In 2011, I noticed the first ad for @spartanrace and I immediately signed up for their mailing list, but only to admire what these athletes were doing? Why only admire you ask?!?! Because I had told myself, "There's no way! You can't do that!" Fast forward to 2013 when I jumped at the chance of joining a dear friend in Palmerton, PA for my 1st Sprint. I went back in 2014, and again in 2015. I figured it would be my "yearly activity" but the thing is, I got hooked! I went on to do 3 more races in 2015 which included Super, another Sprint, and a Beast for a Trifecta! 2016 was supposed to be a double Trifecta year, but I injured myself at my very first race, SoCal Super 2016, and it took me out for a full year. Many people told me, "You can't keep racing!" But I silenced their voices and only listened to mine saying "You CAN do this!" SoCal Super 2017 was completed with a brace on my knee and I'm not stopping there...if all goes as planned, I won't be ending with a double Trifecta, but with a quadruple Trifecta! In addition to attempting my first HH and HH12HR! Every time I step up to the Starting line, or on to a Mat, or up to the Barbell, I'm striving for perfect effort. Perfect Effort doesn't mean Perfect performance. It has little to do with winning or losing. It means doing your the best you can in each individual moment. If we hold ourselves to this winning and losing have no meaning. It us against the moments. If we strive for this there is no reason for shame or anger no matter the outcome.

I set myself up to do four Spartan Race events this last weekend. Friday night was the HH12HR when was unfairly DQ with a few teammates, can see it in a video posted. Life is not always fair. 🤷‍♀️Saturday, I went on to do the Sprint AG, then the HH later that evening. After we went for a celebratory dinner for @castellanos.jonny. Sunday, the Super.
