The Land of the Waves arc is a really interesting one, especially with Haku's character in particular. Haku's arc begins as a heavily parallel to Sasuke's; from the kekkei genkai and the hatred they've faced from it, the inherent loneliness and isolation throughout their entire lives, their loyalty, and regards for having someone special in their life. For Haku it's Zabuza and for Sasuke it's Sakura and Naruto. Although it's more impartial to Naruto due to the whole best friend thing that Itachi told Sasuke with awakening the mangekyou sharingan.
Even during their fight Zabuza makes a comment to Kakashi that's akin to letting their students fight without interruption and their ways of fighting and approaching one are almost identical. Once Haku's died Sasuke is the first one to realise how Haku purposefully kept Sasuke alive and ensured not to hit is vital points; despite the amount of damage he inflicted and how he promised Zabuza ,the man he loves and trusts the most, that he would kill him.
Both parties' isolation is probably the most clear example of a parallel because of how similar, yet different, it is. Sasuke's experiences isolation post massacre mostly and is a family oriented character. His driving force in the series is to get revenge on the man who caused his parents' death and to ensure closure from it. He makes close relationships with those around him at first only to break them in favour of his journey to power so he's able to rival Itachi's. However, Haku's isolation began from birth. Because of the kekkai genkai discrimination faced in his home village he was separated from everyone else. Even his mother forbid him for showing any signs of it for his own saftey due to his father. Haku's lonliness comes to a halt when he meets Zabuza. Even if he knows he'll only be used as a tool ( as Zabuza himself says even if he's disgusing his protective feelings of Haku) he puts his loyalty into the man's hands. He loves him with everyone bone in his body just like Sasuke did with his own family. Their isolative lives happened in opposing ways.
All of this just for Naruto to be pushed as the one who understands Haku the most. Every person in the series who is relateable more to Sasuke ( gaara, neji, haku) becomes mote aligned with naruto..sasuke uchiha i'm so sorry you got framed as a villain despite your higher compatibility with every broken character that naruto ends up 'saving'

Or do Suzume and Souta remind you a bit of Chihiro and Haku? I actually watched Suzume first so I didn’t catch this until I watched Spirited Away.
Everything from their bond that could be interpreted as either platonic or romantic to Haku/Souta’s promise to see Chihiro/Suzume again or Suzume/Chihiro tending to Haku/Souta after they’re injured. There are some Ghibli references in Suzume like one of the songs Serizawa played in the car being from Kiki’s Delivery Service so I wouldn’t be surprised if Spirited Away had an influence as well.

one of my favorite character dynamics/tropes is when only person B remembers briefly encountering/interacting with person A long before the events of the story, and started to fall for them even before they knew their name because A did something kind/selfless to help or encourage B and made a significant impact on their life, but for person A it was like another tuesday because that's just the kind of wonderful person they naturally are and part of the many reasons B adores them.

Haku and Sasuke should have atleast had one conversation that wasn't centred around the ideal shinobi before Haku's death.I know Haku was made to make more of an impact on Naruto with shaping his ideals about the 'shinobi path' but the fact this kid who has a kekkai genaki they were shunned and hated for which ended up causing his father to kill his mother and Haku ends up using that ability in turn in self defence to kill his dad met an uchiha with the sharingan which is praised across the world and is viewed in almost a biblical light to some is so interesting. Not to mention how Sasuke has also suffered because (and at the hands) of the sharingan. Sasuke also doesn't think of there being a special person to protect because he only has the goal of killing his brother a man he thinks never loved him (talking in context before he sacrifices himself for naruto). Meanwhile Haku does think of there being that sort of person and his is Zabuza someone who he loves but he also knows doesn't love him back but despite that he will protect him and love him for as long as he can.

is there likeee any voice claims for clyde or fennel?? or for like any character im curious
tbh...i could never figure out a voice claim for fennel! not even for his singing voice. if anything...i would say he kinda sounds like haku from naruto? maybe. i'm not sure on fennel yet.
clyde talks like a person with a boston accent. when writing clyde, i imagine jfk from clone high, mayor quimby, or the scout. clyde's accent doesn't actually sound that exaggerated. it doesn't sound exaggerated at all. i just think it's funny. but i wouldn't put it past him to do a slight jfk impression when he's performing live.
other characters:
since i copied will graham's swag for darcy, darcy would sound like him too. darcy's speech pattern is more stilted and flat, though. he also has a tendency to fumble over his words because he tries not to speak too formally (only when he's around ppl he's not familiar with).
princess would sound like misa, pinkie pie or unikitty and wren would sound like rainbow dash, rudy tabootie, or buttercup. princess' tone is upbeat and fun and wren has a raspy tone in his voice. any of those voices would fit for them. but i typically imagine misa and rainbow dash when writing princess and wren.
pine is british and has a brummie accent. spot's squeaks sound like a dog toy.
as for everyone else: i have no idea!

Decided to take my recent musings and do something with them. Turned out far more bombastic than the initial subtle nod I intended... Ahh, standard fare ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Been feeling very nostalgic lately for my pre- and early teens; that'd been when I'd first started getting into Zelda content online. Binge-watching theories and top-tens and peoples' thinkpieces on whatever their favourite (or least favourite) game was.
One of my favourite vids to revisit was a Halloween special rabbidluigi did with some other guy, compiling what they thought were the top 25 creepiest things in Zelda. It's from 2012, so it's rough, to say the least, but it also feels like home.
Skyward Sword was the first Zelda game I ever had, but Twilight Princess was the first game I ever played-- Even if it was a bare scrape into the prologue. Fitting that I draw this guy.
