On a roll! This pattern is [CLOSED] for testers - the original garment is a c. 1910 brassiere (or corset cover) with a 47” (119cm) bust and 40” (101cm) high waist. It’s deceptively simple - that cross-bust entredeux lace hides two pairs of darts, and there’s also an appliquéd underarm guard. I’m definitely going to make a version for myself at some point <3
Edit: Now on Etsy here!
I received some tester photos back but none of them are actually the right size for this garment, so holding off on posting them here. (Both have large busts and comparatively small waists, so while they can wear it, it doesn't fit them as it should.)

sick and tired of seeing people use zip ties for boning. listen to me i am a costume designer stop using plastic which does not hold your shape (the whole point of boning) you do not need to buy proper coiled boning or anything: go to a hardware store and find flat metal tension spring (google tells me that's what it's called, unfortunately i also don't know what its used for in hardware store related things so i cant describe it if that isnt the correct translation, soz) you can get a roll of 15m x 4mm tension spring for about 15 euros where i live and then you just have to cut it with metal shears (you can use a regular cutting pliers probably but if you have metal shears you will be happier) then either file down the edges a bit if you're genuinely gonna wear it a lot, or you just wind some tape around the edges to make sure putting them in the channels isn't gonna rip your fabric and anyway now you have an actually functional boned garment. go to a hardware store and show them this pic btw:

^ this is what you want. also bc this is 4mm wide around stress points like closures you want to make 2 channels right alongside each other and put in 2 pieces of tension spring for stability

Free pattern!
I took this pattern from an antique 1920s camisole with a 47.5" bust. It's super simple and should be a quick project (and of course, it's easy to alter for size).
(If used as a camisole or corset-cover, it's probably best for a bust of less than 47”. If used as a bust reducer/binder, best for someone with approximately a 48” underbust and a bust larger than 50”.)
You can download it as a single file with cm or inch grids OR as printable tiled versions for letter or A4 paper - they're all on my blog here:
I'm putting this one up for free not because it didn't take effort to make, but because the actual garment is simple enough that it just doesn't compare in complexity to my other patterns. So enjoy the freebie :)

Renruki Week Day 3: Fashion
Paper dolls? Paper dolls. Paper dolls!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For some reason, I thought it would be fun/good drawing practice to make Renruki paper dolls! This took me ten million years and I nearly died, like, six times!
I felt bad because I got to see them in every single variation of these outfits and you didn't, but then another paper doll post randomly crossed my dash which featured an animation, so please enjoy this fashion show, ordered by appearance! (and no, Renji's sweater is not canon I just really like a man in a cardigan)
