incandescent feelings overflow!
in which — you found yourself “forced” to dance with a man that delights in outmaneuvering you at every turn / you (really) hate aventurine
pairing — aventurine x fem!reader (no pronouns used but reader is mentioned to be wearing a gown once, otherwise it’s still written w gn reader in mind, tagging fem js incase)
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆  — wc: 1.4k, enemies to lovers but it’s js forced prox w tension, denial is a river in egypt, silly aven calling you love every other sentence, anyway reblogs are much appreciated! please enjoy <3
based on this!
you have every reason to despise aventurine. ever since you first crossed paths, he has been nothing but a constant source of frustration and irritation. It isn’t just his smug demeanor or his irritating charm— it’s the way he seems to take pleasure in ruining everything you work for.
it's as if fate’s playing a cruel joke on you, your encounters never stopped. each time, it feels like being dragged into a twisted dance orchestrated by some malevolent force. and in every dance, aventurine was always one step ahead, always ready to trip you up and leave you stumbling in his wake. you’ve always vowed to turn the tables; to become the one who led the dance, who stayed ahead of the game.
but just when you think you have him figured out, he throws you off balance with those vexingly sweet pet names. "love," one of his favourites. his voice dripping with honeyed charm; a calculated move, specifically designed to distract you. and despite your best efforts to resist, you find yourself unable to ignore the stirring of something within you.
aventurine, this name, like the man it belongs to, fills you with a seething, visceral hatred that coils in the pit of your stomach like a venomous serpent. it doesn't make it better that tonight you actually have to dance with him.
you move through the crowd, searching for him even as you try to appear disinterested. then you see him, standing tall and confident, his gaze meeting yours across the room. he makes his way towards you, and you find yourself holding your breath.
“we meet again…” he says, stretching his hand out, offering a handshake as if this is a cordial reunion between old friends.
you stare at his outstretched hand, feeling a surge of indignation rising within you. he’s acting so nonchalant after everything he’s done. every fiber of your being screams at you to refuse, to turn on your heel and walk away, to show him that you will no longer be drawn into his twisted games.
though despite your better judgement, you find yourself hesitating. aventurine’s hand hangs in the air, waiting for your response, and for a moment, you're frozen in place, torn between your pride and the inevitability of the situation.
with a sigh, you finally relent, placing your hand in his with a forced politeness that belies the turmoil raging beneath the surface.
whatever. this will be a great chance to get some information out of him anyway. (you convince yourself)
aventurine holds a firm grip, his touch sending a shiver down your spine; and you can't help but resent the way he seems to revel in your discomfort.
tonight may be a seemingly innocent dance, but it's one you refuse to lose. and if he thinks he can best you with a simple handshake, he's sorely mistaken. you’ve prepared for this moment meticulously, concealing a dagger beneath your gown as a precaution. you knew aventurine would be here, and you anticipated the dance that would inevitably follow.
just as you’re lost in your thoughts, he catches you off guard by retracting his hand, pulling you close. almost stumbling over your feet, you find yourself drawn into his embrace, his arms encircling you as he leads you onto the dance floor. as if on cue, the tempo picks up, and a hush falls over the crowd, the sound of whispered conversations fading into the background, all eyes turning to the dance floor. there's a palpable tension in the air, but you ignore it as the rhythm of the dance carries you away.
“so, mr aventurine, what brings you here? surely it's not just to exchange pleasantries.” you ask as you stare into his eyes, trying to gauge his intentions.
“oh drop the formalities love, you truly wound me…” he replies teasingly, dragging out the endearment with a smirk.
you roll your eyes and ignore the way he completely disregards your initial question, opting to save the interrogation for later. there's a strange sort of chemistry between you, if you can even call it that —an undeniable tension that defies explanation, even as you find yourself effortlessly matching his rhythm, and his movements to yours, a natural fluidity.
aventurine’s eyes, sweet like honey, yet always so keen and calculating; now holds a spark of amusement as he meets your eyes once more. his penetrating gaze seems to delve into the depths of your soul, studying you as if he's attempting to peel back the layers of your defenses, and you stare back, matching his intensity, determined to uncover the truth hidden beneath his carefully constructed facade.
he spins you gracefully across the floor, barbed words exchange silently between you as you move in perfect synchronisation. as he pulls you closer, your bodies brush against each other, his expression shifts. there's a flicker of surprise in his eyes but it's swiftly replaced by a widening smile. he feels the cold metal of the dagger strapped to your thigh pressing against his leg. aventurine’s grip on your waist tightens, he leans down, his warm breath caresses your ear.
“is this a surprise for me?”, his voice a low murmur that sends a tingling sensation coursing through your body.
“maybe.” you try to keep your tone cool despite the warmth radiating from his proximity making it increasingly difficult to catch your breath. he raises an eyebrow seemingly challenging you, "at least wait ‘til the song ends, love."
the air is suffusing with the intoxicating scent of his cologne, enveloping you, trapping you with him. you’ve always tried to keep him at arm's length, but somehow he finds his way by your side; his presence suffocating, his touch burning against your skin.
“don’t call me that, it’s annoying.” you retort, words coming out sharper than you intended. though you can’t deny the subtle flutter in your chest, and quickening of your pulse that betrays the effect his endearment has on you.
“alright sweetheart, as you wish.” (you want to punch a hole through his face)
as the night comes to an end, aventurine reluctantly releases you from his grasp, his fingers lingering for just a moment longer. it’s a subtle gesture, but one that doesn’t go unnoticed by you. executing a bow with his eyes still locked onto yours; you curtsey in return, the intensity of his gaze weighing on you as you straighten up.
just as you remember the question you were supposed to ask him after the dance, he interrupts your thoughts by bringing your hand to his lips, the touch of his kiss a brief, searing contact; imprinting the sensation of his touch upon you before he releases your hand.
“until next time”, his words carrying both promise and threat. you cast one last glance into his mesmerizing eyes, hoping to glean something behind them, but to no avail, you find only your own reflection staring back at you.
the sounds of the bustling ballroom gradually seep back into your awareness, laughters and chatters of other guests filling the air around you. returned to your senses, you hurriedly glance around, searching for any sign of him amidst the crowd, but he has vanished without a trace. as if he was never there at all, leaving you to wonder if the encounter was nothing more than a figment of your imagination. you shake your head, attempting to dispel the shroud of confusion that clouds your thoughts.
(unbeknownst to you, a pair of eyes remain fixed on you from the shadows for the rest of the night. hidden in the dimness, his captivation is made obvious by his unwavering gaze and subtle smirk that tugs at the corners of his lips.)
tonight, you found yourself caught in a dance with a man that delights in outmaneuvering you at every turn, who was as captivating as he was dangerous, and you can’t help but wonder when might be your next rendezvous.

LONG MAY YOU ROAR [bucktommy | soft & gentle | 1k] a/n: hi uhh so this randomly popped into my head, and it's the first time i have ever really written in tommy's pov so it's far from perfect but it doesn't really make sense to tell it from another so i tried something new weee. there's some bonus sweet buckley siblings implications <3 title barely has anything to do with the fic/i do not want to be too sad about it, i just love robin from ttpd and it's about childhood so it fit... well enough. tw for mentions of canonical childhood cancer and death of a child
Tommy stands in his boyfriend’s living room, beer in one hand and he takes in the decor. He’s seen it all before but he's still getting to know the man that’s fussing over dinner in the kitchen. And there is something new, resting on the tv stand, is a photo of a boy riding a bicycle, his back toward the camera. It’s the first time Tommy has noticed it. He had never seen any pictures of a young Evan before, it never struck him as strange, not very many people kept baby pictures around their adult home – that’s why this one felt somewhat strange. There were the photo booth strips, Polaroids, and school pictures of Chris and Jee on the fridge or placed in a drawer around the loft, but no other kids were present in this space. Nothing else is so formal. He figures it has to be Evan, and it was special for some reason. So he picks it up and turns to his boyfriend who is smiling and making his way over to him, finally satisfied with letting the lasagna finish baking.
“Who is this handsome young man?” he asks, a gentle teasing lilt in his voice.
And Evan’s demeanor shifts, he’s still smiling, but it turns sad and bittersweet. His whole body sags ever so slightly. Tommy watches as his Adam's apple bobs, he takes a deep breath with his eyes closed and steps closer. He traces the edge of the frame, his eyes transfixed on the back of the bike. “This is my brother. Daniel.” Evan swallows again.
“You’ve never mentioned…Could he not make it to the wedding?” He asks, but there is a nagging feeling in the back of his mind that tells him that there is more to the story.
“You could say that,” Evan responds with a dry hough of a barely there laugh. “He, he um, he died when I was little. Leukemia. I never really knew him. Our parents–” He shakes his head.
“You don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to.”
“I want to. It’s just, that I haven’t told the story so far removed from finding out. I told the 118 right away, while I was still numb. And the very messy deep personal feelings version to my therapist, but I’m still working through a lot. So, I don’t know. It might be hard for me to explain it all.”
“Well we can sit down to start,” He says gently with a smile. Taking Evan’s hand, running a soothing thumb over his knuckles. Evan nods and follows his lead to the couch.
“I just, it’s hard to know where to start,” Evan sighs.
“What about why you only now have this picture up?”
Evan smiles a little. “Maddie gave it to me for his birthday last week.” he clears his throat, “So, basically I didn’t even know that I had a brother until just before Jee was born.” Evan looks over at him, trying to gauge his reaction. He lets the words flow over him, and his brow scrunches, tilting his head in confusion.
“My parents kept several secrets from me, forced Maddie to keep them too, for thirty years. They all came to light when I stumbled across that picture in Maddie’s baby box. The past few years since then have been busy, and she found it again after her move and everything and had a copy made for me and had it framed. He has the right for his life to be remembered and celebrated after being a secret for so long.”
“Why was it a secret?” He lets the question slip out, “If you want to share that.”
“Well, um,” Buck ducks his head a little, “Have you ever seen My Sister's Keeper?” he asks, looking back at him with a questioning look on his face. It isn’t what Tommy is expecting in the slightest. But Tommy has seen the movie in question, and the dots slowly begin to connect. And Evan has this look in his eyes that tells him he’s right.
“Oh, Evan.”
“It just never worked for him though. Sometimes I still feel like I failed him somehow.” Evan rolls his bottom lip between his teeth. “I was always treated like a disappointment by my parents and didn’t know why until I was thirty years old, I was never going to be absolved of a sin I didn’t even know I had committed. Maddie though, she raised me. She always treated me like any kid would want to be treated. So, now we celebrate his birthday when we can and Maddie tells me about him. She always comes up with new stuff she remembers after keeping it tucked away for so long. Or how I remind her of him and stuff. It’s good for her to talk about him, and for me to hear it.”
Tommy smiles at him at that, “I have never been under the impression that your relationship with her isn’t very special. Thank you for telling me about this part of your family.”
“Well, you knew most of all the other members of my family before me, as Chimney likes to remind me.” Evan laughs and relaxes back into his arms, tucking his face into Tommy’s neck. “Thank you for listening.” he runs his fingers over his hands, “I wanted to tell you. I just never knew how to bring it up, or what base talking about a dead brother was.” He can feel Evan’s small smile against his neck, and he laughs gently too.
“Someday soon I’ll tell you about my family too.” He twists his fingers in Evan’s curls.
“Whenever you are ready. I’ll wait.” Evan places a light kiss on his jaw.
The oven beeps declaring the lasagna to be finished and Evan groans, ungluing himself from his side. Once Evan is back in the kitchen, Tommy lifts the photo up again from the coffee table and gently returns it to its home.

summary ; growing up with sae itoshi isn't quite what you'd expect
Tumblr media
Sae Itoshi isn’t exactly sure when he first meets you – there are no formal introductions or anything of that sort. One day, you enter his life, and you never really bother to leave after. He’s kind of the same for you, appearing all of a sudden – your parents’ friends’ kid, a neighbor of yours – and never disappearing afterwards. As unlikely as it sounds, you’re probably one of his oldest friends – his first friend, as a matter of fact.  [Not including Rin, that is. And not including the fact that he doesn’t really see anyone as friends, either.] Coincidentally, you’re also his first kiss.
It’s another one of those things he’s not quite sure about; he doesn’t know how it happened or why, exactly. All he remembers is that he’s twelve, and you’re sulking on the swings next to him at the park, refusing to talk. He doesn’t really care, but you huff so obnoxiously, for so long that he’s forced to take the bait. Only because he feels a little bad for you, though.
“What’s up?”
You perk up ever so slightly at the sound of his voice. It’s a small movement, one that only he sees, because playing soccer has already significantly honed his senses, and because he’s known you for the past seven years. You’re still upset, though, judging from the stupid pout on your face. The one that annoys him to the core, for some reason, even though he doesn’t even care.
“The boys in class called me ugly,” you sigh. Sae thinks he’s too mature to worry about little things like these, but you’re still tender, and apparently it matters a lot to you. He’s not the type to lie to comfort people, and he doesn’t lie when he replies to you. It’s a simple statement, one that he doesn’t think too much of.
“You are pretty, though,” he says. He’s confused; why would the others lie to you? You’re not ugly in the slightest.
“What?”
“I said, you are pretty,” he repeats.
You shake your head.
“Not pretty like in a friends way, Sae,” you chastise him with a tilt of your head. “Like, in a, uhh–” you cut yourself off, chewing on your bottom lip thoughtfully. “Like, you’d wanna kiss me, that kinda pretty.”
“I’d kiss you.”
This time you’re surprised. “No, you wouldn’t.”
“Yeah, I would.”
“Wouldn’t.”
“Would too.”
“Do it then,” you huff, confident that you’ve won the argument.
“Okay,” Sae replies, flat and emotionless. He slides off his swing, making his way towards yours. You stop swinging yourself, confused, and he grabs the ropes on either side of your swing, forcing its final halfhearted sways to an end. “So? Wanna kiss?”
It seems that you’ve finally realized he’s serious. “Oh…”
“Well? Don’t waste my time,” he grumbles, but there’s no actual malice behind his words. He thinks you know him well enough to know that, and you do, because then you’re getting off your swing too, and there’s a tense, awkward moment before you lean in, and then–
It’s nothing like you’d imagined; there are no fireworks, and there’s no cheesy romance music in the background either. But the feeling of Sae’s lips on yours are terrifyingly real. But then he pulls back abruptly, wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, and looks you up and down quizzically. “Happy now?”
You seem unsure of what to say, and he doesn’t push it. Instead, he turns around, ready to leave. “I’ve got soccer practice later,” he announces. “I gotta go.”
Sae doesn’t need to see your face to know how it falls, disappointed. He doesn’t look back as he walks away, because even at this young age, he knows how to pick his battles. And he doesn’t really care about you all that much, but he still doesn’t like it when you’re sad.
“Bye,” you mutter, barely loud enough for him to hear.
He doesn’t bring up the kiss the next day. Or the day after. Or after that. It’s like it never even happened. And if he were anyone, anyone else, you would’ve worried – even a little bit, because you’ve read those cute tween romance books that your best friend lends you – about how the friendship would work after this; but he’s Sae, and Sae doesn’t have friends. You’ve heard the whole spiel before – how he doesn’t care for friends, how he has Rin if he needs company, how soccer is always, always, always his first priority – and even though he’s basically told you that you aren’t friends, he’s never told you to leave either. So it’s not like he doesn’t like you, right?
But then again, it’s kinda changed everything for you. Because suddenly, Sae is no longer just Sae. It’s as if something in your brain finally clicks, and you realize that Sae is a boy too. It’s as if you’ve always seen him as an extension of your girlfriends, but now it’s different. So, so different. For the first time, you look at him like he’s one of the cute boys in class – because he is.
And unbeknownst to you, Sae notices. He sees the way you stare at him unabashedly when you think he’s not looking, how your movements suddenly become more calculated around him. Suddenly, you’ve stopped speaking your mind around him, started caring more about your appearance instead. You’re more conscious of your words and actions, and you keep applying and reapplying the strawberry lipgloss that’s always on your person The regular afternoons at the swing set in the park before practice have turned into hanging out maybe once a fortnight; instead of bugging him to hang out, you now shyly wave goodbye at him after school, and he watches you run over to your friends. You all giggle and push each other around, and if he notices the indiscreet glances your friends throw at him, or hears one of you say his name, he makes an effort to steadfastly ignore it.
It’s already kind of pathetic, how obvious you are with your little crush on him. He tries his best to ignore it, even when your entire face burns red when he throws you a ghost of a smile. But sometimes, even he finds it hard to resist teasing you. He deserves it, right? In his mind, he does. If you’re going to pine over him like this, might as well mess with you at least once while you do so.
It’s a week before your thirteenth birthday – he’s already turned thirteen by then – when he looks at you, feigning curiosity. “Y/n?”
You look at him, startled. “Yeah?”
“What happened to that guy you used to like, what was his name again-”
“N-nothing!” you stammer, interrupting him. “I don’t like anyone, I mean him, anymore!”
Sae’s lips quirk up momentarily; he shakes his head and walks away as you blush and babble incoherently, hands stuffed deep into his pockets.
You’re actually kinda cute.
Kinda.
He doesn’t know why it feels this good to have you indirectly confirm that you like him.
Thirteen passes by so fast, but it leaves you dealing with so many changes too.
There are no more afternoons spent at the swing set in the park.
At fourteen, you stop focusing on yourself for long enough to notice that Sae is changing too. He’s suddenly much taller than you, voice beginning to get deeper. He lets his reddish-brown hair grow out so it frames his face – somewhat unevenly, but it’s still pretty. He’s started to spend more time at soccer practice, and it shows. Like, physically. The muscles in his arms and legs have started to become more defined, and the number of girls who are into him have therefore increased drastically. It irks you. And then he actually starts dating, and it pisses you off even more, because 1) since you’ve basically grown up together, he’ll never see you as anything more than a friend, and 2) girls are basically lining up to date him, even when all the relationships he’s been in so far barely last a month, and his personality is ass, and he always prioritizes soccer more.
He doesn’t deserve it just because he’s pretty.
You don’t really understand why they do it; you’ve been pining for him silently for almost two years, and even though you fantasize him liking you back, and marrying you in the future, you know you probably wouldn’t do anything with him, not right now, not when he’s like this. You hope that if anything happens with him, you’ll be sensible enough to not pursue it. And you even miss just being friends with him – now that he’s busy with soccer, and teaching Rin, and girls, he doesn’t have any time for anything else. Anything else being you, in this case.
You barely talk to him anymore, and it’s not like he makes any effort either.
You miss him.
Sae doesn’t take all these relationships seriously at all; he’s fifteen, and no one really falls in love at fifteen, right? Besides, it’s not like any of these girls want him for anything other than his looks and money. They’re pretty, sure, and it’s fun sneaking around and having someone cheer for him at his soccer matches is nice, but he doesn’t really care for it in the end.
Freshman prom takes place when you’re almost sixteen. You’re one of those few people who doesn’t have a date; you’ve never dated anyone and quite frankly, you’re contemplating whether you should go at all. Maybe you won’t waste money on a dress and makeup and just stay home instead – it won’t be worth it to go alone and face the awkwardness of not having someone with you. All your friends have dates, so you’ll basically be alone anyways, and you don’t want them to give anything up for you – you know they would.
You’re thinking of all this while stranded on one of the higher seats on the bleachers; your friend Asa’s boyfriend is at soccer practice, and she’s brought you with her to watch. You’re not very interested in whatever they’re doing down there, but Asa appears to be, since she’s left you up here alone to go down to talk to her boyfriend. You look up momentarily, not expecting to see anything interesting, but then you catch sight of a familiar number on the back of a jersey – number 10. Despite not wanting to give in to his effortless allure, you can’t help but drag your eyes down the vast expanse of his broad back, down to where it tapers off into a surprisingly small waist, and then his toned legs. If he’s like this at sixteen, you can’t even imagine what he’ll look like when he’s older.
And then he turns around. And your eyes meet. He smirks at you, as if he knows you’ve been staring. You tear your eyes away from his mesmerizing teal ones, trying to focus on the math book that’s perched precariously on your lap. A moment later, you glance up again, thinking he’s moved to some other part of the field, but instead he’s approaching the bleachers, specifically in your direction. You panic for a second – maybe he’s just going to talk to someone else down there, you tell yourself, trying to calm down. But then he starts climbing the steps, one by one, until he stops at your level. Please walk past me, please walk past me, please–
He sits down on the seat next to yours. You keep your gaze fixed firmly on the notebook, refusing to acknowledge his existence until he acknowledges yours.
“You got a date?”
“Huh?” your brain doesn’t register the question before your answer flies out of your mouth. “What?”
Sae sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose between his finger and thumb. Even now, sweaty and tired and annoyed, he looks absolutely gorgeous. “Prom, you have a date?”
“Actually I’m thinking of not going at all,” you admit sheepishly.
“Why not?” Sae has the audacity to actually look interested.
“It’ll be awkward,” you reply flatly. “All my friends have dates, but I don’t, so I won’t have anyone to be with, and if I tell them I’m going alone, they’ll just ditch their boyfriends to hang out with me. I don’t want that to happen.”
“Go with me, then.”
“What?”
“Be my date, to prom,” he sighs.
“Oh.”
“Oh, what?”
“Don’t you have a date? I thought girls chase you everywhere,” you scoff.
“What, you jealous?” he says, almost as if he’s musing.
“Of course not!” you lie.
“So? Is it a yes, or do I gotta find some other girl to take?”
“I don’t think you have to go looking to find one,” you reply coldly.
He snickers in response, but there’s no mirth behind it. “I’m serious. I want you to go with me.”
You’d hoped to be sensible in situations like these. Spoiler alert: you’d hoped wrong. You are, after all, only fifteen.
“What about your girlfriend, though?” you ask him later.
“We broke up.” he replies curtly.  Of course they did.
You ignore the twisted glee that boils in the pits of your stomach.
Your friends are probably more excited than you when you tell them who’s taking you to prom; you try to convince them – and also yourself – that it’s nothing like that, it’s purely platonic. But you still don’t know why he chose you. You’re also not sure why you accepted. If only he wasn’t so damn pretty.
You’re not deaf – the whispers start as soon as you enter prom attached to the Sae Itoshi’s side, the corsage on your wrist matching the boutonnière on the lapel of his tuxedo. All eyes are on the two of you; the soccer prodigy and his childhood friend. But Sae is surprisingly courteous tonight. He notices your discomfort almost immediately, squeezing your hand reassuringly to calm you down.
“Ignore them,” he advises you under his breath. He’s nothing like the person you’ve known so far. Is this how he treats his girlfriends? You shrug the thought off, instead forcing yourself to smile up at him.
“I’m fine,” you murmur.
You’re not.
Sae is an excellent date; he dances with you until you’re tired, refuses to leave your side, and looks after your punch when you go to the bathroom. He seems somewhat tired, but it feels like he’s trying to hide it, so you don’t mention it. But then again, you’ve been wrapped up in your own thoughts again. Because of tonight, the emotional part of your crush on Sae has once again been reawakened – he’s no longer a piece of eye candy you stare at when you’re bored.
And then, just when you decide things can’t get any worse, they do.
“Y/n, Sae, c’mere,” calls Asa. “Let's play spin the bottle!”
You shake your head, about to refuse, but Sae grabs your hand and starts walking towards the small group that’s assembled around a glass bottle that’s half full of some dubious liquid you can’t quite identify.
“Sure,” he says. “We’ll play.”
Fuck.
The circle consists of you, Sae, Asa, her boyfriend Denji, your other friend Maki, and a bunch of other people you don’t know by name. You’re sitting cross-legged on the wooden floor of the gymnasium, and for some reason, you have a really bad feeling about this. Maki goes first, leaning forward to spin the bottle with a swift flick of her fingers. It slows down near you, moves to Sae – your breath catches in your throat as it inches past – and stops in front of Asa. She leans in, giving Maki a cursory peck on the lips before pulling back. They’re both laughing, and she leans into Denji, immediately murmuring an apology. He shakes his head, grinning. “I don’t mind, babe, I swear! But whose turn is it now?”
Everyone turns to look at you.
Shit.
You swallow nervously, reaching out to the bottle with one shaky hand. You don’t know why you’re this anxious. Taking a deep breath, you spin. It takes longer than you expect. You can hardly breathe – and then Sae bends his head towards yours, whispering, “Calm down, it’ll be fine.”
But it isn’t. Because as soon as the words exit his mouth, the bottle comes to a stop. And because the universe does everything it possibly can to fuck you over, it comes to a stop in front of Sae. You hastily shake your head. “It’s okay, we don’t have to–”
“What?” he interrupts. “You don’t wanna kiss me?”
“It’s not that,” an angry flush spreads across your cheeks, and your hands ball up into tight fists. “Okay, I’ll do it.”
“Make it ten seconds at least, this time!” Someone cheers, but you’re only looking at Sae. You turn towards him, and just like that, you and Sae share your second kiss together. He’s obviously much more experienced than you, tilting your head up with one hand to get a better angle. His lips are chapped, but still soft. It feels… nice. You almost wish you were dating him. But when you finally relax, almost starting to enjoy it, he pulls back. “See? It wasn’t that bad.”
You nod, flustered, still trying to compose yourself. “ Yeah, it was okay.”
“I think I’m cursed,” you complain to Asa and Maki in the girls’ toilets where you’ve taken refuge to touch up your makeup. “He was my first kiss, and my second one too. Next you’ll see him being the third one too!”
Asa giggles. “Ooh, I hope so!”
“Maybe he’s secretly in love with you, you never know,” interjects Maki, but you shake your head sadly. She rolls her eyes, closing the tube of mascara. “Stop acting like a pathetic puppy,” she chides. “It’s okayyyyy.”
You don’t answer, busy swiping the applicator of your lipgloss across your lips.
“Um, I think I gotta pee, you guys go back without me,” you say. Your voice is too loud, too high-pitched. It’s obvious that you have other reasons for wanting to come out later. There’s an awkward silence, and you’re not quite sure what to expect. Will they refuse and Call you out? Anxiety bubbles up inside you. But Asa and Maki are your best friends, after all. You can see in their eyes that they don’t buy it at all – they pretend to, though, and leave you alone in the restrooms to rot alone with your thoughts.
When you finally get the guts to exit the toilet, you find yourself standing behind Asa. She’s asking Sae how much longer the two of you will be staying, and hasn’t seemed to notice you behind her yet. Sae does, though, raising one perfect brow ever so slightly. Asa continues talking, unaware of the silent conversation going on between the two of you. Sae tilts his head to one side, as if asking a question; you shake your head vehemently in return, hoping he understands what you’re trying to convey.
“We’ll get going as soon as y/n comes back,” says Sae. You breathe a sigh of relief; how could you possibly have doubted him? He’s known you since you were what, five years old – longer than anyone else in the room, even Maki and Asa.
“But it’s barely eight,” Asa argues, but he shakes his head.
“Her parents said eight thirty tops,” he shrugs. Sae is an impeccable liar. Before Asa can say anything else, you interrupt them.
“ Sae, we gotta go.”
“Yeah,” he says. “See? Later, Asa.”
“Bye Asa!”
She waves goodbye as the two of you leave the gym.
The school looks completely different at night, dimly lit with countless locked doors on either side of you, and it doesn’t take long for the two of you to get lost. Sae watches you standing uneasily by a window, face lit up almost ethereally by the moonlight that’s streaming in. You don’t notice him staring as you gaze distractedly out of the window silently. You really are pretty.
He doesn’t realize when he walks over to stand beside you wordlessly. You tear your eyes away from the world outside and turn to him. “You need anything?”
He shakes his head. “Not really.”
His voice is lower than usual, barely above a whisper, and suddenly the air is thick with tension. He hears you breathe in, sharp and fast, as your gaze flickers from his eyes, to his lips, then back to his eyes again. He can’t blame you, not when he’s doing the same thing. Sae takes a single carefully calculated step forward, and before he can move another muscle, you step forward too, grabbing the lapels of his jacket and pulling him down to kiss him. He’s startled at your boldness – he hadn’t expected you to initiate anything – but it’s a nice surprise. It takes a moment for him to regain his senses before he kisses you back with equal fervor, large hands coming up to cradle your face. He feels you sigh softly into his mouth, fists tightening around the fabric of his jacket. What had Asa mentioned again– oh. So this is your first real kiss – not one that’s part of a game, not one that’s being used to just prove a point. Your stupid strawberry lipgloss smears across your mouth and his, and it tastes good, and you taste good, and so what if a tiny part of him doesn’t want this to ever end?
But then the two of you separate, and you’re probably the most beautiful girl he’s seen in his entire life. You’re panting slightly from the lack of  oxygen, chest heaving gently. Your lips are parted a little, slick with a mix of lipgloss and saliva, and you’re watching him with widened eyes. He’s not sure what to do now, but suddenly you take a step back, and then another, and another. You shake your head. “This was a mistake, Sae. I’m not gonna become another one of your disposable girlfriends.”
Sae doesn’t know what to say. In fact, he doesn’t even have anything to say at all. No excuses, no defenses. You are probably right after all. Though he may be an expert at starting relationships, he certainly fails to keep them alive – not that he cares to, in the first place. And soccer is always more important anyways. So he stays silent, watching you hurry away into the dark.
He hopes you won’t get lost this time.
School starts a week later, a day after your sixteenth birthday. You’re almost relieved to see that Sae has gone back to ignoring you. [he hasn’t wished you a happy birthday.] You play it off to your friends as him just being busy again, but you know that’s not true. And he already has another girl hanging off his arm again, and although you’re unsurprised, it still hurts after that night, when he’d kissed you like you actually meant something to him. You know you don’t, though. Not in the way other things matter to him – soccer, for example. Or getting girls.
It’s painful to even look at him now; it’s annoying how fast your views of him have changed. It also doesn’t help that he glances towards you every now and then. Whatever, you think. Fuck him. You need to focus on your classwork instead. Or more specifically, the project that’ll make up a significant portion of your grade and act as a replacement for your finals. Unfortunately for you, it’s a partnered project, meaning you won’t be able to work as efficiently – you’re in your element when you’re working alone. Half the class has already been paired up by the time your name is called. You scan the remaining people for Asa or Maki, hoping you get one of them as a partner, but your peace is shattered as your teacher calls out a name that you’ve grown to dislike, no, fear over the past week. “Sae Itoshi!”
Sae’s face is painfully neutral, betraying absolutely no emotion. You don’t know whether he even cares about this – he probably doesn’t – but it’s still an important project, so all you can do is suck it up and work. He walks up to you, face still annoyingly blank. “You have my number, right?”
What happened to hello? How are you? You nod anyways, unsure of what he wants.
“Call me then,” he says flatly. “I’ll do whatever as long as you arrange the time and place.”
What a bitch. You want to slap him.
“Okay.”
It’s not okay.
Every time you’re even near him, all you can think of is his lips on yours; the feel of his hands on your waist, your face. You don’t want anything to do with him, let alone spend the next two weeks working on this stupid project with him.
That night, you scream at yourself in the mirror. Why can’t you just be normal? These things happen, it’s not a big deal. You spend half an hour pacing around the bathroom, raving to yourself like a madman. It takes another hour before you calm down enough to be able to text him.
You: hey
You: this is y/n btw
Sae: ok
You: you told me to arrange everything
Sae: yea
You: i’m free tmr after school. At like 3
Sae: i have practice
You: dude skip out on practice once nothing will happen
Sae: no
y/n: ur literally a prodigy..
Sae: and?
y/n: okay yk what?
y/n: you set everything up then idc
Sae: wtf okay
Sae: 3pms okay
Sae: your place or mine
The first time the two of you meet up, time passes slowly but uneventfully. It’s at your house; the two of you have decided to alternate until the project is done. It doesn’t really matter, though, considering how close you live to each other It takes you almost six hours to perfect the outline, and you’re fucking exhausted by the end of the day. Even Sae doesn’t have any energy in him to spit out any witty remarks until he’s leaving. He shoves his things into his backpack messily. Usually, everything that belongs to him is neat and immaculate, so this goes to show just how much the day has worn him out. But it appears to have reduced the tension between you two as well. [Not that you care.] At the door, he turns back to you. “Fuck you for choosing the most complicated topic just for some extra credit,” he grumbles.
You scoff, even though you know he’s not being serious.
“Fuck you too, Sae Itoshi.” you call.
He raises up one hand to flip you off behind him as he walks off.
You think you hear him laugh.
The second day of the project is spent at Sae’s place. It’s a Saturday, and he forces you to wake up nice and early so the two of you can start working on the project as fast as possible.
“The faster we start, the faster we finish,” he says.
Sae is infinitely more comfortable in his own house, body draped over one of the many sofas in the living room as he types on his laptop. You’re sitting on the floor, on top of a large piece of paper that you’re decorating. This project is such a pain in the ass. The air conditioner is on full blast, but for some reason you’re still feeling kind of feverish. Sae, on the other hand, seems to be living his best life in a tight black t-shirt and light gray sweats that hang annoyingly low on his hips – it’s a simple yet devastatingly distracting outfit, and you can barely focus.
Sooner or later, the two of you find yourselves in the kitchen looking for something to eat. Sae bends down to rifle through the fridge while you seat yourself on one of the high stools around the kitchen counter. Your legs hang in the air, and suddenly you feel very small. But more and more loud noises come from the fridge as Sae curses and throws an empty box behind him; you take this moment to shamelessly ogle his turned back. He straightens up again a moment later, and you rip your eyes away and look down at the counter. Just in time too, because he turns around, slamming the door shut.
“That little shit Rin finished everything good here,” he grumbles, stretching. You have to force yourself to look away from him and the way his shirt rides up to reveal perfectly sculpted abs. He turns to one of the cabinets instead, pulling out a container instead. Opening it up, he sticks one hand inside, pulling out a chocolate chip cookie. Then he holds it out to you. “Want some?”
You nod in assent.
Sae finishes eating before you, but he doesn’t leave the kitchen as you steadily work through the pile of cookies on your plate. It’s not exactly awkward, but he’s slouched against the marble of the kitchen counter, chin resting on one hand as he watches you eat. His pretty teal gaze follows your every movement, yet his face remains completely passive.
You help him wash up after you finish, even though there’s not a lot to clean. But then, as you turn around to leave the kitchen, Sae moves too, and suddenly you’re standing with your front all but pressed up against his. You move to one side to give him space to pass, but apparently he has the same idea at the exact same time. You move to the other side, and so does he. The double coincidence makes you giggle, and pulls a chuckle from him too. But the atmosphere shifts in a way that’s all too familiar, and the pit in your stomach reopens, and you swallow, looking up at Sae. He stares back at you, nonchalant, and before you can say anything or get yourself out of this situation, he speaks. “I want to kiss you again.”
His voice is controlled, toneless. But his eyes, the ones you’ve known for over nine years right now, betray his true feelings. He’s really not as unbothered as he’s trying to appear; a steady fire of something you can’t identify burns in his eyes.
You want to say no. You know that’s the smarter option here. You know you’ll only get hurt more if you let it – or whatever this is – continue like this. The path that you’re walking is already doomed, you can see where the road ends, fades into nothing but pain and suffering. But you’re young, and you’re stupid. And you like Sae Itoshi way more than you should. So you shrug. “Sure.”
Sae cups your face with one hand, adjusting your positioning slightly before he leans down to kiss you. This time, along with the anxiety, there’s also something in you that yearns and yearns. The second or two before Sae kisses you feels like an hour at the least; something almost akin to relief floods through your veins when he finally does.
It’s as if your world shifts as he kisses you again, slow and languid. Or at least, that’s how it starts. In a matter of seconds it turns into something more zealous, all tongue and teeth. Your hands instinctively fly up to tangle into his messy hair as he picks you up effortlessly with one hand and places you atop the kitchen counter. You gasp into his mouth in surprise at the sudden movement, and it draws a low chuckle from him before he pulls away infinitesimally. You’re confused; is it ending already? You don’t want it to end. And it’s as if Sae reads your mind.
“Calm down, pretty,” he pants, eyes wide and pupils blown out. He smirks against your lips, smug, confident. “It’s just a breather, I’ll kiss you again, don’t worry.”
You roll your eyes, and Sae kisses you again; you can feel the way his lips curve up. He feels you loop your arms around his neck, somehow pulling him even closer to you, and he maneuvers one of your legs so it’s hooked around his hip. You seem to get the message, wrapping your legs around his waist. Sae hums into your mouth in approval, dragging a thumb across your cheekbone slowly, lips still against yours. He knows all of this is still more or less new to you, considering the fact that everything you’ve experienced has been with Sae, but it’s obvious that you’re growing more and more used to it by the second.
He doesn’t taste the lipgloss this time; he almost misses it – both the taste, and the way it smudges across your lips so prettily.
The taste of him intoxicates you, leaving you in a drunken stupor where he’s the only thing you can focus on. His every touch leaves a trail of fire in its wake across your body.
But heaven on earth always comes to an end, one way or the other. You’re both oh-so wrapped up in everything going on when Sae suddenly pulls away. You lean back from him, confused. “Sae, what’s wrong?”
“Just, just gimme a sec,” he rasps. His voice is low, husky from the kissing, and he’s somewhat short of breath. “I’m not looking for a relationship or anything. I don’t know why I did it, I broke up with Kaori like a week ago.”
“I know,” you reply matter-of-factly. “Like I give a fuck.”
And then you kiss him again.
The sound of his phone ringing interrupts the two of you, and you both turn your heads to look at it simultaneously. It’s an unknown number; he cuts the call, cursing, and turns back to you. But your eyes are widened in disbelief as you stare at the clock on his lockscreen. “Sae, it’s been almost an hour since we came here!”
“No way,” he says. There’s a note of mild surprise in his voice as he checks for himself.
“We have to get back to work,” you tell him.
“Whatever, five more minutes?”
You shake your head, finally leaving the kitchen. Now that the haze you’d been lost in has finally cleared, the magnitude of just how badly you’ve fucked all this up has begun to really sink in. Sae is much more composed than you – like he didn’t just spend the last thirty-ish minutes making out with you on his kitchen counter.
The two sides of you are fighting, clawing, tearing each other apart. One side wraps around you protectively, trying to keep your heart safe. To keep you safe. Stay away from him, it screams. You’ll only get hurt. The other side wants him – wants him so badly. He has you addicted with a singular touch; your body needs this, craves him.
And you hate how he’s perfectly fine about all this.
Spoiler alert: he isn’t. Although his face doesn’t betray it, he has been thinking.
That evening, before you leave, he asks you a question.
“What are we?”
You pause. “You said you’re not, y’know…”
“Yeah.” he’s selfish; he knows that you’re into him at least a little bit. [or a lot, considering how the last few days have been.] “What do you wanna do?”
This is the last moment you can turn back, save yourself. But you only live once, right? Might as well do it for the plot. “We can keep it like this, I don’t mind.”
Sae watches you touch up your makeup before you leave. You work calm and methodically – mascara, lipstick, that damned strawberry lipgloss. “y/n.”
You move your gaze from your compact mirror to him. Damn, you’re pretty. “What?”
“Kiss me,” he says, from the couch.
You don’t say no as you take your shoes off again.
You reapply your lipgloss again half an hour later, on the way home.
The project is completed much earlier than expected. If you’re being honest, though, you should have expected this, considering the two of you spend most of every day at each others’ places now anyways. You’ve always hated having rich, absent parents, but it doesn’t seem half as bad now. Not when Sae’s hand sits so comfortably on your waist, chin resting atop yours as he takes a photo of the finished piece. It’s like you’re two puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly, that are meant to be. You wish it was meant to be.
You and Sae have been pretty good at keeping things under wraps, especially when you can barely keep your hands off each other. Ever since you okayed the relationship-not-relationship, it’s as if things have automatically upped a notch. And even then, you barely text, unless it’s about meeting up in secluded corners and empty parking lots, where Sae kisses you silly, until you can’t breathe and his sharp teal gaze is unfocused and glazed over. Sae chases you the way he chases every goal on the field, focused on you and only you, ruthless, mindless of everyone else until he has you right where he wants you, with unbuttoned shirts and loosened ties and roaming hands that grab collars and venture daringly underneath clothes without ever crossing that invisible line. In the past few weeks, for example, you’ve felt up Sae’s abs way more than you’re going to admit; you’ve lost count by now anyways, but you know you’d never go farther. [you never started.]
When Sae Itoshi truly puts his mind to it, he is an emphatic lover. Between days of stolen kisses and fleeting touches and nights where you sneak out to meet him like he’s your boyfriend, time passes fast. Your favorite drink sits at one corner of your desk every day at school, and sometimes people ask if you’re dating someone. You shake your head no, but it still is a pleasant surprise every day, you tell people. It’s most definitely not Sae, especially when he’s slightly late to school every day after his early morning soccer practice.
In his own classroom down the hall, Rin’s lips quirk up into a subtle smile.
Sixteen turns into seventeen in the blink of an eye.
Sae’s slowly becoming more and more busy with soccer, and it’s not like you aren’t busy either. You barely see him now, except at schools and parties, both of which are less than ideal, considering the nature of your relationship. This doesn’t deter Sae, however, and you often find yourselves in empty rooms or the like, risking it all for a few kisses.
And then there’s the matter of his girlfriends. Because whether you like it or not, Sae has begun to date girls every now and then. They’re not serious relationships, just stupid flings that last a month or two. He never brings them up to you, and you never mention them either, unless you’re asking whether he’s done with them. He doesn’t tell you when exactly he starts dating someone new, but it’s obvious from how he pulls back and stops texting you at all. And then you see a new girl hanging off his arm at every party, and of course you’re jealous. Why wouldn’t you be? After all, it’s been five years since the first spark of anything you’ve felt for him came alive.
You’re the one constant in his life, though, other than soccer. Every time he’s done with another girlfriend, he comes straight back to you. Or you go back to him.
Sae: come over?
Sae: yeah yeah im done w her dont worry
y/n: okay
You never refuse him, overpowered by greed, trying to get as much of him to yourself as you can.
“Hey,” he greets you. His lips are already on yours before he’s closing the door. You don’t respond – how can you, given your position – but you smile into the kiss all the same. Sae is the closest you’ve ever had to a boyfriend. You have no interest in anyone outside him anyways. His parents are rarely home, and so are yours, so you often end up spending nights at each others’ places. It’s nothing sexual; you’d just rather not be alone. There’s a drawer of Sae’s things in your room, and he knows – and you know he knows – that you wear them occasionally. You always deny it, but he encourages it with a sly smile. “Better you than anyone else,” he says. It makes you feel special. Even his girlfriends don’t get that treatment. But that’s before you sleep over at Sae’s. Once you start staying over, his clothes are basically at your disposal. You steal his button ups, his t-shirts, his shorts. And the best part is, he doesn’t mind in the slightest. All he does is grin at you lazily while he shamelessly checks you out. “You look good, pretty girl.”
He laughs at the way the pet name startles you.
Seventeen is also when your life falls apart.
Sae shows up unannounced one night at your door, with a bouquet, a gift bag and an envelope. You haven’t seen him in a while. He’s been busy with some sort of tryouts, you’re not really sure. He hands the bag and flowers to you watching you toss the bouquet onto a couch and turn to the bag. You take out a small velvet box. It looks expensive. Inside, there’s a simple gold necklace with a heart-shaped locket. Your eyes widen. “Sae, what is this? How much did it–”
“Don’t worry about it,” he says. His usually dispassionate face seems almost sad. “Just a present for my favorite girl.”
Sae has never been a verbal person with you. In the last two years, he’s only ever made his thoughts clear through his actions – never his words. This is new, and for some reason, it scares you. “But why?”
“It’s my way of saying goodbye,” he admits. Your heart drops.
“What?”
He hands you the envelope next, and your eyes frantically skim through the document until you finish; he’s been chosen to go to Spain and train under that one soccer team he’s always talked about. You look up with wide eyes. “Sae, I’m so happy for you!”
He smiles, albeit melancholically. “I knew you’d be. But there’s also… us.”
You’re confused. “Huh? Us?”
He nods. “Whatever we’re doing right now – I can’t continue it. Not like this, over texts, with the time difference and everything. You know what I mean?”
“Yeah, I do.” Your heart shatters into a million pieces, but you don’t want to feel any of this. Because even though you’re losing him right now, he was never yours in the first place – and you were never his. And you’d known this from the start; anticipated it even. There’d been a small part of you that had hoped, of course, that things would go a different route, but it had been set in stone all along. You take a deep breath. “Okay, Sae Itoshi, what do you wanna do?”
The corners of his lips twitch at the use of his full name, even as he tries to remain serious. “I don’t know, y/n l/n, what do I wanna do?”
Stuffing the envelope back into his hoodie pocket, he cradles your face softly with both hands, like you’re fragile. Weird. He’s never done anything like this, especially not almost-in-public. He’s always been careful, trying not to get caught. And he has kept this hidden for almost two years now, so you can’t exactly complain. You grab his wrists with both of your hands, pulling him into your house. You lock the door carefully, but you don’t notice the girl at the corner of the street. The one with a wicked little smile on her face, as she clicks yet another incriminating picture of you and Sae, damning evidence of the stupid not-relationship the two of you have kept hidden for so long.
“Do me,” you snicker as soon as you make sure the door is locked. It’s not your usual humor, not with Sae, anyways, but you’re too absorbed in your thoughts, trying to hide the intense pain you’re feeling right now. You hope it doesn’t show on your face.
Sae raises one eyebrow, arms crossed in front of him. “Come again?”
“Nothing,” you say. “C’mere, help me put this on.”
He follows you to your room like a sad puppy, waiting silently as you turn the lights on and stand in front of the mirror. He takes the necklace from your hands, fastening it around your neck. You fix the positioning of the locket; the metal is cool against your skin that’s heated up from the brush of his fingers on the nape of your neck. Your eyes meet his in the mirror, and the silence is strained, awkward even, unlike anything you’ve experienced with him before.
“So, when are you leaving?” you ask him.
“Tomorrow.”
Oh. So that’s why it’s goodbye. Of course. [You want to die.] Instead, you turn to him, hoping your face doesn’t betray your emotions. “How long are you staying here?”
“How long do you want me to?”
“When’s your flight?”
“Stop asking me questions,” he huffs. “Eight, I think.”
You open your mouth to ask another question.
“AM, eight in the morning,” he says, hands raised in surrender. “Now will you stop?”
“Let’s watch a movie,” you tell him, ignoring the second statement. “Then you can go home, I guess.”
“You guess? What, you wanna keep me here forever?” he means it as a joke, but you hum in agreement.
“Sure.”
He pulls one of your drawers open, taking out two sets of clothing. He chucks one at you with a grin. “Go change, stupid. Get comfortable.”
“Oh,” you say. “You have to take all this back, right?”
“Nah,” he responds carelessly. “I don’t. Keep ‘em, throw ‘em out for all I care.”
You change in the bathroom, giving him space to do the same in your room. But when you come out after giving him sufficient time to finish – he’s always been quick in every way – he hasn’t changed, standing with his back to you while talking on the phone in only his boxers. You wait for him to finish, patiently staring at his back until he finishes. He notices your presence almost as soon as the call ends, turning around to face you. “What?”
“Nice ass, Itoshi,” you grin.
He narrows his eyes at you. “For real, y/n?”
You don’t answer, instead busying yourself with fixing up your bed while he gets dressed. When your bed looks okay enough for your [arguably low] standards, you turn back to Sae, who’s still very much shirtless. He holds his t-shirt in front of him, staring at it skeptically.
“The fuck, Sae? Put your clothes on!”
“It’s hot tonight,” he complains. “Can’t I go without?”
In all those nights of staying over, he’s never done that before. If it had been anyone else you’d probably have said no. But it is Sae asking, and when have you ever said no to him? You make a show of thinking it over, but your mind has already said yes.
You start off at separate sides of the bed – you always do. This time, though, you don’t really concentrate on the movie as much as you should. Sneaking looks at Sae Itoshi’s lean, yet defined and extremely attractive body is much more fun anyways. When you’re about halfway through the stupid, sappy rom-com you’re watching, you feel a strong pair of arms wrap around your middle before Sae pulls you into himself. Your terrified shriek turns into a groan as you turn over to smack him in annoyance. “Maybe ask next time!”
Sae shakes his head, burying his face in your hair. Humming appreciatively, he pulls the hem of your [his] loose t-shirt up just enough to be able to wrap his arms around your bare middle. He turns back to the movie, but you’re stuck in contemplative thought. This is all new; he’s never actively done anything like it during any of your countless movie nights – if they can even be called that, considering the majority of them are interrupted by him initiating something or vice versa – and he’s always waited for the two of you to slowly come closer to each other rather than pull you to him, like tonight. He’s acting like what you'd expect a real boyfriend to act like, and suddenly your insides lurch, and once again the gravity of the situation hits you.
You’ve never really minded being Sae’s little secret, someone he comes back to when he’s tired of school and soccer and his girlfriends. It makes you feel like you’re kind of a safe space for him, where he’s not afraid to be soft or tired or imperfect. Of course, he’ll always be perfect in your eyes, anyways. But it hurts like hell now, when he acts like he’s yours, buying you expensive shit, calling you his favorite girl – who even does that? You’re already thinking of giving the necklace away, because how can you live with something like it, when he’s the one giving it to you, his “favorite girl”, when he’s not even your boyfriend. And even then, you’ve managed to somehow fall in love with him.
It’s so fucked – you’re so fucked.
Sae seems oblivious to your troubled thoughts, hands busied with toying with your necklace.
“This looks pretty on you,” he murmurs, and you want to throw up. You can’t take it anymore; you want to forget it, forget him, forget every compliment that he’s handed you today like some sort of indirect apology. Another second of all this, and you might just cry. You need him to shut the fuck up, and the easiest way to do that is–
“Sae, wanna make out?”
He never says no to you, either.
Sae leaves like a shadow in the night; he kisses you goodbye and whispers something that sounds suspiciously like “I’msorryIloveyou” before he pulls away. But he’s Sae, he would never say that. And even while breaking your heart into pieces with his bare hands, slow and deliberate, he still has the audacity to look so devastatingly beautiful while doing it. And you still can’t hate him. You don’t think you’ll ever be able to. It’s maybe two in the morning when you stand at the door waiting for him to leave – you’re not sure because one moment you’re falling asleep, and the next he’s waking you up, cursing, running late. He still needs to pack half his stuff. You’re startled out of your sleep when you hear that; is he fucking stupid? Who leaves that for the last few hours?
But you digress.
You haven’t bothered to turn the lights on, knowing that you'll probably just go back to bed and cry. Maybe grab some ice cream from the kitchen on your way. Not that it matters. Sae’s changed back into his normal clothes again. He looks like he’s about to say something, but then he stops. Stepping out of your house for the last time in who knows when, he turns back. You both speak at the same time.
“y/n.”
“Sae.”
“You go first,” he says.
“How long will you be, um, gone?” you ask. You’re aware your voice is shaky. Your lower lip trembles, and you bite down on it to stop. You’re going to cry – you don’t want to, not in front of him.
“Two years,” he replies sheepishly. “Give or take.”
Two–
“I won’t have my phone, or anything,” he continues, unprompted. “So…”
“Yeah, I get it,” you say.
“Yeah.”
“What were you gonna say?” you ask. You’d almost forgotten.
“Oh,” he seems shy, all of a sudden. The cocky, confident, arrogant, brash Sae Itoshi, acting like this in front of you? Something’s definitely up. “Oh.”
“Hm?”
“I’ll miss you,” he says at last.
He watches your face carefully: the way it moves, the way your expression changes, the way the tiniest spasm of pain flits across it before it goes back to whatever facade you’ve been maintaining carefully ever since he came over today. You don’t say anything back, but god you’re beautiful. Even in your [his] ugly, oversized clothes and with your messy hair, you look absolutely enchanting, angelic features illuminated by the silvery moonlight. Suddenly he’s transported back to a certain evening almost two years ago, with you in a shimmery blue dress, standing by a window. You in that same blue dress, kissing him like your life depended on it. You–
“You should go,” you say shakily. I’ll miss you too, Sae. So much. You don’t even know.
“I should.”  He doesn’t want to.
[You don’t see Sae Itoshi again until you’re on a cruise ship, celebrating your nineteenth birthday.]

Luke and reader were in a relationship before he betrayed camp and they were head over heals for each other and then he stole the bolt and when Percy discovers he's the thief the reader is there feeling betrayed and specially heartbroken even though Luke ask her to go with him but she doesn't accept it because she's so loyal to camp and her friends.
Time passed and even if she wants to hate Luke she loves him more than anything. And Luke loves her too so instead of asking Annabeth to escape with him he asks reader and she accepts.
I want to see everything in here fluff, angst, everything you think about.
I hope you like this request and make it real for me because I've been having this idea for over a week.

The crackle and pop of the bonfire filled the air, a comforting contrast to the vibrant bursts of color exploding overhead. The annual fireworks display was in full swing, casting shadows on the faces of your friends huddled around the warm flames. It was a picture of peace, a moment of respite amidst the constant threat of monsters demigod drama.
You stole a glance at the empty space beside you. Luke, your boyfriend, had told you he'd just be back in a minute. A few minutes had turned into an eternity, but you chalked it up to his usual impulsiveness. He'd be back any minute, with his signature smile and an arm wrapped around you.
You knew it.
From the moment you met, you and Luke had been inseparable. You were his confidante, his anchor in the chaos of being a demigod and his messy life. He was your rock, always there to make you laugh, to understand the weight of your heritage in a way no one else could.
The warmth of the fire danced on your skin, but a shiver snaked down your spine. Something felt off. The chatter of your friends seemed muted, replaced by a dull ache in your chest. You couldn’t deny the way you noticed how Luke has been acting lately. So weird and distant towards you the last couple days. You loved him, fiercely and unconditionally. You'd been there for him through thick and thin, especially after his quest left a jagged scar across his cheek and a hollowness in his eyes.
But then he suddenly just, snapped.
A memory surfaced in you , sharp and unwelcome. It had been months ago, a conversation in the darkness of his cabin in a particular cold night. Luke, his eyes filled with a desperate fervor, had confessed his anger towards the gods, his belief that they were cruel and neglectful parents. He'd spoken of tricking the Olympians, joining forces with the Titans to fight for a better life for all demigods.
The anger in his voice, the glint of rebellion in his eyes, had scared you. The scar on his face, a reminder of his failed quest, seemed to burn brighter that night.
You understood his anger. The gods were far from perfect, their neglect and cruelty evident in countless demigod lives. He'd begged you to join him, his voice filled with a desperate hope. But you'd refused, your loyalty to Camp Half-Blood and your friends unwavering. You had spent hours talking him through it as you held his hand, reminding him of all the good the gods had done, no matter how flawed they might be. He'd looked lost at the time, seeking comfort in your touch. You'd thought you'd reached him, extinguished that spark of rebellion.
You really believed that conversation was long forgotten. But there was a reason why you remembered it.
Some movement at the edge of the woods caught your eye. But it wasn't the boy you were expecting. Percy, his face pale and etched with worry, practically stumbled into the fireplace, his chest heaving and his grip tight on Riptide.
A pang of concern shot through you. "Percy?" you called out, concern lacing your voice. You pushed yourself off the ground, walking towards him. "What happened? Where's Luke?"
Percy hesitated, his eyes filled with a storm of emotions. Shit, should he tell you? His silence was a hammer blow to your gut. You knew, with a chilling certainty, that something was terribly wrong.
"What?" you choked out, the question barely a whisper, expecting some kind of answer from the blonde boy, but nothing came from his trembling lips. The air felt dense, with a truth you desperately wanted to deny. You saw Luke getting into the woods with Percy, you saw it. And now, he was nowhere to be seen.
Then, it clicked. A cold, horrifying truth began to dawn on you.
He lied.
Without a word, you pushed Percy aside and started running, towards the woods. Your heart hammered against your ribs, like a trapped bird desperate to escape. You plunged into the darkness of the forest, the path you'd walked countless times with Luke now leading you into the unknown.
"Luke!" you screamed, your voice raw with anger and despair. You wove through the trees, the undergrowth tearing at your camp shirt, but you didn't care. You had to find him, to confront him, to understand why he'd chosen this path, if he chose it, why he'd lied to you.
But with each passing minute, hope crashed over you. The forest grew denser, the silence broken only by the rustle of leaves and the frantic beat of your own heart. There was no sign of Luke, no echo of his footsteps, no smell, no sense of his presence, only the chilling truth hanging heavy in the air.
He was gone.
He had left.
You sank to your knees, the weight of betrayal crushing you as the first tears you ever cried for Luke Castellan, started to fall. The man you loved, the person you'd trusted with your life, had chosen darkness over everything you held dear. He had chosen Kronos over you.
Grief, a cold and relentless serpent, coiled around your heart. And that feeling never seemed to leave.
The year that followed was a blur of sadness and a desperate attempt at normalcy. The silence from Luke was deafening. Not a single Iris-message, not a single sign of the one who once, was your boyfriend.
You knew you wouldn´t be able to return to Camp, at least not for now. Every corner held a ghost of Luke's smile, every sword clang a reminder of his battles and his betrayal. Your friends, the true ones, bless their hearts, tried everything to cheer you up from a distance, but their efforts felt like trying to pick up the pieces of a broken glass in the sea.
You opted to stay home that summer. But even there, away from the prying eyes and hushed whispers, escape from Luke's betrayal seemed impossible. Messages and news found you no matter where you hid. News of Luke leading a rogue army aboard a stolen cruise ship, rumors of him serving as Kronos's right hand while the Titan slumbered – it all reached your ears.
The nights were the worst. The darkness mirrored the hollowness within you. Tears would stain your pillow as you relived the events leading up to his betrayal. You once seemed to dream about seeing him again, and now you only screamed when you saw his face in your nightmares.
The memory of his touch, the warmth of his smile, the nights you spent loving each other with the sheets tangling in your legs, all felt like cruel illusions now. Yet, a part of you, a stubborn, illogical part, still clung to the love you once shared.
And Gods, did you try to keep yourself as busy as possible. You threw yourself into your studies and little courses here and there, seeking solace in facts and logic. You even began working, a boring but well payed summer job. Yet, the pain lingered, a dull ache that refused to subside.
The more you tried to banish these visions, the more vivid they became. You missed him like a starving man craved a feast, a yearning that gnawed at your insides and threatened to consume you. Frustration gnawed at you. How could you still love someone who'd betrayed you so utterly? How could your heart still ache for a man who chose war over you? The questions echoed endlessly within you, a relentless chorus fueling your self-conscious.
How could you be so weak?
These consuming questions were your companions for a whole year. But as the second summer after Luke's betrayal rolled around, a shift occurred within you. The raw, agonizing pain began to dull, replaced by a quiet resolve.
Finally, you decided it was time to take back control again. Camp Half-Blood called, a familiar haven among the storm. You returned a changed person. The vibrant smile that once adorned your face was a ghost, replaced by a guarded expression that spoke about the pain you harbored in silence. The camp's familiar energy felt hollow, a constant reminder of the happiness you'd lost.
Training became your sole solace. You'd disappear into the arena for hours, your celestial bronze sword a blur as you cleaved through training dummies, each swing fueled by a potent cocktail of grief and anger.
Exhaustion became your closest companion too. You pushed yourself to the limits of your endurance, hoping to find oblivion at the bottom of an empty fuel tank. But sleep, when it finally came, offered no escape. You'd dream of him, leading his army of rogue demigods, his eyes filled with a fanatical zeal that chilled you to the bone. And in those dreams, you'd see yourself, standing beside him, not out of loyalty to his cause, but out of a desperate yearning for the boy you once loved, still love.
In the quiet moments, when your friends weren't around, the dam would break. You'd collapse onto your cool and empty bed, tears streaming down your face, a raw, primal sob escaping your lips. The memory of Luke was no joy anymore, it haunted you like a specter.
You hated yourself for the traitorous flicker in your heart, the desperate, illogical yearning for him. It wasn't the war that tempted you; it was him.
You hated how much you missed him.
The scent of rain clung to the humid night air and to you like a second skin as you zipped up your duffel bag. Another summer at Camp Half-Blood loomed, promising a bittersweet mix of nostalgia and pain, but more training. The worst was yet to come, so you needed to be ready.
New York City, with its cacophony of car horns and the anonymity of millions, had become your refuge these past few months. In Manhattan, the memories of Luke seemed to hold less power for some weird reason, their edges dulling with the passage of time. You'd spent the past months in this tiny apartment, the silence deafening compared to the constant hum of life at camp.
Just then, a sharp rap on the door shattered the silence of your apartment. It was past midnight, an unusual time for visitors.
Adrenaline surged through you. Months of living fully alone had honed your senses. You'd become acutely aware of the city's underbelly – the flickering shadows that could hide monsters thanks to the ever-present mist. You'd seen them stalking the streets, stalking you, their true forms hidden to them mortals, an unsettling feeling crawling up your spine whenever their paths crossed yours. They never attacked, but their chilling presence followed you like a phantom.
Grabbing your necklace, a familiar warmth radiating from the inscription, you asked, "Yes?"
Silence. You weren't taking any chances. Pulling down at the pendant once, the necklace morphed into your celestial bronze dagger.
You took a step, two. Could it really be a monster? Could it really be some creature trying to get to you, by knocking on the door? With a shaky breath, you cracked the door open just enough to peek through the gap, hiding the dagger behind your back.
The sight that greeted you stole the air from your lungs.
Standing on your doorstep, bathed in the harsh glow of the hallway light, was Luke. His dark hair was windswept, his face etched with a gauntness that hadn't been there before, but his eyes – those were the same eyes that had haunted your dreams for months. They held a desperate plea, a flicker of the boy you once loved struggling to break through the hardened shell of the man he'd become.
“Luke?”
The silence stretched between you, thick with unspoken words and a tangled web of emotions. Time seemed to warp in that hallway, a single moment stretched into an eternity. Luke looked different, yes. The carefree boy you knew had been replaced by a man hardened by experience, his features etched with lines that spoke of battles fought and burdens carried. But his eyes, those brown eyes that had once held a mischievous twinkle, now held a deeper sadness that mirrored your own.
"Hi" Luke finally said, his voice raspy.
You stood speechless, the dagger still clutched tightly in your hand. Years of longing warred with the fresh wounds of betrayal. You wanted to scream at him, to unleash the torrent of hurt and anger that suddenly washed over you. But something held you back, a flicker of curiosity, maybe.
"Um, can I come in?" he continued, his posture pleading despite his attempt at nonchalance.
Jesus. Was that all he had to say? After everything, after what he did, all he could muster was a request to enter your apartment? A tide of anger threatened to drown you. Did he not understand the gravity of what he'd done? Did he not realize the pain he'd caused? But you forced your thoughts down. You weren't a child anymore, throwing tantrums wouldn't solve anything.
"Are you armed?" you asked, your voice flat, devoid of any warmth.
Luke flinched at your question, a flicker of pain crossing his features. "You think I wanna hurt you?" he countered, his tone defensive.
"Last time I saw you," you spat back, your voice laced with bitterness, "was three years ago, and I know your little monsters are keeping an eye on me. The first thing I'm supposed to think about is whether you want to hurt me or not."
He sighed, a long, weary exhale. Unzipping his jacket, he turned slowly, patting down his pockets before turning back to you. His eyes, once alive with mischief and love, were now filled with a desperate sincerity. "See? No weapons. Just me."
You studied him, a battle raging within you. One part of you wanted to slam the door, to let him know that he wasn't welcome. Yet, another part, a smaller, more vulnerable part, couldn't help but cling to the flicker of hope that flickered amongst the ashes of your love.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, you stepped aside, allowing a sliver of space for him to enter. "Fine" you said, your voice devoid of warmth. "But you better have a good reason to come here"
Luke hesitated for a beat before stepping inside. He closed the door softly behind him, the sound echoing through the tense silence. He stood there awkwardly with his hands in his pockets, his eyes scanning the room, landing finally on the packed bags besides the tv.
"You're heading back to camp?" he asked.
You flipped the dagger in your hand, and the celestial bronze morphed back into the golden necklace. "What do you want?" you repeated, your voice still sharp, a shield against the emotions swirling within you.
Luke stood awkwardly in the doorway, the once carefree boy replaced by a man burdened by the weight of his choices. His leather jacket seemed to hang heavy on his broad shoulders.
"I…" he started, then stopped, seemingly unsure how to proceed. He cleared his throat, the sound scratchy and unfamiliar. "You look different" he finally managed, the words tumbling out awkwardly.
You scoffed, a humorless sound that surprised even you.
"Look, yn" he finally managed, his voice barely above a whisper, "I wanna talk, okay? I know what I did was wrong. I know I hurt you."
You scoffed, a humorless sound that echoed in the stillness of the apartment. "You could say that again."
His fingers twitched at your bitterness, but pressed on. "I came here because..." He hesitated again, seemingly wrestling with an inner turmoil. "Because I-"
Frustration bubbled up within you. This cryptic approach, this lack of honesty, it was infuriating. "Because you what, Luke?" you demanded, your voice laced with a sharp edge. "Because you decided to grace me with your presence after leading a rebellion against the gods? Or maybe because you just wanted to see if I'm still waiting for you?"
You watched his face harden, the vulnerability replaced by a familiar defiance.
"Don't twist this" he snapped, his voice firm. "I came here because..." He took a deep breath, his eyes locking with yours. "Because I miss you, yn. I miss us."
The air crackled with a tension so thick you could almost taste it.
You took a slow step towards him, then another. He took notes of yourself as you did. The way you had grown internally was so intense that he could sense it everywhere. He might have betrayed you, but that only helped you get on your feet stronger, grow stronger. Become the warrior he always knew you were.
Then, in a move as instinctive as it was fierce, your hand lashed out. The slap connected with a stinging crack, the sound echoing through the apartment like a thunderclap. Luke's head snapped to the side, a crimson handprint blooming on his cheek. Shame flickered in his eyes as he scoffed, quickly replaced by a dull acceptance.
He deserved it, that much was clear.
"How dare you?” you spat, your voice shaking with barely controlled fury, "How fucking dare you come back here after what you've done? After leading a rebellion against the gods, after putting everyone we care about at risk? After betraying me?"
Luke took a shaky breath, running a hand over the burning mark on his face. "I'm sorry” he said, his voice low and ragged. "I'm so sorry. I know I hurt you, and I know a simple apology won't erase the pain or fix things. But you have to believe me, I never meant for things to get this bad"
He stepped towards you, his hands outstretched in a placating gesture, but you flinched back, the space between you a tangible barrier. "Don't touch me" you warned, your voice laced with ice.
He lowered his hands, his shoulders slumping in defeat.
“I know you hate me for what I´ve done. For joining Kronos, I-“
"You think this is all about Kronos?" you cut him off, your voice shaking with barely contained fury. "You think the reason my heart has been broken these past years is because you joined a fucking Titan?"
Luke remained silent, the weight of your words pressing down on him like a collapsing mountain. He knew better.
"This is about what you did to me, Luke" you choked out, tears welling in your eyes. "I was with you, all the time. I was your girlfriend! And you betrayed me. You left me alone” your voice broke so hard that you had to take a second to swallow the big gulp that was forming in your throat. “Everyone at camp looked at me after what you did," you choked out. "They either felt sorry for me, or they insulted me, saying that I was still loyal to you, that I was a traitor."
You closed your eyes for a moment, the pain etched on your face a stark reminder of the devastation he'd wrought. "You were the most important person in my life" you cried, your voice raw and vulnerable. "But you? You let Kronos fill your head with empty promises, and just like that, you forgot about us."
The truth felt like a bitter pill to swallow. He opened his mouth to speak.
"I asked you to come with me" he finally whispered, his voice thick with regret. "I gave you the chance to leave with me."
"And even after I said no," you countered, your voice trembling like the finger that was now pointing at his chest, "you still left. You threw me away like shit. And do you know what the worst part is?" Tears streamed down your face, tracing a path through the dust of old heartache. "That as much as I try, I can't seem to hate you."
A sob escaped your lips, shattering the fragile dam you'd built around your emotions. "I still love you, Luke" you confessed. "Even though it's a love that fills me with pain, it's still there. I hate myself because I dream about you, about the way things used to be. But when I don't, I feel like a piece of me is missing."
You looked up at him, your eyes brimming with tears and a raw vulnerability that left Luke speechless.
What had he done?
"I hate myself because I can't help but pray for your safety, even though you never seemed to care about mine. I hate myself because even after everything, I still love you, Luke."
Your heart felt like a shattered kaleidoscope, a million shards of love, anger, and pain reflecting back at you in a distorted reality. You walked and sank onto the couch, burying your face in your hands as sobs racked your body.
Luke, his heart heavy with a remorse sharper than any weapon, watched you crumble. The carefree girl he fell in love with was gone, replaced by a woman etched with the scars of his own actions. Hesitantly, he reached out, placing a hand on your back as he sat down next to you, a gesture of comfort that felt more like a branding iron on his guilt.
"yn” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion, "I still love you too."
You didn't respond, the sobs coming in ragged gasps as your body struggled to contain the storm within.
"I know I left you" he continued, his voice cracking slightly. "And you didn't deserve it. But… I was so lost, so angry. Kronos promised me power, a solution to all the problems I saw. He convinced me that Olympus was corrupt, that the gods didn't care about half-bloods like us. And when you said no, he-, he told me leaving you behind, said that it would be easier for everyone…"
His voice trailed off. Easier for who? Easier for him, perhaps, to sever the ties that bound him, to plunge headfirst into a rebellion fueled by manipulated ideals.
"But it wasn't" he choked out, a tear escaping his eye, carving a glistening path down his cheek. "Every day, every step I took… it was a constant reminder of what I'd lost. The guilt was eating me alive, yn, you have to believe me”. His hands desperately reached for yours, trying to get your fingers to intertwine by placing his over yours.
Tears welled up in his own eyes. "I regret everything. I mean it. I don't want to do this anymore."
You finally lifted your head, your eyes red-rimmed and brimming with unshed tears. Luke looked different to you now, the bravado and arrogance gone, replaced by a vulnerability that mirrored your own.
"Don't want to do what?" you asked, your voice hoarse.
"This” he gestured vaguely to himself, but you didn’t quite catch it. "Following Kronos. Helping him rise to power. It's wrong. I can see that now."
“Little late to that, isn’t it?” you blurted out.
He took a deep breath, his expression resolute. "yn, there's a reason I came to you. A reason I risked Kronos' trust in me." He paused, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Kronos wants me to become his host."
And the world seemed to suddenly stop. You stared at him, the weight of his words sinking in. Your mind raced, trying to process what he had just said. Luke, your Luke, becoming a vessel for the monstrous Titan?
"What?" you croaked, fear coating your voice like frost. Your eyes darted around, searching for a way out, a solution, anything. But Luke wouldn't meet your gaze, his jaw clenched tight, a storm of emotions brewing beneath the surface. "No. No, he can't. It's not possible."
The thought of him, Luke, being consumed by Kronos, twisted your insides into knots.
Luke, however, seemed to gather his resolve. "Yes, it is" he said, his voice low and strained. "There are things you don't know, yn. Things I've done."
A cold dread gripped your stomach, a physical manifestation of the terror that clawed at your insides. Your mind raced, desperate for answers. "Then tell me" you only managed to say. "Luke, what have you done?"
He hesitated, looking around as if afraid someone might be listening. "There's no time now" he finally said, his voice tight with urgency. "But I promise I will explain everything. That's not why I'm here."
Taking a deep breath, he dared to reach out, his hand gently grasping yours, finally. The warmth of his touch sent a jolt through you, a stark contrast to the chilling fear that gripped you.
He called your name, his voice softening. "Come with me" he said.
You only feel capable of frowning your brows in confusion. "Go where?" you asked, your voice wary.
"Anywhere" he said, like a plea. "Let's run away, together. It can be just you and me again"
He leaned closer, the air around him crackling with a tension that mirrored the storm within you. As his forehead rested against yours, a jolt of electricity shot through you. It was a familiar warmth, a spark that had ignited countless stolen kisses and whispered secrets back when your world wasn't teetering on the brink of war. His other hand cupped your cheek, the touch a stark contrast to the turmoil raging inside you. His hand, usually warm and comforting, felt cool against your burning skin, a physical reminder of the distance that had grown between you. Yet, despite the chill, a wave of longing washed over you, a yearning for the simple comfort of his touch.
But reason tugged at you, a voice of caution in the midst of the storm. "But Luke," you stammered, pulling away slightly, "If you escape, Kronos will come for you. He'll come for us, and-,"
"I don't care" he interrupted, his voice resolute, yet laced with a tremor that betrayed his bravado. It was as if he was on the precipice, teetering between defiance and the vulnerability of a man on the verge of breaking. "I'll fight everything that comes for us. And if the war happens... I'll fight. I'll fight for everyone, I’ll fight for you. I'm not losing you again, yn."
His words resonated deep within you, a desperate echo of the love you still harbored for him, a love you thought you'd buried beneath layers of anger and sadness. You saw the fear in his eyes, a fear that you sadly shared, but beneath it, a flicker of something else – a raw, desperate hope. And as you looked at him, a wave of relief washed over you.
The relief of knowing he wasn't entirely lost, that a part of the Luke you loved still existed.
"I love you" he confessed again, his voice trembling.
Looking into his eyes, a storm of emotions swirling within them, the truth resonated with you. "I love you too" you whispered, the words tumbling from your lips like a long-awaited confession.
The world did indeed, stop. The rain, a relentless symphony against the window pane, faded into a distant murmur. The thunders became a muffled echo. In that moment, the only reality was the space between you and Luke, charged with the unspoken electricity of your confessions.
He leaned in further, a hesitant question in his eyes. A flicker of fear danced in their depths, a scared boy seeking forgiveness beneath the warrior's facade. You watched him, a bittersweet ache blooming in your chest.
With a sigh that trembled on your lips, you closed the distance. Your lips met in a hesitant touch, a tentative exploration of a forgotten familiarity. Three years of longing, of unspoken words and simmering emotions, poured into that kiss. It was sweeter than you'd dared to imagine, a warmth that spread from your lips and drizzled down your chest.
Unlike the passionate encounters of your past, this felt different; like kissing him for the first time. Luke's lips moved against yours with a reverence that sent shivers down your spine. He held back, his desperate desire tempered with a respect that surprised you. You knew him.
But then, you yielded. Your lips parted, a silent invitation, and his tongue met yours in a dance as old as time. A full, heavy and angry thunderclap erupted outside, a jarring contrast to the intimacy unfolding on the couch. But you paid it no mind, lost in the whirlpool of rediscovered affection.
Your arms encircled his neck, a desperate hold. He, in turn, cupped your waist, his touch lingering on the curve of your hip as he gently lowered you onto the soft cushion. His body hovered above yours. His lips, however, remained glued to yours, a relentless exploration that spoke of a love both fierce and fragile.
The kiss deepened, a slow burn that threatened to consume you both. You felt the familiar rhythm of his heart against yours, a counterpoint to the frantic beat of your own. It was a melody of second chances, of unspoken apologies and nascent hope.
His hand trailed down your back, teasingly brushing under your shirt, sending shivers dancing across your skin. You arched into his touch, a wordless plea for more. But just then, he pulled away, his breath ragged, his eyes a storm of conflicting emotions.
His voice, a husky murmur against your skin, sent shivers down your spine. "I missed this so much," he whispered, his lips trailing down the delicate column of your neck and the dip of your collarbone. His warm breath mingled with your own, a heady mix of emotions swirling around you.
Your fingers tangled in his hair, the familiar texture a stark reminder of the past you both desperately clung to. He reached for your pulse, slowly sucking in before letting it pop.
"I wanted to feel you every night" he confessed. "Every night, I dreamt of you." His words were a stark contrast to the cold, distant Luke you saw in your dreams, the only vivid memory you’ve had of him the past years.
"Luke" you whispered, your voice barely audible as you tried to speak.
He didn't stop. His hand drifted down your torso, his fingers brushing against the exposed skin of your lower tummy. Every touch felt like a brand, a searing reminder of what you had lost and the uncertainty that lay ahead.
"It was a mistake" he said, his voice thick with regret. "A big, fucking mistake. Leaving you, betraying you-, it was the biggest mistake of my life. My life doesn't make any sense without you."
With a strangled sound, Luke deepened the kiss, his lips moving against yours with a desperation that mirrored your own. You clung to him, a drowning sailor grasping at a lifeline. The scent of leather that clung to him was intoxicating, a familiar anchor in this storm of emotions.
"Luke," you managed to gasp between kisses, a flicker of reason breaking through the haze of desire. You needed more than just words, needed a binding promise, something concrete to hold onto if you were to take this leap of faith.
He stared at you, his eyes a storm of emotions – desire, confusion, and a flicker of something that might have been annoyance. But before he could respond, you pressed on.
"Swear on it, Luke" you whispered, your voice trembling slightly. "Swear on the River Styx” you repeat. Luke’s eyes dart back and forth, from your lips, to your eyes, to filling up with confusion. “I’m not-,” you cut yourself off as you feel your eyes filling with tears again. You bit your tongue before speaking, “I’m not letting you hurt me like this again"
You knew it was selfish, a desperate attempt to safeguard your heart. But Luke was here, finally, after all this time. You craved the warmth of his touch, the comfort of his presence. The thought of letting him go again, of enduring another betrayal, was unbearable. Yet, a part of you, still scarred from the past, craved a guarantee, an oath sworn on the most powerful river in the Underworld. It was dangerous, yes, but did you care?
Did he care?
Luke's expression hardened. The River Styx, held a weight that couldn't be ignored. The river he already bathed himself in. It was a binding vow, a promise etched in the very fabric of existence.
He looked at you, his eyes searching yours for a flicker of doubt, a hint of manipulation. But all he saw was the vulnerability, the fear – a vulnerability born from the scars he himself had inflicted.
"I swear on the River Styx" he said, his voice low and solemn, each word heavy with the weight of the oath. "I swear I won’t even leave you. I swear I love you. I swear I'll fight for you, for us, with every breath in my lungs."

5 HC about garaki having to hide his fucked up experiments from a small child with big eyes and freckles
1 - The small freckled child is the bane of Garaki's existence and his boss never allows him to just kill him. It would be so easy to wring his neck, he is small and scrawny but nooooo, AFO keeps saying how he can't kill that one, saying stupid reasons like "His family would notice." or "Touching freckled and curly haired children is forbidden".
2 - The first thing the small freckled child did was to mess with Kurogiri because he "keeps reminding him of that tragically deceased student Shirakumo I once saw in a footage of the Sport Festival". The first time, he just said how sorry he was. Sadly, it keeps breaking Kurogiri's brainwashing so the child keeps grabbing their one and unique warper and bringing him home to investigate, forcing Sensei to bring him back and remake the brainwashing every single time.
3 - Then, the Trigger business. He keeps finding people using the stuff and calling the authorities and staying next to them and calming them so they are well taken care of. He is fucking up all of Garaki's data. Six and Queen Bee are not helping at all. The small freckled child talks about Overclock with one and the other finds him adorable and keeps teaching stuff about bees and how they are important for the planet. Years of data and a fortune in research wasted because that damn kid can't mind his own business.
4 - But of course, he hadn't suspected how hellish that kid could be until the Tsubasa thing. Oh, the Tsubasa thing. Never has Garaki regretted so much to murder a child to use him for a scientific experiment in his life? It was like the kid was rabid. The small freckled demon found three of their labs. He kept throwing an explosive kid at the guards that might have actual rabies (the hell pomeranian obviously didn't want to be there). Enraged, Garaki unleashed all of his noumus of him. Somehow, they all glitched at once and when the small freckled demon ordered them to beat his ass, they obeyed. Garaki only escaped thanks to Johnny.
5 - But the worst one was when AFO was injured. That freckled demon somehow broke into his lab, accused Garaki of kidnapping his father for some unholy science experiment, and All Might arrived five seconds later. Garaki is in Tartarus now. His only relief is that his friend and lord was believed to be an innocent victim. But when he heals, Garaki has no doubt that he will avenge him and finally kill the small freckled demon.

Dutiful daughter, all my plans were laid. Tendrils tucked into a woven braid...
Tumblr media
Your chambers. The Godswood. The library.
Every day is the same. The mornings start with your ladies in waiting helping you prepare for the day. Running your bath, carefully pressing your frocks, lacing you up in your bodice. Making sure each lock of hair is in place, the right amount of rouge dabbed against the apples of your cheeks.
You were once a perfect little girl, now a perfect little lady.
Soon a perfect little lady wife.
This is your story, already woven, already told time and time again. The same story for all ladies of your standing.
All you have to do is to be good. And so you are.
Thank the gods for the stories you read, enabling you jump into different lives. Adventures and romances you know you will never have, not truly. But you are happy to play the fool with every page turned.
The library has become your safe haven, your home within your home. Nestled high in the sprawling castle of House Arwen. Nothing can disturb you here. No one.
Or so you thought.
The very first words you hear Daemon Targaryen say to you come across as rather rude. You will find in time that he does not mean to be rude. Not all the time, that is. This is just how he is.
"I have always found that story rather dull. Amusing how you seem to be so engrossed in it, my lady."
"Excuse me, but I will you have you know - " you raise your head, taking in the visitor. Or intruder.
"Prince Daemon," you rise from your seat, offering a well-practiced curtsy. An instinctive move of obeisance for a lady like you.
He barely acknowledges your gesture, his face flat and impassive. "That book. I was forced to read it in my youth. Our Maester all but shoved it down my throat."
You immediately do not take to his aporoach. That book is one of the most famous tales from Old Valyria. He should know, being of Valyrian blood and all.
"I believe there is much to like about this book, my Prince."
"Such as?"
"Well, it depicts a warrior knight of Old - "
"Some warrior knight," Daemon scoffs, not even letting you finish your statement. "He gave up his powers for the love of a wench he knew for just a fortnight. He had every chance at glory but he squandered all of it away. For what?"
"For... for love?" comes your response, though you know he did not really want one.
For someone who claims to dislike this story so much, he sure knows it well.
He mindlessly taps his fingers on a nearby shelf, eyes lazily reading the titles. Drifting through the room with the unmistakeable disdain of someone who is used to having so much, the world practically by his feet, but is disinterested with it all.
You think that you could fall dead right then and Daemon wouldn't care. Wouldn't even bat an eyelash. He rolls his eyes at your mention of love, and it does not help your impression of him.
"There are only two things worthy of love in my eyes, my lady, and that is power and blood."
"Blood? Well, my prince, family is one of the most important - "
"Blood is not the same for me as it is for you. My blood carries a legacy of fire and magic, being of Old Valyria. You would not possibly understand how I hold my blood in high regard."
Oh may the gods strike him down now.
Your hands clench into fists, pressing against your skirts, but you don't have it in you to notice the unladylike gesture. All you can think of is letting him have a piece of your mind. "A family can have a flock of sheep or a horde of dragons, my prince, and it makes no difference to me. Your family is your family, your blood is your blood. But whether you choose to love them does not solely depend on blood."
It is as if he sees for you for the first time then, the moment you show that you have your own voice, and that you will not simply cater to his whims.
He turns eager to press you further, make you break, make you cave in. "What of you, my lady? What is it that you find worthy of love? Family, I presume, from your poorly formed argument? What about a lord husband?"
"I do love my family," you nod. "And when I do wed, I am sure I will love my lord husband just as dearly."
He walks closer, but does not stop in front of you as is the polite thing to do in conversation. He circles you, and you feel exposed by the way he openly takes you in. "Oh, but how will you know? You do not have a choice, do you? How can that be love?"
You do not answer right away, for the prince has just voiced one of your biggest fears. What if you do not find love in your lord husband? What sort of life would that entail? One which you have been preparing for since you entered womanhood, one you always thought you would be willing to accept. It is your duty, after all.
So you say just that. "It is my duty, and if I am able to fulfil my duty, then I am certain that will bring me happiness."
Daemon scoffs, his lips forming a self-righteous sneer. "In the story, do you then think that the warrior knight would have been better off fulfilling his duty and abandoning his love?"
"It is not the same."
"It is exactly the same."
"No," you emphasize, "because he had a choice. I do not."
He had stopped right in front of you, a bit too close for comfort, almost as if he needs to lean in to scrutinize you fully. "Love is the death of duty, my lady. Take my word for it, you would be far better off playing your role. If you truly wish to honour your family, you would not fall in love at all."
He's so close that you can feel his breath fanning your face. If you didn't know any better, you would believe that simply being so near Daemon Targaryen is the reason why your body feels like it is on fire. He gives off heat like a furnace, like a dragon.
Maybe he is a dragon. Is that not what they all say about Targaryens?
You open your mouth to take a breath, lest your throat also burns from the dry warmth, your stomach curling adding to your nerves. It prompts you to ask, "What about you, my prince? Has duty stolen every chance you have at love?"
His eyes draw downward to your lips, and his faint blonde lashes catch the light. The Rogue Prince does look otherwordly. Everything you have heard about him has been inadequate.
His violet eyes meet yours once more. "I would not bother with such frivolity. As I said, my lady, power and blood are all there is."
"Perhaps so. Perhaps true love only exists in the stories that I read."
"You are learning," he nods, and offers what might be his first genuine smile to you.
"Nevertheless," you step away from him, and carry your book back to the shelf. "I do not fault the warrior knight for choosing love over glory. I would choose as he had done, if that were a possibility."
His response is glib, but not meant to offend. "Then you are a fool, my lady."
"I wish I were a fool, my prince," you smile, lowering your gaze. "Aren't all fools happy?"
"You wish nothing more than to be mere mummer who has found happiness in love."
"If only," you say. It's surprising how easy you're finding it to engage in conversation with him. It feels like you have known him for many moons and not only for this moment.
The Rogue Prince, of all people. Which begs the question, what is he doing in the library of House Arwen?
"Pardon me, my prince, but why have you graced us with your presence this morning?"
He turns serious, almost bored, that he has to acknowledge the reason for his visit. "My brother, the King, has sent me to relay an official decree to your Lord father. He is to accept the position of Master of Coin for the small council."
"He... he is?" you swallow. This would mean that you have to go with him and live in the Red Keep. This also signals that your betrothal to Tyland Lannister is afoot. Your father had recently paid a visit to Casterly Rock to arrange for your marriage to Tyland or Jason Lannister. If it is to be with Jason, you would be sent to Casterly Rock. If Tyland, your father would take the offer to be part of the small council. You are to accompany him and begin courtship with the Master of Ships.
At least it will be Tyland and not Jason.
"Yes, I am supposed to meet your Maester here in the library to deliver the royal decree," Daemon replies, the task so insignificant to him, unaware that he has just delivered news that determines the course of your life.
Not that it makes any difference. Your father has always wanted to join houses with either the Lannisters or the Baratheons. Forge a true Westerosi alliance. It seems that he will finally get his wish.
Your thinking gets the better of you, and you stand unmoving, the weight of duty suddenly feeling too much to bear.
Daemon's face scrunches in what can misconstrued be concern. But surely he isn't. He must only be uncomfortable at your sudden silence and blank expression.
"Is something the matter? Are you not pleased that your father is graced with an opportunity such as this?"
"Of course. I am sure that he would be delighted."
"You do not seem to be."
No, you aren't. While you have met Tyland Lannister before, there was never any attraction there. From your side and his. Yours would be a marriage of convenience, for the benefit of both Houses.
How I wish I was the warrior knight.
"It matters not how I feel, my prince."
There is movement by the doors, and the old Maester rushes in all out of breath.
"My prince!" He calls out immediately. "My deepest apologies that I have kept you waiting."
Daemon pays him no mind. His attention is solely on you. Conscious that the Maester observes the exchange, you clear your throat. "I shall take my leave, my prince. The Maester will see to you now."
You tilt your head and curtsy in farewell. As you pass by Daemon, your hand brushes against his, the pads of his knuckes rough against your own. The first and likely the only time your skin will come into contact with his, you strangely think with regret. Still, it catches you off guard and you feel a sensation like needles pricking all the way up your arm.
"My lady," he greets, and under his breath, making sure the Maester cannot hear, he adds, "my lady fool."
Another smile is shared between the two of you.
Love is the death of duty, he had said. Sooner rather than late, you will find out just how it rings true.
Tumblr media
Supper with your Lord father is but another constant. You have always been grateful for it, especially since the passing of your late mother.
He is the only family you have around, with your elder sister already married off to some Lord in the Riverlands. She has already done what was expected of her, securing an alliance for House Arwen and bearing children for her Lord Husband.
The mantle has been passed on to you. It was never something to ponder over, as it is not something in your control.
Do your duty. Play your role. Pray that you never fall in love at all, Daemon said.
But might I fall in love with Tyland? Should that not be what I aim for?
"I heard that you encountered Prince Daemon this morning," your father says. "I trust that you acted accordingly as befits his station."
"Of course, father."
"Though it matters little to me how that rogue prince fares." The derision in his tone cannot be contained. Your father has never held Prince Daemon in any regard, viewing him as a waste of his titles.
"The Prince was gracious enough to exchange pleasantries with me."
Pleasantries. Never mind how he mocked your story, your family, and by extension, you.
"Careful, daughter. Prince Daemon is never loathe to chase after the nearest skirt that catches his fancy. I feel for his newly betrothed, the Lady Laena Velaryon. Far too good for him, that one."
"Daemon is betrothed?" you ask, unable to hide your surprise. Last you heard, his wife Rhea Royce passed in a tragic hunting accident. You also heard the whispers that she perished by her husband's hand.
After finally meeting him, you would not count it as an impossibility. But some part of you does not want to believe that he could be capable of something so vile.
"Yes, Prince Daemon has been betrothed once more. No doubt the most fruitful union for their Houses," your father confirms. With all this talk of betrothals, you already know what is coming, but your stomach sinks all the same when he adds, "as will be the union of House Arwen and House Lannister, dear daughter. You should consider yourself highly fortunate. I have toiled considerably to bring about your betrothal to Tyland Lannister."
"Of course, father." The words are empty, worn through, forever echoing in your ears.
Of course. I will do my duty. What is love after all, but a passing fancy, mere fiction entombed in between pages?
Tumblr media
The red scales of the infamous Blood Wyrm glisten under the bright sunlight.
Caraxes lets off an ear-splitting screech as Daemon guides him across the skies.
"Daor tolmiot sir." The Valyrian smoothly comes from Daemon like a song. Not far now.
Not far from the seat of House Arwen in the Westerlands. His destination, for some unknown reason.
Just the seventh day after he was sent to deliver the decree, he finds himself returning once more. It is the day that your Lord father, yourself, and the rest of your envoy are set to ride for King's Landing.
And Daemon has decided to extend an offer to you, the Lady Arwen, one that might infinitely expedite your travels.
There were a myriad of justifications floating around in his head. He found out that you are betrothed to Tyland Lannister and his actions on this day would no doubt ruffle the preening lion's mane.
Anything to needlessly anger a Lannister, Daemon would enjoy.
He would revel in the pleasure of bespoiling such a prim and strait-laced Lady such as yourself. It would be like sport to him.
It must also not be forgotten that this would rouse the ire of your Lord father, who has never held any love for Daemon and vice versa.
All these reasons make complete sense to Daemon. All but one which he does not allow himself to entertain.
That he wishes to see you.
Who are you, if not just another proper wench with your honour and your faith for the Seven Gods up your arse? Daemon has much more discerning tastes, from dragonrider to tavern whore, but never one with your disposition.
You are nothing to Daemon. No one.
But that does not mean he will refrain from indulging in the pleasure of causing chaos.
The clouds part as Caraxes dips lower, revealing the outline of your meagre castle.
"Sepār ilagon konīr." Daemon refers to the inner courtyard where a line of carriages await, precious possessions being lugged onto them by footsoldiers.
Caraxes dives down with precision, his wings casting a shadow over the courtyard as he suddenly descends, leaving everyone startled.
Daemon's boots heavily crunch against the gravel as he jumps down, and he scans the wary crowd for his prize.
Soldiers rising to attention, bowing their heads to their prince. Ladies-in-waiting openly ogling him as he draws nearer. The Maester and his apprentices approaching him with rushed greetings springing from their mouths.
And then, there you are.
Standing just behind the small crowd, whispering hurriedly to your companion. You shush when you spy Daemon heading right for you.
"My prince." You perform the usual curtsy. Daemon thinks the movement does not suit you. He much preferred it when you were getting riled up at his remarks back at your library.
"My lady," he greets. "Lovely weather we are having, is it not?"
You appear confused, your eyes narrowing and nose scrunching for but a brief moment, and Daemon relishes in prompting such an unguarded expression. But it reverts back into your polished smile.
"Yes, it... it is, my prince. Forgive me, but I was not aware that we were expecting you."
No. Of course not. "Let me rephrase that. It is lovely weather for dragonriding, and I am inclined to think that you would enjoy the journey to the Red Keep."
"I am afraid I do not follow."
Daemon gets right to the point and his next words ring true, leaving no room for doubt as to his intentions. "My lady, I would like for you to ride with me."
Your posture becomes slack, and you gape at him like he has grown a second head.
"That would be inappropriate, my prince."
"No," he sneers. "It would be inappropriate if I take you for myself right there on the dragonsaddle, my lady, but I merely wish to offer a ride."
Your companion blushes profusely at his words. Apparently the image affects her so much all she can do is stare at her feet.
You, on the other hand, are unyielding. Your eyes blazing right through his own violet. A nagging voice in Daemon's mind insists that this is what he came for. Nothing else.
You finally say, "It is unbecoming of me to even entertain that notion, Prince Daemon. My Lord father and my betrothed would surely not approve."
Daemon takes a step closer, and the two of you stand nearly toe to toe. "But do you not wish it? Do you not wish to fly on dragonback? Much like the heroes in your stories I would wager."
"Those are just stories. It would be foolish of me."
Daemon laughs dryly, "My lady, is that not what you are? A lady fool who dreams of adventure and love?"
You frown when he has you cornered, your thoughts whirring in that foolish head of yours. Daemon feels the need to run his thumb over your pursed lips.
Perhaps I am the foolish one.
The Maester interrupts, breaking the impasse, nervously looking between the two of you.
"My prince," he says, "if you came to speak to the Lord Arwen, he is still in his chambers. He should be on his way down shortly."
You glance at the Maester then back to Daemon, awaiting his response, but he has none to offer.
You tilt your head disapprovingly at his outright discourtesy until he extends his hand to you. "My lady," he says with sincerity, "you shall be made a good lady wife soon enough, but today I invite you to be foolish with your prince."
It is the Maester who speaks, "My prince, the Lady Arwen must not - "
But you rudely interrupt, a newfound fire blazing in your eyes. "Is it as exhilarating as the stories say?"
"Enough to please a fool," Daemon replies.
With a smile, you fit your hand right into his, consequences be damned.
Tumblr media
I may not write for him as often, but Daemon just might be my favourite to characterize and the most fun to weave stories with 🖤
This is a fixed miniseries, with a more or less fixed story, so it will only a three-parter.

Content under the cut!
You sighed and stared at your reflection in the water below your feet. Your heart felt heavy and your shoulders were slumped. You had stepped away from the group to not ruin their good day with your sour mood.
It's not like they had anything to do with it.
It was just a bunch of little things that kept piling up and you hadn't been able to mentally or emotionally sort through them all until they were all short of crushing you.
You toe the water, watching the ripples move away from your disturbance. A little voice tells you that someone is no doubt to check up on you, but you're not sure if you'll be able t hold yourself back from snapping at them.
Just as soon as you thought it you can hear quiet footsteps come in your general direction. They're deliberate. Smooth but heavy.
It's Time.
You curse internally. He's the last person you want to address this. You don't think he'll take kindly to being snapped at and you respect him too much to want to risk any damage to your small and fragile friendship. You repeatedly chant for him to leave and send someone else in your head.
It can't be him. It can't be him. It can't be him.
"Hey." You greet him before you have the chance to cringe and cry. You're going to try and be normal. You're not going to take out your frustrations at him.
He sits next to you, letting his feet dangle into the water, much like you are. "Hey."
You feel like biting the inside of your cheek. Can't he just go away and let you mope in solitude?
"Do you want to talk about it?" He says softly. It's tender and soft, you would have missed it if there was literally any other noise around you.
Your breath hitches and tear finally pool in your eyes at the thought of release. You shake your head.
Time hums, not liking your answer but accepting it. You honestly thought he'd push more.
"Come here." He says instead, holding out his arm.
You hesitate but finds yourself crawling over and into the side hug. Time wraps his arm around you and holds you firmly into his side. He keeps his other arm behind him, putting most of his weight into that one instead of putting his whole force into crushing you against him.
The thought causes the first tears to escape out of you even as you try to stifle the sound that threatens to leave as well. Time rubs your shoulder in a comforting way, not saying anything as you finally let out all the emotions that you've been holding to yourself.
The Old Man says nothing and lets you cry until there's nothing let for you to shed. You feel raw and tired. You pull away from Time to see the massive wet splotch you've left on his shirt but he doesn't seem the least of bit bother by it.
"I'm sorry." You mutter. Your voice sounds weak even to your own ears. "...I got your shirt dirty."
"Soap and water exist." He mutters just as tenderly as before and brushes your hair out of your face. "Feel better?"
Do you?
You take a moment to take stock of your emotions. And the answer... is a little gray. "No." You answer. "But I'm tired now."
Time hums once more and pulls you back to his side. "We don't have to go back yet."
"Time?" You say, but then think better of it. "Link?"
"Yes?"
"...Thank you." It feels better to say that than to apologize again.
"You're welcome." He looks over to you and kisses your forehead. "Some days are harder than others. It's impressive how long you've been able to keep this to yourself."
"I didn't want to be mean to anyone when it was just a 'me problem'." You admit, feeling emotionally wrung out and ready for a nap. "Did I worry the others?"
"Yes." He doesn't try to sugar coat it. "But they're understanding boys. No one is going to hold it against you."
You nod and let yourself be held by him. "I'll be ok."
You're not sure if you're trying to convince yourself or him.
But he smiles and hugs you a little tighter.
"Yes, you will be."

Dead By Demon
[Killer!Alastor x Survivor!Reader - Dead By Daylight AU]
Tumblr media
By some interesting world reason or whatever phenomenon that is still unexplainable to your feeble little mind, you got sent to a game you’ve been forced to play by your friends called Dead By Daylight
It’s a horror game that’s designed to be a match based game. Each game there are 5 players, 4 as survivors and 1 as the killer. In each game, the players are all sent to a randomized map. Each side with a different goal
The goal of the survivors is to survive, how? By fixing 5 machines called generators, then 2 exit doors on the map will be allowed to be opened and the survivors can escape through that. The killer’s goal is to kill all the survivors, either offering them to the entity by putting them on another machine called a hook or executing them
Of course, the game is not as simple as that, since there are other variables that can give the players advantages and disadvantages. Not to mention the play style of each gamer is different, on top of the ever changing maps and new characters for survivors and killers. As a beginner moving to somewhat more causal player, you were proud to say you are familiar with the mechanics of the game and can survivor flawlessly
THAT IS IF THE KILLERS AND SURVIVORS WERE THE SAME AS THE GAME YOU KNEW
Somehow, the killers and survivors were all major characters from a show you watched called Hazbin Hotel. You didn’t understand it, when you were brought in, they were all familiarity with the game’s mechanisms. Everything that happened in the show was distorted as their background information
You were a survivor. The others were Charlie, Vaggie, Angel, Husk, Niffty, Adam, Lute, Sera, Emily, and Saint Peter. You’re not surprised the hotel staff was all put in the survivor side, but you were surprised that the angels were all on your side as well. By guess, you can bet that the King of Hell and Overlords were all the killers
You learned that the hotel staff members were the first to arrive on the scene, then they were quickly sent to the maps of their former allies, Alastor and Lucifer
Alastor was formerly a radio host and serial killer during his days as a human, his maps were based on his hometown but the variety spread to a few, including his beloved home with his mother and the murder scene of his father, his radio broadcasting studio and work station where he writes his scripts and ideas, his swamp where it was his body dumping grounds, and his forest where it was his hunting grounds and death
Lucifer as the King of Hell also has a few maps. One was a smaller scale of Pentagram City, another was his garden, then his ducky workshop and kitchen, and last was his musical room which was still a giant map
There didn’t seen to be an issue with the first map as the 4 sent survivors were keen on escaping and Alastor was keen on killing them by placing them on hooks or executing them. For Lucifer though, he was a softy for whenever Charlie was present, always letting her survive while showing no mercy to the others
The first match was the scariest since they thought their lives were on the line, but when it was clear that they were only dead during the match and revived when the match ends, everything was more chill
But that depended on the killers and survivors. If there were bad blood between, things could get petty like taunting and letting other teammates die. If the killer wanted, they can watch the survivor suffer a bit before killing them. It was a twisted repeat day after day. Luckily, it was only 3 matches a day and the same survivor won’t be allowed to join more than 2 matches a day
Matches are placed in the morning, afternoon, and night. All players are random unless one volunteers, to which the opposite side would be notified and no other volunteers are allowed to allow for fairness. Matches can be quick or slow, depending on the players. Rewards for a win in a match are what the player wants. Like better living quarters, better food, entertainment items, etc
Outside of the matches, survivors and killers live in separate areas divided by a wall of flowing water. If a survivor or killer is injured, their condition will be fully revived during the match but returned to the way they are if they lost the match
All these information was all so overwhelming for you since it was on top of trying to adapt your new surrounding, but they were all used to it since it was slowly introduced to them. The second wave of survivors were the angels from Heaven and then the rest of the Overlords
It was only a matter of time before you also got used to all the stuff that you were thrown into
There was one change after your arrive. Whenever you were in a match, any other participants had more control over their own actions and mindset. The former desire to survivor or killer was weaken to none the longer and more experienced and familiar you got. You even found yourself getting familiar with the killers or former Overlords
Albeit you were trying to survive by buying time through chatting. The highest of success was high usually. Sometimes it doesn’t work because you don’t know much about them cause there was a lack of information revealed in the show
However, even though Alastor’s a favourite of yours. You hate being in the same match as him. Watching him from the safety of your home when he was just fictional was fine, but having him chasing you with a knife or a shotgun and a crazed smile? No! HELL NO!!!
Whenever it was revealed that Alastor was the killer in your match, you would immediately run to find your other teammates no matter who they are. You just can’t be left alone with him, even when you serve as a good bait to buy time and let your teammates fix the generators so they can open the exit for you to run towards
“There’s a limit to my mental stamina!!” You screamed at the top of your lungs while running away from the deer demon behind you. “I’m so beating you guys up when this match is over!”
Meanwhile, all your teammates are mentally thanking your sacrifice. “Keep up the good work, almost there.”
Before your arrival, Alastor could never enjoy his hunt. It was like he was wired to hunt and kill, there was no thrill, no entertainment as he would prefer. It was so dull and boring
Find a survivor, scare them, chase them, stab them till they can’t run, put them on a hook and watch them die or go hunt the other survivors, repeat repeat repeat. That was how predictable the matches became after the first few times. It got to the point that he doesn’t even try anymore when he was sent into a match, especially when he was so well off in his living conditions
He didn’t need the wins anymore, it was all meaningless
Then he heard from Zestial who got the honors of participating as the killer for your first match. He told the others after the last meal of the day when everyone was gathered around a bonfire to see if someone wants to volunteer for the next day
According to Zestial, when he entered the random map that was Carmilla’s weapons workshop, there was a weaken desire to hunt and kill the survivors, even more so when it was the unfamiliar figure he met. He had found a survivor fixing a generator, he tried creeping up to the poor soul, but your head was looked around as if you felt him
The moment he got one step closer, you bolted up and ran away from the area. His hunting and killing urge came back and he gave chase, when his claws came into contact with your figure and you screamed, he felt an unfamiliar ache. He watched your speed increase and ran out of sight as it was normal whenever a survivor was slashed by a killer, then he looked down to his bloody claws
That inferno desire weakened again, like he was returning back to his true self when he was outside of the match
Killer’s volunteer table was quickly filled up as everyone wanted a chance to test Zestial’s words. Though, only some were able to actually be in the same match as you, and fewer got the chance to see you. Turns out, you were a sensitive and perceptive survivor. If you were a killer, they knew you’d be something like an assassin or a sniper
When Alastor finally got a chance to experience a match with you, he was relieved that he could pick a target like the good old days and not whichever survivor that was around. Or even the ‘obsession’ that was randomly picked in the survivor team per match. He felt sweet control to do as he pleased
So he set out to find you. His mind raced. Will he hunt and give chase like his desires drive him to in his previous matches? Will he immediately try to slash you and bring you down so he can hook you? Will he have that weakened desire like Zestial did? What was your effect? Why are you special?
Finding you was easy as lucky wasn’t on your side. You were diligently trying to fix the generator but ended up busting it every so often which alerted him of your location, then that teammate of yours, Adam, as he recognized the golden wing design on his back, leave you and didn’t even warn you of the incoming killer
He got a fast ambush, a deep slash on your arm that definitely need mending else risk being rendered immobile. You quickly ran away like other survivors would, no difference. Yet, he was just standing there watching your form fade from his sight, leaving a trail of blood splatters in your wake
His legs moved as he decided he can’t let you out of his sight. No way, not after he felt that control and real killer instinct. The sound of the hands of the clock above your head rang repeatedly while your attention was on the shelves in front of you, you were looking for a book to complete your subjects and you couldn't reach it, so on tiptoe, you leaned against the shelves.
"y/n" hearing your name whispered made you awkwardly move away from the shelf, a taller figure behind you reached for the book and set it down for you, your breathing hitched when the presence of that pale boy landed next to you with the book in his hands. "this book?" he asked you.
"Oh yeah, thanks" with a frown you looked at the book in his hands which he didn't seem to be offering you, so you just waited wondering to yourself, why was Park Sunghoon helping you pick up a book? The boy never approached anyone or talked to anyone, although he was very popular he was also very low profile and was not interested in helping or talking to anyone. The boy looked at you for a few seconds, from head to toe with some curiosity, but then he looked at the shelves next to him.
"This is not the section I need" he ran his fingers over the backs of the books arranged alphabetically. "But I saw that you needed help, maybe now you can help me find the anatomy books?" He asked his question this time looking at you, who without realizing it, was still staring at the book he had in his hands, wanting him to give it to you quickly and having no interest in talking to him. You didn't want to associate with sunghoon, he was the last of the popular boys that everyone needed to associate you with and you were already starting to get tired of that. You were used to everyone talking about you, making up rumors about you and it went in one ear and out the other, but lately the rumors were too much, for example: you fucking all the most popular boys in your school, among them sim jaeyun and his group of friends, which even one was heeseung, your best friend's boyfriend. Yena didn't mind, in fact, she knew the truth and Heeseung also ignored it and they both told you not to give it importance, but you couldn't stand it if it already involved other people you loved.
"The anatomy books are at the other end of the library, very far from here" a voice and footsteps came next to you and when you two looked, jaeyun was approaching and giving you a smile. "Hi guys"
"Hey man, what are you doing here?" Sunghoon gave his friend a smile. You knew that Jaeyun and Sunghoon were very close since they were often the ones who were seen together the most and it was something that caught everyone's attention since they both had very different personalities.
"I was just passing by here" of course was a lie, who was "just passing by" the library? But he shrugged his shoulders and when he looked at you, he noticed your gaze on Sunghoon's hands, so subtly took the book from his hands and pretended to skim through it superficially.
"Ah, that's her-" Sunghoon pointed his head at you, you were now looking at Jaeyun with a slightly indescribable look and Jaeyun continued playing with the book in his hands, but without stopping holding your gaze. Sunghoon understood that it was time to leave, since he had already noticed how Jaeyun had not stopped talking about you or looking for you all the time, so he sighed lightly trying to hide the amused smile on his face and after saying goodbye to you, he left to look for what belonged to him.
“Hello Y/n” Jaeyun extended his hand that was holding the book and you reached out to take it, but he raised his arm and left it out of your reach, forcing you to come closer to him. A smile formed on his face when he saw you confused, you tried to take the book again and he pushed it further away. "You know, I discovered that I don't like seeing you with other guys, especially if he's one of my friends. I know his intentions." His voice was deep and conveyed so much tranquility that it didn't seem like he had made such a possessive comment, so you were perplexed. You didn't know how to respond to that confession before. "I want all your attention for me if possible. I'm very jealous" accompanied by those words he put an arm around your waist and pulled you slightly. You rested your hands on his chest and looked at him with trembling pupils, making him laugh and leave a kiss on your cheek. "I love it when you are speechless"
"What are you saying?" You rolled your eyes, completely trying to look disinterested and pushed him with your hands that were on his chest, he stumbled slightly and without wiping the silly smile off his face, he walked away, lowering his arm and allowing you to take your book. "Why are you here?" you asked, holding the book to your chest and searching in the shelves next to you even if you already had what you needed.
"I was looking for you" he put his hands in the front pockets of his pants and watched you search through the shelves. "I wanted to talk to you"
"Talk to me?" You left your place and began to walk slowly through the corridors of the large library heading to your place where you had left your things. Jaeyun began to walk next to you, not wanting to miss even a moment of being able to see your face.
"So Yena and Heeseung are going to your house tonight and you didn't invite me?" his voice was loud because the library was quiet. You stood in your place for a moment, looking ahead while jaeyun analyzed every part of your profile.
"I thought you'd be busy? I mean, you always have someone to hang out with, especially on a Friday night" you gave him a look. If you were honest, you had it in mind to ask him if he would like to accompany you, but you were also embarrassed by the idea of asking him and looking like a fool. Deep down, you were afraid that he would reject you and disillusion you.
"It offends me that you tell me that, I'm not interested in hanging out with anyone anymore, you know?" He put an arm around your shoulders, bringing you closer to him. "I just want to hang out with you"
You didn't know if he was serious, if he said it lightly like everything he used to say, or if he was just being flirty like every day he talked to a girl. At this point you didn't know how to react to him. Jaeyun had been following you and accompanying you everywhere for the last few days, paying you more attention than you expected and looking for you every chance he had. You didn't know why he acted like that but it didn't bother you, at first it did bother you a little because you were still a little embarrassed with him because of everything that had happened between the two of you, but gradually you got used to his presence and you were already comfortable with seeing him or having him around you. As you also discovered that he wasn't just a flirtatious fuck boy who lusted after all the women around him, in fact, he was someone fun, respectful and kind, very attentive and easy to get along with. You liked spending time with him.
“Okay, then come tonight” you continued walking causing his arm to fall from your shoulders. "Come spend time with us, not just with me" you tried to make your words clear, but with his silly smile on his face he interpreted those words as he wanted.
"Yes, of course I'll go spend time with you" with a smile he followed you to pull your arm, bringing you closer to his body again. He loved having you close to him. "I'm looking forward to spending time with you" he approached you and gave you a kiss on the forehead "see you tonight, sweetie" with those words said, he walked away from you happily and left the library, leaving you alone and confused, a little blushing and eager for the night to come.
That whole scenario had happened that afternoon and you had spent the entire day repeating it in your head over and over again until the moment the boy rang your doorbell and you let him in. If someone had told you just a month ago that you would have Sim Jaeyun on a Friday night in your living room hugging a pillow and lying on the couch playing with his phone, you would never have believed it. At the time in which you had met him in the library and you had told him to come spend time with you, you had been very brave with your attitude and your words, but now you were desperate looking at the screen of your phone waiting for a response from Yena who hadn't sent you a message all afternoon.
Yena: babe, did you really think that we would be there ruining your chance to fuck sim jaeyun? don't be naive and enjoy it a lot <3
A gasp stuck in your throat and your legs shook uncontrollably, you found yourself forced to hold on to the back of the chair next to you to keep from falling. Your gaze went up and landed on the back of the boy's head, who was still in his place on the couch, still looking at his phone and waiting for you, who had gone to the kitchen with the excuse of offering him something to drink. Seeing him so relaxed and comfortable running his hand through his hair without stopping to look at his phone screen, which he was looking at with a somewhat bored expression, you thought about the conversation you had a few days ago with Yena.
"You are winning Sim Jaeyun's heart, no one ever believed that would be possible." You stopped in your place suddenly as you walked through the school hallways and she looked at you. "What's wrong?"
"Winning his heart?" It seemed like an exaggeration to you to hear her say that. Why would you of all people win his heart? You didn't have problems with your self-esteem or your physical appearance, but you knew what the girls Jaeyun used to date were like and they were very different from you. In fact, it even seemed strange to you that Jaeyun had noticed you even if it was for something at the moment.
"Well, yes" she shrugged. "You've seen. He rejects all the girls who try something with him, he always looks for you to talk to you when you two meet somewhere and when you don't, he also looks for you. When I see him with Heeseung he always asks about you. He's blind because you" Yena couldn't hide the smile that formed on her face just remembering Jaeyun's silly look when he heard your name.
"You're delirious, Yena." You let out a laugh and continued on your way. "He must already be stuck in some girl's sheets recovering his fuck boy reputation, there's nothing to worry about." You sounded disinterested, but deep down in your innocent heart after seeing how he treated you when you were together, thinking that he was with another girl disappointed you deeply.
"No, you are very wrong." Yena sounded serious with her words. "He hasn't even talked to any other girl again, he told heeseung himself, he said he can't find any girl that catches his attention and then he only proceeds to talk about you. Don't you dare say he doesn't feel attracted to you, y/n"
You sighed and walked towards the living room again, the boy stood up in his place and without taking his eyes off you, he watched you leave both glasses on the table in front of you and sit on the couch quite far from his body.
"Are you okay? You're a little pale" the boy laughed at the absurd image. When he had arrived, you had received him very cheerfully and you had even been sitting together talking for a long time, but suddenly you began to get nervous and disappeared, only to return in that state. "What happened?"
"It's nothing" you responded quickly, you turned your body to face him and noticed how his eyes traveled all over your face analyzing each of your features. "Yena and Heeseung aren't coming" you shrugged, desperate to show yourself disinterested, but Jaeyun already knew how to read perfectly when you were nervous. He let out a laugh and approached you, practically sticking his body to yours, which was cornered against the backrest and arm of the chair.
"That's good, don't you think?" He moved the hair out of your face and rested his arm on the backrest behind you. "I was dying to be with you alone, don't you want to spend time alone with me?" His hand behind your back played with your hair that fell loose, causing you to shiver from his soft touch. You nodded, you felt that if you spoke your words would fall halfway. "Are you nervous?" A slightly arrogant smile hung on his lips as he continued to corner your body, leaning over you. "Do you want me to get away from you?" When he said those words, his body leaned back a little, but you rested a hand on his shoulder, stopping him. He smiled in agreement and held your hand that was on his shoulder, intertwining his fingers with yours.
"I like spending time alone with you" you admitted, in a way you felt a little exposed to reveal that, but you couldn't help it because that was how you really felt with him. The moment you received Yena's message, despite your nerves, deep down in your heart you were immensely happy because you had wanted to receive that message from your friend. "You make me a little nervous, I don't know why" his eyes that continued to wander over your face were accompanied by his hand caressing your cheek.
"I like to make you nervous" his face had a smile, but not that typical seductive smile that you were used to seeing so much, it was a different smile. "I like your innocence disguised as the confidence you have" his body got even closer to yours and his face getting closer to yours. "I like you" were short and simple words, but they had a great weight that you couldn't finish processing. You looked at him for a few seconds, waiting for him to add something more and then joke, but you noticed how sincere he was and that made your stomach twist with nerves or excitement, that feeling made you jump into his arms and kiss him. Jaeyun couldn't help but smile at the kiss and putting his hands on your waist, he leaned over you, laying your body on the couch. "I'm serious, I like you a lot. I thought I only liked knowing things about you that no one else did, I felt like it gave me a certain power to see you vulnerable, but then I discovered that I couldn't stop thinking about you and that damn naive smile accompanied by those innocent eyes." He attached his lips to yours again, this time with more force, making you moan into his mouth. As soon as he laid a finger on you, you became a mess with your heart racing and your skin becoming sensitive to his touch.
His arms wrapped around your waist and your legs around his body, he effortlessly lifted you off the couch and you guided him to your room at the end of the hallway. His lips were still glued to yours while she held you against his body and you clung to her shoulders tightly. He gently placed your body on the bed and crouched between your thighs, his hands on your waist going under your shirt caressing your hot, prickly skin as he looked into your eyes. You put your hands on both sides of his face, holding him gently and your hands traveled through his hair slowly, not being able to believe the beauty of the boy who looked at you as if you were what he was waiting for all this time.
"I really like your eyes and your lips... and your whole face" you told him, your hands gently tugged at his dark hair and he giggled, then leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your thigh. You were wearing shorts so the entire skin of your legs was exposed.
"You're so pretty." His hands caressed your thighs and went up to the waistband of your shorts, feeling the elastic as he waited for your reactions. "Can I take it off?" He asked, you swallowed and felt the nerves run through your body, but you still nodded and leaning on your hands on the mattress, you raised your pelvis off the bed allowing him to slide your shorts down your legs.
"You really are so beautiful, I can't believe I have you like this all to myself" his fingers slipped into the elastic of your underwear and he began to slowly lower it, without stopping looking into your eyes, his gaze telling you to trust him. "I want to kiss and worship every part of you, will you let me?" His hands squeezed your knees, prompting you to open your legs wider for him. At this point your entire body was completely flushed and tense, your breathing slightly labored. You could only nod, lost in his gaze that was so convincing. "Lie back and relax, okay?" Jaeyun approached you and placed a kiss on your lips before gently pushing you by the shoulders and returning to his spot, where he positioned his face between your legs. His lips left short kisses on the inside of your thighs, hands caressing your legs as you squirmed under his touch. “Calm down” Jaeyun left one last kiss on your thigh. "Are you sure you want to continue?" he asked, his voice calm and low, without any pressure as patiently waited for you to accept or refuse. You loved that, that he always asked you before doing something and that his attitude didn't change depending on your answer.
"I'm sure" you leaned on your elbows and saw him between your legs, his eyes were so expressive that you thought your heart would stop. When his gaze made contact with your shiny and wet pussy, his eyes were shining and he licked his lips, you let your body fall to the mattress again trying to hide your shame and you closed your eyes tightly when you felt his eyes on your most sensitive part.
"Will you let me touch you? I want to eat you out." When you heard him, you couldn't help but moan and nod embarrassedly.
"Yes, yes. just do it" you felt his hands press your thighs apart, lifting your legs that rested on the edge of the bed and his face buried in your pussy, feeling completely happy to finally be there. He left a kiss on your pussy and you felt faint, it being the first time you had experienced something like that, without time to say anything, his warm tongue pressed against you and you moaned loudly. Jaeyun reached for one of your hands that was clinging to the sheets beneath you and intertwined his fingers with yours and your other hand went to his hair. You pulled his hair hard as his tongue moved and he couldn't help but be more aggressive with his mouth, wanting to taste and have more of you, also bringing his fingers to your pussy "Jaeyun-" you sounded desperate as he continued to eat you out and touching you fervently. "I think I'm close- ah" you were very sensitive and his touch was too much for you, so it was quick and easy to bring you over the edge. A loud moan escaped your lips as his fingers entered you and his lips closed on your clit. Your head was spinning as you pulled his hair tightly, making him moan against your core. His hand, which held yours tightly, gave small squeezes at times and at other times, his thumb caressed you, giving you peace of mind. Your body shook and moved against his face helping you reach your climax. Your back arched against the bed and you could feel Jaeyun's kisses on your thighs as you fell back against the mattress with your breathing and heart pounding.
"Are you okay, baby?" His fingers drew patterns on your bare legs, completely comfortable with your fluids staining his mouth. You leaned on your elbows again and the image of the boy in that state between your legs overwhelmed you, so with the hand that still held his, you pulled him, making him come closer to your face, your hand holding his face as your thumb ran over his shiny bottom lip, his big bright eyes watching you intently as he leaned on his arms on either side of your body. You caught his lips, feeling the tongue that had previously plunged into you, was now in your mouth rubbing against yours. Your own taste in his mouth made you feel things you had never felt before and made you want even more. "Do you want to continue? Because we can just keep kissing the rest of the night and believe me, I will be the happiest man in the world just by being by your side." He planted a kiss on your lips as his body rose and leaned over yours resting on the mattress.
"Yes, I want to continue" you nodded as you hugged his body to yours. "I trust you for this, I really want this with you." Those words were enough for Jaeyun to grab the hem of your shirt and take it off, leaving your breasts exposed. His arm wrapped around your waist and he spread kisses all over your torso, touching your breasts and nipples with his lips and tongue, your head fell back as you let out a gasp of pleasure. His body separated from yours and he got rid of his clothes, you felt your mouth go dry at the glorious image of his well proportioned body naked in front of yours.
"God, you don't know how much I want to be inside you" he kissed you again needily, feeling like he couldn't take his lips off yours, and his hand went to your crotch, caressing your still sensitive and swollen pussy. "I don't want to hurt you, baby" his fingers caressed the entire length of your pussy, spreading all your wetness that was almost dripping down your legs. Your body writhed beneath his and you whimpered almost desperately.
“Please, jaeyun, I’m ready” your hand went down between your bodies and you wrapped your hand around his hard cock, going up and down slowly. The boy squeezed his eyes shut and pressed his forehead against yours, letting out a quiet moan. "I want to feel you inside me" your barely soft touch made him feel on cloud nine.
"Please don't do that" his voice sounded like a plea. “I feel like I'm going to cum right now” you tightened your hand around his cock, pumping a little harder. You heard him moan almost painfully and his fingers that were still in your pussy slid easily inside you, making you moan into his mouth. “Y/n” your name sounded weak in his voice as you continued to jerk him off a little harder and he pressed on your clit, forming that knot in your stomach again. You both moaned loudly as your bodies erupted in orgasm and you felt his hot fluids run down your thigh. "You're so good, I need to be inside you" he desperately separated himself from your body and approached his pants on the floor, taking a condom from his pocket and after opening the small package, he wrapped it around his cock. His body was back on yours and again, looking into your eyes to read every expression on your face, he came up to kiss your forehead. "Are you ready?" His hands went to your waist and your arms rested on his shoulders and you wrapped them around his neck, bringing him closer to you and you smiled shyly at him.
"I am" you nodded and your voice sounded shaky, you didn't know if it was because of the continuous waves of pleasure that your body was receiving or because of the fear of the unknown experience that you were about to live in those moments with the boy in your arms. You didn't distrust him because you knew that he would be careful with you and would do everything possible to make you feel good. You watch as Jaeyun guides his cock to your entrance and closing your eyes you cling to his body, his other hand caressed your back as he slid the tip inside you, a hiss escapes from between your clenched teeth and jaeyun held you tightly.
"Tell me if it hurts, I'll go slowly" he warns you, you nodded to his words containing a sigh and jaeyun nodded with you, keeping his word and sinking very slowly and deliberately inside you. You tremblingly hang on to his shoulders and he, wrapping his arm around your waist, lifts you from the bed and presses your chest against his, hugging you tightly. “Relax” he murmurs into your hair and kisses your head. You feel it completely inside you and you feel uncomfortable as your walls expand due to the intrusion, a small pain accompanies the sensation but it wasn't as bad as you thought. You hear him let out a weak moan when he is fully inside you and you take a deep breath.
"Are you okay?" You make a small noise of affirmation that is enough for him to stay calm. “You're so tight, god” your walls clench around him and you elicit another moan from him as he rests his head against your shoulder. "Do you want me to stay like this?"
"Move, please"
"Okay, pretty" nodding, he moves his hips back and slides into you again this time without pauses, easy to slide into you as if your body were ideal for his. The uncomfortable feeling slowly begins to leave your body as you feel your walls stretch and clench around him with each gentle thrust. "You're doing so good. You feel so so good, fuck, this is incredible" His words sounded weak and were lost in the air between your moans, you hid your face in his neck while you felt your body shake by his movements, your nails dug into his shoulders when one of his hands went down between you and brushed his fingertips against your clit, making you feel strong pleasure.
“Ah- wait jaeyun, I-” you closed your eyes tightly feeling the words get stuck in your throat. "I'm- I'm close, oh god, please" your legs wrapped around him, pulling him closer to you as your body began to shake and you tightened around him, his lips placing kisses all over your blushing face as you pulled away from his neck.
"That's it baby, keep going" he took a deep breath and increased his pace, taking you to your limit. "Come on, cum for me, you can do it" as he continued moving inside you, you hear him say a couple more nonsense words and how he moans deeply. "I'm cumming" he groaned. A couple of thrusts and you feel his cock tremble inside you, both orgasms hitting at the same time and you desperately clinging to his body, gasping and moaning against each other, both of you feeling your bodies relax. Your head was somewhere else and you felt your completely heavy body fall onto the bed as Jaeyun let go of you and pulled out of you letting out a hiss, walking away and leaving you on the bed with your eyes closed and your breathing heavy. You hear his soft laugh in the background and a soft damp towel is passed over your thigh where he had previously cummed. You open your heavy eyelids slowly and see Jaeyun next to you, his hair messy, his face a little flushed with his red, swollen lips and his eyes bright as well as his big smile. "How do you feel?" he asks in a low, somewhat raspy voice.
"I'm perfectly fine" you stretch your arms forward and he leans back on you lightly, letting you wrap your arms around him, his fingers caressing your hips lovingly. He leaves a kiss on your neck and takes the blanket next to you, covering both bodies. Your hand caresses his back while you feel how he leaves warm kisses on your chest, your neck and your entire face, as if without saying a word he was thanking you.
"I have something to admit to you" he said. You murmured for him to continue. "I told Yena not to come because I wanted to be alone with you. I hope you don't get angry with her or with me" You let out a laugh and shook your head, how could you be mad at him if he just made you have the best night of your life? He smiled when he noticed that you were okay with it and kissed your forehead gently. "Listen Y/n, I don't want this to be just a casual thing" you open your eyes and look into his eyes, his gaze sincere as he said those words. "I want to keep seeing you but I would like us to have something... more, I can't just see you from time to time and pretend that you don't cause me anything. I like you a lot and I don't want to see you with anyone else other than me" he admitted, catching her lower lip between his teeth with some nervousness and you gave him a tired smile as you nodded at him, while you felt those typical butterflies flap their wings in your belly, something you had never felt before with anyone.
"I like you too, Jaeyun" you felt that saying that was enough. He let go of his lip that he was biting nervously, he approached your face and kissed your lips tenderly. You closed your eyes again and felt the heaviness and exhaustion hit your body.
"Don't faint, baby, you still have a lot to experience" he let out a laugh and buried his face in your neck, your stomach turned with nerves and your heart was pounding in your chest, matching the accelerated and excited heartbeat of the boy who couldn't stop smiling happily.

You two always toyed around with the idea of getting you a dog bed, and always had joked about you giving him head while he was in the middle of a game. You never suspected it to become a reality until the day you came home and there was a dog bed under his desk, big enough that you could lay on it.
Yunho hadn't even noticed you came home, and was busy playing valorant with his friends. You knew exactly who he was playing with too, but you didn’t mind at all. You take a few steps over to him, gently patting his shoulder. He pulls one of his headphones out, and looks over his shoulder at you with a smile.
“Hi, welcome home.” he says, excitedly. You glance at his second monitor and see that he isn’t muted yet, so you reach down to the cable of his headset, and quickly mute him.
“Whats this?” you ask, leaning over him a bit and gesturing to the dog bed that sat under his feet. Honestly, it did look really comfortable. Yunho’s eyes dart down to it, then back up to you and he gets a nervous look on his face.
“You don’t want to..?” he trails off, but you shake your head, before you can even think. He perks up, and the smile returns to his face. He scoots his chair back just a bit, and gestures for you to move under his desk. Your eyes widen, and your lips part slightly, feeling the all familiar heat in your belly start to pool.
“N- not right now. Can I get cleaned up before?” you ask, sheepishly. Yunho chuckles, and shakes his head, almost in disbelief.
“Clean up? What for? I’m just going to make a mess of your pretty little mouth anyways.” A gasp rockets out of your mouth, and you can feel your knees give out just a little- you’re sure there’s a moan trapped and ready to escape instantly.
“You're in a call though… Yeosang and Wooyoung will hear, surely.” you try to find any excuse to not do it right now, but it seems like Yunho is set on his decision, entirely. He wouldn’t give you any leniency now, he had enjoyed this thought since it first came out of your mouth.
“I’ll be quiet, don’t worry.” Yunho smirks, gesturing to the dog bed again. You want to do as he says, but your feet are glued where you are stood. Yunho’s gaze flickers to his screen before groaning. He grabs your wrist and tugs you over to him, you grunt from the force but allow him to pull you. He plants you in front of him, before looking up at you from his seat. “Be a good puppy, and get on your knees.” he says through gritted teeth, your eyes fly open again and your stomach feels like it just exploded into butterflies, and you can feel your core start to ache for him.
You swallow hard but do as you're told, moving down to your knees. Yunho pulls his hands from you, and scoots his chair forward, making you have to move back down onto the dog bed. He puts a hand on your head, ensuring you don’t hit your head on his desk as you lower yourself. He looks down at you, pulling his headset back on, with a sly grin on his lips. He caresses your cheek, passing his thumb along your bottom lip before hooking it on your bottom teeth. You’re surprised by the sudden whimper that leaves your lips. He gently pulls his hand from your face before patting your cheek, forcefully which dazes you for a moment.
With one last look at you, Yunho grabs something off his desk.
“I trained you so well,” he grins, pulling away from you again, making you whine softly. He beckons you forward just a little, and you oblige, scooting forward. You notice his hands move in a rotating fashion, and it doesn't take too long for you to figure out he was holding a silk blindfold. You suddenly remember the one time you mentioned that the idea of being blindfolded and losing all sense of control was hot.
You watch as he wraps the silk in his hands, then pulls his hands apart, revealing two silk pieces. He sets one on his desk, and leans down to grab your hands. Your eyes widen and you watch as he guides both of your hands behind your back, and leans over you, to tie your hands behind your back. He pulls away, and looks at his monitor again, before scooting his chair forward, back into you. You stumble back a bit, but catch yourself and move back under the desk, seating yourself between his legs.
“Sorry my love, the round started.” he mumbles, reaching down and unmuting himself. You can see the silk blindfold dangling off his desk, as if it were mocking you. You huff and try to pull your hands out of their restraint but apparently Yunho was really, really good at tying things because although it was loose, you could not figure out how to free yourself.
“How am i supposed to suck your dick if i can’t use my hands to pull your pants down?” You grumble, and Yunho uses his knee to nudge you, to be quiet. You whine softly, and roll your eyes before scooting forward. You can see just by the bulge in his pants just how hard he was, and you wondered how long he had been waiting for you to come home and deal with this.
Yunho groans and slams his hands against the desk, slumping back in his chair.
“No, that Reyna is just too good. I hit her for 50, but she used her heal.” Yunho grumbles, to his teammates. He huffs, and looks down at you, his eyes follow yours. He mutes himself again, before grabbing your chin and forcing you to look up at him. A moan escapes your lips, and he twitches at the sound.
“Aren’t you a stupid little thing? Can’t figure out how to take my pants off?” He grins, cocking an eyebrow at you, before letting go of your head. “I’ll help you.” he croons, his hands falling to the button of his pants and undoing it. You watch as he slowly unzips his pants, and lifts his hips out of his chair to pull his pants down.
You hum in satisfaction, a small smile crossing your lips as his hard dick springs from his pants. The heat in your belly grows hotter and hotter just by the sight of his size- just knowing how deep it can go inside of you. You let out a little breathy moan, a little more eager for his dick in your mouth than you anticipated. Yunho lets out a light laugh, admiring how pathetic you look. He looks up at his monitor once more, and scoots his chair back in. He reaches under the desk and grabs a fist full of your hair, pulling you as close as he can get you, before stroking himself once.
“Be a good girl and let me use your pretty little mouth however I want, okay?” He whispers, his grip in your hair tightening, eliciting a small whimper out of your lips. You nod in response, but he raises an eyebrow and tilts his head at you. “Use your words, puppy.” He growls. Your legs immediately feel like jelly under you. You groan, and nod again.
“Okay.” You mumble, his lips form a straight line, dissatisfied by your response, but he knows you don’t like it when he gets super pushy, so he drops it. He lets go of you completely, letting you stumble forward into his chair, you take a second and watch his attention go back to his game- watching his slender fingers press the unmute button on the cord of his headphones, the heat in your belly just growing more.
You push yourself forward but Yunho's faster, and before you know it, the tip of his dick is pressed into your lips. Your eyes fly open, and look up at him, but he’s not even paying attention to you. You roll your eyes, before opening your mouth. He jerks his hips a little, and you look up again, seeing his face twitch for a split second.
“Two in showers, Harbor hit for 85.” Yunho mumbles a command to his friends, but doesn’t look down at you, and his hands are still on his keyboard and mouse. You close your eyes, and hollow your cheeks out, flattening your tongue against his shaft. You can hear the breath in his throat catch, and he tenses up just a bit. You start to move your head slowly, careful not to make any sounds that his mic could catch and expose the two of you to his friends.
“Fuck!” Yunho groans, thrusting his hips up, making you gag on his dick. You go to pull away but Yunho’s hands immediately come to your head, holding you down. He thrusts into your mouth, and you can feel the tip of his dick hit the back of your throat, making you gag against him again. You try to pull away, finding it hard to breathe and you’re already getting dizzy, he holds you there for a few more seconds, pushing his full length down into your throat. He lets out a little moan before letting go, and you come flying off of him, gasping for air, tears streaming down your cheeks.
“You’re so fucking pretty, puppy. God.” Yunho reaches for your face again, his thumb catching against your bottom teeth again, and pulling you back to him. His eyes never even met yours, they were glued to your lips. You blink a few times at him as you catch your breath. He moves his thumb further into your mouth, and your mouth clamps shut down around his digit, your tongue swirling around his thumb before he pulls it out with a quick ‘pop.’ “Such a pretty little thing. So pathetic.” He groans, wiping your tears away from your eyes. He chuckles at the sight, before taking another fistful of your hair and pulling you back to him.
He doesn't even give you a chance to prepare yourself for him again, before he’s filling your entire mouth again. Your nose is fully pressed against his pubic bone, and he lets out another moan. His eyes darted to his monitor, confirming he was muted. He sighs softly, and loosens his grip on your hair, just a bit. He bunches your hair up, and uses it as leverage to move your head to a pace he likes. He has absolutely no regard for how you feel right now, your only job right now is to pleasure him and that’s exactly what you’re doing.
“Fuck, your mouth feels so good.” He groans, as you hollow your cheeks once more. He looks down at you, and wipes a few more of your tears away, his hand lingering on your cheek for a second, before pushing you back down, his dick hitting the back of your throat again and making you gag again. He moans, and holds you there again, before pulling his hands from you once more.
You whine, not liking that he won’t give you his undivided attention, and you watch again as he unmutes himself again. You roll your eyes again, before moving to the head of his dick. You swirl little circles around the head of his dick, and every so often giving it a rough suck, making him jump- you watch as his muscles tense up, and relax with each movement you make.
This time he seems to have a harder time keeping himself collected. Every single movement you make, quick or elongated, seems to get a reaction from him, even if your movement is limited due to your hands being tied behind your back. Your eyes flicker back up to the silk blindfold on his desk, which seems to be mostly forgotten about; which you were grateful for- seeing the effect you had on him was too good to miss. His twitching muscles, the way his lips would part slightly, and the way he eyes fluttered shut whenever he had a second to relax.
“f-Fuck!” He groans again, as you lick up his shift from the base to the tip, taking the tip into your mouth and sucking on it harshly. He snaps a hand down to your hair, grabbing a fistful of your hair again. “N-no i’m fine, i’m okay.” Yunho says through gritted teeth, looking down at you with a look of pure pleasure. He huffs, shaking his head at you and looking back up to his monitor.
Once more, you watch his long fingers press the mute button, and you grin, innocently at him.
“Brat. I’m trying to play a game, you know?” Yunho growls, and you giggle softly, which only makes him look visibly annoyed with you. You try to take him into your mouth again, but he pulls you back by your hair. “Naughty puppy. This isn’t how I trained you.” he scolds, and your mouth falls open slightly, a whimper escaping your lips. “I’m gonna cum down your pretty little throat, and you’re gonna take every last drop of it.” He says, casually. You feel your muscles clench, and you whine and nod in response. He raises an eyebrow at you, and clenches his jaw.
“I won’t waste a single drop, Yun.” you mutter, and he makes a hum of satisfaction, loosening his grip on your hair. He moves back towards you, and you take his dick back into your mouth, flattening your tongue against him. He groans and thrusts up into your mouth, making you moan against him.
“Fuck, I think I like looking at you like this.” He groans, finally taking his headset off, setting it on the desk. His full attention is on you again, though you kind of liked when he wasn’t paying a lick of attention to you. You look up at him, tears forming in your eyes again as he continues to use and abuse your mouth and throat.
Your tear stained cheeks, your eyeliner mixing with your tears as they run down your cheeks, makes you look so pathetic. He loved when you looked like this. So small, so needy, so desperate all for him.
He growls, letting his head fall back, as his hands hold your head still. He fucks up into your throat at a punishing pace, and you can feel your throat beginning to feel raw and sore. He lets out a moan, his grip on your head tightening.
“Oh, fuck.” He moans your name, a sweet sound coming from him, making you moan in response. Your moan against him makes his dick twitch in your mouth, and you brace yourself, knowing he’s about to explode down your throat. He loosens his grip, letting you pull away and catch your breath before moving your head back, pressing your nose to his pelvic bone before.
He looks down at you, smiling once more at your pathetic, tear stained cheeks.
“Fuck, so fucking pathetic. You stupid dog.” He moans, his eyes closing. Your moan against him again, and the feeling makes him jolt- his dick twitching in your mouth before spilling his seed down your throat. “Oh my god, fuck.” He moans, the grip on your head so tight, you could swear he was about to pop your skull.
He pulls you off, both of you panting heavily, and covered in a slight sheen of sweat. He drops your hair back around your shoulders, and quickly runs a hand through your hair. He scoots his chair back slightly, leaning over you again to untie your restraints. You sigh in relief and watch as he grabs his water bottle, and hands it to you.
“Wha-?” you stare at him for a second, and he raises an eyebrow at you.
“What? You don’t want water? I just abused your throat.” He chuckles, and you nod, taking his water bottle from him. You didn’t realize just how badly you needed the water, as it soothed your sore throat. You sigh, and hand it back to him after a few long sips. He puts it back on his desk and holds his hand out to you. You take his hand, and he pulls you to your feet, then right into his lap.
He moves his head towards you, capturing your lips with his in a sweet, tender kiss. You can’t help but smile against his lips. He smiles back, and pulls away, looking at his monitor.
On the screen, you have to squint a bit, but you see it.
In the discord, the words ‘yunho, you forgot to mute.’ were written on his screen; leaving you both, now absolutely fucking horrified.

Let's talk about my favourite duos in each IH campaign. . Not the player duos but the characters. Since all the players have the amazing chemistry with each other and know how to build relationships etc.
It's why most of the campaigns just go hard with Found Family with the exception of A Crown of Candy. . That's just Family. But the others - 100% found family.
FANTASY HIGH
All 3 of the campaigns in this world.. the Bad Kids friendship with each other is so heartwarming and sweet it's amazing. The kids are also traumatised as well as forced to grow up into the world. But also how they really do care for each other. So choosing a duo for each year was bloody hard.
Freshman Year : Gorgug and Fig
Honestly yeah. The friendship between Gorgug and Fig is basically why they started Fig and the Sig Figs. Fig got Gorgug into drumming to help with his rage etc.
Sophomore Year : Fabian and Gorgug
How can you not love this duo. They really come into their own this season. It's the hug when they reunite in the Nightmare Forest. Like take the fact that the first interaction these two had at high school was Fabian punching Gorgug. . Then to share a hug after Gorgug told Fabian that he remembers him.
Junior Year: Riz and Kristen
The class president and her campaign manager.. what's not to love. Honestly Junior Year was tough for me to pick a duo since I love all the duos out there. But Riz and Kristen take it. It's Riz watching Kristen when she goes and talks to her parents. It's him backing her play towards the Rat Grinders as well.
The Unsleeping City
This setting I feel like is one the underappreciated campaigns or the underestimated ones. Like it's not underrated. This weirdly has turned into my comfort campaign, I just can't get bored of this setting. Give me more urban fantasy settings D20 please. Like this campaign setting literally gave me my 3 favourite NPC to PC relationships (Ester and Ricky, Dale and Sofia, Liz and Kingston). In the first chapter, you get the very good example of "you don't need every character to have insane character development in order to tell the best story" in Ricky. Chapter Two has sort of the similar vibe with Ida and Rowan.
Chapter One : Kingston and Pete
The Voxs .. I could write an essay on the relationship of these two. The growth and development of both of them. Like come on. .from Kingston telling the rest of the team that he will and would put Pete down if Pete goes out of control... To apologise and revive Pete during the Robert Moses fight. The father - son relationship.. these two had
Chapter Two : Ricky and Cody
The Journey of these two is one of my favourites. Just the duo of Zac and Murph 100% helped, but the growth of the duo was soo good. Ricky and Cody, the paladins of the group are doing insane damage in the final fight.
****
A Crown of Candy : Lapin and Liam
There is a lot to say about the duos of ACoC. They all have their story to tell. They all grow. But the Lapin and Liam story is very bitter sweet. But the reunion between the two of them when Lapin saved the kid and told him of the Bulb etc, was so cute. Like literally the smile and small laugh from Lapin from Liam told him, that he will kill "that carrot".
****
Starstruck: Barry and Margaret
This season was hard to pick. They all are soo good and chaotic. But Barry and Margaret duo was honestly a good duo. The call to arms tactic, Margaret brought in. Make the already protective Barry, more protective.
****
Neverafter : Mother Goose and PiB
Just the two voices of reason of the group. . . Yeah PiB being the voice of reason half the time was very interesting. Like if a trickster spirit is telling the group to calm down a little or reign it in then oh boy. .. but Mother Goose and PiB are such an interesting duo. I honestly quite like the old man and his cat....
(also kinda clocked most of them are the quartet of Zac, Ally, Murph and Lou. . that's not intentional at all... )

Hello! I hope you are in good health.
I was wondering, can you do an alphabet with Ghost? Please, and thank you.
Take your time! <3
hello, and i am in good health.
yes, and your welcome..
i hope this is okay, my first time doing this!
Tumblr media
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
ghost is not affectionate, at all. he is the opposite, antisocial, distant, detached.. reader will only find him affectionate if he's delirious or drunk.
and if reader happens to find him in either situations- which is rare, he'll show affections by just.. touching. he's touch starved, and since he is in a delirious or drunken state, he doesn't know what he's doing.
most likely will pass out, with his head into your neck.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
hm, best friend..?
you'll have to be in the team, task force 141. otherwise, ghost does not interact with strangers. now, best frienddss?...
years, years of work together. years of staying alive, and mutual respect.
be admirable! be impressive, try and catch his eye. if you manages to beat him in sort some of a competition, he'll respect you more.
( i personally think you can beat him if you play your cards right. i think ghost is a risk-taker, so.. use that to your advantage.. i guess. )
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
no.
gO aWay! he'll throw you across the room if you fuckin' cuddle with him! he has claustrophobia, and help me god if you lay on top of him-
anyways, no. no cuddling.
go.
get out.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
NO, no and nO!
he is an workaholic, and his friends dying- might i add, in front of him, only encouraged him to pursue his work.
he is guilty, he feels like their deaths is his fault. and to honour their deaths, he'll continue his line of work.
running away from his work is cowardiance, and a disgrace to his friends' deaths.
no. if he settles down, he can't bear the haunting grief setting on him.
he lives, and got to settle down.
they didn't.
and he (didn't) caused their deaths.
he doesn't deserve to settle down and rest, not after all he done.
the souls of his friends' faces looking at him, with teary eyes. saying "why are you resting?? after you got us killed?? why aren't you getting revenge for us?? you traitor-"
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
straight up to your face. he seen much worse. he'll just bluntly say "i'm done with you, its over."
he has nothing to lose.. well, he lied.
he's not over, he just wanted to end the relationship because he doesn't deserve this, and he feels like you could get a better guy.
a whole man, not half of a man; like him, a shell of a human being.
and he is sort of holding you back from touching him, he doesn't trust you very much either.. so this relationship is hardly beneficial to both parties.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
he is very committed.
not.
if he thinks you're going to dump him, he'll dump you first- to save him from the pain of abandonment.
no marriages, he'd cry, crumble and break again if he sees you in a wedding dress.
he doesn't deserve this, go away go away go away-
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
physically, he's.. cautious but not? for example, if you and him are training. he'll go sheer hard and will use everything he have against you.
no exceptions.
a woman? who cares, lets fight. you're in a goddamn military for fuck's sake. no one is going to go easy on you in real combat.
( you get hurt alot because of him )
EMOTIONALLY?
eMOtIONALLY??
this man, is stone hard, cold, blunt, brash, sassy, and act like he HATES you with his GUTS. he does not let you close. sure, he'll say a few words here and there, but he's not actively revealing his personality to you.
stone cold, ghost.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
hates hugs. it reminds him of his family, roach and johnny all at the same time.
never, he doesn't do it once. even if you and him are best friends. you tried hugging him once (he was having a mental breakdown), he punched you square in the face and shakily left the room.
.. no one knows how his hugs are like, everyone who felt his embrace died and never could tell the story.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
never, and not fast at all. he hates that word too. again, his past.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
doesn't really gets jealous? more like sad if he sees you hanging out with another man more.
abandonment, but again, he did keep pushing you away..
his fault, i guess.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
he never kissed. i dont know.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
i think he is a gentle man when it comes to them, he looks out for them of course. but he doesn't really .. hug.. or do affectionate behaviors- bending down, makes him smaller- less frightening to the kids- he doesn't really do this.
more like a guard dog around them.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
you dont know, he's never there when you wakes up. he's up and gone.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
he appears rarely. and if he is sleeping next to you, he'll have some sort of barrier (aka, pillows) blocking you from touching/reaching out to him.
you keep waking up because he keeps squirming.
you get used to this eventually.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
I DO not think ghost will reveal things about himself.
he'll just be a different character around you, but never exactly saying his identity (aka, age, full name, how his parents was like, his backstory, etc). just more softer, kinder, and more.. willing if he warms up to you.
does. not. share. his emotions.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
he's very patient, a patient man indeed. no.
he's not patient, he just sounds patient. inside, he's angry.
and every now and then, you'll encounter his outbursts on you. bottled up feelings, leashing hell.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing or do they kind of forget everything?)
remembers everything, but he will forget sometimes.
R = Remember (What is their favourite moment in your relationship?)
when he made you laugh, a geninue laugh. it felt nice to make someone happy and not make them upset/sad/annoyed.. y'know...
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
he's protective but not. depends. if you're hanging with a friend, he won't be "HmMmm, ARE YOU SUSPSICOIOUSS???" or try to y'know, get you away.
how? get a guard dog, and he'll also train you about self defense, and what-to-do if this happens.
does not feel the need to be protected by you, and he thinks its a bit offensive. you think he can't protect himself??
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
he does put a lot of effort, however, no dates, or anniversaries...
he'll give you plenties of gfits!
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
a really bad texter, so expect to get left on read often.. and! staring.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
not insecure about his looks, he knows he looks good. but he is a bit nervous when it comes to showing his scars.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
he's already incomplete, wouldn't make any difference. although, it does make a slightly more void in his life.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
doesn't sleep often. he's the type to just..stare at his ceiling or longue around in his room and wait til another mission comes up or something.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
dislikes laziness, in terms of your work ethic. likes somebody who is as committed and hard-working as he is to their job.
HATES. betrayals (also one of the reason why he doesn't quit his working)!! and he does not like dependent people.
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
he usually fall asleep on sofas, or on uncomfortable things. the bed is wayy too soft for him, not used to it..
NEED SOME LIGHT ON!! in the dark, he sees faces and it creeps him out.
he doesn't like it, so he need some light if he want to sleep better.

Third time’s the charm
Adam x fem!Reader x Lucifer
Warnings: none<3
Chapter 3 | Chapter 4
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Arriving home, the couple had two very different moods. Adam had a smug look on his face, chest swelling with pride. He felt as if he had won the entirety of this petty fight. “The nerve of that guy, am I right?” Adam scoffed, turning to look at his wife with that very same, smug expression.
He was expecting her to be happy, since he practically just saved her from Lucifer’s advances. However, the sight he was met with was not a pretty one. His wife wore a nasty glare on her face, arms crossed over her chest as she stared right into his eyes. “Care to tell me what that was about?” Y/N forced out her words as nicely as she could, yet a hint of anger was still heard. Adam only stared at the woman with a confused expression, clearly not understanding what his wife was hinting at.
“What do you mean? The meeting went fine, did it not?” He hummed, dismissing his wife’s concerns as he took off his mask, placing it on its usual spot in their home. Y/N’s face reddened in anger, hands clenching to regulate it. “The thing you said? ‘I swear on my wife’?” She spat at him. Y/N has never been this angry before. Her husband only blinked, staring at her like a deer in headlights.
He really didn’t have a clue..
Suddenly, it seemed like it clicked for him. However, he seemed extremely defensive. “I don’t know why you’re making such a big deal out of this. It was a joke, there’s nothing wrong with trying to joke around. You’re my wife, not his.” He shrugged, simply walking past her, upstairs to their shared bedroom. The shorter woman stormed after him, eyebrows still furrowed. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “Are you even aware of the severity of that situation, Adam? You swore on me! You made a deal with Lucifer.” Word after word poured out of her mouth, trying to make Adam see that he was wrong, that he had messed up big time.
Adam spun around, cutting his wife off with a sharp glare, crossing his arms over his chest. “God, don’t make a scene out of this! It was a joke. I’m sure nothing bad is going to happen!” Never had he ever raised his voice at his wife, but the trauma he suffered because of his ex-wives caused him to act irrationally, even though his current wife gave him no reason to not trust her.
His hard-headedness made her snap in a way. He was selfish for only thinking of himself during this whole interaction and the situation itself. What about her? Does she mean nothing to him?
“You’re a spineless coward, Adam! You sold me off to Lucifer with those words you said earlier! You’ve condemned me to an eternity of torment if you even make a slight mistake during the next extermination! I thought we trusted each other more than anything, did my love mean nothing to you?! I curse the day I was created for you, you despicable excuse of a husband!” Her words stung like sharp knives, stabbing into his heart with precision over and over again. For the first time in forever, the first man was silent. Usually, he always had something to say, especially at a time like this to protect his ego from being bruised. Now?
He’d even go as far as saying his wife was right.
“Little flower, I-” He was immediately cut off by Y/N, not having any of it. “You do not have the right to be calling me that now.” She scowled, sending him one last, nasty glare before retreating into their shared bedroom. Adam wasn’t expecting a simple meeting to result in him fighting with his wife. Alarm bells immediately went off in his brain when he saw his wife angrily stuffing clothes into a bag. Shit, was she actually leaving him?
A panicked expression made its way onto the man’s face as he rushed towards his wife worriedly, trying to take her hands in his, yet to no avail. “Honey- what are you doing? Please don’t do what I think you’re doing!” His voice was wavering, his entire body seemingly filling up with dread. He was afraid. Afraid of his beloved leaving him. Afraid of his past repeating itself once more.
The woman stopped for a moment, a sigh leaving her body. She was an idiot. An idiot for loving that buffoon of a man. She zipped up her bag, turning to look at Adam with an almost emotionless face. Deep inside, she felt the same pain her husband felt.
Their hearts were still one and the same, after all.
“I’m not leaving you. I just need some.. space. I love you so much Adam, but this whole situation is really getting to me.” She might love him, but she still needed space. Lightly throwing the bag over her shoulder, the angel straightened her posture. “I’ll see you, Adam.”
Y/N looked at her husband, her eyes being the only thing showing emotion were her eyes. With a now dejected expression, Y/N quickly walked past her beloved. She couldn’t bear looking into his eyes. Whenever they had a little quarrel, Adam always used his eyes to his advantage.
Adam stared after his wife, feeling as if he had lost everything in such a short amount of time.
In the entirety of Heaven, Y/N only had one true friend, which just so happened to be the head Seraphim. Sera took her in without a second thought, tending to her broken heart, listening to all her worries and problems.
“Come, now. You will be fine, I am sure of it. You and Adam are one. He might not be the sharpest tool in the shed in serious situations, but now that he realized his mistake, I’m sure he will be extra careful during the exterminations.” Sera always managed to calm Y/N down, the motherly tone in her voice being the main cause of that. The heartbroken woman sighed, pulling her wings further around her body to make it look like she was hiding in a cocoon. “I know, Sera.. but that doesn’t change the fact that he did it.” Whined Y/N, a soft groan of frustration leaving her right after. Sera gave a small yet sad smile, feeling the woman’s pain. Putting a hand on her back, the head Seraphim tried her best to be a supportive friend. She was aware that Y/N hasn’t felt strong emotions like these before, since there never was a reason to feel like this.
A few days had passed ever since Adam’s and Y/N’s fight, and the angel has been staying with Sera. Even though she has been feeling horrible, Y/N still decided to work, maybe more than usual. Sera had informed her about yet another small meeting with the King of Hell who requested to discuss the numbers in small detail. Y/N was a little surprised, yet of course she agreed to it. In her eyes, Lucifer had the right to know the exact numbers. Gathering everything, the woman hummed a calm tune. There were a lot of documents that reached back many, many centuries.
Arriving at the same place as last time, Y/N took a seat somewhere near where Lucifer sat last time so they could review the documents better. To her however, it was quite weird that the Morningstar had requested this meeting.. Doesn’t he have access to these numbers as well, since it’s Sinners that are getting killed? The woman shrugged, dismissing that thought immediately. There has to be more to it, she was so sure of it.
After a few moments of waiting silently, the huge doors to the room swung open, revealing the very man she was expecting to see, dressed in the same suit as last time. Their eyes met, the familiar feeling enveloping their hearts, just like last time. It felt.. fulfilling, but neither of them could figure out how to properly explain that feeling. “Your Majesty, it’s a pleasure to see you again!” Y/N sent him a tiny smile, her mood lifting just a bit. Lucifer’s smile was genuine, even if it seemed.. distraught. “Please, I told you last time Lucifer is just fine. I assume you are aware why I asked Sera to send you?” The question rolled off his tongue so smoothly, the nervousness he had seemingly disappearing in the blink of an eye.
The angel blinked a couple of times, trying to process his quick question. When her brain processed it appropriately, she nodded her head. “I received the information that you wanted to discuss the numbers of past exterminations, correct?” The woman asked, head tilting to the side as a force of habit. Lucifer let out a nervous laugh once more, trying to figure out what he should say next. “Well! Technically it’s.. worse?” He shrugged, eyes darting everywhere around the room. His reaction made her freeze, confusion clouding her brain in an instant. What did he mean with worse? Y/N’s gaze spoke louder than a thousand words, Lucifer going on to explain what he meant. “Has Adam told you.. anything at all?” Asked the Morningstar, to which the woman slowly shook her head, feeling her hands getting clammy. What could he be hinting at?
“He’s moving up the extermination, as discussed with Sera. I noticed you weren’t present during the meeting, so my first guess was that you.. weren’t let in on the plan?” With every word, Y/N’s heart dropped further. Why would Adam go behind her back like this? And Sera? She couldn’t believe her ears. Her husband kept a secret this big? “They.. what? What do you mean they moved up the extermination?” A panicked expression formed on her face, staring at Lucifer as if demanding answers.
“What I mean is the next extermination is in six months, and I thought I’d let you know just in case. Judging by your reaction I take it you had no idea.” Lucifer seemed.. worried. But in Y/N’s panicked state she didn’t realize it.
“No! I had no idea!” Her voice sounded terrified and angry all at the same time, not understanding what was going on. The angel’s mind seemed.. scrambled.
Betrayal, sharp and biting, pierced through the serenity of her celestial being, leaving behind a hollow ache where trust once resided. Each word felt similar to a haunting melody of deception that shattered the harmonious symphony of their union. In her eyes, once pools of boundless trust and compassion, now flickered a tempest of sorrow and disbelief. Deep inside Y/N felt as if she had no right to be feeling this way. No matter how hard she tried to make it stop, it failed.
For an angel, whose essence was woven from purity and truth, this revelation was a dagger plunged deep into the core of her being, leaving behind only the ruins of a love once cherished, now tarnished by the stain of betrayal.
In the aftermath of the revelation, the angel's wings, once radiant with celestial light, now drooped with the weight of her sorrow, their majestic feathers dulled by the shadows of betrayal. Her celestial grace faltered, stumbling amidst the ruins of her shattered trust, each step heavy with the burden of disbelief and anguish. Slowly, the woman turned her head to look at Lucifer, and the look in her eyes reminded him of himself.
Despair. Anguish. This was the only way he could describe this. He felt horrible for laying this on her, but she had a right to know, as it was her husband creating plans behind her back without even thinking of telling her. The last time he had seen her, which wasn’t even two weeks prior, her eyes were so full of life and joy. He felt as if he were to blame for taking it aways, being the bearer of bad news in this situation.
A new thought quickly nested itself into Lucifer’s mind..
Why was he even telling her this?

Okay, Dean’s single. He’s single which means you have free reign to date him if you want to. What are you talking about? ‘If you want to’? You want to. Yes, you do want to. You’ve wanted to since the moment you set eyes on him. How the hell are you going to bring this up to him? What if he doesn’t want you? It’s been a week since you’ve talked to Clarissa but Dean hasn’t said anything to you. Maybe he won’t and if he won’t, you’re sure as hell not going to.
It’s harder to confront your feelings because you’ve quit your nursing job as much as it pained you to do it. You’re a hunter full time now which is something you’ve wanted since Disneyland, but you’re not going to stop being a nurse. If a hunter needs your help, you’re going to do whatever you can to heal them.
Over the past week, you and Dean have been practicing your fighting skills which has given him plenty of opportunities to say something to you. Maybe you two aren’t meant to be. Maybe you should man up and ask him about it. You have to focus on the hunt before you can even think about your potential relationship with Dean.
There is a pack of werewolves attacking campers that need your attention so you’re going to do your job and help those people first. While Sam and Dean get ready, you’re standing on the small porch of the motel and stare at the beach right next to it. This place is the closest thing to the hunting grounds which is good for you because you love the ocean. Too bad none are in Kansas.
“Y/N?” You turn to Dean. “We’re ready to go.”
“Coming.”
You head to the car but Dean stops you before you can get inside.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, just thinking.”
“Oh, okay.”
He grabs the handle of the car door but you stop him this time.
“Dean?”
“Yeah?”
You open your mouth to say something but nothing comes out. No, you can’t do this now.
“Never mind.”
You get into the back seat of the car while Dean slides in behind the wheel. It’s a short drive to the trail where you’ll have to walk the rest of the way. You three trek through the woods until you come to the campsite you know the werewolves favor since it’s in the middle of their hunting grounds. You three look like hikers instead of hunters which you hope won’t tip off the werewolves.
“Thank God,” you laugh when you see them. “People. We’re lucky we found you. We’re as lost as someone can get. Do you know where the nearest hiking trail is?”
“What’s the rush? We’re about to cook something to eat. Want to join?”
“Why not?” Sam chuckles.
You join their group and sit down at the fire next to a man who hasn’t stopped looking at you. You smile politely at him and set your bag down on the ground. You look at Sam and Dean who give you a single nod. That’s your cue. You act like you’re taking off your jacket when really, you’re taking out the silver knife from your inner pocket. Without blinking, you stab the werewolf in the chest with the knife.
All hell breaks loose. Someone grabs you from behind and tosses you into the tree behind you, and you gasp in pain. It’s not the worst kind of pain so you immediately get up and face the female werewolf in front of you. She bares her fangs at you but you swipe the knife at her. She dodges all of your attempts until one of your swipes gets her arm. She cries out in pain as her skin sizzles from the burn.
Her claws come out and she uses them as her weapons. You don’t see them until too late and you’re thrown back into a tree. Pain erupts on your side and you look to see she slashes your skin with three nails. Dean looks at you when he hears your scream and shoves the silver knife into his werewolf’s chest. He runs at the woman who advances to you but he tackles her to the ground. She tries to bite him but he takes his knife and slices her throat vertically.
“Shit,” you gasp and press your hand to your side. Blood pours out between your fingers but you’re not going to let something like this kill you. “At least it’s not a bite mark.”
“You’re going to be okay.”
Sam kills the last werewolf in the pack so Dean picks you up bridal style. He doesn’t care if you’re getting blood in the car. He can always clean it later. He sits with you in the back so Sam drives back to the motel room. He lays down a towel on the bed but you know the blood will soak through onto the mattress.
“Where is your medical kit?”
“In my bag,” you groan.
Dean removes your jacket and uses scissors to cut your shirt open so you don’t have to move as much. You’re not worried about him seeing you in your bra since you have a more threatening matter to deal with. Sam grabs the kit and looks through it but there isn’t much that will help.
“There’s not enough to help you. I’ll run to the store. This will help until I get back.”
Sam hands the bag to Dean and doesn’t waste time. It’s you and Dean alone before you know it. Dean grabs a towel from the bathroom, wets it so it’s damp, and returns back to you. He cleans the blood as best as he can without hurting you further but every touch no matter how gentle hurts like a bitch.
“I’m so sorry,” Dean sighs.
“For what?”
“For you getting hurt.”
“Dean, come on, we both know that wasn’t your fault,” you scoff.
“Still. I should have protected you.”
“Don’t give me that sappy bullshit. This wasn’t your fault. We’re fighting monsters. Getting hurt is kind of in the job description.”
Dean lays down gauze over your wounds to help soak up some of the blood.
“Yeah, that’s the problem, Y/N. You shouldn’t have to do this. You should have stayed at your hospital and continued to be a nurse.”
You catch his eye and understand the meaning behind his words. If you’re going to confront your feelings, may as well do it now.
“You mean I should have stayed away from you?”
“It seems easier that way, no?”
You continue to stare at him as your mind races a million miles a second. He touches your side with an alcohol pad and you hiss in pain, causing you to break eye contact. Just then, Sam comes back with better medical supplies than the one in your kit. You’ll have to upgrade yours and add a bunch of shit you thought you weren't going to need. Dean easily fixes you up but the moment is over now.
You’ll head back home tomorrow after a long night’s rest. The sun is going down which means it’s your bedtime according to Sam and Dean. They let you have your own room but you’re not tired. Sure, you’re exhausted from the pain but you don’t want to sleep yet. When you know Sam and Dean are retired to their room, you sneak out of your own carefully to not break open your stitches. You slowly walk down to the beach near the motel and the water shimmers with the different colors of the sky.
You can’t keep doing this back and forth with Dean. Either he fesses up or you’re gone. You love hunting because the Winchesters make it fun but hurting every time you look at him is too damn difficult. Maybe they’ll let you back in your old hospital. Maybe you should go to a new one. Dean looks out the window and sees you standing on the small pier overlooking the ocean. Sam is already reading in bed so he leaves to give him some space. He looks both ways before crossing the street and joining you on the pier.
“Y/N?”
“I can’t keep doing this, Dean.” You whip around to face him. “I can’t live and hunt with you knowing you and Clarissa broke up. I thought you wanted space so I gave you space. I thought you needed to sort out your feelings so I didn’t say anything to you. It’s been two weeks and you’re giving me nothing. Radio silence. It’s killing me. I gotta know… Do you love me or not?” Dean stares at you with parted lips, his expression unreadable. “If you don’t, you gotta let me go because I love you so much and it hurts knowing you’re right there and I can’t touch you.”
“Fuck,” Dean whispers to himself. “Ever since we first kissed, you haven’t left my head. I’ve wanted to kiss you and hold you every night since then. Hell, I even thought about you when I was with her. I could have left Clarissa for you but people die around me, Y/N. You almost did at Disneyland and now here. Call me selfish but I’d rather lose Clarissa than you. I know you’ll be pissed at me for saying that but it’s the truth. At least if I was with her, I still got to see you.”
“I make my own decisions, Dean. You don’t get people killed. Shitty things happen to you. That doesn’t make you the cause of it. This is the life we live. Monsters will do what monsters do, so we try like hell to make sure they don’t get us before we get them. I’m not gonna let that fear control me. I’m also just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her. If I want to be with you, I’m going to be with you. Do you want to be with me?”
“Of course, I do--”
“Then do something about it.”
Dean makes up his mind right there and then. He stalks over to you and gently grabs the side of your face. He leans down and kisses you like how he’s wanted to for months. It’s cliche but it’s instant fireworks between you two. Everything wrong in your life finally falls into place to complete the puzzle.
“From now on, you’re mine,” you say against his lips. “I’m not letting you go.”
“I’m not going anywhere, sweetheart.”
He kisses you again but is careful not to open your stitches. Guess you two were right after all.

Sister Story to Loyalty Aemond Targaryen (HOTD) x Handmaiden - Part 1 Summary: A young maid of Harrenhal has been forced to remain hidden from the public eye, but as soon as she sets her eyes on a true Targaryen, she realizes to whom she truly belongs. Words: ~1.5K
Tumblr media
Chapter Warnings: None, this chapter is tame. But it won't remain that way. A/N UPDATE: I should have been more explicit so you know what you are reading. The final part of this fic will have noncon/DD;DNE elements. Please be warned and I apologize for not saying sooner. As much as I see Aemond having a genuine heart, he is going to struggle in this fic. A/N: This is more of an introduction and I thought it best to break this story up into smaller parts rather than present you all with one traumatically long fic. Yes, that is Daemon on the banner, he is integral to Part 1, but this is very much another Aemond story. So far, I am planning 3 chapters that will eventually be tied together in Part 2 of "Loyalty". 💙 My personal head-cannon for the little handmaid is Freya Allan (Ciri from The Witcher series). 💙 Thank you to @arcielee for being my sounding board and reading over this for me. Your enthusiasm means everything. 😘 And thank you to @myfandomprompts for recreating the Targaryen symbol for me for the banner. She’s so incredibly talented y’all 😘

She knew from the moment she laid eyes on him.
She felt it in her very bones, a deep revelation that she couldn't quite explain. She saw it in the perpetual frown upon his brow, in the shape of his chin, in the sharpness of his nose. She saw it in the color of his brilliant blond hair, indisputably the same hue as hers.
Her eyes didn’t share the same vibrant shade of purple that belonged to the royal family who ruled Westeros, but her light baby blues and bright silver-blonde hair had always been enough to attract attention in this part of the kingdom. She didn’t look anything like the humble folks of the Riverlands.
Growing up, she had often wondered about her origins; she had known that her mother passed away during childbirth, leaving her without any further knowledge of her parentage. In her stead, she had been raised with care by the head matron at Riverrun. When the young maid questioned about her family, the matron would elaborate on the few details she recalled about her mother. She learned of the few physical attributes that the young maiden inherited, but if she pressed about her father, a dark cloud would shadow the matron's face and she would always refuse to say more.
Then, when Harrenhal passed to House Strong, the matron was called to oversee the running of the new household, as she had some distant familial connections with the new inhabitants. Unable to part with her adopted child, the matron brought the young maid along with her.
Despite her best efforts to provide a sense of home, life at Harrenhal was anything but comforting. The castle was dark and ominous with rumors of haunting spirits that sent chills down the spine of anyone who dared to speak of them. As the young maid blossomed into womanhood, her adoptive mother started to impose strict rules upon her, forcing her to wear a headscarf at all times, hiding her unique features from the prying eyes of visitors and castle inhabitants alike. Now at one and eight, the young woman had begun to resent these restrictions, longing for the freedom she once had at Riverrun where she could roam without fear and be herself. But she knew the matron only had her best interests at heart: with her unique beauty, outsiders may be tempted to kidnap her, and worse, sell her into slavery at a brothel.
The Rogue Prince strode into Harrenhal with the air of absolute authority, and for the first time in her life, the young maid beheld a true Targaryen, suddenly feeling like everything was falling into place. Usually, she would have been kept hidden from unfamiliar faces within the castle’s walls, but due to the war's demands and the shortage of staff, she had no choice but to do as she was bid, and she had been bid to personally serve this member of royalty. He stopped right in front of her and as their eyes locked, she thought she saw a glimmer of recognition from him and an ever so subtle double take. But with her hair bound and wrapped, he didn’t have a chance to see the color of her matching tresses.
In his full set of armor, Daemon looked huge and intimidating. Without a word, he handed her his helmet, a silent directive that she was to assist him with his armor. She set to work, hands trembling slightly as her fingers worked deftly to undo the numerous clasps and buckles that held the armor together. At last, when she was done, she bent to gather his things when he caught her unexpectedly by the wrist, sending electricity coursing up her arm and straight into her heart as her eyes jumped back to his.
“Clean it well, little one,” he said, in a much more gentle tone than she had anticipated before he immediately turned and strode from the room without a backwards glance.
She didn’t remember making it to the washroom with all of his armor, she didn’t remember anything for the next few hours. All she could think of was his face, the way his eyes bore into hers, the way he seemed to see through her. Inexplicably, she knew from the moment her eyes landed on Daemon Targaryen that she was one of them, that the notorious Rogue Prince himself could quite possibly be her father. Intrigued, she longed to mention her suspicions to the matron, but the memory of the matron's reaction whenever her father was mentioned gave her pause, and she thought it best to keep it to herself for the time being.
Daemon didn’t linger at Harrenhal for very long; she suspected the witch had something to do with that. With each passing day, the shadows under his eyes grew darker and he seemed increasingly on edge, flinching at the slightest loud noise. The young handmaid suspected it was her behind his growing distress, likely attempting to drive him away from the castle just as swiftly as he had arrived.
During the course of his stay, he didn’t show any further signs of recognition as she carried out her duties diligently. Her heart was full of hope and fear, constantly questioning if she should say something to him. On the last night of his tenure in the castle, she entered his room, carrying freshly laundered clothes and unexpectedly found him sitting by the fire. He was gazing into it without really seeing and her presence seemed to break his trance as he beckoned her forward.
“Set that on the bed,” he said with a careless wave of his hand, the silver rings on his thick fingers shimmering in the firelight, “and come here, little one.”
She did as she was bid, heart thundering in her chest as she took her place before him, eyes cast downward, hands clasped in front of her.
“Take off your scarf,” he instructed softly. She hesitated; the matron had strictly forbidden her from removing it, no matter who asked. But she knew that this was the moment she had been waiting for, a spark of fate, of destiny. And so, with trembling fingers, she untied the scarf and shook out her long, silver mane, eyes flicking nervously to meet his gaze.
His violet stare was so intense, it was like looking directly into the sun as he studied her appearance, a deep frown on his low brow. She tried to stand tall and proud but, ultimately became too intimidated to maintain eye contact, lowering hers to the floor by his feet.
“No, child, please,” Daemon said as he stood, towering over her and reached out to gently lift her chin so their eyes met again, “You look just like her,” he whispered, sounding awestruck. His thumb traced her jawline paternally, a faraway look in his eyes, as if he was remembering another time. Her heart thundered in her chest, was he referencing her mother?
“We have much to discuss, little dragonseed, but there isn’t any time,” he became serious, adding, “I have some important matters to attend to now, but I shall return for you.” Her heart swelled with his confirmation, she had just known she belonged to him.
He dismissed her shortly after, leaving her no time to ask any of her questions. In the dead of night, the hauntingly shrill cry of Caraxes sent a shiver up her spine and she knew Daemon had departed the castle. She cried herself to sleep, desperate to go with him and join her greater destiny, not understanding why she had to wait. She cursed the witch under her breath for purposefully driving Daemon away faster…if only she just had a little more time with him.
But little did the handmaid know that another Targaryen relative would soon arrive at the castle. Within just a few days of Daemon’s departure, an unexpected thunderclap echoed through the clear blue sky, though it wasn’t a precursor to a storm. A dark shadow fell over Harrenhal and another great dragon descended from the sky, its immense wings blotting out the sun. Atop the dragon's broad back, a tiny blond figure could be seen—barely more than a speck from the ground.
The castle’s inhabitants paused in their activities, gazing upward in awe and trepidation at the tremendous size of this giant, much larger than Caraxes had been. Whispers spread quickly as the dragon landed with a thud that shook the ancient stone walls. The blond figure leapt gracefully from his seat to the ground as the castle’s gates prepared to receive yet another army, but this time the banners that approached were not the familiar black and red of Queen Rhaenyra but the green and gold of King Aegon II. The Prince Regent, Aemond Targaryen, had come to lay claim to Harrenhal, and unbeknownst to the little handmaid did she know what was next in store for her.

Something weird I've noticed in the kotlc fandom that I really cannot wrap my head around is the treatment of the Vacker family, specifically Alden and Fitz. These are understandably popular characters (and for good reason) and it makes sense that people interpret them in different ways. I can't help but notice that some of the predominant discussions around them center on personality traits they just... don't have in canon.
Most of the characterizations I see of Alden treat him as a rampant child abuser. He's overbearing, stern, and determined to force his child to live up to the Vacker name by any means necessary. Naturally, Alden is not a perfect character or father, but such a harsh depiction flattens much of what makes him dynamic in the books. As I see it, there are two main flaws that Alden has in canon: his past with Prentice and his meddling.
What Alden did to Prentice is treated pretty seriously throughout the series. In Exile, it's made clear that falsely accusing (or, not so falsely, depending on what you consider the real crime to be) Prentice and performing the mindbreak is the biggest regret of his life. So big, that it shatters his sanity and ruins one of his closest relationships (Exile, Chapter 35; Nightfall, Chapter 3). It's the mistake that keeps on giving, and it's made abundantly clear that while Alden wasn't aware of what he was truly doing, he bears responsibility nonetheless. It's a burden that Alden takes extremely seriously, pushing him to search for the Moonlark for years, but more on that later. While his guilt over Prentice is an important part of his character, it's not the flaw that I usually see given the most weight in his characterizations.
Alden's meddling is prominent, to say the least. It heavily features in most interpretations I see of him online, largely negatively and largely without specificity. In canon, there are really two ways that his nosiness presents itself: his children's personal lives and his hunt for the Moonlark. The two best examples of his meddling as a parent come from his interventions in Fitz and Biana's friendships. In the first book, Alden encourages Biana to befriend Sophie because he worries about her (Keeper, Chapters 43 and 47). He acts similarly with Fitz and Keefe, encouraging Fitz to invite Keefe to Everglen so Keefe can avoid spending time with Cassius (Flashback, Chapter 21). In both cases, Alden doesn't go beyond asking his kids to spend time with potential friends. He doesn't micromanage their hangouts or insist it's for status reasons; he's interested in supervising kids who he worries are in a bad spot. This is notably different from Gisela's meddling, which is for personal gain with tangible, selfish goals (Neverseen, Chapter 63). Maybe Alden shouldn't be pushing his kids to spend time with those they don't have an interest in. But the eventual friendships that arise from them make up for it, in my opinion.
The other form Alden's meddling takes is his hunt for the Moonlark. As a manifestation of his guilt over Prentice's mindbreak, Alden enlists Alvar and Fitz to search the Forbidden Cities for the Moonlark. I've seen this search used as the basis for a lot of the animosity between Alden and his sons, which I think is incorrect. Alvar is the first hunter and is very open about how pointless he thought the endeavor was (Keeper, Chapter 28; Neverseen, Chapter 1). The difference of opinions over the Black Swan between Alvar and Alden is a point of contention in their relationship, but it's important to note that Alvar doesn't claim to feel pressured or pushed into the search. He just thinks the conspiracy of the Black Swan is stupid (Keeper, Chapter 28). Of course, much of this protesting was a cover for the fact that he was working with the Neverseen and would've been searching anyway (Neverseen, Chapter 63).
Fitz takes over the search at age six (Neverseen, Chapter 1). Fitz's age when being sent out is questionable at best, and I think is fair to criticize Alden for (though, I think the age has more to do with Shannon being unable to decide how Elvin aging is supposed to work since none of the other characters seem to think six is unreasonably young). But while the reader can freely critique Alden for this, what's crucial is that Fitz doesn't seem to mind this. Rather than be upset or resentful that Alden had him search for the Moonlark, Fitz calls it "the most important thing [he'll] probably ever do" (Stellarlune, Chapter 43). He's proud of the work he and his father did; if anything, it's a positive in their relationship. I've seen some arguments that pushing Fitz into the Forbidden Cities is part of a pattern of having kids do dangerous work (per Sophie doing Fintans mindbreak in Exile, even though that wasn't Alden's idea and he offered to disobey the Council if she didn't want to), which isn't necessarily unfair. What I do think is a problem is acting like the search for the Moonlark had a significant negative impact on Alden's relationships with his sons.
Part of the reason I think this interpretation is so prevalent is a contributing misunderstanding about Fitz's character. Fitz is often portrayed as anxiety-ridden over his role as a Vacker and the expectations that come along with it. Being a leader isn't something he wants, but something he feels pressured into. In canon, Fitz is almost the complete opposite. He's shown at being naturally gifted at telepathy and school and is incredibly charming. Being a Vacker -- and the expectations that come with it -- is something he embraces wholeheartedly. In fact, it is the loss of his leadership that causes struggle. A main point of contention that Fitz has with Sophie in Stellarlune (Chapter 43) is that he "still want[s] to be that guy that everyone looks to" even though that's no longer his role. None of this is to say that Fitz is perfect, or that he doesn't fight against the idea of being labeled so. Instead, much of Fitz's arc is about learning when to step back and change his perspective on the world, including recognizing when his privilege has clouded his judgment. His rejection of being labeled perfect has more to do, in my eyes, with having a difficult time reconciling his "idyllic" childhood with the harsher childhoods of his friends (Flashback, Chapter 21).
So what is the problem between the Vackers, if not fanon? The one issue that is repeatedly brought up by both Fitz and Alvar alike regarding their father is favoritism. Alvar felt ignored after the births of Fitz and Biana, claiming that Alden replaced him with Fitz whom he refers to as the "Golden Child" (Neverseen, Chapter 72; Flashback, Chapter 49). Fitz feels betrayed by his parents' immediate re-welcoming of Alvar when his memories are gone, insisting they prioritize Alvar over Fitz and Biana's safety (Flashback, Chapter 16). In both cases, Fitz and Alvar feel like an afterthought or the lesser child. It's that feeling that fuels (or encourages, considering Alvar's done quite a bit throughout the series to create independent hate lol) the animosity between them and Alden.
It's this "favorite child" dynamic that I find really interesting and unique about the Vacker's dysfunction in the series. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see a reason to paint over this dynamic with bullying, especially considering there is a father-son relationship in canon that is the Vacker fanon almost to a T. Cassius spent Keefe's whole life attempting to pressure him into becoming a "real" Sencen, which Keefe tried to do before realizing it was unattainable (Flashback, Chapter 21). It's the bedrock of their non-relationship. To shove Fitz and Alden into that pigeonhole is a disservice to each of these relationships, which have their own intrigues without sharing. None of this is to say that people can't headcanon as they wish, and to try and play with characters is the fun of fandom. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from that or shame them for it. But to claim those relationships are canon is disingenuous to me and a misportrayal of the books.
