My Headcanons for the Strawhats: (Monster Trio)

Luffy:

- Low-key has REALLY bad abandonment issues (see him telling Ace he keeps following him into a dangerous forest bc it makes him feel less alone, Sabo's 'death', Saboady, Marineford, etc)

- Autistic

- When he relaxes/sleeps his body will become super slack an his arms an legs will spread out all over

- HATES the cold and his body hurts when it's too cold out (rubber breaks easily when frozen)

- Will drink but is superrrrrrr picky about booze

- Has very green eyes an no one can convince me otherwise

- Love language is Physical touch (He bites people, affectionately)

- (Based on my Headcanons that Luffy is Brazilian and Robin is Peruvian) His first language is Portuguese an if he forgets a word he'll ask Robin to translate

- Favorite color is red (any shade)

- Likes collecting shiny rocks/pretty sea shells

- Is the most emotionally intelligent person on the crew an has really good observation skills but takes most things at face value/doesn't question them bc he can't understand why someone wouldn't want to show/say exactly what they mean

- If he cries or gets embarrassed enough to blush he'll cover his face with his hat

- Likes when Nami/anyone paints his nails but can never sit still long enough to get them done nicely

- Ambidextrous

- Knows a lot about bugs and can rattle off facts about them for hours

- Really really good at guessing games to the point everyone thinks he's cheating somehow

- Has stretch marks alllll over

- Eats so much bc his stomach stretches no matter how much he eats so he never really feels 'full'

- Has HATED Garp ever since he did nothing to help during Marineford

Zoro:

- Has dimples but he's insecure so he tries hiding them

- Everyone thinks he has green eyes but I think he has brown eyes

- His love language is Acts of service

- Extremely touch starved (if someone plays with his hair he is passing out IMMEDIATELY)

- Secretly loves that (other then Robin) Chopper always goes to him first for everything

- Really loves forests, if they land on an island with one he's most likely heading there first

- Unofficial Official first mate of the strawhats

- When it comes to keeping the crew safe he trusts Robin & Sanji the most (other then the Captain ofc) because he knows they won't hesitate to kill someone they're fighting

- Nami is like a sister to him

- Is actually REALLY good at math an confused tf out the crew when they found out (is now in charge of keeping track of the amount of necessities on the ship or how much they need for a certain amount of time)

- Will forget how long he's been going when training an won't realize til someone stops him

- Gets worried/nervous anytime he watches someone walking down stairs

- Knows a shit ton of knife/sword tricks (can absolutely swallow a sword)

- Doesn't like showers bc he hates water on his face

- Is willing to follow Luffy's orders without question (Post time skip, Pre time skip -specifically before thriller bark- Zoro would still question Luffy)

- One of the few Straw hats that hasn't dated anyone (Sanji had some flings w/ regulars at Baratie, Usopp w/ Kaya, Nami had a few flings here an there, Franky had been with a few people back on water 7 and Brook had been with a few people back when he was alive)

- His favorite color is Sage green/Gold

- Taught Chopper some sword fighting techniques (Brook also joined in an taught Chopper some of his moves)

- Loves taking naps with Chopper (Chopper is low-key his favorite person on the crew)

- He an Robin have little competitions to one up eachother with gifts or things for Chopper bc they both wanna be his favorite >:)

Sanji:

- Loves the ocean/thinks it's the most beautiful part of nature ever

- Either is a Queer Cis guy OR a Queer Trans woman<3

- Ace was absolutely his gay awakening but he thought it was a 'fluke' til he stayed on the momorio island and accepted himself

- Sees it as a HUGE compliment when anyone on the crew gains weight bc it reaffirms he's doing his job well :)

- Loves loves loves all animals and won't let anyone hurt them (including rodents/other "gross" animals)

- Has insectophobia/arachnophobia and OCD

- HATES having anything covering to much of his face/head bc of the mask Judge had him in

- Pulls on his hair when frustrated/angry/overwhelmed/etc.

- French is his first language

- Knows how to figure skate, do ballet and learned gymnastics

- His love language is Words of affirmation

- Writes letters to Zeff at least once a week (after the events at WCI he started addressing Zeff as Dad in his letters)

- Is secretly writing his own cookbook

- Has anisocoria, effects his right eye (anisocoria can easily be confused with heterochromia. It gives the appearance of two different eye colors, but the variation only relates to pupil size — which can cause one eye to look darker than the other — not the actual eye color.)

- Sanji an Usopp are actually really close (both their moms passed bc of sickness both had shit dads plus soba mask + sogeking friendship is superior)

- Sees Zoro as a brother (their dynamic is like the eldest brothers who try to compete over everything)

- Sees Robin as a mother figure but low-key feels guilty about it

- Told Nami everything about his past after WCI and they're really close now

- Sees Luffy a bit as an obnoxious younger brother

- When it gets really hot he'll let Chopper sit inside/in front of the freezer for a little bit

HIIIIII so i think the thing abt koby specifically is that he’s 100% shooting for the TOP, he wants to be luffy’s EQUAL, and as garps successor (and garp was the only one who could ever keep up with roger) he stands as close to plausibly achieving this goal as anyone does… as much as you can when your rival is **nika**, anyway, lol. zoro needs no explanation but he’s also luffy’s right hand you know— koby isn’t!

anyway i think the fact that all three of them (including zoro, who is clearly fond of koby even with their limited canon interactions) really absolutely sincerely believe in the force and sincerity of their own dreams and strength kind of drives their character dynamic… their friendly sparring wrecks islands ya know. i think their romantic tendencies kind of sync up in that way bc they’re all freaks of nature too though if you gave koby flowers he’d also tip over and blush to death. if you gave luffy flowers he may eat them.

luffy is at the absolute center of this polycule bc koby and zoro were approximately equally besotted within like the first hour of knowing luffy tho i think “dynamic of two guys who know fuck all” is deeply funny like left alone in a room together zoro could convince koby to have a few beers djdjdjjd… all three of them are doing unspeakable things with CoC also also. helmeppo is so fucking embarrassed he knows these people.

how they deal with love, op men edition

+ feat ace, benn, drake, gaban, katakuri, killer, king, kuzan, law, lucci, mihawk, sengoku, smoker, shanks, rayleigh, thatch and zoro

+ note i know this post won't be very successful bc my blog is dead, but i really wanted to thank you for the 1.4k followers and for the 1 year of this blog, it would not have been possible without you and your love. here are some little writings about all (they are not all there but it does not matter) the characters i love! i hope you will like it. thank you again for your support, you're all so dear to my heart and you're all incredible.

+ tw not all the relationships painted here are healthy. i'm thinking particularly of king and lucci.

♧ ace is simply happy to feel love for you. he feels how his feelings warm him up from the inside, as if a small ember had been ignited into an immortal blaze. since his departure on the seas, everything ace feels is multiplied tenfold, he feels everything very strongly and he knows very quickly that he loves you and that you are doing him a lot of good. it is not the reason why he will chase after you, or that he will smother you with an excess of love. he will wait, letting things happen, enjoying his life of freedom and the fire you had lit in him. he is not in a hurry now, he has all the time he needs to see that he has spread his fire in your heart.

♧ benn never takes love lightly and certainly not for granted. he sincerely believes that no one should play with the feelings, with the hearts of others. he makes it a point of honor to never mislead the heart of his partners and therefore to be always very clear with his intentions. of course, there have been women in his life - especially in his bed - but none of them have been able to grasp him as you do, to be on the same wavelength enough for his heart to contact yours. it's as if his heart never picked up enough to really get in touch with the heart of others, and then all of a sudden, the frequency was restored and he picked you up as clear as day.

♧ drake is actually very sensitive to falling in love. he's not a romantic, or expecting a perfect, harmonious relationship. he's just very in tune with what he's feeling, he's good at introspection and understanding what he's feeling in real time. this makes him weak around you, and he becomes a bit of a blushing mess around you. that said, it's helpful when it allows a declaration from you to relieve the tension that the situation had created on the poor man's shoulders. he feels a little bad for reacting like that, it makes him lose all credibility but it's little compared to what this love brings him. he feels good and comfortable with you, as if your relationship and what he feels flowed naturally and that what he has now has no equivalent for him on the seas

♧ gaban is very excited by all that is flirting, smooching and of course what comes after. he has many partners, most of them one-night stands, and has never really been in love. this is not something that costs him, and he is quite comfortable with his situation. however, if he should meet someone he likes, not only physically and especially on a long term, gaban will never get tired of these sensations, of his heart jumping and of the happiness that seems to flow in his veins.

♧ katakuri takes a long time to feel something for someone. attraction comes easier than anything else though, but it's as if his heart is too far away, too buried in his gigantic chest, as if it's so lost to spread feelings of love throughout his body. but when it does, every bit of him feels it, it's as if every bit of his skin is getting an electric shock. it's not unpleasant, it's quite welcome, as it's been drifting around in a desert of love for too long.

♧ killer is like a highly trained warrior in the face of emotional hardness. he lets very little get to him for a long time, and especially in love. he has one-night stands, which he always leaves strictly in that box, never giving a chance to his partners to find a chink in his armor to reach his heart. but if one day you are lucky enough to reach him, either by a miracle or because you are an extraordinary person, then killer is caring, warm and unfailingly loyal to you. he will never forget the way you keep his heart warm, as if you are constantly making sure that his inner flame never goes out again.

♧ king is probably the worst person to talk about love. he doesn't see the point or the benefits. he finds it absolutely boring, and not at all touching. if he ends up feeling something special for you, he will automatically put it down to physical attraction and he won't dwell on his feelings, on his desire to be close to you and to make sure you are well and happy. however, he won't be able to resist for very long what resonates in his heart, and he will get much closer to you. his situation will be easier to accept if he gets to know you as a person (and not as an object, right?), and even more so if he feels that the attraction is mutual.

♧ kuzan is probably the most laid-back man on grand line when it comes to relationships. he likes to flirt, to court the beautiful women he meets along the way, like a bird chirping under a window. he gives away his time easily, despite his cumbersome job. however, no lasting relationship comes out of his behavior, something he has learned to accept over the years. but his heart gets exhausted, investing in lost causes, in people who leave him white as a sheet in front of the empty bed. then, when he meets your spirit, your inexhaustible love, his heart starts to dance, to beat faster and stronger, as if to signal that you are the right person. then, he will make the last effort, the last of the first step towards you, sincerely hoping that he and his heart will be rewarded

♧ law is quite aware of what's going on in his heart, and he's very careful about it, trying to filter out feelings and emotions he doesn't need (like the friendship he feels for luffy or the strong need to be close to you). love is not something he takes lightly. if you've been able to penetrate his heart, then expect to stay there for a long time. the only reason he would reject you after that is if you betrayed him. but it's a tough business trying to get his attention, let alone his love. he doesn't reject all his feelings, but he does save himself from unnecessary pain. he doesn't want to be put off such a wonderful feeling because of bad relationships and experiences. that's probably one of the reasons why he puts up so many barriers between himself and others

♧ lucci is a dangerous man when it comes to love. it is something foreign to him and rather abstract. he does not resent it and may even see it as a weapon of manipulation. if he feels some attraction, some mutual attractiveness between him and you, then he will try to use that feeling, and then love if the relationship develops, to his advantage. he will have no qualms about using it against you if it serves his purpose. however, if you pose no potential threat, he may take pleasure in what he feels deep down. he may find himself smiling sweetly at the thought of you, finding the thought of hurting you more and more unbearable.

♧ mihawk is never really closed to love. if he likes someone, he will take his time, gauge the level of their feelings, their importance in his heart, and act accordingly. just because he is a lonely, often innexpressive and disinterested man does not mean that the swordsman does not feel. on the contrary, he loves it. he likes to feel his body warm up in the coldest room of his castle just by thinking about the person who has his heart. it is an arduous undertaking, a long way but the reward is priceless.

♧ sengoku is not familiar with love. of course, he has already experienced the family form of love with Rosinante, but never seriously in the romantic sense. he is dedicated to his work, the rest can wait and is generally unimportant. also, he knows what love can do to a man, how it can transform him and drive him crazy. he knows that too much feeling can end up overflowing someone's heart and inevitably hurt them. he prefers, no matter what he feels, to curb the progression of what he may be feeling. unfortunately, the more he tries to curb them, the stronger and more powerful they become.

♧ smoker doesn't attach much importance to love. he takes things as they come. if he has to fall in love with someone, he'll do it without resisting. because he knows it's useless to do anything against something as strong as love. however, like any self-respecting marine, he'll never put his sentimentality before his work. he'll only indulge himself outside of the scope of his duties, because mixing work and feelings has never done him any good.

♧ shanks has a lot of fun with his feelings. it is, in his opinion, the best fuel in life. it punctuates every decision, every urge that takes him every day. he loves meeting new people, seeing new faces, and falling for the ones he likes. however, despite his fickle desire, he has not experienced much of true love. the kind that grips the guts, burns the stomach, and forces euphoria and sadness. when he feels it for the first time, shanks will welcome the feeling with tenderness and hope. he knows he's playing a dangerous game, but that it's worth it. that you're worth it. and shanks doesn't shy away from any challenge.

♧ rayleigh is not known as the most faithful man. in fact, he respects the feelings he has but does not want them to get in the way of his freedom whatsoever. he does not want them to stop him from going elsewhere, experiencing more and more things, visiting new horizons with new people. this does not mean that he will love all his encounters, because when his heart is taken, it will stay that way for a long time. all his tenderness, his sweetness, his malice and his benevolence are directed towards the person he loves. he is experienced, and knows how to manage his feelings, so that they don't spill over everywhere and stain his intentions. he simply likes to have freedom as far as carnal pleasure goes.

♧ thatch loves to flirt with everyone. he loves to feel the excitement of that moment of cozying up to the other person, of being captured. despite this, he doesn't fall in love easily. and that's good for him, because it would stop him from flirting all over the place, according to his beliefs. when his feelings are aroused for someone, he tends to focus only on that person. the rest of the world loses some of its taste and appeal if he misses the person who holds his heart. he doesn't like to be emotionally dependent, so he tries to moderate his feelings, so that there is enough room for everyone in his heart.

♧ zoro doesn't understand right away that what he feels is love. in fact, he is very wary of it and can sometimes push away the person who has managed to win his heart of marimo. he is not used to feeling so good, so connected to someone. that feeling of satisfaction after spending a moment with the lucky person (you of course) is something powerful, which feels like a punch the first time. he even thinks it's a disease. but it's with time, and the moments spent together, that zoro understands and accepts his situation. he won't rush either, he'll just enjoy what this situation gives him and won't bother with it until it becomes serious between you (that is when his stupid brain will realize the reciprocity).

Honestly I ship all of the WBP with Ace excluding Pops (And Teach but honestly man was never a WBP anyway the traitor!!!)

But yea MarcoAce is my number one for sure I just need to figure out how to draw Marco consistently and then we gucci - MarcoAce is 👌🏽 hits that spot for me, the older more mature one hesitating in falling in love but the younger one Ace chasing them pursuing them actively

Like I personally feel Sanji would struggle with loving a man and all the toxic masculinity stuff he cornered himself into, bottom sanji isnt a bad thing and i like the fight he always goes through in letting zoro take control but YOU KNOW WHAT they switch I like healthy zosan sanzo whatever ignore what i was trying to say lol - Omega Zoro tho sets me on fire i love it so much

UsoppSanji - very cute ok I think they are like a basket of kittens - although ZoroSanjiUsopp is UH GREAT??? Sanji Ace - again i totally see the appeal, I also love the idea of all the strawhats having a crush on Ace but thats it just a crush - idk I can’t see Sanji doing one night stands or long distance relationships - he seems like the kind of guy who needs daily affection, love and affirmations and Ace can’t give that to him imo, i think theyre cute and compatible but because of Sanjis nature i dont see it working out, and I dont like long distance relationships due to originally trying so hard in one myself and basically getting neglected (im not saying im projecting but Sanji probably would feel the same, not that Ace is neglectful but it takes time to send letters and travel to see each other on the grandline) - SO TLDR; definitely cute but not for me

- Hard no ships - I dont really have any? Love is love and love what you love haha but I gotta say

Anything with Teach - is he even paired with anyone?

Doflamingo with either Cora or Law is frankly upsetting - he’s a horrible person and I can’t personally see how he’s attractive, he’s repulsive and seeing noncon stuff with him and Law or Crocodile etc is gross
