Friend & I went to an extremely tiny convention today, where I bought this silly lil' guy (while dressed in Goro Majima cosplay, yep). Of course, I was then obligated to carry him around wherever we went — and the outing concluded with some yummy ramen ♥

MARAUDER LOCKDOWN

... Tbh he is more of a "vagrant" but that sounds too low for his reputation IMEAN--

I'm both excited and nervous to show at last a proper reference for my own interpretation of this character 💚 I think it's not a surprise anyway for the ones that know me and my love for him ksdjhfjdsfh

I wanted to do it too so I can work comfortably on my HCs that edge in very OOC territory from the canon (and even some fanon)... and because I admit I have been enjoying sharing short stories and RPs with people again ✨ and activity I missed a lot!

And of course, this interpretation got its own whole backstory that differs from the canon and follows my HCs and concepts around his species, but I'll talk about that in another post (or if someone is curious enough to ask for it coff).

For now! Have more initial sketches from when I was developing him (this is since... 2022 gosh).

First: a time ago I used him for an old (discontinued) post-apocalyptic AU with designs inspired by hunting-scavenging clothing. A friend said he looked like Robin Hood x'D

... I almost didn't change the way I sketch digitally. Anyways. To not let this rot, you can notice I used many design cues from this one!

Then during half of the past year, I did studies of his ROTF toy because I liked how that one kept the weird silhouette of the TFA but aligned to the IDW design too!

And from there I chipped away traits and straightened others until it felt right to me.

BONUS one of the first and fastest sketches I did for him during a conversation with @goobygnarp x'D Thanks to this I not only got the courage to finish the reference but to understand WHAT design cues I wanted to keep and didn't give me too of a headache.

So what do DC fans do when they are six-feet down frustrated with DC's decisions..they make fix-it headcanons and fanarts! (Only Wayne Family Adventures can save us, apparently...huhuhu, I was so hopeful for DC Dawn but it has to happen)

Sooooo, here's a suggestion, one major problem of DC is the Robin Mantle.

We have Tim Drake, who with the ambiguous ending of his Robin run '(2022) Tim Drake: Robin', he said he doesn't want to be Batman, nor Robin?? So is this a call out of his possible new path? But come on, he is still very active in Batman donning his Robin Suit, so maybe it's just the usual 'finding your own path' narrative of a Robin while still doing the status quo.

Aand Damian Wayne has just finished his Lazarus Tournament Arc phase on the '(2021) Robin' series, and has made up with Batman (in Lazarus Planet Event), and has rightfullly refused the offer of both his mother and father to follow their footsteps.

So now having known what we know...it is simple. DC should just hammered in the difference of the two, coz they are very very different strengths and flaws NOW. (It has always been, but their skillsets were practically interchangeable, with Tim having the edge of experience, wholistically-trained with a cool head but is insecure, and Dami having talent for the job but is overconfident and has a temper and trust issues).

But now, Dami has been hinted heavily to have 'magic' in his blood. This should be a big deal.

I mean, what is stopping DC in making Damian the Robin who focuses on the magical and voodoo cases of Gotham?

It would not only let the two Robins continue to operate with Batman, it would make them have separate jurisdiction on Batman's case files, with Tim helping Batman on his usual detective work, and Damian learning more of his powers, building immunity (coz how many times has been that he was used by demons, devils, and dark forces of the multiverses, like srsl? Batman, this is a literal threat to everyone and this is not even a discussion in your training book?). Also different specialization makes it easier for the two to find and ground themselves again. Like, it has been high-time to have one resident-batfam who focuses mainly on THAT, aside from Azrael. And with Azrael being the Angel of Death, and Dami being the grandson of the Demon Head, the tandem and potential is there?? Hopefully, it is still Michael Lane, coz having an underground trained-to-be-Batman's-replacement who eventually got insance and became Bat-Devil only to convert into a lliteral incarnation of an Angel....the parallel>>>to DAMI? So good. The resurrection and salvation bit for the two would be so nice to put in comics.

Hecck, Dami training under Constantine and Zatanna woould be sick.

And it doesn't have to make Damian more OP with magic on his arsenal. It could simply just his magical powers are limited to immunity from the dark arts (coz he trained the fuck out of it, *intro, training montage). So he is still a badass mini-Batman but just highly trained against the supernatural. (IF this happened, please don't let this be his whole personality coz it'll boxed Dami in a one-trick pony, that's why it should be just immunity/dispell skills...or a one-off channeling of his superpowers when he resurrected before...the possibilities are nice to play with. Just give him a flaw...like he can study on academic levels the magics but he cannot sense them the way a magically-gifted person could).

And this is only until Tim Drake finds his own superhero-persona. Coz 'til now, there's no organic way for Tim to move forward to.

So we have the colorful Robin, and the monochromed Robin. I say, let's return Red Robin to Tim, and make Damian the White Robin...

...or Dark Robin, or Bat Robin...but they all sound like the DC Metalverse Robin Versions, so I still lean in to 'White Robin' coz they are rare and is good call-out when he got resurrected and was in all white clothes.

Also when Damian first appeared, he was in a black and white overall which could easilly be interpreted how he is blanced on the weighing scale on good and bad. Now, he is good, just that, he does not let his father, or anyone at that matter, dictate the colors he would wear...he is still figuring it out, after all.

With the recent happenings in Gotham War what r ur thoughts on it all? Me personally? I'm devastated for Jason!

Devastated, but also so excited! ✧٩(ˊωˋ*)و This is a detail that I hope stays around for a while if only for the consequences to be explored in all their angst and drama-ridden glory.

Fair warning. Route thoughts below go from okay to deranged like, immediately. Also, stream of consciousness.

Potential Routes (Reversal, Everything Hurts, Scarecrow, Basement)

Reversal: Bruce with all his endless failsafes rectifying the changes he forced on Jason. And while maybe he's gritting his teeth because Bruce knows the consequences (ie. 'letting Jason be a murderer again') it will be a gesture to show that he wants Jason and doesn't need to change him to love him.

Everything Hurts: Alternatively, Bruce only being able to love Jason because of this change he imposes on him. The tragedy in that. ;U; What's more, Jason having a spike of adrenaline and thus fear (terror, really) whenever Bruce comes near him. Because Jason recognizes Bruce as 'dangerous' and ahhhhhh. The way this would jar Bruce and make him falter. Ugh, so good. So sad. He wanted to protect his boy and he ruined him, instead.

Scarecrow: Titans (2018) had a plotline with Jason and fear. Where he turned to an anti-fear drug to combat his fears and got swept up in a whole thing with Scarecrow who supplied him and it was really homoerotic omg like. This is a perfect set up for something like that to happen. Bruce 'healing' Jason, only to devastate him worse. And to see Jason struggle with something so personal (drugs, addiction) would be really interesting to see. Him hurting to the point he goes down that route and being tormented for it. How his friends, family, and Bruce would react as Jason spirals while trying to overcome this terror Bruce put in him. And ahhhhhhh let this boy break; let Scarecrow capitalize. Scarecrow doesn't need fear gas to fuck Bruce up - Batman has brought his fears to life by hurting his own boy to such an extent. ( ๑‾̀◡‾́)✨ OH! Bruce being put in a position to save the city or save his boy. A callback to Jason's time before he was killed by Joker. And ahhhhhhh copious amounts of fear because Jason learned this a long time ago: a hero will never love anything more than their cause. And idk maybe Jason loses it and he gets a different sort of rogue!era for everyone to be mad about. (⭑•͈ 𓎟 •͈ )

Basement: Alternative to the 'Everything Hurts' Route. Where Bruce doesn't actually let Jason go to Metropolis to live that normal life because Bruce keeps him chained in a basement. Which would be such a solid callback and ouchie plot if this was AKverse and Jason suffered through that fate before. Just a constant registering of danger which leads to adrenaline and fear until Jason shuts down and Bruce can have his twisted wicked way with him ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)

Additional thoughts: brujay winning so hard (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧. Also, someone on that team is an avid omegaverse fan it's coded in there so hard ahhhhahahaha perfection.

Daisuke had been working harder on this recipe for days and he needed an approval from his friends, so he just grabbed the most brutally honest person he knows in his entire life:

V-mon gently placed the bowl in front of their guest, and one for Armadimon as well.

꩜ Room Content: Aether x Albedo, fluff, maybe a lil angst?? Aether cries a bit in this, SFW ꩜ A/N: I usually don't write ship fics but I found this poor wip buried under all my other google docs from almost a year ago ;;; have fun reading and find yourself someone who loves you like Albedo loves Aether!

“What do you mean I remind you of a hamster, my dear Aether?”

Bundled together under layers of fuzzy blankets, Albedo tilts his head with a quizzical look towards Aether. Nursing a cup of warm cocoa in his hands, Aether sips at it before replying, "Don't you remember the time I caught you cleaning yourself off in the snow?"

Albedo stares out into the snowstorm outside the laboratory and recalls fondly, "Ah yes, I remember. I was taking a quick clean in the fresh snow by myself before I heard multiple Kamera clicks go off behind a tree. Lo and behold, it was some stalker traveller with a bright red face after getting caught sneaking pictures of his lover showering."

A teasing smirk appears on Albedo’s face as Aether flushes again and nuzzles his face further into the alchemist’s neck. "You make me sound like a creep 'Bedo. How was I supposed to know that that's how you shower? You were just rolling around in the snow! Of course I had to take pictures of such a cute moment!" Albedo takes the cup out of Aether’s hands lest he spills it in his embarrassment and sets it carefully on a table nearby.

Aether turns to his satchel next to him and digs around before fishing out the pictures he took of the other blonde. Fanning out the photographs, he points out one where Albedo is half buried, face first, in a huge pile of snow. The next one has him tossing around in the pristine frost on the ground, a blur of movement against the stark white background. In another, his head is now sticking out of the snow pile with a serene smile as his eyes gaze wistfully off into the distance. Snowflakes litter his hair as stray strands stick out in random directions from rolling around. They adorn his eyelashes and add an ethereal sort of shimmer to the already breathtaking man.

“What were you thinking about in this one?” Aether shifts over closer to Albedo to give him a better look of the picture. Fondness dances in Albedo’s eyes as he chuckles and replies, “I was just wondering when you’d be back to visit me, that’s all.”

The admission catches him terribly off guard. Heat creeps up to Aether’s face, a vibrant crimson overtaking his features as golden eyes widen. Heartbeat racing, he gulps before asking.

“You were… thinking of me?” Aether blurts out as he fiddles with his thumbs, the floor of the cave suddenly a lot more interesting than Albedo’s (gorgeous) face.

“Why do you ask that? Is it so strange for me to miss my lover?” Albedo’s hand finds its way into Aether’s and the traveller didn’t know his face could get this overwhelmingly warm. (He’s sure that he could put out the fire in front of them and he’ll still be radiating enough warmth to withstand the blizzard raging outside.)

The answer settles itself in Aether’s mind and he’s left to ponder the purpose of his question in the first place. Certainly, his partner has a point. Thinking of your lover who’s been away for some time, or in an entirely different region altogether, is perfectly normal. Call it pining, yearning, missing, regardless of the name, it’s all natural in a relationship. And at last, it clicks together in his head.

Ah, perhaps it’s the way such dear words can tumble easily out of Albedo’s mouth.

It’s not that Aether doesn’t receive affection. Far from it even, with how grandmas and grandpas from every nation dote on him after he helps them out, how kids sing praises of him to their parents when he gives them little snacks and treats.

Oh, but the way ‘Bedo says it.

So tenderly and sincerely, a manner in which every word from his lips manages to fill up his own heart with all kinds of sentimental loving that he never thought was possible. A raw sort of romance that burns away and leaves no room for doubt in Aether’s mind that Albedo loves him with each and every single particle of his being.

“No, no, it’s not strange at all…” Aether’s voice comes out a little wobbly, eyes slowly welling up with tears. His hand grips Albedo’s tighter unknowingly, his thumb caressing the rise and fall of the alchemist’s gloved knuckles.

“Oh, love, why are you crying?” Hands move to gingerly cup his face, shifting it until watery gold meets glimmering teal. Albedo’s brows furrow as he wipes away the tears cascading down his lover’s face, the touch nothing less of featherlight and gentle ardour.

“Haha… sorry, I just-” he takes a breath to steady his shaky tone, “-just realised how much I’m loved by you.”

“Oh, you silly traveller. Had I not known better, I would’ve thought you went and hurt your head while you were away.” Although Aether knows that his partner was created from chalk, he swears to all the stars above that he can feel the thrum of Albedo’s heartbeat, even under his gloves. Shuffling is heard as Albedo moves nearer, closing the distance between them until their foreheads touch.

“You deserve all this and so much more Aether. You're my everything.” The sentence is ended with a chaste kiss on his lips, a promise in disguise. (He feels his own heart race, its pace picking up as more and more tears threatening to spill over with ‘Bedo becoming a pale yellow blob in his eyes.)

“How lucky I am to have earned the love of such an affectionate hamster!”

The two of them giggle, their joint laughter echoing joyously in the laboratory as the snowstorm subsides, the sky blanketed in hues of orange and red.

With the sunset subsequently casting a spellbinding glow across the apples of the traveller's cheeks, Albedo can’t help but squish and pinch them, taking much amusement in watching Aether’s face scrunch up.

"Then you'll be a hamster too," Albedo chides softly, committing this blissful moment to his memory.

Finally, Aether smiles, radiant and loving.

(And Albedo now understands why one would sneak a picture of their beloved.)

my need to get to the point in my comic where things actually start to happen asap vs my knowing that properly setting up the characters and their reasons/personalities first will make for a better impact once things do start happening, an everyday internal battle of wills
