Even BellaOutlander on IG, who gets everything right away, and many others, posted AFTER me. So, I was def one of the first blogs to post the new pic of Sam with a fan at Glasgow airport. Also, I NEVER said Sam was flying with anyone. I said he could be flying OUT of Glasgow go be with a lady friend because he has done that for New Year's Eve on more than one occasion. That's not me taking "a huge leap," that's me going on proven past behavior aka facts. Yes, I saw that his friend, Marina Campbell flew into Glasgow yesterday. Would Sam himself go to the airport to pick her up? At this stage in his career, I would think he would have sent a car service to pick her up. But who knows, Sam is down to earth, and a good friend, so he may have picked her up. The jury is still out on that one. Marina has since posted pics on her IG hanging out in Glasgow. It looks like she's with a group of friends...let's see if any pics come out of Sam being among them. As for them spending New Year's Eve together in the past, I don't think that's happened very often. On January 3, 2022, Marina posted from a Chargers American football game in Los Angeles with Sam and Alex, so I guess they could have spent that New Year's together. I've been here almost 10 years, and I don't remember that happening very often though. They've definitely hung out together a lot: worked out together, traveled together, climbed munros together, but I don't remember many New Year's Eve together, but it could have happened. And maybe this year, Sam felt like staying in Glasgow, and they'll hang out for New Year's Eve. No sweat off my back. Whatever Sam wants to do and whoever he wants to do it with is fine by me...and always has been. As for my play on words he's going abroad to be with a broad, it was OBVIOUSLY a joke, tongue-in-cheek, haha. Anon, maybe if you pulled the stick out of your ass, you might find a sense of humor. fyi how long it takes me to post a m*a*s*h update makes it SEEM like i have a lot of self-control and am only watching one episode a day but that is incorrect. i'm watching everything like three times and rolling around in the details like a ferret let loose in the snow. i grew up in the vhs-recording 90s where you'd get two star treks and an x-file every week, and i'd get up at five in the morning to rewatch one of them before school every day AND tune in for every rerun and that has not changed. sometimes i get comments on fic like "wow your dialogue sounds just like them" YEAH it fuckin SHOULD some weeks i hear these people talk more than my own family. this is completely normal and healthy by the way

Yes I’m making this an entire poll because I’m super fucking indecisive and already being conflicted on doing multiple things so I’m gonna ask people. As of rn I only have two blogs, this current one and my art blog-which is @megdrawsiguess if you wanna follow-and while I don’t necessarily need more I’m low key considering it for mega man cause compared to all my other side interests I think it’s such a big interest that it needs to be separated. (That or maybe I’m just embarrassed posting on a mecha/retro anime blog when most people following me don’t know it despite it being based on a lot of that stuff, idk)

Hi Anon! The Hyrox Glasgow competition was all day. Sam DID compete, but it wasn't until later in the afternoon. Sarah Holden competed HOURS earlier. Sam didn't have to compete until way later, but he was there early to watch Sarah. We can see him here while she is competing. 👇 I mean, he's RIGHT THERE. ❤️

It's a 24 hour European clock, so she competed starting at 12:05 PM and ended around 13:28 PM, which is 1:28 PM.

And ended at 19:45, which is 7:45 PM.

So basically, Sam was there 6 HOURS before he had to compete. And we have PROOF he was right there when Sarah was competing earlier in the day. 👇

Ok ok so I got a chance to sort out my thoughts this update in server but ohhhh this update was DELICIOUS this conflict is sooooo good

See, this is sort of the fall out of all these various secrets starting to be dragged into the light. Before, they were left alone out of sensitivity. But now they're being discovered, and because of the already strained tensions, things aren't necessarily going well.

I LOVE the attention to detail with these reactions to the crystal. So, now, to really understand what's happening, the big thing to consider is what the Twilight Crystal is. It's, ultimately, a form of dark magic, ableit a strange offshoot of it.

Now, consider that its some form of strange dark magic that is stopping Twilight from being healed magically for reasons yet unclear. The reactions this is garnering are very interesting

One, they're excessively worried about anything related to any kind of dark magic. Understandable, when combined with their past involvements with this kind of thing.

Two, because this is new and not making sense, they're thinking back on their own experiences with strange and terrible dark magics. All of their past encounters are forefront in their mind, so when confronted with yet another instance of dark magic, they try and apply their knowledge to it.

So, in summary, this is what's happening with the main three in this update

Four who firsthand has seen what can happen when people mess with magic they shouldn't. His first thought is of Vaati, the Minish turned demon by a dark artifact. He knows that even people who weren't necessarily bad can turn bad when under something's influence, and now he's concerned about what that could do to Twilight.

Wind who tends to believe the best in people, so he doesn't agree with Four's assessment of corruption. What he is familiar though with is mind control/possession. He's thinking of Bellum, who forced him to fight a friend. What if this crystal allows a conduit for something to do that to Twilight?

Legend, who is the only one out of the Chain aside from Twilight who has firsthand experience with this curse. He knows what it does, how it works, what if feels like to be under its influence. After all, it happened to him too, as we're all very aware. He's also aware that the darkness can be purged by the full powered Master Sword. He's trying to express this to the others, but the high emotions of the moment...

I just really like the application of their experiences in the past to how they're percieving the current situation. What has up until now mostly been a boon (a variety of knowledge aiding in unique ways to combat enemies and help each other) has turned into a point of conflict, as they each feel their perspective is important and grate on each other as they feel as though the others aren't listening.

And, of course, as Sky said, those of the Hero's Spirit aren't a patient sort, and don't like sitting around doing nothing when someone is in need of help.

I absolutely loved your headcanon for zhongli! If possible can you make one for Alhaitham?

First off, I'm just going to put this trailer here because I actually think this is a good primer on Alhaitham in general and I just think it's really cool. It shows a lot more casual side of all the characters there.

I will preface this in that, I'm behind and only just finished the Nahida Archon quest and this is before I've played his solo quest, so somethings could change or be outdated. I'm just going off of the information that I have.

In a lot of ways, Alhaitham has a lot more potential in the burp category. He's incredibly intelligent, short tempered, and full of sass. Others may think he has a lack of emotion but I don't think that's the case really. He's blunt and straightforward and would rather be left alone or relax so he can read or think. I laugh that his least favorite food is soup because it's hard to eat it and read at the same time.

But Alhaitham is sarcastic often or at the very least sardonic and can even be petty when it comes to his roommate Kaveh or others. He's often the smartest person in the room and while he may not look like he's having fun, he definitely enjoys some jokes or a plan going well. Even if he doesn't always express it. He's mostly a no nonsense, cut to the chase kind of guy.

So how does all of this affect burps? Well in a lot of ways. First off, despite having a background in linguistics, he is well read in all manners of science and more. Not only that, but Alhaitham is a thinker, easily able to access the situation and take the appropriate course of action. Not only would Alhaitham know a lot about the digestive system, but he would know about anatomy, acoustics, and construction. So if there was an occasion where he needed or wanted to burp, he would have wonderful control.

Alhaitham would be able to make them sound however he wanted to, be it to suppress them if he was in the appropriate setting or to suddenly surprise everyone with one that would echo through the halls of the Akademiya. If he knew you were into burps, then heaven help you because he would show he's the best belcher around and tease you relentlessly. Or if someone else was burping, then whoops, he'd let one fly louder than that. All eyes would turn to him and he'd just respond with "Is there a problem?" Seeing his abs and his knowledge, I expect that he'd be able to burp on command and even be able to control his gas well enough that he could say whole phrases as a burp if he saw fit.

But Alhaitham can be an absolute brat when he wants to be. He definitely doesn't like to be told no or above playing tricks on others. If he's told he needs to have manners and thought the request was rude, you better believe your night is going to be full of burps that are rude and crass and interrupt your dinner. Or burping and blaming it on someone else, especially with his control might make it seem like someone else did it. You can also better believe if Kaveh complained about his belches, he's letting it loose all damn day to spite him. For fun. He's definitely one to pull a belch that would wake the dead in their house (potentially doing it by sneaking up behind Kaveh and letting it rip) with Kaveh scolding him like "The NERVE. Where are your manners!? How would you feel if I told everyone that the Scribe of Sumeru was so crass and vulgar as to burp so monstrously as to knock photos off the wall?" Then Alhaitham would come up close, burp in his face and say "Nobody would ever believe you," before leaving with Kaveh getting huffy.

Believe it or not, I think because of his voracious reading that Alhaitham has quite a bit of knowledge when it comes to lewd acts and knows how to wield things as emotional weapons. Kama Sutra the scholarly book lol. So he would definitely know how to flirt and entice someone with belches or know when to let one rip after a big meal and patting his stretched abs. He'd know at least on paper about kinks and would appropriately know how to make someone melt, even if it's just for his own amusement (with probably full denial afterward when confronted). Alhaitham is also not a bad actor or above roleplay when required when he wants to.

The other thing to mention that we see from the trailer is that he's not afraid to drink either. I think Alhaitham doesn't like to party much, preferring smaller gatherings, and doesn't let his guard down. But when it's something full of friends, then I think he's liable to eat too much and get drunk. He probably doesn't get drunk often, but when he does, all of what I've said goes out the window. I think he's mostly a sleepy drunk, falling asleep when he feels comfortable. Stuffed with food and drink, he might fall asleep right at the table or in his chair. I do think in this case, he's more likely to have a severe case of the hiccups, but mostly he'll let out small burps, not knowing what he's doing or rubbing his belly and trying to get them out. he may remember he's in good company and try to cover his mouth to suppress the gas, which only makes them reverberate in his chest and sound even deeper. It's possible he may do even more irresponsible things in this rare state like participate more in a burping contest with less inhibitions and control but it's hard to say.

The big difference is his bigger burps are low and airy, usually deep and loud with a lot of force but dry unless he wanted to be wet or after a meal. His drunken state or overly stuffed state is when he has small short burps that are higher pitched but wet and from true intestinal distress. But you better have some evidence of this happening because Alhaitham will deny that he was ever in a kind of state, and potentially use his connections to make sure any evidence you have are promptly destroyed.
