steven moffat wouldn't cast a woman as the doctor because doctor who is also "for people who voted for brexit" and the "daily mail-reading viewers". like he was actively catering to conservative and right-wing audiences and thought a female doctor was too progressive.
now rtd is back and is so unapologetic and intentional about the characters being queer and telling conservatives to fuck off about it. doctor who is healing.

Angst/comfort idea: Kid Nagito looking in the mirror at his hair some time after being treated when the first signs of his lymphoma appeared. He had to go bald for a little while, but the treatment was successful. However now that his hair has begun growing back, the first hints of faded white are showing. His mom and dad come in to offer some comfort. Apologizing for being a bit neglectful and promising to make it up to him. With a family trip overseas to San Cristobal...
being Nagito is suffering

I am once again reminding everyone that
"I think that character will regret that decision; I can see the bad consequences coming, and if they were a real person I would yell at them." (you were engaged enough with the characters that they feel like real people capable of making their own choices)
"I would have liked the story better if the character had made a different decision" (a matter of personal preference with no bearing on the quality of the writing itself, or even whether you agree with the decision that was made in-universe)
and "Given what we've seen from this character previously, the writer having them make that decision broke my immersion" (an actual critique)
are all different statements and do not mean the same thing, even if they can all be phrased as "I don't like that the character made that decision"

Meraaaa, im habing too much brainrot over ur fics 😢
Imagine Cater puts it in for the first time and he gets you preg on the first try. He's a mess but don't worry! Transfer med student Kalim knows juuuust how to take care of you! He has a ton of siblings afterall! Kalim knows just what to 'feed' the baby to keep them healthy while they're in ur belly. Cay kun is just happy to finally settle down with his first love, unaware of the cum dripping down her legs as she leaves her makeshift appts in kalim's dorm room. Everyone knows whats going on and instead of helping out poor Cay out, they ask Kalim to be let in on it 😖
AAAAAAAAA med students and roommates Kalim and Riddle who take such good care of you when Cater's off partying, neglecting you solely because he's struggling to cope with this new, life-altering circumstance. How can he continue to be cool, collected Cay if he's got a baby on the way? So not his style! But he'll warm up to the idea eventually. He just has to get the shock out of his system first (and work up the courage to break the news to his family and, unfortunately, his sisters. Though knowing how evasive Cater can be, he'll probably stretch the truth for as long as he possibly can just to avoid confronting the matter at hand).
Kalim is always so sweet. He has lots of healthy and delicious snacks prepared for each of your visits. Riddle is very level-headed and logical; very textbook, but still cordial and kind. It doesn't take Riddle long to realize Kalim's fucking you when he starts to put context clues together. At first he thought it was wrong to do such a thing behind Cater's back, but Kalim tells him he's just helping you out. Nothing wrong with helping friends, right? Besides, you and Cater aren't even together and he's not very present, is he? Someone has to take care of poor, cute, pregnant you! Riddle tells himself he ought to be the better person here and put a stop to Kalim's mischief before it spirals out of control. But then the next time you come in for a "check-up" you're spreading your pussy for him and he's sliding in and it feels so warm and wet and good inside, and suddenly being the better person doesn't really matter.

how would dabi be with a reader whos very extroverted? its kinda like a black cat bf and golden retriver gf ngl-
dabi x fem!reader
many might think that he wouldn’t like someone extroverted or like– not necessarily extroverted, but more open than he is about things and feelings. i think though that dabi would be more than fine with a gf who’s open about her feelings, actions, is cheerful and spontaneous. i honestly think spontaneity is one of the traits about someone that attracts him a lot if not the most, especially since never in his life he has seen someone being like that towards him and it would be a new feeling to dabi that makes him excited and always look forward to talk or interact with you.
when walking around and you’re just super excited while looking your surroundings dabi would never try to ruin your fun, he just walks right after you and admires the way you talk so happily about things you like and find interesting, smitten by how bright the world seems when he’s looking your way. it makes his lips naturally curl up into a smile as he nods while moving closer to your figure, an arm surrounding your shoulders gently as he keeps listening carefully at what you say, yet he never looks away from your face, not even for a moment.
you’re shining so brightly in his eyes that he just can’t seem to be able to advert them.

Normal Batman fans: I don't want to engage with parts of canon in which my fave is an abusive asshole. I choose to engage with other stories instead, and I ignore stories that I dislike.
Nasty toxic Batman fans: Ooh, Bruce is being totally gross again, don't mind if I do~
Good Dad Bruce™ stans: Yes, I fully acknowledge that every single one of Bruce's kids is deeply—at times suicidally—traumatized by his parenting failures in canon, but he is NOT a bad parent! Bruce LOVES his family. Sometimes COMPLICATED PARENTS make their children feel WORTHLESS and ISOLATED, and then don't do anything to fix it! It's totally NATURAL, Bruce is just a COMPLICATED parent! He's COMPLICATED! Bruce LOVES his family. COMPLICATED, I say! NOT ABUSIVE! Would an abusive parent put a hand on his child's shoulder in a vague display of warmth once every few years??? Hm??? Yeah, I DIDN'T THINK SO, YOU STUPID ABUSE VICTIMS!! Bruce LOVES his family. He does nice things—why are you ignoring all the nice things that he's done? He is just an IMPERFECT person, he has made some teeny tiny mistakes repeatedly with 5+ separately acquired children over a twenty-year period. Bruce is just a regular IMPERFECT human being—which means that you critics are the UNREASONABLE MONSTERS imposing PERFECTIONIST standards on a poor innocent middle-aged baby adult man! Bruce LOVES his family. How could we expect exceptionally privileged hyperintelligent parents NOT to regularly use their position of power to make 4-6 children feel inadequate, unsafe, and alone?? What ridiculously high standards! Bruce LOVES his family.

Had an interesting idea. You may have noticed that in this post I implied that there may be at least one non-game-based living Character-Level server somewhere out in the digital multiverse that nobody knows about yet because they think it's impossible for one to form without outside influence. Well, I figured out which one it is: A universe made from a pirated collection of every official episode, movie, short, music video, and even scans of the dubiously canon IDW comics run of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, along with any other official media I can't think of at the moment. Because I can. Whoever owns the collection doesn't know that they have a real live Equestria at their fingertips because the actual media storage is a layer above the living universe (or universes, what with Starswirl's Mirror Portals), so watching/reading the stuff doesn't affect what's happening down there or vice-versa, and the characters also don't know that they're digital beings brought to life by the love of a fan.
If anyone, be they Program, Virus, Anomaly, or Character, were to go there they'd be changed into a form that fits the universe (so a pony/dragon/griffon/etc. choose whatever fits best in the main world, a human with the same color scheme as their Equestria form in the Canterlot High world) Because Mirror Portal Magic, though Code-Level entities can change back to their usual form if they prefer. When they leave they go back to normal. If any locals ever managed to go to other digital universes they'd stay in their usual forms because Most Universes Don't Do That. It's similar to the Enforced Art Styles of the Cats are Liquid and Fairly Oddparents universes, though FiM and CaL are obviously more drastic than FOP.
The first major characters to find out about this are Ozymandias and Garyboy, who stumble upon it at some point post-release and decide to use it as a base of operations, on the grounds that 1) Nobody else knows this world exists, 2) if anyone else did find it they'd never expect those two to be living there, and 3) the whole transformation thing means they can hide in plain sight. When they're there Garyboy is a purple-and-green pegasus with a black-cupped plunger for a cutie mark, while Ozzy is a vaguely serpentine dragon and his maneuver form is a Kirin. They later find out that prolonged exposure to Equestria's magic has had side-effects, namely that they can now use their Equestrian Form abilities (weather magic for Gary, fire breath, flaming rage form and unicorn magic for Ozzy) in their normal forms. That'll be fun to show off to their enemies.

ㅤi'm realizing it's been a while since i've explained why byan is, you know, even called byan in the first place. i feel like a lot of my mutuals probably have no idea, so lemme change that real quick!
ㅤbyan's actual, legal name is yeong-hwan byun — or byun yeong-hwan but, because they exist in a primarily english-speaking setting, they're in the habit of saying and writing it the western way. that is, with their given name first, followed by family name rather than the other way around, as a korean name typically would be.
they've always hated their name. in part, it's because it was given to them by the mother who didn't even want to keep them. the fact that she's never been in their life, yet they're stuck sharing her surname is something they've always despised. mostly though, they hate yeong-hwan because it's long. it's boring. they have to correct people on the pronunciation an exhausting number of times. and, of course, it's masculine. nothing about it has ever felt right to them.
by the time they were about six, they were desperate for something different. so, since no one else was giving them a nickname like they were secretly hoping would happen once they started elementary school, they took it into their own hands. taking the 'by' from byun and the 'an' from the end of yeong-hwan, they crafted the name byan for themself. it was shorter, it was cuter, it was unique and not inherently gendered — it felt so much more like them. it still does. they've been using it ever since, demanding that anyone who interacts with them on a regular basis use it over their "real" name, and they often threaten violence on anyone who doesn't. —and yet at the same time, most of the people they meet outside of school have no idea that they even have any name other than byan.

Struggling to pick an ending w the whole Gale/crown thing because I feel like he could be a good God. And that I'd rather he have it than Mystra or any of the other options. He could, in fact, do so much with it.
Like I understand that it's a repetition of Gale's folly and his overambition. And depending on how he acts about it (like if he says "I could do good with it" versus "I could be powerful") my opinion could change, but recognising that you don't HAVE to be good doesn't mean that he shouldn't help people EVER, right? If the alternative is leaving the crown in the ocean, why not let Gale take it?
And then also just from a romance plot perspective, I don't know if he'll go back to dying from the orb if he loses the tadpole, but if the crown would keep him alive then I'd want him to take it? I've seen people frame the orb as being "the consequences of his actions" but if those actions were taken because he was trying to prove himself to his teacher/Goddess/lover (ew) then I don't think he deserves to die or continue suffering when there's a way to cure him. He could be a good God. Or even just happy and alive. Ambition as a whole isn't a bad thing, Gale's was bad because he was self-destructive and put it above connecting with others, like how Astarion's is bad because it comes at the expense of others.
I mean I guess if Gale decides to leave Tav when he gets the crown then that is a symptom of destructive ambition. But my ideal outcome would be him getting the crown and studying it, potentially surviving from it, and maybe eventually gaining strength he could use to help people? And is that really a bad thing? It feels like the Gale plotline wants you to talk him down from being powerhungry, and then talk him down further into apathy and a fucking. House-husband lifestyle.
I would understand if the game is trying to say that power corrupts, but in a world that already has so many Gods I feel like it doesn't apply as much as it does in the real world. If Mystra the Groomer can be a God, why couldn't Gale? Especially since he wants to you know. Help the helpless
But I don't know if this opinion is normal or if I just also have the same Must Be Good And Useful compulsions lol.
