Seeing Twitter users recommending the People Make Games documentary as a good way to get insight on the issue is so….
I know, I’m always extremely disappointed whenever I come across someone who thinks it’s the end all be all explanations regarding the Studio ZA/UM situation.
Recommending that video always comes with a heavy caveat from me that the person needs to stop around the 40 minute mark since the interviewer shows a very clear bias that’s unbecoming of a journalist.
Regardless, now that more people are finding out about these layoffs, which might take out members of the studio that have been there since the beginning, it could finally help smack some sense into those Twitter users that actually thought, FOR SOME REASON, Rostov, Kurvitz, and Hindpere were lying for shits and giggles rather than seeing what's ACTUALLY going on which is that the investors have a very obvious agenda against the real wronged party. Hopefully this'll also open their eyes to how the People Make Games video fed into this twisted narrative that Kurvitz was somehow at fault/responsible for the theft of his own IP, but that might be asking too much from their concrete brains. Here's hoping though!
the way HC grew up thinking he was weak, monstrous, repulsive, was told that he was cursed, and believed that he had to spend 800 years becoming better, stronger, more powerful, for XL, bc he wanted to protect XL -
but then he meets XL again, and shortly after becoming friends, XL tells HC that he doesn't care if HC is hideous, doesn't care if HC is a beggar or royalty, a ghost or human. later on, XL even tells HC that he doesn't care if HC is strong or weak, at his lowest or highest point, in worst or best moments - XL loves HC no matter what state HC may be in, he loves him simply bc he is HC.
and this unconditional love from XL is so important to HC, so healing for HC, and is exactly why it shaped HC so inexorably, both 800 years ago and 800 years later. bc XL truly is the kind of person who loves someone for who they are, not how they appear on the outside.
and HC fully reciprocates this unconditional love by loving XL no matter if XL is the god-pleasing crown prince or the broken husk of a man wearing bwx's mask trying to take revenge. HC returns this unconditional love by repeating XL's words back to him, what matters is you, not the state of you.
fingolfin is so funny he's like "I'm going to be the image of calmness and duty and rationality in the face of fëanor's impulsive madness" and then in a fit of reckless passion goes and has the wildest ballsiest most insane death imaginable
I always thought this line was about Thomas's dying moments but what if there's more to it?
Thomas, very noticably, barely moves after he dies. He lifts his head to look at the others but that's pretty much it. His reaction, of course, could be the result of shock - the pain from his wound, the realisation that he's dead and ghosts are real and he's one of them, and the pain of Isabelle's absence are quite a lot to deal with, after all - but I wonder if perhaps Kitty's words imply that Thomas stayed under that tree even after he died. At that point he still believed Francis was going to fetch Isabelle so why wouldn't he continue to wait for her?
So imagine him sitting under that tree next to his body, gazing towards the house with hopeful eyes. Imagine the minutes ticking by, turning into an hour. Imagine the other ghosts urging him to come inside and when he doesn't, leaving him there. Imagine the flare of hope inside his chest when someone finally comes, and the disappointment when he realises that it's only the servants. Imagine him watching them carry his body away and hearing them call him a fool. Imagine him staying behind, still waiting, still hoping for Isabelle to come. Imagine the sun setting and night falling and it dawning on him that she won't. Imagine him getting to his feet after all these hours and finding his way to Robin's nook because he can't bear to go into the house and face Isabelle there. Imagine him curling up on the bench and waiting for the sun to rise. Imagine him returning to the tree the moment it does on the off chance that Isabelle might want to say goodbye to him after all.
what the hell did they put into sam winchester, because I don't even do the whole "babygirl" thing, but that's my Girlfriend. yes, the seven-foot man.
edit: to avoid misimpression, I still do not do that, being girlfriend material is a different thing. there is probably a lot of overlap, but still, scientifically, it is different.
second edit: sam is girlfriend, dream is babygirl, gerard way is both. there you go.
still can't believe ecthelion died impaling a balrog with the spike in his helmet. in a fountain. literal secksiest character in the entire silmarillion thrashing about in the water with his bejewelled armour going down fighting and killing a demon with his phallic murder helmet
