ngl the bit where coach singh playfully bumps mr ajayi and tells him to invite mr farouk and he eventually does it with a cute little smile and she's grinning sooo self-satisfied is the CUTEST bit of the whole show
because they're middle-aged adults and they're much more mature/put-together than the teen main characters, right? but they still grin bashfully and tease each other and get blushing and loving. just. idk man, to be an adult and still get mushy with feelings
Good day to everyone whose heads and hearts haven't left the Truham-Higgs vicinity since Thursday. Season 2 has us all in a tizzy, and luckily, the fandom's artists are right there with us.
(This is another one that goes out to everyone who has seen the second season. SPOILERS AHEAD. MILD BUT STILL SPOILERY. PLEASE BE WARNED.)
season 1 tao's "once you get into a relationship, friendships don't matter anymore" vs season 2 charlie writing "charlie ♡ tao" on the heart locket + "wait, isn't that for you and nick?" "no."
sorry yeah I'm just lil emotional over the portrayal of platonic love as something that can be just as worthy as romantic love. i'm okay.
"they were all idiots for assuming you were straight." friendly reminder that tao was talking right through the tv screen to YOU GUYS for what y'all did to kit it's literally a gut punch to see nick coming out handled with so much love in this show while the very fans of said show ruined this kid's life
I almost screamed out of joyment when Nick said "I hate you because you literally assaulted him" because even tho that's obviously what happened, it's never explicitly said in the comics and i just loved that someone finally said what happened with its correct words, it was so special to me
this narlie hug is the Bane of my existence i am crumbling to the floor as i type this Let me tell u why . it’s bc in this scene, for the whole week nick had to endure being forced to sit next to b*n in his revision period; endured his taunts and shitty attitude and the doubt he was trying to plant into nick’s mind, listening to him only think of nick’s boyfriend as an object and bully charlie behind his back. and what’s even better? his homophobic brother is home from uni, so nick practically gets the same treatment he does at school at home but instead of ben, it’s his own brother. on top of that, he’s stressed about his exams, trying to navigate coming out, and of course, charlie was grounded. but charlie snuck out for nick anyway to see him, and i just. you can FEEL how much that meant to nick; that charlie was there for him and willing to break the rules if it meant he could see nick even if he’d get in trouble. and then when they meet up, they hug and it’s the way you can see Nick hold Charlie so tight despite only having one arm to, burying his face into charlie’s shoulder and scrunching his eyes up tight— you just know nick needed that hug SO bad. he’s been having to put up with so much shit from other people, he’s been so stressed out, but none of that really matters when he has charlie there to hold and to talk to and to cheer him up.
tldr ; THAT BOY IS NICK’S HOME AS LONG AS CHARLIE IS THERE WITH HIM EVERYTHING IS OKAY OIUUUGGHH HE IS SO IN LOVE 🙁🙁🙁🙁
Isaac saying that he’s never had a celebrity crush during truth or dare is so real, I feel so seen, I’ve been in that situation so many times and every time nobody believed me and idk if it was just cause it wasn’t focused on very long but it didn’t really feel like nobody believed him so I’m happy he didn’t have to go through that but I just… it was such a good scene, thank you Alice for putting that in there
I don’t care what the reviews say: I love the teachers’ romance. Heartstopper is about queer coming of age, and Mr. Farouk’s queer coming of age was delayed. Many of us experienced this. His story belongs.
