“I’ve prepared a series of cocktails for my Valentine this evening,” He announced, straightening his tie and gesturing to a line of drinks.
“Hm. Excellent.” I nodded, sitting at the kitchen island with my best posture. He rolled his eyes at my pompous tone.
“Try not to make fun of me,” He raised an eyebrow, “You said you wanted a fancy Valentine’s day.”
“I do!” I gasped at the accusation, “I’m enjoying the indulgence. I promise.”
“Alright,” He conceded, “You ready?”
“Yes, please,” I grinned, rubbing my hands together in anticipation.
“Okay, darling. Today, you’re going to try all the classics, so you don’t have to order the same drink as me anymore.” He gave me a wink, sticking his tongue out between his teeth. “Okay, try the first one.”
“This is just a martini?” I picked up the glass, holding it out in front of me.
“Yes, you’ll like it.” He leaned forward on the counter, looking at the glass with me. I brought it to my lips, taking a whiff. I winced. “Don’t smell it!” He laughed, and I shrugged, downing the glass. I closed my eyes.
“That was maybe… Like a four. Out of ten.”
“Okay, well, you’re also not supposed to drink the entire glass at once.” He took the glass from me, setting it behind him. “Baby, look how many more you have to try.”
I giggled, grabbing the next glass and turning it slowly, the condensation pooling against my fingertips.
“Just, just sip that one. One sip.” He was stern, holding his index out firmly.
I brought the glass to my lips, staring at him as I threw the drink back.
“Ugh,” I shuddered, “I’ve had this before. This gave me the worst hangover I had ever experienced.”
He sighed, grabbing the next drink in line and gulping it down.
“You’re not getting drunk without me.” He stated, grabbing another and finishing it. “And, by the way, we do still have dinner reservations.”
“I know,” I smiled, reaching for the next drink. He slapped at my hand.
“You need to wait thirty minutes.” He wrapped his fingers around my wrist, pulling my hand to meet his lips. “I want you to be able to remember this evening.” His wet mouth dripped kisses over my knuckles, his eyes skimming over the details of my face.
“Look, the ice is already melting in this one,” I pointed at the sweating glass, “I’ll have to try this.”
“Baby-“
I took a sip from the glass, but shut my eyes tightly, swallowing shakily.
“You can have the rest of that.” I said, pushing the glass into his hand. He licked his lips, trying to hide his smile, and tipped the glass back. I watched his throat swallow, his pulse thrumming against his skin. I reached absently for his neck, fingers trailing over the soft skin.
“Dinner. Reservations.” He reminded me, his pupils dilating as my hand slipped to his tie. I tugged at the fabric, and he let out a groan. “It’s really a nice place, baby.”
He leaned closer to me, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear with two fingers, letting his hand linger behind my ear.
I reached for another drink, taking a carefully measured sip. The corner of his mouth curved as I pressed the glass to his bottom lip, letting him finish the remainder.
“Let me show you off,” he murmured, “You’re so fucking gorgeous in that dress.”
“You like it?” I sighed, undoing his tie completely, “It’s just so uncomfortable.” I leaned back, pouting at him from across the counter.
His hands were splayed out on the marble, his head lowered as he breathed deeply. He looked up at me through his curls, shaking his head as he reached for the last drink. He emptied the glass, setting it down slowly. He spun it in place as he watched me pull my fingers through my hair, eyes dipping to my neckline. He stood back, coming to my side of the counter and offering me his hand.
“You win,” he smirked, pulling me to my feet and gathering his hands at my hips. He grasped at the silk of my dress, finding the zipper at the base of my neck. “You want a November baby?”
