There’s many characters in the commission to say the least, everyone got their story and how they got there, much how you ended up there.
But you weren’t that special, you don’t think so at least, not with your coworker having the head of a cow and speaking fluent Spanish and French.
You didn’t usually interact with other employees there that weren’t in your department, it wasn’t because you thought yourself better than them but everyone other than you moved too fast, worried at lot, but you suppose the calmness comes from knowing what your future is and how very little it takes to change your fate.
It was also noted that your department tended to stay to focus on appearances and self expression, you’ll be mostly found in different outfits and fun makeup, it clashed with the usual uniform but it was fine because in your case, it mattered what you said rather than what you looked.
In your years there you’ve predicted deaths, wars, fallouts and whatever you can think about.
It was your job anyways and no one knew your face to point fingers at who is telling on their little failed schemes.
Although….there has been a change of atmosphere since you began seeing some interesting visions about a certain agent.
Five Hargreaves.
An oldie he was, yet surprisingly this was the first time you’ve seen him do something so….unexpected.
End of the world? His family? A new threat from within? Interesting.
You find yourself watching him, from your department, from the windows, he always walked with a purpose and heading somewhere.
Your coworker likes to tease you about this…sudden interest of yours calling him a call for help and that you need to get laid or something along those lines.

"Oh come on, aren’t you even a little curious? He’s so…mysterious"
Your staring had led to some rumors spreading around but nothing crazy, you weren’t the first to show any interest in five but it did become slightly embarrassing when you caught him staring at you during a New Year’s party.
Then you were surprised to find him up in your department looking for you.
"I thought I’ll drop by instead of our regular routine of you staring down at home like a hawk and me pretending I don’t see you"
"Oh…sorry?"
"I’ll accept good coffee and a conversation as a form of apology, meet at six outside."
Did he just ask you out? You weren’t so sure about it but it did happen and there were cameras, and to say the least, you became everyone’s business within a few hours.
"Care to tell me why a woman like you was staring at old me? I know your job here and what you’re capable of" He was so calm it made you shiver but you still kept your professional face on.
"You know as much as me that if I let something out both of us would be counting our days here"
"I see the rumors are true" He smirked
"Which ones?" Your curiosity peaked.
He took a sip from his cup "that’s a subject for another day with a much filling meal"
You bit your lip and chuckled "Are you asking me to dinner?"
The older gentleman eyed you so intensely you could almost feel the blush creeping at the back of your neck "I know a good restaurant in 1987 France"
"Hmm, it’s a date then"
"Only if you keep wearing that red lipstick of yours"
So he was watching you too "don’t tempt me I might rebel off and put something else, mess with you a little"

You smiled at him then moved your under the table and kicked foot making him wince in pain.
"Pick me up at 7:30pm and a word of advice, watch out for chainsaw at your next mission" You stops leaving him stunned and clearly interested.

Miguel doesn't fuck around when his wife's feeling down about herself. He brings his A game to make sure she knows all this about herself and so she can see herself the way he sees her.

First I'd like to say, it's a pretty impressive list of french books to have read in only 12 months! (even for a french speaker ngl).
I'm not super well versed in classic literature, novel wise (tho I liked "le dernier jour d'un condamné" by Hugo, "la promesse de l'aube" by Romain Gary, and as cliché as it may be I adore "le petit prince") but if you like theater ! In classics I’d recommend "Phèdre" and "Iphigénie" by Racine, Molière ("le malade imaginaire" and "les fourberies de scapin" are personal favorites),"Hernani" by Hugo again (♡♡), and for more modern stuff "Rhinocéros" and "la cantatrice chauve" by Ionesco. Oh, and "Huis Clos" by Sartre!
In poetry, first of all I think Villon is a great, and brave choice especially if you have it in old french (one of my all time favorite poem is his, "la ballade des pendus"). Otherwise, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Verlaine and Apollinaire !
In a bit more modern things, if you liked Queneau I’d say give "Zazie dans le métro" a try – tho the way he plays with vocabulary and spelling in this one can be challenging (but it is very fun). Then "Au bonheur des ogres" and "La fée carabine" by Daniel Pennac (I assume the rest of "La saga malaussène" is good too but I have only read those two so far), "escalier C" by Elvire Murail (this one is a big big big fave of mine ♡♡♡), "mercure"by Amélie Nothomb (she’s super prolific but this is the one I remember really enjoying).
For sci-fi, I realize I am not very up to date with what french literature proposes. It’s been quite some time but I remember enjoying “le cycle des fourmis” and “les thanatonautes” + “l’empire des anges” by Bernard Werber. Also “les lutteurs immobiles” by Serge Brussolo. My mother is a harcore fan of Pierre Bordage, so I will slip his name here too.
Then I don’t know if you enjoy reading short stories, but in between some scifi/fantasy/fantastique I can rec “la vieille anglaise et le continent – et autres récits” by Jeanne-A Débats, “notre dame aux écailles” and “le jardin des silences” by Mélanie Fazi, Oh and in … I guess technically fantasy? But bordering historical fiction bc of the realism, “chien du heaume” and the next one “mordre le bouclier” by Justine Niogret are two very good short novels.
I am probably missing a ton of great titles, but my brain is failing me and I have very few books in french here (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ) (most of them stayed, well. In France). But this makes me think I really need to get back into actually reading in french – so I am adding Valérie Perrin to my lists for sure!
omg thank you for these recs!! this is so detailed and specific, i love it. you're reminding me i've read several of these before, like i had forgotten about rhinocéros but we read it in high school and i really loved it! i should reread that and/or read some other ionesco for sure. speaking of absurdist plays, have you read en attendant godot? i've read it in english but i know it was in french originally so i've been thinking about trying that. big fan of french absurdism.
i also read a lot of molière in high school french classes (i remember giving an extremely boring and long-winded presentation (for everyone else; i was super into it) on his plays to my english class for some reason??), which is how i first learned what a cuckold is lol. and of course we read some baudelaire but i really want to revisit him! also omg apollinaire is the calligramme guy, right? those rewired my brain. i will check out more of his stuff for sure. and it's good to have the names of some other heavy hitters so i can expand out to cover more than was included in my formal education obvi. (like i have read zero racine? which seems like an oversight in curriculum, but what do i know.)
i do have villon in old french 😩 or i guess technically middle french is what he was writing in. the reason i've been putting it off is that right after the preface there's a four-page section on "graphie et prononciation" and i was just like hmmmm is this really something i need to be introducing into my life at this formative time. like i'm still sort of coming to terms with modern french spelling and pronunciation and this seems like it might just confuse me. so i might not be quite ready, but it's here for me when i've leveled up lol.
i loved the one book by queneau i've read so far, so i super appreciate getting recs for other works by him. and i read one amélie nothomb a few years ago, but when i went to look at what else i could read by her i got so overwhelmed by the sheer number that i couldn't pick! so it's good to have your suggestion for a particular title 😊 i've not heard of the other people you mentioned but will look into them!

yeah i super recommend changer l'eau des fleurs, and i know valérie perrin has written at least two other novels, so i'm gonna try to get my hands on those! the challenge now is that whenever i try to buy books from overseas my credit card company marks it as fraud and cancels the transaction lol. my grandmother found this us-based company that imports books from france and really wants to get me some more french-language books for christmas, but their selection isn't huge. this gives me lots of ideas though and i'm sure they will have at least some of the books you mentioned! thank you again, you really came through 🥰🥰

"Stretch" (2014) review
Aka ✨ why this movie is one of the most underrated ones I've ever seen and why it is some of Patrick Wilson's best work ✨
"If you like stories about chance and coincidence, here's one you've never heard" gives me the chills every time 😮💨
Patrick Wilson is one of the most underappreciated actors of his time, like, not only do his other projects demonstrate that he has drama, romance, instruments, and singing down ✨, but here he is finally given a chance to flaunt his impeccable comedic timing, vocalizations, and expressions
Idk maybe I just love movies with narration (ex., "Heathers," "Jerry Maguire," "Amelie," "Eloise at Christmastime," "Megamind," "American Made," "The Outsiders," etc.)
But jokes aside, I will defend Patrick Wilson's narration throughout the movie no matter whAT ANYONE SAYS YOU CAN PRY IT FROM MY COLD DEAD FINGIES; IT IS AT TURNS FUNNY AND RELATABLE AND PROFOUND AND WE GET TO KNOW THE MAIN CHARACTER BETTER 😤😤
It does start a bit slow, especially if you aren't as invested in Patrick Wilson as I am 🙃🫠 but if you stick with it and pay attention to the subtle comedic elements in the meantime 👌🏻
This movie is not afraid to be a bit irreverent, which is a modern and mainstream rarity
Stretch and Charlie are so cute together; I wish more of their interactions had been kept in the final cut because when I think of the quality content that we missed 😩💖
"Who gains weight in their neck?" "Sexy people." "Three months of Rosetta Stone- I HATE THE FUCKING FRENCH." "We was gettin' all romantic, watching Titan-tic..." and so, so many more
Honestly, Karl is an integral part of this film as well- he may seem overtly cartoonish to some, but again, we get to know the main character better through him, as his presence gives us a visual of Stretch's inner struggle; he contributes to the dark humor vibe, and Ed Helms was clearly having the time of his life (as was the entire cast)
Speaking of which, stellar casting all around, especially those who were cast against type; love when directors give that stuff a chance. Everyone was made for their role

Same goes for the post-Candace club exit scene with the valet, the wannabe rapper, and the sex club exit scene (there's a man wearing only balloons. need I say more). I mean, the whole movie is basically the best part and I'm trying not to make this review me just naming every scene and going "yes. this is good" but these are some of the most standout parts
The soundtrack may be atrocious overall, but the exception is the song at the end (although I was disappointed when I read that it was originally supposed to be "Telephone Line" by ELO but they didn't have enough in the budget because that would have gone so hard) 😩💕
Speaking of the ending, why is it so incredibly pure and sweet to me that it would almost make me cry if I weren't medicated? 🥺 Something about the setting of the diner, exuding vintage charm and glowing in the sun the quiet morning after the previous night of chaos, and the serendipity of how Stretch and Charlie finally reveal how much they've obviously liked each other for a while, and after all of the danger and depravity, everything ends soft and gentle and alright 😊💖
This film is somehow so sleazy and wholesome at the same time- against the backdrop of drugs, sex clubs, threats of violence, and constant swearing, it's ultimately a story about overcoming cynicism and self-destruction, getting your "mojo" back, taking control of your life, and allowing for the possibility that things happen for a reason ✨ Honestly? 10/10

It's been a few days since I've slid into your inbox which, realistically, is way too long so I grant you with Miko x Evren hcs bc of my brainrot:
Soo after playing a football match abroad, I see Miko coming home and Evren’s there to pick her up from the airport with the biggest grin on his face and he’d have handmade banners and everything like this - x
I imagine Ev casually asking Miko, “do you want to be in my next music video, babe?” Shooting music videos have always made him anxious, so if Miko said yes and came on set then it’d be so comforting for him and everyone would realise how Miko’s presence positively affects him.
I hc that Ev’s really close with their band that they tour with, and they know about him and Miko and I imagine one of Ev’s band mates texting her about Ev like:
I think it’d be a regular thing where Evren would ask Miko what music she’s listening to and asks her to send him a playlist. Ev doesn’t really listen to their own music, so he’d enjoy jamming to and knowing what Miko listens to and then he’d jokingly text ‘so this is why you don’t listen to my fucking music xx’
I’d think that the first time Miko speaks to Ev’s mum, Rosalie, would be over the phone. Miko would go “baby, your phone’s ringing” but Evren’s busy and would say “you can answer it, love” and then it ends up being Rosalie on FaceTime and she and Miko end up having small talk whilst they’re waiting for Evren and then Rosalie would say “I can see why he likes you so much, you’re gorgeous”—which is so Evren-coded so now we know where he gets it from.
^ Evren usually talks to their mom in French and/or English, and then Spanish/English with Javier so I’m curious to know what Miko thinks about her boyfriend knowing more than one language fluently.
Oo, I think you mentioned and/or it was on your Pinterest that Miko and Ev would be the couple to have at home fashion shows when Miko orders lots of clothes and I imagine her trying something on and saying “how do I look?” and I see Ev having shimmering eyes and being so in awe of her and saying “you look beautiful, absolutely stunning.”

A) Gator loves her and I'm pretty sure Hugh doesn't... The man is gay I can feel it in my bones. Not just because he's an artist or French. The man is gay that's why he doesn't have sex with her or pay attention to her.
B) Like I would squeal with delight if it was like;
"And if any man should think these two should not be married," and in the back pew, much to Roy's horror Gator began to stand. "Let him speak now or forever hold his peace."
"I do." A hushed gasp went over the crowd and Daphne looks shocked, she had said that out loud.

I think I've told this to some of my lovely mutuals here before, but to me this song is really built like a rock song if that makes sense?? the build up and structure is so similar!! but it is also so HIP HOP and CATCHY and lyrics are ABSOLUTE ART. as a greek mythology hoe i had no choice but to stan bangtan sonyeondan. it is also widely known as natalia's wine song among my friends so you can say i like it a little.

I love this masterpiece beyond words. If I had to pick just one bangtan song to listen to forever, I'd possibly pick this one though PLEASE DON'T TELL MOM* (*my other bias). This song got me through a lot!! The lyrics are so beautiful and heartbreaking, and it hits even more after you know the context in which they were written. YOONGI MARRY ME as usual he is a genius he said so himself but also Hobi kills me every single time with his performance of the last verse. I have NEVER not cried watching a live performance of him rapping it. The emotions he gets across are... pardon my French but holy fuckity fuck.

speaking of my other bias... LISTEN. I love Filter as any other folk BUT if I have to pick just one out of Jimin's solo songs, it has to be this one. It has it all, beautiful performance, identity crisis vibes, stunning vocals of the baby himself, AND THOSE LYRICS TOO. It hits so much especially if you've had to hide yourself in one way or another, and it can be applied to so many situations - power of art and Park Jimin. also, in my mind, this one and bs&t are connected...? idk if by the vibes or the era, but I love both of them almost equally, though this one still hits harder. also, although the performance completes it very well and Jimin can express the emotions so well through movement (one of my very favourite things about him as a performer), it can easily stand on its own and it's still so captivating!!

This song is so beautiful in EVERY SINGLE WAY. The soft vocals, the longing, the lyrics!! It's such a good depiction of young love (or just very soft love, sort of 'too-good-to-be-true' love), NOT TO MENTION THE HARUKI MURAKAMI REFERENCE I SEE YOU KIM NAMJOON (and I love you). It might be my favourite track from the whole HYYH era actually though please don't ask me 'and what about [insert track] cause I WILL change my mind. The vocal line shines in this one, not only for their skill but PRIMARILY their emotional expression. I'm a big fan in case you haven't noticed??

I honestly love this song so much!! Not only is the concept beautiful and the performance is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING HAVE NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE (bangtan sonyeondan trendsetters), and even the mv is something you can watch multiple times in one go because it's so aesthetically pleasing, but also there is the song IN ITSELF. It's so raw and honest, and let me preach about the lyrics once again (KIM NAMJOON!!! CATCH THESE HANDS!!!) - it's such an amazing depiction of an artistic burnout, oh my god. the idea in itself that the first time an artist (or here more so a dancer) dies is when they no longer have energy to continue with their craft... IT'S SO POWERFUL.

this one is just always going to hit different, and even more so the live version. the lyrics are... I can't even stress it enough, but they might have altered something in my brain chemistry. The idealisation of youth, never wanting your best moments to end, but also knowing that there is no way to stop the time from passing - WOW. WOW. Also I especially love the lines about running endlessly towards your dream even if it hurts you - it just HITS SO HARD. Even though in terms of the way it's built, it's quite a simple song, it really gets the message across perfectly and I love it for its straightforwardness!!

Candy just be sending Cade texts during school complaining how boring it is without him and keeping him up to date on annoying kids and teachers lmao
but also positive stuff, like immediately letting him know when she got a good grade in French or a teacher told her she did a good job

Cade rolls his eyes at his phone, sticking it back into his pocket. A certain headsick, cotton Candy girl had been texting him all afternoon while he was stuck at work with his brother.
He chuckled under his breath as he went back to skinning the deer head he was working on. Demetri poked his head in through the back, checking in on his younger brother.
“I’m pleasantly surprised to see your almost finished” the older man commented.
“I’m not incompetent, you know this.” Cade glared at his brother.
“It was a compliment, but if you’re going to be hostile about it-“
“What do you want Sully, or did you come back here just to shadow me?”
Sully lets out a sigh.
“I was going to tell you perhaps I was too harsh the other day. You’ve shown initiative and have taken this first week of suspension quite well. All things considering.”
“But I had to go and run my mouth, got it. So what, now I have to work here when I’m back at school too?”
Demitri slowly pulls the clever out of his hand and places it flat on the metal table. Forcing the youngest boys attention to be solely on him.
“You done?”
Cade just nods, letting out a huff.
“A friend of mine brought it to my attention, that perhaps it would be beneficial for you to socialise more with other children your age. I didn’t have many friends when I was your age either, and it’s not fair of me to keep you locked up in here all day. You’re free to go.”
Cade fidgeted with his hands, missing the weight of the heavy knife in his palm.
“What’s the catch?”
“You help on the weekends, so I can spend more time with your niece. She’s acting up in school as well and refusing to speak English. Dipper requires more attention.”
“What is with these Americans, now it’s wrong to not want to speak this stupid language? Dipper didn’t do shit.”
“I’m not saying I agree with them, but we have to follow the rules if we want to stay here Cade, you know this. Stop being facetious, you’re plenty old enough to understand how these things work. You remember what father taught you?”
“Of course I do, he only beat it into me everyday.” Cade hissed, “fine. Can I go?”
Sully looked toward the doorway to dismiss the younger boy.
“Tell miss Walker I said hello.”
Cade paused in the doorway, not bothering to look back at his brother.
“How did you-“
“Your ears flush pink when you’re thinking about her- you’re not as immune to human emotions as you think…”
Cade grumbled under his breath, shoving the door open with force and ripping off his apron, throwing it down on the counter. Few people got under his nerves as consistently as his brother and came out of the interaction unscathed.
Cade decided it was best to lay low for a while, and stay on Sully’s good side. But it didn’t mean he couldn’t have some fun. He pulled out his phone to text the one person who was worth anything in this town.
Candy:
Those idiots deserved it, nice work by the way. The test and those goons. Study session in the park tonight.
It wasn’t phrased as a question and he hoped Candy would understand that. He wanted to see her tonight, but he knew much studying wouldn’t be done. Cade needed to decompress, his annoyance was on high and she’s the only thing that made a lick of sense to this boy.

Hello there,
It is not a thing for me to post on Tumblr, I stopped doing it because of lack of time and also I am not that creative either.
Today something very unexpected happened and I would like to share this time.
A boy asked my manager to talked to me. For a little context, I took a break for a few minutes from the kitchen to talk to a friend and while I was there my manager was explaining to him our restaurant concept of protecting the nature through a sustenibility strategy.
He noticed me and asked my manager about me.
She came and speak in french to me. She told me that the boy wants to see me and to talk to me. It was weird and confusing but I thought maybe is something about the business 😅
He seems a nice guy, he got courage to do that, I don't know if I would have to talk to a girl. He was polite all the conversation starting with a compliment that he noticed that I am beautiful and trying to find more about me 😅.
It was the first guy complimented me like that and telling that I am beautiful and it made me kinda happy for receiving a compliment and uncomfortable because I knew where the situation can go and because was very sudden.
The whole conversation I was thinking how to tell him that I like girls and turn him down slowly without affecting his initiative for future persons.
I am still in thinking mode 😅 wish me luck
It couldn't be a girl, a certain girl 😩
The best part of all of this is that now my colleagues from work knows that I love women ( they were teasing me afterwards and I came out to them so they would understand when there will be nothing more then a conversation) 😇😇 so nice to be out to my colleagues too 🫶

random Sinclair brother head canons bc this movie is all I have thought about for months and I need to put these out there’s so ppl can agree w me bc I’m right:
-Lester is a pro w spicy food, like he’s that one white guy that will outdo you as a bipoc on spice level and put you to shame.
-I just know he’d love Thai food 😔
-bo however…
-bo thinks he has same taste buds as Lester, or at least he convinced himself that he does
-everyone at the table will warn him about ordering the hottest spice level even the waiter will warn him against it but Bo’s a fucking show off and he’s gonna suffer the consequences
-this man cannot do spice, I’m talking a lvl two has him sweating.
-one bite out of anything lvl 4 or higher and his head is in his damn hands.
- Lester has definitely tried to get bo to do those hot chip and noodle challenges and it’s def ended w bo dry heaving on the floor or threatening Lester through chugs of milk
- imagine taking these mfs to a Starbucks drive thru, lester is in the passenger seat, already knows what he wants, a pink drink w light ice ✨ or a dragon fruit lemonade
-Vincent is an artist so it’s only natural that he’s gonna go w a matcha drink, def an iced matcha latte but if he wants smth else I see him drinking chai lattes
-don’t get me started on Bo 🙄 it’s not gay to have caramel in ur coffee, like he’s not bisexual
- is gonna talk about how he ONLY drinks his coffee black, a barista’s worst nightmare
-but if it’s hot he’s gonna pretend like he doesn’t want any of those “damn fruity little drinks” (please get him a refresher or lemonade)
- I feel like Lester would like old school reggaeton despite not speaking Spanish
- All artists have one female vocalist that they worship, Vincent’s is björk. Definitely has a vespertine vinyl that was stolen from a victim’s bag, he’s absolutely hoping to “find” a post vinyl to go with it.
-crediting my friend for this one but Lester would absolutely love Waffle House 😭 dinner and a show
- tbh I really don’t see bo listening to a lot of country if any, maybe some johnny cash and a little Reba but I feel like that’s pushing it. I think his taste in music mostly stays within the rock and metal genres 😔 probably has the smallest music range out of all three brothers, sorry y’all </3
-bo has a cd and cassette playlist that he only shows people he likes, def nabbed some rare merch and cds from victims and you’ll have to pry them from his cold dead hands to touch them
-yes ik we can assume he mostly like nu metal and 90s metal/rock from the HoW soundtrack but I feel like bo def likes Black Sabbath too
-bo let me put u on she wants revenge 😩
- no one talk to bo if smth goes wrong in the kitchen, just mind your business (he’s just like me FR)
- dude cracks an egg just to get eggshell bits stuck in there and as soon as Lester and Vincent hear him sigh 🏃🏼♂️🏃🏻♀️ they’re out the kitchen
- Vincent’s fave insects r praying mantises
-Lester has crazy grilling skills but is not allowed to cook for his brothers anymore bc they’ve been secretly fed raccoon meat too many damn times (2x)
- Vincent makes the best pancakes and bo makes the best French toast 😤
- while they have jonesy and she’s loved by all three I think bo has a secret soft spot for little dogs
- bring him a small dog and he’s gonna talk about how he “doesn’t want that rat” but he’s gonna be buying them little sweaters and a nice dog bed within a day. Will even have the dog in his own jacket when it’s cold.
-got help w my sibling for this one, but if they played any video games these would be their faves:
Bo: duke Nukem (unironically)and doom
Vincent: postal and bioshock, I think he’d also enjoy the game ver of I have no mouth and I must scream
Lester: Turok evolution, I wanna say he’s insanely good at fighting games, probably plays tekken 3 and 4, but he never memorizes any of the character’s names so if you ever ask him who plays it’s “oh uhh that one fella with the fucked up eye”

- imagine twitch streamer Lester 😭
-(sorry to any old school gamers my first console experience was a ps2 and I’ve never played on anything older </3 but I’d love to see yalls thoughts on their fave games considering they grew up in the 70s-80s)
- I already know horror movies don’t do a damn thing to the twins but imagine them playing a survival horror game together 😭 like the first outlast or even worse silent hill, them being in such a vulnerable and open position would freak them tf out
- the sibling arguing you’d hear over the ominous music coming from the tv bc bo refuses to let go of the controller and Vincent is angrily pointing and signing at bo like “no damn it you went the wrong fucking way you were supposed to go through the other door”
-bo will absolutely scream once or twice, Vincent will flinch violently or start panicking and trying to snatch the controller away from bo
- if you make them play just dance we all know Lester is gonna win
