sometimes i wonder about the people ted left behind in the us. i mean, the way he is, the little we do see of his coaching from then, i have no doubt he had a great impact on his players and staff there, too; that they loved him, too. but like, we never see ted still connected to any of them. i understand why like, on a doylist level--narratively it would just clutter things to have this whole other cast, and beard is already there showing his previous important connections, but like. i dunno. i just wonder.
I actually think Roy was serious when he asked Jamie if he was “fucking dying or some shit.” The fact that his granddad died suddenly when he was away at sunderland probably acclimated him pretty young (in the worst, most harsh way) with the idea that death is permanent and universal and can be also be completely random and sudden, and I imagine that instilled in him a lot of death anxiety about his loved ones. He always jumps to that. Phoebe has a fever so she must be dying. His sister isn’t answering his texts so she must be dead. Jamie isn’t himself so he must be dying. Everyone is always dying and there’s nothing he can do to stop it
One thing that was brought up in BG1+2 was that Bhaalspawn have subtle markers that show them for the creepy changeling children they are from birth: "...the marks of chaos, have power with no direction, and shall feel the blood of a god within them."
Bhaalist priests can recognise them, Sarevok recognises them in himself and Charname... but it never actually explains what the fuck that means. It seems like you need to know what to look for though: Bhaalist priests would know their own deity's signs, and Sarevok did his research.
It's not simply "you get weird dreams when you finish puberty", you can spot a Bhaalspawn while they're still in the cradle if you know what you're looking for: "Nyalee did see him for the spawn-child he was while but a babe and stole him from the crib!"
Considering that you meet at least one Bhaalspawn who mentions feeling that divine essence his entire life, I can only assume it's the usual faire of murder ideation, a sense of alienation, occasional strange powers, and sometimes being the creepiest children on Toril... maybe all Bhaalspawn start off with one of those tells (extremely destructive out of control temper tantrums, little baby magnets for undead and hauntings, triggering the fight or flight reflex in people by existing, silver allergies, holy water allergies, etc etc... Something physical like black blood is probably too obvious a tell.)
a girl who has nice hands and wears pretty rings that wrap perfectly around her fingers. can’t help but think about how cold the metal would feel on my hot skin or how they’d feel inside of me. running down my body, touching me where i need her the most.
her making me wear her rings for her as she goes down on me, telling me to keep them nice and clean for her until she’s all done. all i have to do is lay back and look good, play around with her rings while her tongue’s getting lost inside. telling me to look into her eyes and to focus so she won’t lose sight of me letting out moans of her name.
don’t forget, sucking on her fingers when she’s done.
Sitting here crying over lmk's theme of "Even if you're flawed and the good you've done is flawed, that doesn't make your efforts any less meaningful/significant. Flawed good is better than no good."
