It's the juicer story to tell after all.#It is still possible that he did love her! But I think that story undercuts the relationship he also had with WCZ.#Yall ever think about how JC and WWX parallel their fathers? How Wei Changze also left the Jiang Leader's side? I do.#Unlike JC though It is far more hilarious and plausible to imagine JFM begging to be CSSR and WCZ's third. You know he would.#My wild headcanon is that JFM and YZY are in a mlm and wlw arranged marriage situation. Deeply unhappy as partners. Better as friends.#they care for each other and I'll admit that there is a beautiful tragedy in them having romantic feelings for each other the whole time.#But I am also here for the gaffs. Byler is a slow burn y’all!
While it’s possible milkvan could break up in early s5, or maybe they consider their fallout in s4 their breakup and are only now addressing it and how they’ve realized they’ve been better off as friends over the last year, it’s still gonna take some time for byler to confront everything over the last few years and both get to a point where they have clarity about their own feelings and finally accept that the other one feels the same.
I don’t think there’s enough time to explore all of that before Mike and El have that talk on the roof, or even shortly after that, even if it’s post-time jump.
It will still be interesting to see where Mike and Will are at in their relationship by the time the time jump rolls around.
It’s unlikely the painting will have been addressed without us witnessing it, unless they decide to throw in a flashback at some point if it happened during the time jump.
Which means there is still a lot they need to talk about, let alone for them be literally dating.
I think it’s also possible Will won’t know Mike and El are over for real, not until Mike or El tell him and the others.
What this might result in is an episode or two of Mike pining for Will (single 😁) while Will is none the wiser and maybe even trying to keep his distance, now under the assumption that Mike wants space to be alone with El since they’ve finally reconciled once and for all.
There’s gonna need to be episodes exploring their dynamic as friends that can be something more if they want to be and how they navigate that and how obvious it is that, in contrast to Mike and El, while they are indeed friends, they work even better as being something more too.
They’ve invested the entire series to building this up, in a way that most of the audience missed. They need to spend some time now making it obvious so that people can rewatch a lot of their scenes for what they truly are (romantic) now that they know the truth, as opposed to just being ambushed with them being together.
I need people that didn’t even want it to happen to have to endure the tension all season long, to the point where they’re screaming at their screen JUST KISS ALREADY! GET IT OVER WITH! JESUS CHRIST!

One of my favorite (if not my favorite) admissions of love in fiction is Mark Darcys "i like you very much, just as you are" from Bridget Jones's Diary.
He tells her that he likes her but she interrupts him with oh apart from all of these awful things sbout me and starts listing things and mark just hits her with "just as you are"... not thinner, or better, or smarter, or more polite or more organized or successful.. just as she is, with all of her mess and imperfections, just as she fucking is!
The lyric "I've loved him, since he was born" during ed and stedes reunion is so "i like you very much, just as you are"!!!
Ed and stede are two people who've felt/been unloved for so much of their lives, childhood and adulthood. They (and even the world) hate parts of themselves, parts of themselves that the other absolutely fucking ADORES about them! They've loved eachother since they were born! They love who the other was, who the other is and who the other will be! Just as they are!!

There are places where I think a sex scene can dramatically impact a story in a way that enriched the viewing experience and conveys important information. There are movies and/or tv shows in which this happens. I haven’t seen any of them. So much of the time it’s there to do exactly what it says on the tin. A woman and a man are banging. Sure. Fine. Happy for them. It’s just a literal scene used to pull a bit of a ‘well you didn’t think THEY would be involved’ plot twist or a ‘we’re so edgy’ signal. The only show so far that I’ve seen that uses sex scenes as an actual tool of storytelling is Black Sails, and the reason it works in Black Sails is that the sex is Bad. People are bored. People are distracted. The characters are so bound up with the plot that it’s physically prevented them from fucking like normal human beings. That works. The rest doesn’t
#kelsey rambles#don’t ask what prompted this post because it would lead to me being institutionalized#but I do think sex scenes have a lot of untapped potential for just. character information. that doesn’t get used#like the anne/jack scene. it communicates so well that the intimacy between these two comes from trust and not the other way around#anne isn’t attracted to jack as a person and jack is neither here nor there on anne as a romantic interest#he pursues her out of a sense of ‘well she’s a woman and that’s how this works’. she semi-sort-of-dates him because it’s all the same to her#she’s never wanted a guy so why wouldn’t she consider a platonic bond to be just the normal thing for screwing around#Jack isn’t paying attention to Anne because he’s thinking about money.#Anne is bickering with him like they’re a pair of muppet clowns#it’s so very awkward and unsexy. it’s not even charged enough to be embarrassing#they may as well be clipping each other’s toenails for all the raw desire there is(n’t) in the scene#and it works! these are two characters who have an intimacy so far from romantic that the writers describe it as twin-like#they misinterpret it as desire because they’re plank-thick pirates. it’s not toxic it’s just kind of square peg round hole#(hah hah). good scene. shows should try having good scenes more often

#it was cool at first but now I’m grinding my teeth like wtf#I was okay with it at first bc like. he defeats the beautiful cold hearted prodigy by a hairs breadth and we get this sad backstory for her#which could be better’d by the MC who doesn’t fear her and can teach her how to socialize and become a brighter happier person through their#developing friendship and potentially romantic relationship and it could have led to character development for both of them as they struggle#through the feeling of being cast aside as an ‘other’ by society and learning how to stumble through a relationship that involves#communication and admittance and honesty#something our MC and FL can’t get through their mentors#instead we get her genuine attempts at becoming friends being brushed off by him who assumes she’s going to eventually want a romantic#relationship by the end of it and ARGHHXHHD she’s a shy person!! she’s trying her best!!! you asshole!!!! and then the author has the#AUDACITY#to make her continue yearning after this guy who doesn’t give 2 shits about her and she’s only used as a support character for the#ensuing battle and then he promptly leaves her behind for his own adventure#and don’t even get me STARTED on the lack of compatibility with the other women in this story#they aren’t even being used as potential love interests they’re just there so the author can say he added strong female characters and then#IMMEDIATELY turns around and makes them fawn over this 19 yr guy who cAn pRoTeCt ThEM AnD HEs sO cOoL FUCK#I was holding out but now he just annoys me dude this is why I don’t like reading male lead perspectives if there’s a DROP of romance#it ruins it! romance is dead no one knows what chemistry is they only want to be fawned over by women to stroke their egos#not a reblog

i think it was like. a genuinely evil creative decision to have shawn hunter marry the gender swapped narrative equivalent to his dead neglectful father in girl meets world. like theres no way to go around it katy is explicitly to maya what chet was to shawn, that is purposefully set up by the writers so i dont understand why it was then decided for the two of them to end up together.

I think what bugs me most about the wenclair ship is that they really bug each other. Not in the fun “I’m going to push you up the wall and kiss you so fucking hard” way that Wednesday and Bianca or Tyler and Xavier do but the kind that’s like “if you don’t stop typing I’m going to bite you” type. It’s not good for a romantic relationship and so it just doesn’t slot into place for me.
