “Prewett! Get out here you fucking coward!”
“Sebastian!” You grabbed his arm, “What are you doing? If we go now he won’t even know you were here, we can get away without any confrontation!”
“Too late for that,” Sebastian looked down at your wrists, “He started this, he should finish it.”
You heard the bedroom door open down the hall and Leander walked out. He was still wearing his pajamas and was clearly fast asleep when Sebastian woke him up. He gripped his wand tightly in his hand, and as soon as he saw Sebastian standing there he raised the wand up, prepared to defend himself. Sebastian was intimidating, but even more so when he was clearly enraged like he was then.
“Sallow?” Leander spat, “What are you doing here?”
“Well I was going to take your girlfriend and free her from this prison you’ve created for her,” Sebastian took a breath, “But now I think I’m going to finish that duel that Professor Hecat broke up all those years ago.”
You remembered the day you walked into Defense Against the Dark Arts as Sebastian almost crushed Leander under Professor Hecat’s Hebridean Black skull. Leander casted expelliarmus but Sebastian blocked it without even flinching. You ran to the couch where your own wand was still sitting on the side table. You were prepared to help Sebastian but as the duel continued you realized he did not need your help. Sebastian had always been stronger than Leander, that was nothing new. However, over the last two years Sebastian had much more practice dueling than Leander did. It wasn’t a particularly long or exciting duel, Sebastian beat him easily.
“Get the fuck out of my house!” Leander screamed as he collapsed to the floor, knocked backwards by a simple depulso from Sebastian.
“Happily,” Sebastian laughed but he took a few steps closer to Leander and knelt down so he could speak directly to his face, “But if you ever so much as look at her again, I will fucking kill you.”
Without another word Sebastian stood up and walked over to you. Your things were still in the bedroom but at that moment you would rather burn it all down than go to get the clothes that Leander had bought for you. You simply grabbed your cloak off a hook by the door and followed Sebastian out the front door. The cold London air made you shiver, even with the cloak. Sebastian noticed this and silently wrapped his arm around your shoulders, holding you tightly as you walked.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
There were tears in your eyes, “Not really.”
Sebastian stopped and grabbed your shoulders so you were facing him, “It’s going to be okay. You’re safe now.”
“Where am I going to go, Sebastian?” Your voice caught in your throat as you began to cry again, you hadn’t cried this much in years.
“You’ll stay with me,” Sebastian said simply. You blushed at the thought of sharing a bed with Sebastian but knew that wasn’t what he meant.
“I can’t ask that of you,” you said quietly, looking down at your feet.
Sebastian put his hand on your chin, a movement that was eerily similar to what Leander had done just hours before, but this time it was not scary at all, “You’re not asking. Now, hang on.”
Sebastian apparated the two of you back to his home, a small cottage on the outskirts of Hogsmeade. You tried not to vomit, it had been a while since you had apparated anywhere. Sebastian opened the front door and motioned for you to go inside first. You complied and were met by the smell of pumpkin soup that he must have made hours earlier and smoke from the fireplace. It was a mess, compared to Leander’s house, and it was significantly smaller but you hadn’t felt so comfortable in a long time. It felt like home, and you had never even been there. As you turned to look at Sebastian you realized the feeling of being at home did not come from the cottage, it came from him. He was home.
“Are you okay?” Sebastian noticed the tears in your eyes again.
“You’re asking me that a lot tonight,” you laughed and walked over to hug him, “I’m better.”
“Good,” Sebastian held tightly and put one hand on your head, playing with your hair.
“Thank you,” you cried into his chest.
“Darling,” Sebastian pulled away so he could look into your eyes, “I’m just sorry it took me so long.”
You shook your head, it didn’t matter now. Nothing mattered because you were safe again. You looked around the cottage, noticing even more details. Old Slytherin quidditch memorabilia was hanging on the walls, books that Sebastian had borrowed from the Restricted Section filled the shelves. It was so perfectly him.
“I’ll sleep on the couch,” Sebastian said, “You can take the bedroom.”
“No,” you laughed, “You’ve already done so much, I can’t take your bed too.”
“We could share,” Sebastian laughed.
You blushed violently at the suggestion, “Very funny.”
“I’m not joking,” Sebastian smirked at you, a subtle blush covering his cheeks.
Your stomach flipped, “What?”
“Unless you want me to be,” Sebastian laughed awkwardly.
The room was silent, and not a comfortable silence, the tension in the air could be cut with a knife. You had feelings for Sebastian, and had for a long time but he had never given any indication that he returned the feelings. In fact, if anything, he usually treated you more like a sister than anything else. Now, here he was, a grown man, fumbling over his words and blushing like a nervous teenager.
“I,” you paused, you were just as nervous, “I don’t want you to be joking.”
“You don’t?” Sebastian’s face lit up and suddenly he was that 16 year old that you had fallen for.
“No,” you took a deep breath, not wanting to screw up the moment, “I’m sorry.”
“I’m sorry,” Sebastian awkwardly rubbed his neck, “I know a lot just happened so I’m not trying to pressure you, but I just know that you always liked having someone to comfort you when things were tough.”
You smiled, “I did, and I do.”
“Well then,” Sebastian picked you up in a bridal carry and walked to the bedroom.
He set you on the bed and you quickly took off your robe. He collapsed in the bed next to you, opening his arms to invite you to cuddle up to him. You took the opportunity and placed your head on his chest, wrapping your arms around his waist. He put one arm around your shoulders and gently began to rub your arm with the other. You listened to him breathing, and soon, you fell into a dreamless sleep. It seemed that your brain didn’t feel the need to create dreams anymore.

1.500 follower celebration!!!
Okay so I reached this milestone weeks ago but completely missed doing anything fun for it. My poll for the 2k celebration chose blurb nights, but because 2 people were pretty excited about the matchup idea in my dm’s and I think it would be super fun to do, I decided to just do it now to celebrate 1.5 (better late than never).
So, here is how it’s going to work:
Send me an ask (on or off anon) with a description of yourself (include whatever you feel comfy with, as short or long as you’d like) and include what fandom or fandoms you would like a pairing for. You can also include a specific trope or scenario you want.
I’ll give you a character for each fandom you want and write some headcanons for you and that character, and if I have ideas I’ll include a moodboard and maybe a fitting song.
If you don’t want a pairing for yourself, you can also send in an ask for an oc of yours!
And please include if you want the pairing to be platonic or romantic (or one of each)
You can start sending in asks today and I will start working on them either tonight or tomorrow! I’m not sure if there’s going to be a lot of interest in this, so it might just be one night or it might spread out over the whole week. I’ll be doing everything that gets send in until April 12th!
Here are the fandoms you can choose from: Harry Potter (Golden Trio Era, Marauders Era, Hogwarts Legacy Era), Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Heroes of Olympus included), Top Gun Maverick, Teen Wolf, The Summer I Turned Pretty (series, not the books), Julie and the Phantoms, Baldur’s Gate 3 and Avatar the last airbender.
And again, a big kiss to everyone who follows me and keeps reading my silly little fics! I appreciate all of you and love you so much 💕😚
EDIT: I got a lot more of these than expected and I'm super excited to do them all, but I just wanted everyone to know it might take me a little bit to get to yours! Currently posted: 21/26

Ch. 1: "Journeys End in Lovers' Meeting" // Hogwarts: Legacy AU OC x OC
So, I may or may not have written this at 5 AM... LMAO. Thank you to @heyitszev (unreliablenarrator on AO3) for letting me borrow his OC, Charlie Cagney, from his series To be Loved is to be Changed (which you should check out right now!).
Note: Charlie is pre-transition in this chapter.
Damien is my OC from the Like Moths to a Flame series.
Without further ado... ENJOY!
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: "Journeys End in Lovers' Meeting"
Early December 1889
London
Damien never expected that by the end of an unusually warm winter day in December, he’d be engaged to be wed. And to a young lady, at that. Brilliant.
Well, to be fair, who else would he be engaged to? A young gentleman? No, that would never do. Not now, not ever. But it was one thing to know that he’d one day have to get married to a woman, and another thing entirely to be shackled to an actual one. It certainly wasn’t ideal.
Speaking of the aforementioned girl…
“I’d rather not be in this scenario either, you know,” she said. Charlene said. Damien should probably start getting used to referring to her by her name.
“Hmmm?” Damien replied, still deep in thought. He fiddled with his wristwatch. Charlene… something felt off about that name, but Damien couldn’t quite place his finger on it. He supposed the young woman standing before him didn’t look like a Charlene. On second thought, who did she look like?
“This engagement,” she spat out the last word like it made a particularly bad taste in her mouth, then flushed. “I’m sorry, that was rude of me.”
“No, no need to apologize,” Damien said with a smirk. “We’re on the same page.” He could appreciate Charlene’s bluntness, at the very least.
She breathed a sigh of relief. After an awkward pause in which a maid alighted at their table carrying a tea tray and setting all the various accouterments before them, Charlene changed the subject: “When did your father tell you about me?”
Damien took a sip of tea before replying. “Mere moments before we stepped out of the carriage.”
“Really?” Charlene asked, her eyes wide. Damien noticed for the first time that they were a rich brown, nearly his shade too, if not for the gold specks in his own eyes. She was also ignoring her tea entirely, which struck Damien as odd.
He nodded in response to her question.
“That is… deeply unfortunate.”
Damien held back a laugh. “How long have you known about me?”
“A few weeks. It seems as if our engagement is all my aunt can talk about.” Charlene tugged at her long, dark braid nervously. Damien could hear her feet shuffling under the table, even through the voluminous folds of her dress. She seemed uncomfortable. That made two of them.
“Oh?” He took another sip of his tea.
She coughed. “The size of your estate speaks for itself.”
Damien couldn’t help himself; he released a hearty laugh. “At least I can bring something to our eventual union.” Oh, he really shouldn’t have said that. Damien just barely managed to hold back a grimace.
“Whatever do you mean?”
“Nothing, nothing,” Damien responded, setting down his tea cup. He squinted out the window to his immediate left. The rays of sunlight coming through the partially open curtains were blinding. “Nice day we’re having, hmmm?”
Charlene narrowed her eyes. “You can’t just change the subject like that.” Oh, she was a perceptive one…
“I can and I will,” he said with as straight of a face as he could muster.
“Charming,” was all Charlene said in reply. She seemed decidedly unimpressed, but at least she didn’t pry further.
Their conversation stayed light and superficial for the remainder of tea. As the conversation plodded along in the dullest of manners, Damien stole a surreptitious glance at his father at the table across the room. He seemed to be enjoying his conversation with Charlene’s aunt. Lucky him.
“Am I boring you?” Charlene broke through his rumination.
Damien glanced up, caught off guard by the interruption. "Oh, no, not at all," he replied quickly, trying to regain his composure. "Just lost in thought, I suppose."
Charlene's expression softened slightly. She hummed, presumably in contemplation. Who knew though? Damien found her very difficult to read, which was unusual for him.
He offered her a sheepish smile. "My sincerest apologies. It’s been… a day.” He snuck a glance at his watch. “And it’s barely past two o’ clock.”
Charlene shook her head in mock dismay. "The trials and tribulations of the aristocracy."
Despite his better judgment, Damien found himself laughing. Again. Something about Charlene amused him. It was… pleasantly surprising?
Did he find her attractive? It seemed impossible - he had never found a girl pretty before - but there was something in her manner, the way she held herself, that he found captivating. He shook his head and was about to resume the conversation when his father cleared his throat from across the room.
“It is quite refreshing to see you two getting along so well,” Mr. Evans said as he stood up. “And so quickly too,” he added, amidst the sound of his chair scraping against the wood floor.
Charlene’s aunt followed his father’s lead, clapping her hands in an annoyingly gleeful manner. Out of the corner of his eye, Damien observed Charlene tilting her head ever so slightly to hide a grimace.
He tried to lock eyes with her in an unspoken moment of solidarity, but her gaze remained fixed on her lap. Her composure was, frankly, admirable. Not that Damien would ever say it to her face.
As the adults, presumably, prepared to say their farewells, Damien seized the opportunity to have one final conversation with Charlene, alone. "Speaking of getting along," he interjected, "I believe Charlene and I have some details to discuss regarding future arrangements. Privately,” he made sure to tack on at the end.
Charlene’s head shot back up, a curious glint in her eye.
Mr. Evans nodded in approval, completely oblivious to Damien’s deception. Nothing new there. "Excellent, excellent," he exclaimed. "It's wonderful to see such enthusiasm for the wedding."
Damien offered a tight smile. If only everyone in the room knew the truth behind the facade he had built around himself. As intrigued as he was by Charlene, as confused by what entranced him so, he knew that he could never love her. Not in the way that a normal man loved a woman. Would she mind? Would he ever deign to tell her?
Charlene’s eyes were still fixed on his face, searching. Something about the way she was looking at him was worrisome. Damien gulped. This girl was going to be a proverbial thorn in his side, wasn’t she?

Reactions to MC having a seizure (Hogwarts Legacy)
Return of the angst™
I promise I'm still reading all requests even though I'm not as quick to get to them what with writer's block kicking my ass lately (your love and appreciation really has me 🥺) Getting back to it slowly but surely!
Tumblr media
Poppy Sweeting 🦡
It happens as they’re going about their feeding rounds at the beasts’ pens. The Kneazles instantly sense something’s up, alerting Poppy as she turns around and sees MC thrashing around in a pile of hay.
She wastes no time whistling for Highwing and piling MC onto her back as soon as they’ve stopped shaking. She rides them right to the infirmary, potential detention be damned.
The story of Poppy galloping through the corridors on the back of a Hippogriff with the limp body of MC becomes sort of a tale of legend after that. MC asks her to recite the experience from start to beginning many times after. She’s always happy to indulge them, though she kindly asks them to never give her a fright like that ever again.
Ominis Gaunt 🐍
Having to navigate with limited senses can be frightening enough as is, so you might imagine the scare when he suddenly hears MC falling and starting to make weird noises as they’re walking through the corridor.
Once reality settles in, he has to fight back against the panic. His hand is shaking as he reaches out with his wand to sense their convulsing form, trying to make sense of what is happening to them.
His mind can’t help but instantly jump to the worst possible conclusion; they must have been hexed, or worse. He bites his lip to keep himself from screaming out to any unseen foes. Who would have done this?
Eventually MC recovers, but the memory of the sounds they were making keeps ringing through his head for days on end afterwards. He starts spending more time in their company, even if it’s simply shadowing them, just to make sure they are all right.
Natsai Onai 🦁
It’s all going so fast. One minute she’s simply talking to MC in class, the next they’re suddenly slurring their words and their eyes roll back into their skull as they slump over their desk.
Normally she doesn’t have any issue with managing her cool, but this she can’t bear. The way MC’s body convulses reminds her too much of her father’s last moments as he lay there, choking on his own blood before her eyes. She just freezes, not able to move until the nurse arrives to stabilize MC and take them to the infirmary.
She’ll feel guilty for days after, even as MC assures her that they don’t blame her for anything. Eventually she manages to make peace with it somewhat, but she notices she starts acting a lot more vigilant around MC, determined not to let them down a second time.
Sebastian Sallow 🐍
He reacts surprisingly calmly and collected when MC drops to the floor in the middle of a duel.
He’s been through many similar experiences with his sister, so he knows exactly what to do. He’ll make them comfortable on the ground and stays with them, holding their hand until they recover. It hurts to see the panic and confusion in their eyes, but he manages to maintain composure as he carefully explains what happened to them, multiple times if need be.
He’s quick to shut down any rumours that he went too hard on them during duelling or any other nonsense stories floating around. Also, he’s considerate enough to offer to escort them to classes the first few weeks after their incident, to make sure they’re all right.
Imelda Reyes 🐍
Initially she assumes MC has been hit by a Bludger, the way they suddenly fall off their broom and make a rather painful-looking landing on the ground. She gets ready to land and cuss them out, but then she notices the unnatural way they’re shaking, eyes looking eerily white.
It’s at moments like this that her brashness is a blessing in disguise. She has the field cleared quickly with just a few barks, giving her ample space to administer emergency treatment to MC.
They have to spend a couple of days in the infirmary on account of the injuries they suffered during their fall. She knows they will be all right in the end, but that doesn’t stop her from making some time in her schedule to visit them every evening.
She’ll deny said visits ever happening as soon as they’ve recovered though. They don’t have to expect that she’s gone soft on them all of a sudden. Also, she’s absolutely not blushing when they express their gratitude for taking care of them.
Amit Thakkar 🦅
He’s freaking out the moment MC collapses in the middle of a stargazing trip they were making.
Normally they’re the ones taking charge and saving him from all kinds of trouble, so he doesn’t really know what to do. After he spends a few seconds ripping his hair out, he slaps himself in the face and forces himself to get his shit together.
Thinking quickly, he eventually manages to figure out a way to stabilize MC and provide them both shelter using some crafty spellwork. As MC comes to, they look at him in disbelief and ask what happened.
Honestly, knowing that he single-handedly saved the Hero of Hogwarts comes with a major confidence boost.  He dares to be more assertive, even starting to take the lead in some of their ‘adventures’ together. (It also helps that MC doesn’t bother correcting them every time he recalls the story of how he saved them from a gigantic Acromantula)
Garreth Weasley 🦁
He’s busy cooking up another concoction during Potions when he suddenly hears a crash and shrieks of surprise. He turns around to see MC spasming on the ground, holding the remains of a broken purple bottle.
Professor Sharp temporarily left the classroom, so he doesn’t hesitate to jump into action and start pulling open cabinets to gather ingredients.
He quickly cooks up a special kind of brew and holds it in front of MC’s face. For a split second he fears he got the doses wrong, but then the convulsions start to abate and MC’s eyes return to normal, turning to look at him with surprise and confusion.
Initially Professor Sharp isn’t happy to learn that he took several rare ingredients without permission, but his demeanour eases somewhat when he learns about his actions, and he even ends up giving him a compliment for his resourcefulness. Truth be told, the look of gratitude on MC’s face when he tenderly bandages their injured hand makes everything more than worth it.

Lost Lover
Tumblr media
Any of ‘The Quarry’ Boys x Male Reader
A/N: This can be read with any of The Quarry boys, this is meant to be in Y/N’s POV but I guess the character of your choice also works. I’m not sure if this counts as angst, but I tried my best.
There are a lot of mentions of blood, death, gore and hallucinations. Please be wary and dont read this fic if the content is too harsh!
You couldn’t believe he was gone. It felt like just yesterday the cops were pulling you away from your lover’s deformed corpse. His blood staining your hands and clothes as all you could smell was what remained of him.
You still smelt it now, having spent so many hours in those crimson-filled clothes gave you enough time to commit it to memory. You often smelt it on nights like this.
Cold. Dark. Silent.
You feel the sticky blood crawl its way over your arms, it irks you how real it felt. Just like that night. Your eyes begin to fog, vision becoming indefinable as it grows dark, the blurred corpse of your former lover appearing. Your clothes feel tight, compressing your chest. It gets harder to breathe as the rotting smell fills your lungs. You gasp, voice hoarse as you try to regain composure.
The body beside you starts to become more visible, every gorey detail visible on his tormented face. Your heart aches as he lies there, lifeless. Your eyes swell with tears, the drops falling in abundance as you stare at him, unable to look away.
You watch as his eyes shoot open, your heart leaping out of your throat as he starts to stand, unbalanced and deformed. You can’t help but feel a little joyous, seeing him alive, as mangled as he may be.
Until the screaming starts.
A blood-curdling screech rips from his throat. Blood follows as it drips down his neck, the screams turning into loud gurgling as he starts to drown in his own blood. His scarred arm lifts, his torn-apart finger pointing right at you. The gurgling stops, a few strained coherent words falling from his tongue.
“This is all your fault-”
The sound of a door breaks you out of your trance.
“Y/N..” It’s a hushed voice, a familiar one. “Is it happening again?” You dig your head into your hands, wiping the tears flowing down your cheeks as you mutter. “Yeah.. yeah…” The bed dips as you feel the girl take a seat beside you, her hand rubbing against your arm as she whispers comforting words.
A/N: We’ve got a couple of our longest fics coming out soon (Hopefully this week) Including a Part 2 to the Hogwarts Legacy Yule Ball fic! All feedback is appreciated, I rarely write angst and I’m not all to good at it.

The Lost and Found part III
Tumblr media
*SPOILERS OF THE GAME HOGWARTS LEGACY AHEAD*
Characters: Dark!Sebastian; use of MC; GN!MC; Ominis Gaunt; eventual Ominis Gaunt x MC.
Summary: Based on this post by @avadakedavravravra. After Sebastian goes mad because MC and Ominis decided to turn him in during IN THE SHADOW OF FATE quest, imprisoning Ominis, he takes Ominis’s place with a Polyjuice potion. He convinces MC he’s the real Ominis and tells them Sebastian’s ran away. Upon noticing that not knowing where Anne is can be a problem to his plan, he tries to convince Ominis to tell him her location by using Ominis’s relationship with MC. He misunderstands his former friends’ intentions and further spiral out of control.
Warnings: violence; abuse (imprisonment, starvation); talks about death (Solomon); angst; impersonating; lying; gaslighting.
Word count: 3,8K+
A/N: I tried to put in bold every time we were talking about Sebastian’s “Ominis”, instead of the real one so it wouldn’t be so confusing. Also, it’s important to say that because of his captivity descriptions of Ominis can be triggering and upsetting, so if you’re bothered by this, please do NOT read this! Some of Sebastian’s thoughts can sound a bit contradicting or jumping into conclusions, but an enraged mind doesn’t think things through so he’s mostly assuming things without even confirming them and just spiraling. Not proofread. Comments are appreciated :)

The Lost and Found
Part I
Part II
–––––––––––––
The potion tasted of mint tea with a hefty amount of sugar. Not unpleasant until the last bit of its taste: a squeeze of bitter lemon juice. Sebastian shivered before observing his limbs change and his vision start to get blurrier and blurrier. He expected he’d take every single characteristic of his friend, including his lack of sight. But he wasn’t worried as the prior weeks he had memorized all the spells he had watched Ominis perform all these years beside him. His only concern was Ominis’s wand.
Almost like an extension of himself, Sebastian wondered if it would work as one for him. He had very little idea of how exactly Ominis’s sight worked, much less how it looked from the point of view of his wand. But it didn’t matter. It was simply a piece in his plan he’d have to overcome. He walked to where the mirror was in his room and stood in front of it wondering if he was facing the correct direction. Sebastian, now Ominis, slipped out of his robes and accioed his former friend’s robes he had separated. An ensemble that looked dirty and a little torn.
He dressed himself in Ominis’s robes and reached out for his wand – he had hidden his own somewhere safe. Tying the tie was the hardest task so far, he thought. But he’d never admit to himself that buttoning his shirt might’ve been worse. Not for the lack of sight, but the feeling of Ominis’s pronounced collarbones against his own fingertips and his now more defined ribs. The days he had kept Ominis in captivity had already started to show by the point he collected the hair strands, he brushed the thought of how much worse he must have been now.
Sebastian shook his head and focused on the task at hand. He searched his face with his hands. He needed to make this look real. He took his wand and transfigured his face to be bruised, he also did such on his side. He couldn’t be sure of how real it looked, but upon touching his face it certainly felt bruised. He smirked to himself remembering a duel he had with Prewett that might’ve gotten a bit out of hand in the past. He sighted calming his mind and preparing his act. He raised his wand and left his room in searching for MC feigning his most hurt expression, one that would look convincing in Ominis’s face.
He didn’t have to go far; MC was looking for him. Rather, they were looking for Sebastian. He could not tell exactly how MC looked when they saw him, but he could hear them gasp and very quickly he was surrounded by an embrace. “Ominis! You’re back! Oh Merlin, what happened to you? Your face!”, MC rambled while still holding him near them and inspecting his body carefully. This is it. Let’s put this plan to work,Sebastian thought.
“Sebastian, he – he… ah! MC! I’m afraid he must have gone mad!”
“Mad?”
“He had kept me in the dungeons somewhere for – for … I cannot know for how long. Feeding me only bread and water and… today he came to deliver a letter to me. A letter! I think he must have felt bad. Maybe he thought I was weak enough or that I had given up. He handed me my wand, and I did not think twice. I – I fought him, MC… My bestfriend! Then he ran, but I was so tired I could not follow… but he – he left the door open and I – I only thought about finding you. I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”, Ominis rambled. The words stumbled upon each other, almost as if he couldn’t believe himself what had happened. A strike of luck, a surprised foe who was also a gone dear friend.
MC didn’t know what to do but hold him as he poured his heart out and cried his very trained monologue onto their shoulder. They could feel his thinness in his chin slightly poking their shoulder uncomfortably. The suffering he had to endure. A month, they realized, Sebastian had held him captive for a month. They felt Ominis hiss when they squeezed him just after their realization, noticing he was probably hurt under his robes as well. Oh, Sebastian, what have you done, they thought. They knew he was hiding something, a gut feeling, but nothing so big as this sort of abuse. Of his bestfriend.
They guided Ominis to the hospital wing, where Madam Blainey quickly took care of him while MC talked to Professor Weasley about what had transpired. Together, the two told her about Solomon and Sebastian’s misjudgements, just as they had planned a month prior. Ominis asked her to have mercy on him, that he didn’t know what he was doing, that it was the dark arts that made him act this way, that he forgave him for the pain he had caused him. That he was simply lost and that he was no monster. The silence that followed was full of pity, but she agreed to take those into consideration. Satisfied with the outcome, Sebastian polyjuiced as Ominis allowed MC to take him back to his common room and to his dormitory, where he pretended to get some shuteye. When, of course, he sneaked out to feed the real Ominis.
Normality ensured very quickly. MC avoided talking about Sebastian, but they spent most of their time together in the Undercroft. They seemed happy to have him back, which infuriated Sebastian if he thought about it for too long. MC had read the letter Sebastian left Ominis which apologized for the pain he caused, but ensured it was necessary to find a cure for Anne. That he would continue looking, away from the school. And a farewell. MC felt guilty when they realized how relieved they were that Sebastian seemed to have left. They were still trying to wrap their mind around the idea of him kidnapping Ominis. And they also couldn’t understand how calm Ominis had been acting.
They found him about a week after being released from captivity reading a thick book on rare potions, with his dictating spell. It was usual for them to find Sebastian doing such task, but for Ominis… when they asked him about it, he said almost pragmatically, “I will continue Sebastian’s search.” They couldn’t hold back a gasp, which made him frown.
“I know Sebastian made terrible decisions. Dicisions that hurt his uncle and I. But Anne continues to be sick…”, MC sighed, and Sebastian reached out for them, who grabbed his hand on theirs. He smiled weakly. “I fear some of the choices he made are heavy on my shoulders. We should have steered him away earlier before anything transpired. Now I feel responsible for the only family he has left. One that once said I could consider her family as well. I owe them this. Please, MC. I need you to understand this.” Sebastian pleaded wearing a pained Ominis expression.
“I understand. But Sebastian will be looking for the same thing. Maybe even looking for Anne…”, they considered. “You know where she is right?”, MC asked unknowingly.
Sebastian’s heart dropped. He had forgotten to consider this part of his plan. Ominis knew where Anne was, for Merlin, he could go see her whenever he wanted. Bet he, as Ominis, didn’t. He needed to find out. Not only for his sake but for the sake of his plan. He smiled softly, that way Ominis did when MC said something silly.
“I do, but she asked me kindly not to tell anyone… for now.” MC agreed with a hum.
“And with Sebastian searching for her, it’s best no one else knows. For her safety.” Sebastian bit his tongue, feeling his anger build in his chest at their distrust. Did MC really think he was going to harm his sister? Everything he was doing was for her sake. Her sake. He summoned all his self-control not to squeeze their hand as they continued. “You should owl her, just in case.”
“I will”, he responded letting go of their hand. MC unconsciously complained out loud, but Sebastian was too angry to notice. He spent the rest of his time distracted, thinking he needed to see Ominis.
That afternoon couldn’t have passed slower. Sebastian practically swung the door to the room of requirement the minute it appeared to him. He found Ominis taking a bath. This wasn’t the first time he had found him enjoying the privacy he had in his delightful days in the tiny little haven Sebastian arranged for him, Ominis considered in sarcasm. The only bit of mercy Sebastian had bestowed upon his shameful way of living. In fact, Ominis had realized how irritated Sebastian would become upon such sight, because apparently, he got off on Ominis being miserable. He would then take his time whenever Sebastian would appear during such. That day was no different. He heard the door and chuckled to himself in mockery.
“Can’t a gentlemen have privacy?”, he snarked.
“What?”, Sebastian responded. The answer would have been weird already as he’d have been very able to see Ominis private moment. But what caught him off-guard was the voice his answer sounded like. Like his own. Ominis got up from the bath slowly, the sound of the water moving and falling onto the floor finally hitting Sebastian’s ear. He scoffed. “Oh, you’re bathing. Marvellous.” There were no doubts, Ominis thought, that was his voice. He got out of the bath and crossed the already memorized tiny room quickly, reaching out to Sebastian and grabbing at his face.
Sebastian recoiled at the surprise of his cold, wet touch, but didn’t have enough time to pull out his wand. In fact, he decided not to in case Ominis being more used to the lack of sight could be faster than him in snatching it up from his hands. He heard Ominis gasp and hold his breath, touching around what he quickly recognized as his own face. He remembered the times Sebastian plucked hair strands from his head and associated them to Polyjuice. Ah, Sebastian had taken his place. In a surge of anger, he pushed Sebastian backwards. He scoffed managing to keep his balance.
“Not cool to push a blind kid. Had enough?”, he mocked.
Ominis could feel the heat of rage burn his face, but before he could say anything Sebastian was talking again.
“Where’s Anne?”, it was his turn to scoff.
“What makes you think I will tell you?”, Sebastian sighed. Not impatient, he clearly knew this wasn’t going to be easy. “What are you going to do? Visit her with my face?”, Ominis questioned. Why did Sebastian need his face?
“Maybe I will. But not right away. When I have the cure I…”
“Cure? You’re still looking for a cure?”, Ominis couldn’t bring himself to believe that. Surely Sebastian wasn’t doing all of that for a cure that might as well not even exist. And, if it existed, Anne probably wouldn’t even want it. Not with how much pain it caused to be found. Sebastian must have rolled his eyes, in that very Sebastian way, because he scoffed again.
“I don’t expect you to understand. Just give me her location. Or I..”
“You what?”, Ominis snarked back. “Are you going to capture your bestfriend? Starve them? Oh right, you are already doing that.”
“What bestfriend?”, Sebastian hissed through gritted teeth. “Bestfriends don’t plan to turn the other in, for an honest mistake”.
“Honest mistake?”, Ominis questioned incredulous. “You killed your uncle. You crossed a line, Sebastian. You went too far!”.
“Far or not, I intend to keep going. You will tell me where my sister is, or I will have to see what I’ll do with MC.”, Sebastian threatened, his voice steady.
“You wouldn’t hurt them. You care for them far too much.”, Ominis risked, hopeful he was right. But that hope faded away in a desperate expression Sebastian couldn’t see when he said before leaving: “I used to feel the same about you.”
Sebastian was alone again with MC in the Undercroft not many days after. His Ominis semblant was focused as he continued reading a book, this time on rare herbs, sitting on a conjured sofa. He wasn’t sure what he could do with MC to show Ominis he had them under his thumb. But, that day his luck stroke again. MC was sitting near him, near enough that their knees brushed each other. In fact, MC would sometimes move, a stretch and yawn or to slump down in boredom, in a way that other parts of their body would touch. Their shoulder would lean on him, their hands would brush past, their hips would momentarily press against his.
If Sebastian didn’t know better, he would’ve thought MC was physically flirting with him. But they never said anything remotely flirty. Their voice always levelled and with a confident tone. Then a thought crossed his mind. What if he didn't know any better? He was in Ominis’s skin now. MC had never acted like that with Sebastian before. Sebastian wondered if Ominis ever flirted with MC. If Ominis had given them the same type of attention as Sebastian had given them before. Would they verbally flirt back? Maybe it was worth a try. Or maybe this was normal for them. Verbally friendly and physically close. Although not normal at all for most pairs of people. Well, he had never actually noticed this between them before. If he could figure out the nature of their relationship, maybe he’d be able to use this to convince Ominis. Definitely worth a try.
“MC, this herb here is being described as similar as another before, but I cannot quite figure out its appearance with my wand. Could you help me with this?”, he heard MC shuffle closer. Their body heat approaching as their hips touched his and their shoulders pressed against his arms, they were leaning over the book in his lap for a better look.
“Hm, right. This is talking about the leaves shape. The one you’re reading about now has longer and thinner leaves compared to the other one, with a more yellowish tint.”, they explained still observing the book, their voice unchanged. Sebastian approached them, their faces inches apart, to jointly search the book with his unseen eyes and their voice stuttered. “Th-the colour is-is important in differentiating them as-as this one can be poisonous if ingested when orange.” Hm, Ominis did have an effect on them, he thought. Sebastian nodded as they finished explaining and leaned back, satisfied. He felt MC also lean away and he reached out, his hand resting atop their knee, and squeezed.
“Thank you, MC.”
They stuttered again; their breath caught in their throat. “Mhm, s-sure.” He smiled at them, retracting his hand. He noticed the way they reacted to Ominis’s touch and wondered how little he had done. Perhaps he could provoke them in just the right way so they would crumble under his touch, something Sebastian was actually quite good at. He adjusted his sitting so their hips touched once more and turned his attention onto the book. He noticed MC hold their breath at his new position, slowly exhaling shakily when he didn’t give any sign of removing his contact. He contained a smirk.
The game had turned. MC was no longer touching him sneakily. This time Sebastian was the one doing the moves. Elbows brushing past, feet nudging, long sighs when their knees would separate. And to every touch there was a reaction. MC would gasp, hold their breath, they even dropped the quill they were using to write their essay. He could only imagine what MC actually looked like. If he could see, however, he’d notice their bright red complexion, the whiteness of their knuckles holding their quill at an almost superhuman strength, their clenched jaw, and their incessant lip biting.
That game was delightful for Sebastian, he almost forgot he was wearing Ominis’ face. Almost forgot he only got these reactions from MC because he was polyjuiced. But no matter, he was having fun. Then, in an attempt to make things more interesting, he grabbed and squeezed their knee once again, leaning in towards the general direction of their face and asking in an airy tone “Could you be so kind as to pass me the fudge…”. But he couldn’t finish the question as rather than crumble MC with his provocation, he made them pounce.
MC closed the distance between Ominis’ mouth and theirs in a second. The kiss was chaste at first, their soft lips touching Sebastian’s with a slightly forceful amount of pressure. He might’ve pushed them a bit far. Then their hand moved to cup his face, their thumb sliding across his cheek in a gentle caress and the kiss softened. Sebastian felt MC lean in towards him, melting into the kiss. Their lips tasted like fudge, soft and plump. There was also a slight taste of blood. Yes, they had been biting their lips just as he imagined, in that way he’d seen many times before. He got lost for a moment, his lips parting, trying to deepen the kiss. Then MC was far away from him. The kiss had ended just as swiftly as it began. They gasped, panicked and Sebastian could only blink quickly in response, frozen in his spot. Then, MC started rambling.
“I-I’ve always wanted to do this, Ominis. I can’t believe I’ve done this!”, they half mumbled, then continued painedly trying to explain themselves. “Somewhere along the way of our friendship, I started to feel more. Those days comforting each other in the Undercroft after Sebastian introduced it to me. Sharing our insecurities, our pasts, our concerns about him… They’ve only brought us closer and made me question whether the trust I had in you was that of a friend or something more. And – and I think it’s more. I keep wondering when our embraces will turn into kisses and I’m sorry if I crossed a line, but…”
“No, MC, you have not. I feel the same way. I always have.” Sebastian wondered if that was him acting or not, his chest aching.
“Really?”
“Yes. You need not feel ashamed. Those moments we shared meant the world to me as well.”, he knew that was probably true for Ominis. And understood where all his trust in MC came from. He tried hard not to roll his eyes and stay in character. But a strong upsetting feeling came rushing through him.
The realization that the two friends had been meeting from an early stage to talk about him. Perhaps their betrayal was set in stone much earlier than he expected. Perhaps he shouldn’t even have allowed them to talk that time in the Undercroft after his uncle’s death. He shouldn’t have trusted them. They clearly didn’t seem to have trusted him. Not before, not during their decision. He held them in such a precious spot in his heart and there they were, scheming together amongst stollen touches. Planning a future together, without him.
Sebastian got up from the sofa, slightly dizzy, and turned to MC with a fake smile. “We should talk about this another time, I… I am so happy, you surprised me incredibly that I need to think.”, MC was a blushing mess. They giggled and Sebastian chuckled in return. His ears started ringing. He didn’t care if it sounded fake. He’d deal with the aftermath another time if MC didn’t believe him. He passed them and left the Undercroft, walking furiously straight towards the room of requirement. MC watched him leave with a stupid smile on their face but couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.
“Ominis.”, Sebastian didn’t waste time, calling out to his former friend as soon as he stepped into the tiny room and closed the door. Ominis laid in the small bed, belly upwards, staring at the ceiling without seeing. He smirked sneeringly.
“I can hear the anger. I suppose MC did not give you what you wanted?”, he felt slightly proud. Sebastian forced a laugh, so loud that startled Ominis. He sat quickly in the bed, facing Sebastian. What could he have possibly achieved? Had he hurt them?
“Wrong.”, Sebastian calmed down. “They told me some things, you see, that might have opened my eyes a little further. Such as how you little traitors were sneaking around, for example.”, Ominis frowned not sure what he meant, Sebastian scoffed. “Your little dates on the Undercroft.”, this time Ominis scoffed.
“They weren’t dates. We were just… talking. Comforting each other.”, Sebastian scoffed again and Ominis felt anger rising in the back of his throat. “Not that you would understand, running around more concerned about learning the dark arts.”
“If they weren’t dates…”, Sebastian started and Ominis’s body tensed up. “why would they so eagerly not only flirt with me, but kiss me?”
“You’re lying.”, Ominis did not hesitate.
“They even confessed their love for me. Or rather, for you.”, Sebastian continued ignoring the other. “Quite upsetting that, you know, it wasn’t you listening.”, he chuckled.
“You’re lying!”, Ominis repeated getting riled up. He stood up and raised his voice, Sebastian faced his direction, feeling his hostility.
“Then, how do I know their lips were soft and plump. We were eating some fudge, chocolate you know, so they tasted as such. But, well, I was provoking them for a large part of the afternoon, you see, so they had been biting their lips. Their kiss tasted of chocolate and a bitterness of blood. And the way they cupped my face with their hand…”, Sebastian didn’t finish speaking in that smug, hushed tone.
Ominis crossed the room and reached out for him. He tried to grab onto his robes, but Sebastian was stronger, he had had enough meals and seen the sun more often, as well as had a wand. He felt Ominis approaching and pushed him away. He staggered backwards and Sebastian grabbed him by his thin white shirt, aiming his wand – Ominis’s wand – to his neck. None of them could see the hostility in each other’s faces, but both exuded anger and violence. Nonetheless Sebastian had the upper hand. He waited for Ominis’s response, knowing he still had fight in him. Ominis waited as well, secretly hoping the cruelty had finished. He was bitterly wrong. Sebastian chuckled and shoved Ominis backwards. He fell siting on the bed.
“Pathetic. You know I have your wand.”, he scolded.
“I don’t care! You’re going to hurt them, pretending to be me and…” , he huffed. “You know If you as so lay a finger on them, I will not hold back on you.”, he threatened. Ominis knew that no matter how weak he might have become, his will had to remain strong. Sebastian absorbed his words and frowned.
“Where is Anne?”
Ominis scoffed. Sebastian rolled his eyes and smirked.
“Maybe I’ll ask MC.” and left.

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I got this game and nine months since I started this blog. Unfortunately, the timing of me getting sick twice in a row these past couple of weeks means I wasn’t able to finish a fic in time to celebrate, but I’m determined to get one out soon! 💚 but I can’t let today pass me by without at least waxing poetic about this game, the community and their impact on me :)
cw: workplace abuse, childhood emotional abuse
This time last year, I was in a very abusive work environment. I was pushed well beyond my limits by people who didn’t care about me or the concerns I raised to them. I was told to shut up, that others had the same workload even though I clearly had more on my one-person “team.” I was a scapegoat. I began having weekly performance reviews in which typos in emails were put in the spotlight and heavily questioned/scrutinized. In the end, they fired me, HR refused to return calls from potential employers to verify employment, and they barred the few coworkers I actually liked from giving me recommendations (I only know because I aggressively pressed one of them after she rescinded an offer to help me), effectively making it twice as difficult to get any new job. I’m in therapy to recover from this experience, but I still carry a large amount of bitterness towards both my former job and myself, and I don’t know if it will ever fully leave me.
I am grouchy and short-tempered. I don’t consider myself to be a nice person or a good friend. My previous work experience solidified what an entire childhood of emotional abuse stemming from my neurodivergence taught me: it’s better to have no trust and be prepared to get angry if people think they can step on me; cut others off at the smallest sign of danger and keep myself at arm’s length from everyone unless absolutely necessary; calculate weakness in my bullies’ tactics and exploit it.
When I first got Hogwarts legacy, I would play maybe a couple hours every week. But what started out as an escape has become a source of healing. I see so much of myself in some of the characters, and seeing some of my pain, mistakes and flaws mirrored in them has given me the ability to give myself a little grace. I see so much of myself in Ominis, and my rabid need to write him receiving the love and healing I want/need has been extremely therapeutic.
Joining the HLDS dev team was the best thing I ever could have done. I’m finally starting to feel like I can trust some people a little more. The other discord server I’m a part of has been such a positive experience for me too, and I really do love and appreciate everyone there for being so nice to a grouch like me, even if I’m not really sure how to express that most of the time lol. The moots I’m regularly messaging/reblogging/responding to are so important to me. I am so happy you enjoy talking to me, because I adore talking to you too and seeing your notifs gives me such a huge serotonin boost.
Thank you to everyone who makes room for me in discord servers and reads my tumblr posts and talks to me about this game that’s had such a huge impact on me. It really does mean so much more than I could ever express. 💚

Match-up results! (Part 1)
Thank you to everyone who participated so far, this was a lot of fun! I'm posting the first half now since I haven't received anything new in 2 days and I wouldn't want the others to wait for an indefinite amount of time to see their results. As you can see there's 6 slots still available, there's no time limit so drop by whenever you feel like it.
Hopefully this is to everyone's liking!
1. @eudonyx
Fandom(s): Boku no Hero Academia
Match: Midoriya Izuku
Other suggestions: Todoroki Shoto, Fumikage Tokoyami, Denki Kaminari, Tamaki Amajiki
Somehow the moment I finished reading your description, my mind instantly shot to Midoriya and wouldn’t budge. Other possibilities? Sure, but I feel that Deku just makes sense. You’re simply the kind of person he would absolutely love and appreciate. As a fellow shy person he would immediately notice you. He would then soon remark just how well your personalities mesh together. You share his struggles and this is exactly why he’d be the best at supporting you and vice versa. Although it would be a comical sight to have both of you erratically overthinking an issue. Your hobbies and interests are quiet and introverted and would allow Deku to just spend some peaceful time with you and forget about the rest of the world. And on top of that, he’s patient and very socially aware so he would always actively listen to you. He’d probably have you figured out in no time. He’s the kind of partner that would have a little notebook to keep track of your likes and surprise you with the most thoughtful gifts at random times. “I saw you reading that book and the sequel is out, so I already got it for you!”
I’ve picked Todoroki and Tokoyami for similar reasons, both introverted and attentive. I feel like Tokoyami would be surprisingly romantic and sensitive. And Todoroki would go the extra mile to learn about your interests so he can have plenty of things to talk to you about. Now, Kaminari is that spicy opposite that might work against all odds. He’s loud and social, but also artistic. He’d love your humor and often push you out of your comfort zone while still being mindful. Although he might be a little too energetic for your preference at times. It could balance out nicely. Amajiki would also pull you out of your shell, but for different reasons! Whatever you’re struggling with, he’s twice as bad. Someone has to lead the way out. But he’ll be eternally grateful for that and will often let you know just how undeserving he is of someone like you.
2. @november-solarstorms
Fandom(s): Harry Potter, Hogwarts Legacy
Match: Sebastian Sallow
Other suggestions: Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy, Mirabel Garlick
After a quick scan of the bio I had been tempted to pick Snape as the main compatible partner, but upon further consideration and deeper reading I’m now convinced that an aged Sebastian Sallow is the perfect match. What really seals it for me is the thirst for knowledge and novelty. Sebastian loves to learn and experience and he would be the ideal companion for someone like you, always on the verge of being bored. It would be the kind of relationship where both partners are in a friendly, productive competition that allows them to better themselves as consequence. You recently picked up a new hobby? Give him one week and not only will he catch up, but teasingly remark he might just be doing better than you. He can easily keep up with your sarcasm and banter and is fiercely loyal and dedicated to his loved ones. Both you and him are dominant personalities, but in a way that allows each involved party to thrive. It's the power couple that’s always seeking a new thrill and is always ready to help their friends.
Snape and Draco would also be the kind to appreciate an intellectual, rational partner that is independent and rich in resources. Draco in particular would be very amused by your intimidating attitude. Though Snape might not be as eager to embark on new adventures with the same kind of enthusiasm as you. Professor Garlick is the opposite that completes you. I think the INTJ/ENFP pair is often considered an ideal match. She’d be the more empathetic half that is strongly intuitive and can guide you through your emotions. Someone to smoothen the edges. It’s mentioned in the game that Mirabel fell in love with Sirona’s confidence and it inspired her to have a similar approach to herself, so I suspect she’d be equally attracted to your way of being.
3. @zaboomanyoom
Fandom(s): Baki
Match: Biscuit Oliva
Other suggestions: Kaiou Retsu, Katsumi Orochi, Yuuichirou Hanma
Based on everything you’ve told me, I think Oliva would make you very happy. He can be extremely diplomatic, soft-spoken and charismatic if he needs to, so your family could drop the most insulting bomb and he’d just smile and offer a polite response instead. Then throw you a quick wink and a cheeky smile as a way to say “leave everything to me”. He could keep you engaged in conversation for hours on end because he’s similarly interested in and knowledgeable about many topics. His answers would be rich, detailed and introspective. He is mature and patient and I’m convinced he is the kind of partner to have a very complex romance, where it’s less about sexual attraction and more about healthy friendship built on trust, respect and compatibility. All the interactions are done with boundaries and expectations in mind. Is it too early? Does my partner need reassurance? He’d be great at figuring out what you like and matching those wishes. Overall he’s a dedicated, involved and caring partner that will put you above everything else and remind you all the time just how loved you are.
I’ve included Retsu and Katsumi for similar reasons. They’re patient, considerate and approachable. Retsu would definitely love waking up to a high quality coffee prepared by your expert hands, and in return he’d surprise you with an intricate breakfast for a cozy start of the day. Katsumi seems like the kind of person that would want children, but I feel like there’d be a lot of alternatives that he could compromise on for your sake. Such as being the favorite, fun uncle at family gatherings. And I know what you’re thinking, but hear me out: Yuuichirou is carefree and kind, and given his past he probably has a lot of experience with ptsd or trauma in general, so you can trust him to be understanding and helpful. Let him know what’s bothering you and he’ll take care of it.
4. @averagetoyakinnie
Fandom(s): Creepypasta, Boku no Hero Academia, Obey Me!
Match: Kagekao
Other suggestions: Ticci-Toby, Leviathan, Kyoka Jiro
Now let’s see. Right off the bat I can tell there's a lot of similarities between you and Kagekao, so I do think that there’s a lot of potential and compatibility in your choice. Energetic and intelligent, he would be quick to get you out of your initial, awkward and shy phase. He’d enjoy your humor and playful nature and might take advantage of your occasional rule-breaking in order to acquire a partner in crime. He would love to entertain himself by keeping up with your many hobbies, and given his dexterity and agility he would quickly excel at them. He seems to be a fan of accessories and I can definitely imagine him carefully detailing his outfits to whatever style you decide to don for the day. Though I suspect he would be mildly annoyed or deflated by the fact he cannot use his Japanese to confuse you, as he often does with other people. He normally likes to have the upper hand and you seem to keep him on his toes at all times.
I have also considered Ticci-Toby as a good match if you think of his verbose, overzealous and lively personality. He also shares your struggles in terms mental health, so he would be most knowledgeable in how to support you during times of need. He would love having a partner that understands him on a personal level, especially someone caring an thoughtful. It would be his safe space. As for Leviathan, he has similar interests and hobbies and he often dreams of meeting someone that shares his likes. Having a partner that’s supportive of your hobbies is one thing, but when they enthusiastically engage in said activities out of their own sheer enjoyment? He’d be over the moon. He would probably pester you all the time to hang out with him and even when you’re apart he’d text you about his latest finding or gossip. Jiro is an artistic soul and passionate about music, so she would absolutely love a partner that’s similar minded. She would suggest that you create music together and overall be very thankful to have her little corner of peace away from other irritating people.

So I woke up to anon in my askbox and one that sort of upset me. I'm not going to post it because though it has nothing to do with roleplaying or material I'm actively posting on here, it does contain spoilers about something that possibly others on here. But I have posted how I'm playing through Hogwarts Legacy and got an anon that, without asking, spoiled some parts of the game for me. I was not asked if I wanted spoilers nor even asked where in the game I was before I got the spoilers. So that is something I do not appreciate. I'm not that far into the game, I literally just unlocked the world map, and I have gone in utterly blind. I even got into this game because Bones ( @sinners-inc ) picked it up and got me interested in it. I've only had this game for maybe a week and personally I play games very slowly (usually to the point where I drop it after a while). So I was enjoying discovering things and going to Bones to chat about the things I've learned since she's a lot farther in the game. She's been great at not giving away any spoilers to me that are important to the plot unless I ask first. Now it's a little ruined as I was told about a character's death that I had no idea about.
TDLR: Please, ask me first if I'm okay about hearing spoilers about something and just don't go into my askbox and tell me them. Some things I am okay with being spoiled on but others I am not.

FOR THE HOPE OF IT ALL
Part 2: Year 7
-------
Author's note: Some reflections about pt 1 and some thoughts on pt 2
Hi my lovelies,
I am so thankful for everyone who took their time to read this, to comment or to like. But mostly, I'm glad you like my version of Sebastian(or at least the ''normal'' version of him, when he's not self sabotaging). I am constantly surprised and extremely flattered when I see that you appreciate this story. I never imagined so many people would read it and actually like it enough to keep reading. I think my most surrealistic moment was seeing people recommending this fic in some comments on TikTok. I literally had to rub my eyes to make sure I wasn't imagining things. Thank you, each and every one of you.♡
When I played the game Hogwarts Legacy I was so captured by his storyline and I felt as if they could have done so much more, which is why I started writing this. I felt the same with Ominis' storyline and his connection to Voldemort, although I was confused how I would make that into a story. Finally, I had some ideas and decided to start writing.
As you know I was conflicted whether or not I should write a 2nd part to this story. But honestly, I'm too invested in this to stop here. I know the ending isn't what you hoped for and I will tell you, it's not what I planned either. But since I'm writing a 2nd part(which I already started writing on and will post chapters as soon as possible) I couldn't do the ending I originally wanted, hence the very disappointing end.
When I decided that I would write about their 7th year I decided that I didn't want to repeat the 6th year all over. We need something new to build a story on. Y/n's heart is broken and she is in her villain(read: bad bitch) era when she returns to Hogwarts, determined not to ever let a man hurt her like that again. But like I've written, if it's right - you know. And if two people are meant to be, they will find their way back to each other.
Hopefully, you aren't too disappointed and are still excited for Y/n's last year at Hogwarts, because I certainly am. I can't wait to show you where this year takes us and what happens after.
My main goal was to write about a soft and kind love, something healthy. But of course, Sebastian is broken, and has his issues. I do not want to romanticize or excuse his bad behaviour when he is feeling down, which is also why I made Y/n leave at the end and set boundaries. But I also want to highlight that the good love that I write about does exist.
I will continue to post almost everyday, and tomorrow you will have the first chapter from part 2. This week(last week of Feb-23) is very intense for me and I have to prioritize my energy, which might result in fewer chapters this specific week.
Also a little fun fact: The smell that Y/n doesn't recognize in her Amortentia, which turns out to be Sebastian's perfume, I pictured smelling like Gentle Fluidity Silver from Maison Francis Kurkdijan.
Also, I made you a playlist on Spotify that fits the theme and vibe of this fanfiction(yes, this is part of my love language). You find it here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/26ysRl6LGmrV0ufITDjkBD?si=f045fa370f7941b1
Take care ♡

Decided to post my new Hogwarts Legacy fanfic here too! It’s also on AO3.
This future idea has been living in my head so I finally started to write it. I’ve never shared to tumblr before but I’ve been reading so many on her I thought I’d share!
In the Shadow of Choices
Chapter 1
He drops his keys and his auror badge onto the table near the door. With a sigh he stretches his neck. The flat is quiet, despite the muggle noise just outside. Silencing charms are very handy when you live in London.
He runs a hand through his messy hair. It hasn’t changed much since he was a boy, despite the fact that Ominis grumbles he should slick it back as he does. He shrugs off his coat and hangs it on the rack near one of his hats. Then he pulls at the buttons on his vest so that it hangs open. His starched white button up is already wrinkled.
“There you are!”
Sebastian glances up to find his closest friend. Ominis is leaning against the doorframe of his bedroom. He’s already cleaned up and in a fresh set of clothes. That makes sense since he left the office hours ago.
“Fancy a glass of fire whiskey?” Sebastian asks him with a raised brow. He flicks his wand up and a crystal decanter fills up a glass for him.
“No,” Ominis frowns and his pale eyes are narrowed. “Have you forgotten we have plans tonight?”
Sebastian stares at him. Plans? He doesn’t remember making any plans. His routine is always work then home. He doesn’t go out unless he has to or if he’s seeing Anne on his days off. “If you and Elise are going to dinner that’s fine,” Sebastian turns away as he nurses the dark liquid in his glass. “I’ll stay in tonight.”
Ominis mutters something too low for him to catch. He’s always been good at that even when they were children. Sebastian is the only person besides Elise that can read Ominis when he’s in a mood. It’s what makes them such good partners. The best in the department.
Sebastian rubs at the ache in his chest. As much as he appreciates and respects Ominis, he’s not the partner that Sebastian wanted to fight by his side.
“We have a reunion in Hogsmeade,” Ominis reminds his friend softly. He approaches slowly, his shoes nearly silent on their hard floor. “We’re meeting at the Three Broomsticks.”
Sebastian bites back a curse. He doesn’t want to see all their former classmates. The only people he cares to see he does. And then there’s the one that vanished. The one that broke his heart.
“I don’t want to go.” Sebastian voices to Ominis, turning towards the windows. The sun has finally set and the night sky is visible amidst the grey clouds.
Ominis sighs like he expected this answer. He knows Sebastian is still struggling with their friends disappearance after graduation. One minute she was attached to them. The next she was gone.
“You promised Anne that you’d be there,” Ominis uses his own words against him like a muggle might use a blade. Sebastian does anything his sister asks him to do. It’s one way that he’s atoning for the grievous mistake he made as a boy of killing their uncle.
It took nearly two years for Anne to speak with him after the events of their fifth year. It nearly broke him. Without MC, it might have. She was the only one that didn’t leave. Not even for a moment. She’s the one that brought them back together and cured his sister too.
“Fine,” Sebastian mutters. He finishes his drink, hoping it gives him a calm mind so he can get through the evening. “Let me clean up and we can go.”
The duo apparate to Hogsmeade. The village is just as wonderful as it always is. The houses are decorated for Halloween which is a few weeks away. Hogwarts castle looms in the distance. Sebastian ignores the twinge in his heart at the sight.
“Ah,” Ominis straightens suddenly. Sebastian glances up and finds Elise making her way towards them. “Hello love.”
Elise looks striking in a blue dress that’s cinched at the waist. Her pale skin is as white as snow. Her hair is as black as night and intricately knotted at the back of her head. Her eyes brighten at the sight of them. “I’m glad you made it,” she cheerfully exclaims.
Ominis circles an arm around her tiny waist and she presses a soft kiss to his cheeks. Despite seeing each other since their seventh year, Ominis still blushes.
“How was your day, love?” Ominis asks her and Sebastian follows the couple through the cobblestone streets.
“It was wonderful,” she replies immediately. “Garetth and I made quite a bit of headway on the shop. I can’t wait to show you the new greenhouse we designed.”
Elise is an expert herbologist and potioneer. She owns a new shop here in the village with Gareth Weasley. The pair make the best potions in all of England. They’ve even started to talk of expanding their business to Diagon Alley.
“We’re not running late are we?”
“No, I don’t think so,” she replies and Sebastian glances around the courtyard. The windows are dancing light and pumpkins. The smell of butter beer and fresh pastries fills the air. Someone nearby is playing music and a few people are dancing together.
Sebastian pulls open the door for the unlikely couple with him. Despite once being arranged to marry and hating each other because of it, Ominis and Elise found happiness. Both broke contact with their dangerous pure blood families. Sebastian knows they’re in love and they seem content just as they are.
The bar is decently crowded with witches and wizards scattered across the room. It’s loud with their chatter and laughter. Sebastian’s eyes instantly seek out his twin and through the chaos finds her sitting on a bar stool, smiling up at Imelda Reyes. Her dark hair is swept up in a usual bun. She looks so much like their mother.
He slips through the crowd with the ease of someone trained to do so. “Sebastian!” She calls his name in delight as he sits in the chair beside her.
Sometimes he has to pinch himself to see her so lively. It’s been years and still he can scarcely believe it. Anne’s cheeks are full and flushed pink. She’s in simple clothing and her belly is round and swollen. His second niece of nephew is due before the fall is over.
“Hello Anne,” he replies with a smile he reserves only for her.
“Oh I’m so glad you’re here,” she struggles to stand, her brow knitted in frustration.
Before Sebastian can aid her, Anne’s husband Eric appears and carefully takes her hands to pull her carefully to her feet. She touches his cheek and Eric brushes a hand over her belly.
Sebastian didn’t think anyone would be good enough for his sister. Especially not a Gryffindor. But when he found out that Eric Northcott was the only one besides he and Ominis that never stopped corresponding with her during her illness he didn’t mind the bloke. They married as soon as Anne finished catching up on her schooling and entered the training programs for Saint Mungos as a healer. Sebastian walked her down the aisle. They had their first child over a year ago now and Sebastian adores his nephew Gregory. Eric is a good man that loves his sister. He works closely with his department as well since he’s a lawyer for the Minsitry. It’s his job to make sure the dark wizards Sebastian and Ominis catch, remain in Azkaban. He’s very good at his job.
As Eric turns to speak with his friends Anne hugs Sebastian. He sinks into her warm embrace, feeling a bit like a boy when she dotes on him like this.
“I’ve missed you,” she tells him and her dark eyes shine in the firelight. “And Gregory does too. He’s been babbling your name constantly.”
“I’ll visit soon,” he promises and he means it. He shouldn’t neglect Anne and her family simply because he’s sad. They’re one of the few things that bring him actual joy.
“Good,” she nods her head. “Now I’m going to excuse myself for a moment to use the washroom. Speak with some of our friends,” she orders him sternly. Once more Sebastian is reminded of their mother. Anne is so much like her it makes his heart heavy sometimes.
Not wishing to incur her wrath, especially as heavily pregnant as she is, he slides into her now vacant chair.
“Sallow,” Imelda nods to him. She’s sporting her quidditch gear. She must have come from practice. Her hair is messy I’m a way that can only come from broom flight.
“How’s the team?” Sebastian asks her politely. Imelda was immediately picked up to play professional quidditch after graduation. After leading their team to two consecutive Quidditch House cups. Sebastian remembers them well as he played beater on her team.
“Perfectly polished,” she answers with a signature smirk. Sebastian remembers her rigorous training regimens. He’d bet anything they’ve gotten even more intense.
Next to her is Gareth, his arm is resting on the back of Imelda’s chair. He’s in clean clothes for once. Normally both he and Elise are filthy from their work. If it’s not dirt from their plants it’s potion residue he’s never able to identify. Imelda must have made sure he cleaned up.
That pair was one of the most surprising matches from their year. Quidditch Captain and Head Girl Imelda Reyes with amateur troublemaking potioneer Gareth Weasley. Sebastian supposes he understands now that he looks back. There was so much tension between them in classes. They got married after Imelda’s first season playing quidditch for the Pride of Portree.
“How’s catching dark wizards?” Gareth asks him, shooting him a toothy grin.
“Delightful when I get to duel,” Sebastian answers with a wicked grin. He slides into the persona he maintains at work. All his fellow aurors know Sebastian as a cunning and charming man. Only Ominis and Anne know how truly damaged he is.
As the night progresses he’s able to catch up with a bunch of his former classmates. He maintains his mask of his former self but does enjoy himself. Natty is a diplomat that’s fostered better relationships with wizarding communities all over the world. Amit is a very well known author and astronomer. Nerida is the first ever Minsitry liaison to the merfolk. Prewitt is moving into politics. Everett is a quidditch announcer that’s moving up to the global level.
All his classmates are successful and happy. But Sebastian can’t help but notice that several people are missing. Of course MC is one. But he’s used to missing her. She’s a constant wound that won’t fade.
“Still no word from Poppy?” Sebastian asks Natty who is sitting beside him. He helped organize a search when she first disappeared. But they came up with nothing.
He watches her face fall and his frown deepens. “Nothing.”
Poppy hasn’t been seen or heard from in two years. It’s enough that it was reported to the Ministry. She’s considered a missing person. Most of their classmates assume that Poppy is off chasing magical creatures. It’s where her passion has always been.
Sebastian hopes that’s true. But he knows Poppy isn’t the simple girl most people thought. She was fierce and battled poachers with a viciousness rivaled by few. He hopes that none of them caught up with her. Poppy was MCs best friend outside of Slytherin. They all adopted her into their group and Sebastian started to see Poppy as family.
“I’ve been pushing my contacts here in the Minsitry,” Natty explains, voice low. The last thing they need is for Samantha Dale to overhear them. Sebastian isn’t sure who invited her. She didn’t like MC or Poppy. She always voices her opinion that they both ran off chasing monsters.
“Leander is trying to get the Minsiter involved. He’s in contact with Poppy’s grandmother too. But people are resistant.”
“Is there anything I can do to help?”
“I’ll let you know.” Natty gives him a cheerful smile and places her hand over his, giving it a squeeze in thanks.
“Sorry to interrupt,” Sirona apologetically cuts through their conversations.
“Oh Sirona,” Nerida smiles at their favorite bartender. “Come join us! We’re reminiscing.”
Sirona smiles regretfully. “Would that I could. I’m afraid I’ve got a message for two of my favorite former Slytherins. It’s from Mr. Rowle.”
Sebastian stands quickly and unrolls the parchment. His bosses scrawl barely legible for him to read. Ominis moves to stand beside him. “What is it?”
“We’re being called in,” Sebastian murmurs. It must be urgent for them to be called back after their day. The office was so quiet when he left though. If something was planned, why weren’t they told?
Ominis lets out an annoyed huff. With his wand pulsing red he fetches his jacket. “It seems dark witches and wizards do not enjoy nights off,” he tells the group before them. “I’m afraid Sebastian and I must go and assist our boss.”
Sebastian smiles back at the ones waving to him. He leans down and kisses Anne’s cheek. “I’ll come visit this week. I promise.”
Anne’s worry is evident as it always is when Ominis and Sebastian go off on a mission. She worries for them constantly. “I’ll hold you to that. Be safe.”
“We’re always safe,” Ominis teases her and kisses her other cheek. “Or at least…I am and I in turn keep your brother safe.”
Eric takes her hand and laces their fingers together. He knows that more often than not they end up in fights. It’s in the reports that he no doubt reads to prepare for his job. But he’s never told his sister all the terrible details which Sebastian is thankful for.
Sebastian waits at the door as Ominis bids goodbye to Elise. She’s sitting next to Amit and Everett, her former housemates. Her smile is sad but she presses her lips to against his mouth. Her hand clinging to his shirt collar. Sebastian is sure she must be telling him to be careful. Ominis likely is assuring her they will be as he extracts himself from her arms and they leave the warm pub.
The air is cool and the wind bites through his slacks. He wishes he had robes for extra protection. But a fight might be just what he needs. The high of a battle and the energy of facing down an opponent. He can only hope it’ll be a worthy adversary. A good duel always gets his mind off of anything that bothering him.

Sebastian Sallow x Male MC Fanfic (Like Moths to a Flame) - AO3 & Wattpad
I haven't been on Tumblr in years, but I was told it has a very active Hogwarts: Legacy community so that clearly had to be remedied. And WHAT A COMMUNITY THERE IS. I'm so thrilled to be back! In other news, I have no idea what I am doing, but here goes nothing... In March 2023, I wrote a Sebastian Sallow/Male MC story on Wattpad. It was originally meant to just be a one-shot, but (surprise surprise!) it soon became a full series, which I eventually crossposted to AO3 in August. (A huge thank you to the lovely reader who suggested that! It was much appreciated!) Now, 170,000+ words, 20,000+ reads on Wattpad, 6,500 hits on AO3, and two official fan artists later, I am clearly in absolute thrall to this series, and it won't be ending anytime soon. If you're interested, check it out on Wattpad or AO3. I love to interact with readers, so please don't hesitate to comment and/or reach out here on Tumblr too! My Linktree (where you can find author-curated Spotify playlists for both stories) Excerpt from Like Moths to a Flame:
"Levioso! Accio! Incendio!" Damien yelled from across the room, Leander his unfortunate target.
Sebastian stood in the back of the crowd beside Natty. It was a good turnout for the championship match. He had found a decent spot between heads to watch everything going on without being at the front of the pack. He was still embarrassed by his poor show last week.
Ominis didn't come this year. He said he didn't feel there was a point since Sebastian was out of the tournament. He also wanted to get some rest since he was still recovering from his illness.
Sebastian focused his attention back on the match. Damien had already defeated Charlotte, the rare Hufflepuff member of Crossed Wands. She was sitting on the floor, dazed.
Sebastian wasn't surprised when Damien told Lucan he planned on dueling solo for the final match, but he was still impressed. Competing alone against four of some of the best duelists at the school was quite a challenge.
Leander stumbled back as Damien hit him with three Basic Casts in a row.
Just to mess with Leander, Sebastian called out, "You're better than that!". He grinned to himself as Natty shoved him playfully on the shoulder.
"That was mean-spirited," she said, looking as if she was struggling to hold back her amusement.
"What? He's an arse."
"It would be more effective to root for Damien."
"I don't hear you providing any words of encouragement."
She giggled, cupping her hands to her mouth, and called out, "Go, Damien!"
Damien glanced over in her direction as Eric and Nellie both threw Basic Casts his way. Despite the distraction, he blocked them with a well-timed Protego and managed to cast Stupefy at Nellie, knocking her back.
Eric yelled out and tried a poorly aimed Incendio, which Damien didn't even need to block. Meanwhile, Leander was floating in the air, angrily muttering to himself.
Sebastian, not one to be one-upped by a Gryffindor, followed Natty's lead, and when there was a small break between casts, shouted at Damien, "Give 'em what for!"
Damien scanned the crowd, searching for Sebastian, and when they made eye contact, tossed him a winning grin with an unexpected wink. Sebastian blushed.
It took Sebastian a moment to realize Natty had stopped watching the match and was looking at him with a curious expression.
"What?" Sebastian asked, his voice coming out rougher than he intended.
"He didn't wink at me."
"What do you mean?" he said, feigning ignorance.
Natty gave him a sly grin but kept quiet. She shifted her attention back to the duel.
They had missed Eric being pulled out of the match. He was now pacing the back of the room with a fellow Gryffindor gesticulating wildly. Someone was a poor loser.
Leander was still going strong it seemed, but Nellie was on her last legs. She was struggling to keep up with Damien's volleys. He was quite quick with his casts, almost as fast as Sebastian, which was certainly saying something.
Damien pulled Nellie to him and hit her with a forceful Incendio. It would have completely incapacitated her if it was Confringo. Too bad Sebastian and Damien weren't meeting until tomorrow night. Confringo would have come in handy in Crossed Wands. Oh well.
Leander successfully hit Damien from behind a few times as Damien continued to target Nellie. It didn't bother him in the slightest. He hit Nellie one more time with Incendio and she flew back against the wall, out of the match.
One more to go.
Sebastian couldn't wait to see Damien destroy Leander. It was going to be glorious.
Leander and Damien both shouted, "Levioso!" in unison, canceling out each other's spells.
Damien tried again, this time getting a hit in successfully.
Sebastian knew Leander hated being stuck in the air. Leander muttered something to Damien, riling him up. That was apparently a mistake on his part. Damien's expression clouded over and he hit Leander with Incendio as many times as he could.
When the levitation spell lifted, Leander slumped to the ground, totally spent. Damien turned around triumphantly, his back to Leander, assuming he'd won the tournament, but Leander jumped to his feet.
Sebastian yelled out, "Mind the wand!" just in time. Damien blocked Leander's attempted Confringo and threw a Stupefy back at him. Leander stumbled backward, his eyes widening in shock, and crashed onto the cold stone floor with a thud. He lay there for a moment, dazed and disoriented, before slowly pushing himself up into a sitting position. As he sat up clumsily, his eyes flashed with anger, glaring first at Damien, then Sebastian.
No matter; it was done. Damien had won.
As the crowd erupted into applause, Natty looked back over at Sebastian. "You should go congratulate him." She shoved him lightly in Damien's direction, who was talking with Lucan in the corner of the room.
Sebastian hesitated for a moment before nodding and making his way through the crowd to Damien. He wasn't sure what to say, but he knew he had to do something to show his support. That's what friends were for, right?

Chapter 12: Panic
The Sun, the Moon, and All Our Stars
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary and Details…
Chapter Background and Summary: Weeks have passed. Sebastian finally broke down and wrote a letter to Kate, begging for forgiveness, telling her he still desperately wants to be with her, and asking if they can meet. Kate agrees, longing to see him again but knowing she must tread carefully - Sebastian may disappoint her again. In this chapter, they meet up at the Three Broomsticks for the first time in quite a while. Sebastian, eager for a fresh start, is prepared to woo Kate with everything he has. However, the dinner is not going well. Sebastian panics.
Pairing: Aged-up, post-Azkaban Sebastian Sallow x female OC (Kate Mayflower)
Trigger warnings: Racing thoughts, anxiety, fear of rejection, self-loathing. Please note that this is not the confident Sebastian we know in Hogwarts Legacy. This is post-Azkaban Sebastian, who has seen and done things most could not imagine, who hates himself and believes he'll never be happy again.
The full chapter is available below the cut, along with the AO3 link. Any kind of constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated. A comment, like, or Kudos would make my day.
Chapter 12: Panic
It’s not going well.
It’s not going well, and I don’t know why.
I dressed up. Merlin, I dressed up just for her.
I gave her lily of the valley to express how happy I am that she agreed to meet me.
I picked up a muggle book because of her and brought it along. I did start reading it - it isn’t just for show. It’s not half bad.
I spoke about her future bookshop. I praised the idea.
But she’s not giving me the responses I want. The ones I need.
How do I turn this around?
Fuck.
Why meet me just to give mixed signals? Why? Why?
Is she setting me up for a letdown?
Fuck.
She would be kind enough to meet me just to tell me she isn’t interested. That it’s over.
Shit.
Shit, shit, shit.
I… fuck… I can’t stand it…
If she says no, I will have nothing at all to live for.
Absolutely nothing.
No family.
No friends. No real friends.
My job - I shouldn’t even have it.
I should be in prison…
I should be dead.
No, no, I can’t think like that…
New strategy. I have to try. She has to be mine.
She has to.
Gods above, look at her.
Gods.
She’s a vision.
Bloody fucking gorgeous, that’s what she is.
She looks like Spring itself in pastel yellow and white.
Does she know what she looks like to me? To other men?
How could one see her and not fall in love?
How is she not married?
How is she single?
Oh, gods. Maybe she isn’t single.
Shit…
Maybe this is why she’s here. To tell me she has moved on.
Maybe she found a real man. One she doesn’t have to be ashamed of. One who has money. Security. A good reputation.
Someone who doesn’t keep the truth about his life from her.
What if she’s going home to see him right after this?
Shit.
Shit.
Shit.
I can’t think.
I can’t breathe.
Fuck, relax!
Fucking relax!
Don’t fuck this up.
You fuck everything up.
She’s not saying anything.
It’s silent.
Say something.
Ask her. Just ask her. You want to know.
Should I take her hand first?
Oh, fuck.
I’m going to ask. I have to ask.
I need to ask.
