Day 7: Dreadnought armor

Today I continued with my repatriation of my space marines. This project was the assault terminators and my blood angel dread. Thunderhammer terminators are one of my favorite units in 10th edition. A big brick of 10 with an infiltrating captain is a fun problem for your opponent to deal with. The librarian dread is also fun. He gets to "da jump" a space marine unit somewhere outside of 9 of an enemy unit.

Seeing these guys out on the table really gives my brain all the good chemicals. It reminds me of playing dawn of war II. I loved loading everyone up in terminator armor and slamming into the enemies of man. Good times...

I cant wait to hit a table again.

Mini Painting - Wraithblades

Bodies and bases painted for my Wraithblades. These have been magnetised at the arm and wrist so they can use any loadout in the box; swords, axes, cannons, D-scythes, they can be swapped out whenever.

Unfortunately that does mean I have to paint all those fiddly bits. Eventually.

is steve aware that his friends can take care of themselves? absolutely.

does this stop him from taking petty revenge on assholes that hurt his friends? fuck no.

he will absolutely make some 17-year-old high schooler cry in the produce aisle after she made some shitty comments about robin where she could hear them.

does he feel good about menacing some middle school bullies with his nailbat after dustin told him how they make fun of his lisp? not necessarily. does it fill him with satisfaction when he overhears the kids some weeks later about how those same middle school bullies had mysteriously stopped being mean? hell yea.

yes, hopper, he really wanted to help that sexist pig up after he accidentatily-on-purpose tripped him. no, he definitely didn't want to break the hand (he put on nancy beforehand) when he stepped on it. just an accident, chief, he swears. he's just been a bit clumsy after those concussions.

after he hears about the angela-rollerskate-situation, he high-fives el and then teaches her how to make people cry with words alone to keep the arrests to a minimum in the future.

andy suddenly has an influx of bad luck. his car gets vandalized every week for three months straight. his parents are of the impression that he has a drug problem, make him quit the basketball team and force him to pee in a cup every week until he goes off to college. and for months, there's a rumor at school that he can't make a girl cum and has a small dick. but he's lucky - steve originally planned to take his nailbat to his kneecaps but hopper stopped him.

steve hears about some dipshit from the basketball team giving lucas shit after spring break. so he drives to the park, challenges him to a one-on-one and proceeds to humiliate that fucker on front of his teammates and girlfriend. when dipshit later tries to get revenge, steve breaks his nose for good measure.

Startin up a hobby streak.

For day one, I painted up one of the gnarlwood trees. It takes well to drybrush, but I wish I primed it brown. The bone and and bamboo would have looked better. Not sure how I would have done the wood though.

Now I have some more fantasy friendly terrain to post minis with. Score!

i suspect that i have adhd so my brain is never peaceful but i haven’t known my normal sense of ‘peace’ since last friday 💀

#i’m having to do a load of overtime at my work this week but my brain just doesn’t want to concentrate on work #it wants to rekindle a love for an old hobby but i can’t do anything about that until the weekend #i spend my time at work praying i don’t lose the spark before the weekend #i also started rearranging furniture in my bedroom but had to stop because of work #now my room is a mess and i’m overwhelmed 🫠#I also discovered this week that my hair is turning grey #and the only consolation prize is the fact that i’m now growing a grey streak #and then there’s whatever is happening with joker out 🤣#personal
